Kinda want to write a Spock POV post-fal-tor-pan fic where Spock sees Jim and is instantly whammed with the fact that he's in love with him, but still has no idea why or what that means, so he just goes around with a knot of love tangled in his mind, utterly baffled as to why it's there or how to figure it out. He can't ask the kolinahr adepts, because it feels un-vulcan, so instead he's just. confusedly pining the entire time.

Jim smiles sappily at him and Spock's like "My Heart Is Beating Faster. Why Is My Heart Beating Faster. There Is No Cause For My Heart To Be Beating Faster. Do I Have Tachycardia."

Spock, to McCoy: Doctor, is there history of heart disease in my family?

Bones, suspicious: Yes? Why? (already surreptitiously scanning Spock w/ a tricorder)

Spock: I have noticed concerning irregularities in my heart beat. They occur primarily around Admiral Kirk.

Bones, freezing: Repeat that for me, Spock?

Spock: I have noti-

Bones: No, not that, the next bit! Where they happen!

Spock: Ah. Around Admiral Kirk.

[FIVE MINUTES LATER]

Spock, annoyed: Doctor, cease laughing. I fail to understand what part of my medical condition you find so amusing.

Bones, still wheezing with laughter: Don't - don't you worry your little head about it, Spock. You're not sick, that's the important thing. (interrupts himself by laughing again) You'll (wheeze) figure it out eventually.

(Spock, disgruntled, gives up on him and leaves.)

(McCoy keeps laughing for another ten minutes.)

McCoy cried: "No human can tolerate the radiation in there!"

"But Doctor,"

Spock said, feeling a certain terribly un-Vulcan affection for the man who opposed him,

"you yourself are fond of pointing out that I am not human."

McCoy: "You can't go in there, Spock!"

Spock smiled at Dr. McCoy. He was so completely and comfortingly predictable. Spock could go through their conversation in his mind and know everything the doctor would say, everything he himself would reply. The result was the same.

After Spock nervpinches Bones, he "gently" lowers him to the deck, and tells him:

Spock: You have been a worthy opponent and friend

McCoy seriously does everything in his powers to stop Spock, knowing damn right that Spock is incredibly strong.

These three man belong together, and when one has been separated, its hard for the other two to go on without the third. Kirk is seriously hit by Spocks death, he lost one of his dearest friends, same McCoy. But even thought that you would say that Kirk and McCoy are best friends, they don´t go and share their pain together. They each keeps it for himself.

To the picture above:

When Kirk reaches for Spock, and touches the glass, to shield away the light and to see Spock. He does not care for the good of the many (he no longer belives in it). But he wants to touch Spock:

" as if somehow he could touch Spock´s mind through the glass, take some of his pain upon himself, give hsi friend some of his own strenght, But he could not even touch him"

I am not crying you are.

This is a thing Spock did for Kirk in the worst moments of his pain. He erased his memories to help him from sadness, but he also gave him strenght, even thought he himself was hurt (The Black Fire). Spock took extreme care for his capitain, and now Kirk could not help him back, and that shatterd him.

Spock sees Kirk as the one and only capitain of the Enterprise, as his friend, a man who save him and a T´hyla.

Mabye even Spock does not give a shit about "The good of the many". Mabye he just wants to save his T´hyla and his friend, but says its for the good of the many, to aflict less pain on them than needed.

Maybe I'll make a post on this at some point but like, something deeply fucked up about TNP and Po3 that people have totally forgotten about is how badly they try to whine that "Tigerstar Had Good Traits :("

Firestar does it, Brambleclaw does it, and they keep doing this after it becomes this GRAND irony that Firestar almost gets Tiger'd to death in a fox trap because he was too trusting. Bramble gets his pity award of keeping deputyship and then cries to his son about how No One Saw The Good In Tigerstar :(

And it's wiiiiild that no one else in this fandom has done anything with the fact that Leopardstar broke the Warrior Code to appoint Hawkfrost, who had no apprentice, an extremely aggressive and warmongering Tigerclone who says things like "Tigerstar wasn't the worst cat to look up to." ONLY qualifying trait was being kinda like Tigerstar.

And she practically did that the SECOND Mistyfoot went missing. And then Leopardstar continued to be one of the most violent and xenophobic leaders through Po3, joining with WindClan to attack ThunderClan.

What I'm getting at is that like, a few years ago, with books like "Blackfoot's Reckoning" and "Shadow in RiverClan" it's like they suddenly decided to retcon in a bunch of "redemption arcs" in hindsight. They just pretended like there was this grand high reckoning with TigerClan, when there literally wasn't, and if anything that caused SERIOUS problems for the cast that the authors didn't fully acknowledge as such.

And now ppl haven't actually read the main series and are just working with their recent memory of all these retcon books.

But TNP and PO3 are still there, and you can go and see the ACTUAL timeline where Leopardstar is really not apologetic at all, and Blackstar is a useful stooge for the very next wannabe dictator that strolls in, in spite of the new side content that COMPLETELY mischaracterized them for their plots to work.
