In the world of heavy metals, love is denser than hate!
#Poorly drawn SVSSS#SVSSS#luo bingge#luo binghe#ask#Is that right? Two different character tags? I think that is right.#I'm calling myself out with screenshotting the asks with the dates because my full ask box has become a problem I'm determined to solve.#I promise you that if I did not respond to your ask it was because I 1) *really* wanted to hold on to it to make a doodle reply#or 2) really was so touched by the message and got overwhelmed#So expect many year + old asks suddenly gaining a reappearance! I'm going to get to them ALL.#Back to Luo Binghe (both versions). You see...the substance he is made with has a chemical reaction to affection.#Like how a pokemon has multiple paths to evolution depending on it's friendship points or exposure to random stones#so to does he evolve into various forms. I feel like Bingge (Ht) would be a noble gas. Unable to form bonds#I could also see him as a Halogen-type of element! Highly reactive and only truly found in manufactured environments.#And Binghe (Lv) would be an alkaline earth metal (+2). Sturdy. Forms bond better but not freely giving them away.#this is the second time I've related characters to elements - and I am far less familar with Scum Villian so please feel free to chime in.#I could be way off base here and I am very down for someone to talk chemistry and character themes.#Thank you all for the love you have given my silly little LBH. It means a lot to me B*)#Don't...don't look too hard at the lack of mark on his forehead here. I gave up. It's just...hidden behind his bangs.

Villain: Cult of the Earth in Arms
Camped out in remote mines and fortified wilderness compounds, these zealots toil and train and stockpile for a war that may never come, dreaming of the day they will march to glorious victory over their hated foe.. whoever that happens to be week to week.
The cult has many names and supposed patrons: deposed human kings, exiled gnomish geniuses, scornful aspects of dwarven gods. All of these are mere proxies for the cult’s true master Kurtulmak, a bitter god of warfare and mining who takes the form of a kobold who’s ire manifests as poison that dribbles from both his jaw and tailbarbs.
Like many gods of wicked war, Kutulmak cares nothing for whatever cause his unwitting cultists call him to, feeding instead off of their resentment, suppressed fear, and ever mounting bloodlust. It doesn’t matter whether they are a paranoid militia prepping for a conflict they will never see, or bitter partisans waging guerrilla war against a populace long since seeking peace, they all feed Kurtulmak’s desire for intractable conflict and indelible resentments.
The cult of the Earth in Arms tends to operate in isolation, pertaining to self sufficiency while raiding, extorting, or fleecing others for what they need. They entrench themselves in an area, filling it with traps and hidden fortifications, while sinking tunnels deep into the earth in search of resources that can help to fill their arsenals. Iron for blades and armour is obviously prized, but copper and tin for cannons and saltpetre for blasting powder are likewise prime targets. Often they will use captives to work these claims and the foundries they feed, as the cultists often consider drugework below the dignity of born warriors such as themselves.
Adventure Hooks
An uptick in disappearances puts the party on the trail of a slaving operation, funneling bodies into a band of backwoods cultists working a hidden gem mine. After they’ve cleared the bastards out, the party might have the opportunity to make the operation legitimate if they put in the elbow grease and promise the authorities their due.
The local lord thought he was very clever, operating a hidden foundry out of the old dwarven ruins to produce weapons and artillery in preparation for a campaign against his liege. As it turns out the reason the ruins were abandoned in the first place was because they sat on top of a magical layline, and all the smelting and quenching has attracted the attention of several rogue elementals.  Now there’s a scattering of earth-hulks marauding through the countryside and a team of mephits who’re flitting about with a cannon in tow.
After suffering a crushing defeat, the general of the imperial army fell back into the mountains, her forces becoming little more than bandits in ensuing years until her scouts came back with news of drakes nesting in the region. Nearly a generation of arduous training and rearing since her defeat, she’s returned to retake the lands she lost with a flight of lesser dragons at her back.. Lands the party just happens to occupy.

Whoop! Elemental Argon is back with an updated concept design--and some color!
This character's been around since like- 2012-2013- when I was first working on this story. She's had a significant rework since, but she's kept her color palette and tomboyish vibes... and an arsenal of science puns. She's one of the few Elementals that've actually taken an interest in science and chemistry prior to becoming a magical girl.

Noble gases are demisexuals.
We thought they were asexual but turns out they can get attached sometimes.
Helium is the exception, being aro-ace.

Fashion Fit for an Empress
I saw the 5th dress in my game while trying to dress another sim and immediately dropped everything to put it on her. And then things spiraled a little bit, and she ended up with 12 new outfits.

Alright know what here's a little Guild Wars 2 reblog game for everybody; what mounts (if any) do your characters have in their canon, do they have names? Personalities? How'd they meet??
Spill it all below, tell me about all your creatures!!
#my posts#gw2#guild wars 2#thinking about this a lot lately since mine def do!#I'll start: Pirkko has branded mounts and while I haven't named most of them. they were all branded over by Aurene#because they'd been corrupted by Kralkatorrik and they wanted to see if Aurene's magic could purify them in some way#it usually didn't work but Pirkko keeps the ones they saved#Larimar is her skyscale. his egg was tainted by the Brand before he hatched so Aurene was barely able to save him#he's a chivalrous knight type and is known to be just as noble as the Commander who raised him. brave. bold. kind of a dork.#while the Commander is fighting he circles up above and swoops down to rescue injured soldiers from the front line#Saoirse meanwhile gets the SoTo skyscale egg and that hatches into Nightshade. he's fierce and protective too#but in a much more 'loyal guard dog' sort of way as opposed to trying to help everyone else as well. he's an axejaw!#in Regrowth Ceara gets Foxglove because the Commander and Gorrik could NOT manage this little troublemaker#she's too smart for her own good and is CONSTANTLY causing problems. so basically just like Ceara HDKDHDH#Foxglove's a lunarmane! and she's very fluffy and cute and will give you the big shiny eyes to mooch all your food. evil#Ruju meanwhile has a full cast of different mounts who all were troublemakers in different ways when he found them#his griffon Windshear's a northern featherwing that was notorious for carrying off travelers in Lornar's Pass. turned out she was just bore#she's very playful and mischievous and still grabs him on a regular basis. he absolutely hates this#his fulgurite ridgeback jackal Thunderclap was a rogue jackal that the djinn had him help recapture and tame#he's imbued with Ruju's air element magic and is known to make the air spark and smell of ozone when he's annoyed#then there's Blitz his lepidote brute skyscale! he likes bloodstone magic and kept nipping everyone until it was finally provided#the rest I don't have in-game yet but I DO have concepts for the skimmer/warclaw/raptor. the 1st 2 I know what skins I want too#the skimmer will be a frosty-dyed lithosol named Frostbite. it's an ice elemental that terrorized Frostgorge Sound#the warclaw is a spinetail nian with jungle colors since it's supposed to be a smokescale-type saurian critter#and the raptor is SUPPOSED to be the jungle raptor that plointt grew to huge size and promptly tried to eat him#BUT there isn't a skin that feels close enough yet so rip. Fang is a handful tho and keeps trying to chew on Inquest HDJDGDH#ANYWAY. that's all of mine. throws this into the wind

We need a big wave of Space Race nostalgia to make people care about scientific pursuit and the advancement of knowledge as one of the most noble causes.

i cannot for the life of me remember who made that post with the headcanon about the black family losing a lot of their wealth.
but i've been thinking about it a lot. and in england from early to mid 1900s, the aristocracy changed fundamentally as a class, they lost a lot of their previous held power as well as a lot of their money. and because of this, they either had to get a job (the aristocracy is the leisure class. they don't work), which means leaving behind the traditions of your class and your family in order to modernise and keep your money/power, or they could sell off their large estates/lands/artworks in order to keep tradition of the aristocracy as much as they could, but it meant losing a lot of money/power.
there's this quote describing this change in the aristocracy actually- "less power, more prestige". in staying with the traditions of old money, they lose the power they had in government/economy/whatever, but gain lots of admiration and respect from society- like they still have honour and integrity despite losing their money and power, which then becomes their primary tool in still being seen as an influential family.
and with the black family being known as "the noble and most ancient house of black", that definitely could show they chose that pathway. they're clinging onto their lineage of nobility in a time when the aristocracy as a class and the idea of high society is very much falling apart. and unlike quite a lot of these families, they don't modernise but instead keep their heads high and very much make it known that they are nobility and an ancient family, and have no intentions of disrupting this and losing the meaning of what being an aristocrat and a noble used to mean.

hear me out for genshin x bsd-
atsushi would be a cryo claymore that scales off atk (since the tiger is shown as extremely powerful and can even cut through space) and optimizes physical dmg
dazai would be a geo sword support that increases elemental res, acting as a debuffer (as no longer human works in the bsd universe) he would also scale off em
kunikida would also be geo but catalyst that deals physical aoe dmg.. he'd be an in-slot dps but not an optimal one imao his talents are much better suited to make him a battery unit
akutagawa would be pyro polearm?? or sword?? and he's obviously a heavy dps that scales off crit rate/dmg and tenma tengai could be similar to cyno's burst when, once activated, increases def while simultaneously raising rashomon's atk
chuuya would be an anemo catalyst dps similar to wanderer bc of his gravity manipulation and he would have a melee stance where he atks from the ground and an elevated state where he uses gravity manipulation to be able to atk off-ground. his ult would be corruption obviously and would parallel xiao's where his atk and crit rate/dmg are sharply increased but he undergoes continuous dmg until the duration of his burst ends (in this state he is vulnerable as his def is lowered and he isn't able to accumulate energy meaning he needs a team built around him, preferably with a healer and a shielder)
how does it feel to be the sexiest person on this site w absolutely the most correct and banger takes anon??.. why are u correct on literally everything

Aurorum the Blind Sage Gender: Male Background: Aurorum used to be a renowned member of the imperial Noble Court. As a younger dragon he was a lot more pretentious and foolish, he had an obsession with material wealth and appearances, wasting his money to showing off his status as a member of the highest elite in the Empire. Then one day he completely lost his eyes because in an accident caused by his own greed. Without his vision he was no longer capable of holding his position in the Noble Court, his superficial possessions became absolutely meaningless and made him start to reevaluate his life and the company he was around. Despite being blind he began to notice certain things more clearly; how blatantly shallow he and the other Nobles were, the hollowness behind their words and sympathies, and the cracks in the system he had perpetuated. At first he was desperate to see again and make all of these new sensations go away but he started to realize he was truly blind before and was now finally seeing He decided from that point that he needed to turn his life around. With his rank and money he could have lived very comfortably from here on out, instead he decided to give up his wealth and dedicate the life to helping others. He's still on friendly enough terms with some of the imperial court and noble class who still recognize him as one of them but others just see him as a poor old man who fell from grace. Auroram is much more proud of the people he has helped than any title or possession he once held but he still feels like he has not done enough until he has reformed the Noble Court. Personality: Aurorum used to be Arrogant and obsessed with how he presents himself. Now he is a lot more humble and kind. He doesn't care anymore how dragons think he looks or how well he presents himself, he can't see anyway so he sees no point in it. Instead he cares a lot more about how he is able to help better the lives of others. Strengths: Perceptive, Empathic, Can read the intentions of others very clearly Weaknesses: Blind, Non-Combative, Can't Hide his Emotions at all Powers: Light Stats Elemental Energy: 5/10
His energy is about average which is pretty good especially for somebody who's not combative. Elemental Control: 1/10 He can't perceive light anymore so it's very hard to control his element in any form, however he is still able to change the colors on his body and glow instinctively. His Colors, Patterns, and Glow will change with his mood. Intelligence: 7/10
He has become a lot wiser in his old age. He has a great deal of understanding of court politics and running an Empire. He also has gotten a better at intuition for understanding the intentions of other dragons. Combat Ability: 2/10 He is a Blind older Dragon and a former high noble without much in the way any real combat experiences

mistborn is extremely juvenile in its 'anti-imperial' (and even thats a stretch) philosophy but it's surprisingly unrelenting so far. and I honestly prefer a protagonist who freely hands out money to beggars and plans to overthrow the government in order to improve their lot to a poor con artist who suddenly realizes saving a noble family is her actual most important duty and a cop protagonist who had to suppress the urge to arrest old women reading tarot cards (but it's okay because he's actually a masked vigilante). like the mask of mirrors tries to have such an elaborate racial hierarchy and system of social injustice but it doesn't actually make any sense and it's incredibly frustrating bc it fails repeatedly to realistically and meaningfully comment on the world it creates while pretending it's so complex. mistborn aims a little lower intellectually (neither of them are near the realm of say, baru cormorant) but imo it actually has better politics (SO FAR) than MoM and is more successful as a result in both its goals and as an entertaining read

Hullo!!! Another ask from me!! Can I ask about your setting?? :D what's it like? I'd love to know the lore :D
Oh there's a lot to say, so I'll give some for now and maybe add more later :D The most developed area is the country of Skorrain, a little island with a mountainous coast. It's described as its citizens as "pretty safe, pretty normal". It isn't at all :D
Theres a collection of City-states, each bearing solid defences and capable guards. Outside them, you're prone to running into dangerous people and creatures, including (but not limited to): Dragons of varying types (including Atomic, Ferrous, and Sylvan), aberrations like roaming Beholders, Cryptids if you get close enough to Panderra, the "Capital", roaming cultists of The Clandestine (demigods who are seeking supplicants to grow their power), people trying to become gods, and warring mafia families if you get to the north-west.
Analaxis is a city run by heavily classist yakuza elves. Their nearby rivals are set up in Ferrenith, and are 1920s Mobster goblinoids who're developing guns. One of them is a Dad who has gained 2 daughters by accident, one of whom is 350 years his senior. He introduced her to irish coffee and tommy guns.
The Mysterious Forest lies in the centre of the country, itself home to a coven of misandrist witches who're protected by Ora The Manslayer, the long-dead ghost of one of their progenitors. She kills any man who enters the forest, allows women in and escorts some of them in to join the coven, and keeps the enbies out, but lets them live.
One city, Ild'fallen, is built below the lava of a volcano, and is protected by a layer of dense arcane diamond that acts not only as protection from the lava, but as a climate control for the city. The leading family's next-in-line is an Artificer-type who is out trying to get tourists to visit her home. She creates arcane punching weapons based on the stories she heard of a random tiefling lady from halfway across the country who got her own magic punch abilities from a now-dead god of mental health.
Also, milennia ago, the only god of magic to have ever existed died there, and his power suffused into the land to make it weird as balls.
The first lich in existence lives in the mob goblin city, and his ex-student (who became his better so quickly, he experimented on her and killed her heart) crawled out from the ocean after being stuck there for 140 years. She found the tower he now lives in, developed her powers further, and became goddess of undeath. She wants to kill him but the other gods wont let her because it's too petty. Also she's trans and human, but hasn't aged for the 180/200 years before her ascension.
Another country has trains and a cult encroaching into their lands from the underdark. Their leader is trying to resurrect the now-dead Lolth, who chose to become mortal and died of old age, because of lesbian pining. She's a disaster.
