Thank you for the tags @captn-trex and @wings-and-beskar ☺️💕
Film project?? That sounds so exciting and omg I wish I had an annual HP rewatch 😭
And your dog snoring next to you sounds so adorable, makes me miss my dogs 🥺
Last song: Shut up my mums calling - hotel ugly
Favourite colour: any shade of green and amber and lilac🫣 and any shade of pink apart from hot pink
Last book: The Perfect Son by Freida McFadden. This book was so well written and the plot twist was so surprising and the narrative was so convincing that I was second guessing myself and felt gaslighted by a CHARACTER😭 highly recommend it if you enjoy hallucinating whilst staring at ink on a reprogrammed piece of wood
Last movie: Attack of the clones (halfway through, I’ve been slowly integrating my little sister into sharing my love for Star Wars and so far she loves obi wan and chewy)
Last show: Outnumbered (2007), my lovely bf introduced this gold pot to me and it’s so English and it gives me such homey vibes and it’s so silly I love it
Sweet/spicy/savoury: definitely savoury, I tried spicy and it just wasn’t for me
Relationship: yes
Last thing I googled: Jabba the Hutt (my little sister could not remember him at all lol)
Current obsession: definitely Star Wars but it’s become less of an obsession obsession and more of an appreciative obsession 😭 the music the costumes the sets the story the relationships and struggles is everything to me. Rex. Fox. Wolffe. Cody. Fives. Jesse. I could go on for hours
Looking forward to: passing my driving test, seeing my dogs, possibly switching courses to English language + creative writing/film studies ☺️🫣 finishing my multiple WIP’s especially 🤠
NPT: @actuallybarb @jaigeyez @nevadastarrsworld @vrycurious
10 people I'd like to get to know better
Tagged by @sadundefinedbread, my beloved ❤️
Last song: Monitoring by Deco*27 feat. Hatsune Miku
Favorite color: turquoise
Last book: last book I finished was 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King; last one I read (and am currently reading) is The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
Last movie: A Muppet's Christmas Carol
Last show: Dexter
Sweet/spicy/savoury: I like all of them, but sweet reigns supreme
Relationship status: Married in the same way a nun is (aka I'm too emotionally devoted to a character - or, in my case, several - to have an IRL partner lol)
Last thing I googled: if color blind was one word or two. Fan fact: "colorblind" is an American-ism that started gaining popularity in the 1990s
Current obsession: Besides the omnipresence of Supernatural, Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Looking forward to: finishing and posting a couple of fics :3

✨philm club✨ rewatch - october 19th, 2015
liveshow - notes/thought yaps under the cut!
i love how they’re explaining how they do their individual liveshows to each other like im not saying they were just sat in the other room twice a week watching the other persons liveshow but like surely you have some idea of how it usually goes lmao
“im quite mellow today we’ve been in a car for a while” phil does seem like he has more mellow/chill energy in this one i imagine they were tired but also so go go go at this point resting for a second would only slow them down more
6 year friendiversary and dinof anniversary! It's so insane to me that it was only 6 years atp like this dnp was not too long after i became obsessed with them and i blinked and now its 15 years
dan “reassess your lives” and phil “i think you should be thanking them”- i think this is fascinating and ties into how today dan still automatically goes “im so sorry” when people say i've been watching you for x years and it makes us all want to shake him by the shoulders and say don't apologize silly man!!!!!!!!! take the compliment we mean it with love!!!!!!
dan exposing his ass to audience in leeds and years later during wad great stuff
phil smacking his head on stage wow some things really don't change
“calm down” in a silly voice from dan always reminds me of the cLaM dOWN airplane northern voice live clip
i haven’t rewatched a liveshow in so long so much hair adjusting
they sound so british sometimes
“dan do you know what yaoi is” this is so funny to me you are asking the poster boy for yaoi day in 2024
looking at pics of p!atd on tumblr COME BACK TO ME TUMBLRINAA they r right btw i love pretty odd
“dan choke me with your legs” why r u reading that. whore. see in 2015 knowing that a literal child probably said this its kinda cringe but also me with sister daniel and like all the Thigh in general these days so who am i to speak
“i like being remembered because that doesnt happen often with the celebrity folks”  :( this is sweet i know this time was A Lot and in general the radio stuff wasn't for them in the end and they appreciate that it was cool and fun but dan also mentioned how it was annoying to just be brushed off or being in a position where you're just forced to chase after all these big named people that dgaf about you but its just nice to see they noticed when they were remembered and the 1975 mention i could write an essay about 2018 dan and the album abiior
phil stopped the bus for fish and chips hehe i literally had fish and chips today this is cray. i hope they actually had them for dinner this day i would love to have a parasocial fish and chip night with them
you are pal creators :’)
editing tips mention they are so unserious
i am so emotionally attached to the london apartment but referring to it as “the house” when they have an actual House now is really getting to me
aww talking about tabinof :’( i cant remember if i've talked about this before but there was hugee “drama” back in the day when it was first announced of people accusing them of selling out or some dumb shit when this wasn't another copycat youtuber ghostwritten book they poured their hearts into it as silly and fun as it was and the way dan talks about it really shows that i hope they were proud of it and still are
dan you don't really have the same hair but ok
talking about the australian today show and they were just on it last month!! why does that make me so emo
bitten right on the florida
bakeee offfff mention this is why i loved liveshows like just yapping about the shows they watch and cry over together
dan self aware get over it crashing out “so what he enjoys a themed drink” he is so silly dfjfkdfksfkj i love this part
can i live in that autumn moment?
rare what phil has been listening to! movie soundtracks ok king
dan being a little pretentious talking about their differing tv show opinions and phil just mocking his hand movements and giving a 2 word review their dynamic is so dear to me
Is this an unpopular opinion idk i can’t stand 3d movies
black and blue as always
phil’s laugh and look and dan going “you cheeky little bugger” at him putting “phil and dan” on the chair page<3
hearing them talk about tour in the tatinof days when it was their first go and things like how its amazing hearing people sing to the preshow playlist in the context of like right now is soooooo as a longtime fan who yearned to attend tatinof while it was happening but couldn’t and finally actually experienced them and the magic of a dan and phil show and things like singing hot to go with phannies just a few months ago god im going to miss this era sm
the apocalypse/ai/technology tangent is scarily relevant right now and from nearly 10 years ago wow hashtag we’re all doomed
susan boyle after the amazingdan reaction video lmaoo
they were really doing the most during this era like omg so many promises of things coming soon among the tour and spooky week and book and they were literally just home for one day after being in a car for hours earlier that day like they seem in good spirits in this one and i know its just chill chatting for an hour but boys! take a breather!
overall i enjoyed this one! i don't rewatch old liveshows a lot but this is a fun way for us all to commit to rewatching and discussing one a week bc there's always so many fun little forgotten details and i think it would be fun to continue even post break! i was very tired while watching this and somehow still wrote out this very long yappy list of notes which are really just a stream of consciousness which no one will read probably but i humbly present them anyways <3

No disrespect to all the other actors (I seriously love them all) but can we take a moment and appreciate Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard's acting skills?
I mean, let's just think about it.
60% of what Cas says is "Dean" in infinite inflections, the other 40% literally makes zero sense and it's totally unfunny if the lines are not delivered to perfection. Yet, Misha slays every effing time.
On the other hand, 60% of what Crowley says are sexual innuendos, the other 40% are pop culture references that I personally don't get half of the time (I'm not from the US). Yet, Mark eats and leaves no crumbs every effing time.
And they both have spent 8+ years in the same frigging costumes.
I mean, I'm just blown away, they literally carried the show on their shoulders and I'll appreciate them forever.

God, I'm (yet again) exhausted. What a show. I will say, flaws and all, it's still one of the best animated series I've watched. Ever. No, I don't think it deserves the vitriol it's getting on social media.
I have a LOT of emotions right now. I don't think I'm even thinking straight after watching through everything once. It definitely needs to be re-watched multiple times. No, I'm not offering any kind of insights or anything like that. I think I'm just too emotional seeing my favorite show end.
I really wanna thank the writers, directors, artists, animators, producers, and everyone else who worked on this show for this work of art. It was beautiful, and it's why I love making gifs of this show.
And just because this show has ended, doesn't mean I'll stop making things. There's two whole seasons to work with now. I hope I can have enough free time to post regularly. I still need to make some 8k wallpapers and a ton of gifs haha.
I'll take a break and sleep for now. I'll see what I can make when I wake up tomorrow. I have so many things I want to do, but I also feel like crap and I too, have a life LMAO.
Oh, and I'm still looking forward to the next stories that they tell us! Runeterra truly has amazing lore. Excited to see what's next!
Thank you for all the likes, reblogs, and support you guys give to my lil sideblog! I appreciate you guys so much <3

rewatching love sea and i've got some episode 1 mahasamut thoughts:
i'm so appreciative of how much we get to see of mahasamut being an important part of the island community in this episode. its character establishing/quick scenes but we see a consistent thread of kindness, gentle and good humoured interactions, and just overall helpfulness to others. you see him having fun with palm who is younger and clearly loves and respects mahasamut. you see how he knows and cares for different people in very personal ways.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
another thing epsiode 1 does a good job of doing is establishing how intelligent mahasamut is both intellectually and emotionally.
he instantly clocks on that tongrak thinks the island/mahasamut is "beneath" him. tongrak is a jerk from the get go, acting as if his wealth (constantly referring to how expensive his suitcases are) allows him to treat mahasamut like crap. he assumes mahasamut can't speak/understand the central dialect and openly makes disparaging comments about his intelligence.
Tumblr media
but rather than getting annoyed/offended, mahasamut weaponises the prejudice and leans into it to annoy tongrak. he doubles down on the Southern dialect (even after he reveals he can speak Central). when tongrak whines about not understanding him, mahasamut just repeats himself but slower (such a good allusion to when people yell at you slower and more loudly as if that will magically make you understand English better). he leans into the whole 'small town awed at the fair skin of the city boy' act (masterful depiction of someone weaponising the 'dumb country hick' stereotype).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
mahasamut just has such a good handle on tongrak from the start and it really showcases how smart and intuitive he is; like he instinctively knows how to handle this feral cat of a human being that tongrak is (i say this with complete affection).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
his handling of tongrak is so incredibly effective and it throws tongrak so off his game that he looses all cool and just blurts out how baffled he is by mahasamut's reactions to him. this tells us (and mahasamut) that not only is tongrak aware that he's being a jerk, he's doing it on purpose because this usually works to drive people away. but it doesn't and never will work on mahasamut and the show lays the foundations of this aspect of mahasamut's character right from the start.
but whilst mahasamut remains unfazed by tongrak's bitchiness (for lack of a better term), we also see that he is not going to be a pushover either (and i love that he never becomes that even after he falls in love; in this, mahasamut's character is wonderfully consistent). he isn't shy about calling out tongrak for his poor behaviour/rudeness. he specifically points out that tongrak's been acting like a spoiled pet (or child).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but also!! whilst all that is going on, mahasamut is also doing a really good job of taking care of tongrak. when he enters tongrak's room, he cleans up after the tornado of trash and beer bottles, puts away his clothes properly, then brings tongrak out to get some proper food in him (it's not his fault that tongrak only has a single lettuce leaf; he tried). mahasamut takes him out on the boat to relax him and give him inspiration for his novel. and when he realises that tongrak was genuinely scared and upset, mahasamut actually treats that with sincere care and concern, apologising and comforting him (in the novel, apparently tongrak slaps him and he still responds only with care and comfort). he's so incredibly gentle with tongrak here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
later in the series we see how much of their relationship development hinges on the the juxtaposition of words vs actions because neither of them put much stock by words (tongrak, because they are the tools of his trade and he knows how they can be used to deceive; mahasamut because he never cares what people say about him) but episode 1 does a great job of establish just how good mahasamut is going to be at showing his love for tongrak once he gets there.

Does anyone else ever think that "The Time Travelers Pig," "The Deep End," and "Sock Opera" have the same base plot?
Twins are in a place doing something. One of the twins has a romance plot. Someone's life is at stake. (Waddles', Mermando's, Dipper's respectively) Then that twin realizes they need to give up the romance to save them.
In the last two, they end up dodging a bullet by letting it go.

I'm finishing up my rewatch of season 3 of The Boys before I begin my SPN rewatch (got 2 more episodes left) and watching Jensen's performance as Soldier Boy just absolutely floors me.
It floors me because I've seen antis time and time again claim that Soldier Boy/Ben was essentially Dean in a superhero suit, that Jensen has one note acting, that he watered down the character by refusing to do scenes that made him uncomfortable (especially by one anti blog in particular who claims to be an acting expert, you know the one), and that his acting is very bland.
But in studying his performance because I'm studying the character (for writing purposes), these people couldn't be more wrong. I will admit that the only time I got a semi-Dean vibe from him was during the scene where Soldier Boy tells Butcher about his father. Which doesn't surprise me because Jensen himself said he leaned into the Dean/John dynamic for that scene.
But otherwise, I don't see anywhere where their claims hold any water. I mean, have you actually watched his scenes?
Tumblr media
This scene is so important. Annie is getting ready to face off with this guy and even though she knows he's dangerous (after seeing he results of one of his explosions up close and personal), but she has no idea how dangerous, not really. This isn't Dean. This isn't Beau. This is the dangerous side of Solider Boy and had Hughie not intervened, there's a good possibility shit would have gone even more sideways. Especially, with Ben coming off of the confrontation with Countess, her hitting him where it hurts the most (meaning she tapped into one of his biggest insecurities. That explosion wasn't an accident (like NYC or even at Herogasm with the Twins). Ben didn't black out here. That's shown to us by there being no Russian trigger, despite him learning that Countess and his team handed him over back in 1984 and didn't even get paid for it.
I mean, look at this expression right here. His body is moving but his eyes don't. He's getting into position, ready to take out the next threat. Only when Hughie steps in and Annie's eyes dim does he step away, assessing her as not a threat. This is the weapon that is deadly enough to take on Homelander and no matter where you stand on Jensen as an actor, he pulls it off here.
The physicality he utilized in this role speaks volumes. And it's not about Soldier Boy being a Supe or being in a suit or having to look pissed off all the time (minus the few times he's amused). It has to do with how he embodies that character, carries him, and if he pulls it off. Spoiler alert: he did.
Tumblr media
This scene exemplifies exactly what I'm talking about. I have watched it countless times and this part of it always sticks out to me every single time. Look at that expression, look at the eyes. Ben is not going all out to sell this belief let's call it to Hughie. He's giving him a look that says "this is the truth and you better believe it or else". He's not smiling for news cameras or doing propaganda or greeting fans of his movies decades prior. He's not selling the Soldier Boy is America's Greatest Hero image here. He's subtly threatening Hughie, and this is where he begins to have an issue with him. Because Ben wants to see himself as the good guy, something Kripke, Jensen, and the cast have talked about in promoting the season. In his own mind, he is the good guy; he's a legend in his own mind so to speak. He's bought the hype about himself. And anyone who doesn't see him that way is an enemy aka a threat.
It doesn't mean he doesn't know he's doing things that aren't right (as we saw in those outtakes of the 'Don't-do-drugs' commercial). He's very self-aware but he justifies it to himself because he's Soldier Boy and almost like Homelander always says, he can do what he wants. Not necessarily that he has a god-mentality that rivals Homelander's but everything is justifiable in his mind because he's a Supe, or more precisely the Supe, and he's protecting his country. And it also keeps that insecurity of being a disappointment at bay that he has from his childhood. It's all layered into his make-up so to speak. So not only is Hughie a threat (not physically obviously but to Ben's image of himself) but is also bordering dangerously close to reminding him of the very thing he hates: a mirror that reminds him that maybe his dad was right about him (not saying he was, I'm saying this is potentially what is running through his mind). So not only does it share a brilliant parallel between Hughie and Annie when it comes to Soldier Boy that eventually plays out beautifully in the Tower Scene in the finale, but it also is sewn into the issue between Hughie and Annie this season in their own relationship.
But the way Jensen plays that scene is phenomenal because if you watch it, you realize if Hughie says one wrong thing, he may be in trouble.
Which is then continued in this scene:
Tumblr media
In this scene, Hughie is mentioning there's a lot of people inside Herogasm and here we get Ben's reaction to Hughie saying that. Then he tells Hughie as long as the people stay out of his way they should be fine. But again, watch how he says it, his expression, focus on his tone, his body movement. He clearly is not happy that Hughie says this (it literally is a continuation from the hotel room scene) and again has that subtle threat vibe, even with Butcher standing there (because let's face it, to him, even with temp V, Butcher is no threat). And of course, we all know the slap scene and the punch scene that happens later. Not only does Hughie get switched out for Ryan later on who Butcher ends up protecting from Soldier Boy, but it all plays out beautifully as all of the connections, overt and subtle, unfold throughout the season.
But back to Jensen's performance. There is so much to appreciate in how he fully embodied this character. And that's not saying it through an AA haze of "omg he's so hawt!" or "omg did you see his ass?" That's appreciating the amount of work that he put into this role when the cameras started rolling. He literally became Soldier Boy and he embodied him even outside of the suit.
As an actor, Jensen is very nuanced. He consistently adds in these little things that help make the character even more multi-dimensional than what is written on the page or what is called for int he scene and how it's blocked. This is why there is a certain small group of people on here that repeatedly talk about Jacting Joices, it's not just related to Supernatural or Destiel or Dean. It's about Jensen as an actor, as a performer, and how much he actually pours into these characters he plays. Whether it be the way he moves (or walks), or the expressions he uses, his eyes (yep, he does that too, see above), with his hands, even down to the way he delivers a line. All actors do this in their own way obviously, lean into physicality as well as their performance, but he definitely has his own unique style that I just don't see anyone else replicating. I think there's a reason so many people say no one else could have played Dean the way he could have for example. And if you watch his characters, really watch them, you'll see what he does each and every time. Even smaller characters like Jason from Smallville or Tom from My Bloody Valentine or Alec from Dark Angel. It's all right there on the screen.
So I guess my whole long point is I don't get why antis rip him apart when it comes to this role of Soldier Boy (other than being antis I guess) or say he can't act or that has no idea how to properly analyze his character because he actually did put a ton of work into this specific character (as well as all the others he's done) and you can clearly see it as you watch his scenes in the show. While I wish we could have seen Homelander and Soldier Boy go at it a bit more, and see Soldier Boy truly unleash that Alpha-ness of being the original Supe like had been talked about in promotions and interviews, it doesn't diminish that this character was fascinating and he brought it to life from the script in a way that complemented his own unique style as a performer.
tl;dr Jensen crushed Soldier Boy and Ben (yes, two different characters to embody actually) and I cannot wait to see more of him in any future Boys-related visual story telling, on the show or others.

rewatching s1 of broadchurch even tho im halfway through my first watch of s3 because i have an obsession with rewatching things and DAMN there are way more hints at who ended up being the killer than i originally thought, and a bunch of moments that are really ironic in hindsight
spoilers under the cut (yes it came out like 10 years ago but im still putting a spoiler warning)
ep1 - joe and ellie talk in the kitchen after hardy makes the statement to the media
joe: do you know what happened? i mean should we be worried for other kids?
on first watch, his tone of voice and body language here just seem like confused and worried parent, but on second, there's definitely a hint of panic in his voice
ep2 - joe, tom and fred in the cafe
joe: this is a terrible, unspeakable thing thats happened. but nothing like it will ever happen again here
tom: you cant know that though can you? you cant be sure
then after this joe's facial expression looks SO guilty like he can't think how to respond
ep3 - hardy questioning tom with joe in the room
hardy: can you think of anyone who would want to hurt danny?
THEN THE CAMERA IMMEDIATELY CUTS TO JOE. ik near the end joe swears he never wanted to hurt him but this is still a rly clever piece of editing, i love when shows do this. also the fact that in every scene where he's questioning tom, joe's in the room and occasionally talks but he's never in the frame of the camera hardys using to record it. he was literally right under their noses the entire time and they never suspected because they were focused on other people too much
ep4 hardy goes to the millers" for dinner
this scene hits so much different on second viewing holy shit. at one point they're talking about marriage and work and how hardy's divorce was partially work-related and:
hardy: this job, it does it to you
ellie: well, not to us
ellie actually makes me sob she loves her life so much then it all just comes crashing down on her
joe: do you think you're gonna solve this case?
hardy: certain.
joe: good :)
joe's reply itself here makes sense but there's a few seconds before he says it where his face is just blank and mildly panicked. he's genuinely worrying about being caught at this point.
now this one isn't a direct hint or anything but just if you think about the dialogue in a different context...yeah it fits
hardy: you bloody liar
joe: ive said nothing
hardy: and yet-
joe said nothing to the police or ellie and yet was lying the WHOLE time.
ep5 - brian asks ellie out
ellie: sorry, im married
brian: and thats an issue is it?
ellie: happily married, brian
brian: oh. okay, fair enough. only lots of people aren't though, are they?
ellie: i am.
THE IRONY OH ELLIE LET ME GIVE YOU A HUG PLEASE
ep6 - jack's wake
ellie spends the whole scene looking around to see if anyone looks worried, at one point she looks into a room (seemingly at nige but joe is stood nearby having a different conversation) and she makes eye contact with joe RIGHT as the camera cuts away
ep 6 - joe takes tom to the skate park and ellie arrives
ellie: i was just looking round that bar at the wake thinking "its someone here, why cant i see it?" the longer this goes on, im starting to suspect everyone
joe: when you say everyone...
ellie: well, nearly everyone
this is probably the most obvious hint that i can't believe i didn't catch on to. of COURSE they're gonna make a point for the killer to be the ONE person ellie LITERALLY SAYS she isn't suspicious of.
ep7 - ellie lets susan leave the police station
ellie (about susan's past with her husband and daughters): in your own house, how could you not know?
just ow. the irony of it all. fucking ow.

netflix's the dragon prince: hey, we're here to ride the nostalgia wave from those of you who never emotionally recovered from avatar: the last airbender. we're gonna give you 7 seasons of a similar but insanely watered down formula depicting 4-5 different factions forced to work together for the fate of their world, while grappling with familiar moral quandaries such as:
growing up means not seeing things as black or white; they are actually shades of grey! every other theme in this show however, will contradict this. don't worry about it.
don't let the pain you endure turn you into a bitter old bitch. it's actually infinitely cooler of you to always, without fail, take the high road and be the Bigger Person.
since hatred and bitterness can't undo the wrongs committed against you, they are functionally useless emotions and you shouldn't have them. dummy.
we are all made up of Good and Bad, but only the actually Good Guys who tell the Bad parts of themselves to F off deserve to be happy.
retribution and revenge and violence are always Bad, and committed by Bad People only.
you can save everyone!
everyone is capable of change, they just gotta make the right Choices. Easy peezy.
everyone deserves to live, even killers.
also, there will be so many quips written into the dialogue that you'll risk breaking a tooth from cringing so hard. and lots of gay so we don't get shit from you all like the last time we had to bend over backwards to network TV LGBT restrictions. enjoy feeling good about being doormats, nerds!
#the dragon prince#idk man this show started out with promise#or maybe i've changed since it first came out#but i am starting to detest these goofy faux moral narratives#the older i get the more i see these kinds of themes as shit that keeps lower classes in line tbh#am i reading too much into it?#who does it really help to turn the other cheek all the goddamn time?#all i'm saying is maybe sometimes a bitch needs to get their shit rocked and they'd deserve it and that's not a moral failing#maybe it's okay for people to suffer the consequences of their actions#it's not virtuous of someone to just keep taking shit and doing nothing about it lmao#it's sad and weak and betraying of one's own self to keep bending over backwards and bestowing mercy where it's not owed or appreciated#feels like christian nonsense and i don't like that shit in my media#sometimes the good guy is the guy who stands the fuck up for themselves and chooses not to enable shit behavior#sometimes an eye for an eye is justice and justice is what's right#maybe in screenwriter aaron ehasz's world i'd be considered a villain and i'm okay w that#i have to go back and rewatch atla but i'm afraid it won't hit the way it used to#also there are soooooo many couples in this show??? idk it's nice to have a romance or two in a show like this#but when there's like 5 adjacent love stories it gets distracting and feels pointless#don't you all have bigger fish to fry how can you think of getting your nut when the world's ending

Love the tiny continuity of Eliot getting his elbow hurt in the beginning of “The Top Hat Job” and still holding his elbow after the elevator fight. I just feel like they always make characters seem unhurt after like on injury.

Just finished your goodVlad!au and I'm in love with the way u draw expressions, especially vlad and jazmine, it's like breaking the bones of the DP style and born anew
Thank you so much! ✨ When I first started drawing more properly, people kept telling me my expressions were my strongest skill. So I guess I started to lean more into that lately with my storytelling.
I love stories that can tell so much with barely, if any, dialogue. 💕 and Vlad and Jazz are especially really fun to push their posing and expressions to their limit :3

yesterday i finally found time to finish watching heartstopper season 3 and, as always, i've adored it! tbh there were some changes from the webtoon that left me a bit speechless (such as the ferris wheel scene with tori and charlie), but it's okay i trust alice and know they've got more wonderful stuff to look forward to in the future season(s) ~
i don't think it's just me but this show sort of feels like a warm hug, even for people like me who aren't teenagers anymore and haven't come out of the closet yet...
i'll always cherish the stories and characters created by alice oseman! sadly they weren't part of my adolescence (i would have loved reading/watching heartstopper in my teenage years, it would have been so immensely helpful), but they're helping me now that i'm in my 20s to better accept myself, among other things 𔓘
Tumblr media
hopefully n3tfl1x will renew the show for season 4 soon !!

I'm rewatching Hannibal now that I have a bit more free time and one of my favourite things about the first season is how much fun the show has with the fact that virtually everyone watching already knows that Hannibal is a cannibalistic serial killer — the cannibal puns, the cuts between Hannibal's victims and him preparing meals, the way he's so consistently but subtly manipulative in a way you can't fully appreciate without knowing who he is. I think creators adapting popular stories/characters can fall into the trap of writing or directing the same way they would for a narrative that isn't already entrenched in the popular consciousness, but Bryan Fuller and co. really leaned into that awareness and wove it into the narrative in a way that produces some truly spectacular dramatic irony.
