In Wolfs case she therefor ended up beeing a chesspiece in that metaphorical chessgame, since she took part in the crusade specifically not helped by the pope and specifically peacefull and sloved with politics and not battle.

-Martin didn't text very much so it'd be hard to judge whether it was his typing voice or not. (unlikely)

-Martin texts in such an unpredictable way that such a change of tone wouldn't be weird. (possible)
