Swinging by say: please give The Goblin Emperor a try if you have not yet read it. It’s so good! The protag is so good!! I care about so many characters!

I would never have tried it off its description on my own, but it was rec’d to me and I loved it, so am passing that on!

In a similar vein (but a toootally different genre) I would also like to rec The Kiss Quotient! This probably never would have even crossed my radar without a friend’s rec. I have a mixed relationship with m/f romance fiction (and also rarely pick up anything set in the modern “real world” haha) — but this one really, really sparked joy.
