Restaurant Phantom
Danny as a restaurant owner in Gotham or something similar The thing is that, as Danny's customers are mostly villains, they are immortal beings. From Ra's al-Ghul, Vandal Savage, and even Queen Hippolyta and few others. For Vandal and Ra's, it was to taste things they had not eaten for hundreds of years and to taste the original flavor that doesn't exist anymore.
And Hippolyta saw the restaurant as she visited her daughter in man's land and didn't know why but ate in it in the end. It had been a long time since she ate those good old traditional ancient Greek dishes.
So Danny's restaurant with his assistant Dani became a pretty famous place for people who are older than you think. And with them, other people joined: Ra's group, Vandal Light, Hippolyta Amazons, a few Greek gods, and even Dr. Fate and Klarion with others.
It was more or less a neutral zone for them to just eat and maybe chat. until JL found out about it.
Danny just had fun to cook the food for them, it was fun to cook things he learned in the Ghost Zone, he was surprised people even knew the names of it.
He had no idea how Mr Savage knew it was Mammoth Meat.

TOS Balance of Terror
That was the best Star Trek TOS episode in my opinion. The Romulans start attacking Federation outposts just beyond the neutral zone. The crew is completely unfamiliar with what a Romulan looks like until they get a view of their bridge. It turns out, they look like Vulcans. This makes one of the officers very prejudiced against Spock.
Later on, when they are discussing the situation in the conference room, it was actually Spock who argues that the Enterprise must attack, because the Romulans will keep doing it if they don't.
Oddly enough, we learn from Scotty that the Romulans only have impulse engines. But they already have their cloaking device, and a weopon that is super powerful.
In the end, Kirk comes through on time. The Enterprise wins the battle.
This is my absolute favorite TOS episode. I can watch it over and over.

Neutral Zone
Also known as Exo-Space. The Neutral Zone is a space between realities where matter and anti-matter can coexist. It is home to eldritch forms, predatory concepts, and a powerful element known as Neutronium. It is located beyond the Superflow and acts as a buffer zone between the Multiverse and the Outside.
First mentioned/appearance: Fear Itself: The Home Front #4 (2011)
Captain America and the Mighty Avengers #5 (2015)

I've finally watched Star Trek Prodigy in english and, to my surprise, I must say, that this is probably the first Star Trek series that I prefer to watch in german.
I don't want to say, that the original is bad, it's just...
There are those small moments every now and then where the voice acting is just slightly better or more fitting in german (because sometimes they really overdo it in the original) or where the voice fits, in my opinion better to the character.
And sometimes the choice of words is just better in german, which is a rare case.
Let's take the ending of s1e14 crossroads.
Admiral Janeway gives Commander Tysess the order to fly into the neutral zone, however he refueses with the words. "I'm sorry Admiral. At risk of war I cannot fullfill them."
It's nice sure, but if you compare it to the german, it just doesn't hit that hard.
In german he says ' Tut mir Leid Admiralin. Aufgrund der Kriegsgefahr verweigere ich den Befehl', which basically means ' I'm sorry Admiral, due to the danger of war, I refuse the order'
It may be only a slight difference and yes, I am over analysing it (he's my favourite, leave me alone).
In the original it sounds like Tysess can't fullfill the order due to the risk of war and not his own opinion. He is bound to the law and therefore can't fullfill it. However his own personal opinion could be different.
Which makes this version of his answer just stronger.
In the german however he uses the verb 'refuse' or 'verweigern'.
The definition of 'verweigern' is basically to reject or decline something that is wanted of them.
Unlike the original, due to the use of 'refuse' or 'verweigern', Tysess still sounds like he's refusing due to the risk at war, but it also sounds like he's doing it because of his own decision and his own morals.
Maybe it's because english is not my native language, but in my opinion the german just slaps harder in this ( and a few other) scene(s).

Friendly reminder
I do not give a damn about proship vs anti ship
So kindly get away from my blogs if you’re gonna stir up drama at “problematic content”
I genuinely do not care about what people are doing with fictional characters

Alrighty! Got some more sketches for the Neutral Zone and a first sketch of her disguise to blend in with her crew.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fun side fact!
Nexus (the Neutral Zone's disguise name) has a huge crush on her captain, not that said captain knows about it. The only ones who do are Copper and Galen, and after some time, both of them decide to help their friendly shipmate out. Not knowing that they're trying to set up their dad with his ship.

In my fiction “An Archive Of His Own,” Sauron discovers that he is a fictional character in e-books written by JRR Tolkien. When he discovers Sauron fan fiction on AO3, he begins to write his own fanfic. The current story describes fictional Sauron working on the outline of a multi-chapter fan fiction story, set in the Star Trek universe. His fan fiction satisfies his needs for a self-insert Sauron as the wily protagonist, for his protagonist having sex with gorgeous and/or hated people (Arondir, Adar, and Lúthien), and the protagonist’s evil plan succeeding. Sauron’s love of cats is explained, and he praises fan fiction in which Sauron turns into a cat. Sauron’s previous popular fan fiction about Sauron’s evil kittens vs. Professor McGonagall’s good kittens is described. There is zero actual smut, just descriptive notes in Sauron’s outline about smut chapters.

One thing that my TNG rewatch is making me think about is the nature of the neutral zone. Why does the Federation let the Romulans just run the whole area? I get that the Romulans have cloaking devices and the Federation doesn’t, making it harder for them to infiltrate, but no insane sensor posts? IIRC, they DO have a sensor net at the border, but that’s purely defensive, as in only if something crosses the actual border. It seems pretty foolish to have no shows of force at the neutral zone other than occasionally sending the Enterprise. I guess Section 31 must be that good or something

A little bit about differences in mentality: I just understand that in America if you hug a woman without any evil intentions, she will tell the police that she was tried to rape even though there was no violence, and if you do it in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, they (except for people who do not like to be hugged or stroked on the head) are either happy to hug you too or say: «иди нахуй пидор»

In this episode of the podcast, we review Season 1, Episode 6 of Star Trek the Animated Series. The Survivor is a dense story with a lot of lore from introducing the Vendorians to mentioning Bones' daughter. Part intrigue, part action, part tragic love story, Survivor manages a lot on a cheap budget. We discuss it at length in this, our 4th episode.

i know this is something lots of people have commented on but its so funny to me how every time the enterprise goes near the neutral zone, a bunch of romulans immediately spawn in nearby. it's like...folks. this is how you write good tv. i wish more shows did this stuff
