not a submission, just rebutting the last anon. i actually love that there's so many books i havent heard of!! i add tons of new books to my tbr based on the polls that come across my dash :) it doesn't dampen my interest at all

It's something of a problem that most books on here are at least 90% "Never Heard of That Before". I know you probably can't do anything about it without a criteria for popularity (of which I doubt a good unbiased one exists), but it makes it hard to be interested in any of the polls when you've never heard of the book and it seems no one else has either.

Yeah I totally get it and i understand that it can make people lose interest, but as you said idk if something can be done about it

I definitely want to keep your submissions bc this is about all of our reading experiences, even though they tend to be niche most of the time

Thats why i decided to add the goodreads choice wards winners but now im noticing that there are lots of books (like nonfiction and poetry) that arent that popular oops

There are simply too many books overall and reading a book takes more time than watching a movie (on average) so one person wont have read or even know most of the books that exist

I bet even if we did the new york times bestseller list there would be books that many havent heard of
