People watching s2ep7 and thinking the point is that vi is the root of everything bad and her death “fixed” everything is like reading moby dick and thinking the point of the book is what whales are evil and if we killed more whales mental illness would be fixed

sorry to everyone who thought cuckoo (2024) was a deeply unpleasant incoherent mess of a film when the reality is that it is both of those things and also cuckoo is a film meant for little freaks and weirdos who came to see hunter schafer make out with a french lesbian and watch dan stevens be a freaky little german pied piper weirdo scientist billionaire(?) with a resort and a funny accent. as god intended.

Forget killing off an evil character as a 'punishment' (terrible implications) and instead think instead of forcing the character to work a customer service job (far more fitting retribution)

so chuck's original ending was low-jeopardy, uninspired, lacking cas. but because becky "gave notes," chuck wrote a new, worse ending out of spite. "awful, horrible, hopeless." then he killed becky's family in front of her and then he killed her too.
i generally do not believe the people who worked on spn had active contempt for the fans. but it's hard not to take this personally, especially given 15x20.

blah blah something something about how fandom gravitate towards more individualistic characters because they’re easier to understand compared to community-oriented characters whose character development is very much tied to their culture/nation because understanding a single character is easier to understand than a character AND an entire culture, especially when said culture is based off a marginalized community that exists in real life 🫠 and said fandom is majority WHITE.

cowboy au worldbuilding with the thoma
as you can see im taking some creative liberties with the giant emu by making them more diverse bc canon isnt enough for me and i have the brainworms
extra notes below the cut
standard thoma:
the original thoma and most common type available
perfect for travel, can pull wagons or carry light cargo
fast with good stamina, fastest over short distances
friendly, intelligent, energetic and quick to learn
the most diverse in terms of colors, patterns and extra traits
well rounded in all departments (theyre like the AQ horses of trigun)
draft thoma:
uncommon outside of major cities (kept by specialized breeders)
used for construction work and long haul heavy cargo transport
gentle, patient and eager to work
not built for speed but can walk for days at a steady pace without rest
dense feather coat protects them from the heat and sand
expensive to maintain and keep due to their size
theyre a relatively new type that came from selective breeding
"wild" thoma:
actually feral (aka. previously domesticated), not wild
originating from lost/runaways that have not been in contact with humans for generations
rare and elusive with a small population, sometimes spotted living near shipwrecks
people will pay top $$ for their capture
begin to exhibit adaptive mutations that help them survive the wastelands
smaller and less fluffy than their standard counterparts
dont come in many colors, mostly bays, chestnuts and blacks
hardy with incredible endurance
very stubborn, temperamental and intelligent, cant be forced to do something they dont want (like donkeys)
rarely ridden, mostly kept for crossbreeding
cattle-type thoma:
related to the standard thoma but NOT the same species
common pack animal in caravans, sometimes ridden as a cheaper alternative to the standard thoma
mainly bred for meat, hide and eggs
kept in huge open range herds that travel along worm swarms for feeding
sometimes kept as a form for anti-worm pest control
keratin crests are lightweight and used for protection and display
ranchers will paint patterns on their crests as a form of identification
not the sharpest tools in the shed, tend to bite and trample people

Inspiriert by one of my other posts but a shadow and four version of this:
Because four's relationship somehow can look even worse than Ravio x Legend can ever be imagined as
Like four is the bad guy of the relationship if we use the same logic of creative explaining while completely changing the context and shadow is not that much better
Like four just straight up telling an abridged version of his relationship (both platonic and romantic can work because it is messed up beyond repair)
And not realizing that it sounds messed up from such a basic and underexplained perspective
Like he tried to kill his partner
But then he realized how naive he was he decided to manipulate him and gain his trust
Then he attacked him with a deadly weapon (when the four swords hit shadow)
Because he betrayed him and had no use for him anymore because he told him everything he wanted to know
Then his ex(friend but the chain doesn’t need to know) flipped out and tried to burn him in a messed up witch burning way
But he managed to save himself
While his ex attempted a murder suicide attempt (destroying the mirror was a literal murder suicide)
Killing another person alongside himself (Both Vaati and shadow died)
And that was the moment when four realized that he was a bad person and used dark magic to bring him back to life (violating several rules of nature and morality at once)
Then after a few years managed to bring his ex back
And tried everything to fix what he did by giving him absolutely anything he could want (including committing crime together and expensive gifts and literally anything shadow wants)
Then left him (linked universe happenes)
The chain is contemplating hitting him because that is definitely a disturbing situation that has no right happening but also he seems to regret everything he did and seems to try and fix it (but they will be at odds for a while)
When they finally appear at his Hyrule shadow accidentally makes everything worse by saying things like :
He doesn’t let me out the basement during the day
He killed my father figure (Vaati)
He is a wanted criminal who has enough bounty on his head to be executed for it
And that he is much happier now that he actually tries to make the relationship work better

well! as promised, there's a new princess AU fic. consider this a prequel of sorts -- it's set when luz is seven and hunter is nine. complete oneshot, 8k words long! in addition to various upsetting things about hunter and luz's relationship itself, this is ALSO the first time i've written belos interacting with hunter alone in this series + the first time i've fleshed out darius and hunter's relationship.
summary:
"Your sister missed a morning lesson with me," the Emperor says, lightly, without preamble. Sweat breaks out on the back of Hunter's neck. The Emperor smiles down at him. He does not look angry, but that doesn't mean Hunter can relax. Sometimes the Emperor doesn't look angry until he does. Sometimes the genial tone is a trap. Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes– "Is she here, by any chance?" - When Hunter is nine years old, the princess of the Boiling Isles goes missing. He has to find her before it's too late.

(spoilers for cyno's second story quest ahead!)
okay this is kind of a red-string insane connect the dots theory, but bear with me here. i was going through collei's voicelines today, and in her "about kaveh" line, she says, "The General Mahamatra once brought him to our place for a meal. From the moment the fruit arrived on the table, he ranted non-stop about his difficult and stubborn roommate for the entire meal. We didn't get a single word in the whole time. We just nodded along and tried to stifle our laughter. It took a lot of effort."
i've heard that line before, but i was thinking about it through a kavetham lense, so it only now occurred to me- why did cyno bring kaveh to tighnari's for a meal?
Tumblr media
i've marked both tighnari's house and haikaveh's in red, plus the yellow line to demonstrate the route between their houses. i've done that walk manually at walking speed for fic purposes, and it's about fifteen and a half hours in-game- 6 am to 9:30 pm.
so, with this information, this raises the question: why on earth would cyno bring kaveh to tighnari's house, when it's a goodly distance away, when presumably he has a house of his own?
admittedly, he's not home much since he's off doing general mahamatra-ey stuff, but it's established in his second story quest that he doesn't live with cyrus anymore, so he lives somewhere when he's not busy, and it'd be logical to assume that he has an akademiya-regulated house yknow, nearby the akademiya, but if that was the case he'd just bring kaveh there?
and if he didn't have a house at all to bring guests to, they'd probably go to kaveh's place, or if they really needed to avoid alhaitham, they could go to lambad's or another local resturant?
which brings me to my conclusion- cyno does have a house- he just lives with tighnari.

Im in love with the implications of tape 1 of Roier's lore because he either:
1) Was legitimately turned into a rat by the federation, which, beyond the goofy fucking model, is genuinely frightening body horror that I think roier (the guy not the cubito) has the full capacity to explore knowing his rp abilities.
or
2) He was hallucinating getting turned into a rat because of all the drugs he the feds are pumping him with. This comes with the extra terrifying implication that the feds ARE actually experimenting on him, but what they're actually doing to him is being obscured by the effects of the drugs.
Either way it's fucking horrific and I love it. I can't wait to see what he has planned next.
