Something I love about The Good Place is that there are so so many false starts.

Someone will start a plan, and then the plan immediately falls apart. This is particularly evident in season 3 when they're all on Earth (the perfect setting for plans to fall apart). At one point we think that Michael is going to "reboot" them, but instead the humans see him. They take the soul squad to the "next level" only to die shortly after because of the demons. (Not to mention Doug Forcett was a non-starter anyway).

The narrative makes you think they're about to start some new undertaking only to rip the rug out from under them. It's so human, so real, and it is a great twist on some of the supernatural shenanigans they've been getting into. Rather than watch the heroes build up some great new direction, they're just thwarted when their foot is barely out the door.

Finished The good place season 3 (spoilers ahead)

So I just watched the last episode of season 3 and I like...Wanna cry. That season was awesome but the last episode was soooo aaaawful! I WANT ELEANOR AND CHIDI BACK TOGETHER, THEY'RE THE BEST, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT AWAY FROM ME YOU...

...Calming down. Trying.

I love how Eleanor starts by basically trying her best to be good but...Life is unfair and people cruel. I love too how Tahani tried to be humble but is basically pushed back toward her old habits, how Jason must face the disappointment of losing every contest he participates in, and how Chidi finally finds a way to stop hesitates constantly to finally learn of the consequences of some of his choices.

It actually fits perfectly the conclusion of the season saying it became more complicated to actually go to the good place nowadays (I say some things people do that costs them points are weird too...How is a Lord of the ring wedding theme in another country bad?)

Another thing I love is how they are reacting to learning the truth, like Chidi is shopping shirtless *stares*, and Tahani and Jason are going all generous for the sake to be generous! But then Michael finding out that the man he thought was a perfect blueprint for his friends is actually unhappy and bullied and do things that aren't good for his health. He can't ask them to do the same.

Then the end...OMG the end. I really want to yell like WHY! Like...WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME???

Oh well, now we have Eleanor at the head of the new experiment, Michael is having a panic attack, and...WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY MAKE THEM BACK TOGETHER! I DON'T WANT CHIDI FORGETTING ELEANOR JUST BECAUSE OF AN EX...That's so horrible I hate it!

Praying it won't mean he'll live something with his ex too...Because the Janet/Jason/Tahani triangle is finally pretty funny but I wouldn't want that with them...

I think that people have gone over too quickly about the fact that Aziraphale has a fucking gun in his bookshop. Yes it's a fun gag but it's not something to be taken so easy. This angel has more experiences with guns than an actual demon from hell, which is stereotypically the one that should know all about weapons. And it's also something that can be useful. We know that Aziraphale can and would fight if necessary, and since season 2 we have to consider the fact that he has a weapon theatrically placed inside a fake book, and I have a feeling that we will see it being used in season 3

The hopeful, childish ball of sunshine that’s labeled as dumb, foolish, and weak but who learns that there’s bravery in being gentle and eventually saves the day by being kind and demonstrating forgiveness, therefore subverting the macho leading man stereotype.

the older i get the less i understand why people complain so much about sakura's lack of sex appeal in the anime when the fanbase response is to double down on the hyper feminization and sexualisation making kishimoto look like a moderate feminist and pierrot canon compliant in comparison.
