A little something inspired by Calliope’s adventures in Ironwood! Here she’s standing with Angrboda and one of the Giants I pulled from the myths: Eggdér, wolf-herder of the Jötnar.

In the Völuspá, Eggþér (or Egðir, which I find more visually pleasing loll) is a herder of the giantess in Ironwood, which is most likely a reference to Angrboda. He raises the kinfolk of Fenrir, and joyfully plays his harp while the red rooster Fjalarr crows to herald the onset of Ragnarök. Given that he’s mentioned with Angrboda, I just had to make him one of the returned Giants in my fic!

Since he’s a herder, I imagine all those wolves who led Atreus to Angrboda were actually Eggdér’s, but he bid them to watch over her if he was ever absent. He also plays a harp, so I gave him an affinity with music, and a possible teacher for Calliope given her own goddess-y musical abilities. As for his dynamic with her (and with Atreus), that’ll be revealed more in the story! XDD

Oh, and I should probably mention that Kratos and Sindri won’t be the only father/uncle/guardian figures in Calliope’s life lmaoo

How does Grimm Blake handle running into Kamen Roser Beowolf Jaune?

Blake let out a deep, rumbling purr as one of her shadow tails removed the lower part of her Grimm Mask, revealing the red cracks that inched from the corners of her eyes down to the edges of her black lips. Her amber eyes pierced deep into Jaune as she studied... admired him. "As if you aren't?" she asked with a smile. The Grimmified Faunus inched closer, her body swelling, growing with each step until she was nearly twice Jaune's height. Ink-like fur dominated her arms and legs, giving the former Huntress an unmistakably monstrous appearance.

"I-I'm still human!" Jaune argued back as he flexed his clawed fingers. "I would never side with the Grimm."

Blake just rolled her eyes at Jaune's retort. "I'm not on their side, I'm not on Merlot's or Humanity's side either. I am on my side." The Grimmified Faunus adjusted her Grimm Mask, hiding her face again. "We could save Remnant! Rule over Humanity and Grimm alike! Me, it's Forever Queen, and you, my delectible King Consort." Jaune watched as Blake's shadow seemed to churn and bubble as the corrupted giantess spoke.

"Sure, any kind of peace would be nice. B-but... that's just trading people like Ironwood and Salem for other, equally terrible options. We will just have to find another way-arrrgh!" Jaune shouted as he launched at Blake, only to feel her slip through his hands. She can still make shadow clones! He mentally shouted at himself as he rolled across the ground to avoid a counter-attack. But it was his evasive action that threw Jaune into Blake's trap. Jaune felt his limbs sink into his own shadow, leaving him flat on his back and entirely at Blake's mercy.

The Grimmified Faunus lorded over Jaune as he struggled against her shadow powers. "Jaune, Jaune, Jaune... That heart of yours always got you into trouble, and I love that you still want to do good and be courageous. But right now, I don't want or need that." Blake said as her clothes melted away into shadows, and she knelt down, flooding Jaune's field of view with just her wet, dripping pussy. "You can be a just ruler once we've conquered Remnant, so for now, just enjoy the ride." But just before Blake slammed her pussy onto Jaune's face, the blond released a burst of Aura, freeing himself from her trap.

"You are corrupted! I'll save you too, even if it means beating you!" Jaune triumphantly cried out as he jumped to his feet. He was no longer a human but something entirely superhuman. What he couldn't achieve as a man, he could achieve as Kamen Rider Beowulf. He ignored the throbbing bulge that ran down his leg as he focused his power to try and charge once more. But his burst of confidence was shaken with every step he took as Blake didn't move a single muscle; one moment, he was staring at her smug grin and humungous breasts, and the next, his limbs were wrapped and bound.

Gambol Shroud!!! How could I have been so forgetful! Jaune mentally lamented as he had once again thrown himself into Blake's trap. He watched as Blake dragged a black claw down his suit, causing it to quiver and peel away, exposing his nude body underneath. He watched as several inky-looking tailed coiled around and massaged his cock and balls as Blake continued to smirk. Their touch left him biting back deep, needy groans; Jaune knew just how sensitive he was under his armour, and now, Blake did as well. Everytime he opened his mouth, silent groans fell from his lips instead of words. His hips developed wills of their own and began to relentlessly buck into Blake's touch, needy and desperate for more.

Angrboða is a jötun/gýgr and the leader of the járnviðjur (giantesses of the ironwood). she is the mother of three powerful jötnar, Hela, Jormungandr, and Fenrir. she is said to be a mother of wolves, werewolves, and wolf-shaped giants.

different aspects of Angrboða are revealed throughout the sagas and eddas under different names and kennings. these figures can be identified as Angrboða due to common symbolism, associations, and behaviors. they are Hyrrokkin, Hyndla, Járnviðja, and Viðolf.

vargr in my lore are a species and few and far between , specifically wolves directly descended from fenrir’s bloodline. currently there are only four *known vargr : fenrir , hati , sköll and lira.

in my research all definitions of the word have primarily included references to fenrir and co. ( even though there are many other formidable wolves in norse myth , many of whom were used as mounts / pets. we'll get into that ted talk another time. none ever rivaled fenrir , that's the main reason why he's so feared. ) it also holds negative connotation ( evildoer , destroyer ) which is fitting — if you know , you know. it's more retribution than it is true evil in my opinion but i digress. that definition is specifically why i chose to commandeer the term for my own backstory.

although there are other species of ** wolf adjacent creatures in jarnvidr , likely more nightmarish in appearance given the járnviðjur ( giantesses / troll wives ) who birth them — i don't see that number being all that high. wolf packs with the resources to exist in large number are usually made up of around 12- 15, i see it realistically being closer to ten or so, and that’s me lumping all the sub species together including their offspring. there may have been a time where that number was greater , but because of odin's increased paranoia regarding wolves , those from the same place of origin as fenrir especially , that number greatly dwindled.

fenrir was the first wolf born in jarnvidr , and because of this remains the largest and most powerful of them all. his brood naturally following suit. there’s something in angrboda’s blood that needs to be acknowledged. she’s not only the chieftain of jarnvidr , but the original mother of monsters. it’s not all loki , although he’s definitely present and accounted for.

* there could be other children out in the realms protected the very same way lira was. i like the idea of sköll having children of his own someday and lira possibly having an older sibling or two that she's never met , more than likely because they were a casualty of the war against the jotunn. she's the baby so there could have been others before her , but as far as lira knows there are only four in existence.

** i really need to emphasize that no two creatures who inhabit these woods are alike. when i say wolf adjacent i mean something that might resemble a wolf in some aspects , but is still different than any other wolf encountered in any realm. the ironwood is made up of entirely unique monsters --- if two creatures happen to be compatible enough to procreate there's no way to know what sort of offspring will come of their union. further continuing the cycle of one of a kind entities populating the forest.

moder , pictured above , in the movie the ritual ( which i highly recommend everyone watch ) is the perfect example of this. she's the jotunn daughter of loki and * insert someone here , more than likely angrboda given her track record of birthing nightmare fuel * she isn't what one would expect to come from two seemingly normal humanoid beings. i'm married to the idea of everything born in the ironwood existing in a category all their own , even if ( as mentioned above ) they appear to have qualities that closely resemble an animal , like a wolf or an elk. this rarity makes it difficult to label other creatures , but it's on brand with the peculiarity of these woods as a whole. it's actually kind of funny because of all the abominations birthed in this place , fenrir and his family are seemingly the most normal in appearance.
