Fuuuuck. My favorite trope is "Tim Joins the Batfamily Late" and there's so few of those out there. I just love that angst or the chaos with an unsupervised Tim, one who's parents definitely died, that doesn't have the support of the batfam.

Like, no matter how you spin it, it's so interesting to see how drastically that changes things. Did Jason never die? Did Bruce heal enough before Tim could step up? Did Tim still get training with Lady Shiva? Is he a somewhat civilian? Is he a non-Bat vigilante? Does he still form YJ? Did he stay in Gotham?

The sandbox is huge, and it's such an underutilized trope.

i rewatched the deadpool movies and then watched the new one over this past week, and while these movies are lot of fun in a lot of ways and i enjoy a lot about them, may i just say: DAMN, is the writing for vanessa ever thankless as all hell, especially in the sequels

Was relistening to Sam's Playlist and it gave me angsty thoughts about Quinn and what Darlin could have gone through living with him

In the beginning, it was fine. It wasn't the best relationship, but it wasn't like Darlin knew much better (or felt like they deserved better). But he made them feel seen, Quinn saw the parts of themself that they had hidden and he didn't push them away, in fact he almost seemed giddy to accept them.

But the softer moments he graced them came fewer and farther between. There wasn't a kiss without teeth, an embrace without a bruise. But it was fine, they could take it, they were strong...and they had gotten pretty good at finding pleasure in the pain.

When they moved in with him, the glimpses of his true self only became more apparent. Since he was a vampire, he didn't need to eat. So there wasn't much food to be had, and it wasn't like many grocery stores were open at night. Not that Quinn let them go anywhere without him. Delivery kept them from starving, and it became easier to ignore hunger pains as time went on. And Quinn didn't mind if they lost a few pounds, he always went on about how much he loved their body, like it was one of the only things that gave them value.

If it wasn't their body, then it was their blood. And God forbid if they said no. Even they couldn't stop a chill going down their spine at the look in his silver eyes when they tried to refuse. His voice would be sweet as honey as he whispered in their ear, his nails trailing along the vein at their neck.

"I need blood from someone, Precious...if not you, then I'll have to find someone else to entertain me tonight. Though I doubt they'll be able to walk away from it like you do. You're just so strong...are you sure you can't just take it?"
