Season 5 Episode 10 'The Frame Up Job' you will always be famous to me. Easily the best Sophie episode in the entire show. The trio get a spy thriller and Sophie gets this melancholy episode about the connection between two artists whose work is only seen by such a tiny sliver of the world. It's the natural peak of Sophie Devereaux's character. She loves tragic artists because she is a tragic artist. Ma Mystere not as a vanity piece but as one boy painting the entirety of this girl who will never seen so completely again. A portrait so complete that even Sophie doesn't know what it looks like. Dunno. It's just wild to me.

parker: how was your weekend?
nate: not too bad, sophie and I crashed a party and stole a painting. annoyed sterling, which is always fun
sophie: sterling even offered us a job, that we won’t take, of course. we might sleep with him, though. how about you?
hardison: we did a job and then found out a crazy guy was weaponizing the spanish flu
parker: hardison stepped on a bomb and i blew one up
eliot: i got shot. twice.
sophie: just another normal weekend :)
nate, parker, hardison, and eliot: yeah :)

So I'm watching The Frame Up Job and while there are lots of moments I like, like Nate and Sophie driving Sterling insane, Nate and Sophie being all romantic and forcing Sterling to uncomfortably third wheel, and then this gem,
Tumblr media
but my absolute favorite moments are when we see how the rest of the team has rubbed off on Nate
Nate identifies the type of safe the painting was in, which he could have learned as an insurance investigator, but I like to think Parker taught him that
Nate also uses a credit card to force the lock on the billard room door, which I doubt he learned as an insurance investigator. Clearly Parker taught him a thing or two
He identifies the type of shoes Sophie is wearing by the sound they make on the hard wood floor, which sounds a lot like Elliot's "It's a very distinctive___"
Also, his line about how Sophie's shoes are "high enough for fashion but low enough to run in" is complete bs. Sophie is wearing 6 inch platform heels. She would break an ankle if she tried anything faster than a brisk walk

i like that The Frame Up Job is my go-to example of a cozy low-stakes episode, considering it includes two actual murders and the attempted murder of two crewmembers

brethren. help me out here i skipped ahead to s5 of Leverage by accident (no spoilers thank God) but while i was trying to get back to where i was i noticed that the Rundown Job is ep 10 on Electric Now's website while the Frame Up Job is ep 9. now last i checked Rundown aired before Frame Up so why did they switch it. is it a DVD order thing like s1 is it the intended streaming order and they just didn't say anything what's going on

I just watched the frame up job with my sisters. My older sister was in the kitchen getting a cookie when Sterling showed up and when she heard his voice on the TV she sprinted across the room and leapt onto the couch so she could see him 😂

@caseys-breanna:
#nate: *making a plan for parker* i can't believe you guys are making me break into a sterenko
#nate: *makes sure elliot has puppies during moreau* oh my god I can't believe you guys are like this this is serious business
#nate: *gives sophie the performance she wants to do* hey guys when she comes lets have a plan to make her smile
#nate: *ready to burn down the bad guys for hurting hardison* i have plan m hardison dies in plan m
#nate: *electrocutes a guy for making parker cry* hey guys we can't be making hash decisions okay
also...
nate: *making it so they can save the orphans* I can't believe you guys are making play sound effects out of a prop bus for this
nate: *making it so that they can save aimee's family's horses* guys we can't run around being cowboys ffs
nate: *playing into sophie's con for ma mystere* why are you making me do crime on my off day I could be watching old movies rn
nate: we gotta pull the plug on this job we have no more options *gives parker thousands of dollars to plant guns and one (1) saxaphone in the mark's car bc he wanted to hurt eliot*
I love that every leverage episode involves at least one moment where Nate is like "We can't do this it's too risky. I'm pulling the plug on the job." Then the team member who's getting the focus of the episode is like "Sorry, but I need to stay." and he just IMMEDIATELY FOLDS and they finish the job.

op: #tell me WHY do nate and sophie spend the entire frame up job flirting with sterling.....#how does rundown job manage to be that horny....
it is so funny that leverage was like "alright this is the last season let's split up our main characters for two episodes and do slightly different genres than we usually do. we're gonna send nate and sophie on a charming little art theft slash murder mystery and send eliot and parker and hardison on an incredibly high stakes spy thriller. both episodes are gonna be SIMMERING with polyamorous sexual tension btw."
