The Catalyst follows Forest Guardian and Wildwood Champion. After Ambrosia, Lady of the Jade Alliance, spared the ancient spirit and brought them back to their mind, the struggles of the mortal cats of the Wildwood seemed to come to an end. But as for the Spirits watching over them, it was only beginning.

A new prophecy has surfaced in the cosmos, warning of disaster reaching for both realms… and all of it seems to spiral out from the Wildwood. Or, more specifically, the Wildwood Champion themself. The reformed deity has no wish to bring ruin, but perhaps their sins are too great to outrun?

The cats of the Wildwood, the Forest Guardian, and unlikely allies in both realms are all dedicated to stop the prophecy from coming to pass. But time is running out, and rising tensions may bring the two realms to clash in a way no being could have imagined.

So that’s my pitch! The story is still in the planning stages, and progress is going well. I’m trying to gauge interest in the fandom, especially since the idea is a bit removed from canon. I’m hoping to deeper explore the stories and characters of Forest Guardian, Wildwood Champion, and the mysterious Cosmic Realm hinted at in the game’s dialogue.

Feel free to ask questions! I’m going to try to keep the actual plot more of a secret, but anything else I’m open to sharing ^^

Forest & Fire

The Forest Guardian (not named yet because again, I am TERRIBLE at names :/ ) prefers to travel the forest he protects as unusually large elderly animals like moose, elk, and cougars. His favorite form is of a black bear. While he is a protector of forest he is well aware that death is a necessary and often crucial part of the environment. For this reason he approached the Son of Storms.

The region in which the Forest Guardian would be most common is one where speaking the true names of the gods is strictly prohibited unless you are a religious leader specifically of said god. Which came in handy for me and my inability to give characters actual names.

Typically he is a fairly passive god, he wants what’s best for the places he protects but is more of the kind to give it a nudge in the right direction rather that get over involved. He does make exceptions though, especially for children (of all species.) One of his main inspirations is Smokey the bear so y’know had to show it somewhere.

He only has a few dedicated temples because most people will just leave offerings to him at the edges of forest before they enter. He prefers it this way, he wants people to have respect for the environment they are apart of, not some fancy temple.

He isn’t very social either, not even with other gods. Really the only time he interacts with other immortals is when they invade his territory. This is how he first meets the Son of Storms, whom is a god of fire among other things. Who rampaged through his forest a few times on behalf of his mother, who was angered by lack of proper offerings from nearby human settlements. He initially was very angry about the whole rampaging thing and would often chase him out. However after he calmed down he started to notice that where the fire had been the forest would crock healthier than before. Which is why he made the very hard decision to actually go talk to someone for once.

The Empyreal Dragon has an amethyst crystal heart. Its head stands about a foot tall and its body stretches 30 inches long. The head is an original polymer clay sculpt, and the horns were individually sculpted out of durable thermal plastic. Its mane and tail were sewn from meticulously layered feathers and faux fur. The body consists of many cuts of high quality faux fur all hand quilted together. It has a fully posable plastic ball and socket armture that runs throughout the whole body. The front feet are hand sculpted from flexible clay with wire inside so each toe can be individually posed. The back legs and ears are cast in very durable resin, and the ears can swivel 360 degrees at a ball joint.
