Sighing once more. Yknow, Manny, or The Man In The Moon, could've been an interesting character.

You're telling me, this guy, this immortal guy, was completely isolated from anyone talking to him in person for centuries, got to see kids live happy lives on Earth and DIDNT feel envy?

Not once?

Remember that his only friend was ripped from him and tortured by Pitch, who caused his parent's death. Besides his moonbots, moonmice and lunar moths, he had no one.

The rewrite I often go with is a gray character that wants to do good but his own flaws cause the worst outcomes. Like reviving Jack. He would want more than anything to help bring his Guardian, his brother, back but to see it went wrong to the point where Jacks memories are fractured? How could he look him in the eyes? How could he talk to Jack when he'd be stared at like a stranger?

Its selfish of him to ghost Jack, but he would be riddled with guilt over just how much pain he caused that he would go silent for a long time.

Guardianhood would weigh on him heavily as hes granting wishes to kids who will have everything he never could. Some days he might ignore them out of spite, or hes just not emotionally stable to. The weight of judging what is worth granting just grating him down, all while hes completely by himself. A screw would definitely be sliping out of that wall behind that smile.

I just like imagining Manny to yknow, have DEPTH. This is just my take I'll be in the echo chamber

can't stop thinking about an alternate, narnia-style ending to homestuck where they can stay on earth c for as long as they want, but they always have the option to go home

sure, living on a planet you made and ruling as immortal gods forever sounds cool at first, but eventually it's going to get... stagnant, yk? what is there for you to do now? you won. your character arc is over. this is your happily ever after, in a world that reveres you as gods even though you're nothing more than a bunch of traumatised teenagers.

what if you could go back? go back to the day you were meant to play, go back to being 13 and powerless and a kid again, but with all the knowledge that you gained over the years - eventually, it'll fade, but you'll always have that experience. you'll always feel like somehow, somewhere, you were a hero once. John learning to appreciate his dad and his friends and his 'boring' life, and having a chance to reflect on himself. Rose realising that her Mom *does* care about her, just as much as Roxy does - just as much as Rose cares about both of them, enough to try and bridge that gap. Dave knowing that his Bro *isn't* some untouchable, flawless hero, knowing that Dave can stand on his own two feet and take care of himself and his friends even if he doesn't do it how his Bro would. Jade reunited with her best friend, armed with the knowledge that she *will* get out of here, that she *will* see the world and see her friends and loved ones and *live*. Everywhere they look, they see faint memories of people they think they once knew and loved and forgot - in the faces of family, old photos and preserved corpses, terrible movies and buckets and playing cards and the stars in the sky.

maybe they don't go at first. maybe eternity seems easy to them, an entire life left unlived laying in front of them, but once they've done all they can, lived as much as eternity will allow and more, once the only thing left to do is go back - I think they all would. maybe not all at the same time, but I think eventually, all four of them would choose to go home

Thunderstorm Gryfaun Room Guardian Available in my site shop Monday January 13th at 12pm EST.

The Thunderstorm Gryfaun has a rose quartz crystal heart and its eyes and horns glow in the dark like lightning. It stands about 14 inches tall and it has a coat of high quality faux fur. The head and the hooves are cast in resin for maximum durability. The hands are sculpted out of a flexible clay and the horns are sculpted from thermal plastic that will not snap when bent. The neck and tail have a fully posable plastic ball and socket armature inside that will not wear out over time. The arms have a wire inside that can be bent at the shoulder and elbow.

I think I like drabbles because they let me be vague as hell. How did we get here? Nobody knows, least of all me. Another 100 words, on the nose:

“You’re not supposed to be up and about,” Catherine cautions, putting her book down beside her tea as she moves to help, but River shrinks back, holding himself up with the help of the wall, and she stills.

He looks better than he did, but that bar is so low it’s on the floor, and she fidgets for want of something to do with her hands.

“How long?” he rasps, his arm held against still broken ribs.

“Only a day or so. Please – let me get you back to bed.” She knows she can’t lift him if he falls again.

one of my favorite headcanons is that Steve is Awkward Uncle Shaped and Bucky is Dad Shaped.

Steve's not that great with kids, like at all. He cares about them and thinks they're delightful but he has no idea how to actually interact with them. Things like talking to them, going along with their imaginary games, knowing when to play around and when things are getting out of hand, knowing when to and how to discipline them depending on the situations, panics and over thinks when he has to hold babies (why do they always cry!? is he evil!? what did he do, help??) or knowing what to do when they cry, he finds he can't quite get the maturity right so he ends up talking down to older kids or talking too advanced for really little kids, and also isn't great at telling ages in general (he swears he really did think Wanda&Pietro were a lot younger than they were, and then Peter he thought was older, he knew he was a kid but like 19y. kid not 14y. kid ya know? He got muddled okay, give him a break the kid had a mask on). He's so, so SO sweet with them and wants to be good with them, it's why he agreed to do those PSA's, but he's mostly kind of hopeless with them and best with them at an arms length.

On the flip side, Bucky was basically a third parent to his sisters, he half raised them and is still to this day a natural with children. Even in his Winter Soldier state he was known to botch shots because children got in the way (he was even really good with the Widows in his WS state, and if asked he'd say having to train the Widows is the hands down the most painful thing he's had to do...) He's the kind of good with kids where he's happy to entertain them but he can also do all the responsible stuff and is the guy who calls it when other adults get too silly and dangerous/irresponsible with play time. Can also recognize ages pretty well, including by the voice and has really strict opinions about when it's appropriate to talk to children aka never without their guardian present unless they're in clear distress or danger (such as in airports, he'll fight the kid but he's not talking to him, okay, leave him with his strange logic, or in the middle of the street singing a creepy ass lullaby whether you need to find info out for a mission or not glaring daggers at Zemo). He's fucking shit at talking to adults these days though and has pretty much accepted that his social butterfly days are dead and gone in the 40s.
