ive been lamenting about how to get started on my visual novel and im considering using my extensive interest in xxxholic headcanons to use that as a testing ground

i’ve already expressed how much your agere! headcanon means to me in the tags lol, but i also wanna add that you just write it really well. i stopped reading age regression fics a LONG time ago because they felt really cringey or unrealistic, but the way you’ve written it feels natural but over the top in just the right ways for Wade. It doesn’t feel fetishized at all or like that’s all he is, and it’s really nice to see it to be taken seriously in a fic setting. So thank you 😅🙏🏻

Yes, I found it unrealistic too especially when everything is perfect and its barley ever related back to the characters trauma rather then "Lol I'm baby, goo goo ga ga, Nothing I do has consequences apparently because 'im daddy's favorite baby girl' also I just ripped off my nappy and wet the carpet" ????? Im not kidding There is genuine things written like this. And its not satire? It feels unserious and more of a mocking or joking thing then actually helping the Charater?? if that makes sense?

Anyway- Yeah I've gotten this comment a lot that most of the stuff written is flat out fetishization or is cringy in the sense of being not thought out so it sounds soooo weird. (Again- more fetishization, Especially with the excessive ageplay ones where they're literally pretending they cant walk yet.. sexual stuff.. it's definitely not for me.)

Ive said it before but Ill say it again. What people do in their bedroom with consent is not my buisness, maybe that stuff does help some people? maybe they are just inexperienced writers and I'm misunderstanding something? Either way- Im not judging, I just wish there wasn't so many sexual innuendos in the SFW ones. like.. huh? That's the point of SFW right?

Another thing I do when writing these is I think of actual littles reading these and I think about what is going to make them happy/ feel understood and seen as someone trying to heal rather then as a massive joke.

Look- As my therapists funniest patient- Truama can be hella funny but I feel having Agere as the butt of a joke is just.. wrong.

the megumi sex pollen fic was so perfect. i love the way you characterize him!! he was so sweet, funny, frustrating, and interesting as a character and the way he thought through his feelings was written really well. i also love how you characterized the reader as being kinda an oddball but also a good friend to megs who clearly cared about him. despite the fact that the sex pollen fic technically made it dubcon i really enjoyed that you made it effect them both and that they were still talking even under its effects. the romance of it all genuinely had me punching my pillow bc oh my god megumi is so in love with angst when reader is right in front of him petting his dogs and caring about him so well while he’s brooding. he’s hilarious i love him and i love how u spotlighted gojo in the fic as a funny parental figure who clearly is trying his best and who cares for megumi. overall the fic really made me feel warm and fuzzy and i love how confident your writing is. you had so many good lines and yet the entire fic felt really tightly composed with a clear direction. i love that about your writing and i can’t wait for the other fics you’re writing to be posted :))

hello, since you liked my previous long ass ask a few days ago, im here again with more thoughts (and mostly compliments)

characters: i really like that the main characters of your stories have their own unique dynamics which change from fic to fic. for example, the childhood sweethearts protagonist reads different from a date to remember protagonist, and similarly fresa and pollito read much different from each other. yes, i see the similarities in them but I also see how they interact with others in their own unique ways, i enjoy that and I appreciate how they are consistent within their own series.

a lot of it comes down to how you write players (and I believe someone else also pointed this out recently but); their personalities make sense (ofcourse I don’t really know what they’re like irl but their interpretations make sense in a headcannon sort of way).  

(i digress here so feel free to ignore this part) this is something i notice in recent videogames as well, in most early videogames all characters were written as “empty shells” so people could project their own personalities onto them and “relate” to them better but modern video games have started to also give their main characters some personality traits which make them more likeable and easier to relate to which leads to better storytelling and quests.

(controversial?) but i really like that you don’t use the “y/n” thing, it just breaks the flow of conversations and I just think its neat when people find a way around it

she is lovely and talented and brilliant and its adorable how she answers every question with “ya its incredible…”

plot: ohf, i appreciate you trying to find unique prompts and settings. it takes time and effort and is a challenge to rethink setting and situation every time. Moreover, these things just take time ya know (and but as a reader its worth the wait).

i used to work on an animated series, and our writers used to struggle with things like character consistency, repetitive plots, dialogues etc so wanted to highlight these points and say good job. creating art in any form or shape or kind and posting it is nerve-wrecking and scary, so I appreciate everyone who tries.

tiny bits of slang and localisation is just so satisfying. a little bit of “hoover”, “crisps” or “arvo” depending on their intended nationality, makes me happy.

finally, its time for some beef i.e an unserious reaction to things the reader does

cutting the crusts off toast: the crust is an important part of the toast; you cannot just cut it off?!?! 1/5.

Hate against olives and tomatoes: is this a texture thing? if yes, i get it. no i dont. 2.5/5.

Nail biting: the amount of gErMs NO!. -15/5.

fidgeting with jewelry: you must, you cannot not. 5/5

using chopsticks or a spoon to eat certain snacks: super valid. ate and left no crumbs (literally). 10/5.  

sticky notes to help study: effective. 7/5.  

reading a book poolside on vacation: -5/5 (will not be explaining this one)

smushing strawberries against your face instead of eating them: crime/10.

causing trouble and blaming it on someone else (mapi) – perfect/5. (+ all pollito fics are so funny)

Hiiiiiiiii, I stumbled upon knocked the other day and it was such a good read, which lead me to your masterlist. I had a huge feeling I would like what I find but didn’t expect for your writing to be that good! Knocked was just a taste of what was to come!!. First of all I just want to say that, you have brought me to tears reading these two fics which is something because I rarely cry reading books/fic. You just have a way of describing what your characters are going through that feels so raw. Like when yn cried and felt embarrassed because Taehyung read her diary. I don’t know if that was your intention but yeah had me shedding a few tears here and there. My two faves are Mixtape and The Iron Ring. Which is so funny to me because I usually dont like reading these tropes and I especially avoid Soulmates tropes/au like the plague 😭😭

But the way you build it up was just chef kiss. When she felt the pull for the first time, I really thought it’s because her grandma was associated with the Fae world, my mind didn’t even go there. Tbh I went in reading TIR not thinking too much and was sucked into this world you created just like yn a bit. I was just blown away how you built this world and normally I have difficulty imagining fantasy beings, like its hard for me to visualize a mental image but Jimin was so clear in my mind. I could see/imagine the hair, the outfits and even his eyes and teeth. There’s so much I wanted to say, like how I think Dreadwolf/jungkook is actually really cool and bit scary at first tho. Also Khioneeeeeee omg I want to know more about her plssssss. When she was talking to yn before the battle you could tell she lived and witness so many things and wow your mind is incredible for writing all of this actually! I also thought yn wouldnt make it by the end of the fic with the amount of time she kept blacking out 💀💀

I just want to say that TIR!yn was so unserious at times, the way she started giggling because seokjin asked her to bow that was sooo 😭😭😭😭 and the amount of references to GOT and ATLA . No i like her so much. Also the “checkmate” “that’s what she said” were just soooo 😭😭😭 I’m sorry but I laughed so much at these parts! Honestly would not mind a drabble of yn making jokes from her world while jimin is just ???? Mixtape is probably my favorite, just because it was the first series that I did on here and I absolutely fell in love with the friendships that I wrote for it. Reader's friend group holds a very special place in my heart and I really enjoyed writing gentle and patient Yoongi.

The Iron Ring is another fun one! That took AGES to write and there is a ton wrong with it/it's far from perfect but it's the first big fantasy piece that I put together so I am suuuper fond of it. I'm so glad that you felt sucked into the world because honestly, that is the number one thing I want to happen when I write fantasy. I want people to feel immersed and like reading the details is easy yet wonderful? I might revisit that world one day but there are sooooo many things I want to write.

ok i gotta say copy cat, its probably the funniest thing i've every written. my writing style is pretty unserious for the most part but that fic was just self-indulgent crack from the beginning to the end

hmmmm im bad at complimenting my own fics but i think this one is just really funny and fluffy, and i liked how their characters turned out even if the purpose was just for them to be really silly, like their dynamics were pretty good imo. and the cat made it more entertaining, and the jokes were just so dumb it was funny.
