Where do we go from here? Chapter 1
Sevikaxfem!reader
Summary: Sevika finds herself being summoned to Piltover for a very serious proposal.
(This chapter is a lot of filling in the blanks around the end of S2)
It's also on my A03
A/N: Okay so... this is my first fic ever. My deep obsession with this older butch has possessed me into writing. So please give me some grace lol
I for sure have 5 chapters planned, all started just not fully fleshed out. If this gets received well, and I get the courage and don't cringe at my own writing I MIGHT try a smut chapter for 6. Idk for now.
So with that said, the OC I have set for this story is named Ivy. I will try to stick to she/her for the most part so anyone can fill it in with their character's name/ whatever. This first chapter is mostly a lot of filling in the gaps post S2. I also went down an Arcane/LoL rabbit hole trying to figure out the mapping of Zaun, if you haven't looked it up it's broken into 3 parts. The upper level closest to Piltover is called Promenade, the middle is Entrasol (where most of the show takes place), and the lower level is called the Sump.
There will be a brief sweet baby Isha mentioned ((I fully choose to believe that theory about one of the Noxian spears in the bg of the show was holding her helmet))
The summons was brief, the timing suspicious after everything that’s happened, and as she entered council member Shoola’s office, the air felt full with an unspoken weight.
Walking into the spacious circular room flooded with light from tall windows, her footsteps echoed faintly on the tiled floor. At the heart of the space was a grand desk in which Councilor Shoola sat behind. Approaching, Sevika took one of the chairs facing her.
“Good afternoon Sevika, I do appreciate you coming all this way to meet with me. Oh, would you like any refreshments? I can have someone-”
“Let’s just get to why I’m here, thank you.”
“Straight to the point, I can respect that.”
As she turned to grab a thick folder off her desk she began to explain why Sevika’s presence was requested.
Apparently Shoola had been in contact with Caitlyn before her departure with Vi. The long drawn out conversation about this very moment finally coming to fruition. And from the sounds of things, it sounded like this was more so Vi’s proposal than Cait’s.
Days after the fighting had stopped, when the dust finally had some time to settle, she found herself finally having some time to think, to grieve, to unpack. The pill was hard to swallow but Vi had begun the process of breaking down the facts that she’d been pushing down and ignoring for years. She couldn’t help but finally recognize that Sevika had always stood for Zaun. Her initial falling out with Vander wasn’t quite truly a betrayal, she hadn’t realized just how badly those childhood feelings skewed her vision back then. Vi saw first hand just how strongly her father had prioritized his children, even if it mean pushing the fate of Zaun to the backburner. It took time but she was finally starting to understand the complexity and nuance of it all, nothing was ever really that black and white. And with this revelation she decided to talk to Caitlyn about proposing a council spot for Zaun.
It had to rebuild anyway, and there were only two living members of the original council left and one was off with the Noxian army. This is the perfect opportunity to try and start making a change. And Caitlyn couldn’t find it in her to disagree, whether she liked it or not she couldn’t help but think about just how firmly her late mother believed the people of Zaun had rights, and the right to be heard was more than overdue.
This led them to presenting this idea to Shoola, who surprisingly agreed. She’d explained to the pair that post-battle, during the honoring ceremony held in Piltover, Sevika insisted on being the holder of the flame in representation of the people of Zaun, and it wasn’t a question. They’d been in contact only a few times briefly but she had to agree, each time they spoke Sevika always carried herself as if she was already in a position of leadership. She shared the risk and fought right alongside her people til the very end. Her commitment was commendable. And by the end of the visit a decision was made between the three.
Shoola was to request a meeting and present the council seat position to Sevika. After everything there wasn’t any reason to continue to act as if the people of Zaun, who came up and fought alongside their oppressors to keep their region from being usurped, deserved to get shoved back in the dark. Unheard and cast aside, no, that was seemingly over now. And once Sevika was properly caught up on the matter Shoola proceeded to hand her over the weighty folder. She made sure to let her know that she doesn’t have to give an immediate answer, this proposal was a lot to take in. And with that Shoola gave her a line of contact that would reach her office for when she’d made up her mind and bid her adieu.
But Sevika had a hard time believing this was the only reason the position was created. She could see through the polite demeanor. Yes of course it was about time for some real tangible progress to be made for Zaun, but she saw it in Shoola’s eyes, the idea of anything like this happening again had these topsiders shaken to their core.
Just because they were allowing Zaun to be heard now didn’t mean that wasn’t without a condition. This whole situation only proved to show they need to keep a better eye on Zaun. Make sure another Jinx or Victor never happens again. She knows they think Zaun could no longer be left unsupervised. The sugar-coated offer was almost insulting but she would be out of her mind to decline. So despite the heavy presence that loomed, Sevika left Shoola’s office with that thick folder filled with documents about the proposal, the position, and all that follows it.
Which lead her to now, in her quiet little shit box she called home, sprawled across a very worn in couch. The folder tossed on an end table. Her head had been throbbing nonstop since the battle ended, a dull, relentless ache that seemed to echo the exhaustion buried deep in her bones.
But even with this little glimmer of hope that was just barely peeking through in the form of this offer, she couldn’t find it in herself to feel even a flicker of joy. The mere act of closing her eyes only forced the memories back, ripping her from any potential feeling of peace.

She found out about Isha’s death the hard way. She had made her way down to the Sump level of Zaun after hearing about all the commotion that happened. There were so many spears embedded in the ground. And as she took in what was left of the carnage her eyes met a single Noxian spear, and sat upon it a concaved child’s mining helmet, adorned in faded colors and scribbles. And in that moment she felt like she couldn’t breathe, the wind knocked out of her from recognition.
Her legs collapsed under her, the weight of everything pressing her into the floor. For a moment, she didn’t move, didn’t even try. The world around her blurred, reduced to a quiet hum in the background...

She didn’t know how much time had passed til she finally came back into herself, and forced her body to move. She’s seen countless die in her years and although her hand’s weren’t clean, she was so tired of seeing death everywhere she went. But she had to keep going, slowly she pushed herself up and started walking. The grief of Isha followed by the new stress of not knowing where Jinx was shadowed her all throughout her treck back to Entrasol. But she knew she couldn’t just drop everything to look for her.
And before she could even give the idea any more thought she’d heard someone call out to her.
“There you are!” the sound of relief in Scar’s voice was hard to miss.
Turning to face him she gave a quiet nod of acknowledgment.
He jogs up to her catching his breathe, “You need to come with me. Ekko is missing.”
Shaking her head in disbelief, “What? What do you mean missing he’s your leader?”
“The ground team hasn’t seen him lately, everyone’s scheduled to meet in an hour to go over the plan but I haven’t heard back from him or any of the other sky riders.”
“I need you to come back with me to the hideout so we can adjust the plan accordingly”, he urged.
Of course everything was going to shit, the most crucial fight of their lives was about to happen and people are just vanishing.
“Lead the way” and so Scar guides her back down to the firelights hideout.
Finally making their way through the maze of a tunnel system they arrived. The welcoming sight of that magnificent tree greeted them. But as they walked forward that initial awe had been replaced by the shock of just how many citizens the firelights had managed to hide away here.
“Before he dipped he had everyone go out and gather any sick, elderly, kids, you name it." He looked at just how much the crowd had grown. “We’re beyond capacity but he said not to turn anyone away.”
As they spoke and navigated through the crowd one of the younger Firelight members ran up to them, a younger boy couldn’t have been older than 16 running around with one hell of a mop on his head.
“Scar we got word from the sky riders, they should be here shortly!”
“Any word about Ekko?”
“No, not yet. They just said they’d recap once they landed”
“How long ago was that call?”
“Just a few-” before he could even finish the unmistakable hum of hoverboards echoed through the higher tunnels. Scar threw his hand up to wave one down and immediately the owl masked vigilante made their way over to land.
“Please tell me you know where Ekko is.”
The was rider rushing to pull her mask and headgear off.
“He found Jinx! He got her to join in on the fight!”
The immediate relief of hearing that kid was still alive allowed her to finally release some of the tension she’d been unconsciously holding in her body.
“They’re planning something even bigger for the diversion! He said he’d reach out to us soon but everything is still set to go as planned. And you guy’s can start readying the ground team for the sneak attack. They’re not gonna know what hit em!” the enthusiasm beaming off of this kid was almost contagious.
“Thank Janna, finally some good news.” Scar exhaled.
She couldn’t help but be feel a little recharged at the positive turn of events. “You heard ‘em, start gathering all of the firelights. I’ll get the others in Entrasol” she commanded before taking off.
She found her body was compelled to move a little faster now, things were finally starting to come together, all of Zaun was on the same page for the first time. The smallest spec of hope began to bloom in her gut. And she couldn’t help but realize she hadn’t felt that in years.

She pinched the bridge of her nose between her fingers, her eyes squeezing shut as if the simple gesture could stop the flood of memories working their way back up. She didn’t want to think about everything that happened after that…
But there she lay, her home remained too quiet, the kind of quiet that left no room to hide from her thoughts.
As she sat up she grabbed the folder and looked the folder over in her hand. The weight of the decision settled into her chest. This was it, there was no other option.

I dunno where I'm going with all this but let's just go down a little checklist of fairly distinct Chinese style elements present in Bleach that kind of don't get addressed in the big picture?
The first and most obvious one is that when Madarame Ikkaku first shows up with his bald head and bladed polearm, which is a kind of unorthodox mix of a Japanse naginata (as an extension of standard zanpakutou being katanas) and a Chinese spear, Qiāng[槍] particularly with the iconic red horsehair tassle, although weirdly kubo puts it on the wrong side? And this is further played upon when it's revealed to actually be a bladed Sānjié-gùn[三節棍], a three-section staff but aka Pánlóng-gùn[蟠龍棍]: "CoiledDragon Staff".
He has very clear shaolin monk vibes going for him. Although due to what I chalk up to more a limitation of Kubo's knowledge/art style, Ikkaku's fighting style doesn't actually resemble any recognizable wushu spear or staff forms that you might expect from either old martial arts movies or contemporary sport performances.
And that all is further supplemented by his eventual bankai reveal, which not only adds a few more vaguely wushu adjacent weapon shapes but also corrects the horsehair tassle problem, putting them on the right side of the weapon; under the blade. The oversized glaive-like blade in the context of Chinese martial arts theme points toward the iconic Guandao, a weapon said to have origianlly been custom made for the legendary general of the Three kingdoms era, Guan Yu[關羽], hence the name Guan-dao[關刀]: "Guan (broad)sword/sabre."
This original mythical weapon was named Qīnglóng Yǎnyuè-dāo[靑龍偃月刀], the "GreenDragon LyingDown-Moon (broad)Sword." The irony and perhaps mythic drama of the name being that it's not a broad sword at all, it's a polearm, implying a kind of mythical stature and/or strength of the historical Guan Yu that he could weild this massive two handed weapon as if it were a one handed sword. But also more literally it is just a dao broadsword on a polearm, unlike what would otherwise have been the much smaller head of any other contemporary polearm weapon.
The opposite end has what appears to be a more identifiably pulled from what's generally called a "monk's spade" in english, but the chinese name Yuèyá-chǎn[月牙鏟] literally means "CrescentMoon-Shovel."
Another pretty clear set of references are centered around Sui-feng. her names are all Chinese (Shāolíng[梢綾], Fēng[蜂], and Suìfēng[碎蜂]) And I went into an old kind of lopsided theory ages ago, but there used to be a pretty common practice in China of giving children, especially boys, a "milk name" when they were born --which would be a kind of place holder fulfilling some superstitious needs-- and then replaced as the child grew older. Bruce Lee's milk name was Xì Fèng[細鳳], which was a girl's name that, according to the superstitions around the practice, was meant to misdirect misfortune and evil spirits from targeting a family's first son. And the phonetics of Xì-Fèng and Suì-fēng, atleast in Japanese, are remarkably close. That all is in conjunction with her obvious kung fu theming and the fact that her hornet themed sword seems to also play off of the iconic yellow with black stripes jumpsuit that Bruce Lee wears in his final film, Game of Death.
In addition her two-strike "instant" kill power seems to be a nod to the old kungfu myth/cliche of a kind of hybrid martial arts-acupuncture technique(s) that can do things like block blood or energy flow, disable limbs, or stop the heart directly via exploitations of precise pressure points.
Honestly it's kind of weird that there's more, like, blondes running around than Chinese people in Soul Society... Oh, but speaking of...
It's definitely not the most direct reference, but Kira's Wabisuke has a unique hook shape that really only has one parallel in real world weapons, and that's the Chinese hook swords. But those are traditionally used in a pair, not alone, and have a more curved shape than Wabisuke's rigid right angles, so it's very probably just kind of coincidence.
On a similar note though, Hisagi's Kazeshini also resemble, at least superficially, a set of Chinese weapons called Jī zhuǎ lián[雞爪鐮]: "chicken claw sickles." A more obvious comparison might be made to kama, as they are small single hand scythes with more Okinawan origins and are commonly either used in pairs or attached to a chain(although not typically to a second scythe but to a counter weight/bullet), but notably the chicken claws do have a second blade on the back end as well as a spike, which are notably not present on any kama. Again though it's also possible that Kubo just wanted wacky fantasy scythes and there's only so many combinations of sharp things on a stick you can really make...
Moving right along there's actually a quite a few little nods to Chinese styles in the Arrancar. The first and most obvious was Shawlong Koufang[シャウロン・クーファン] who's got a clearly Chinese name, even though Kubo chose to give it some funky romanization. It's probably meant to evoke Xiǎolóng[小龍] meaning "little dragon" which might be meant to read as a kind of epithet for a long narrow bug like the earwig his sword is named after. His hair style is also clearly meant to evoke the cue hairstyle typical of qing dynasty period dramas. His straight back, hands behind the back posture, cool demeanor and neatly zipped up color and long coat tail is also very evocative of a certain character type in old kung fu films; the very calm and controlled master with very minimal movements casually sidestepping attacks and countering with sharp efficient snappy movements.
And while I don't know that I'd otherwise have pegged him as a specifically Chinese kind of caricature, something about the proximity to Shawlong does make me think Nakeem Grindina counts as well, even though his name is not nearly as evocative. We barely got to see anything form him, which doesn't help pinpoint him by way of characterization, but he does feel kind of reminiscent of a young Sammo Hung; famous martial arts actor who came up right along side the likes of Jackie Chan in the 70s and 80s. He's notably got a huskier body type not typically found in kung fu films.
There's also Choe Neng Poww[チーノン・ポウ] who, like Shawlong, has a weirdly romanized name but that retains a vaguely chinese phonetic quality to it; I frequently forget that the actual Japanized Chinese phonetics are "CHII NON' POU" which just isn't remotely reflected in the romanization, even within the fucked up bounds of how messy romanizing Chinese is. Anyway, he doesn't really appear to be based on anyone or anything in particular, but he is drawn with features very common in historical cases of Chinese men with medical gigantism, with the long face and square jaw, of whom there are several. Oh he does have a kind of chinese style outfit, complete with little Chinese slipper/kung fu shoe lookin things.
(I used a picture of Zhan Shichai largely just because he's an old enough case to have toured around the world as an oddity when there was still a pretty rigid different in ethnic fashions --like, half the other cases of gigantism in China are in the past 50 years so the photos of just of like a guy in a shirt and slacks.)
And then there's Ggio Vega, who, like Nakeem, definitely doesn't appear to have a Chinese name at all, yet his outfit and style are very distinctly kung fu film inspired. Like Shawlong he's got the cue braid, and that particular era of cheongshan that I don't really know how to place... It vanished after the communist revolution, but I don't know how far back it goes or when it was most recognizable? (I associate it with the Republic Era(early 1900s) in historical dramas, but I don't know if that's accurate?)
Anyway... Cyan Sung-sun also has a super China-girl sort of aesthetic going for her. A very classically petite and demure, elegant but kind of haughty look and feel. It's kind of adjacent to the Yamato-Nadeshiko or hime character types, but different? The long sleeves also feel very specific to something that I can't quite put my finger on.... Plus as I've mentioned before her resurreccion seems to be a direct nod to the classic Chinese myth of the "Madam White Snake."
Oh but circling back for Aaroniero, but technically Kaien, I forgot his Nejibana is actually a type of "double halberd" called a Shuāng jǐ[雙戟] but Kubo clearly wanted it to evoke a trident. Of note there are a variety of Chinese style tridents and pronged polearms, but this isn't one of them. The halberd specifically has a blade on one or both sides, rather than stabbing prongs. But what pegs it as a Chinese weapon is again the distinctive horsehair tassels.
And then of course we've got Cang Du[蒼都] who is actually the only other character that Kubo gave a proper Chinese name like he did Sui-Feng. Despite how Kubo romanized it, the Japanese phonetics are actually SHI-A-N' TU[シァン・トゥ]. He sports a much more pre-western style of old wushu attire but of course with the extra quincy flair, including a neat pair of metal tipped kung fu shoes.
He also has his one off little snake fang attack, despite not seeming to have any other snake motif... It doesn't have a specific style to it, but given the proximity to the whole wushu thing, it seems like a loose reference to 5-animal style kung fu's snake-style. Moreover, his Schrift being the Iron, in the context of his martial arts thing, seems to be a play on Iron Shirt kung fu, which is that one set of stunts you often see shaolin monks performing where they seemingly resist all damage to themselves under impossible looking circumstances.
Oddly of all the things going on with him, the wolverine claws aren't really any kind of a traditional Chinese martial arts weapon at all. They really seem to have more in common with Japanese ninja cliches, and the X-men character Wolverine than anything else...
Another one I've mentioned before is Yadomaru Risa, although hers is easily the weakest of these... She doesn't actually come across as specifically Chinese on the face of things, but there are a few odd little nods that seem to add up over the course of her appearances. Her shikai has very Chinese martial arts aesthetics about it(Personally I associate it with the same monks spade mentioned in relation to Ikkaku, if only because it's the only thing with anything close to that extremely wide blade, but it's definitely not a perfect fit...) and if barely fleeting she does appear to use Chun-li's spinning bird kick, from street fighter, and when the Visored are introduced they each seem to have a distinct outdated style about them, hers being hard to place, as the sailor-fuku has a pretty broad history, but it notably doesn't not include the period across the second sino-japanese to second world war, in which the Japanese occupation of China did see a lot of Chinese children sent to Japan for education and effectively indoctrination.
But maybe most confusing is that her one off attacking fighting Gerard Valkyrie appears to reference the controversial conditions of surrender that Japan demanded of China during WWI that set the groundwork for the coming invasion of the continent and occupation of Manchuria in the coming decades??? Which is a bizarre deep cut on Kubo's part. In general her motifs don't seem to actually add up, unless they're just supposed to be a disparate array of cliche otaku girl things?? The school uniform, the smut, the videogame rather than chinese part of the chun li thing, the chinese history, the gundam mask, etc... Again, she is verymuch the weakest link here...
But like is there some kind of Chinese soul society these people are coming from?? is there some kind of old feudal Chinese celestial bureaucracy with cool kung fu encofrcers the way there's just weird dragons and witches kicking around reverse london?

Oh right so I guess part of where this train of thought was going was just that there's actually a lot of fun room for some sort of Bleach kung fu AU sorta deal; if only I was more capable of producing fan art to sort of anchor this all into something more tangible or coherent... And Kubo has kind of dabbled in this before; as have the BBS art team, in that one singular awkward "Orient Society" AU banner they ran and then never added any other characters to...
But there are plenty of characters that neatly fit into existing archetypes and styles.
Yamamoto, while exceedingly Japanese themed, was originally the spitting image of the old willow haired kung fu master, specifically with his long eyebrows.
Obviously Tousen fits the blind wiseman and master role, although the blind swordsman is more a Japanese, Zatoichi thing.
Kukaku and even Yamamoto fit the one armed boxer and/or one armed swordsman.
Kyoraku (and maybe Iba for lack of any other identifiable features?)slots into drunken boxing.
Ukitake into taichi-chuan with his implicit onmyo theme.
Chad and Ggio can easily be turned into Tiger style practitioners. (Maybe Yoruichi by virtue of cat and her raijin thunder does loop back to tiger print?)
Ganju and Abirama, Eagle style.
Kukaku and Byakuya, and the rest of the Kuchiki via their family crest, and i dunno... maybe Lille Barro? could all practice Crane style.
Grimmjow fits Leopard style, and I guess if we really want to stretch the leopard to panther to black cat connection Yoruichi and Yuushiro can fit in here too.
Hiyori, sort of Renji, and... uh, I guess The Roar(?) can use Monkey style.
Gin, Sung-sun, and kind of technically Renji again, and Cang Du of course, can all slot into Snake style.
Renji again again could fit dog boxing, ala his "stray dog" moniker in certain chapter titles focused on his past.(Oddly there's not really any kind of a wolf based kung fu archetype somehow, dunno what that means for Starrk and Komamura, but they are both kind of stryas in their own way...)
Hitsugaya, Ikkaku, and Tatsuki all get Dragon style. Gantenbein too actually...
But then Toshiro has "lion" in his name so maybe a lion dancer gimmick works too? Throw Mila Rose in there. Maybe Kon?
Nnoitra gets Mantis style to himself.
Loly actually can fit into the very specific fictional Centipede style, from the movie 5 Deadly Venoms --not sure what to do with the other 3 though.... they don't have obvious direct matches to Scorpion, Lizard, and Toad styles.(the 5th is just a fictional Snake style)
I feel like Sui-feng, Barragan, and Askin could all get some variation of instant death moves like the Dim Mak.
Actually I guess the whole 4th division could get acupuncture style gimmicks
I dunno it would just be really fun to do a big kung fu reskin of the cast and shuffle them into little schools together. Honestly if i had more patience I'd go tracking down a bunch of old movie fight scenes, and try to clip out exemplar bits for each style and make gifs of them for visual aide, but like... that's a lot of work. and i'm lazy

Overheard AU.
This is a very rough draft of an AU I wrote ages ago but haven't polished. Thought I might post it to see thoughts.
Summary: You really shouldn't talk about secrets in an open area like the street.

It starts with Tanaka Jin. He’s nothing special. He’s just a man with a sick child who is a fan of All Might. He’s lost his job and he’s struggling to find a new one when he barely has any worthwhile skills. He has a license for Quirk use given he can’t turn his off, but most are weirded out by his ability to be able to tell exactly what you want to eat.
He’s nothing special and when he sees All Might saving a kid from a villain made of sludge he stops to point his camera at the man. When he sees the hero run off, he follows. He wants his son to be happy, stuck in the hospital all day. Maybe a picture or video of the man a little closer will take his son’s mind off the bills the boy knows is piling up.
What he finds is All Might deflating and revealing a secret to a young boy.
He gets it on film.
Tanaka isn’t a bad man. He’s nothing special
But he’s a desperate man.
He would delete the video but he thinks of his son in the hospital, ill and not getting better. He thinks of the fact he lost his job. He thinks of his dead wife. He thinks of the fact the bills are getting higher and the fact he has very little in savings.
He’s not a bad man. Just desperate.
Later it’s what prevents him from being punished with more than probation.

The news doesn’t run the video for a week. They want to check and double-check it, make sure it’s real.
It is and it runs on a Friday morning.
All Might learns about it when his PR agent blows up his phone, screaming. He watches it as his agent rants.
“I need to go.” He tells her and she stops.
“It’s true isn’t it.”
He doesn’t answer, just hangs up and runs.
His agent, a young woman named Akiko who refuses to use her last name and has a Quirk that has her gain energy from the sun, swears. Loudly and colorfully in seven different languages before she grabs her laptop.
Fuck you Yagi, she thinks before she throws herself into work.
Meanwhile, Izuku and his mother stare at the TV. It’s a day off of school thanks to a villain attack- though online schooling was there as was common for those incidents- and Izuku had just returned from his run when the video played.
His mother watches and then turns to him. He stared at her.
“... I believe in you.” She says and she means it even as her heart screams and her worries fill her. She believes in him. She knows he wants to be a hero, knows he’d claw and climb his way to it and she knows he’ll be hurt.
A Quirk will help him.
Izuku breaks down in his mother’s arms as she hugs him.
Toshinori shows up and knocks on the door while Izuku begins a light workout, worried about the media. Inko lets him in and they sit down to speak, all three.
The secret is out and Inko prepares for a press conference with Akiko while Toshinori calms Izuku and promises he won’t change his mind even if others offer.
It’s the start of a future with the two women threatening the men in their lives, while the men leave the women to their plotting.
It’s safer that way.

The press conference takes place a week and two days after the video is released. All Might stands there with Izuku by his side, both dressed nicely.
All Might deflates a minute in and listens to the yelling.
“Please, calm down,” he asks and they listen, waiting. “It is true. My Quirk is known as One for All and is able to be passed from holder to holder as a sacred torch. And yes, I am going to be passing it down due to an injury that has severely limited me these past years.” Izuku is shaking beside him but manages to give a small smile to the crowd. “Young Midoriya Izuku is my chosen successor and has started his training already.”
“What’s his original Quirk?!” Shouts a voice and Toshinori makes a choice. It wasn’t bad when he was young but he’s heard things, seen how other pros wrinkle their noses and make comments, he’s seen the rise in statistics.
He doesn’t know but he’s aware.
“Like I am, Midoriya is biologically Quirkless.” He speaks and he sees the young boy turn to stare while everyone falls silent. “Due to this, we need to do a very hard workout for him to be able to earn the Quirk before the entrance exams.” He continued, ignoring the questions as he gave a small overview of his Quirk, admitting it also stockpiled Quirks and that was why he could hover for long periods of time. He spoke fondly of his mentor before he finally opened the floor to questions.
“Why chose Midoriya? Is it due to your shared origins?” Asks one.
“I chose him due to him showing me what it means to be a hero again. He inspired me to push beyond my time limit to save someone and I knew I had found my successor in a young teen who would run to help someone no matter what.” Vague and simple.
“Midoriya, what do you think of this?”
“... uh it’s a dream come true. I’ve always admired All Might and training with him is amazing.” Young Midoriya says and Toshinori smiles at him before the questions continue.
“All Might! Why not give it to someone with a Quirk?” Toshinori wants to growl. He wants to glare.
Instead, he lets Midoriya speak.
“Well as he said it can also potentially stockpile Quirks to. It makes sense to occasionally have a Quirkless successor to keep them low. Too many can potentially destroy a body due to the unstable factor of the Quirks.” Midoriya offers.
“Are you worried about Quirk Singularity?” Asks another paper. Midoriya perks up so Toshinori lets him continue.
“Oh! Well potentially? It makes sense but that’s just one theory and while it is possible that Quirks are outgrowing humans, human adaptability means that most likely we will create things to help us. Most likely support gear or the such. Though there is also the Wave Theory that shows some promise but then if that happens we don’t need to worry about to many Quirks stockpiling.”
“Wave Theory?” Asks a few reporters. Izuku blinks and then continues.
“The Wave Theory was proposed a few years back. Basically, the idea is that various myths, legends, and folklore are actually signs of Quirks. A scientist proposed the Wave Theory as a theory in which every few hundred or so years humans gain powers for a period of time before they vanish.” Midoriya explains. “It makes sense when you look at it. Magic and accusations of witchcraft could have been Quirks, while various sightings of dragons, elves and so on could have been mutations…”
“... why has this theory never been known before?!?” Asks a reporter who has pulled out a different notebook to write this down. Midoriya’s face falls.
“The one who did the research and created the theory was a Quirkless scientist who was murdered. No effort to find her killer was ever found and because she was Quirkless her research was never believed.” Midoriya says bluntly. Silence fills the room. “Her name was Dr. Kennedy Johnson and she was American.”
The conference ends on a quiet note. Toshinori can see their eyes.
They’re thinking statistics themselves.
He places a hand on Midoriya’s shoulders and the boy smiles at him.
He smiles back.

At UA, a teacher without a class watches the conference and sighs.
“You want me to help?” He asks his boss and the white rodent laughs.
“Oh yes. He needs a helping hand I think.” Aizawa Shouta groans but smirks to himself.

Now that the secret was out, now that people spoke about it to each other, heroes began picking up patrols. They made sure to be seen, made sure to do their job.
Some so they could rise in the ranks. Some because a part of them looks at All Might with a hole in his side and still working to his limit and feel guilt.
A few because they recognize that boy and feel guilt as well.
One because he’s angry and bitter and hates the fact that he will never beat All Might now. That everything was for nothing and that he had done what he’d done for nothing.
But they patrol. And some make sure to swing by where the tiny successor goes to school and lives, to keep him safe.
The police do too. They watch and keep an eye out. This boy will receive a Quirk bigger than him. He’s a successor to an empire. He cannot fall.
Teachers at Izuku’s school begin treating him differently. They try to win his favour. Izuku ignores it, not caring.
It’s only now they care? Only now they want him to like them?
He gets angry and rants to his mom, rants to All Might about it, and both promise to come down hard on Aldera. Just not yet. Izuku is too busy, too focused. He can’t have a scandal now.
Pity he won’t get a choice.

Bullies don’t go away because someone becomes popular. Some do but others, others angry that the Quirkless freak, the Quirkless waste of space is getting a Quirk, getting what they should have…
They don’t.
They plan it out, and approach Bakugou Katsuki for help.
Katsuki is an angry child. He’s angry and bitter and he’s got a complex about being the best. He has to be the best. Deku, stupid Deku, has always looked down on him he knows this-
He ignores the whispers he’s an idiot and he had fallen from a high spot and of course someone would check on him-
He doesn’t think, not really. In another life he would throw himself at a boy his first day of school, risking it all. In another life he would ignore orders not to use gauntlets that could kill during an exercise because he thinks Deku looks down upon him. In another life he would push and push and force himself into something because he wants to know the secret. All his life consequences have missed him due to his Quirk, due to the fact no one cares about the Quirkless boy. Katsuki is a genius, but he is still a boy confined by his own thoughts and beliefs.
Is it any surprise he joins a plan to beat down Deku? Any surprise he wants Deku to know his place?
They corner Deku after school, right behind it. A teacher sees but looks away. They agree with the boys. Others deserve it more.
The groups only can do a bit of damage before a grey scarf is tanking them away, as wood grabs them and as a voice shouts.
“Don’t you move, I’m going to be looking into why a teacher let this happen.”
Aizawa looks down at the young boy and sees another in his place and knows in his bones that he won’t let this kid fail, even as he drags away the boys, grabbing the teacher who looks pale.
He will make sure this kid succeeds.
No one notices the reporter until the next day when the papers scream:
ALL MIGHT’S SUCCESSOR BEATEN WHILE TEACHER WATCHES.
It’s a storm and a half. Aldera is torn apart and every way they had treated Izuku is released by the young secretary who had cared for him and tried to help.
People are asked opinions and heroes glare at the school. They snarl out opinions and spit out their thoughts. UA releases a statement they will help with the lawyers if needed as does a hundred different schools. Some offer to have Izuku complete his final year with them.
It’s a mess. More so when Endeavour speaks.
“Endeavour!” One reporter manages to corner him. “What are your thoughts on the Aldera situation?”
“... one of my sons is Quirkless. The entire reason he is homeschooled is to prevent things like Aldera from happening to him.” Endeavour spits out. “Places like Aldera are cesspools.”
“Why didn’t anyone know about this?” Asks the reporter. “Why hide your-“
“My wife wanted to.” Endeavour snaps. “If you want I can release the videos of our discussions about it. My wife is mentally unwell and struggled with the idea of a Quirkless child. She loves him dearly but…” he sighs. “I have no care but due to her place in a mental institution I have kept silent so it would not set her back. With all this going on though I am speaking out about it. Being a bigot is disgusting.” It’s all he says and he leaves, unaware of the fact his children had watched and now are ripping things apart in confusion, only one knowing anything and looking at her brothers in worry.
Another watches and bares his teeth in anger.
But for Izuku the words of a pro hero known to be a traditionalist, known to be a jerk, known to be unpleasant… his words affect everyone too. If Endeavour thinks it’s disgusting…
Then he knows they truly are wrong. Everyone.

“He wasn’t the worst.” Izuku speaks. He’s sitting in a courtroom, a day off from his training to participate in the lawsuit. It had suddenly been put in court fast. Very fast but given that All Might’s successor was involved, was it any wonder. “Kaa… Bakugou wasn’t the worst.”
“Oh?” Asks the lawyer presenting the schools. “According to the teachers he-“
“He was the most verbal.” Izuku agreed, cutting him off. “He was the most verbal. But I’ve only known him to use his Quirk twice on me. Every other student did it often.” Izuku stands to show off his arms, detail a kid with spikes who would lean in to close on purpose in front of the teacher, speaking of one of Bakugou’s friends with long fingers who would shove them down his throat to choke him out. Bakugou would beat him up but rarely use his Quirk- not after he had been scolded harshly for using explosives on others. “I remember one time a student put spider lilies on my desk and a teacher pulled out a vase. Bakugou grabbed both and exploded them.”
“Sources say he told you to jump off a roof and pray for a Quirk in the next life,” the lawyer presses.
“And a teacher put a knife on my desk after a Quirkless girl slit her wrists,” Izuku says and the lawyer stops, stares and turns. Said teacher has gone very pale in the crowd.
Izuku is only kind of amused when the lawyer right there resigns, stating there is a limit and they crossed it, agreeing to take any penalties offered.
It’s a pretty clear victory for Izuku and his side, and they walk out without a backward glance.
As well, Izuku had managed to get something for Ka… Bakugou.
His mom told him that she didn’t think he should keep using his nickname and Izuku had to agree. It had stopped being a friendly thing years before and holding on did no good- not after he decided to beat him up simply for getting a possible Quirk.
Bakugou would be allowed to attend a hero school under probation. If he attends UA with Izuku they would not be allowed in the same class or be allowed to fight against each other. He would be monitored.
It’s enough. Izuku hopes it’s enough.
Meanwhile, the hero who had helped him during the beating is still around. He’s Eraserhead and Izuku is so excited to meet him.
He’s the one who comes up with a plan for schooling. Izuku is homeschooled now and spends most days on the beach. Eraserhead is often with him shouting out lessons or using the trash to teach. Sometimes other heroes come by to help.
Izuku is taught by a variety of heroes as he works and he finds himself thriving where before he would not.
“It takes a village,” he overhears his mother say to Eraserhead. “Thank you all.”
“He’s a good kid from what we’ve seen. He’s inheriting a big legacy.”
“Yes. Yes, he is.”

Izuku is given the hair the day of the regular exam- though he’s not taking it. That had been discussed with Nezu, Eraserhead, Yagi and multiple others who all agreed he would need more training before using his Quirk. Instead, he was to take the recommendation exam- which was a giant race through an obstacle field. He wouldn’t need a Quirk, just his mind for that.
He takes the hair and swallows, making a face. It’s just him and All Might, the others having agreed not to show up.
“I’m proud of you,” Yagi tells him. “You’ve come far.” Izuku hums and looks over the beach, cleaned and clear.
“...Thanks All Might,” he tells his hero. The man laughs.
“Nothing of it young Midoriya.”
Izuku will go to UA as the successor of All Might.
He wonders what the world had in store for him.

What if due to how the magic transfers when Jaune looks at a maiden he sees silhouette of the previous maidens but they aren't actual ghost just small fragments of the soul that are emotionless husks that follow the maiden around
I assume you mean Voices AU
But yeah, he can see scraps of the previous Maidens following the current ones around. The more recent they are, the more solid/comprehensible they are
Obviously the most recent one is completely understandable, they’re just a standard ghost. I’m talking Amber, and Penny, and Fria, and Un-Named-Girl-That-Raven-Killed. The Maiden powers aren’t like Ozma’s reincarnation, the previous souls aren’t entirely dissolved, so Maiden spirits can stick around, two, three iterations back
Spirits weren’t meant to stick around that long though. They’re tied to the powers, a side affect that Ozma never intended, and in fact never knew about because his magic gets so drained by creating the Maidens in the first place (Salem can see spirits, Ozma can’t. She has all her magic still)
So the further removed from the current Maiden, the less intelligible the spirit becomes, and the less solid of a grasp they have on themselves. Other than the closest three or four, the rest of the Maidens are just wisps of glowing smoke, incapable of life or death, happiness or sorrow. They can’t speak or think, they’re just trapped following the current holder of the powers
It’s not really worse than death, because they’re not really sentient anymore. They might as well be smoke for all the thoughts they have
The original Maidens are still there, but they’re not even bodies anymore. Just wisps of smoky energy following the Maidens around. That’s how most of the Maidens look at this point, but the original ones are distinct simply because they were the first. Their colors are more vibrant, instead of just looking like faintly glowing white smoke

The Hound of the Baskervilles: Mr. Sherlock Holmes
Doyle wrote this on his return from the Second Boer War, where he'd been a volunteer physician at a field hospital.
In 1898, he had written a short story called "The King of the Foxes", having been a fox-hunter for a while. It deals in rather similar themes and is seen as a forebearer to The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Originally serialised in installments in The Strand in 1901, this third of the Sherlock Holmes novels was published in book form in 1902, getting a US release at the same time.
Penang is a state of what is now Malaysia, located on the western coast of the peninsula of that country linked with the rest of Asia. A small and densely-populated state, it consists of Penang Island with the state capital George Town and the mainland, mainly comprising the city of Seberang Perai, today with a population of nearly 950,000. The area was a British colony at the time.
Made from palm cane from Licuala acutifida, the bulbous-headed "Penang lawyer" may be a mispronuncation of the local term pinang liyar or come from the fact it was believed to be used as a method of dealing with disputes, by hitting people with the big end. The Southern and Eastern African knobkerrie is similar in appearance.
One also turns up on "Silver Blaze", where it is considered as a possibility for the weapon used to murder John Straker.
M.R.C.S. stands for Membership of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons, a qualification at post-graduate level for surgeons. Once you get it, you can use the post-nominal letters.
The Charing Cross Hospital was located on Agar Street and was a major medical school. It still is, although it moved location in 1973 to Hammersmith, retaining its name, in a new massive hospital building; it had been decided after the Second World War that it would a good idea to move such a major medical facility out of Central London - it had become cramped in any event. The old site in Agar Street is now Charing Cross Police Station.
House surgeons were recent medical graduates carrying out surgery in a hospital under supervision. The term is still used today, covering a six-month placement in what other places call medical internships.
I believe Medical Officers dealt with general medical issues at the local level, like contagious diseases, sanitation and hospital management.
Parishes are the smallest level of local government administration in England. Historically, civil parishes and ecclesiastical parishes were the same thing, but state and church gradually moved apart, with 1894 seeing the final separation. Many have since disappeared, but about 40% of the English population remain in a civil parish, mostly in rural and urban areas. These range in size from a few hundred people to over 100,000, with Northampton being the largest. There has been somewhat of a revival of parishes in the 21st century, they can be created via petition and have often been set up to replace boroughs where unitary authorities have merged those with county councils. Milton Keynes is an example, now with ten parishes.

A frock coat is a knee-length mens' coat with a skirt-like bottom, popular in this period. It was used as formal day wear, but by 1889 was being replaced by the morning coat in that regard. It ceased being required at the royal court in 1936, but still turns up in some places; like officers of the Household Division. The "Teddy Boys" (and Girls) youth subculture of the 1950s to 1970s also were fans.

Headspace
Bright Field
Bright Field is the topmost layer of Headspace. It consists of a white void that has a sort of ground. At the center of Bright Field is the Control Dome, a hollow black metal dome that houses our fronting interface. Across from the Control Dome is the Tavern, where most layers of Headspace meet. Inside the Tavern there is a bar that gives us access to likely symbolic beverages, some of which can trigger emotions on command. Nearby is the Link Arch, a stone archway that holds a portal back to Michael's source world. As far as I know, only he can use it. Floating in circles around the other structures of Bright Field is the Memory Library, two bookshelves filled with memories from everyone in the system constructed on a small floating island.
Origin
Origin is the layer directly below Bright Field. It is the layer where new headmates form, and, as we learned from Wraith, is one of the places where the subconscious is capable of harming us. The easiest way to get in or out of Origin is through one of the doors in the Tavern, but there are other ways (the same goes for most other layers of Headspace)
Fiction Space
Fiction Space is by far the largest layer of Headspace, and is the only one that can be interacted with without the need to actually be in the layer. Fiction Space is, as the name suggests, where a lot of the fiction made and consumed by us is stored. Fiction Space is far too vast to be fully described, even individual regions of it are incredibly complex because of how much time we've spent building it.
Headspace Facts
There are gaps in the fabric of Headspace that can be used to travel to other layers without having to return to the Tavern
Bright Field is the only truly safe layer of Headspace. The other layers can injure and even kill headmates
Headspace only lets those it deems skilled enough to survive traverse all of the layers
If the body is listening to music, it will be played in all of Bright Field as well

Jeckyll and Hyde Miraculous AU
Miraculous has come up again in my hyperfixation cycle, so I’ve decided to revive an old concept I never had the time or energy to do anything with. In fact, I’ll probably just drop this and then disappear into obscurity again. I love the idea of the civilians and superheroes actually being different people - sort of a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde situation. (More directly inspired by Jackson Jekyll and Holt Hyde from Monster High; I never read the original Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde so I don’t know how much of an accurate representation it is.) So instead of the miraculous holder having a Kwami that transforms them into a superhero, the miraculous basically allows the superhero person to “possess”? the person. The holder and superhero share a body, though the appearance transforms when the superhero “takes over.” The holder/host is completely unaware that they are the superheroes/that the superheroes are inhabiting their same body, other than they black out for extended periods of time and come to in different places or situations than they last remember. The heroes, meanwhile, are aware enough that they are inhabiting another person’s body and they’re aware enough of their lives to know things they need to know to protect their identities - where they live and go to school, who their family is, etc. But they don’t share memories with the host so they don’t feel the same way about people. They’re their own separate person with their own separate ideas, relationships, and personalities.
Key Differences from Canon Rather than “miraculous holders” being chosen based on their own personality traits (ie Marinette and Adrien both showed kindness and self-sacrifice in helping Fu), it’s based on if their auras are comparable with and can sustain the miraculous. No kwamis Since holders/hosts don’t really realize they’re the superheroes/villains (am gonna have to come up with a name for this persona/form of them), the miraculous can’t be misused in the sense that the person chooses to use it for evil. Instead, the miraculous itself, and thus the “possessor”, is corrupted and evil. The holder/host may even be a good person and not realize their alter ego is evil. Opposite can be true with heroes, as well.
Marinette

Have you heard that Spider was originally supposed to be Mexican? It's a pity they removed it
I’m gonna be real with you - I’ve never bought into that. Before these original scripts I always just assumed Javier was a place holder name, something they just gave to the press to not give away the fact that his birth name was Miles thus giving away the fact that he’s Quaritchs son. Im not as sure of this anymore after reading the original script but now I’m just kinda confused. One there is no description of Spider beyond that he’s 14 with wild hair. The og script never described his ethnicity. If there’s sources saying otherwise I’d love to see them cause if it was they’re intention to have Spider be latino then yeah, why did they change that? It seems weird to me just to change that on a whim. Maybe they did blind casting and Jack Champion just really won them over. I just have no idea why they would change that otherwise if it was really their intention from the start.

General Ideas around ☆Daycare Sekai AU☆
It takes place after 3rd anniversary.
The 2nd years (All of L/n, MinoHaru, all of VBS, EmuNene, Mizuki) are all deaged to 6 year old children and lost their memories.
While the 3rd years (ShizuAiri, RuiKasa, KanaMafuEna) are aged up to 27 year old adults yet retained their memories.
They all stay together inside Kanade's house and the Sekais out of fear of getting recognized in public then proceed to get into trouble.
When they do go outside, they create fake names (Rui helped make fake ID cards) and disguise themselves, except Mafuyu.
Mafuyu is Transmasc and he transed so hard nobody recognized him. (Fun fact : I showed his design to a few mutuals and nobody recognized that hes Mafuyu)
Unfortunately Mizuki, Kohane and Shiho (AMAB) will be referred as He/Him and Akito (AFAB) will be reffered as She/Her. However that is only used around the children or directly to them. The adults refer to them as normally as they would once in private.
Kohane, Shiho and Akito are given nicknames since the adults can't bring themselves to call them by their deadnames but also feels weird to call them by their current name.
The Sekais are revealed to eachother. Stage Sekai, Wonderland Sekai and Empty Sekai are revealed by their respective holders while Tsukasa figured out School Sekai and Street Sekai due to his suspicion of L/n and VBS having one too.
Some npcs eventually learns their current state like Ken, the Otori Siblings, Yuuki,.... (Old Hag™, Shinei and Harumichi not included)
The adults soon form somewhat a paternal/maternal bond towards the kids
This also carried on after all of them reverted back to their original bodies
"I once piggyback-rode both of you and broke my back." - Tsukasa "Old Man" Tenma to Saki Tenma and Toya Aoyagi-Tenma.
They usually have the kids play in Stage Sekai, Street Sekai and Wonderland Sekai.
As it tires the kids, they are put to naptime in School Sekai while the adults move to Empty Sekai and pass out.
13 fucking children are a pain, Kanade passed out once because she can't keep up with the energetic kids.
One time they got Ken babysit and all of the 3rd years passed out for one day.
Shizuku, Airi, Tsukasa and Rui still practices. Sometimes they decided to make it fun by performing a show for the kids to watch. Either on the stage in Stage Sekai or Wonderland Sekai.
The Kaitos, Meikos and Lukas are very off put with being younger than the 3rd years.
Meanwhile the Lens and Rins are very intrigued in finally being big siblings to the deaged 2nd years (Except for the Nightcord variant).

Listen, I could totally be biased here. I’ve stated multiple times that Mickey is my favorite character therefor I was rooting for him and Ian at conception. But I was having a conversation about Trevor to someone. They are utterly convinced that Ian and Trevor were meant to be together but the toxic Mickey fans got in the way. Ian and Trevor’s relationship going sour? Writer’s sabotage to appease the toxic Mickey fans. Trevor being cruel towards Ian about Monica? Writer’s sabotage to appease toxic Mickey fans. Ian cheating on Trevor the second Mickey steps back into the picture? Writer’s sabotage to appease the toxic Mickey fans.
I wasn’t in the writers room, obviously. But I think this is looking too deep into the situation. Now, originally Mickey wasn’t supposed to be a reoccurring character; just a side character you see once in a blue moon. But fans took a liking to him and the writers seized the opportunity to give him more depth. That was appeasing fans. That was giving them what they wanted when they voiced it.
Like I said, I don’t think the situation with Trevor was that deep. Trevor and Caleb had no depth to them. They didn’t even have last names. I doubt the writers were expecting these relationships to be the end all be all for Ian. They were forced and underdeveloped relationships. They ended up not being good relationships for Ian to be in. Caleb and Trevor brought out the worst in Ian. Ian brought out the worst in Caleb and Trevor. It’s. Not. That. Deep.
If you like Trevor and want an “explanation” for why he was done poorly, fine. But the fact of the matter is this, his relationship with Ian from the very beginning was a place holder. Noel wasn’t 100% done with the show. Cameron wanted Gallavich back more than the viewers did. They needed to fill the hole that Mickey left behind. What we got was two flat, bland, yet casually cruel characters. It wasn’t the writers sabotaging them. It was most likely the writers not knowing how to let Ian be alone.
I can admit when Mickey’s in the wrong. The beginning of season 11 was painful. But I don’t scream writer’s sabotage every chance I get. It’s just plain ridiculous to do so. Yes, there are times where they miss the marks on Mickey. For example, they just forget that Mickey is quite intelligent at the end of the show. But the thing with Caleb and Trevor is that we don’t get a good grasp on who they are outside of Ian’s boyfriends. We don’t know what’s OOC and what’s not. Criticize the writers for that. But don’t go making up stupid conspiracy theories about the writers.

The Art of Liquid Fire. Where did it come from?
A lot of people believe Rosalyne learned the liquid fire art through the Akademiya, I've always disagreed with this sentiment and this post expands on why.
The Akademiya Curriculum
Sumeru Akademiya is not a place you go to to learn practical elemental skills. We've heard from many npcs and playable characters alike, Spantamad focuses on the theory of the elements and observation and the other darshans aren't element focused at all.
All the alumni we've met, or know of, that have gone on to become vision holders did not hone these skills through the akademiya, rather they developed them externally, or after they'd completed their studies. While yes it made some of their studies easier, especially if they were a spantamad scholar, their practical elemental skills were developed after receiving divine recognition.
I don't know what Rosalyne studied at the Akademiya, we don't even know for certain what darshan she was in, Spantamad is most likely but it's yet to be confirmed. At the very most, her studies may have aided her practical elemental skills but the Akademiya did not teach them.
Very Little Is Known About The Art
Sumeru Akademiya is located in the nation of Wisdom, and since the Lawrence Clan burned down 4/5 of the Mondstadt Library, the akademiya has served (and still serves) as Teyvat's largest modern archive of knowledge.
It's very unlikely that the physical embodiment of the "Crimson Witch" was the art Signora learned,
"Rumour told of how she sacrificed her mortal body to become the embodiment of liquid fire herself"
instead her sacrifice seems to serve as the art in it's raw, most destructive and desperate form.
"And so the Crimson Witch continued to burn,"
The time it took for Rosalyne to turn into the Crimson Witch also indicates a gradual loss of control over her own powers.
It's an art that was supposedly once prosperous and reknowned, and only once has there ever been a Crimson Witch, I fail to see the Akademiya forbidding the knowledge because of the danger, and even if they did there would still be some evidence in the restricted section.
However its explicitly stated that the art was 'lost to time.' Implying this knowledge is no longer accessible at all, there's no one upkeeping a modern record of the art anywhere, and as a consequence it's been forgotten or abandoned in the process of social evolution and linguistic deviation.
Rosalyne's Youth
We know nothing about Signora's childhood, we have no confirmation she's from Mondstadt, and we have no mention of parents or siblings. We have only her name and her artifacts to go off of.
The etymology of her name has been discussed and dissected multiple times, but what stands out to me is not the meaning itself but the origin — this makes more sense later — "Lohefalter" is Old German, meaning 'blazing butterfly' showing her age by using Old German to source the etymology of her name.
Likewise, she's almost always exclusively referred to as a 'maiden,' meaning 'a girl, or (usually young), unmarried woman' given Rostam was most likely in his early 40s when he died I'm going to assume hyv is using the term maiden to refer to her marital status, or lack thereof, and not her age.
Aside from the one occasion she's referenced as an 'apprentice.' Given the fact that Mondstadt is based on the Holy Roman Empire and medieval Germany, I am working with the medieval definition of an apprentice, that being:
"An apprentice was a young person, most often male, who learned a trade by working for a guild master. Apprenticeships often began at age 12, and commonly lasted from two to seven years. Apprentices frequently lived at their master's house and were given room and board, but earned no money."
In comparison to 'her maiden years' Rosalyne would have been a young girl during her "Witch's Scorching Hat" days. This further extends her parallels with Childe as it alludes to a master or mentor whom she stayed with and worked under for a time in her adolescence. I'm inclined to believe Rosalyne was with this master for at least 6 years, as outside of this time period she's exclusively referred to as a maiden, making her at the very least 18 years old.
This makes sense with her timeline, and why Rosalyne appears to come out of nowhere, if she spent her youth outside of Mondstadt and moved there later after ending her apprenticeship.
Furthermore I always believed her comment in Liyue
"Just as a child quickly matures after losing their parents, so has Liyue matured when faced with the death of its deity..."
– to be about herself. We know from her artifacts that her mockery of Teppei's death, while it seemed like a morbid, out-of-pocket allegory, it can be reflected in her own story; and I don't believe her morbid comment about an orphan to be an exception.

which one of your Kwamis took the most time to create?
This is actually a hard question to answer, because so many of my kwamis went through so many different stages. Take my boy Graay for example-- he was my first OC kwami, and originally he was a kwami of Balance in a trio with Tikki and Plagg, he was the "price" of the wish, essentially. He was always Graay the Wolf who loved grapes and hated humans, but he's gone through so many changes since my original idea of him.
Originally he was going to be in a North American, his Miraculous not part of any Box, going to be found by a young girl who eventually changes his perception of humans. Also the holder that betrayed him was actually going to be a good person who sacrificed his very soul to save Graay, but Graay didn't realize it until years later. But the Graay I have today is very different than my original Graay, who while I've always had a Wolf kwami from the beginning, so you can say he took the most time to create with how much of his story changed even if his basic name and design was always the same.

Another kwami who went through a lot of change was Yuume. Yuume was always going to be an evil Sheep of Dreams, but my first version of him was of an ancient kwami who never got a Miraculous which made him bitter, and used Dreams to communicate with humans to act out his evil schemes. Now Yuume is a young kwami who does have a Miraculous-- and he hates that fact.

Then you have someone like Zipp, who've redesigned three times now (third version hasn't been posted yet) and I'm still I'm not sure I'm happy with it-- so he may be going through many more changes.
Or you have Koree, who was originally a Raccoon of Darkness named Corri (who was named a variation of Dusk before that) who I kept abandoning, then bringing back, then changing, then changing again, etc.
Then there's others whose concepts I've had for a while-- since I've started watching Miraculous I wanted a Snake kwami named Habu; but my friends told me not to bother because there was going to be a Snake kwami later on (this was when I was still catching up with the show). But what do you know the idea stuck around anyways and now I have Habuu my Rattlesnake and I love her.
Finally there's kwamis that just took forever to come up with and get right. When I decided on the idea of Alpha Kwamis and wanted to to make Graay part of a duo, I knew I wanted a Chaos kwami to be his other half. But it took me forever to figure out what animal I wanted for this Chaos kwami. At one point they were going to be a Dinosaur (a raptor of some kind if I remember right) named Voidd, but then I dumped that idea very quickly. I went through a lot of different animal ideas, asking others for their opinion on a Chaos animal, etc. I was stumped on creating a Chaos kwami for a long time, until it hit me that the perfect animal was right there the whole time: the platypus. A semi-aquatic, egg laying mammal (of action) with venomous spurs, looks like a combination of several animals, lacks a stomach, basically "sweats" milk, glows under UV light, can sense electricity... and I could go on. xD But perfect Chaos animal.
From there everything about Prrysm fell into place. I wanted her to have a hard time maintaining a physical form, to glitch in and out of reality, to be a rainbow of colors (which is where she got her name), and yeah.
This turned out to be a bit of an essay. xD But these are the ways I've had kwamis take the "longest", all in different ways.

Settlers Take What Was Not Their Own

Colonial powers send out their soldiers and their settlers to conquer and found their new lands. This has occurred in Australia, the Americas, and many places around the world. Named the New World for these European colonists who come as invaders and refugees from their old countries. Settlers seek to become masters of their new home. They, who were likely, excess to requirements from whence they came now want to take centre stage. Settlers are rarely, if ever, friends to those who are Indigenous to the newly conquered territories. Settlers take what was not their own.
What Do The Children Of Settlers Feel About The Defeated?
We, the children, of settlers – their descendants, live in a land painted white with our transplanted cultures. I would ask you. What do you feel when you see those dark skinned people, often, living on the edges of towns and cities? Do you sense their status as the progeny of the defeated? Amid the flag waiving celebrations with your many little union jacks on southern crosses what do you feel for those original people of this land? Settlers have damned the lives of generations of Indigenous people.
A Few Facts About Settlers
A few facts about settlers to consider. Many settlers come to the new land with relatively little. They brave wilderness and bear hardship. Quite naturally, they band together to support their pioneering efforts. In most instances, they bring with them a collective religious belief, which tells them they are justified in their theft of this land. Their imperial cultural narrative indemnifies their actions by condemning and belittling what has gone before them as savage and, therefore, inconsequential. Settlers take what was not their own and flip the bird in the face of all and any inquiry as to the moral rectitude of their behaviour. Settlers are, indeed, sanctified as the founding spirit of the new nation. The dominant cohort, then, worship in an increasingly Godless land at their memorial statues and plaques. “Possession of Australia was declared on the basis of unilateral possession. Indifference To The Sons & Daughters Of The Defeated Do yourself a favour and read David Marr’s new book on this topic. It is a balanced account of what actually went on, as his family ancestor led this tribal police force for many years. Modern Australia is so far removed from settler reality at this time that we have lost all touch with our history. Despite this the neglected realities of Indigenous Australians continue and we are seeing the outcome of this in places like Alice Springs. Here a number of Indigenous children, whose parents are often in gaol, are running amok breaking the law. You have to ask yourself what is going on here at the core. What do these kids have to live for? What is there for them to do? Are there any good jobs for them? Recreational pursuits? Nobody seems to care, the indifference to these fellow and sister members of our country and community is profound. The Peter Dutton’s of this world want to crush the dissent and lock up the law breakers. The end result of this is places like the United States with the largest prison population per capita in the world. Everyone will have to bear weapons and deadly force. Unfortunately, there are folk who wish they did live in the US and who seek to make Australia the 51st state. American domestic history is bathed in the blood of Native American Indians and African American slaves.

Settler DNA In Modern Oz Veins Settlers take what was not their own. The DNA of settlers is imbued in the blood of property owners today. Property ownership is a fever and collective aspiration of modern Australians. Owning your own home has become very expensive in response to this conflation of human and financial appetites. I think that we can trace this back to the settler DNA, which founded white Australia. Recently, I spent 9 months visiting the private properties of Queenslanders in the northern suburbs of Brisbane. This was a government agency involved in Biosecurity and it afforded me the opportunity to physically walk these properties and speak briefly with many owners and tenants.

Queensland Home Owners I encountered some of the concerns of these property owners, especially those with larger sites like hobby farms. Security is a major concern of these home owners and substantial investments had been made in gates, fences and guard dogs. There is, almost, a paranoia running through these folk fearing what bad people could and would do on their land. Following this I made a cursory examination of police and insurance data in these areas to check out what threats really existed. Crime rates are low and have consistently fallen over recent decades. My guess is that it is an urban myth this anxiety about burglars, house breakers and invaders. Perhaps, in the past there was some crime in their neighbourhood and stories about this have been shared and recounted over the years. Traditional media going online with clickbait crime porn like Channel 7 News sensationalise the few instances of violent crime. Our city populations are now in the millions and really you have to take statistical proportion into account of these things, despite their awfulness. Social media shares unsubstantiated gossip and misinformation in our current era about all sorts of things. Still, if you move into a new home next to someone who has high fences and guard dogs are you going to be the odd one out on this score? Not if the majority of your neighbours are in this protective camp mindset. Settler paranoia DNA? Maybe. The ghosts of keeping out the dark skinned true owners of this land? Perhaps. The crazy thing about many of these Queensland homes with their large yards enclosed by fences and gates was their default status. Covered in dog shit sums it up succinctly. Having walked them myself I can tell you this honestly, many were unusable due to this. Too few home owners pick up the dog turds in their yards and stepping on dog shit, especially a fresh one, is not a welcome thing. I could tell you about the grooves of the boots I wore and the challenge of removing this vile material from them. I could share the experience of the foul stench inside the Ute cabin from unchecked boots in a confined rubber-sealed space. I will not labour these points. Lastly, on this security issue I would mention the noise pollution that properties with multiple guard dogs produce. Dogs can be loving creatures as pets and I acknowledge this. However, they are medieval biotech when it comes to security and property protection. Dogs cannot differentiate friend from foe or neutral from nefarious agent to be more precise. Dogs bark aggressively and loudly at the postman, the metre reader, and all unknown visitors to a property. I can attest first hand that this barking goes on and on, especially when properties contain several dogs. Talk about messing with the serenity of nature for your own private property concerns. People complain about other manmade noise pollution like loud revving cars but guard dogs, it seems, are par for the course in the suburbs of Brisbane.

There is an undeniable anxiety or paranoia among some about reported home invasions and break-ins. Obviously, the sensationalising of these rare events cause disquiet among residents, especially older property owners. Businesses that sell gates, fences, home insurance, and the news have a vested interest in spreading shocking occurrences of violent crimes against people in their homes. This is how things work in free market economies. Create a market for things by hook or by crook. It is the way of the world, as they say. Do collective fears ever truly go away? If generations of people have strong feelings about things like the dangers inherent within the bush, what lives in the wild, what happens to these anxieties? They fade to the background but they do not completely disappear. Settlers took what was not their own. You suddenly see a dark face appear from around a corner on the street and it startles you. An instinctive fear pops up from nowhere, your heartbeat goes up, why is that? Why do you think? It is not rational and it has no logical or reasonable basis. Still, it exists and comes from our past, our ancestral DNA for many folk. Grave crimes against humanity and their consequences do not just disappear. Nobody is asking you or anyone else to feel guilty. There is this false claim about such things put forward by deniers of our history that this is the black or white stark choice available. This is wrong and not the case. Acknowledging the truth deepens you and us, it is not something to be feared or spurned. We cannot go through life walking on a thin and brittle surface, whilst ignoring the depth below us. Eventually, things break through and reach us. The Apolloverse

Welcome to my blog! Here you'll find all my OCs for fandom and not fandom-related content. To start out, I'm going to a couple things clear about myself:
Currently this is the only blog I am using---While you may see my original account that has now been based around Last Legacy, and another side account I have, I am only cohesively using this one.
You can refer to me as Apollo (though this name is just a place holder for this account because I am no longer comfortable with being called Ayla) and I use they/them. Also I know when I first starting posting my account was called "themajorarcanalesbian" but I would no longer refer to myself as a lesbian, just queer for now.
While there may be some mature content on this blog, it won't be a lot because I feel my writing and drawing skills cannot adequately portray that sort of stuff without sounding, well, cringe. That being said, be aware that I will likely reblog mature content from my mutuals as they freely post that content, and I will always want to share it.
Last but not least, the only character I have that is associated with The Arcana universe is Astarium, who only remains in that fandom because the storyline set up for the game adds to their character in a way I feel I might not be able to at the moment (cough cough, writers block) The rest of my characters remain in what you will see tagged as #theapolloverse as their universe doesn't have a set name!

Astarium The Magician | They/Them - Queer | Asta, remaining in the arcana verse, takes the storyline of the apprentice, only a few things differentiating. They grow up in Prakra and run away after their father passes because they fear their mother will abandon them. At first, they are put on stage to be ogled at, from age 12 to 15, before they eventually make their way to Vesuvia. They meet Asra, stay with him for a long while, and when the plague hits, they fear death when it becomes clear that their healing magic, just like with their father, cannot heal the people of Vesuvia. Asra assumes their dead for many months, but Asta only dies the day before Asra revives them, so they remain with their memories of the plague, and seeing Asra with Julian. This is important because it has an effect on each storyline no matter what love interest you choose, because Astarium never actually wanted to be brought back to life! Asta's information, and any HCs or drawings, will be under the tag #astariumthemagician or #astathemagician

Juno, The Mad King | He/Him - Bisexual | Juno Ara Malik, a bastard child who, yes, is his father's son, but his mother was not of royal decent. Juno's father is not completely to blame for this, as his wife, The Queen, passed away of an illness, and he had to resort to sleeping with a servant to produce an heir, otherwise his line would've been endangered. Juno will not take after his father though, his cousin Amaria will; ergo why Juno's father had him take over a small Provence at the age of 14. He felt bad that his son would not be able to take after his footsteps. Juno was raised by his teachers, servants, and guards when he was sailed across the sea to Roya. His grandmother took no interest in him besides hating him, she would regular burn his hands and back, and he remains to have a scar on his face from her dagger. In fact, her treatment only resulted in Juno growing to be spiteful and cruel in some ways, and at the age of 17, he decapitated her in a purple blaze. Her very own sword being used to do the beheading. Juno's information, and any HCs or drawings, will be under the tag #Juno Ara Malik

Jayda, The Golden Handed Servant | He/Him - Omnisexual | Jayda grew up similarly to Asra in a way, living off the streets with nobody to raise him, only learning from the books he stole and the lessons he was taught by strangers. Sure, the people of his city got to know him, and he even got many of them to give him free stuff, but nobody offered him a home. He remained on the streets until the age of 16, when he met Zahra, who had ran away from a forced marriage. At the age of 30, Jayda seeks out the Magician (not specifically the one in the Arcana) , who offers him one wish. Jayda wishes to be more virtuous, to be a man of the people, and the magician grants him that. Of course, working with a major arcana can have its drawbacks, so Jayda is changed into an almost completely different man. The once confident man had gained the gift of awareness, which has made him hypersensitive to every single thing he does, including his actions and physical state. The gift also helps him be more on top of his work at the palace, so it's not the worst. His third eye is for sight, to be seeing clearly and all knowing, so that he can help those around him. And his 6 limbs, which are for strength, with so many arms, surely he could help out all of Roya at once? {he can but it's utterly exhausting}. His hair turning from the beautiful chestnut to the interesting orange was a reminder from the magician to Jayda, a piece of him, so that he will never forget the gifts he was given. Zahra | She/Her - Lesbian | Zahra, originally coming from a rich background, was arranged to marry at the age of 15 by her mother. Her mother had sold her into a marriage with a much older man after learning Zahra was a trans woman, and she told her if she wanted to be one, that she could face the same struggles a woman would. After about a year of this, she runs away and meets Jayda. It's important to note that Zahra wasn't as open with Jayda as she is now, but her mother had attempted to force her to de-transition, when she could not make her, she was sold off like cattle, and when the man no longer wanted her, her cold dead stare every night haunting him, her mother DID force her to de-transition, and they gaslit her back into the closet, so ergo why she left, and why Jayda met her pre-transition. Now she rules as Juno's head advisor with his council and remains by Jayda's side. Currently, most of the info, including Zahra's intro post, is incorrect, so I will not link it. Atlas | Any/All Pronouns - Pansexual | A young mercenary working under Ruthie Sloane (oh I promise, we'll get to her) Atlas, the nephew/niece of Zahra, grew up with their mother in a small village. His father had banned any sort of magic when Atlas was young, causing quite the struggle when her mother had to use it to heal Atlas from a cold that had almost killed them. The people of the town decided to hunt her down, and unlike his mother, Atlas had lifted herself up into the air with their own magic when jumping from a cliff. That day, the day he lost his mother to the rocks below that cliff, was his birthday. Atlas ended up running to falling less of a feet into the ocean, trying to find her mother in the depths of the ocean, eventually washing back up onto the beach where they were found by Ruth. Now, they remain her side no matter what. Same as with Zahra, Atlas' intro post and most of the posts ive made surrounding them is not correct, so I will not be linking it here. Ruthie, The Midnight Mercenary | She/Her - Pansexual | Born Oxana Valentina Sloane, Ruth took the name of one of her oldest friends when they were slaughtered by the man she once used to work for. While not much is known about her, she is known for being one of the biggest threats to most pirates, and with Atlas along with her, she appears a lot more scary than she actually is. Despite being 6'4 mercenary, Ruth is actually quite kind, she's taken quite a few people in over the years, and she's never one to hesitate when it comes to feeding, or housing those in need. She is the eldest of the Sloane Siblings, and she actually left her family at quite a young age. Now, she just rides around with Atlas, always cleaning up their dirty work. Pier | He/Him - Omnisexual | The younger brother of Oxana, who was abandoned by her from a young age---right when he was learning his abilities--- resulting in him losing control and running away when he was 10. For the most part, he can't see, or, well, its not that he can’t see, he refuses to open his eyes, because when he does, he can't see people, he just sees their aura, and their thoughts, and its like a surround sound to his head. This developed at the age of 9 and he runs away at 10 to get away from his mothers, not to scare them, but because he was afraid of hurting them by letting them know what he was going through. Where he’s constantly on the move, one of his favorite friends is Asta, they met on a pirate ship back in Prakra and they're very nice to one another. On the note of Pirates, he does get kidnapped by a certain crew due to his relation to rue. But that I'll leave off there. Mathéo | He/They - Bisexual | As the youngest of the Sloane siblings, not much is known about Mathéo. While he remains to live with his mothers, he still lives a rather independent life. They take charge in doing all the task their siblings left behind, and they try to make life happier for their mothers. But, he longs so be selfish, and adventurous, and he feels lonely without his siblings, creating an odd family dynamic when he meets up with them in the future. Y'know I do wonder what it says about me how I went from venting frustrations by having X being X to putting L.L. on a blender. I mean undeniably part of it is tied to my ever growing anxiety, hell, you'd argue there's parallels to be drawn between current L.L. treatment and Juan's when I was in highschool (there's so much that I daydreamed about yet never became canon but that guy christ my poor guy 😭) and y'all know how I was in highschool aka miserable and also very scared of real things (had to walk on eggshells always) but also non real things (I was tripping balls and a man with corpse paint is hiding behind my bathroom curtain ready to kill me‼️ among other things) but that still doesn't quite explain what prompted X to be made. What was I going thru that was so exclusive to that moment it didn't happen before or after? Bc X while eventually getting the blender treatment too (that's just my ocd tbf that I understand easily I'm a guilty guilty man and I need to fuel my own guiltiness by doing more bad tm things) he's usually the one pushing others in it. Hell the sheer fact he exists and the reason why he's called X is bc I didn't want to use L.L. for the story I originally wrote of him - just had to save this as a draft could you imagine I forget I hit post limit and lose this entire thing? - and named him X as a sort of place holder. He also is EXCLUSIVE referred as X there too to give him pronouns was too personal (I still use x/xs for him occasionally but way less). And it's not like L.L. doesn't have a few crimes under their belt they've pushed people in blenders too they've had mayor arcs about this in fact even all the way back to Japan their very first place this was present and that was a symptom of Thing in fact when L.L. spoke there they were referencing them who was violent and proud but L.L. was Ashamed of this violence and yes this is present with X too but where on earth did this overwhelming urge to enact it came from? Because I Am a violent man that I won't deny lately especially the urges to break bones and throw shit are overwhelming but not as much as when I walked down the streets daydreaming of every possible way I'd have to kill someone with the coldness of someone who is expecting this to happen (while not past the age of 16 and younger). Though I suppose Sheina WAS a vehicle for this too just like X let's not forget she did torture 4 ppl for a long while and that scene was written twice no less.
I guess there was always a side of... A taste for creative violence in me as far as I have memory and Sheina and X are symptoms of this even L.L. too but I guess I just have burnout? LMAO yeah maybe it's as simple as that. I did know a lot of me spiraling is a need to convince myself it's bad enough to allow myself to feel this. Maybe this whole thing is as simple as . Got distracted thinking of other things remember there was a Point to X character development that I was supposed to change? Which is a thing in universe too bc i never changed and neither did him he just turned it down? And it's now nothing but just another thing that happens that people don't question because X learnt to behave? Worth saying too X was a bit of a show off like when he had to stop originally was his own fault for literally telling L.L. and Can about it which directly affected them both. It really is all about doing bad things only to experience consequences except X wasn't guilty ORIGINALLY. Which is funnier than it's interesting. Although in his base story you can see him slowly get softer and softer.
I'm losing track but I feel they're both a form of downward spiral. But with X there was a whole Climax. There's never that with L.L. . X was an attempt to take control in a time where I had none while L.L. is just a cry for help and portrait of the absurdity of it all. It's also an escape from control itself too, you'd say. Perhaps represents my reality in that sense. It's that paralyzing uncertainty of isolation in dependency. It also it's a legit reflection of me Forgetting I can take control of situations after all until now only Once in modern time has L.L. done so. (They killed a guy. They mangled the shit out of him. They came to work shaking covered in blood. But irl realizing yes that is an option there is a way out was such a great relief.) But there's also the Consequences and the rammys which tie back to what I said before about the paralyzing nature.
And thing which is funnier than everything else is: fuckin what will happen to L.L., huh? Like not only bc I'm writing the story but even in universe. They've killed like 4 people (2 relatives 2 strangers, maybe even more I forgot about too) they don't even exist legally they love going to prison. Nothing is more dangerous to them than their own lack of self confidence.
I seriously don't know where this overwhelming upsetness and... Lack of confidence yeah animal fear and all came from. They were always here but when did they overpower else? Where did this weakness and I mean that in the most literal sense of it too weak like an overworked muscle.
Got distracted again but I guess it's similar to X too like this seeking of a climax of this big turning point except not at all there was that L.L. literally tried to kill themselves and it was a remarkable deal but then it became standard bc Yeah.
Maybe it's like AJJ said and I deserve displeasure and I really want to cry and I think you should spit on my face because I am a werewolf.
I think that's the best I can do for a conclusion idk what I'm saying anymore spent a whole hour or so typing this.
Though it's worth saying I did start thinking of this bc the X gene if you will the Xeske nature never left me it's just buried deeper.
I feel the issue is I keep trying to reach for a happy ending I keep walking down nails waiting for something good to be on the other side but I have no idea what it looks like.
Siiigh alright I'm done typing now it's 1 am ok. Sad conclusion. Though it's not like X had any sort of happy ending already stablished my man is still doing the same. But he did meet other things. He did manage to find some peace after trying and trying again. I guess L.L. is just experiencing the hopelessness I am. I mean the face ripping off thing that was just a real mental breakdown. Arc words too nothing ever changes when they peaked from under their arms and showed what was a single eye and goopy messy blood.
So I guess it's as simple as L.L. gets blended because I don't have the strength for malice I just want thing to get better but can't find a way out. X was for digging a tunnel L.L. is for failing the climbing class.
