Honestly I'm amazed it's taken 4 episodes for Wu Xie to figure out this is a trap. And he didn't even figure it out, Pangzi did and he's not even there.

You can definitely tell this is towards the end of Sha Hai era Wu Xie from the way he's meticulously setting traps and cataloguing the fingerprints of suspects. This is a man who has worked hard to wipe out an entire clan to keep Xiaoge safe

Man who frequently has hot women trying to kill him is surprised to learn that a hot woman is trying to kill him

Danganronpa Despair Time Foils

TL;DR - The foils of the main cast of the killing game in Danganronpa Despair Time are foreshadowed in the chapter 1 recap video. - Hey hey! As said above, premise is pretty simple. While based on the initial impressions alone not all of these seem to make sense, connections and shared themes can be found between all of the pairings presented in the chapter 1 recap video which is what makes me think they are foils. This is not concrete evidence and you are free to disagree! I'd love to hear others opinions and discourse regarding the topic in the comments. ^^ I will be making more in depth analysis posts on each of these pairings in the future. Shared Themes & Topics: Resenting their talents, resenting academia, importance to Teruko Tawaki, red/warm color pallets, pro & anti authority perspectives

Clarifications & Other Notes: They share a relationship of culprit & victim, giving them a unique dynamic in the story. A clear precedent for tension & conflict was set in their dynamic from their first interaction, though until the murder this was minimal.

Foil #2 - Teruko the Lucky Student & Charles the Chemist

While Arturo's past is not explicitly or literally sinful, it is heavily implied that he subconsciously feels guilty for the death of his younger sister. Levi is heavily implied to have the heartless murderer secret based on the small number of secrets left & his secret quote where he laments over his 'heartlessness'. Both seem to have a tense relationship with their family with Levi having been literally disowned & Arturo seeming to be no contact with his family for one reason or another. Levi's talent focuses on making someone the best version of what they already are while Arturo's focuses on making you into someone else entirely. Foil #8 - Whit the Matchmaker & David the Inspirational Speaker

Shared Themes & Topics: Optimism, Nihilism, Apathy, Depression, Kindness/Cruelty, Trauma Clarifications & Other Notes: Whit's primary visual motif is hearts while David's is stars. Hearts are essential, intimate & personal while stars are pretty but distant & uninhabitable. David's true nature is cold and uncaring while Whit is portrayed as very empathetic & mindful of others. Both characters seem to struggle in some way with feelings of apathy and nihilism, though they seem to deal with this in very different ways. Whit had David's secret & tried to keep it until he learned his true nature, at which point he remarked that 'his career was in trouble for reasons out of his (whit's) control'. David is intially inviting & kind while Whit is initially somewhat abrasive & insensitive. -

Eyyy self promotion time. Puppet Girl is an ongoing fic/AU of mine and is currently my longest fic despite not being finished! The plan is to have maybe 10 or so more chapters (there are currently 18) and then maybe some one-shots with side adventures, although that’s probably a while off.

Also some extra bits of info! Michael is transmasc in this one. He’s also aroace and Charlie’s a lesbian but neither of those are mentioned and who even knows if they know. Not entirely sure about Jeremy but it’s a genfic anyway.

But yeah, Charlie doesn’t die, Mangle’s teeth aren’t as sharp so Jeremy entirely recovers from the Bite of 87. Timeline is condensed with FNaF 6 taking place in the 90s and Michael is also alive (duh)

Minho came over in the morning and he sighed when you opened the door.

‘If I could freeze time and spend 50 years worth of time with you, I would.’

You laughed, ‘life got you down, huh?’

‘Understatement of the entire century,’ he said while walking in.

When he put his stuff down, he yawned dramatically then walked over and gave you a hug.

‘Damn, someone needs to sleep,’ you tried to mask your worry with humour. It really was worrying how it became a normal thing for him to come over and go straight to sleep. ‘In need of a nap?’

He nodded into your shoulder, ‘I sleep best when I’m here… I don’t get why I can’t sleep as restfully at home. I’m also sorry I spend whatever time we have sleeping so much.’

‘Min, I’m here to care for you. If you need to sleep and this is where you sleep best, I’m nothing but happy to see you rest.’

He groaned, ‘don’t sayyy thattt!!! I’ll never want to leave. I’ll retire and hide here for the rest of my life like a hobo.’

You laughed, ‘I mean, atleast then no one cuts your hair. I would have to agree with stay, it looks too good long. Oh, stay would kill me too for harbouring you.’

‘I’ll protect you. So will my stans,’ he pulled away and winked.

‘Ok, now you need to stop because I might actually end up keeping you here,’ you gave him a kiss then lead him to your room. ‘Nap time!’

He laughed as he followed behind you. You guys got into comfortable clothes and bundled up in blankets. He was laying with his face in your neck and you had one of your hands in his hair, massaging his scalp. It was the epitome of comfort.

‘Min, you feeling any better?’

He sleepily replied, ‘shh, I’ll kill you if you wake me’

You gasped dramatically as you pulled your hand away from his hair, ‘you said you loved me!’

‘I can love you and want to kill you,’ he pulled your arm back to his hair.

‘Ever the romantic, aren’t you?’

He shushed you even louder and covered your mouth. You laughed but the quietened down to let him sleep. You kept running your fingers through his hair soothingly and slowly, you drifted off to sleep too.

You laughed half asleep when you heard him snore. You really wished you could be here with him forever, it would be so nice never having to worry about him leaving.

When you woke up, it was dark now, he was still asleep so you carefully got up. You left to go get some food from a shop a few minutes from your house. While you were waiting for the food, you got some texts.

‘My crazy cat lady ♥️,’ the name made you laugh everytime you saw it.

My crazy cat lady: why have you abandoned me? I feel so cold…so alone…so isolated…and you have no chocolate anywhere…

Y/N: I’m getting food, you drama queen. I already binged all the chocolate two days ago so its on you for thinking I’d have any 😘

1. On a scale of “is occasionally forced to bathe” to “Instagram model with sponsors to hoe for” how involved is your OC’s Skincare routine?

involved as in she takes a great deal in looking after her appearance but not finicky to the point that she's extra strict with the ingredients going on her face or the kind of diet she has so she can look better. her appearance is definitely one of the things she takes great pride on, so maintenance is def something she does as part of her nightly routine -and shri'iia is def a creature of habit so she has her own skincare routine that she does, then as the creams are settling in her face she's gonna polish her armour, her weapon, prepare her poisons, etc. she likes to keep herself busy!

4. What’s your OC’s response to being asked for money by a homeless person?

probably laugh 😭 listen. shri'iia is NOT the kindest nor the most generous, and she really does not believe in charity. she def still has that drow victim blaming mindset and she believes more if someone gets up and helps themselves rather than beg for it, so in a chance that someone asks for her coins, she would just laugh at them and say no. the only time she'll be charitable is when it comes to something regarding her oath - so if someone is in need to break away from their master - THAT'S when she will come running, free of charge, but in general, she really won't help.

5. Does your OC get lost easily? What do they do when they do get lost?

frequently, especially in the surface world where she is still so very unfamiliar with the terrains and landscape both in cities and in the wild. i imagine she navigates through the underdark much more comfortably since the dark is her home and she is more comfortable with seeing things with her darkvision rather than seeing them in the light. if she is lost, she will try to act like she isn't while trying to figure out how to navigate herself. shri'iia will try to avoid asking for directions especially if she's in some small town since she's not sure how they'll react to seeing a drow in the surface, and imagine her paranoia is flaring and she's trying her best to calm her nerves. like in the first 30 mins she'll probably be fine but as the longer it goes, that's when she'll start getting bewildered and anxious and she feels like she's gonna get hunted for sport and everyone will be out to kill her but she's FINE btw she's not gonna ask for your help...!! she can work this out.......!!

Hey, wanna read me defending myself in my plans to multiclass Desmond into a Rogue-Thief/Ranger-Gloom Stalker?

The thing about trying to play as Desmond in Baldur's Gate is that I'm forcing the narrative to work around my need to min-max in terms of classes allocation.

Narrative choices are easy because Desmond's more on the side of neutral good, sliding into true neutral with the whole 'stab them when it's clear they killed an innocent' guideline.

But the classes though... the thing about Assassins in Assassin's Creed is that they're not exactly a 1:1 of the Assassin subclass.

So my reasoning for the plan to multiclass Desmond into Rogue-Thief (4)/Ranger-Gloom Stalker(5) is...

Thief subclass is chosen because [Fast Hands] means +1 bonus action which would make it easier for Desmond to hide and/or dash/disengage. Hiding is the best way to get the Sneak Attack actions. [Second-Story Work] means less falling damage which could made into our narrative workaround for Leaps of Faith. Assassin subclass was passed over because Thief has more utility and Assassin is more combat oriented with focus on attacking targets that have not taken a turn yet. This could, narratively, be more or less the equivalent to the Hidden Blade's oneshot kills but it doesn't work because early level Rogue has a hard time oneshoting enemies at low level. Rogue will be leveled up to Lv4 so Desmond can get another Feat (Ability Improvement: Dex +2 to up it to 20)

Gloom Stalker Ranger is chosen because Favoured Enemy [Bounty Hunter] gives Investigation Proficiency and Natural Explorer [Urban Tracker] gives Sleight of Hand Proficiency. Narratively, Urban Tracker goes well with Desmond's background and his Bleeds are experts in the urban areas of their time. Anything that gives more Investigation Proficiency is good as part of Eagle Vision. Lv 2 will let us get Speak with Animals and Enhance Leap (Enhance Leap is pretty much necessary since Str is needed for jumping but Str is a dump stat for Rogues so yeah, we'll have Desmond cheat for this one). Lv 4 will let Desmond get Gloom Stalker subclass and automatically get Disguise Self which means we can put the Disguise Self helmet (I forgot the name) back to camp ([Dread Ambusher] is also more consistent than the Assassin subclass unique skills)

The reason why we're going for up to Lv 5 Gloom Stalker is that Desmond can get an Extra Attack + Misty Step at Lv 5 (and he can get Past without Trace as well for extra stealth)

This does leave 3 more levels to allocate and we have some options:

Rogue up to Lv 7 so Desmond can get Uncanny Dodge + Evasion and an additional 1d6 for Sneak Attack damage.

Ranger up to Lv8 so Desmond can get another feat (probably Dungeon Delver for Advantage on Perception and Saving Throws to avoid/resist traps or Savage Attacker if Desmond can now safely melee) and can get Land's Stride so he won't be slowed down by difficult terrain.

Rogue up to Lv 5 for Uncanny Dodge and an additional 1d6 for Sneak Attack damage + Ranger up to Lv 7 for an additional Lv2 Spell Slot.

Or... we go and lean into Desmond being a bartender and have him multiclass up to Lv3 Bard (or Lv2 Bard with Lv5 Rogue + Lv5 Ranger) so he can have more spells (probably Detect Thoughts and maybe something like Feather Fall? idk) or we go for Lv3 Druid (Wild Shape) as a reference to Tyranny of Washington DLC (which does have wolf and bear in the Circle of the Moon)

I think it's so interesting how they frame it when team black victimizes someone versus when team green does it. Daemyra have a servant killed but we barely even see them on screen for more than a second, we're supposed to see them as good because they spared Laenor who can now live a free life, allies!! Daemon kills his wife but she antagonizes him and its almost framed as an accident. Vaemond calls Rhaenyra a whore so it's justified his head gets cut off. Then there's the greens...

The first time we “meet” adult aegon we don’t even meet the actor we first meet him through his rape victim who we see crying on screen for 5 mins and we see Alicent be sympathetic but also manipulate her, some people even thought she was poisoning the girl. Then there’s Larys who kills his father and brother without hesitance, two people who are sympathetic to the audience, Alicent is shocked but also doesn’t do anything about it. And then that same guy has Alicent take out her feet for him to

to jack off to for info? They even filmed a scene with children fighting which is notoriously hard to do to show us how awful Aegon is and then have a close up of Aegon’s own child and we learn that the children’s teeth and nails are filed in a pointy way to make them extra dangerous. Somehow none of this was happening during Viserys’ rule, when Harwin was captain of the gold cloaks? Adding things up its so transparent.

Yeah that's a very valid criticism, I mean I get that the Blacks are largely meant to be the protagonists and Greens are meant to be the antagonists, but the distinction that they try to make is kinda unnecessary and the framing is unfair. What makes the Dance interesting to me is that there aren't any heroes or good guys, and while I understand that they want the audience to have someone to root for, it's just kind of a weak way of making that happen.

Rating Griddlehark Soulmate AUs

bc the TLT brainrot is stubborn and i love them

Names - this AU usually works best for pairings that don't meet until later in life, and that have a slightly better relationship. However, i can totally see a delayed-onset words AU that would be awesome. Imagine being thirteen (or whatever, in my imagination this is onset at puberty) and finding out that the person who hates you more than anyone else on the planet is your soulmate. They would both go into deep denial and pretend it wasn't happening and it would be AMAZING. 8/10 i want it

First words - this is a very cute AU for griddlehark, since they've known each other Harrow's whole life. I like to think that Gideon's words would be 'Griddle' (i hc that this was Harrow's first word) and Harrow's would be something like 'what are you?', since Gideon wouldn't be familiar with babies. There are a couple of ways this could play out:

The words change colour when spoken and when your soulmate dies, so they know. This would be a very weird environment to grow up in, and they could totally act similar to canon - maybe they both think it's unreciprocated, or some sort of soul-enemies thing, or something like that. However, I would deeply enjoy a world where, every time the people of the Ninth get mad at her, Gideon rolls up her sleeve, gestures to her words, and coughs pointedly. Harrow hates it but also she kind of loves it. 9/10 delicious

The words don't change colour when your soulmate dies - Gideon imagines that her words were said by one of the children killed by 'creche flu' and is open about this. Harrow (whose soulmate can only be Gideon) is absolutely horrified once she learns that her parents apparently killed her soulmate's soulmate. She immediately ceases contact with Gideon and basically becomes a shut-in until the Lyctor trials. 5/10 angsty

The words don't change colour at all. They are both holding onto the feeble hope that it's someone else (which is obviously dumb, especially in Gideon's case) but by the time of the pool they realise that it could only ever be each other. (Optional extra where there's some reaction for the first kiss and Harrow is immediately furious that they wasted years of their lives while Gideon is just pretty happy to be kissing) 7/10 i like the chosen soulmate angle

3. Black-and-white to colours - again, i feel this works best for pairings that meet later in life, but has some fun concepts such as Gideon painting messages to Harrow in colour that the rest of the Ninth's black-and-white vision can't detect. 6/10 good for humour

4. One eye the colour of your soulmate's - this would interact with the Lyctor stuff, which is also heavily eyes-based, and might have done some weird things for HtN specifically, depending on which version we use. It's another one where Gideon and Harrow meeting so early would interfere with the tension - either they already know, or there's no way for them to figure it out. 3/10 would still read

5. The first words your soulmate says when they realise they're in love with you - now this has some juicy potential. It depends heavily on when you perceive Gideon and Harrow as falling in love, and more importantly, when they figure it out. I'm inclined towards 'one flesh, one end' for at least one half of the pairing, but there are many potential heartbreaking moments - 'first flower of my house' comes to mind. 9/10 could be a longfic

6. Bodyswap - aw HELL YES. the ideal version of this for me is that on your 16th birthday (ik it's usually 18 but that doesn't work as well with GtN timelines) you wake up in your soulmate's body for like ten mins (time limit is important). Gideon hates it so much she is so mad she tries to use necromancy and starts bleeding from the mouth and then she wakes up in her own body AND HAS TO LOOK HARROW IN THE EYE KNOWING SHE'S HARROW'S SOULMATE AND HARROW DOESN'T KNOW. fic would be from Harrow's perspective as she watches Gideon act weirder than she ever has before (high bar) and is so confused for the months between Gideon's birthday and hers. final scene is Harrow waking up in Gideon's body and screaming for a full ten minutes 10/10 i want to read this so bad
