I’ve never felt so conflicted about a franchise in my life but at least this dude was hot

#At The Feet Of The Sun#lays of the heart-fire#aroaessidhe 2024 reads#giggling and kicking my feet. and also crying#bro the yearning….the yearning#I can definitely see why this loses people - it’s so long and very self indulgent#(listen. i enjoy it a lot . but does it need to be THAT long (i just checked. 375k? lord))#but it is easy to read and also very funny. it felt less repetitive than the first book to me#I did find it hard to keep track of some of the side characters though#The first world-travelling stuff caught me off guard initially - I feel like all the weird magic was more background in book 1?#or maybe I just didn't pay attention.#taking a step back it is a bit like - kip sure does achieve everything and then some and just continues to achieve everything huh#and it gets to a point where it's like.....okay yes I get he's so talented at this etc etc.#but I guess it’s a nice change of pace from the kingly swordfighting fantasy protagonist who’s perfect and wins everything -#someone whose skill is people and negotiation in a humble way is a bit more interesting. still. it maybe felt less grounded after a while?#the deep exploration of platonic yearning and desire for strong friendship and fear over that person just wanting romance/sex#when that’s Not what you want out of the relationship………#not to mention his complex feelings over meeting two people who were like his platonic soulmate rolemodels#and then finding out they just used that term because gay relationships weren’t accepted and trying to not be disappointed#(because gay is also good!) but also like. so lonely in feeling like nobody understands his desire for a platonic soulmate#to be treated equally as romantic relationships are. oof#I am a little baffled to see people interpret it as a romantic asexual relationship?#I feel like that does such a disservice to the . everything that has been set up in what 600k words of books#like the implication of that is that you think other romantic rships w/o sex are unheard of in this world. I just finished watching Earthspark (for now) and I'm not even kidding when i tell you
I strained my throat so hard. it's just dry, after 2 words it shrivels up
BECAUSE I fucking screamed so hard seeing THE👏🏾HARDEST👏🏾pull up 🗣️🔥I EVER FUCKING SEEN🗣️🔥👏🏾👏🏾. LIKE, this isn't even close. I watch a lot of cartoons.
I LOVE dramatic character entrances, I've seen a ton and when I see one it makes me giddy and ACTUALLY jump around, stand up, and yell in my room (like Football dads.) It's peak. YOU KNOW IT'S PEAK WHEN I SAY IT'S PEAK I thought TFA had top-tier entrances (I'm a sucker for 2d animation). THIS TAKES THE CAKE. The whole fucking bakery
It's cinematic, it's fucking awesome, it's during a time of semi-crisis, it's the bad guys coming to save the day and stealing the show cause lets be honest the Decepticons are better in every way (except for Wheeljack and Grimlock they are THE main characters), IT'S FUCKING DECEPTICONS RIDING A DECEPTICON.
THEY ARE THE GUYS. It's the THREE DEFINITIONS of HIM. They know they're the fucking best and they're rocking that.
Also Hardtop is the fucking goat. He LITERALLY CARRIED. Literally 🗣️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Jasmine had an ice core.
That fact took Vlad by surprise, by way of an ice encased foot trying very very hard to to connect with and break his ribs. He barely managed to twist away in time, firing a blast of ectoplasmic energy at Jasmine as he turned.
An ice core? Really? It didn’t suit her. They were for the serene and the graceful, people with personalities comparable to freshly fallen snow or frozen lake vistas. The quiet, the cold, the easily crushed.
Jasmine was many things, but serene was not one of them. Not by a long shot. She was clever, determined, ambitious. She could be described as controlled, but only when she was human. As Phantom that control slipped to reveal a… truly spirited young woman. Her personality was far more suited to an electric core, or perhaps, fire. Like his own.
That would be the single disadvantage to said lovely fire core, Vlad mused distantly as he teleported away from Jasmine, reappearing just in time to hear the tail end of her frustrated scream. He matched up much too well against ice. He wished Jasmine could have been on more equal footing against him.

As Vlad stared down at Jasmine during their next scuffle a few days later, he was keenly aware of the fact that his… concerns about Jasmine’s core had perhaps been a bit presumptuous.
She was picking herself up out of the small crater Vlad’s fiery blast had left her in, frost collecting under her palms and feet as she hauled herself upright. Vlad opened his mouth to say something snappy, only to pause as the air grew cold. The frost had spread from Jasmine’s feet, coating the entire crater in a softly glowing blanket and creeping across the ground outside of it. The wind picked up, ice and snow solidifying in a swirl, with Jasmine at its center.
A blizzard.
It was in that moment Vlad realized an ice code suited Jasmine perfectly. It was no calm and gentle thing, Jasmine had an ice core like an avalanche. A tumbling, churning wall of ice on a warpath, a raging force of nature that would not, and could not, be stopped, especially not by something as insignificant as fire.
Vlad smiled as Jasmine shot towards him. This would work out well, actually.

Before I went to bed I saw the Youtube notif that TADC was going to Netflix and it INVADED my dreams so vividly I have not had such an episodic sequential serialized cohesive dream in months it was literally its own chapter its own short story
