Title: A Dream of Winter by Delphi ( A Dream of Winter - Delphi - Harry Potter - Rowling [Archive of Our Own] ) Why you like it: A fantastic oneshot with Kendra Dumbledore at its center. What I loved about this is that it takes the dubious canon description of "Her face had a carved quality about it. Harry thought of photos of Native Americans he’d seen" and plays it straight to give her a compelling backstory. HP Leading Lady: Kendra Dumbledore Theme: Mothers.

Leading ladies: Kendra Dumbledore

What's to love: Oh goodness, what can't you love about this fic? The backstory of Canadian, indigenous Kendra shines through. There's so many references to the lore of the Dumbledore family (a bumblebee!). It's a lovely look into a mother's life, which would fit into week 2, Mothers, but a fic like this would also be perfect for week 4, Background Beauties.

Ok, but listen. Harry goes back in time and decides to get rid of Tom Riddle AU, but the sorting hat goes like ??? when it reads Harry's mind. Idk it just irks me how the sorting hat is so understanding in most time travel fics, at best it puts Harry in a house he didn't want to be. But just imagine if it actually tells on Harry, full great hall drama with the hat going like "HE'S HERE TO MURDER SOMEONE"

And ofc Tom is instantly obsessed with the murder boy.
