so, statistically speaking and based on worldwide demographic data from 2022, the most “average” person would be a middle-aged Chinese/East Asian male
in all systems red, murderbot describes its features as “averagely human”
unrelated to this, i giggle a little whenever i see someone draw murderbot with east asian features in fanart

Me sitting and watching any oni discussion waiting for an excuse to bring up a seed is planted all like 🤓👉👈
#rat rambles#oni posting#Ive been lurking in a discord sever if you couldn't tell#well I have been for a while but I rarely touch it since my poor heart cant take it#I try to only add my two cents when smth that actually relates to the lore comes up which as it turns out is almost never lol#there is a lore discussion channel to be clear its just never used to discuss the actual lore so thats where my agonies come from#alas. no one cares.#also holy moly the misconceptions are rampant. you can feel how little most ppl have read if any at all. sigh.#its fine but it is still sad to me. screams and cries. Ill never be able to talk abt the actual characters at this rate#Im going to need to make like a three hour common misconceptions debunking video at this rate#(lying but if I Do make a lore video eventually I will be putting a common misconceptions section at the end for my sanity)#again Im just hesitant to try making a lore video rn since there's kind of a plot going on thats not done yet in the recent dlcs#while technically the general timeline of gravitas itself is complete enough for a summary video especially in relation to in game stuff#this stuff relates more heavily to the rest of pre earth exploding societal stuff that I feel like is important to cover in a lore summary#if I was just talking the main story of oni I could summarize that pretty easy but if its going to be a comprehensive lore video I want it#to cover the actual lore and not just the general key notes of what matters to in game things#the real question is if I actually try to include every bit of mildly noteworthy information or not lol#Id love to ramble abt every named character and point out which dupes we have known donors for but most of them are quite disconnect from#everything else going on and even those who arent are kind of hard to bring up in relation to those events#aka the guys with their lil diaries and any artifact exclusive mentions#well ok this also includes like pei and mae and probably several other ppl Im forgetting#maybe I can give them a lightning round section where I go over duplicant donors that didnt get mentioned in story summary#but again I wanna wait until at least the next dlc before starting to draft this since again there's a plot going on rn#cause like if I just go for it now Ill be binding myself to a clunky update video where I go over the new stuff#and that will be fine by me once this current jackie family drama arc is over but for now I will twiddle my thumbs and wait

how did i calculate the intake goals ? see first food diary post, go to the very end!
====
i think i will still be journaling about my food intake on the "off" days [fri & sat] to help me be mindful and intentional about the quality and portion size of what i eat. however on those days i will not be restrictive about milk or cheese intake, nor carefully calculating anything but iron intake, as that is the category i am most like to fall low out of band. then i intend to treat sun as a prep-lite sort of day. ie. tracking protein, water, iron intake; restrictive but allowing milk & cheese intake and listing exact portions. i think this will help me be more successful on mondays. with the overall goal of staying a strong candidate for successful plasma donations. and maybe accidentally eating in a way that is helpful for my mental and physical health hahahahahaha i did not do this. but it was okay!

Honey, Honey
pairing: charles x reader
summary: it was just you and your daughter against the world, until she found your old diary
series masterlist masterlist soundtrack
requests open
——————————
“I never want to see you again. Get out of my home,” the last words you said to him, tears streaming down your face in the summer sun. Another lie from another man who swore he was different. You fall for it every time.
A year later you found yourself once again abandoned by a man who tricked you into believing that he cared even a little bit. That was the last time you trusted one, even if he gave you the greatest gift in the world. Ten little fingers and ten little toes who thankfully didn’t take anything from her asshole father.
“Honey, are you sure you will be okay?” Raising your daughter as a single mom was incredibly hard, but you had the support of your parents to help.
“Mom, you’ve raised me for sixteen years, a weekend work conference is not the end of the world. Plus, I like nonno and nonna,” your daughter tries to soothe your nerves, but what parent doesn’t have insecurities about leaving their child.
“I just hate leaving you, bug,” you pull her into a hug.
“Alright, you better leave before you miss your train. We raised you and you turned out alright, one weekend won’t kill her,” your mom stands in the doorway, a knowing smile on her face.
“Thanks Mom, love you,” you give her a quick hug before heading to your car. As you go down the road, leaving your childhood home in the rearview mirror, you want to cry. You’ve never taken a trip by yourself without your daughter. You’ve tried to bring her along, but she insisted that you take the weekend for yourself. The audacity of that girl. She got it from you, naturally.
“So, do you have anything embarrassing of Mom’s that you can show me?” your daughter asks almost immediately when she steps into the house.
“I have a lot, why don’t you go check her closet,” your mother’s eye twinkles with mischief, proud that you raised your daughter so well.
She immediately searches the back of the closet, everyone knows that’s where you hide your secrets. And… voila, a stack of diaries. 20 years ago, 19, 18, and 17. You don’t really speak about those last two years, all you’ve really said is that you worked a summer job at some fancy restaurant while taking a couple summer classes to get ahead in your degree. You never even told her who her father is. You always said that he never showed up besides being a sperm donor.
“What the fuck,” she says, reading over the page once again. The start of the diary from 18 years ago was totally normal, until you started seeing someone. Footsteps race down the stairs as she finishes reading about your summer. “Nonna?”
“I thought you’d never ask,” your mom doesn’t even need to hear your daughter’s question, she’s ready for whatever plan she has.
“I’m back, I hate conferences,” you collapse on the couch three days later.
“Well then, I guess we don’t need to ask how that went down we?” your mom offers a glass of wine which you gratefully take.
“I love my job, I really do, but it would be so much better if I didn’t have to pretend to care what others in the field are doing. Let me do my own thing,”
“You always have, that’s what we love about you,” your mom’s gentle tone reminds you why you leaned on her so much as your daughter was growing up.
“Alessandra, no running in the house,” your father scolds from the kitchen. Kind, yet firm, the parenting style you adopted from him.
“Sorry,” she quickly apologizes, helping him with dinner.
“I think you need a break. Both of you do, classes just ended, why don’t you go on a little vacation. Don’t say no, I already booked it,” you mother insists.
“You are the best. Will you be joining?” you relax a little, thinking about not working.
“No, it’s mother daughter time. I’m sending you the information now,” your mother is surprisingly good with technology. “You know, Alessandra planned a lot of it, she was very excited at the idea,” your phone buzzes as you get the information.
“Lake Como, good choice. And what is that, Monza?”
“That weekend happened to host a race, Alessandra thought it would be fun,” right. Growing up in Italy there was one thing you didn’t have to teach her, how to be a tifosi, even if you weren’t.
“Right. Thank you, I do wish you were joining us though,” your sad smile changes to a happy one when called for dinner.
“Next time,” she promises.
The months fly by and you find yourself on the train into Monza. Alessandra is buzzing with energy, excited for the race.
“I’m surprised you had that. I thought you hated racing,” she said earlier when you emerged wearing vintage Ferrari gear from your teenage years.
“You cannot grow up in Italy without Ferrari gear, especially when there were those great years,” you trail off, clearing your throat before continuing. “I don’t hate it, I’m just not fond of it.”
“I’m jealous you got to see Charles and Carlos race, I would love to see it in something other than a rerun,” you school your face, unaware she read your diaries.
“I can’t say I paid much attention back then,” you smoothly lie.
“Anyway, I have another surprise. I won this contest and got us these,” she leans in to quietly show you, knowing everyone around you would kill for what is in her hands.
“Wow, I’m so happy for you, you’ve wanted that for years,” you beam. Normally you would request to sit this weekend out, but you vowed to give your daughter everything and to never miss an experience with her. Sometimes that means doing something you’d rather not do.
Thankfully for you, your daughter did plenty of research and you got in early which meant more time to explore and enjoy your exclusive paddock passes.
“Let’s do the tour first,” she suggests, typing away at her phone before shoving it into her pocket. You are dragged in a direction before you can say anything. It’s her day anyway, you can’t say anything.
“And this is the Ferrari team hospitality, we will pause here for pictures,” the tour guy says and you try to quell your anxieties as you take photos of your daughter.
“Excuse me, are you Alessandra Rossi. I wanted to meet the winner of our competition,” a smooth voice says from beside you. Your heart drops to your stomach, you might puke right here. The group fills with excited whispers as your daughter’s eyes light up.
“I am, could I get a picture?” she is practically shaking with excitement.
“Of course,” she quickly moves towards him and you turn to take the picture, eyes trained on the phone.
“Is this your sister?” he asks, a smile on his face as you take the pictures.
“My beautiful mother,” Alessandra beams with pride as your heart swells with love.
“Well, seeing as you are guests of Ferrari this weekend, why don’t I give you two a tour of our hospitality,” he peels the two of you off from the tour group, bringing you inside.
“Will all due respect, don’t you have anything better to do than show us around? You are team principal,” she asks as you step inside. You want to shrivel up and die.
“I will always make time for two beautiful ladies,” his sunglasses now dangle from the unbuttoned collar, leaving his blue eyes to look into yours. That smile that once left you swooning now makes you want to punch him.
Alessandra looks between you two. She looked up photos of you two online and you looked so happy together, and everything you wrote in your diary only proved that. You never explained what ended it, so she assumed that it was amicable. The tension between you is anything but.
You look like you are about to leave, so Alessandra quickly replies.
“Well, you are busy so let’s get started,” she diffuses the situation.
“How old are you?” he asks, turning his focus to your daughter as you glare at the back of his head. Stupidly perfect hair looking better than it did at 22.
“I’m 16,” so she isn’t his daughter. Your relationship ended before that point.
“This is my office, that I don’t spend as much time in as I would like,” he chuckles, door clicking shut behind him.
“Was this planned?” you speak for the first time, feeling a little attacked as your daughters eyes widen slightly.
“Y/n,” he starts to speak and Alessandra jumps in.
“I really did win it, but I did bring you to the race under false pretenses. I hoped maybe we would run into him, and you seemed so happy together all those years ago. I don’t know, I thought something would click. You’ve been single since before I was born and he divorced a few years ago,” she trails off as the hurt in your eyes is evident.
“Y/n,” he starts again, reaching for you.
“Stop it, Charles. I don’t want to hear a word you said, not after the last time,” your words are final as your flight instinct kicks in. You turn towards your daughter, fighting the hurt in you. “Enjoy the rest of your tour. I’ll be in our seats when you return, I love you,” you always tell her that even when angry. It’s important that she knows you do even when upset.
“I’m sorry, mamma. I love you too.”
Charles watches as you quickly exit and collapses in his chair, feeling hopeless. His world stopped spinning when he saw you. You hadn’t changed at all, you still look like the 20 year old girl who spent a summer full of love with him. It killed him to hear he wasn’t the father of your daughter, a part of him hoped she was his.
“I’m so sorry, Signore Leclerc,” your daughter is quick to apologize.
“Don’t be, I should apologize to you. I didn’t know I was sore subject between you two,” Charles runs a hand through his hair, inviting her to sit down.
“Truthfully she never mentioned you, even when she said she didn’t like racing,” Alessandra says. Charles’ brows furrow in confusion.
“She doesn’t like racing? She was the biggest tifosi I knew, especially once we- um. You know, that shirt she is wearing is mine,” Charles points out.
“She always said she didn’t like it, that she didn’t pay attention,” Charles feels as if knives are being twisted in his chest. “What did happen between you?”
“I lied to her. I was dating this girl before I met you mother and we were on a break at the time. We had been for a few months and I fell in love even when I didn’t plan on it. Your mom found messages from her saying that she was ready to end the break and get together again. At that point I had basically forgotten about the whole break thing, but your mother isn’t one to forgive and forget. She broke up with me then and there, kicked me out, and I eventually got back together with my ex wife,” Charles explains.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers, unsure what to say.
“It’s okay, everything happens for a reason. I got a beautiful summer and without me messing up you wouldn’t have been born,” Charles points out.
“I think I messed up,” she looks to Charles for advice, as if she was asking her father.
“You did, but it’s okay. We all do, and she already forgave you. I could tell by the way she left,” Charles does his best to comfort Alessandra. He isn’t used to parental actions, he deals with adults.
“But you just said she doesn’t forgive and forget?”
“I’m not her daughter. Everything is different when it comes to your child. She may be a little hurt, but she knows you thought you were helping. It will be okay.” Something about this feels so natural for Charles, like he’s meant to be a father figure.
“How do you know that?”
“I just do. I’m so sorry, I have a meeting with my drivers. Feel free to enjoy what our hospitality has to offer. Stay as long as you’d like. Here’s my business card, let me know if you need anything, this weekend and beyond,” Charles hands the card to Alessandra before leaving her alone in his office.
She sits across his chair for a moment, taking it all in. She knew Charles isn’t her father, so why did that hurt so much? Standing up, she shoves the card deep into her pocket and heads back to the snack area Charles pointed out earlier. That is until she accidentally runs into someone.
“Oh my god, I am so sorry,” her eyes widen as she recognizes who she ran into.
“That’s okay. I haven’t seen you around, are you lost?” Ollie asks, brows furrowed as he takes in the young girl’s appearance.
“Take a left out that door and it leads you back to the paddock,” Kimi adds on. She may not have seen Charles and Carlos race together or Charles and Lewis, but this duo is another level.
“I’ve been looking for you two everywhere. Why must I always hunt you down for our meeting?” Charles sighs from the doorway. “We might as well do it here,” he sits at the table.
“Sorry, we were hungry,” Kimi apologizes as Alessandra is just frozen in her spot.
“You can stay too, Alessandra. Think of it as an apology for earlier,” Charles’s tense smile does nothing to ease her out of place feeling. “She is an old family friend,” Charles quickly explains, it’s a lie but saying she’s my ex’s daughter isn’t a better explanation.
“That’s alright, I should get back to my mom. I don’t want her alone for too long. It was nice meeting you,” Alessandra makes a swift exit, following Kimi’s earlier directions and retracing the steps of the paddock tour.
“How was the rest of your tour?” you ask as she sits beside you.
“It was okay, would’ve been better if you were with me. Sorry for putting you in that situation,”
“You had good intentions, and I shouldn’t have left when I did,” you reply, never mad at your daughter.
“I do have a question for you. Did you love him?” Alessandra knows the answer, but she needs to hear it from you.
“I loved him with every fiber of my being,” the truth hurts more than it should. Admitting it twists the knife in your heart that you never removed.
“Do you still love him?” she presses, asking you to face your feelings from earlier. You can’t come up with an answer, and maybe that’s an answer in itself. It would be so easy to deny it. Your silence tells her what she needs to know.
When you step away to use the restroom, Alessandra pulls out the business card, sending off a text and a prayer.
The race itself is exhilarating, especially watching a Ferrari one-two. You can’t even help yourself from joining the crowds and singing along. To have an Italian on the top step with an Italian team in Italy, it’s the nations greatest dream and you saw it happen.
“Was that everything you wanted and more?” you ask on the train back to the vacation rental, back to somewhere you don’t have to think about Charles.
“It was everything, that you for being here. I know it was hard,” Alessandra hugs you tight.
“I would do anything for you,” you kiss her head, squeezing tight before letting go.
“Oh, Nonna just booked us a dinner tomorrow, I forgot to tell you,” you hum in response, deep in thought.
What would have happened if you never kicked Charles out? Maybe you would be divorced, like he is now. Maybe he was the one and you forced him to leave. Maybe you would have an extremely happy life together. Any way you wouldn’t have Alessandra, and you wouldn’t change that.
The train ride flies by and you are back at the lake house.
“There’s a basket outside the door,” you bend down and pick up the card.
I’m sorry for scaring you off. You are just as beautiful as the day I met you and the day we said goodbye. Maybe one day we will meet again. - C +39 xxx xxx xxx
“What’s it say?” Alessandra asks, peering over your shoulder.
“Doesn’t matter,” you pocket the note and carry the basket inside.
Alessandra knows who it’s from, but she didn’t expect a note. All she did was help set up a dinner and provide the address. Nerves wreck her gut as you disappear to your room, shutting the door behind you. Who knew playing matchmaker for a parent was such a hard task.
You lay on your bed, staring at the note and an open text message on your phone. Charles changed his number and you changed yours in the years that passed between then and now. You both have lived life, no longer the wide eyed kids who thought they could take on the world. You practically raised a kid and Charles did a lot of growing up himself in the last seventeen years.
You type what feels like a hundred different things before deleting it all and setting the note and your phone down.
“What am I doing?” you whisper to yourself. You have a kid who deserves one hundred percent of your attention, you don’t have time to involve yourself with anyone. Plus, it’s Charles. He’s like a god in Italy, and you are you. A single mom who works a boring 9-5 to put food on the table and a roof for over your heads. You made yourself a promise so many years ago to never trust a man with your heart, all they do is break it. Even Charles and his pretty eyes, those dimples, and a smile that makes you melt more than a hot summer day.
You pick up your phone again, typing out one message and hitting send.
What are your intentions? It’s been years, why now?
Is it not enough to have missed you since the moment I left?
I realized I couldn’t let you go again, not without a fight
You want to reply, but you can’t seem to find the words. It’s not that simple, you aren’t 20 anymore. Forgive and forget doesn’t come easily to you, and Charles did his part to increase your distrusting nature.
Do you have it in you to give him one more chance?
Across the house, Alessandra does her best to play matchmaker. She loves being the daughter of a single mom, you’ve raised her as best as you could, but Alessandra can’t help but to daydream about Charles being her father. It seemed so easy, so natural in his office. And she would do anything to see you happy.
Charles never gets a response from you, making him second guess everything. Similarly to you, he lays in a hotel room overthinking every word he types out. He’d do anything to go back in time and change how he handled his relationships. Maybe you’d have a family together with kids running around the paddock. A part of him wants so badly to join your family. Alessandra has clearly been raised well and you seem like a wonderful mother.
You and Charles fall asleep waiting for some miracle message that will answer all your doubts and questions. A message that never comes and leaves the two of you waking up to a twinge of sadness.
The morning sun streams through the window and you head out for a run. You used to hate running but it was a nice way to clear your mind when facing hard times while Alessandra was growing up so it stuck. There’s no reason that it wouldn’t help with yesterday’s situation.
You come to a stop at the backyard of the rental that overlooks the lake. Footsteps gently crush the earth as they near you, but you don’t turn. Instead you sit down, watching the early sun glisten off the water tranquilly. Your guest sits beside you, neither of you immediately saying a thing as to not disturb the peace.
“Do you remember that morning in Monaco?”
“When we fell asleep on the boat and work up thinking we were adrift at sea,” your lips quirk up into a smile at the memory before falling as you turn to look at the man beside you. “What are you doing here?”
“Making things right,” he answers, eyes meeting yours sincerely. You feel like you are swallowing a rock.
“Charles…”
“One more chance. Please,” there’s a weight to his voice you haven’t heard since he was beginning for you to hear him out.
“It took me so long to forget you, to live without you,”
“I know I broke your trust and I shouldn’t have hidden the break from you. I resisted moving on from you until I knew you weren’t coming back again, but the moment I saw you again,” Charles pauses, quickly debating if it’s too early in the morning for this conversation. “I couldn’t let you go, not without a fight. It’s always been you. Only you,” Charles wants to sweep you into his arms and kiss you like he did on the boat that morning in Monaco after you both frantically ran around not realizing you had docked.
“I don’t know what to say,” your voice is quiet. The twenty year old in you wants to take him back - she would’ve taken an apology once things cooled off back then, if he had shown up to her doorstep and begged forgiveness - but the mom in you is hesitant. “How did you know where I was?” the fact dawns on you, you never told him where you are staying. But it doesn’t take you more than a second to connect those dots.
“Don’t be mad, she is doing what she thinks will make you happy,” Charles defends Alessandra, tugging on your heart string. “You did a wonderful job raising her, by the way. I’ve only known her a day and it’s so clear that she takes after you,” you want to beam with pride, gloat at how wonderful your daughter is.
“Thank you. It’s not easy,” You feel the warmth of Charles’ hand on top of yours, making your breath hitch and heart flutter as heat rises to your cheeks. You feel like a teenager.
“There’s no need to rush into anything. We are both at a place in our lives where slow is preferable,” Charles adds on.
“Let’s go for a walk,” you motion to the small wooded trail that leads down the hill to the lake.
“I don’t want to stay longer than I’m welcome,” Charles tells you, a little nervous that he’s pushing his luck.
“I can’t go into something casual anymore. I’m a mom. Anyone I date has to be comfortable with that, they have to understand that they take on both a partner and father role,” you explain.
“I understand. There is nothing I would love more than to be that for you,” you don’t know if he’s saying it to appease you or because he is honest.
“I just don’t know. I’ve been alone for so long, I don’t know if this is the right thing,” you admit, voice quiet as your chest is heavy. If you could figure out where you are personally, maybe you could give him an answer.
“What can I do? I could barely focus on the race, on my job, in Monza, knowing you were out there. Getting to talk to Alessandra, I can de myself taking a role there too. Father, mentor, friend, whatever you think is right,” Charles persists, fighting like he should have long before. You stop at the point where the shore meets the tree-line, not yet stepping out of the woods.
“I don’t know,” you shake your head, tears threatening to well in your eyes. It’s just you, Charles, the trees, and the water just down the path. The intimacy is both stressful and putting you at ease. Charles doesn’t speak yet, instead choosing to step closer and tentatively wrap his arms around you.
You subconsciously sink into his warmth, allowing yourself to remember what his touch feels like, that feeling of safety and peace. It clears your mind more than any morning run. It feels right, like pieces of a puzzle locking into place. Without much of a thought, his lips are on yours, reminding you why you missed him.
“One more chance,” you are a bit breathless and a bit in shock, but your mind has the answers it’s been looking for.
“I’m not letting you go this time.”

YOU KILLED ALINA
While there is debate as to the physical presence of the real Alina Seo at the ████████ and Mining facility S-23 Sierpinski on Leng, the narrative presented to the player draws a picture of an Alina Seo having been there, experiencing the fall of the facility and leaving behind some notes that document this event; though she is nowhere to be found throughout the game... ...or is she?
What little we learn of her life at S-23 is contained in her four diary entries, which chronicle her contracting some form of flu, being quarantined in the medical wing, escaping the medical wing and fleeing from the corrupted replika and, finally, finding herself deep down in [NOWHERE], gradually losing her memories and her sense of self and starting to remember someone else's life, and crucially, her hair turning white.
Tumblr media
Aside from the picture of Alina that LSTR-S2301 has on her person, we are given another peek at her appearance thanks to a worker pass we find. On it, she has her trademark hair clips, but is bruised and has several bandages across her face and body.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the Nowhere section, Alina is mentioned a couple of times in the Rotfront and Ende sections, and each time her resemblance to Ariane is remarked upon. Ariane even wonders if one day she could "become like her", a decorated war hero.
Presumably, we do not see Alina again for the rest of the story. Elster, notably, drops all pretense of looking for her. We do, however, see her bandages.
On Ariane.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is in stark contrast to the first we ever see of Ariane, in the title sequence, where she is shown without any visible wounds or bandages.
Tumblr media
Based on these points, we can infer that Alina Seo, who was indeed on S-23, had literally become Ariane Yeong, overtaken by her psyche, in the same way LSTR-S2301, who was presumably on S-23, was subsumed by the memory of LSTR-512, who had died aboard the Penrose-512.
So, what does it all mean?
Well, it might very well imply that the promise Elster so heartbreakingly had to keep was not even fulfilled on the right person. Instead, through a tragic set of circumstances, she ended up killing the lover of her original gestalt neural pattern donor.
Ironically, the person like whom Ariane had one day hoped to become, ended up literally becoming Ariane instead and inheriting all the suffering that that entailed.
Further points:
While one might assume Lilith Itou would appear in Elster's lineage, she doesn't. Meanwhile, Alina prominently figures in the Ariane lineage. (Side note: both lines end in Falke.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alina's in-game model has white hair, and is just a recolored version of Ariane.
The bandages on Ariane are flipped from what we see on Alina, the same way as how the portrait on Ariane's medical file is the flipped and recolored version of Alina's keycard portrait.
Bonus GIF of bandages appearing on Ariane in the false ending:

I’m like sooo curious about the Aylin and Isobel after all this because we know they’re going help Selunite enclaves or whatever and I don’t think they’re ever gonna turn away from Selune really but I do wonder if there’s like a twinge of something about their relationship with the goddess now
because again I don’t think they’re gonna turn from her, but they both have their issues and trauma now. Aylin’s is a bit more obvious but I can’t stop thinking about how the game basically tells you that Isobel came back wrong and then never acknowledges that again.
Obviously she didn’t come back as wrong as some of her kin, but the first time we see her she seems ill with something. You can kinda dismiss that as being related to the Shadow curse without full context. Even if you read her diary, you can kinda dismiss it until you understand she’s Ketheric’s dead daughter.
Her diary:
Tumblr media
Like she clearly isnt being spurned by Selune completely as she still has cleric magic and can still protect Last Light, but the phrase “there are some things she would never accept in her devoted” is so ominous. Isobel clearly knows that Selune is having some problem with her and the fact that the problem isn’t as clear as being denied her magic makes it even more ominous. If not that, then what is happening that makes this clear to her?
Then there’s Aylin, who is literally the daughter of Selune, who was sent by her mother to the Thorms. And obviously there isn’t any regret there because of Isobel, but then the Isobel dies under vague circumstances that may or may not be Shar related based on cut content. Then the people that Selune sent Aylin to protect cage her and torture her and use her as a lab rat and organ donor and ritual sacrifice over and over again for the next 100 years.
Aylin was supposed to be an envoy of her mother and ended up being the instrument in which Shar made weapon after weapon. She’s unwillingly spreading the darkness she’s against and all because Selune sent her to these people. Literally 100 years where all she can do is die again and again until she can convince one Sharran to listen to her and not just kill her again.
And like, you can also take into account the possibility that Aylin is an oathbreaker now. I don’t personally buy the theory but I know a lot of people do suspect that her reaction to killing Lorrokan was due to it breaking her oath. I think it’s more likely a trauma response but we can look at this either way.
Because killing Lorrokan should have been the righteous move. He was trying to use and defile her, one of Selune’s children, for his own petty reasons. He was going to commit the same sins as Ketheric. And it wasn’t like Aylin was the only potential victim of him. We know he hurt Rolan, and no doubt many others. What would a man like that do with immortality?
But then killing him just makes her feel empty? She protected herself. Protected Selune’s sword and anyone else that might have been suffering under him. And it doesn’t fill her with the same righteous ecstasy that it should. Suddenly being the righteous paladin doesn’t feel good, it just feels empty.
And if you believe that it did break her oath, then what? She’s being punished by Selune for defending herself and others? She stopped Selune’s envoy from being used in the same profane ritual she just escaped from and gets rejected and punished for that? She’s the one accused of violating Selune?
Again, I don’t personally think the reaction was caused by breaking her oath, but I think it’s a compelling angle to look at, at least.
And all of this to say that again, I don’t think either of them are going to turn against Selune and I don’t think they have a very strong reason to. But I do wonder how their relationship with her has changed in the last 100 years while Aylin was being forced to die for Shar over and over again and Isobel was forced to live by Mrykul, completely unprotected by the moonmaiden they had both been absolutely devoted to.
I just wonder what was going through their heads when they talked to Shadowheart about her past and the fact that she has a choice now, that Selune would take her back after a life time of Sharran indoctrination and crimes committed in her name. Now she has a choice. I wonder if in that moment, there wasn’t even the smallest bit of bitterness toward Selune on their part.

Bumps Along the Way
Larissa x Shapeshifter!Reader Pregnant!Reader Pregnant!Larissa
Warnings: Pregnancy struggles, Pregnancy/childbirth, Miscarriages, Mental illness, Swears or curses, Infant Death, Stillborn, PTSD, Panic attacks
A/N: This story is going to be heavy, it deals with real life situations that most don’t understand the pain of. 1 in 4 women will experience this in their lifetime, remember you don’t know everyone's history. Please be kind and I'm sorry if this makes you sob like it did me writing it.
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: From the beginning
You and Larissa had been married now for 3 years, life had settled down and you both were extremely happy. Last year the school board decided to build a small 3 bedroom cottage on the school grounds for the headmistress and yourself as you both were longtime teachers and administrators of the school and had no intentions of leaving. You were coming up on your tenth year teaching at Nevermore and Larissa had been here since she was 15, the school, the students, etc.. it was your home. You would still have your old quarters attached to Larissa’s office for on-call nights, but you were ecstatic that you both had a real home on the grounds of your favorite place to be. It was far enough to have a bit of privacy, but close enough that if a student or teacher needed either of you.
As time went on and life settled down the two of you decided that you wanted to start a family, this though turned out to be no easy feat though. After multiple tries and tests, you were losing hope that you would ever get pregnant. You knew that both of you being shapeshifters meant that you wouldn’t have to find a donor or go through IVF, but you didn’t realize all the complications that would follow. Larissa was ecstatic about getting you pregnant, but the more time that passed you could see the saddened look on her face that she tried to hide with every negative test. After four months of negative tests, you decided to see an outcast OBGYN. After several tests you learned that your egg count was very low and the possibility of becoming pregnant was very slim. You were prescribed a various amount of medications, shots and hormones to take to hopefully assist you in your journey.
Larissa was the most kind and patient wife to you, supporting you through it all, giving you your shots while you cried every night and holding you after whispering sweet praises into your hair of how well you did. She kept a diary of your temperatures and cycles and finally after three months you two cried at the positive test setting on the counter. You were finally pregnant. You kept the pregnancy quiet not wanting to tell anyone until you knew the gender. The weeks went by and everything was going to plan, spending your evening curled up in her embrace on the sofa or bed adding things together to your pinterest boards. You had decided on a soft yellow nursery minimalist theme with little touches of gray here and there. As you approached your 20 week scan you were booming with excitement, you were halfway to meeting your little one, everything had gone so well and you found out that you were having a girl! You had painted the nursery and bought a beautiful teak wood crib and matching rocking chair. A soft yellow changing table was placed in the corner of the room, and hung above it was a sign that said “Baby Weems”. You had a soft yellow dresser next to it filled with onesies, diapers and all the other bits you would need. Larissa spent many evenings working on all the little things while you sat in the rocker watching her, cradling your bump and smiling. You had so much love for your unborn baby, and so did Larissa. The sweet little kisses to your bump and the way she talked to the baby were so lovely and gentle.
After dinner you two had decided on an early night, you had enjoyed a wonderful Mediterranean salad with grilled chicken and feta cheese (your new craving) and decided to take a nice hot shower together before climbing in bed. Larissa wrapped her arms around you and left small kisses on your neck before pulling you just a smidge closer and drifting off to sleep. But nothing could prepare you for the night that was about to unfold. You woke up to a sharp pain in your lower abdomen and a wet feeling between your legs. You shook Larissa awake and started to cry and shake uncontrollably when she turned on the bedside lamp and sucked in a breath when she saw the crimson stained sheets. Your voice shook as you tried to talk, but were overcome by another sharp pain. “Th-...The baby..” You cried out at her. She was up and out of bed immediately and grabbed you a new set of shorts. “It's okay my love, let's quickly change you out of those wet shorts and we will go straight to the hospital. I'll call doctor Montgomery on our way to meet us. Larissa gently cleaned you up in record time and carried you out to the car wrapped in a blanket. She had pulled you two into the Jericho emergency room lot in record time, picking you up as you cried out in pain and all but ran through the doors. Your doctor was waiting in the lobby for you and had a wheelchair ready. Your mind was spinning and you held your belly with one hand and Larissa’s with the other as you were rushed up to Labor and delivery.
The nurses tried to help you change, but you wouldn’t let them, you didn't want anyone to touch you but Larissa. She helped you change into a gown and they started an IV of fluids on you as your doctor did an ultrasound. During the process you felt a gush of fluid between your legs and your eyes went wide and you could only cry harder. Larissa held you as you kept a death grip onto her. When Dr. Montgomery spoke, you sobbed your heart out and Larissa couldn’t hold herself together anymore. “I’m so sorry Mrs. Weems… There is no heartbeat.” The words sounded like venom to your ears and before you could even speak a contraction ripped through your body, leaving you with a hoarse scream. Y/n I need to see how far dilated you are okay? Baby is too big so we're going to have to do this the old fashion way okay. “No!... I'm not ready!” You sobbed as she put on a pair of gloves and maneuvered your legs for you, you buried your face into Larissa’s chest. “Sweetheart you are already at 9cm, unfortunately we can't give you anything for the pain right now as you are too far progressed.” She looked at Larissa with a sorrowful expression as you writhed in pain. “I’ll be back in just a moment.” She excused herself to let the nurses know what was going on and that they were going to need extra support. By the time she got back into the room you were in full blown tears and squeezing Larissa’s hand for support. The nurses started to quietly come into the room without you noticing. The doctor whispered something to Larissa and she nodded, helping you sit up slightly as she lowered the back of the bed a bit. Larissa toed off her shoes and jacket and slid in behind you legs draped over the sides of the bed you could sit back against her and she could wrap you in an embrace.
You calmed only slightly in her hold. You were too zoned out in pain and mental exhaustion to realize the doctor checking you and putting your feet up in the stirrups. “Y/N its time to start pushing sweetheart” Dr. Montgomery said, lightly tapping your leg to get your attention. You looked up at Larissa with tears falling down your face. “I can’t do this” you spoke in a strangled cry. “My love you can, listen to your body it will guide you.” Your wife spoke softly through her own tears. As if on cue your body took over and you pushed with all you had in you. After two more pushes you felt your body relax and a tiny baby wrapped lightly in a blanket was put on your chest into your arms. You cried harder than you ever have before. Looking down at your baby now earthside and heavenside all at once. Larissa’s arms never releasing your hold as you trailed a finger down the baby’s tiny cheek. You felt another pain that wasn’t as bad as before and something released from your body. The nurses cleaned you up and helped you change into a new gown, never letting your baby leave your arms. The doctor told Larissa to take all the time you needed with her, and they dimmed the lights and left the room giving you some privacy.
Larissa had now shifted next to you and you were curled up in her arms, both of you cradling your tiny baby. She held the baby’s tiny hand with her fingers, softly stroking it. “We are going to be okay, my love.” She whispered to you. You spent 4 hours with your sweet, tiny little girl before the nurses came in and told you it was time. You cried silently into Larissa’s chest when they took her away. She let her tears fall into your hair as she held you.  Two days later you went home, with no baby. You felt empty and lost. The funeral was tomorrow and you didn’t know how you were going to handle it. The time came and went and upon arriving back at your home you both were shocked to see your front yard and steps decorated with cards and flowers from what you could believe was from every student at nevermore. You silently let a few tears go, as did Larissa. Walking in to your home you noticed a card on your counter. Opening it you read the familiar cursive.
“The fridge and freezer are stocked with enough meals for several weeks. We all love you, take all the time you need, your Nevermore family will be here when you need us. -Much Love, Marilyn”

One Shot: The Richmond Vixen
I have a wine buzz and haven't written in forever. Ted Lasso is renewed for another season and I'm missing these characters so much, I couldn't wait any longer. Please excuse any typos, this is a stream of consciousness. Love you all! Note: This one-shot takes place prior to season 3 (before Ted returns to the States & before Roy and Keeley break up — because if I'm honest, that wrecked me.)
Summary: When Richmond's latest employee gets a makeover from Rebecca and Keeley, Ted finds it hard to keep his eyes off of her...and he's not the only one
Warnings: Body insecurity, minor ED mention, creepy men, jealous/protective Ted
Tumblr media
_____________________________________________________________
Three months had passed since your first day working as a Communications Manager at AFC Richmond. While you loved reporting into Higgins, you knew you needed to find some female energy. He was adorable, but he wasn't someone you could share your dating woes with. Needless to say, it didn't take long for you to join the girl gang on their daily lunch breaks. Your dating life was a hot topic for Rebecca and Keeley, namely because the two had relationships of their own. You didn't mind though. Frankly, you needed their input on the string of dates you'd been on, your most recent leaving much to be desired. They loved to give you honest feedback, and joke about the suspected crush Ted had on you. This, to your knowledge, was far from true. He was nice to everyone.
Speaking of — "Hey there, ladies!" Ted greets the three of you from the doorway of Rebecca's office.
"Ted, hey!" You reply, grateful for the reprieve of your latest dating disaster recap. "Whatcha doing up in this neck of the woods?"
He smiles, a faint blush twinging his cheeks, "Oh ya know, just wanted to swing by and say hello to my favorite coworkers." Keeley and Rebecca both glance your way discretely and you promptly ignore them.
"Ted, why are you really here?" Rebecca asks, cutting straight to the chase.
"Right, well," he shakes out his shoulders and stands taller, "I wanted to double check with you on the dress code for tonight. Is this like a suit thing? A golf shirt thing? A toga thing?" He laughs at the end of his joke while you simultaneously snort out your nose.
Clapping a hand over your mouth in embarrassment you just let out a humiliated, "Oh my god." You're met with a chorus of laughter and a stare from Ted that makes you want to melt. It's that soft look he gives, eyes curved around the edges, a smile on his face.
"That was fucking adorable," Keeley says between laughs. "Anyways, Ted." She turns to address him, "I will answer that question given my role as the resident party planner. Please look your sharpest, we will have donors at the event so, dress to impress, yeah?"
"Aw fuck," You say, before looking wide eyed between Keeley and Rebecca. "Sorry. Slipped out. I had no idea this was a, like, fancy thing." Suddenly you're hit with a wave of anxiety. You'd thought you could get by with a casual but professional look. Clearly you'd missed that memo.
"Oh my god." Keeley says, gripping your arm, "This is my moment. I'm going to Princess Diaries you."
"Hey now," Ted points a finger at Keeley, "Miss Thermopolis was perfectly fine the way she was. Frankly that Paolo guy had a bad attitude." Rebecca barks out a laugh, "I have to agree. Plus this case isn't nearly as difficult. I mean, look at her, she's stunning." Rebecca's compliment draws a deep blush to your face.
"I'm not equipped to handle compliments, please stop before my face starts on fire," you moan. You don't miss Ted's soft chuckle from the doorway.
"Oh come ON," Keeley begs, shaking your shoulders as Rebecca laughs besides her. "You always look beautiful babes but please, please let me." You roll your eyes and look exasperatingly at Rebecca for help. She just shrugs in response, a silent communication that you were, in fact, NOT winning this argument.
"Ok FINE. But only because I'm like, two seconds away from spiraling over my lack of outfit options."
"Prin-CESS of Genovia," Ted salutes you as he turns to head back down to the locker room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One thing you hadn't expected was the wave of dread settling over you as you looked through the racks of dresses. A history of disordered eating left you feeling depleted when it came to body confidence.
Rebecca, ever the intuitive friend, notices first. "It's a lot, I get it. Trust me, do I get it," She huffs out a self deprecating laugh. You nod with a small smile. "You're going to look beautiful in anything you wear. We'll find the perfect dress." It took an hour before you finally found the perfect dress. Pulling back the dressing room curtain, Keeley lets out an excited squeal and Rebecca nods in satisfaction. "Absolutely stunning," she compliments.
You smile at them both, looking in the full length mirror at the short but tasteful little black dress. It clung to your curves in the most flattering way, showing a little cleavage while also being appropriate for a work event. You couldn't remember the last time you'd felt this beautiful.
"Ok Ted is going to lose his fucking shit," Keeley holds both hands up to her cheeks, "And I know you're going to deny that he likes—" "Who said I'm denying anything?" You reply, a newfound confidence in you.
Keeley and Rebecca cause a scene in the dressing room with their loud reactions to your comment. "Fucking YES," Keeley high-fives Rebecca, "Ok put it on my card, we're on a time crunch. We need to do hair and makeup at mine."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At eight o'clock on the dot, the three of you (and Roy, your chauffeur for the evening), arrive at the venue. Your stomach flutters at the thought of seeing Ted tonight, and you're suddenly concerned your look is too much.
"Um, Rebecca." You prompt, before opening the car door, "Are you sure this isn't...too much?" You gesture to yourself. Your hair was blown out and styled with loose waves (a la Keeley) and she'd insisted on a "dewey makeup look." Needless to say, it was a lot more than you usually wore, but at the same time, not too over the top. Your mind raced as you tried to fend off the negative self talk encroaching on your evening.
"Love," She takes your hand, holding it in hers, "You are absolutely stunning. Tonight? Tonight you're just an elevated version. The Vixen Version." "THE RICHMOND VIXEN," Keeley shouts excitedly as Roy turns to her with a soft smile.
"Oh, yes, I love that!" Rebecca snaps her fingers, "Now go, I need to witness Ted's reaction." As it turns out, Ted wasn't the only one with a reaction — half the Richmond team also couldn't keep their eyes off of you. "Love, don't take this the wrong way, but you look unbe-fuckin'-lievable." Jamie greets you with his classic smile, and you laugh and roll your eyes.
"Thank you Jamie, you look wonderful yourself." The two of you had a totally platonic friendship. He was not your type, and frankly, you were too tame for him.
"You should dress like that more often." Jan Maas says from beside him, "I think you'd probably have a boyfriend if you did, no?"
You throw your head back in laughter as Jamie shoots him an incredulous look, "What the hell is wrong with you, mate?"
Jan Maas looks confused, as if he didn't insult your daily wardrobe, and you give him a pat on the shoulder, "Maybe you're onto something there."
You take a minute to scan the room, meeting eye contact quickly with Ted, who smiles and sends you a wave.
"I'll be back, boys," You say to Jamie and Jan Maas, heading over towards Ted. You feel his eyes on you, and don't miss how they rake over your body. Your prior insecurities fade as you make your way toward him, his kind eyes making you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.
"Well hi there," He greets, and you give him a quick hug. His hand lingers for a few seconds on your lower back as you pull away.
"Ted, you look nice!" You compliment, taking in his navy suit.
"Oh right back atcha. That dress is —" he stutters over his words, and you smile with a blush staining your cheeks.
"It's courtesy of Keeley," you finish his sentence, sparing him.
He shakes his head with a small smile, "I was gonna say, that dress looks fantastic on you. If it's not too forward of me."
Your heart slams against your chest as you take in his words. Was he...flirting?
"Not too forward at all," You say, staring down at your heels shyly.
"Damn near took out half the team when you walked in here." Ted joked, his eyes twinkling.
"Oh shut up," you smack his arm, face turning even more red.
"Gettin' all red again," He points out, and you could swear you hear him say "Adorable," softly, as if to himself.
"Urgh I know, all the foundation in the world can't cover it." You start to fan at your cheeks, "Stop making me blush on purpose. It's mean."
He smiles, taking a sip of his beer, "I apologize, you're right. I gotta be chivalrous. Say, what do you think about —" A man interrupts Ted and moves in to stand beside you, "Sorry to interrupt, Coach Lasso," He greets, and Ted gives him a curt nod.
The mystery man turns to you and extends his hand, "I don't believe we've met, I'm James Langley, President of the AFC Richmond Board." He smiles at you, his eyes twinkling in a way that doesn't sit well.
You introduce yourself, smiling politely, and nervously run a hand through your hair when he continues to ask you questions as if Ted isn't even there.
You glance sideways at Ted, who is standing by idly with an unimpressed look on his face. You've never seen Ted Lasso regard someone with disdain before, and you'd be lying if you didn't think it was sexy.
"Thank you for supporting the team," You say as the conversation hits a lull, "Ted and I actually need to make some rounds, meet the rest of you generous donors!" You say with a false sense of gratitude. Not that James Langley picked up on it, he was too busy staring at your chest.
"Ted," You say extending your arm to the side as the two of you make a speedy escape.
"Fucking creep," Ted mutters, his hand once again finding your lower back to help guide you through the crowded space.
Once you take refuge on the far side of the room, you let out a laugh, "Didn't realize my eyes relocated to my chest," you comment, shaking your head at James' blatant lack of decorum.
"Ain't right," Ted shakes his head, that same sexy angry look on his face, "What, he thinks just because he gives the club thousands of pounds a year he can stare at you like that?" Your eyes soften as you gently touch his arm, "It's okay Ted," you say.
"No, no it ain't. I'm sorry that you had to endure that. I shoulda done something," He runs his hand frustratedly over his mustache.
"Ok, no it's not okay that he's a total creep. But it's okay now, we're hanging over here," You run your hand up and down his arm gently, trying to ignore the electric current flowing through you as a result.
"Yeah," He nods, his eyes going soft again.
"Plus," You say, grabbing two flutes of champagne off of a passing waiter's tray, "I like hiding in a corner with you." You hand Ted the other flute and the two of you clink them in cheers.
He smiles at you so genuinely it nearly breaks your heart, "Me too." You both stand in silent contentment for a few minutes before Ted clears his throat and looks at you, "So that date you were telling Rebecca and Keeley about before I walked in today..." You groan, "I swear to God, Ted, don't make me relive it." He laughs and shakes his head, "Well, I couldn't help but overhear that he took you to the Crown and Anchor, which is actually my turf." He points to his chest in a joking way.
"Is that so?"
"Indeed. And ain't nobody deserves to have a bad time at the Crown and Anchor." You laugh at that, "I am so sorry to report that was me. I had a bad time at the Crown and Anchor." Ted smiles, looking down at his feet before his eyes meet yours. Suddenly a bit more vulnerable, "How 'bout a redo?"
Your cheeks warm as you consider his words, "A redo?"
He nods, searching your eyes and his mouth lifting up at the corners when he sees a smile overtake your face, "Yeah. You and me, a drink at the Crown and Anchor after this fancy circus is done?"
You take a sip of champagne and pretend to think it over, "Yeah, I think I'd like a redo."
teen wolf + the vampire diaries (hella) au: Stiles was adopted (and he knows it) + Stiles is a Mikaelson
Klaus hadn't particularly wanted his son, at first, but he'd nonetheless loved him from the minute he first held him in his arms....loved him more than his own ambitions, more than his own life.
So, when the enemies kept coming, he did the least selfish thing he'd ever done in his long life. He sent him away to keep him safe.
... though, not TOO far. Just to one of the great granddaughters of one of Kol's witches. He wasn't a fucking martyr.
Nobody expected Claudia to die when Stiles was still so young, or the bloodline magic that had been keeping her son hidden from the supernatural to fail.
But it had.
Sooooo, maybe Stiles should have expected his melodramatic sperm donor to come sashaying back into town at some point, given that. But he could maybe be forgiven for not expecting it to happen just in time for shit to break bad with the Alpha Pack.
And now, he had to find a way to tell the perpetually paranoid Hales and their bitchy betas that the obnoxious little human...kind wasn't that. Well.... wasn't totally human, anyway. Obnoxious was kind of a given.
