1. I was thinking about an aroace Sonic who says things that can be taken as wildly flirty/romantic but he just means them genuinely. “You have beautiful eyes, I keep getting distracted while looking at them,” not cause he’s interested romantically in them but because eyes can be really cool and pretty man I dunno what to tell you he likes looking at cool things and he thinks his friends are neat. “You’re the most beautiful person here,” because he really thinks that, he loves his friends

2. Sonic randomly dropping heartfelt genuine comments on his friends out of the blue completely blindsiding them and then moves on like nothing happened while they’re left going ?????? Bonus points if he does something immensely stupid or jerkish just before or immediately afterwards and they can’t tell if he was serious or not with the compliment (yes he was)

3. Sonic usually being so allergic to truly vulnerable moments that when he expresses something heartfelt randomly Tails thinks he’s been stabbed or something and does not believe him when he reassures him that he’s fine he’s fine he’s not dying yeesh

Hey I think a neat way to show the cognital dissonance a lot of character have towards C!Dream is have his hair be pure white after the prison, have it described at white whenever someone is describing him physically, but have the characters still refer to him as blond

Techno makes a joke about how Dream looks like am old man now and Philza doesn't get it. Techno over and over explaining "you know, because of the color of his hair" but Philza always says that Dream's hair is dark blonde, how does that make him an old man?

Looking at Dream, taking in all the differences, would mean understanding that he didn't look like that before the prison, that whatever happened it was them who put him there, and one of them who did it.

So to Phil his hair is still blonde, to Tommy his eyes are still green, to Sapnap his clothes are still form fitting. His hands are still steady, there is no new scars on his skin, he does not lean against his weapons while he walks.

Janeway crashing on Tuvok's couch post Voyager is a funny idea to me because make no mistake, she COULD just get another house in the no-money Earth future or stay with her own family but I think what she really needs is to just bounce between her new Admiral's office and Tuvok's guest room for a few months so she never has to think about her own personal life and she and Tuvok can talk about how fine they are and how unnecessary everyone's worry about them is while they're both very clearly going through something. Bonus points if this is latter mirrored by Tuvok staying at Janeway's place a bit later on and Janeway doesn't even know why and doesn't quite know how to broach the subject with Tuvok because they don't usually talk about that sort of thing and neither wants to change that part of their relationship because it's one of the few things that hasn't changed and that's comforting so she takes him on some maybe not totally official mission with her instead and it goes sideways and everyone gets mad at them. There's no real resolution to this, every planet just keeps spinning.

This response is going to derail.

My thoughts about any and all non-western breeds are that English (or Norwegian, which are inevitably translated from English) sources are rubbish, and the current media environment makes it near-impossible to search for anything.

This isn't new. This is western dog fancy.

My search engines will organize my location-based results over the things i actually write in the search field. My English-language and Latin-alphabet search results will inevitably land me search results in English.

Which means that from my scope, the wui hei quan dog could be anything from a fabricated tiktok trend featuring a black "chow" puppy to a genuine heavily pigmented regional breed of Chinese farmdog ("garden dog" but I've been around this translation block before, i c u). I'm tempted to lean toward the latter, just because the google search results want me to exchange "wui hei quan dog" for "xiasi dog," and the regions those are supposed to originate from are some minor fifteen travel hours apart. Which is a little bit like exchanging a Norwegian buhund for a German schnauzer. A household/farmdog from comparable regions. Right?

We run into this problem pretty often. You've got your chows and your shar peis, but otherwise, not-noble breeds are easily overlooked. Pekingese were "stolen" from the aristocracy so they're novel, our knowledge of Japanese breeds curiously spikes after WW2. You can throw a racism argument and I agree, but let's add a class card as well. How many regional Chinese ratters do FCI recognize?

Our knowledge of dogs is limited by access, language, and curiosity. We have access, arguably, and to an extent we can overcome language barriers. But I'm not sure we're curious enough.

In short, I've got zero to no thoughts about the wui hei quan dog or wuyishan black dog, because I know nothing about it. I would love to have more thoughts. I'd love to hear about regional asian dog breeds and their quirks and their qualms and politics.

Very interesting how in the duga ending Perseus is genuinely delighted that you're still alive and welcomes you back as his comrade with open arms and he's supposed to be the bad guy whereas the "good guys" of the game make it very clear in their treatment of you that they do not think of you as a person let alone their friend.

Something about Dion physically looking like a younger Augustus but clearly being visually paired with Dona. Something about them being the only two members of the family we can mostly be certain aren’t psychic. Something about Dona pushing him and Raz back together bc (based on the cut bottled emotions lines) she knows how that he’s just scared and wrapped up in his teen angst, that he really does love Raz under it all.

Something about Dion seeming like a glimpse into a version of who Dona probably was at one point. Something about Dona being there to show him that it’s worth it to keep trying.
