History has painted women as witches, sorceresses, and deceptive beauties capable of leading innocent men astray. So can you blame us if we dwell on our looks too much, when that's all we've ever been reduced to?

Tell me how not to love her. I heard someone once said she was the “female Edgar Alan Poe”, I have to say I disagree. Don’t take me wrong, I love Poe, but I think their writing is very different. They both know what mystery and gothic literature are but Agatha’s it’s just more unique by the fact it feels so real and can sumerge you in the story with a quality of detail.
If you haven’t read her, you should.

“We do not think of it every day, but we never forget it: the beloved shall grow old, or ill, and be taken away finally. No matter how ferociously we fight, how tenderly we love, how bitterly we argue, how pervasively we berate the universe, how cunningly we hide, this is what shall happen. In the wide circles of timelessness, everything material and temporal will fail, including the manifestation of the beloved. In this universe we are given two gifts: the ability to love, and the ability to ask questions. Which are, at the same time, the fires that warm us and the fires that scorch us.”

The absolutely beautiful artwork of Stephanie Hans in 'The Wicked and The Divine 1831'. Writing by Kieron Gillen.
'Every ninety years twelve gods return as young people. They are loved. They are hated. In two years, they are dead. The year is 1831. It's happening now. It's happening again.'
Featuring Lord Byron as Lucifer, Percy Shelley as the Morrigan, Mary Shelley as Woden, Claire Claremont as Inanna, John Keates as Hades, Edgar Allen Poe as Thoth, Samuel Coleridge as Morpheus and The Brontes as the Fates.

being a minor and also a fan of classic lit is so funny sometimes.
like last week i had a debate with my english teacher about edgar allan poe and william yeats. last year i explained to my english teacher the impact of the divine comedy on modern interpretations of hell. same thing happened when i brought up david lynch in visual art.
these teachers must be so concerned abt me <33

Queen of Knives (I don't have my own copy of Smoke and Mirrors with me and didn't find a link)
Mahabharata
Paul Revere's Ride
Bisclavret
The Waste Land
The Cremation of Sam McGee
The Raven
Divine Comedy
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Okay so I still have a few names (notably Robert Frost, Edgar Allan Poe, Lewis Carroll and John Milton) in mind for at least another poll, maybe two or even three if you make suggestions. Thank you for the ones you've already made, by the way ! (I favor the lay of the Honeysuckle but it'll go in another poll just as the Shooting of Dan McGrew)
Yes I know this one is difficult too. Good luck.
My tag for this series is 'narrative poems'. Other poetry polls in my 'poetry' tag.

Have you seen as I have seen?
A dimple here and a divot there,
Yes, I have seen as you have seen:
Such pale reflection, a complexion fair,
Fair as the moon would look in a mirror.
The divinity that is looking back, —
With a luster that shall never lack,
What I have seen and you have seen,
Is only such beauty of that in a dream.
