Guys please my James McAvoy hyperfixation is going crazy but where is the archive? So many people don't know some of his very awesome characters :( I watched The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby Him and Her variations with Jessica Chastain why doesn't anyone know these movies? They're so good. I really recommend them. As well as Becoming Jane with Anne Hathaway. It's about Jane Austen and the movie is really good.

As an editor I use scenepacks alot and there are barely any of James' characters. So many of them aren't popular enough 😔😔 please guys we need more James McAvoy support he's still so underrated 🙏🙏

Happy March of the OCs Part 2!

okay, so I don't really write with OCs very often, but I do like thinking about side characters and giving them random backstories and families and things :) So here's some more sims posting, this time with all the characters I've pulled out to pad up the world!

Sara Cavanaugh

Sara is Kat Cavanaugh's sister, and they love each other a lot but cannot stand to be together for longer than approximately four hours. Kat thinks Sara is materialistic and vain, Sara thinks Kat is pig-headed and selfish. They're both right and they're both wrong, as often is the case when it comes to people. Sara does appreciate material things and takes pride in her appearance, and she can be quick to judge based on appearances, but she also works hard for very little thanks and cares very deeply about her community.

Eleanor Rigby

Eleanor is about eight years old, and she's Captain Wayne Rigby's daughter. I picture him as a single dad, and someone he worries about a lot and that a lot of his grouch with Kayo was misdirected anxiety about having to constantly leave Eleanor behind while he was working overtime. Eleanor's super resilient though, and mostly saw bouncing around her friends' homes as a bit of an adventure. She love love loves the outdoors and is a huge 'Into the Unknown' fan. Her biggest dream at the moment is to become a vet at a zoo.

Aidan Hawkins and Theo Hawkins-McCready

I imagine by the time Virgil meets Cass, she's a single mum with two very rambunctious sons, but for my sims save, I'm playing a little further back in the story haha, so meet her fiance, Aidan, and eldest son, Theo. Aidan is a very romantic and outgoing person but it's paired with intense insecurities and poor communication that creates a very tumultuous relationship for Cass. They both love each other, and Cass gets swept up in his grand gestures, but they struggle a lot with co-dependency and trust issues. Cass sacrifices a lot for Aidan at the expense of her career and eventually they split. Theo right now is just super cute lol <3 He's about three or four when Cass meets Virgil, and his younger brother Jordan (not pictured) is two.

Lesley Hoffman, Franklin Hoffman-Casey and Dante Hoffman-Casey

This is Colonel Casey's family :D Lesley is her wife and they have two children, Franklin and Dante. They're good friends with the Tracys through Val of course, and although they grew apart a bit after Jeff disappeared, they're still considered family friends. Lesley and Val met through a mutual friend and connected over their shared love of music and breakfast foods. Franklin is about Kayo's age, just a little younger than John, and Dante is between Alan and Gordon. Lesley "and the kids" get a brief mention in this story here :)

The Patterson Family (aka Space Controller Conrad's Family)

Conrad's family are ultra high-achievers and high-expectations and they expect big things from Conrad - he's the youngest and as he says in the episode Long Haul, his siblings are heroes in his eyes (a fire-fighter, a police officer, and a paramedic) and he feels the pressure. I kinda roll with the idea that he's several years younger than his siblings, similar to Alan being several years younger than his brothers, and so here they are. Anyway, this is them in the sims world! From top left to bottom right: Daphne and Ed, then Lawrence, the fire-fighter, Raelynn, the police officer, and Quentin, the paramedic. I have more thoughts, but they're mostly about Conrad so I'll move on for now ;D

Joanne and Walter Hackett

Joanne and Walter are Madeline Lemaire's parents :) I put the Lemaire's in a big giant house, and then made myself sad by headcanoning that they wanted kids and couldn't have them, and so I moved in her parents to make things seem a little less lonely. They're much more sensible than their son-in-law, but mostly see him as harmlessly eccentric. Walter is really into fishing and constantly taking Lemaire out on the boat for a boys day (which he hates lol), and Joanne is very into throwing dinner parties and trying out new cocktail recipes for her guests.

David Reeves

David is Tycho's twin brother purely because I think I'm funny xD He's a bit geeky and works as a primary school teacher, coaching a kids' football team and things. Because Tycho's busy jetting off around the world, David keeps a guest room for him and takes in his mail and things (I know paper mail probs won't exist but SHH). Their parents died when David and Tycho were in their twenties still, so they make sure they do Christmas and birthdays and things together and catch up as often as possible.

Gregory Moffat

This is Gregory, who is Moffie's teenage son (and also my son) and I am extremely fond of him <33 He's pretty quiet really, and plays bass guitar in a band with his friends. Moffie was a little exasperated, because he learnt the cello first and she had visions of seeing him play in an orchestra and things, but he got into an argument at the first practice and ultimately ditched it. He also like art and architecture and is very loyal to his friends.

The Taylor Family

I love the headcanon that Lucille and Lee are siblings, and I also love that she came from a large family as well (it makes sense in my head) and also I stole @avengedbiologist's idea that all the siblings have L names because I love it. I aged up the family to show you what they look like, but I haven't fixed them up fully so it's just a general idea :D Anyway, here we have Connor and Payton Taylor, and then Leonard, Laura and Lily. Leonard is the oldest, then Laura, then it's Lucille and Lee (twins for maximum ow), then Lily is the baby of the family.

I have actually written them into a story (veeeeeery loosely) here :)

The house of hidden miracles as aesthetics

The house of hidden miracles (my current wip) is set in two different time periods: In the 1880s following the Blanchard family, and modern day following the students at Blanchard academy. Here are some mood boards, songs, and similar vibes to the time periods:

Plot overview: The 1880s storyline is told through the diary of Isabella Holloway, the first born heiress to the Holloway fortune who is forced to run away from home with her younger brother after she finds out about a plot for her inheritance. She finds herself wandering aimlessly in the woods which is when they come across three members of the Blanchard family who offer them refuge at their home. Little does she know that there is a reason why the Blanchard family start disconnected from most of society.

Now...

For those who like: Marauders, the inheritance games, wild child. Songs: Everybody wants to rule the world by tears for fears, Dark red by Steve Lacy, Chelsea Dagger by the fratellis, Eleanor rigby (cody fry cover) Plot overview: Blanchard manor has become an academy for child genius's. The modern day storyline follows Ivy O'Connor and her friends which are students at Blanchard academy. However this year there is a new student at Blanchard, Ivy's sworn rival. Things get worse when they all get put in a group together for a group project with the prompt 'lost stories' which sends them down a rabbit hole to investigate the disappearance of the Blanchard family in 1889.

Merhaba! Gerçekten güzel ve farklı bir filmle geldim bu sefer. Bu film serisi Eleanor Rigby’ nin Kayboluşu’ nu adamın, kadının ve ikisinin gözlerinden bize sunuyor. Nasıl mı? Aslen bir festival filmiymiş bu. Conor’ ın gözlerinden olaylara bakıyoruz, bilmediğimiz çok şey var; bir dolu eksik parça. Daha sonra da aynı olayları Eleanor’un gözlerinden izliyoruz. Son olaraksa Them’ de her iki filmin bir kolajını izliyoruz. Bana sorarsanız ilk iki film izlemeye değer çünkü iki filmde de karakterlerin kendi bakış açısını izlerken detayların değiştiğini, ikisinin olayları farklı hatırladığını ve yorumladığını görüyoruz. Hafıza çok tuhaf bir şey.

Ayrıca filmin tam anlamıyla ‘’güzel’’ olduğunu söyleyebilir miyim lütfen... Yani estetik açıdan. Film sizi yormayan, anlatmak istediğini bolca zamana yayarak anlatan ferah bir film. Yönetmen eğer 3. filmde yaptığı gibi bunu direkt olarak bir kolaj gibi yayınlasaymış olayların derinliğini göremezmişiz. 

Ayrıca filmin duyguları renkler ile anlatmasını çok sevdim. Conor’ın filmi ve hatta onu içeren tüm sahnelerde hep mavi renk yoğunlukta, Eleanor’ da ise turuncu. Eleanor kızıl saçlı ve Conor’ın bunu sevdiği belli oluyor. Eleanor’un dünyası sıcak renklerle dolu olsa da yine de karanlık ve boğucu, zor bir dönem geçiriyor ve kocası ile ilişkisi çökmekte.

Eleanor bu evi hiç bu kadar soğuk görmemişti. 

Filmler hakkında kesin olan şey ise ister Him’i  ister Her’ü  izleyin tamamen farklı bir bakış açısına sahip olacaksınız. Gerçekten zekice yazılmış bir filmdi. Sonu gerçekten kafa karıştırıcı ve üzücü artık hangisini kabul ederseniz onu alacaksınız. Çok güzel bir deneyimdi ve her iki başrol oyuncusunun da kendi parlama fırsatları olduğu için sevindim.

Küçük bir not: Conor’ın (James Mcavoy’un) versiyonunu daha çok sevdim.

i rewatched the disappearance of eleanor rigby last week and seeing how eleanor recluses herself at her parents’ house and the only friend we end up seeing her have is a “temporary” one who also “serves” as some form of therapy being played by viola davis (who’s also the only black person in the cast but that’s not the subject), vs seeing connor who also ends up as his father’s place but we see him interact with friends (which yes they work together which facilities it) makes me think how isolated women ends up being in adulthood. that’s it that’s my point

Where did you get your inspiration for Linger?

Hi! This is a very good question but also a very complex one, because I feel like the actual draft of Linger that I've been posting has been stewing inside my mind since forever. So I'll try to split everything in points.

The Game: The idea of the game was something I've wanted to write about since I first watched Jeux d'enfants when I was like 12, but it was only with Damen/Laurent that I thought I could make it work. A game of dares to disguise the fact that they were in love and couldn't tell each other because the timing was never right? Hell yeah.

The Pace: I loved the idea of telling a story throughout the span of the character's lifetime, which also happens in the novel (and film) One Day and in Normal People -- another book with a fantastic tv adaptation by the BBC. (Other good references include The Way We Were and Love Story.)

Relationships: Closer and Scenes From a Marriage had a major influence too when it came to unhealthy relationships and coping mechanisms. Then there was also The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby on loss, grief and healing.

Music: I'm a very musical person more than I am a writer or a reader. I loved writing a music-based story like Étude and I needed more of it. (Songwriters!AU is still a thing, someday, somehow) Linger by the Cranberries has been my favourite song since I was a child and it fit with the theme. Something or someone whom you can't let go off, they have you eating from the palm of their hand and you know that, but you're so in love. And you don't want to get hurt. And was it just a game to you?

Love stories gone wrong: The Last Five Years, 36 Questions, Hadestown and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. I'm just mentioning them because I could go on and about them all day okay.

Classic romcom tropes and Latin American soap operas: the formula Laurent talks about so much (Boy Meets Girl, Boy Loses Girl, Boy Gets Girl Back), the manic pixie dream girl trope, miscommunication, jealousy, moving away then coming back, childhood friends to lovers then enemies then friends then lovers again then--

Budapest: I've said this before somewhere but my Marlas is based off Budapest, Hungary, where I lived for two years. The bastion in Buda was my favourite point in the city, and I love walking alongside the tram tracks near the riverside. I also hated it just like Laurent hates Marlas, but that's another story.

My life, but a less traumatic version: some aspects of Linger might feel very personal, and that's because there are things, characters and phrases and paragraphs that draw from my own journey with abuse, mental health and relationships.

And honestly? So many other things. One of my friends made a twitter account just to post things about Linger because I'm always brainstorming my ideas to her and sending quotes from films and books and lyrics that suddenly make me understand something about Laurent and Damen that I didn't before. It is, all in all, an experiment like Étude was. My own take on a difficult relationship, love story gone wrong. They love each oher so much it becomes sick, it becomes hatred.

How do they grow? Do they let each other go?
