WIND Runner: Mounts
Mounts are a huge part of getting a high score in this game. Not because of the special abilities that each one grants, but purely because of the 25% score increase that each will provide at max level. In addition to the flat score (and gold) boost, all mounts will increase the 'collection size' of your character.
By increasing this 'collection size' it will allow you to gather stars that you would typically have to jump to collect if you were on foot. This is most noticeable during Fever Mode but you'll find many applications for this passive bonus during normal running mode.
It should be clarified that while the 'collection size' of your character is increased, the 'damage size' is NOT increased. This results in fireballs occasionally passing through the visual display of your character but not actually hitting you.
We'll cover each of the mounts individually in later posts.

WIND Runner: Leo!
Tumblr media
He costs 30,000 gold to unlock. He's the only male in the game. He's Leo, and if you can maximize his special ability than the uncharted explorer will take your score to uncharted highs.
If you have enough gold to unlock Leo than you're probably aware of the Star Bonus. If you collect every star in a sequence you'll be awarded an automatic bonus. Leo quadruples that bonus. This isn't too amazing early on when the star bonus is worth 4 or 6 points, but once you're pulling in star bonuses worth 30 or 40 or 50 points... you see where this is going.
As mentioned in Stella's entry, if you don't hit your star bonuses than you're not going to do so well with Leo. But even if you do hit your star bonuses, Stella will be racking up more points with her ability. There's a certain threshold you must meet before constant star bonuses overtakes constant monster kills. This threshold is around 1,500-1,750 meters.
If you unlock Leo and find out he's not really your style, you should still get him to level 25. Running Leo and Stella together in the Relay will ALWAYS be better than running one or the other with Chloe.

WIND Runner: Stella!
Tumblr media
Stella will probably be the second runner you get as she's the cheapest; costing not a coin more than 15,000 gold. This may seem a high price, but it's well worth it. The plunky little monster hunter with the celestial fashion sense will carry you to higher scores, assuming you're making the most out of your Flight and Invincibility times.
Personally I would suggest leveling her up to 15 or 20 before you start pooling gold for Leo. However, depending on how you run, it might be in your best interest to level her all the way to 25.
Because Leo costs more you would assume he is better, and he is, but in order for him to be better you need to be nailing your star combos. If you're not collecting all the stars in a sequence then you might as well be running Chloe.
Be sure to level her to 25 even after you get Leo, having both Leo and Stella at 25 will ensure you get the most out of your Relay boosters.

WIND Runner: Chloe!
Tumblr media
It's Chloe! She's the only runner unlocked by default and despite being a treasure hunter she doesn't offer any bonuses like the other two runners do. But this spunky chick with the scarf will be your go-to runner for a while as the cheapest runner costs 15,000 gold!
I would suggest leveling her up to around 10, no higher than 15, and then start pooling your gold to unlock Stella.
Chloe is personally my favorite runner based on aesthetics and animations alone, but as far as running for a score she just can't compete.

WIND Runner: Boosters
Tumblr media
Here we have the boosters and the price for each of them. You an also earn boosters via the Daily Quest and by your weekly ranking. The description on all of them is pretty accurate but there are a few details that should be stated. Start Dash and Last Spurt both count as Flight, as in you will kill any monster on your screen and collect any star on the screen (with Last Spurt you’ll die before you collect all the stars, so you won’t get all of them) Shield does not prevent you from falling. If you die via a fall than the booster is wasted. Try to make your shield last as long as possible, but if you’re caught between a monster and a fall; take on the monster. The cost of each booster is typically indicative of how useful it is. Personally though I would value Shield above Relay only because Shield allows me to continue running as the runner I have selected, this is just a personal opinion though. However, using Shield and Relay in a single run is the best of both worlds. I like all the boosters except for Start Dash as it provides me with no real gain. Note that if you do not have a second runner unlocked you will not use Relay boosts purchased or earned until you unlock a second runner.

WIND Runner: Stats
Tumblr media
Here we have the various stats that increase how effective your magical abilities are. You don’t get to pick which stats to upgrade, but don’t worry, by the time you get your runner (or mount!) to level 25 you’ll have capped all the stats, as pictured above. These stats can be further increased (though not displayed in the UI) via pets, but more on them later. Please note that Wing Star as a stat doesn’t increase the score of Wing Stars, it increases the chance of a Wing Star appearing after a monster kill.
