Does the New Testament prove the deity of Christ?
Question: Does the New Testament prove the deity of Christ?
Answer: Yes, indeed!
Titus 2:13:
τῆς δόξης τοῦ μεγάλου θεοῦ καὶ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν ⸂Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ.
Translation:
“the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”
2 Peter 1:1:
τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν καὶ σωτῆρος Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ·
“of our God and savior Jesus Christ.”
What about Colossians 1:15:
“our God and Savior Jesus Christ”
John 1:1 says that “the Word was God,” and in verse 1:3 he says that this Word or Logos is the creator of the universe. Then, in verse 14, John adds that the logos became a human being. All bible scholars know that John depicts Jesus as the pre-incarnate God who took on human flesh.
Similarly, Hebrews 1:2-3 says EXPLICITLY that Jesus is the creator of the universe, “sustaining all things through the power of His word.” There is only 1 God. If that God sustains all things, then obviously there’s no other God.
What about Colossians 1:16:
"For by Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible.”
The phrase ἐν αὐτῷ means both *in him* and *by him* in Greek. And all these verses obviously mean that Jesus is God because no one other than God can create and sustain the universe by himself.
Ok. But what about Philippians 2:6? Philippians 2:6 says that even though Jesus is God, he nevertheless became man and temporarily gave up his status in order to save mankind. The phrase μορφῇ θεοῦ means he had the form or nature of God:
Philippians 2:6:
“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage.”
Thus in his great humility, God became a nobody; a man of no reputation for our sake.
What about John 1:3 and Hebrews 1:2? Well, God creates by himself. He doesn’t use secondary sources or intermediaries, otherwise they would be God and the creator. Besides, Hebrews 1:2-3 says EXPLICITLY that Jesus is the creator of the universe, “sustaining all things through the power of His word.” If Jesus creates and sustains the universe, then how is he not God? Moreover, John 1:3 says πάντα δι’ αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο, namely, that all things came into being BY HIM (δι’ αὐτοῦ). And nothing came into being without Christ. And then John goes on to say that Jesus is “Life” itself, which is another way of saying the supreme being or the “ultimate Being” or God. And Hebrews 1:2-3 says EXPLICITLY that Jesus is the creator of the universe, “sustaining all things through the power of His word.” There is only 1 God. If that God sustains all things, then obviously there’s no other God.
What about Colossians 2:9:
ἐν αὐτῷ κατοικεῖ πᾶν τὸ πλήρωμα τῆς θεότητος σωματικῶς.
Translation:
Col. 2:9:
“in him the whole fullness of the godhead dwells bodily.”
This means that even in a human body, Jesus is fully God!
Conclusion
There are simply too many passages which corroborate that Jesus is Yahweh. That’s why the New Testament translated YHWH as “Lord” and attributed it to Jesus Christ. The phrases “alpha and omega” and “first and last” that Jesus attributes to himself are Old Testament phrases that refer to Yahweh. Daniel 7:13-14 also talks about Jesus as if he were Yahweh. And Jude 1:5 says in the original Greek New Testament that it was Jesus (YHWH) who led Israel out of Egypt (Ἰησοῦς λαὸν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου σώσας; cf. 1 Corinthians 10:1-4). That’s why Revelation 1:8 calls Jesus the almighty (παντοκράτωρ) who is coming to earth. Hence why Jesus says “I and the father are one” (John 10:30).
So, when we add up the accumulated New Testament proof texts, the evidence is overwhelming that Jesus is in fact God (cf. John 14:1)!
There is also corroborating evidence about the deity of the messiah in the Old Testament as well (see Leviticus 26:12; Zechariah 2:10; 12:10; Micah 5:2; Daniel 7:13-14; Isaiah 9:6; 53:3-5; Psalm 2:12; 110:1)! But that’s another topic for another day!

Friendly reminder you can be Pagan/Christian and be trans
It’s feels hard to be a witch when many associate witchcraft with women hood
You’re not less of a witch for being a man
Your gods love you, you’re not a traitor or a bad person for being a man
You don’t have to fit into the aesthetic of dark femme if you work with or worship Lilith, the morrogon , hel, Hecate or anyone
Athena won’t view you as stupid and Aphrodite won’t view you as ugly
Artemis still loves you you’re not disappointing her
I love manly witches!
if you work with god in a pagan or Christian way is great! Your not a traitor for believing in god or Jesus
God made lots of cool things so why wouldn’t you be a man?
Mary still loves you
Your transition, whatever that may be isn’t a disservice to Gods creation (he’s not mad)
You don’t have to be a Christian in spite of being trans you don’t have to be trans in spite of being Christian Jesus was both man and god and Mary was both virgin and mother
If other queer people treat you badly for believing in god that’s for them to deal with not you
Being a man isn’t a bad thing
God already knows you’re trans so why hide from him?

Feelings I get when different deities/divine beings are present:
Jesus: a very calming but strong energy. I feel so safe and loved but there’s also an obvious sense of authority. I tend to get chills and sometimes tear up when I do readings with him
Archangel Michael: VERY strong “don’t fuck with me” energy but also very protective energy. I know I’m safe and protected but also need to be serious and get to work.
Mother Mary: Very strong maternal energy (ofc cause she’s Mother Mary). Very sweet and loving. Her presence always feels like a warm hug. Like a “I’m right here, hon. What do you need?” But it’s again a very strong protective energy like she is ready to fuck up any bad vibes that even try to come near me lol.
Mary Magdalene: Strong feminine and loving energy. It always feels like she’s excited to talk to me and it always makes me so happy. She’s so happy to talk and catch up but then it’s time to get to work. She’s so sweet but does not play when it comes to connecting to my inner divine feminine and doing shadow work.
Brigid: I haven’t worked with her long but I have noticed how VERY strong her energy is. You definitely know when she’s there. I often get chills and sometimes a stomach ache (not like a bad one. Kind of like the same one you get when you’re nervous and excited at the same time)

Hermanubis or Abraxas or ? (a Roman limestone relief) [3rd century AD] by Peter Via Flickr: Hermanubis or Abraxas or ? (a Roman limestone relief) [3rd century AD] - Christie's A wolf- (or dog-)headed deity on this Roman limestone relief from the 3rd century AD, depicting some form of offering scene. A syncretic, hybridised deity, taking up characteristics from different deities: a wolf head, crowned with sheaves of wheat, and holding a key, the snake-like legs perhaps more an indicator of the cosmic warrior god Abraxas (but Abraxas is usually represented with the head of a lion or cock, together with sword and shield) the rest of the god is human, clothed in animal skin; in his right hand, he holds a key, and in his left hand, a caduceus and sheaves of wheat (the caduceus is an attribute of Mercury, together with the ram depicted on the left), and also some 'poppies' (healing quality? pain reliever ! hypnotic !). A bearded man kneeling at the right, presenting a loaf of bread on an offering table, its support with a lion head and a feline paw. Finally we do not know what kind of deity we are dealing with here: wheat, key, caduceus, poppies,... - does seem to be rather benign: fertility and prosperity? and the offering is also rather harmless: a load of bread. And it seem to be unkown where the stele was found). Text modified after Ralph Haussler: Wolf & Mythology ralphhaussler.weebly.com/wolf-mythology-italy-greek-celti... After Death - Revisiting Christianity
After my little cousin died a month ago, I've been in mourning since then. I've questioned my own beliefs and faith in God and Gods. I've avoided interacting with my deities due to this constant disbelief. However, in the last two weeks, I've gotten back to lighting Ares and Athena's candle and giving them offerings.
On the other hand, I've been inspired to research more into Christianity specifically Orthodox. I'm pretty familiar with Protestantism and Catholicism but not so much on Orthodoxy.
As I plan on going down to my cousin's funeral, I plan on visiting an Orthodox Church and evaluating how being there makes me feel and if I feel closer to Jesus. Furthering my love for Jesus, I've gotten back to reading the Bible. I do plan on looking into Catholicism but my main priority is Orthodoxy.
Satan and I are still doing great. He's been so understanding with me and my mourning process. Ironically, Jesus and Satan do decently well with each other despite their differences, but their priority is my well-being, so they cowork with each other.
Overall, I am glad I am back to doing my worship, and I do plan on some rituals for my cousin's funeral. I will update soon.

see. I do a lot of dream work w the deities I work with and a common theme, 9 times out of 10, no matter the deity, I am always about 7 years old in them. And I sit here, thinking, *why* is that age the age that comes up every time and then I realize, that is the age where I had to go across town in the middle of the night by myself to the gas station to call my mentor to help my mom
that is the age the beginning of stability began. that was the age my mom got clean. that was the age that was extremely pivotal for my childhood that prevented me from falling down the same path my mom did
it was an extremely devout Catholic woman who came to help me in the middle of the night and I don't think it's a coincidence that Jesus happens to be a spirit guide of mine
and I can't help but wonder if, perhaps, that was a moment that the gods in my life stepped in and intervened and saved my life
and tbh while I sit here thinking about it, writing it all out and putting the pieces together, I can feel Jesus beside me and smiling a bit, a small lil crooked grin like "Yes." and tbh it really does make me feel less alone

"St. Michael Slays the Dragon" by Isis Sangare
Happy Sunday!
(Sun)day is usually the day of rest and different pantheons have associations for which deity oversees it. For angels, this day belongs to Michael, who encourages you to use this day to:
Get in touch with your life force/'sun energy' to create (the Sun rules over Leo)
Practice your confidence and speaking from your truth
Be an example among your friends, family, or community by standing in your light
To work through issues of self-expression
Need help getting started?
Among all the archangels, Michael is the easiest to approach - you need only ask, however silly you feel, and he will be quite direct in how he can help you. Feel free to use the modified veneration of St. Michael from Pope Gregory if you don't know where to start.
THE VENERATION
O Lord! Please send to me proof of your miraculous power through Archangel Michael, so that I will understand from the very act and name, He Who Is Like God, can do what you prevail,
Amen!

the thing about engaging in the occult arts is that you literally can't think about it too hard or it'll start curdling your bone marrow. like that time I was visiting my ex's hometown and family and found a fortune cookie fortune on the floor in the local town museum that said keiner ist so taub wie der, der nicht hören will, promptly decided to ignore it, and a few months later when I received the notice I was being thrown out within days and was frightened badly enough that I didn't want to spend a day more in that apartment anyway, I found a copy of that exact fortune fluttering out of the sky on my route out. and then miraculously had a couch to crash on within the hour.
not even in the top ten count of weird spooky shit. you just don't think about it. if you think too hard about it you get bone nausea and your eardrums start to itch.
#heartfelt thanks as always to my patron deity for routing me out#like thank you O Dark Master#but also jesus christ. what the fuck#I think about this kind of stuff sometimes and then don't know what to do with it at all#I mostly just try to forget about it as soon as I can after recalling#because of the aforementioned bone nausea#muss ich denn sterben um zu leben
