The original goal was to try a pure black and white contrast piece.#Which I very much failed at doing. Not quite ready for that! However what this turned into is something I like a lot!#Different but in a way that really pushed me as an artist. A little less simple; a little more proportional.#I was also recently thinking about LWJ's grieving that we only catch glimpses of.#LWJ grieved his first love for 13 years. His love that was never reciprocated.#He chose to dedicate his heart to that mourning and most painfully of all - he did so knowing there was no end to that grief.#Wei Wuxian comes back to life in MDZS but that is an exception. Not the expectation.#He was dead. Not missing. Not 'maybe in hiding'. He was dead and his spirit unreachable.#Jiang Cheng went forwards with denial but LWJ takes that grief on. He copes by continuing to carry the weight with him.#Let me be clear. Neither are healthy approaches. It is a way to cope but it does not mean that is healing or healthy.#Grief is loved transformed but it is also about endurance and letting go. Grief can change you. You can also change your grief.#It isn't a good or evil thing to experience. It is just an experience.

this 👆🏻 has been driving me so crazy. i know maria says this all the time, but it's about the "we aren't beatrice" for me. if i'm supposed to believe her words, then i just!! seem to have come to a bit of a standstill!! if there's no more than these 17 people on the island, maria directly acknowledges none of the ones around her are beatrice, while insisting beatrice gave her the letter, then well!! unless she's been brainwashed in some sort of way, well!! "everyone was trying to make her believe" would maybe lead me to assume certain things but since "we aren't beatrice"!! i'm reaching my limit here!!

Gently held a dead bird in my hands because it was in the pavement and I wanted to place it on the tall grass (which I did, careful to place it facing up).

I thought that the grass was a more comforting place to rot and rest.

Anon this sucks I thought I got it out of my system I thought I was fine I didn't even watch the Robert Pattinson batman cus I was scared. Batman brings out like a very specific beast in me where I fuck with a very specific set of themes and don't give a shit about most things DC fans care about (don't talk to me about the Nolan movies I have bad wrong opinions about the Nolan movies)

ok I know I'm already in the process of writing an extremely long video game retelling/au where the protag is a nonhuman who gets suddenly and unwillingly put in a situation where they have to pass as A Normal Guy by the threat of harm/death while also being put into a role where they're the Only One capable of saving the world. but what if I started a DIFFERENT one too

#howling #specifically I've been tossing around this bg3 scenario #where the dark urge and some random druid (specifically a circle of spores druid) are on the nautaloid when it gets attacked #the druid dies badly and the symbiotic entity they're carrying gets kicked out of their host #and so it attaches itself to the nearest living thing as like a self-preservation measure #which happens to be a VERY lobotomized dark urge #as in 'practically brain dead'#and so the entity is now stuck in a new body they have to figure out how to pilot COMPLETELY ALONE #other than the extremely unhelpful passenger already in this fucker's brain (the tadpole)#and still has the dark urge instincts and. well. urges. but they have even LESS access to memories than normal durge has #so it now has to both convince their friends AND their enemies that yes they definitely are a humanoid guy with a past #and not a cloud of sentient fungus puppeting a sort-of corpse #idk I just really love the idea of everyone being like 'wow it's so fucked up that we have parasites in our brains threatening to take over #and this guy is just like. oh hahah yeah (<- is a parasite who took over a guys brain)#anyways. id still be writing history offers preservation but id just ALSO be doing this too #like. idk maybe it'll help my writers block if I can mix shit up a bit #use scrapped ideas for one that might work better for the other y'know #this also isn't like. a guaranteed thing btw. I hope that temporarily abled people in my generation are not going to be Like That wrt being too proud to acknowledge our physical limitations when we're all disabled because we were lucky enough to live long enough to get arthritis and macular degeneration and trouble balancing like my grandparents' generation are(/were, I guess, as I am down to the one living grandparent).

Like, can all of us who do not currently need to use mobility aids promise each other right now that we won't refuse to use them and endanger ourselves if and when we do need to use them? Being disabled is not shameful and internalised ableism is not anything to be proud of. And I promise you it is worse to fall and break your hip and then die six months later than it is to use a stick and have a shower seat.
