Unlucky Pretty Birds

It's fairly common here in Chicago and probably a bunch of other big cities, birds love to strike the tall building windows. Due to this, the Field Museum has a team of people who go out each morning to collect bird strike victims. You can also donate birds as well, just have to bring them in with the location of the strike. Unfortunately for both of these guys, I didn't have any container or bag to keep them in. Also, my roommates would probably not appreciate a dead bird in the fridge.

Since America has such strict bird laws I am cautious to take any of these guys to keep, especially since I don't know my bird breeds off the top of my head. Might need to start carrying around a field journal.

Can anyone id these two?

Tokoyami likes the rain. It’s dark and cold and soulful. His mother encourages him to go on walks and so does Hound Dog. They both say it’ll really help him get out of his head. So he does. He admires the way the street lamps reflect in the puddles.

This walk, he explored a bit through a local park and climbed a tree, scraping his knees. He has plenty of wet leaves, rocks, and forage-able mushrooms in his bag that his mother will scold him for bringing home later. Though she’s mostly irritated that he comes home with his rain coat off, holding in it a dead bird.

Rain is good for the mind and that bird gets a proper burial nearby with help from Mamayami. Tokoyami also takes a mandatory warm bath when he gets home, and Dark Shadow helps bandage his knees.

Rain is soulful and so is Tokoyami.

Gently held a dead bird in my hands because it was in the pavement and I wanted to place it on the tall grass (which I did, careful to place it facing up).

I thought that the grass was a more comforting place to rot and rest.

Found a dead bird on the sidewalk— interestingly, its body is fully intact and feathered, but its head is completely stripped down to the bone!

No clue what went down here.

GUYS THIS WAS THE BWST REN FAIRE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

I saw so many cool people, I saw furrys, therians and just like so many cool costumes and even cosplays like holy shit it was amazing and I met this person and she was telling me and my family where to go to find animal tails (my sister wanted them) and as she told us where to find that she also mentioned a place where they sell bones and like the creature I am I started jumping and I was like "OH MY GOSH BONES? BONES I LOVE BONES!" And she's was like "you like bones!? Do you prefer snakes or sharks" and I was like "snakes?" AND THEN SHE HANDED ME THREE SNAKE RIBS AND SHE WAS LIKE "keep the" AND SHE HWD THE NICEST SMILE EVER AND SHE WAS GREAT!! So that's like so so cool
