dear 5sos,
self-titled #1 is turning 10 years old. close as strangers was a track on that album so it is also turning 10 years old. y’all’re planning to go on tour this year. thus, as the maths math, close as strangers should get a live performance on tour. please and thank you and I will not be sad if we have to sacrifice heartbreak girl to get this performance.
chicken grease peace *censored per tumblr policy but iykyk*,

p.s. if luke wants to bring back the purple pants from milan 2018, I would not be opposed.

Hot fucking take I guess, but comic sans is a good font, actually. It's easy to read and completely legible. It's also dyslexia friendly. You know what font is bullshit, though? Cursive. It's hard to read, takes longer to learn, and is only taught bc "tradition". How bout fuck you. Comic sans is good and cursive sucks.

My promised GF Au comic typography rambling 📝✍️
Mabel's Font
Her font is purposely very close to comic sans. The font is also bold with low lettering space to portray her childlike manner of speaking. She's also the main character in my AU so she gets a simple readable style.
Tumblr media
Dipper's Font
His is similar to Mabel's by being bold and with less spacing. But with a serif style of font. Not only is it similar to Mabel's but it's very similar to Fiddlefords. This may seem like a more random connection, why not have his mirror Ford’s font. Because Dipper could've ended up like Fiddleford if he did take Ford's apprenticeship and I find that parallel super compelling.
Tumblr media
Fiddleford's Font
Now I already explained the Dipper connection but the reason I gave him a typewriter style is because Fidds loves computers and tech. His is in contrast to Ford's cursive, Ford being more traditionalist with his journals and handwritten notes. Fidd’s because of his inventions and laptop.
Tumblr media
Ford's Font
Now Ford's is a mirror to Stan's, a way to connect the two even through their differences. Both are a very handwritten style, Ford's cursive and Stans is normal script. Ford's is directly based on the font in the official journal 3. Plus we all know this dork speaks in cursive!
Tumblr media
Stan's Font
Stans is very simple, his obviously mirror Ford's but is also connected to Mabel's. Both have a lighthearted feel and are very easily ready, portraying both are great communicators.
Tumblr media
Bill's Font/effect
Bills is round and far more odd in comparison to all the others. He also has a rainbow/glitch effect on his text, it also affects Ford's text when possessed! His font is really just to show how supernatural and inhuman he is and to visualize his voice glitch from the show.
(Also bonus fact only Bill and the Time Tape have any color in the comic, it's to make it visually obvious when magic/science stuff is happening lol)(did I overthink this little comic? haha)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you for coming to my unhinged typography TedTalk!

How would the bots and cons handwriting be like? (Sorry for my bad English lol)
Ahhh! I love this idea! Had WAY too much fun with this.
Bots and Cons Handwriting
Optimus:
-Can write insanely neatly, and in literally ANY font
-Everything he writes looks like it came straight from Google Docs
-He can perfectly recreate Comic Sans, much to the children's amusement
-Handwriting KING
-He's too powerful
Arcee:
-Her handwriting is gorgeous
-She writes very neatly, definitely in cursive
-Everything she writes looks like a diary from the Victorian era
-Majestic✨✨✨✨
Ratchet:
-Cursive, but MESSY cursive
-Like, REALLY messy cursive. What is he even writing? Who knows? It's a mystery.
-You know, cuz, like, that's how a pharmacist's prescriptions look, and he's a medic. Lol
-Ratchet has messy pharmacist handwriting
Bumblebee:
-His handwriting is so cute
-Basically Comic Sans
-Not PERFECT Comic Sans like Optimus, but just bubbly and adorable
-Having legible handwriting is something he practices a lot, since his voice box is broken. Writing is a nice way to express himself if need be.
-He has kindergarten teacher handwriting
-My dyslexia would be so happy
Smokescreen:
-Neat enough handwriting, but HE WRITES SO BIG
-All caps, all the time
-He goes through too many notebooks, because he saves NO space
-Poor guy. He just has a big personality
Bulkhead:
-Unreadable
-His hands are just way too big
-Very messy. Only Wheeljack can read it because he and Bulkhead share the same braincells
-Bulkhead and Ratchet get in arguments, because Ratchet's reads Bulk's handwriting, and is like: "Bulkhead, your attempts at penmanship are downright INCOMPREHENSIBLE."
And Bulkhead's like: "You say that like any of us can read yours!"
And Arcee's like: "I second that."
And Bumblebee buzzes in agreement.
Ratchet just rolls his eyes, like "ugh." Because he can't argue. HIS handwriting is gibberish, too.
Ultra Magnus:
-Opposite of Smokescreen...Ultra Magnus's handwriting is TINY!
-Seriously, where is it? You need a microscope.
-Only the humans can read it, because it's so small. And even THEY have to squint
-It's also PERFECT. His handwriting is very neat
and blocky, like a typewriter
-If only we could actually see it
Wheeljack:
-He's like, a graphic design CHAMPION
-He learned handwriting from Miko, so he loves big bubble letters. He decorates them with cool patterns, like flames, and lightning bolts
-Very stylish
Megatron:
-What I can only describe as "spooky cursive"
-Very formal, and kinda gothic
-He'd use some kind of calligraphy pen with very dark, splattery ink, or, like, whatever the Cybertronian version of a quill is.
-He's an elegant guy...well, sort of, except most of what he writes consists of:
"My dearest Starscream,
It is with great regret (note my sarcasm, Starscream.) It is with great PLEASURE that I must inform you...
I have caught you invading my stash of dark energon, once again.
I will be grinding you into scrap metal momentarily.
Yours truly,
Lord Megatron."
Starscream:
-Starscream has the ABILITY to write neatly, and in cursive
-But he writes very scribbly, because he's angry
-If "ranting" was a font, it's the font he writes in
-Also, he probably keeps a rage journal, where he trash talks everyone he knows
-Somebody help him🥲
Soundwave:
-Handwriting? What's that?
-He probably uses his internal computer to make documents, and prints them
-And when he prints things, they probably slide out of his neck. Terrifying. So he prints things to freak Starscream out
-It's beautiful
-If Soundwave was FORCED to handwrite, he'd do it in computer code, or morse code, or something weird like that. Everyone would be baffled trying to understand it.
Airachnid:
-Very splattery
-But that's what happens when you use energon and human blood as ink.
Shockwave:
-Writes in calculator font
-Like, the font a calculator has
-He says it's "the most logical font"
-Starscream constantly judges him for it
Breakdown:
-Definitely not neat, but not Bulkhead levels of messy, either
-He doesn't have the best handwriting, but he can make some pretty good doodles
-If, for some reason, Megatron assigned Breakdown and Knockout a task involving handwriting, Breakdown and Knockout would both doodle instead of being productive
Knockout:
-Ooo! So majestic!
-It's very bold
-His handwriting is suave and announcer-y, just like him
-It'd also be curved slightly to the right, like italics
-Almost like something you'd see in a commercial, or a movie trailer, or a billboard
-Like a NASCAR advertisement (y'know, because race car)

i've seen that in certain tlt comics you assign certain fonts to certain characters. do you have a list of each one? the only ones i could really guess at would be courier new for palamedes and arial for pyrrha, but i could be totally wrong. if you have any thoughts on why certain fonts were chosen i'd love to see that too!
(im assuming youre referencing this comic) i dont have a list of fonts to use for characters, sorry to disappoint </3 i used different fonts for this comic specifically to distinguish camilla and palamedes. for ooctlt i use bahnschrift semilight semicondensed because i like the way it looks in both sentence case and all caps.
just to entertain you though i used to like casual calligraphy, so heres the handwritings i would try to mimic with fonts (with transcript):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
transcript:
I think necromancers have messy handwritings so Palamedes would have a doctor's scrawl that gets worse the more he is panicked/rushing.
Font: Times New Roman. I don’t want to pick fonts that match the illegibility of their handwriting, but instead something that is readable and gets the spirit across. If he would type he would choose something meant for academia. Note that this isn’t consistent with the comic I drew – it’s because I don’t think this far ahead.
Harrow's is even worse. She writes cramped and sometimes blende in cursive with her lettering for ease of writing. Sometimes she will overlay her words on top of each other
Font: Daytona condensed. Clean, but tall and squished.
Gideon’s handwriting only looks neat but she writes very loosely and doesn't join her h,n,m,ps. SOMETIMES SHE WRITES IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE IT'S EASIER.
Font: Corbel. Strange spacing but not too bad to look at.
Camilla's handwriting is clean and crisp, although she might switch how she writes her 'a's and forgets to dot her 'i's. Hold on im not good at clean handwriting okay she would write like this. [scribbled out signature] yeah i cant do this one she's too good for me
Font: Microsoft Sans Serif. The classic.

If you had to assign a font to every curt mega character, name a few characters and their respective font
what a question
ACM gets comic sans. It feels right to me.
Tadius gets an old timey font. I’m pretty sure the one I have in mind is called black letter
Herschel gets a pretentious looking cursive font. I think herr von muellerhoff might work.
Tinky picks a font that’s trying too hard to be edgy, and that only he can read. I found this and I think he’d fuck with it:
Tumblr media
Duke Keane would use the default font I think. Idk he seems like that kind of guy.
Officer Bailey’s font is just illegible handwriting

YESSS ofc pooks🥰
ponyboy:
guy has font handwriting
like he could write a hundred of one letter and theyre all identical
doesnt mean its perfect though
unironically gives comic sans😭
very legible
but not crazy neat
kinda switches between cursive and print way too often
8/10
johnny:
small letters, close together but he really digs into the paper when he writes
like he CARVES stuff in there LMAO
honestly writes pretty slowly and carefully
kinda messy ngl
6/10 when he’s stressed his writing gets WAY worse
sodapop:
actually really good
like you assume it’s ass but it’s surprisingly legible and neat
no one really knows where it came from, cause we sure as hell know he ain’t going to school😭🤓☝️
secretly takes a lot of pride in it
signature eats fs
10/10
darry:
all capital letters😭😭
my dad writes like this so that’s the inspiration
letters really spaced out too
so it’s like neat but also somehow really confusing to read💀💀
also his sentences in general are really practical and simple so it def takes a second to just understand what my guy is talking about LMAOO
5/10 try SOME curves in your letters pls
dally:
now i wouldn’t say serial killer but-
/j
ok so its bad, we all know this, but you just gotta get used to it
all his letters and words blend together but he also skips every other line so it’s just so confusing to look at
why are you double spacing my boy😭
pretty curly letters just cause it’s faster to write like that for him
if you just glance at his paper it looks like ancient runes or smth but once you look at it longer, you make stuff out
4/10 what in the modern art💀
two-bit:
messy and couldn’t give a fuck
he the type to get a homework assignment and just scribble random lines and swooshes just so the teacher thinks he wrote a lot and just give him an A cause i mean, it’s keith
meanwhile in math his problems are all spaced out perfectly like DAMN OK SHOW YOUR WORK TWO BIT
2/10 please get this guy some help🥰
steve:
actually ass oml
like his handwriting hasn’t evolved since first grade
he writes at font pt. 36 too like just HUGE
tone it down my guy please😭
he the type to go thru all the trouble to pass you a note in class and then you look at it and you’re just like “what the fuck is this🧍‍♀️”
1/10 rip to his nonexistent teachers
ANYWAYS TYSM FOR REQUESTINGGG

Keyboard Smash
Steven Wingdings x afab!reader
1k words
∘₊✧ Summary: fonts drive him crazy in more ways than one.
∘₊✧ Author’s notes: this is the drabble I was toying with writing… don’t @ me! This was entirely encouraged by the usual suspects, and I simply couldn’t resist
∘₊✧ Warnings/content: nsfw, rough sex, dubious consent, slightly creepy vibes including a storm, very silly, probably classed as a crack fic if it wasn’t also pure smut, crying, meltdowns, font kink
Tumblr media
∘₊✧─────────────────────✧₊∘
Your fingertips tapped the keyboard, the little squares clicking the letters into being on the screen before you.
You knew he would disapprove of this font, but it was easy on the eyes and you always managed to write more when you used it.
You could always change it afterwards. He would never need to know. What’s the harm?
You leaned back in your chair, stretching your arms and sighing, tired but so close to finishing up.
You relaxed into your seat, amused by the eerie atmosphere in the room. The bright white light of your computer screen provided the only illumination in the room, aside from the occasional forks of lightning lighting up the night sky through your window. You smiled. He’d probably like that.
And with a loud clap of thunder and another dramatic flash of lightning, he appeared behind you, his shadow flooding your desk with darkness. It was as if he materialised out of nowhere. You jolted up, spinning around in your chair to see him standing behind you, furious and dripping with rainwater.
He didn’t say a word at first, his piercing blue eyes fixed on your screen, carefully taking in the words you’d written. And the font. Oh fuck. The font.
‘Comic sans,’ he muttered under his breath, taking his glasses off to wipe them clean of raindrops and place them delicately back on his face. ‘Comic fucking sans?’
‘I intend to change it when I’m done, but-’
‘Spare me!’ he roared, falling to his knees before you. ‘You’re writing a masterpiece like that in comic sans?! It’s tainted. I’ll never unsee it. You actively clicked on the font drop down, scrolled to C, and selected it, knowing how it would look!’
He was practically sobbing at this point.
‘I- I’m sorry, Steven, at least it’s not Pap-’
‘Don’t speak its name in front of me!’ he screeched.
‘Why don’t we just change the font right now, hm? What do you like? Times New Roman? Calibri?’
‘You can change it, but I’ll never unsee that hideous clown scribble!’ he wailed.
‘Is there anything I can do?’ you offered, beginning to feel at a loss, until a stroke of genius struck. Or so you hoped. ‘Here, how about-’
You turned back to the computer, highlighting the entirety of your work and choosing a new font. Something that would throw him off. Bring him back to you.
There was one you’d never used that caught your eye with its name alone; Satisfy. It seemed like it would be awkward to write in and more appropriate for titles, but it’s cursive style and sensual name immediately got your attention — perhaps it would get his too.
You read over some of your work while you waited for him to finish up his dramatics. It looked a little bit like his handwriting and you smiled at that, wondering if he’d actually copied it for his own penmanship.
Another flash of lightning and he was up again, his hand at your shoulder, warm and caressing.
‘Oh?’ he breathed.
You didn’t speak. Not yet. You let him take it in, biting your lips together in anticipation as he looked over you.
‘Oh, that’s very nice, that’s- mmh…’
‘See? That’s better,’ you smiled, pleased with yourself at having calmed him.
‘Over the desk,’ he instructed, low and commanding. ‘Now.’
You stood, heat flooding to your core at the suddenly seductive tone of his voice, and began to move the keyboard away for space, but a big, strong hand wrapped around your wrist and pinned it to the desk.
‘No. Leave the keyboard. I want to see our work.’
Excited, you propped yourself above it, while he made quick work of unfastening his trousers and sliding yours down, his elegant fingers immediately flying to your folds, circling your clit and ghosting over your slick entrance.
‘Mmh, soaked… you like it too?’
In all honesty you couldn’t say you had ever been aroused by a font. But then you’d never had a screaming, crying meltdown over one either. You guessed his reaction to Satisfy must have been as strong as his reaction to Papyrus had been all those weeks ago when you’d dragged him inside off the road, wet and shaking.
‘Yes,’ you agreed, not wanting him to stop.
Much to your disappointment, he did stop, but only for a moment; the next, he slammed his cock into you hard, stretching you open and driving his hips in sharp snaps against you whilst his free hand pushed your head into the keyboard.
An assortment of random letters and numbers burst onto the screen, displaying more of that delicious font, and he whined desperately.
His other hand snaked around your belly and to the apex of your thighs, rubbing furiously at your sensitive nub, making you squirm back against him. It was too much and not enough all at once, and you were ready to explode.
‘Say it,’ he cried hungrily, ‘say it!’
‘Satisfy!’ you moaned, not even needing to sex up your voice in the slightest. The font might not turn you on, but he did, and his request for you to say its name opened the floodgates into a string of needy moans.
Feeling you begin to clench around him, it took only a few more ragged thrusts and he emptied his release into you with force, a guttural growl echoing around the room while you milked him of all he had.
He collapsed, weak and groaning, on top of you, heavy breaths loud in your ear as he withdrew his length, carefully tucking himself back into his trousers and standing as soon as he was able.
‘Keep up the good work,’ he praised you.
And just like that, he was gone again, leaving you limp over the desk, leaking your combined juices onto the floor, Satisfy leaving a long trail of F’s and C’s and D’s in the space beneath your work where you were still pressed against the keyboard.
‘Comic fucking sans,’ you whispered, laughing to yourself as you peeled off the keys. ‘I’ll give him Satisfy.’

Hi!! I saw your blog and it's beautiful! I'd like to ask if you could share some tips about editing posts, specifically changing the font color and doing that cool effect where it has more than one color on the same font ☺ if you're not comfortable teaching that's okay too! Have a good night
Tumblr media
Hello Siren,
Thank you for the compliment. Yes, I can teach you. Just follow a tip from Auntie here: do it because you genuinely like the aesthetic. The time you spend writing the post is sometimes the same as editing it, and in my experience, this won't necessarily translate into more likes or reblogs. So, do it because you think it's beautiful.
As comical as it sounds, I won't be using HTML in this post because using the codes could cause problems. I've seen some tutorials, but I just really learned when I searched on my own.. I also do all my editings on my notebook. So, here's everything I use:
Tumblr media
Websites I use for editing:
HTML Code Editor: While you're creating your HTML, you can simultaneously see if it's working
BBcode & HTML Text Colorizer: This is where you'll create the gradient
Browserling: I use this site to make the gradient code compatible for Tumblr
Aesthetic Symbols: this is for that cute symbols
Piliapp: more copy/paste symbols
Fontes e Letras: copy/paste fonts
Canva: This is where I create some of my designs. I also use Photoshop
Deviantart: a lot of material for Photoshop like templates, PSDs and Renders (PNG image with a good resolution), you can see the ones I use the most in my sources
@animatedglittergraphics-n-more: dividers
@saradika: dividers
@engrampixel: cute material
Color Hunt: if you don't have a color pallete in mind, here you can find a lot of options
Adobe Color: if you want to create your own HTML color palette this site can help
DaFont: where I download my fonts, the ones I use the most are: Betterfly, Arcadepix, Starborn, Lemon Milk, Cursive Sans and BubbleGum
EmojiTerra: as I use tumblr on my notebook, this is where I get my emojis
Tumblr media
HTML Text Editing
Important:
Go use the HTML Code Editor in this part and your life will be way easier.
Some things I do right here in the tumblr editor, like putting the images and different fonts like Lucille.
All HTML code starts with < > and ends with , that is, when you start a paragraph you will write <p> and when you finish you will write </p> (HTML Code Editor ends your coding automatically)
I'm teaching all this because if you want to make gradients in your entire text and not just in the title, you'll need to know about html
To start your HTML you will need to go to the gear that appears on the right side when you are writing your post, go to the bottom until you find the Text Editor and switch to HTML.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Codes
<p> start a paragraph </p>
<br> to make a space between text less than a paragraph (good to use in indented text) you don't need to put </br>
<b> make the text bold </b>
<i> leave the text in italics</i>
<strike> leave the text crossed out </strike>
<small> make the text small like this </small>
<h1> make the text large like this </h1>
<h2> make the text large like this </h2>
<ul> Create unordered list (dotted) </ul>
<ol>Create lists with order (numeric) </ol>
*instead of making paragraphs you will create new items in the list using the code <li> </li>
<blockquote class="npf_indented"> make the text indented </blockquote>
<span style="color: #HTML"> Code to color your texts, pay attention that it uses (") instead of (') and doesn't use (;) </span>
Tutorial on creating invisible spaces, just like I use to do the navigation, if I put it here everything bugs. PT-BR
<a href="URL">Link Text</a>: Creates a hyperlink
Tumblr media
Making your Gradient
Go to BBCode and HTML already with your HTML text and colors in hand. Write or copy your text in the box, choose the gradient type (I use middle) and select your colors (from one to three different colors)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now copy the text in the "HTML code for this text: (To use on your website)" box and go to the Browseling, you will replace the (') to (") and the (;) for nothing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Copy and paste your new code direct in your tumblr post editor or in the HTML Code Editor. Success!!
I think that's all. Kisses from the Sea! 🐚

Sans talking in cursive is a pun to CSS
When applying any font using CSS, if the font isn't available on a device most people make it default to cursive.
I find this as a funny reference.
"font-family: "Comic Sans MS", "Comic Sans", cursive;"
