I was rambling on the issue of museums and human remains and how certain populations are more likely to have their bodies put on display to be gawked at and then went "well I guess the Pompeii casts were of Europeans. there are bones in there right?" and Googled it to make sure, at which point I confirmed that yes there are bones in there, but more interestingly DNA testing revealed that a cast of an adult holding a child everyone assumed was a mother and child were, in fact, a man and a kid entirely unrelated to him. Honestly that's more moving to me. Maybe they were connected in a way other than blood, but maybe a stranger saw a child when the world was ending and thought the one thing he could do was hold them.

Currently thinking about Zoro with an androgynous male partner, specifically about Sanji's reaction to Zoro's partner and how their first interaction would go. he/they pronouns used for zoro's partner

Thinking about Sanji mistaking Zoro’s partner for an attractive girl, he immediately begins attempting to lay on the charm. Because of his relationship with Zoro, Sanji begins asking things like, “how such a beautiful flower can deal with such a brute like Zoro?” and apologizing for the fact that they even had to meet Zoro in the first place. And because it's Zoro, he hasn’t even mentioned that the two of you are romantically involved yet. But when that information hits Sanji, he immediately proclaims he, Vinsmoke Sanji, "will save such a lovely girl from such a parasitic moss ball" which immediately snowballs into Sanji and Zoro fighting (both physically AND verbally, of course), and Zoro finally gets it through to Sanji that he has just spent the last couple of minutes flirting with a GUY who Zoro is DATING.

Bonus thought: even after the crew made sure that Sanji understood that Zoro and his partner were in a gay relationship, he treats him exceptionally well, never yelling at him like the other boys. I like to think Sanji will sometimes attempt to act over the top and dramatic while doing something for Zoro’s partner as a "gag” but the rest of the crew is just like ‘did he forget he’s not a girl?’ because it's just how he treats Nami and Robin.
