I did! It... didn't go well. But I'm stubborn! So my Sun is mine now! I won them through my sheer capability to annoy and my irresistible charm! It's quite the fatal duo, you know. I don't really think the others have... well, Licorice has. But I'm not entirely sure my Sun understands that as a confession! So I just leave them be to figure it out, it's very entertaining that way.

Nope! I'm actually pretty sure I was their first in all manners. It's a pretty nice feeling!

I have kids! I don't really see myself trying to have more, but we'll see what happens!

Nicky did. To his little flame devil. It didn't go well, he came ranting to me about it numerous times. But Ivlis learned to love him, I suppose (if you ask me, learned it was okay to love him). I was dragged in by my own jealousy. Didn't mean to fall for the lizard, and I certainly wish I didn't, but even a god stumbles. I've never... really confessed. To either of them. Nicky knows I love him. I attempt to show the other. I do it better some days than others, but I hope they understand.

🦌 Were they already in a relationship when you got with your FOs?

With Nicky, yes. You could also argue with Licorice, as well, but as stated prior... I don't like sharing.

Absolutely not. We've got enough. Besides, I've got enough nieces and nephews for an entire fucking kingdom of its own, thanks to the bitch that fucks like a rabbit.

SO I just got my stay-flats in for mailing prints which means I'm one step closer to getting my online shop open <3

But what I WASN'T expecting to also show up inside the box of mailers was my pre-order copy of Covenant!

Apologies in advance because my photos aren't the greatest, but I wanna share some pics of it because I'm really impressed with how these books look and feel.

For starters, the actual cover designs. The front cover features stunning art and has a nice gloss cover, whereas the backside actually has a softer matte feel with gloss golden text which compliments the overall aesthetic of the book very nicely.

As for inside the book...

I was so relieved to see how well the formatting was done. Those who follow me here know I spend a lot of time bitching about webtoons-related stuff and one of my biggest gripes is how the webtoon format overall is very unfriendly to long-term publishing, as many creators don't anticipate eventually formatting for print (and Webtoons certainly hasn't helped as for years they've perpetuated the notion that print books are "dead", at least until it came to them making money 🍵) It's not an easy task to convert a vertical webtoon into a page format comic, but I'm happy to say that Lysandra's team here knocked it out of the park. The panel and text flow is smooth and easy to follow, they always take full advantage of the page space given to them, and the overall structure of every page feels very well thought out to work for the story it's trying to tell (as this is an action comic with fight scenes which can be tricky enough to pull off in page format, let alone converting from vertical format!) They've also gone out of their way to properly format the episode divides, so episodes (or as they're called in the story's stylization, "books") flow seamlessly with very little breakage, unlike what you would find in some webtoon-to-print books that often find the flow interrupted by episode title breaks every few pages. According to the credits page in the front of the book, we owe a lot of the formatting to layout designer Miranda Mundt and book designer Carey Soucy! Well done!

The print quality of the pages is also superb, printed on high-quality glossy paper which makes for stunning colors that have translated well from web to print. The darks are very dark which is necessary for a comic like Covenant which has a very earthy color palette; but when there ARE color pop moments of pink, red, and blue, they really shine. Of course, there is a downside to this, which is that the glossy paper WILL show your thumbprints in the darker areas (especially if you have particularly oily hands like I do, ech) but hey, it adds character and it's worth seeing the comic's art come to life on the glossy paper.

Sooo yeah! This is a very competent and well-made book from an awesome creator and if I have ANYTHING to snipe about just for the sake of it, it's that it's no wonder Webtoons tried to keep the creator from promoting their book launch, because it frankly outdoes a lot of WT's own publishing efforts LOL Congrats on your book launch Lysandra, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on Volume 2! <3

I understand how suffocating the pressure of art can be. I had to reach the peak of my nerves to start being calmer and more rational about it. And even now, if I don't have a job at some point, I can panic. (Although in recent months, thanks to all my clients, my panic is pleasant and only because I'm not in time. You are the best!)

I will try to entertain you and maybe you will be interested. I follow the illustrator Alexandra Dikaia and she has always emphasized the importance of authenticity in illustrations, taught how to create own brand of personality and thus realize myself. I'm still a bad student who never finishes her homework, haha. But I come back to them when I get "lost". Everything has its time. Now, because of the war, she was forced to move to England and met Professor Gordon Hamme. He is the author of the practical course "How to build a craft business" (How to create a business for creatives). I haven't had the opportunity to buy this book yet to review it, but the recommendations say it's a great book to look at creative business from both the personal brand and business side. It sounds like a lot of fun. And it helps to look at art not only as something unattainable, but also as something that can work and how it can work. I would also like to create my own merchandise store someday, because I love it when illustrations become practical objects. Oh, dream…

I'm still fascinated to see that someone has my drawing hanging in their home or as their avatar or something! Friends, if you ever send me a photo of your room with my drawing on it, you should know that this photo will remain in my phone forever. Haha.

You were late, again. Running through the halls of your school, trying to get to the first period. You stopped and looked up at the ceiling for a second and as you inhale air you curse at the same time. Not only did you carry your school bag, you also brought your art supplies; which had a lot of weight on your shoulders. As if the universe wanted to fuck with you, your first class was on the third floor and soon to begin.

A sigh escaped your lips before you went back on your way. School went like usual and thankfully the teacher didn’t scold you for being a couple minutes late. It was time for the students to go to their extracurricular activities. Yours was art; at the other side of the building.

While trying to get your materials from one floor to another, you didn’t notice a tall figure colliding with your body. Both of you minding your own business, so the impact was a surprise. Apologies came out of your mouths until you spotted who it was.

Black hair slid back, dark eyes like the night looking at you with confusion and shame for what just happened. “My bad. I wasn’t looking where I was going.” You said to Shinichiro Sano, the boy who was standing right it front of you.

“It was my fault, don’t worry…” He kept adding apologies until he noticed what you were carrying. “Do you need help with that?” He asked while getting on the same stair, followed by a shy smile.

You nodded with your head in defeat. You were not weak physically, but everything you had done this week had you burned out on a another level. The dark haired boy in front of you send your way a polite smile before taking the bag you carried with your art supplies as both of you headed to the art room.

Your small talk was kinda rusty, since you don’t have time to socialize much with all the exams and preparations you have to go through in your last year of school. You had the same friends since 8th grade and this last few weeks you had been living under a rock filled with projects and assignments. Shinichiro-kun was the one who asked the questions even if the redness in his cheeks was quite palpable.

It surprised you how charming his personality was. You found him kinda intimidating since he had his reputation of gang leader, but he showed you a side of him that was totally different, leaving you curious to all the rumores that went around about him.

Once in the classroom he said his goodbyes and a comment he made, left you with a smile that you didn’t notice. ‘Hope to do this again, see you around’. Days went by and you saw him on the halls but didn’t cross words.

This felling that he left in you was something that you tried to minimize and ignore, since it was just one encounter. It didn’t have any meaning, right? You didn’t even know the guy!

There was no reason for you to be overthinking or daydreaming about romantic stuff with a guy like him… Not that you mind, but there were important things you had to do before redirecting your energy into romance.

The school year ended and you only crossed paths once, with an interchange of smiles being shared. For a couple weeks you focused on your own things while still being aware of him and his gang. You were getting ready for your daily sketch, while putting away your art supplies and deciding with ones to take.

Close to the cafe you frequent there was a bike, an image invaded your head: Shinichiro Sano. The guy you haven’t thought about in probably months came to mind in a flash. A soft smile was drawn on your face, as you remembered the gesture he did the last time you interacted with each-other.

You entered the shop and order the usual. After paying you sat close to the window so you could sketch the bike with a calm environment surrounding you. The smell of fresh coffee being served, the machines working to make that delightful and tasty fluid.

People interacting with eachother while their voices echoed in your ears. You loved it here.

Halfway your sketch you saw the owner of the bike get ready to hop on it. You couldn’t believe it, it was almost cliche and you had to take a second to recognize him; it made you laugh. You left your things and took your shot, taking the first step with took a lot of courage since it was hard for you.

You used many excuses to run from good things, the fear of messing up important relationships often let you paralyzed to the option of meeting new people. What if you get attached to them an then they leave? What if they never really appreciate you and end up hurting you even more? You had your own reasons as to why not dating while studying… Fear being one of them, yet, you felt currents through your body, pulling you towards the desire to want to share the silliest and most romantic things with someone.

You had done your job and made most of your last year goals come true… It was time to consider wether you were ready or not. The impulse that lure you to make this stupid decision, is the one you are grateful the most. Looking back you wish you’d done it sooner, since there was nothing be be afraid of. It was Shinichiro you were talking about, after all.

The man today is looking at you with love in his eyes, totally dumbfounded and enraptured by what he says is your beauty and charm. Who touches you with eager and shyness at the same time, while demonstrating how much he desires you and wants you. Both of you have learned to let go, to be more spontaneous and to maintain good communication. Who with his kisses calms any storm and steals away any doubt.

The black haired man who is standing in one knee, telling you a speech while tears of joy run through both of your cheeks. You can’t help it but say yes to his question ‘… Will you paint the skies with me and marry me?’.

It’s a quarter past 1:00 am right now, and I still can’t sleep. So I decided to look at your other asks. And ugh, what is people’s problem nowadays? 😓 But to give my 🪙 about this: obviously I can’t judge anybody’s -> Off’s sexuality. (1. Because it’s rude; 2. Because I am not a psychic; 3. Because I’m not a famous person so I have no idea how they would deal with such a thing; and finally 4. Because estimating other people’s ideas and motivations has never been my strongest suit. 🥲) And I don’t think it really matters.

And I would never underestimate the trials of coming to terms with who you are 🏳️‍🌈 (god knows it took me nearly 20 years and I’m still learning every day!), but I don’t think we should underestimate how difficult it can be portraying someone like “us queers.” Especially if you’re unsure about your identity or not part of the community at all. And this is really not meant as queerphobic, but merely targeted at the toxic climate that has been created around BLs (which Off rightfully criticises), in which “skinships” and real life shipping at one point became the norm. And whatever the reason is (you weren’t raised in a way that made intimacy a part of everyday life, you simply aren’t a tactile person, you find it difficult to do all those things [or anything at all frankly] in front of masses of screaming people, you don’t feel the need to do those things, you don’t consider it part of working at your career etc.), not everyone is immediately comfortable with presenting themselves like that. (Mind you I’ve only been in the fandom for a hot second 👶, but even I can see that back when OffGun first rose to prominence, the “demands” were even more insane than now.) Even when it comes to accurately portraying a queer character, I would consider that a craft, especially when you aren’t queer yourself.

Obviously we, a small ensemble of “us” noble fans with common sense who just want our favourite actors happy and succeeding in their work, can’t do a lot to change the entire BL system. (Gosh, this almost make them sound like Tawi’s gang! 🤭) But what we can do, is be patient with all of the actors (especially the new ones or those who, like Off, don’t seem exactly “at ease” in the BL cosmos) and support them in their endeavours. And let the art (lmao ehh the “production” 😅) be the prime focus. So, instead of complaining about “lack of chemistry” or your “fave ‘couple’ not acting together”, try to focus on what other projects actors are working on or just new BL shows with new stories. Stories that can open a whole new world, whatever that world may look like. 🏳️‍🌈 🌏

Very well said anon! I don't think there's much for me to add except that I really do think people should keep what you point out in mind when talking about actors, especially asian actors since queerness is still very much something taboo for so many asian cultures. Not being comfortable with BL culture doesn't necessarily make someone homophobic. Even when he was super uncomfortable with the demands from bl fans he never once acted like queerness itself was something disgusting (looking at krist) he was very clear about the discomfort coming from his own dislike of physical touch. And still he never treated Gun poorly for wanting to hold hands and hug. He was always very careful with how he portrayed and talked about queerness too. Even now he's one of the most vocal BL actors when it comes to talking about queer rights. Just today him and Tay were flooding the tl with articles about the marriage equality struggle in thailand. To say that he's "aggressively straight" or not a good ally or being performative just because 6 years ago he didn't like holding hands with Gun is just such a toxic take.

People need to let asian actors be. Asian countries aren't as open to queerness. Not even thailand. In fact, being openly queer in the thai industry has effectively killed a lot of careers and even insanely good actors like Fluke and Gun struggle to get good roles bc execs don't want to cast them in "masculine" roles. It's a whole homophobic mess over there. So yeah, people aren't always gonna be comfortable with the BL industry and a lot of queer actors won't actively come out for years still. People shouldn't judge them without considering the context of their situation.

AHHHH!! I love questions like these lol, I always wanna talk about my OCs hehe

I've already made a few other posts about how I came up with their names and some fun facts about them/ their creation which can be found on my blog

In general my blog was inspired by darlingverse! I really love her blog and characters and I wanted to try it out for myself! I'd also been wanting to write for original characters for a while and wanted to do so on a separate blog bc I want my main blog to remain as reader-inserts and fanfics

Alois was originally inspired by Alucard from Castlevania! I wanted a character with a tragic background as opposed to a story that's currently going through tragedy and someone who's classy and sensitive. I like the idea of non-humans hiding amongst/ living alongside us so I made the whole backstory with his ancestor and the night court and his big family (ahem also if any of you ever want to ask his sibling something or make requests for them, I would love that). The albinism was originally just for character design but it soon became a defining factor of his family and status. The night court has been separate from the human world for a long time so I thought that they would have different means of measuring power in society such as the strength of their supernatural abilities as dictated by their heritage (made clear in the Leblanc family by their albinism).

Nasana was inspired by a drabble I wrote on anon on nagaparadise's blog! I love nagas a lot and want to make more content for them lol. A lot of Nasana's character is based on aesthetics and I wanted him to be quite solitary because who doesn't love a "I hate everyone but my s/o and Lixue" trope?

Takeshi was prompted by some of wyyvern's art and his character was heavily inspired by Tomoe from Kamisama Kiss! I wanted someone as mean as he was flirty and as caring as he was cold. He's old so I wanted to give his character a lot of development and yet not enough at the same time if that makes sense? Take has done some terrible things in the past and while he does not actively try to redeem himself or feel overly guilty, he is able to recognise that he was a victim of his abandonment and having no moral guide made him what he was - there was a brief period of time where he hated his nogitsune nature but he quickly recognised that while his circumstances had not been his fault, it was his responsibility to come to the realisation that he needed to change and then to make that change of his own will.

Desdemona was my little bisexual heart wanting to put some women on this blog AHAHA. She's very much a femme-fatale, she learned English through old films so she speaks with a transatlantic accent. I wanted a woman who was classy and gothic, much like Lady Dimitrescu. Also mommy issues go brrrrr

Aphaeleon was just from a want to make an angel OC! I really enjoyed learning about angelology and Enochian and I just love the idea of someone whose corruption has deluded him into viewing his own corruption as purity. I went to catholic schools when I was younger (I'm a Hellenist now though lol) but I still really like the catholic 'aesthetic' and I've also taken some inspiration from the band Ghost in terms of this character in a modern setting finding a way to charm people and gather his own following (though of course Aphae's is a bit more extreme than a metal band lol).

Va'ari and Taru were inspired by House of the Dragon and Fëanor and Fingolfin from the Silmarillion (originally they were going to be twins but I decided to make the succession crisis worse hehe). I wanted a setting where I would write court politics, fractured families and a succession crisis and also I thought that faeries would have some good potential for dark/yandere content hehe (Taruqu'inel being so desperate for love that he tricks you into giving you his name so you can't leave if he commands you to stay? HELLO?? Va'ariniel needing to secure everything she has so she can't lose it making her trick you into eating fae food so you can't return to your own world? I'll write it one day)
