Hey, also, all the anarchist shit aside, tomorrow I want you to make something.

I forced myself to draw something after the 2016 election. I forced myself to draw something when my mother died in 2018. I forced myself to draw something when my spouse was hospitalized for multiple organ failure in 2021.

When you are miserable, make something. Add a row to your project, bake a box cake, draw on a sheet of lined paper, write a poem on a napkin, fold an origami shirt out of a dollar bill, make your favorite recipe for dinner, but make something with your hands, something that you can hold and look at engage your senses in.

It won't fix the world, but it will change the world. You will have made something that didn't exist before. You will have impacted your reality, even in a very small way. And it is going to be something you made *after.* Something bad happened, something shook you, and you made something after, in spite of it.

im trying not to be mean either bc i get for some ppl this is their first election voting in and all but ur going to survive genuinely u r gonna live and get thru this and u need to quit the tears and go google what can be done in ur community to build more connection and out reach if ur white u need to gulp down fear and start calling out ur family members for their conservatism like im over it im over the pity and the melt downs u people dont listen to those of us on the bottom i survived both the trump and biden presidency and both of them harmed me but many of you are able to turn away because your whiteness allows it, project 2025 does not scare me bc america in its structural core is project 2025 they have already been doing this to my people and all the other ppl of color here im not afraid im annoyed and i need u ppl to put the tissues down and actually push back bc we cannot continue to be the only ppl caring

the most depressing part is that it's not even kamala's stance on genocide that is costing her the elections. i wish it were. it's people genuinely shifting for trump. but it's the pro-palestine movement that's going to get the blame for it.

i think a lot of people are unhappy because they thing happiness is something that people find or consume rather than something they have to be an active participant in

I think at some point in time we need to sit down and start explaining to artist who want to make a career out of art that there are FAR more options than just "living off of commissions" and "posting my art online and praying I get paid for it".
