You and Hongjoong have now had 5 sessions recording, editing and sorting the music and vocals, and Joong has enjoyed every bit of it. He always puts every ounce of passion, effort and creativity into his music, whether you’re there or not, but something about you being here adds a spark.

You two take a break since Joong ordered you both chinese takeout. You’re both on his studio’s couch he’s sitting down while you’re laying on the rest of the space, your legs resting on Hongjoongs.

Ant-Man 3: “B**ch Be**er have my M**ey!”

It sucks, you know?? When you have a high expectation for something and it turns out to be a dud: whether it's a movie or an album, a restaurant... 

a Super Bowl Halftime Show... With a Marvel movie, you're excited, others see it first, and the reactions are -

You're like "NO!"

BUT, you find the polar opposite reactions as well... although THOSE reactions are coming from kids, or people who were drunk/high while watching, or people who show up to the theater like this guy -

So, what are you supposed to believe? (Kids, Lesson Time: "Don't have expectations.")

I'm sure you've heard certain complaints about Ant-Man 3 already. I will say that most of those complaints are 100. Does that mean the movie is bad?

It starts off with the loveable Scott Lang, skipping and whistling down the street; not a care in the world, and feeling himself, cuz he has taken sole responsibility for saving the world ("End Game"). And why not?? - he's been a joke for a while, so take that victory lap, big boy.

Then, there's of course The QUANTUM REALM, which everyone keeps saying is so dangerous, and yet, in every Ant-Man movie, somebody goes there. This movie is no different and 

OH NOOOOOOOOOOO!

it happened again.

The problem is that this time they really shouldn't have gone back, cuz Janet (Michelle MuthaBleepin Pfeiffer)

 was stingy with the details of her 30 year trip to and back from The Quantum Realm. She failed to mention her Summer fling with the newest super villain KANG (J.Majors - 

known to the acting community as "The Shit").

Was it a Summer fling? They don't paint that picture, but... they were alone for a very long time, they saved each others lives, they were fixing things in a very sweaty manner; banging and grunting, and they were sharing intimate parts of their lives with each other, so... she also may have been banging some military alien, maybe this thirsty piece

, and definitely this guy.

But, I digress :)  (You go, gurl.)

She finds out that Kang is a monster 

(A time/dimension traveler, who has been around for ever and has the most advanced tech as a result.... oh, and he has an Alexander the Great mindset) , and abandons him there to go back to her family.  

She didn't mention any of that to her family! Way to go, Janet!

So, the mission is everyone get home and don't let Kang follow you.

Problem is they got split up.

OK, so this part I loved! 

We got to explore this new world, which is visually very cool. In fact, the CGI throughout most of this movie is satisfying (especially with 3D action). There are a few things that this movie does that are really interesting:

The whole evolution thing (it's a new world with all kinds of life in it, doing lively things).

They do something really cool with the language that different species speak.

There is some sort of "probability realm", which we see a lil bit of in the trailer - an interesting concept, that is unfortunately not explored enough.

The tech is dope! And everytime we see Kang! Whew! Jonathan Majors nails it! He's calm, collected, focused, and scary. The Ant-Man family may be playing around, but he aint, and I love it. Oh, and the ants! I frickin loved the ants!

Have I said enough good things about this? :) Are we clear? I'm a PMB (Proud Marvel Bitch), so it's not always easy for me to criticize them. It feels similar to Rihanna's Super Bowl Halftime Show. I had to say a bunch of nice (and true) things first, before... you know... There's no way to criticize a pregnant woman without sounding like a jerk, especially if that pregnant woman is Rihanna. But...

I love Rihanna, btw.

Visually, stunning... but everything concerning the story is a hot mess. To save time on this rant I will simply boil the prob down to its root:

Too much going on:

It was a simple plot! Get yo asses home, and tell Kang to bleep off! MARVEL! why couldn't you have just kept it simple?!

There's all of the secrets with Janet; her secret lives (and ex's:), there's all of the family drama ( and the family lessons this movie attempts to teach us), there's all of the natives and their bullshit, there's M.O.D.O.K.... I really hated him; like everything about him. He's supposed to look weird, but... 

MARVEL, YOU'RE BETTER THAN THIS.

They made him some moron from the first movie, and there's a whole thing with him being a dick. For a family movie, they use the word "dick" so much. There's no way that children walk away from this movie, and "dick"  doesn't become their new favorite word.

There is way too much going on with Kang. They explain it, but.... not very well. His story is explained way better in Loki season 1. One of the criticisms of the movie is that this whole film is just a set-up for Kang - which it is. I have no problem with that, but then do it properly. Give us more Kang (in story). We'll be getting all kinds of Kangs soon (time traveling is a dick). I feel like the uncovering of Kang's (and multiple Kangs) story is like helping a hoarder clean out their living room - you've been tossing junk out for hours and it still looks like a mess.

There are also some plot holes, which I won't say anything about, except this - Kang has all of this HI-Tech stuff, so why is he struggling so much with Ant-Man and The Wasp... AND the Cassie.

May I talk about The Wasp and The Cassie??!

In the trailer, all I saw was Kang kicking Ant-Man's ass up and down The Quantum Realm; practicing for "Creed III" He's also in a room where Kang is stomping the hell out of his skull, like Ant-Man owed him some money.

  Don't act like you forgot, Scott!

The whole time, I'm like - "WHERE IS THE WASP?! DOES SHE NOT SEE HER MAN GETTING BEAT UP?!" - her name is still in the title isn't it?! Pull your weight, lady!

Now, she's there, and saves him quite a bit, but my point is they didn't really promote her, because they know that she doesn't really matter. I'm sorry if that sounds mean, but it's true. After that second Ant-Man movie, her character just... idk... becomes forgettable.

She's just a tag-on to the franchise. Was she in The End Game battle? I think so... but I don't remember. Was she at the funeral in that movie? I don't remember. Any other Marvel important moments? Was she in any of the "What If" stuff? I think so, but I don't remember. Is she mentioned at all in any other Marvel movies or shows? I don't remember. Not only do I not remember, but it doesn't matter. We never got to know her that well. She doesn't need to be here. Someone that we care more about could have let Ant-Man get beat up, and then at the last second, save him.

The Cassie? - same thing. And enough with these younger characters who are super geniuses. We only need one, and we have Spider-Man. We all know that most kids are dumb (No offense. Not you kids who might read this... other kids. Your Uncle Rambling Praphit is rooting for you... stay in school). Cassie, whom we don't really know, shows up all ready to fight and hogging up some scene time from Ant-Man.

She was all like "Care about me, audience! I'm young! I'm smart! I'm a girl! And I'm just as good as my dad, Ant-Man, even though I've had no training. YAY! Follow me!"

I was like "Who is this clown? I don't know you. Your daddy cares about you, so I guess I will, but,,, speaking of your daddy, can we get back to him?? " These tag-ons just don't have any personality for themselves. There's no reason to be excited about them.

Tag-on after tag-on: Wasp, Cassie, Michael Douglas, Chidi from the Good Place...

It's too much! I loved the world, and it's beautiful... the kids out there and or the people who saw this movie while high will love it, but can we stick to a character developement??!

Give me the ever delightful Paul Rudd, skipping and whistling through new world, cracking jokes. Give me Michellle Pfeiffer, action hero, blowing things up in this new world, and having Summer flings with aliens. Give me Kang, torturing and zapping his way through the miracle of life in this new world, while explaining just what the hell his problem is! But, pick one! Dammit, Marvel!

Much like The Wasp, it just doesn't matter. We'll say a generous C- Same reaction I had after watching that Super Bowl Halftime Show, I guess... I said afterwards... "Well, she's pregant. How bout that??"

There's a show called "Fringe" Once upon a time, it was one of my favs. It was kinda like X-Files meets X-Men... kinda. But, then in later seasons they got into different dimensions and time travel and the show became hard to follow. You knew of one character, but then met a "variant" version, and then had to learn about them all over again.

Marvel is in danger of this. You've gotta be on your game to write stories on this type of level.

On your game like Steph Curry at practice when he shoots like 48 for 50 from half court. I feel like Marvel has been more like 5 for 50. Now, it's game time, and they're like "We're ready! Let's do this!" And I'm like, "We're so f**king  doomed." smh

i still hate the way kuukou’s written, but what the stage did do was take a majority of kuukou’s development, which primarily happened before he formed bat, and fit it into a linear, easy to follow, format for the stage. not something i particularly agree with but i understand why they did!!!!!

i still don’t understand why they removed his compassion tho lol

they started to set up parallels between kuukou’s arrogance and jakurai’s arrogance back in track 3 and i’m happy to see it come together here in bat vs mtr

on that note, wow!!!!! sensei was kind of an asshole lmao!!!!!

hitoya displayed a degree of levelheadedness his canon counterpart didn’t; here in the play, hitoya is willing to admit he’s changed as well and maybe jakurai’s change wasn’t the only reason they fell apart. interesting stuff

what had me yelling was how they took hifumi’s feelings about honobono and applied it towards getting jakurai to open up towards reconciliation!!!!!!!!!!! some relationships you have to fight for hifumi said!!!!!!! goddamn they really made sensei face hitoya!!!!!!! i love it!!!!!!!!

and the fact we still get to hear hifumi’s feelings about honobono!!!!!!! they had to keep mtr drama light because bat’s drama wasn’t as devastating as mtr’s in the battle album and the more equal stakes are a great call!!!! but yay!!!!!! hifumi’s complex feelings about honobono!!!!!!!!!

QYURRYUS - Julian Casablancas x reader

A/N: I committed so many sins writing, but....I kinda popped off though.Y/N is 26 btw.

Being the (26 year old) daughter of a recording studio owner had its perks. Famous musicians coming in and out all the time, meeting them, and even becoming acquaintances or friends with them was the best experience, and you were forever grateful for your father for letting you come with him whenever he recorded people or mixed what they have recorded. He taught you all you needed to know, letting you even start to mix for certain artists. Another perk, though? You got to hear most music before anyone else got to. 

Today The Voidz was recording their album ‘Virtue,’ and you were more excited than you probably should’ve been considering MANY things. Julian Casablancas was your long time crush ever since you were a teenager when you discovered The Strokes, so…you could already tell today was going to be interesting. 

You walked over to your father who was practically ordering the band around, telling them who would record next, how he wanted Julian’s voice to really be pulled through the raucous of the instrumental, yelling when they got a good take, and sighing when they messed up.  Your dad ran a tight shift at Surround Sound Studios and sometimes you just knew not to get in his way, so, today you didnt. You wanted to talk to the band, but you knew you’d probably fall into the wrath of your father, telling you that you were distracting the men. So…you said nothing.

It wasn’t until everyone decided to take a break that Julian came up to you and complimented your t-shirt. 

“I love Sonic Youth.” He smiled charmingly. 

“O-oh yeah. My dad gave this to me. It’s uh…it’s from the 80s when they released ‘Daydream Nation’.”

“Oh that’s sick! That’s the first album I listened to by them.”

He smiled again and walked away when one of his bandmates called him over to listen to the track that they recorded. You sighed, a little disappointed that you and he didnt talk a little more, but, at the same time, he was there to work, not to chum it up with the owner’s daughter.

“QYURRYUS” was the track that was being recorded next and, you had to admit, it was your favorite so far. 

“Hot track, hot dress, undressing this hot mess. Getting off on the west side, all day on a roof in the west side”

You were entranced by his voice. HOW could someone sound so SEXY using AUTOTUNE!? The talking he did as the first three lines made your heart beat faster and faster, his deep voice making you rather...frustrated. WHY did he have to be so HOT?! And WHY did you HAVE to have a crush on him?! You cursed your dad for booking The Voidz. 

Looking away, you blushed hard, your face as red as a tomato. “Hey dad..? I’m gonna step out for a sec, It’s getting a little hot in here.”

“Yeah go ahead, get some fresh air, doll” He replied, a little distracted sounding.

You walked outside and lit a cigarette, trying to get your mind off of the man in the recording booth singing about how he wanted to “undress this hot mess.” God, you wished you were the hot mess he was wanting to undress—

‘STOP! NO! He’s like 40! That’s weird! And like…he’s here to work, not get lucky!’ You reprimanded yourself for even thinking about him that way. You didnt know him and he didnt know you, so why were you acting so awkward? Like c’mon Y/N!!!

You decided to walk back in like nothing happened. The band was still recording the SAME song they were recording since you walked out. Sighing, you sat back down on your stool and watched Julian sing. For some reason, he was looking at you as he sang. 

“Hot track, hot dress, undressing this hot mess. Getting off on the west side, all day on a roof on the west side.” He was staring right at you very intensely. Why….?

“THAT’S A WRAP, GUYS!  Ya did great! See ya tomorrow bright and early for the next session, alright?” Your dad yelled into the recording room, utterly proud of the men’s work and the mixing that he did. 

Everyone packed up what they needed to pack up and, when everyone was walking out, Julian pulled you to the side. 

“Hey, Y/N, right? I was wondering if you wanted to listen back to the mix that we did? I’d like a younger ear to listen, yknow?” He laid a hand on your shoulder, smiling. 

“Oh..sure! I’d love to, especially since my dad didnt let me listen to the last mix. He said he ‘wanted it to be a surprise’ for me. Ugh..” 

“Alright, well, I’ll tell the guys that we’re staying back to listen to the mixes.” He walked off to tell the guys, and, when he came back, was still smiling and being very enthusiastic about listening to the songs.

“God, Julian, they’re great! BUT I think the bass needs to be heavier. Plus….you could ALWAYS use a little more autotune—“

“So you think my voice sucks, yeah?” He joked, nudging you with his elbow.

“Oh fuck you, that’s not what I meant.”

“Fuck me? Oh believe me, I’ve wanted you to all day.” Julian said matter-of-factly

You were taking a sip of water when he said that, making you choke. 

“Gotcha choked up, huh. Can’t really blame ya, I am gorgeous and sexy and all around man of the year every year.” The man shrugged, getting up. You didn’t know if he was joking about the whole you two fucking thing or not.

You bit your lip, a little embarrassed. You really felt like an idiot for falling for what he said. 

‘You dipshit, of course he was joking—‘

“I wasnt joking, yknow. I’ve been eyeing you all fuckin day and, Jesus Christ, the studio’s owner has got one hot mess of a daughter.”

“O-oh—“

“I saw ya lookin at me too, so dont act like you’re all innocent,” he laughed, “you were practically eye-fuckin me the entire time we were recording!”

You looked at him totally stunned. What the fuck was going on and what world were you currently living in?!

Julian stepped towards you and grabbed your chin between his pointer finger and thumb, making you look up at him. “I know you’ve got some…things up in that pretty little head of yours that you’re holding back. And believe me, I’ve got some things I was holding back all day. Like I said, the owner’s got one hot daughter.”

Your eyes were wider than saucers as you stared up at him, totally shocked that this was even happening. Oh god…you knew you were gonna do something kinda stupid with him, but at the same time…you didnt really care all that much. I mean come ON, PEOPLE, IT’S JULIAN CASABLANCAS, FOR FUCK’S SAKE! You nodded at his comment about how he knew you were thinking of some things because…you were. It was very obvious. 

The way you crossed your legs, squeezing them together whenever he spoke, the laugh you’d produce when he made a joke, the little shudder you made when he brushed his hand against your tense thigh - those were all tells and Mr. Casablancas knew them well from his years of experience. In simpler terms, you were horny and he knew it. 

“So what’dya want, love?”

Your breath hitched in your throat. Was this really happening?

“Use your words, cmon, I know you can.” Julian teased, moving in a little closer to your lips, barely brushing them against yours.

“I-i want to like…I wanna..—“

The singer was little tired of waiting, so he kissed you passionately, very lustfully.  His hand traveled up your shirt quickly, cupping your chest, kneading the soft skin as his lips devoured yours relentlessly. 

You let out soft moans into his mouth, giving him access to kiss you deeper and with tongue. He seemed utterly pleased with himself that the daughter of the recording studio’s owner would be into him and well…put out a little for him. It wasn’t like he saw himself as better than you though, it was more that “I cant believe this is actually happening” sort of feeling.  He was just as stunned as you were, but he hid it a lot better.

Pulling away was difficult for the both of you, neither party wanting to end the kissing, but human’s do need air and the both of you were severely out of breath. 

Panting slightly, he began: “What do you want? Tell me, I’ll do whatever. You’re hot as hell and I’m down for anything. Really. Your wish is my command.”

You nodded along with what he said. There was one thing you had been thinking about since he stepped into the studio and started singing and that thing was….

Gathering up some confidence, you got down on your knees and then looked up at him, silently asking if it was okay, to which me smiled and said a soft “go ahead, love.” Sucking in a breath, swallowing some spit, and then blinking a few times just to get the disbelief out of your head, you unzipped the singer’s jeans and pulled them down. 

You had only done with a couple of times, so you were quite scared if Julian - since he was older and more experienced - would be disappointed in your lack of ability, but here you were, going for it anyway. 

Kissing the outline of his member, you looked up with wide eyes, knowing it would drive him crazy. When you had decided that enough was enough with teasing, you got down to business. 

Pulling his length out of his boxers, you were nervous, but you licked his member from the base to the head. Julian let out a hiss, telling you to do that again. You did in an attempts to get him to do it again. I mean, the noise was hot as hell.

Suddenly, the door opened and your father walked inside. 

“Julian, Y/N, how long have you two been here? We went to get dinner, but we had to leave cuz we were all done and you guys just didnt come.”

Julian smirked. ‘I know I did,’ he thought to himself.

“Well, we just got really hung up on the songs, yknow? She really digs ‘em. Says youre a great mixer, though you probably already knew that she knew that, yknow?” Julian smiled, being rather coy and acting oh so innocent, like nothing ever happened. 

“Well…thank you Y/N, but you two should probably pack it up cuz we’ve got an early mornin’ tomorrow, alright?”

“Yessir”

“Yeah dad,” you smiled at him before he left the room. 

You and Julian looked at each other, smirking. 

“Call me some time, alright?” He said, totally meaning what he it, as he handed you a piece of paper with his number on it.

All you could do was nod and smile back at him.

Matt Vines is absolute garbage and I would so love it if he went away forever. For someone who does do little, he thinks super highly of himself. And honestly, he doesn’t have a decent grasp of this fandom. The fact that so many of us that have stuck by Louis for years are just exhausted and tired and just do not care anymore. Like, I’m here for the new music, but have basically checked out of everything else, and that’s a result of the current faith in the future promo. What are they going to do when the only people that show up are purple hair stalker and her minions, because everyone else moved on? I hate Louis’ team so much.

I’ll give him this - he’s great at talking. Unfortunately, he’s not actually good at being a manager, his “strategies” are failing miserably, and he doesn’t have even half as good of a grasp of Louis’ fandom as he thinks he does.

I think one of the most frustrating quotes for me was this:

“We spend our life slowly re-educating people on who he is, to try and remove any preconceptions about what he might be, what he wants to do or even who he is as a person.”

That’s a great thing to think is important, and understandable considering Louis’ music and goals now are very different from when he was in a boyband. But have they actually attempted to re-educate people effectively? Let’s reflect on this supposed re-education and what talking points it actually consists of....

1) Louis was in One Direction. Did you hear? He was in One Direction. Louis was in One Direction and he loves the other boys and supports the other boys who never mention or support him publicly ever because HE WAS IN ONE DIRECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Btw he’s not as popular as a solo artist and is very much the underdog now that he’s not in One Direction. Former One Directioner Louis Tomlinson!!!! 1D 4 LYFE!! Hope they reunite soon hehe!

2) Louis is a father. Louis has a child!!!!! Freddie, yes, Freddie! Freddie lives in LA where Louis totally spends so much of his time because he is a FATHER. Father Louis and his son Freddie who he definitely hangs out with all the time and who he definitely had listen to his album first!!!!!! Oh, you don’t want to hear about a random 7-year-old in interviews that are supposed to be promoting an album? TOO BAD....FATHER LOUIS IS HERE.

3) Louis loves supporting other artists!!!! Louis loves other artists. Louis does everything he can to support small indie bands who rarely support him back and he will constantly praise more popular artists like Sam Fender whose high praise of him in return consists of “he’s a nice kid.” Louis is here to support other artists more than himself!! Here’s a playlist of all the artists Louis supports! Oh, he has a single to promote? Oopsies! We forgot to include that hehe.

4) Louis smokes and drinks. LOUIS LOVES SMOKING AND DRINKING!!!! Smoking and drinking is everything to him, fundamental to his being. Louis always has a cigarette or a drink in his hand, Louis chain smokes through every interview, Louis drinks before, during, and after every show. Isn’t it like, so so cool that Louis drinks and smokes? He’s so indie, he’s so rocker. No, you don’t get to listen to a performance of his song, but knowing he drinks vodka redbulls before a show should make up for that, right?

It doesn’t even matter if some of these things (excluding babygate) are true - Louis can drink and smoke and be proud of his past in One Direction, but when you make these talking points the centerpiece of almost every article and interview, that’s all people see of him. And sorry, but that’s not gaining him a single fan.

The “re-education” about him that they’ve engaged in, particularly in the UK, has only served to make others the focus of Louis’ promo (whether it’s the other One Direction boys, people from his personal life, or other artists) and prevent people from taking him seriously as a musician, songwriter, and performer. It’s not motivating anybody to check out his music, and that includes alternative and indie fans. Nobody is going to go listen to Louis’ album because they learn he smokes like a chimney or he enjoys listening to The Snuts.

And the sad thing is that if they actually just let Louis talk about his music and then perform it, if they let his music speak for itself through performances and radio play, it would make him thousands upon thousands more fans than all of these awful fucking interviews and print articles combined.

-- Fon is both very proud his grandson is a Sky and very protective. Because Izuku is a Sky related to an Arcobaleno, and the world is very much interested in that. 

Fon won’t have it. 

His boy’s Elements will be genuinely found and Bonded and he will Fuck Up anyone that tries to prevent that.

--Izuku has the Hibari temper in s p a d e s. He was a tiny ball of rage and FIGHT ME as a toddler, and Fon was the one to teach him to reign it in, Inko remembering her father’s childhood temper stories. It’s why he gets along with Katsuki so well, and why he’s so FERAL even if no one believes it until it’s too late. TSUNA (for giggles, cause I’m weak)

---Izuku grows up surrounded by adoration and love, and a wild variety of personalities. He’s....a little odd himself as a result. 

---He’s definitely a force to reckon with, being a Sunny Sky, with the Vongola Hyper Intuition? Ooooh, he’s gonna abuse the hell out of it in hero work. And in Friendship but nicely. Shhh. 

---Izuku never doubts he is loved, and he relishes in the strange Vongola traditions and UA is....comparatively a breeze to Uncle Reborn. He actually likes Aizawa On Sight, beyond his Hyper Intuition because he reminds him of his Uncle.

---Izuku enjoys Cosplay. Reborn thought it was funny to fuck with Tsuna that way, Inko thought it was hilarious and cute, and Tsuna....also thought it was cute despite the internal sdfgsgfdsd. Reborn is thrilled. 

---Izuku fights best with his hands and body, but he sure as hell knows how to ROCK a gun, because Uncle Reborn and Uncle Xanxus would have no other options on that, and his genius little mind ROCKS the math for trick shots. His Uncles are so proud.

---Reborn has been the family man at heart, for a very long time, for all that he never said so openly. He was there for all of Izuku’s milestones, and adores the little Sunny Sky beyond words.

---Absolutely was teaching Toddler Izuku gun maintenance way before he should have done, but Inko was taught the same and sees no issues. with this, so Izuku knows the names of gun parts and how to put them together and take them apart and safety rules....long, long before anyone else would have.

It's written so well and with such obvious love for the star wars universe, while perfectly integrating the dsmp crew into this world in a way that feels so natural. more specifically, Wilbur's descent to the Dark Side is just so well done, I'm a total sucker for 'falling to the Dark Side' tropes in SW and this one is just done amazingly. it's crimeboys centric angst, although you get a bit of bedrock bros in there as well! it's not really a happy ending though, just know that when getting into it

I've definitely read my fair share of the superhero/supervillain/vigilante au fics and this one is my number one hands down. it's honestly not so much about the whole superhero supervillain stuff, but primarily focused on relationships, both healthy and unhealthy ones. all the characters are so painfully human in this, and this has one of the most interesting crimeboys dynamics I've ever seen in a fic. it's just so well written and honestly i'm in awe of it, I get so excited every time it updates, pls go read it

my notes: yo ok so this is 100% me outing myself as an mcr stan, but this fic literally reignited my love for the entire world of the fabulous killjoys and reminded me how much I adored danger days as an album. this fic is super well-written and really fleshes out the world in the killjoys universe, but you don't exactly need prior knowledge of the fabulous killjoys to understand the fic! the reader learns along with Tommy as he's pretty clueless as to what's going on, but it's just such a fun and wild ride that just reminded me of my love for this universe. it's sbi centric though be warned techno isn't the nicest in this, and I won't lie, it has a kind of an angsty ending. still though I highly recommend reading it for some colorful nuclear desert wasteland fun!

I'm sorry this is a bit late, I was really busy the whole day! Also i feel like this isn't too angsty or this isn't as heartbreaking as i wanted it to be haha probably because I'm too tired right now, it's 3:00 am where I live but i really wanted to write it since this concept has been with me since i first started writing and i feel like i can nail it since me and this guy broke up just this last Saturday lol. But idk i don't think i gave this one a justice but please let me know!!

Also i tweeked some of the details of the whole album release as well as the album/song meaning/interpretation itself.

Btw! I'm planning on writing a second part and hopefully a third part which will have a spin off so tell me if you want me to write it!

You're proud. You're so proud of him, so fucking proud of your best friend - your boyfriend. You don't remember the last time you felt like this - you're anxious, excited, scarred - everything and you felt like you might pass out with every tick of the seconds of the clock.

You look like a crazy person. Sitting at the end of the edge of the couch, your foot tapping rapidly along with your ranging mind. Your natural nails now looks awful from how much you've bitten it for God knows how long. Your hair disheveled together with your now wrinkled clothes.

Harry on the other hand looks calm - too calm for your liking and you wanna scream at him for still looking so good even though you know he's also just as tense as you, maybe even more, but you can't. Not on one of the most special occasions in his life.

Tonight is the release date of his second solo album "Fine Line". You couldn't fathom how much sleepless nights he went through just to produce this - along with the crew and you couldn't be any less prideful. Harry has been so hands on, from the tunes, to the lyrics, to the instrumentals, to the photo shoot for the album cover, and even in the promo of the album.

You know everything he went through just to make it to his success right now. All the hardships, the pain, the tears, the laughter, the love - you've been there every step of the way. You never left him like how he left her.

And on that note, you felt like it's unfair if you get to hear the album first. Yes, you're there throughout the making but you never heard all of it. Harry insisted that you listen to the album after he's done recording it and as much as you'd love to, you politely declined and protested to just hear it along with the rest of the world, to which he agreed to.

There's just this thrill you're looking for, the thrill of having something you've wanted for a long time. The desire. The hunger. The yearn of hearing it for the first time after waiting for endless nights.

It's like being away from Harry and waiting in your room, longing for his touch, his kiss, his voice, and his presence and when he comes back - all of those explodes within you and it leaves you with the magical feeling that you couldn't feel anywhere else.

The process has been painful for you. He recorded in a different country and you had to do long distance again. At first it was fine but as the weeks passed, it got harder and harder for the both of you - being away from each other - so H insisted that you flew across the world to join him.

You didn't hesitate to say yes but even then, Harry always stays at the studio for days and comes home only for him to leave again but you understand. It's his work and you knew what you signed up for when you became his girlfriend and you vowed to yourself to fight and do everything you can for this relationship.

He was great though, took you on dates when he can and tried to spend as much time as he can with you because he knows that after the release of his album, the interviews will surely be nonstop and he'll be away again to plan for his promotional tour. You'd wake up with cute notes more often than not, flowers were also delivered almost everyday to where you two are staying.

But you felt it. You felt that he was slowly slipping away. You know it deep inside but you pretended not to notice. Too afraid of being kicked out of this world you created for the two of you. But perhaps he never really slipped away because maybe he was never truly yours in the first place.

Harry is so excited for you to hear his second baby so when the alarm clock went off, he quickly refreshed the website and played the first song. Golden.

You love the vibe. It's only the first song but you know that it'll be added to your personal playlist to jam with. He was looking at you the whole time, gauging your reaction but stayed quiet. The living room's filled with his voice and the lively instrumentals until the outro.

Maybe you're wrong. Maybe he wasn't slipping away and maybe he was truly yours before - and until now. Maybe it was just your mind playing tricks on you. Maybe, just maybe. A fifty - fifty chance for everything you don't know but you didn't let it eat you.

Next, the Watermelon Sugar. It is the song you knew will be a single and will have a music video. Just because you haven't heard the album before doesn't mean it stops Harry from sharing details here and there to you.

Your thoughts ran wild with thought of what the music video could be. The song is everything and you couldn't stop humming along with it and based on your reactions, he knew that he made the right choice of picking it as a single.

He's still yours. He loves you and he never slipped through your fingertips. You're most likely forcing yourself to believe it and so far it's working but you know you have to talk to Harry about the two of you sooner or later because it's not healthy for your health at all - the uncertainty that's currently laying in your persona.

The next two songs - Adore You and Lights Up - are the one's you've already heard before since those are the two that have a music video that came out before his album. Adore You is your favorite song. You're maybe being biased but the song just gives you great energy and you absolutely adored the concept of the video, as well as Harry's looks.

But the Lights Up hits different. You were there when they shoot it but you were sick so you didn't get go watch how they did it and you remembered watching the video for the first time and getting really really bothered by it that Harry had to take you to the nearest ice cream shop to calm you down. Your boyfriend looked so hot in it.

You're enjoying the album so far and you're almost too sure that nothing is wrong - or so you thought. It's silly but for some reason you felt like your relationship lies on this album.

Cherry came next, before, you thought it's gonna be upbeat like the Watermelon Sugar and Kiwi but oh boy, it's the opposite. It's not only the tune. It's the song itself that made you wanna walk out of the room.

You love songs like this, the type of songs that cuts deep within your soul. The type of song that can make you cry instantly but this is different.

You know the song is about her and if it the lyrics wasn't enough to slap you in the face, the voicemail at the end surely did. But this one hits different. Maybe it's because it shows you that Harry is not entirely yours in your relationship and that something inside him longs wants to have her again and it hurts. It crushes you but you're staying strong because like before, it's not certain - a maybe, there's still a chance and you're clinging into that like your life depends on it.

You couldn't look up. You know Harry is watching you. He tried to hide the outro, he almost clicked the button for the next track but you held your hand as a sign to stop. He couldn't hide it from you. The outro is still ringing in your ears like it's coming to get you. You can't. You just simply can't. Her voice with his giggles made you wonder what's running through his mind when he decided to put the voicemail.

You tried to hold your emotions and waited for the next song to start but it didn't get any better. Falling made your tears fall, finally. And when your boyfriend asked you if you're okay, the only response you told him was that, "you were so good with this it's making me really emotional", and he bought it.

He bought your lie. You don't know if you shall be happy or not. Happy because you wouldn't need to explain yourself further or sad because Harry believed it instantly without even asking if you're really okay for the second time.

The chorus hits different. You're baffled at how much emotion he put in that particular song. It felt so wrong but you couldn't do anything about it. You're sad. You're hurt. You don't know what will happen next. So you did what you do best - pretend that everything is alright.

Your mind was absent through the next two songs - To Be So Lonely and She. You still can't get over from the previous songs and it guilt you that you couldn't appreciate these songs as much as it shall be appreciated. All you know is that if Harry made it, it's fucking incredible.

He did mention to you in a low voice that To Be So Lonely is one of his favorites and oh you fucking wonder why but you didn't say it out loud, you kept quiet and pretended that you're analyzing every second of the song. And when he told you that She could be added to your love-making playlist, you only nodded.

The thought of it being added to your love-making playlist sickens you to the core specially now that you're almost too certain that this one is also about her, though you didn't reprimanded.

You tried to compose yourself along with the next song Sunflower, Vol. 6. You faked being happy just for the sake of this day. Yes, it is a happy and loving song but you couldn't enjoy it without overanalyzing the lyrics and the same goes to the next song Canyon Moon.

Who is the "Sunflower" Harry is referring to? You or her? Who will he be coming home to? Will he come running into your arms or will he seek warm in her presence? You hate to question it and you hate feeling this way but you're far too deep and you just wanted to get this night over.

Treat People with Kindness reminded you of your childhood cartoon theme songs and it eased you out. It also made you smile for the first time since Cherry and you could tell that Harry's relieved. It was the first time you looked up from the carpet and you almost thought that the next song is your saving grace. It's the final song anyway.

And it is. The only problem is that the song is you right now. Fine Line. The chorus kept repeating and it made you question your relationship. Is your relationship a fine line? Will the two of you be alright?

Thank God it's the last song because you couldn't wait to ask Harry something that really bothered you tonight. You need to know for your sake and for the sake of this relationship.

You'll be lying if you said you only shed a tear on the last song. No, you sobbed and Harry tried to console you and asked what's wrong and its now or never.

Harry beat you to speaking first though, he asked you why did you cried and you only told him, "I'm so proud of you and I couldn't stop my tears from flowing and I love you so much.", which is not a lie but not the whole truth either.

He only nodded and kissed your forehead as a way of saying his thanks. You're certain that he can feel that you're tired so he chooses to stay quiet and you know that he's already planning for a day off for the both of you tomorrow so you can properly tell him your thoughts on his album.

You we're about to ask him. Ask him if he still loves her but the tune of his phone ringing made you stop. He silently asked you if it's alright to answer it and you agreed.

The next few minutes was his friends and families calling and congratulating him. You don't wanna be bitter or be a mood disruptor but you just really want to think and be alone right now, after all, you deserved it. You signed Harry that you will go upstairs to take a rest and he whispered "I love you" but you only nodded and started walking to the stairs.

He didn't notice that you didn't say it back. He was too caught up with the people on his screen. His cheerful voice rang throughout the ground floor as he talks to the other person on the other line.

You don't wanna think about it as you lay down on your shared bed but you couldn't stop thinking about how much of a possibility for her to call him to congratulate him for the success of his second album. You couldn't stop thinking of how they might talk about their relationship. You couldn't stop thinking if Harry will ask her to come back if she did call. You couldn't stop thinking.

You took your phone from your beside table to open Twitter. Harry and his album is trending and praises after praises we're posted in different languages but most of those are about them. Harry and her.

You're numb.

It is now clear to you that the whole album is about her. You never asked or wished to have a song written about you but you also never expected him to dedicate the album solely to her, his ex from two years ago. You get it, you really do. The best songs came from the writers' personal experiences but to basically tell the world that he still wants her breaks you into pieces.

There gotta be at least one line about you. You, the one he is with now and not her. You, the one who's loving him now, not her. You, the one who didn't leave him unlike her. It's you and not her.

But no matter how much you repeat it in your mind, you know it's not you. You love Harry and you tried. Tried supporting him through the day much like all the other days but it's so hard when the universe already shot you with the truth.

You're still proud of him, it will never change but you need something. You have to have something to hold on to because right now you're only grasping to this very little hope that might save your relationship. You're proud but hurt and you hate yourself for not being there. None of it is about you. It's about her. Her and him. Her and Harry. Never you and Harry.

He never even warned you that the album is about her, it seems like he wanted to surprise you but you know he's not cruel but maybe you're just trying to defend him from yourself.

Or maybe he didn't thought you'd think this way. After all he doesn't put meanings behind his songs so you couldn't really get any answer from having him explain to you every song.

Your own interpretation's more than enough though. He still wants her. Maybe he did became yours even just for a second but his love for her is eternal and so he slipped away. You couldn't pretend anymore - not now when you're alone and you can show your emotions, so you sobbed.

You cried for you and Harry. You cried for what you thought was something so beautiful and unbreakable. You cried for what would've been a great night for the both of you and last but not the least, you cried for your uncertain tomorrow.

Tomorrow when you wake up, you don't know if Harry still wants you, you don't know if you can fix this, you don't know if you can still be with him.

Now, you realized it. Tomorrow there might be nothing, no world where only the two of you exists because tomorrow might be the end. The thought of that made you cried harder than you already are. It's so unfair. You love him so much but it doesn't seem enough and no matter how many excuses you naïvely say to yourself, you know it couldn't change the fact that it's her and him - it has always been her and him.

You're too tired and just wanted to sleep, hopefully get a clearer view out of all of this when you wake up.

SUGIZO talkes about how he met his friends and why was it important to him now to release a live album

SUGIZO is releasing the first live album in his solo career, 'LIVE IN TOKYO', on September 30th. This work delivers the two day birthday performance 'SUGIZO 聖誕半世紀祭～HALF CENTURY ANNIVERSARY FES.～' that was held last year on July 7th and August 2nd at Nakano Sunplaza, giving you a chance to not only enjoy the live atmosphere but also the magnificent collaboration with his sworn musician friends.

It's a masterpiece I'd love many people to listen to, but it might be surprising to people who only know SUGIZO from LUNA SEA and X JAPAN and not his solo work.

In this interview we will get to the bottom of it, discussing the live album, the foundations of SUGIZO's solo work and his music, and the history with the artists who joined the project.

ー It's the first time in your career you're releasing a live album, which is very unusual now that the video releases are so common. You were that happy with how those 2 days turned out?

I was planning to release a live album from before. I heard from my staff they wanted to release the material from this half century celebration, but because I've released live video works so many times I thought it's time to change my approach.

I feel that young people nowadays are not really familiar with live albums. These times we can easily watch live videos everywhere including YouTube. But back in our childhood the live album from the artist we were indulging in was a real prize. For me it was YMO, JAPAN and PiL. Miles Davids or Frank Zappa also had quite a few live releases. And, Deep Purple or Peter Framptom also had famous live albums, even as I wasn't influenced by them. With such artists, live albums in 70s and 80s were treated as extremely valuable. I have a lot of admiration for those times, so I was hoping to eventually be able do it myself.

－ I see. Before we talk about the content, I wanted to ask you when did you encounter the so called psychodelic trance music that is the foundation of your solo music?

In the mid 90s. First, I was really into hardcore techno or minimal techno in early 90s, speaking of the ambient world like The Orb or 808 STATE, I really love the scene of that time. And few years later, at the same time when I started my solo activity, European drum n bass or abstract hip hop were very popular, I was quite influenced by the club culture and music around then, and then naturally I gave myself to trance.

The first rave I went to see was Vision Quest in 2001, and from then I got even more into it. The feeling of life in the perfectly linked music and the flow of universe, like dancing with the rising sun and chilling in the afternoon, my instincts were telling me that people had a connection with this kind of music from the ancient times. Not the music from the cities, the music with roots in nature. Kind of primitive music. I found great value for music there.

◆Then they discuss JUNO REACTOR, learning what kind of rhythm feels good, how working with a South African percussion team Amampondo helped them grow spiritually, especially thanks to the drummer Mabi, SUGIZO's chase of the 'black groove' to finally understand East has its own good points; he can be proud as Japanese and SUGIZO's solo activity reflects everything he's learnt.

meeting Kyo（DIR EN GREY/sukekiyo)

－ Remarkably for each of two days you invited guest vocalists. All of them are musicians you're very familiar with, could you tell us first about how you got to know Kyo (from DIR EN GREY/sukekiyo)?

From the start I was close with some people they know and their staff members. So I went to see their show and we were introduced. It was surprisingly recently, like around 2005 or 2006.

－ What was your impression when you saw DIR EN GREY for the first time?

It was the first time I felt threatened by a younger band. I'm sorry for saying this, but I haven't felt threatened or impacted by any of the younger artists, within this genre. That's why I was quite surprised with how great they are. What they're expressing, their worldview are incredible. At that time I could feel that their performance or sound are not there yet, but I could already feel the intensity of what was pouring out of them, the endless possibilities.

I was especially looking at Kyo thinking 'he's a genius'. There's no theory or detailed reasoning with him. He's just doing things by instinct. But he's good with words, good at drawing, as an artist he can express himself in so many different ways. Then, when I met him in person he was just so pure and innocent, doesn't it seem like he's not greedy at all? So it was a shock of 'a genius like this exists?'.

－ It was Kyo who wrote the lyrics for your collaboration song 'Zessai', was it a request from you?

Yes. Thinking to sing the best it'd be better if that person writes the lyrics, and when I asked [Kyo] he happily did. When I sent him a 2nd stage Mix demo asking 'it will be like this, what do you think?', he already had the singing (melody) put in. And the lyrics have been done too, when I asked 'woah, that's the actual thing?', he replied 'yup, I've done them'. It's the same with DIR. Thus, he's a genius. When an image comes to his mind he cannot wait. It all felt so fast. He's really a phenomenal creator.

－ How was the performance at the Half Century Anniversary?

I felt he definitely is someone who follows his instincts. When you stand on the stage and things get serious it totally doesn't matter if you're younger or older (as in how long you've been working in a music business). Of course there was no stage fright, I felt as a performer he's just huge, and at the same time it felt like there was mutual respect. It felt like it would be a waste to let it just finish like that. That's why I'm very happy that we can release the collaboration from the stage [on the live album].

◆Next, they talk about TERU and TAKURO (from GLAY), followed by Kiyoharu (I'm skipping here a lot)◆

－Kiyoharu said 'I've performed on various stages so I can't imagine myself losing, but when playing together with SUGIZO the pressure is very different'. Often when two different performers stand on stage together sparks will fly.

The same thing can be said about RYUICHI and SUGIZO, the spark/heat of the collision of a guitarist and a vocalist is often very attractive. In a way there's also the aesthetics of traditional rock, that the combination of Kiyoharu and SUGIZO might be able to embody this spark's attractiveness. That's why the collision on the stage makes me shudder, but also it's possible to blend together. With [the combination of] Kyo and SUGIZO there's no blending together, it feels different. And with TAKURO・TERU we're different type of people. When Kiyoharu is on stage I feel he's the same species as me.

－ It's interesting that the character of all those three groups of musicians is totally different.

That's true. I think it's amazing I could have a line-up like that, it's really by chance that they are my good friends coming from the same genre.

◆they finish the interview talking about the sound and working with Dub Master X, sound mixing for the album, SUGIZO wants the live sound to have intimate, close feeling◆

一 So how was it to complete a live album without compromising on anything?

It's a live album, but it it makes me feel like I was able to create a 'SUGIZO's Best Album'. 2 years I go I released what was meant to be my biggest compilation, but obviously the sound from the studio and from the concert have totally different types of energy. As someone who's been performing on the stage for a very long time, I'm really glad to able to pack that energy for the first time officially on an album. Of course live performance has less precision than the studio album, but performance has way more energy.

Another thing is that as you know it is difficult now to perform due to the pandemic. I haven't played live for half a year, when thinking about it, it's the first time in my music career to not play any shows for this long. That's why I'm really yearning for the stage performance, the live show. When I was still doing them it was something obvious, but now that I can't, making this album made me keenly aware how important concerts are in my life and how much I need them; and to tell the truth working on this live album was like saving myself in a way. Obviously a live album can't rival the real thing. Not even a live dvd nor a live stream can match the excitement of being there [at the show], but I worked on this album hoping to let you feel at least some percent of that feeling. At any rate, I'm really grateful to be able to create a work like a live album that inspired me so much as a child.

(which was great btw!!!!! it was just all around so much fun and the energy was great and i'm so so proud of my best friend and i love her boyfriend too and i got to see my best friends mom again (who is kind of my mom too :p) andddd i also got to flirt a lil with someone i've been crushing on for 4everrrr and i just send her a text asking her if she wanted to have a drink some time soon and she said yes :) we went home kinda early bc my date was tired and had to drive still)

we finally decided on going to his place after i said i wanted to cuddle and asked if he would like that too and he said yes (he's like, either really indecisive or just extremely respectful and only wants to take things a bit further if i ask him which is really scary??? but also fun!!! bc i've called every shot so far and my self esteem is liking it) so i decided we would go to his place bc he's allergic to rabbits :)))))))))

on the way back i asked if there would be something to eat at his place bc i always need to eat after drinking beer (somehow????) and he decided he wanted to get some chips around the corner of his place. So we ate on the couch and he showed me around (his place is really really beautiful, there's a lot of interesting stuff going on there too!!!! grabbed me some great stickers), he made me some tea which was really nice :)

We were really tired and i asked him if he wanted to cuddle and he said yes again. we both couldn't sleep (i asked him if he couldn't sleep too and he said that that was how it was supposed to be which made me laugh) so we talked some more and cuddled and i luckily got a couple hours of sleep. when i woke up it was really early and we cuddled some more and he told me he basically didn't sleep and i asked him if my feet were annoying him and he said no and i explained to him that when i like something a lot i wriggle my toes around and sometimes i rub my feet together too and he smiled :) and in the morning he made me a vegan full english breakfast, i did the dishes then we decided we wanted to lay in bed and cuddle some more and talked more, we talked about relationships too and how we liked things to be (we're both probably non monogamous and he likes his alone time and is really busy with cool things and i'm, i'm just rediscovering who i am and i need a lot of alone time for that too and defs not a fulltime relationship), he also told me he was putting off installing these fancy blinds for months now so i was like, let's just do that then so we did and it could have been really stressful but it wasn't?? it actually was a 50/50 job :) he lend me a book he really enjoyed and wanted me to read and he showed me the cassettes he made and this album with a pic of him when he was a little punk and it was just adorable and then we decided we wanted to have some nasty sparkly wine drinks in the sun while talking more :) which we did on the way of parking his car in a safe spot and me going home. now i'm home and gerrie flopped down between my feet and is having some good rabbit dreams. fun fact i'm wearing his underwear bc i did not plan on sleeping at his place and it's really comfortable and i think i might try to figure out where he got them so i can get myself some. i feel so much freedom to be myself right now.
