As the evening settled in, Y/N and Chris lay side by side on their bed. The room was cozy, filled with the scent of lavender from the diffuser, and the soft glow of fairy lights strung above their heads added a magical touch to the atmosphere - something that Y/N added after moving in. Y/N, nestled comfortably under the blankets, held her beloved stuffed bear close to her chest.

Chris glanced over at her, a tender smile playing on his lips. He had grown accustomed to Y/N's nightly ritual of clutching her bear for comfort. It was one of the many quirks he adored about her. He reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair away from her face.

"Ready for bed, babe?" He asked softly, his voice a gentle murmur in the quiet room.

Y/N nodded, her eyes already heavy with sleep.

"Yeah." She replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "Mr. Bear is, too."

Chris chuckled softly, the sound warm and comforting.

"I know." He said, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. "I'm sure of it, Mr. Bear can't sleep without you, right?"

She smiled, a soft, sleepy smile that made Chris's heart swell with affection, her head nodding slightly. He loved these moments, the quiet intimacy of their nightly routine. He watched as Y/N settled deeper into the pillows, her arms wrapped securely around her stuffed bear.

Chris turned off the bedside lamp, plunging the room into a gentle darkness illuminated only by the soft glow of the fairy lights. He shifted closer to Y/N, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her gently against his chest. Her back pressed against him, fitting perfectly into the curve of his body.

"Goodnight, dove." He whispered into her hair, his breath warm against her skin.

"Goodnight, Chris." She murmured in response, her voice filled with contentment.

Chris closed his eyes, feeling the steady rise and fall of Y/N's breath against him. He listened to the soft, rhythmic sound of her breathing, a soothing lullaby that eased him into sleep, his hand brushing against the soft fur of her stuffed bear.

The night was quiet, the soft hum of the air conditioner, the only sound in the cozy bedroom. Y/N nestled herself deeper into the plush comforter, feeling the familiar and reassuring presence of her stuffed bear, Mr. Fluffy, tucked under her arm. The bear’s worn fur and slightly crooked smile always brought her comfort, a piece of her childhood that had traveled with her into adulthood. Beside her, Matt was already in bed, his own stuffed bear, Mr. Wrinkleton, nestled securely in his arms.

"Ready for bed?" Matt asked, his voice a gentle murmur in the dim light. He turned to look at her, his eyes soft with affection.

"Almost." Y/N replied, adjusting Mr. Fluffy, so he was perfectly positioned. She smiled at the sight of Matt cuddling Mr. Wrinkleton, a sight she had grown to adore.

Matt chuckled, the sound warm and loving.

"You know, I think Mr. Wrinkleton and Mr. Fluffy has become best friends."

Y/N giggled, the sound light and airy.

"I think you're right. They probably have their own little adventures when we're not looking."

"Maybe they have tea parties." Matt suggested, his tone playful, a wide smile resting on his face, showing his pearly teeth proudly.

"Or go on secret missions." Y/N added, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

They shared a laugh, the room filled with a sense of warmth and security. Matt reached over, brushing a stray strand of hair from Y/N’s face.

"I love you, you know that, sweetheart?"

"I love you too." She replied, her heart swelling with happiness.

Matt shifted closer, his arm wrapping around her waist, pulling her and Mr. Fluffy closer. Y/N snuggled into his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. She could feel the soft fur of Mr. Wrinkleton against her skin.

"Goodnight, petal." Matt whispered, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.

"Goodnight, Matt." She replied, her eyes fluttering shut.

I came from the era of tumblr and fanfic where EVERYONE was writing imagines so this is sort of in the same breath…

Karlach / Shadowheart / Lae’zel / Wyll / Astarion / Gale / Halsin / 18+ though there’s not a ton of mention of spice

Karlach

She loves to touch you, any way she can. Holding your hand, playing with your hair, carrying you around… as long as she can feel you, she is content.

In camp, you sit in her lap as you eat and wind down from adventures, and strong, gentle hands run over your body… not in a lustful way — not usually — just adoring you.

Thought sometimes, she’ll slip her hand under your bed shirt, clawed fingers gently tracing over your side until you gasp and excuse yourself for bed…which Karlach eagerly follows.

Laezel

Lae’zel has never been fond of public displays of her affections; but alone? She loves to kiss you, to feel your hot breath against her face before your lips meet, fingers tangling through hair…

You feel lucky and privileged to see this tender side of her. The soft pecks in the mornings are just as special, as the two awaken from sleepy hazes, lazily smiles on your faces. She presses tender kisses over your neck and shoulders…occasionally, trailing down your chest, over your thighs… she loves your fingers tugging her hair, the way her name falls from your lips.

Shadowheart

(I apologize as she’s my baby girl but also the only one I haven’t seen a ton of romance stuff for but I tried with what I know!)

Whenever you hand Shadowheart a flower? Her heart skips a beat, cheeks instantly flush…simple gestures like that; a kiss given, a hand squeezed, all make her once dark heart flutter. She loves to be doted on, to know she’s utterly adored by her lover. Of course…she loves to dote on you too.

Quality time is important to her, she takes you on dates or private walks all the time…and sometimes? She takes you in the bushes.

Wyll

There is nothing he loves more than singing to you; more specifically? Writing songs for you…of course, he writes you sweet letters all the time, doting and adoring…but his songs? They’re always full of passion, something you can both dance to. He twirls you around the campsite, humming as he beams at you…eyes full of utter devotion.

He loves to pull you apart with his tongue, with his sweet words, and sometimes settled with your legs over his shoulders…

Astarion

He loves to praise you, to absolutely worship the ground beneath your feet. No god could ever compare to his love… Not that he’d really ever tell you that, of course. But it’s clear in his affectionate touches, the way he dotes over you. You are his world.

Of course, that extends to the bedroom. To be able to bring you to bliss; to have the choice? It’s everything to him…and he definitely doesn’t mind when you return the favour.

Gale

He loves to give things to you. Grand displays of affection are a daily occurrence with him. Bouquets of flowers too big to hold, a (magic) luxurious bed after a particularly rough day, cooking extravagant meals - when the only ingredients left /aren’t/ a single mushroom and an apple.

When you move in to his tower in Waterdeep? he takes you shopping, making the tower just as much yours as it is his, buying you extravagant outfits and trinkets and anything your heart desires; all while reminding you that you are worth far more than he could ever give you.

Of course, you give him plenty in return…

Halsin

You are sure no one on this earth could be more affectionate than Halsin. He loves to bask in the sunshine with you, often lazing around as a bear…enjoying just being with you. He loves showing you new things, teaching you and even learning with you… you bring light into his once shadowed head.

Though, there is nothing he loves more than a good old romp in the grass with you.

This was interesting, because I had to go with my gut feeling in the moment, but I reckon the contents of this list could easily change at any given time depending on my mood.

1) Revival

Summary: Loki and Mobius take what amounts to a vacation, whilst Loki recovers from his harrowing experience of babysitting the multiverse.

This began as a single-chapter ficlet to fill an ask game prompt. Later, I decided to revisit this version of Loki and Mobius to fill a bingo prompt in ch 2, then a random computer-generated prompt I had in my ideas doc for a 3rd and final chapter. Apart from a little Loki-whump in ch 2, it’s generally a sweet, soft and cozy pre-romance, and very cathartic to write.

2) Within

Summary: Loki and Mobius are marooned on a volcanic nightmare of a world, their survival depending solely on Loki's tenacity.

Part of my ‘Patience-verse’ series, this fic contains some of my favourite tropes, such as ‘trapped together in danger’, ‘magical drain/depletion’ and ‘the power of love’. Also a little twist of UST/URT — gummy bear feeding, my beloved! 😆

3) Sleepless

Summary: Mobius and Loki get stuck in a broken elevator for hours, and as a result Mobius discovers what's been bothering the object of his (as yet unspoken) affection.

Also a part of ‘Patience-verse’, and it’s such a trope-y scenario, you’ve gotta love it. I mean, that was the whole point of the original fic that spawned this series, after all. Basically, my reason for choosing this is not just because I’m absolutely feral for exhausted!Loki and sleepy cuddles, but also because I can’t believe I was able to write 3k+ words about Lokius in a lift. 🤷‍♀️

4) Apokruptein

Summary: A curiosity on an unknown world hurtles Loki and Mobius into peril.

A double bingo prompt-fill for ‘Forest’ and ‘Cursed object/artefact’. This 4-chapter fic is not really my best writing, but it’s the only time so far I’ve gone all-out with a full on adventure style fic, with a little worldbuilding/backstory, a lot of whump, and the lovely trope ‘temporary amnesia’ to boot. I worked really hard on the conception of this one, and I’m pretty proud of it.

5) I’ve lumped together two ficlets for my #5 spot, because they’re both similar in that they are absolutely NOT anything near what I would usually write.

a) Sit Tempus

Summary: Furnishing their new apartment, the last thing on Loki and Mobius’ list is a decent couch.

An idea that popped into my head during a boring drive home… and I wrote, edited and posted the whole thing in one night. 😏 My only ‘established relationship’ fic to date (watch this space.. 👀), although nothing remotely spicy, I should add. Just pure cute fluff, and a very vague S2 fix-it.

b) Unexpectedly You

Summary: A kindness from Loki for a mutual friend causes Mobius to have a ‘Moment’.

Terrible summary, but it’s another little ask game prompt fill, so nothing much happens in it at all. A lot of people seemed to like this one, which kinda made me like it more too. 🤣 It’s simply Loki being a sweetheart, and Mobius being proud of him. 🥹

I also wanted to add two honourable mentions for Reach (Loki/Star Wars crossover) and Reset (Loki/Red Dwarf crossover). I never in a million years thought I’d be capable of writing ONE passable crossover fic, let alone two… so the fact I managed it makes me super proud, even if they’re ludicrously niche.

Herald of Desna: The Night Monarch

Chaotic Good Huge Outsider

It's fitting that one of the most alien of the Inner Sea Gods has a Herald that is similarly alien. There is a communication barrier a mile high between the mysterious Night Monarch and the mortal worshipers of Desna, goddess of dreams and travelers (and perhaps the Monarch's literal mother), so much so that it actually prefers to speak via dreams instead of trying to translate its bizarre thought processes into something a mortal can understand. Though it's capable of communing telepathically with any creature it's physically touching, its speech patterns are so riddled with confusing parables, non-sequiturs, or repetitive statements that it can feel almost like a psychic attack to creatures that aren't prepared for it or inclined to trust the monstrous moth. A dreaming mind can more easily handle the message of the Night Monarch and think down the same bizarre paths it does; in fact, it's easy to believe the Night Monarch is always dreaming, which is why it's so disorienting to commune with while awake (or sober).

As such, the Night Monarch is often used by Desna as either a steed for her greatest worshipers or something of a relay station, as it's capable of using Dream at-will to pass her messages down to her mortal followers when she, for whatever reason, cannot do so herself. The majority of time it spends on the Material Plane, the Monarch is parked on a moonlit perch and sending out its master's messages as moths of every species gather up and alight on it, still as a statue until it wishes to return to space and dance among the moon and stars. When it serves as a steed, it can do so through a wide variety of environments, even the cold vacuum; the Monarch requires no air, is immune to Cold, and conveys the same immunity to any creatures riding it. Despite its lithe frame it can bear a surprising amount of weight (up to 8 Medium creatures) as well!

It may be obvious at this pint, but the Night Monarch is not equipped for direct combat, existing as one of many 'support' Heralds meant to deliver messages, guide champions to their destination, or offer restorative magic when it's needed most. It's not meant to fight on its own, preferring to either battle alongside a martial champion of Desna or, more commonly, avoid fighting altogether, and it's got quite a few ways to do that...

To begin, a combat with the Monarch may end with a single anticlimactic action. Once every 1d4 rounds as a full-round action, it can flap its wings to blast a 30ft sphere around it with Dream Dust, putting everyone and everything that fails a DC 25 Will save to sleep for upwards to 15 minutes. This Dream Dust has multiple functions for the Monarch beyond giving it an opening in combat, allowing it to pacify creatures it has no quarrel with, knock someone out so it can use Dream on them and establish proper communication, or even just keep someone rested despite stress or circumstance as it ferries them to their next destination. Or, well, give the real fighters an opportunity to coup de grace the victims of the sleepy scales.

This isn't the Monarch's only way to knock out multiple foes at once, either, it's got Hypnotic Pattern at will to daze whole crowds at a time, allowing either itself or its wards peaceful passage with as little bloodshed as possible. It also has a sticky breath weapon it can use every 1d4 rounds, spraying globs of glittering webbing at everything in a 30ft cone and entangling any creature that fails a DC 25 Reflex save. This slime rapidly wraps up any creature it sticks to, requiring no anchor points like a normal web and even tying up foes that are in mid-air, potentially sending them plummeting to the ground if they rely on their limbs to fly.

Once its enemies are hypnotized, in dreamland, or glued to the floor, the Night Monarch can flutter in and begin its work: Providing aid. This moth can gnaw through the threads of just about any debilitating magic, having Break Enchantment, Remove Curse, Remove Paralysis, AND Remove Fear all at 3/day, with Greater Dispel Magic waiting in the wings as backup. Many heroes past and present have fallen to mind-controlling or mood-altering magics, but the Night Monarch can safely restrain or daze anyone addled by such wicked spells and free them. Once the foul magic has been scraped away, the Monarch can use an at-will Cure Serious Wounds to prop them and their victims back to full health and can bless the victim with Freedom of Movement to let them wiggle from the web with little issue. As it can cast FoM at will, there's little reason for it to ever let the effect expire on itself, making the Monarch immune to being entangled, paralyzed, or grappled.

Instead of having the powerhouse that is Heal at 1/day, it has Regenerate, a spell it presumably casts by spinning its target into an ethereal cocoon and allowing them to emerge only once they've fully recovered. That's how my weird moth does it, anyway. More mundanely, the Monarch also has +22 to Heal checks when its magic is no good against whatever impediment is affecting its charge... and if the injury is far more esoteric, remember that it not only has Dream at-will, but Dream can affect another creature the caster is touching, allowing it to send an ally of the afflicted victim into their dreaming mind. Yes, I am aware that's not how the spell works, but the Monarch can already cast Plane Shift on itself and any number of willing targets 3/day AND it serves a goddess with dominion over dreams, so who's to say the DM can't rule it CAN send the party into someone's mind? Maybe even the mind of another party member?

If a DM is futzing with the Monarch's statblock to allow for such things, I can make a few recommendations to go even further: The Night Monarch has sired a whole race of cosmic moths known as Star Monarchs, who possess powers that their parent for some reason does not, like the ability to protect sleeping creatures with a magic aura... And, most jarringly, Starflight. WHY the Night Monarch doesn't have Starflight is just another petty grievance I have (alongside the fact that multiple Heralds have their 3.5 stats listed on the Archives of Nethys as their only stats, rather than their updated stats presented in Inner Sea Gods).

You'll notice I haven't covered much in the way of the Monarch's ability to cause pain, and that's because it doesn't have much. It's among the least martially-inclined of all Heralds, having two claws (2d6+7) and two wings (2d6+3) and nothing else to actually fight. It CAN do some amusing things with its Snatch feat, allowing it to Grab anything it hits with its claws and ferry them around or even throw them in whatever direction it desires, but ultimately as I mentioned before, it seeks to end fights peacefully and without bloodshed more often than not... unless, of course, you're working with the Gossamer King, at which point you're likely going to be put to sleep and torn apart before you ever wake back up again. Ironically, Desna appears to have learned from numerous clashes with the blood-sucking fiend; the Night Monarch and all Star Monarchs are violently poisonous, afflicting any creature that eats their flesh or drinks their blood with a toxin that deals 1d6 Con damage a round for up to 6 rounds and requires a DC 20 Fortitude save to be made to resist... which attackers take a -4 to saves against.

The Night Monarch, more than most Heralds, acts as a plot device for the party to utilize more than an opponent to face. Its numerous curative spells, ability to carry parties across the planes or into space, and ability to send messages into their dreams make it more of a literal herald than nearly any other Herald currently statted out. Something to let you know that the Song of the Spheres is watching over you... or, if you're in an Evil campaign, a pain in the ass as it improves the health and morale of the people you're trying to kill.

Literally just me gushing about my husband but oh my god I love him so much

My husband never misses a chance to tell me how much he loves my autism and it's literally the sweetest thing ever. We both have autism, and of course I love his autism so much too, it's part of what makes him HIM! but our experience with autism is very different. I have significantly higher support needs than him and I'm much more visibly autistic than he is. I've experienced a lot of judgement, shame, infantilization, etc. because of my autism but my hubby always tells me how much he loves my autism and it's so gotdamn sweet it, I have to stim so much every single time.

When I'm flapping my hands he tells me that I'm like a bat (my favourite animal and a regulatory interest). He's offered to wrap me in a blanket and lay on me for deep pressure. I talk like a lil goblin when I'm super happy and he'll always say "I love how when you're really happy you become a goblin! It's so cute". If I'm having a hard time he'll use his patent pending method of calming me down and brag about how he has a magic calming spell. He'll help me vocally stim by saying some of my vocal stims and I'll repeat them until I'm giggling uncontrollably. He tells me how he loves all of my stims. I say "shake shake shake" sometimes when I'm shaking my whole body and he'll tell me "I love the shake shake shake". He's beyond respectful of my touch aversion, I remember he'd reiterated about a million times that all of our hugs will be big tight bear hugs! I can't talk right now because verbal communication is really hard? He'll always remind me that it's okay. I'm overwhelmed? He'll remind me to cuddle my special stuffies, to stim, he'll send me cute videos that he knows will make me so happy and stimmy. He loves my stuffies. He loves my service dog. He loves listening to me talk about my regulatory interests. He'll get me started talking on an interest of mine when he's sleepy just to hear me talk about it. He'll offer to get a meal he knows I'll like when I'm trying something new just in case I can't eat it. On that point: he's an insanely adventurous eater and will try almost anything but he's never even once judged me for being a "picky eater" and he'll even tell me how cute he thinks it is that he's so adventurous and I'm so picky. He'll tell me that he likes how clearly I speak even tho tons of people judge me for being pedantic. Sure he'll poke fun if I misspeak but immediately after tell me how cute it is. He appreciates my perspective on things as someone with higher support needs than him. He likes listening to my perspective. He's beyond willing, and sees it as an act of love, to do tasks that I can't. He never questions why something is upsetting to me except to prevent it from happening again. He's never viewed me any different or treated me any different because of my autism. He's never infantilized me, never acted like our relationship was less full and developed and adult than any other just because of my/our autism. Even with things like my love of stuffies or other "immature" interests of mine he's never, ever, even once implied that it made me childish.

in the cozy warmth of the living room, the soft glow of early evening light streams through the window. it’s a sunday, & everyone except for harper & mommy have left their house for the day. harper rubs her eyes, just waking up from a nap in search of sam. her favorite brown teddy bear, named stuffy, peeks out from the front of her shirt, its little head bobbing as she shuffles into the room. she giggles softly at the way it feels, the warmth of her stuffed friend pressing against her tummy, comforting her.

wearing her soft, fuzzy socks that slide across the floor, she clutches her beloved pink blanket in her other hand. it trails behind her on the floor, but she doesn’t mind it. as she wanders into the living room, she spots sam sitting on the couch. sam always looks so cool & friendly, like someone who can do anything.

“hi, mommy. i’m awake,” she greets, moving towards the couch. “what are we doing for the rest of the evenimg?”
