A strange moment in Disney history happened when Hasbro released a tie in toy version of Flubber for the sequel to the 60s Absent Minded Professor. The toy Flubber caused rashes, so Hasbro recalled and tried everything to destroy it. But according to legend, nothing worked so they buried it under one of their warehouses. There's no proof, but I find this story to be a weird moment in Disney history, and very similar to the 50s movie The Blob.
