the one in which spencer didn’t tell you about meeting his ex
genre: angst, fluff
warnings: silly spencer, silly reader but happy ending because i’m too soft for this
a/n: i just saw that video with mgg and his ex and got sad. honestly thought i just want him to be happy with whomever
“I don’t think that’s fair”
You stand in front of your boyfriend, trying your best to understand why he acts the way he does. Although, it’s been almost twenty minutes since you started this conversation. Annoyance mixed with pain and confusion are spreading through your chest like ivy.
“What do you mean it’s not fair?”
Spencer looks bewildered. As if you aren’t speaking the same language he does. As if he doesn’t understand how his actions make you feel.
“I mean what I said, Spencer. You are not being fair” you grit through your teeth.
Deep breaths. You try to look at the clouds through the kitchen window; soft and white they are drifting in the sky. Look anywhere but his face because you are sure you will start crying pretty soon.
“I just went for a coffee with friends”
You leave an exasperated sigh, almost choking on it. The way he said it so nonchalantly and simply it breaks your heart. Your eyes search his face for any sign of delusion.
“She is not just a friend Spencer. You dated for three years. You wanted to propose!”
“I didn’t plan to see her that day. She just joined us for a coffee. I don’t understand why you are getting so angry about it.”
Because he didn’t tell you. Because he came home after work acting as if nothing happened. Because you love him so much sometimes it scares you. The fact that he loved his ex enough to propose makes something small and ugly churn at the pit of your stomach.
“Im not angry. Im upset because I found out about this from Penelope and-”
“Your face is flushed, nostrils flared and you are clenching your fists. You are clearly angry”
“Don’t profile me!”
“Technically, it’s not profiling since you are not a criminal and you didn’t commit any-“
He’s rambling with his brows stitched together. His hands are moving as if he’s explaining something so simple only you can’t understand. You can hear ringing in your ears. It’s getting harder to breathe.
“No, stop it. I can’t talk to you anymore”
You dismiss him and bolt towards your bedroom. His bedroom. You shut the door and let your body collapse on the floor. With your knees pressed tight to your chest and your back pressed to the wooden floor you finally let yourself cry. For some reason, it was always difficult for you to cry in front of Spencer when you were arguing. You would feel defeated. Now, hot tears are streaming down your cheeks as you think about the conversation you had earlier in your relationship. How he was in love with his ex girlfriend and how he even bought the ring. How she broke his heart by the phone. How he was scared to fall in love again because of how damaging the whole experience was for him. How he struggled to open up. You wipe your wet face when you hear a hesitant knock.
“Hey…Can we talk?”
Spencer’s voice is soft and full of warmth and you just hate the way he affects you. The way he makes your heart jump out of your chest, beat rhythmically with his own, squeeze so tightly it hurts.
“Depends” you sniff.
“I apologise”
You stand up and open the door. Even though you try your best to look cold and distant, you look wounded and lost.
“Oh, angel..”
You can see his hand twitch at the sight of your red eyes.
“You should have told me”
“I know. I panicked. I honestly didn’t know she would want to sit with us and then Derek-“
“But you understand why I’m upset?”
His eyes are big brown circles. Like a deer in the field he is watching you.
“I think?”
“Spence, you were so in love you wanted to get married. The fact that you tried to hide that you met up with her is so…painful”
Vision is getting blurry and you start blinking rapidly. Spencer just stares at you. Silence is so loud you can’t bear it.
“You think I have feelings for her”
He finally speaks. You don’t say anything because you’re not sure. Do you? Your gaze falls to the ground. Spencer makes a step towards you. His big palms reach behind your back. Your face is pressed to his chest and you feel helpless.
“I’m so sorry, angel. There’s no one else but you. You know that. I need you to know that. I love you so much. Please, tell me you know that. The only reason I didn’t tell you is because I didn’t want to upset you and I understand now that I was wrong and stupid and you deserved to know”
Spencer kisses the top of your head and rubs your back.
“Nothing happened. I swear. Derek and Penelope were there and they can confirm that. She just joined us for a coffee and left. Please, forgive me for not telling you straight away”
He pulls away to take a look at you. You know he is telling the truth. You know that there’s a part of you that feels a little insecure but that’s not his fault. Spencer never did anything to make you doubt him. He was always so caring and loving and attentive that it’s easy for you to believe that he just wanted to protect your feelings.
“You are the only one I want”
He kisses your forehead and you melt. More tears are pouring down your face but mostly because of how overwhelmed you feel. How much love and even relief you feel after his words. Spencer brushes the tears away with his thumbs.
“Please, don’t cry. I don’t know what else to do. If you want me-“
“No, I believe you. I just…I love you so much it’s scary sometimes”
Spencer smiles and plants a sweet kiss on your lips.
“I know exactly how you feel”
You pull him into another kiss. A more sensual one. The desperation and need to feel him right now is so intense you just want to drown in him. Good thing that he indulges you.

Summary: When Penelope met Y/n in a coffeehouse and saw how similar her and Spencer were she just had to set them up
posted: July 29, 2024
Penelope was on her way to work when she stopped at the local coffeehouse. She was in line when she saw you waiting for your drink she made a mental note to compliment your shoes. They were dark red pumps and she always wanted a pair.
______
She came over to wait for her drink and she was by you. “I love your pumps.” You look at her. “Oh thank you. I love your outfit.”
“Thank you. I’m Penelope.” She held her hand out for you to shake. You shook your head. “Oh I don’t shake hands, there is so many germs in shaking hands and fun fact it’s actually safer to kiss.” Her jaw dropped. “Oh my god! My co worker is just like that. He has this whole thing with germs and he always says that same exact fact.” She saw your tag for the college down the street from the BAU. “What do you teach?”
“Oh criminology and forensic psychology.”
“Wow I actually work with profilers.” You looked shocked. “Oh my gosh that’s so cool!” You guys talked and talked and she found out that you have three PhDs and the same exact interests.
“My co worker also has three! You guys are just alike. And one more question you look a little young to be a professor how old are you?”
You smiled. “I’m 37 and I started young I graduated high school at 12 and finished college at 16 and all the other stuff when I was 24.” Penelope was shocked at how similar you guys are. She’s big on soulmates and she thinks she just found Spencer’s.
“Y/n!”
“Oh that’s me bye Penelope here’s my card it’s my phone number so just send a text.” You smiled at her and got your coffee and left.
______
“Where’s Spencer?!” Derek looked at the blonde woman shaking with excitement. “Why do you need Spencer?”
“I just met his soulmate!” As she was saying this Spencer came in. “What?” She turned around. “Spencer I just met your soulmate. You have to meet her! She has three phds, loves doctor who, same age and she teaches what we do!”
“Pen you know I’m not dating anymore.” He said while walking away to get his coffee. After Maeve and Cat he can’t fall in love without something going wrong. Pen was hot on his trail. “But you would love her! And she likes her coffee the same exact way! I know I tried it and almost went into a diabetic coma.” Spencer turned around.
“I’m not interested..”
______
“Hey Y/n!” You and Pen were waiting for their coffees after a few conversations they considered each other friends. “Hey Pen!”
“I tried to set you up with my co worker but-.”
“What?! Pen I’m not looking for anyone right now.” Penelope nodded. “But you would love him! He is exactly your type.”
“Pen I’m not interested.”
______
After Pen left with her coffee. You noticed she dropped her id for the FBI. You picked it up and followed her trail. You got a visitor pass and went into the BAU. You saw an attractive tall brunette hair man. “Um hi do you know where Penelope is? She left her id.” Spencer saw you and everything around him stopped. You were absolutely gorgeous even though he had no idea who you were it didn’t matter because you are breathtaking.
“Yea she’s down the hall to the right.” You nodded and went to the room and knocked. “Come in to the dungeon my dear!” You came in. “Hey Pen you left your id.”
“Oh my thank you! I didn’t notice they just let me in. So don’t you have a class?” You shook your head. “It’s an afternoon class and I already planned for it.” You shrugged. “But you have a very attractive co worker.” Her eyes widened. “Which one they are all very attractive.”
“He’s tall, had long brown hair, facial hair, and brown eyes.” She squealed which made you jump. “That’s Spencer! I told you he’s your type!”
“That was Spencer?! I was not at all expecting him to look like that.” She grabbed your hands.
“Oh Y/n pleaseeee let me set you up. I promise you will love him. And he will love you.” After much convincing you nodded and Penelope cried with delight. “You guys are going to have attractive and smart children. Oh my god! Name one of them Penelope. He wants four kids anyway!”
What did you get yourself into?
______
As you were in Penelope’s office, Spencer was talking to Derek about Penelope’s friend. “She was beautiful! And she works at the college down the street because I saw her id. Y/n L/n even her name is beautiful-.” As he was ranting you came out to go to work. “Well bye everyone it was nice meeting you.” You noticed Derek. “Oh hi I’m Y/n.”
“Derek.” He held his hand out to shake. “Oh I don’t shake hands because of all the germs you know it’s actually safer to kiss.” Derek’s eyebrows raised. “Wow Spence you say the same thing!” You just smile. “Well I have to go to work.”
“Um what do you teach? I saw your id.” Spencer asked. “Criminology and forensic psychology.” His eyes widened.
“So you teach what we do.” He smiled. “Yea I guess I do.” You smile back.
“So professor L/n.” Derek added.
“Dr. L/n actually.” You corrected him. Spencer eyes widened even more. “You have a phd?”
“Three actually.” Derek smiled. “Spence also has three.”
“Yea Penelope told me when we first met.”
Then it came to him you are the person Penelope wanted to set him up with. You checked your watch. “I really have to go.”
“Yea I’ll walk you out.” Spencer said while rushing to your side. After you left Spencer darted to Penelope’s office.
“Pen! Was that the girl you want to set me up with?!”
“Yea why?”
“I’m free on Saturday so can you text her that please?” Penelope never been happier. “Yes of course!”
Her plan worked. She purposely left her id so Y/n can get and bring it. And it worked!
Soon Dr. L/n will become Dr. Reid.
An: HOPED YOU ENJOYED MY LOVERS 🤍

I’m in my Colin feels again (I mean I always am but this time it’s too much and I must get it out) so buckle up, grab some tea and biscuits, and maybe some tissues depending on if I can get this written correctly.
I know people wish Colin would have suffered more before Pen forgave him but this man was suffering long before we saw him on screen flirting with the debutants on the street. Colin spent the whole of his four month tour missing Penelope and then kept missing her up until their reconciliation. In his own words he spent his whole tour yearning to receive word from home, from Penelope, in fact. We all know he missed her more than he let on initially and baby boy was desperate to hear from her. He surely cannot think of a logical reason for her silence. Their last (known to him) exchange was shared affirmations during their romantic platonic dance. I wish we would have gotten some sort of screen time of him whilst on his travels to get a little more depth of his spiraling from the loss of her letters that leads to his fake persona but I digress. He comes home and tries to get back on track with her only to receive many a cold shoulder from Pen, first at the garden party, and then at Lady Danbury’s ball where he finally learns of the reason for her silence. He is desperate to get back in her good graces and wasted no time with his apology (the next morning, he obviously couldn’t sleep).
He then finds a way to make up for his callous remark (we’ve all read the words enough and frankly I do not wish to repeat them) in the form of helping Pen find a husband.
Only, this doesn’t help with his missing her. They get to spend more time flirting laughing together like they used to. But there is also the ticking clock running down the time they will have together. Yes, he is dumb when it comes to Penelope, but not too dim witted to not realize that as soon as she is married, things will not be the same as it had been in the past. We see him start to realize this more at the Full Moon Ball. As soon as she starts interacting with Lord Basilio and Remington, yes he gets jealous, but there’s more to it. He’s getting a glimpse of how things will be when he’s not the one she gossips with or spends time with. He’s missing her before she is even wed.
And then the kiss happens.
And she gives him up while he realizes what he has truly been missing and why he missed her so deeply when she didn’t respond to his letters and he will continue to miss her because she is looking for a husband that is not him.
Then we have proper yearning while he watches her with Debling and it is eating him alive. He is trying to accept letting her go and he becomes a shell of a man in the process. He needs his Pen. Thankfully, Mama Bridgerton talked him out of his stupor and prompted him to act.
He professes his feelings for Pen and admits that he prefers sleep because that is where he might find her. He has been following her request for distance (kind of, sort of, maybe) since the willow tree. He follows her around like the golden retriever boy he is because he will take any interaction possible, even if he has to hear her talk about how Debling is not displeasing to look at. He misses her so entirely that he will take any form of Pen he can get. Even the non tangible, dream version of her. Because up until he crashed Debling’s proposal, he thought that was going to be the future extent of Pen he would have. But now he has told her how he feels and she wants to be so much more than friends.
He thinks he doesn’t have to miss her anymore. She’s going to be his wife.
But things still aren’t right between them. Colin is the king of reading Pen (well most of the time, boy still doesn’t realize she loves him). She’s high strung and not as open as he is used to her being. He is still missing her.
He finds out the reason is Whistledown and suddenly he’s missing the idea of her he had in his head. He thinks he doesn’t know her and he is also worried about the possibility of losing her if she is found out. Again, missing her before she is gone. She gives him an out from marrying her which he, rather harshly, puts down. He is upset, rightly so, but he cannot imagine not being with her. He knows what life is like without her in it and he cannot, will not, does not want to let that happen again.
We then have the fight outside the modiste and he is able to somewhat reconcile the two women he thought were separate. The wedding happens and for a moment, they are together, and nothing else matters.
But the moment is ruined when the Queen crashes their dance, and now the very real fear for her safety is again taking precedence.
He separates himself from her physically and a bit emotionally yet he still misses her. Colin could have slept anywhere in their apartment but chose the very uncomfortable settee right outside their room so he could be close. It is just as hard on him to not be near or with her as is it for Pen to not be with him. He is yearning for her but WD is still looming over them.
Then there is Cressida. Another thing that can take Penelope away from him. We finally see him admit how much he longed to hear from Penelope. The “I miss you” from the Four Seasons Ball was over shadowed by his rake fake persona and I fear it hasn’t been taken seriously enough. He did miss her, he wasn’t just saying it to get into her good graces.
I think when he tells Cressida he longed to hear from Penelope, he remembers why she didn’t respond. It is because he hurt her. This is another step in moving forward through the WD issue. He understands they have both unfortunately hurt each other. I think this makes it easier for him to forgive her (along with the argument outside the modiste) for the hurt she has caused him.
He then royally screws up appealing to Cressida. It breaks my heart watching our teary eyed boy admit his failure but Pen is not angry with him. She sees him trying and loves him all the more for it. He’s starting to see her in her entirety, starting to understand her reasons for WD. They are so close in this moment but still are not quite where they need to be.
We see more yearning in the blanket for the settee scene from both Colin and Penelope. They miss each other, the easiness of their friendship and now the future of their marriage.
He reads her letters again, because he misses her. Not hearing from her was the catalyst in his rapid down badism and is now key in realizing that the Pen he grew up with and the Pen he now knows are both capable of being witty, sharp, and sometimes harsh He starts to miss her a little less. He now sees he has always known her and no longer feels that loss.
Penelope plans to reveal herself and they are one step closer to not missing eachother.
The next time (that we know of) they see each other is at the Butterfly Ball. The worry he feels for her while being put in the spotlight is palpable. Everything can go up in flames at any moment and he could lose her forever. If he thought he missed her before, it is nothing compared to the possibility of never having her again.
But this doesn’t happen. The look of fear is replaced by that of utter pride, love, and adoration of his best friend as he watches her triumphantly declare herself as WD. Now all of the pieces are in place. Whistledown is out in the open, he has reconciled Pen and WD, and has admitted to his envy. They can now be emotionally, physically, and mentally together. He no longer has to miss her.
Colin “my wife” Bridgerton never wants to miss his Pen again because he has spent entirely too long missing her. I cannot WAIT to see them in their happy, wedded, mom and dad bliss next season. They will be insufferable to the entire ton.
——————————————————————————
If you’ve made it through my ramblings, I sincerely thank you. I hope it’s coherent enough and makes sense. Colin is such a complicated character and I love analyzing the way Luke plays him. All the nuances Luke slips in there truly make me love Colin even more.

quest
seven
warning: mentions of sexual relationships
when you parked your car at the coffee shop emily told you to meet aaron your heart pounded. you had no idea what was coming. all you knew was he was upset.
he had every right to be. you kept his kids from him. you didn’t even let him explain what emily saw. come to think of it, you didn’t even let emily explain.
as soon as you heard her utter the words ‘i saw hotch and haley in his office’ you ended the call. you couldn’t hear anymore. but knowing what you do now, you felt you deserved everything coming to you.
spotting aaron sitting at a table you take a deep breath and head inside. you sit right across from him and give him a small smile.
aaron hands you a cup. “decaf still, right?”
you hum as you take a sip. “thank you.”
the two of you sat in silence for a minute. it felt longer though. you missed him. everything about aaron you missed. you missed the way he smelled, his beautiful smile, the way he made you laugh, the way he listened. you missed his touch.
his touch,
god did you miss the way aaron touched you. rather it would be as simple as holding your hand or the way he would hold you when you fucked.
aaron could be a gentle lover. he would whisper sweet nothings in your ear as he made love to you. tell you how beautiful you were and how good you were to him.
but he was also rough! if he got a little jealous or you two argued about something so minor, he’d fuck you like you meant absolutely nothing to him! and you loved it.
you tried not to think too much about it, but you noticed he has been working out. his muscles were bulging more than before.
you also noticed he still wore his wedding band. something you felt a sense of pride in. despite being divorced he still showed everyone he was taken. even if it weren’t true.
you did the same. you loved aaron. knowing you could never move on from the man that gave you the best years of your life and the three, four babies you adored! nothing would ever change that. if wearing the ring meant you would never be with anyone else again, you were okay with that.
“should we start?”
you didn’t know what to say. just humming as he cleared his throat.
“i made a promise to you i would love you unconditionally. i married you because i meant every single word. and i would never intentionally hurt the woman i love. i broke that vow by having an emotional affair with my ex wife. i hugged her for too long, held her hand, kissed her cheek, even cuddled her from time to time. but i never went as far as sleeping with her. and i wouldn’t have blamed you if you wanted to divorce me after knowing the truth. instead you left. part of me kinda happy you did. foyet was after me and my family. it’s one of the reasons why haley and i reconnected. i needed him to see he could never break this family up. fortunately he didn’t know about you,”
“what do you mean?”
“i made sure the team kept you hidden from the moment we met. i didn’t need anyone to know i had remarried. if i could go back i would have done the same with haley.”
you wanted to hold his hand. you knew he was still grieving. haley was his first everything. completely losing her destroyed him. on top of losing you all in the span of a few months apart. he went through hell for the longest.
“after foyet died i tried finding you. i even tried to get penelope to trace you. she declined. i was very pissed i almost fired her. but she wanted to protect you. i couldn’t be mad at that,”
“aaron, im sorry. i—i thought with me out of the picture you’d be better off. i wanted you to be happy. i knew it would have been a hard decision if i stayed. i didn’t want you to choose me because i was pregnant. i wanted you to choose me because you loved me.”
“they’re my kids too yn! mine! you left knowing this. knowing that you were carrying our babies. i didn’t get to be there for them. i didn’t get to hold you hand while you gave birth, wake up all hours of the morning to feed them or change them, watch them start to crawl, watch them walk for the first time, i miss two birthdays yn!! two. you made that decision for me. you made the decision to leave and take our children with you. i—knowing this, finding this out from jj, i didn’t know how to feel.”
you turned your head guilty. you couldn’t look him in the eyes. you knew as soon as you did the tears would just come pouring out.
the two of you stayed silent for awhile. aaron clears his throat before speaking.
“i promised jack i would bring you home. please don’t break his heart again.” aaron states. he leaves money on the table before leaving you alone with your thoughts.
when you arrived at your sister house you sigh. all you wanted to do was hug your babies. you missed them and needed a little comfort right now.
the moment you saw them playing with their cousins you smiled. they were the cutest. you always wanted them to know their older cousins.
“mamma!” izzy was the first to spot you. she waddles her way towards you.
“izzy!” you copied her.
“miss mamma.” she smiles at you.
“miss you too baby. you and your siblings.”
“up, mummy!” aurora raises her arms.
you gently pick her up. you missed when you use to be able to carry all three of them at the same time. now they were bigger and a lot heavier. you could only pick them up in twos.
you kiss aurora’s cheek as you son walks over to you. he pulls on your shirt. you bend down to his level and set your other two babies down.
“hows my shy boy?”
he shrugs his shoulders. you frown. you really wished he was a little more outgoing. but you couldn’t blame him. you were just as shy growing up. you still are.
you kiss theo’s cheek gently. “mama missed all three of her babies.” you hug your kids tightly. not too tight. but enough.
“mama! you being silly.” isabella laughs.
“oh, am i?!” you start to tickle them. she giggles uncontrollably. you laugh before kissing them on the forehead.
“why don’t you go play with your cousins while i talk to your aunt, okay?”
your three mini me’s walk over to their cousins as you walk towards your sister.
“so, how’d it go?”
you sigh. “as good as it could. he wants me to move back home.”
“you have a life here though. he can’t expect you to pack your bags and move three two year olds!”
“i don’t know abby. i did take two years away from him and the triplets. plus i have a son back home who misses me.”
“well are you two gonna at least work your shit out? because if not then what?”
you shrug. “i gotta at least try, yeah? you didn’t see abby! we both still have our wedding bands on. legally we’re divorced but mentally and emotionally we’re still married. i have to fight for my marriage.”
“i understand little sister. i just worry. with everything that just happened i don’t want you to spiral. plus, i just got you back. i don’t want you to leave.” abigale pouts.
“i know. but ill be back to visit!”
“promise?”
“swear it.”
you two continue to talk. catching up on everything you missed before you headed out to figure out your move.
aaron had came by the next morning to help you pack and to meet the kids for the first time. he was nervous and excited all in one.
he knew what it was like to raise one child for nine years. now he was transitioning from one to four. he still couldn’t believe it.
he was a father of four. four beautiful kids who he adored. he already loved his babies. he couldn’t wait to raise them with you. and hopefully work your shit out to have more in the future.
when he arrived you weren’t shocked at all he had went shopping. he spoiled jack so much you just knew he’d spoil your other three.
“hi.”
“hey. come in! the kids are in their pen.” you opened the door wider to allow him inside. aaron smiles as he walks to the living room.
he got a bit of a glimpse of them the other day. seeing them face to face like this made him gasped. all three, beautiful as ever. you two made the cutest little babies.
“izzy, theo, roe! id like you to meet someone.” the three of them look up at their mom and sees a tall man. they had no idea who he was but he looked friendly.
“who’s that mamma?” izzy was the first to ask.
“remember how i told you daddy was off being a super hero and catching the bad guys? how he’d be back to take us home? well, he’s back. and he’s right there.”
“papa?” theo questioned.
aaron bends down. “that’s right! im your dad little buddy.”
“daddy!” izzy walked over to aaron and hugs him. aaron chuckled as he holds his daughter.
“love daddy.” aurora states.
aaron wanted to shed tears in that moment. but he held himself together and hugged all three of his kids as they walk over to him.
“goin home to brudder?” theodore asked.
“yeah. going home to brother.”
slow burn but not too slow because i don’t have the time for the shit! i want them together!!!!!
but how did you guys like this part? i think it’s cute! had to put the babies in there. they’re adorable
peep aaron already planning to have more kids with the reader!!

How You Get The Girl
Part 1: You’re Losing Me / Masterlist
AARON HOTCHNER REDEMPTION ARC WC: 2.9K
Based off “How You Get the Girl” by T.Swifttttt
6 months.
That’s how long you’ve been without Aaron and Jack in your life. It was the worst. You knew he was happier without you. You weren’t holding him back anymore.
But you weren’t happy. You thought you would be happy without Aaron and Jack. But losing them was the worst thing to happen to you. You gave Aaron the ultimatum because you wanted to be happy, you wanted him to be happy, but it came back to hurt you.
The few dates you went on with the owner of the bar were wonderful, but he just wasn’t Aaron. Everything the guy did, you only thought about how Aaron would’ve done it. When you told him you weren’t ready for a relationship, he understood. He just asked that you told Aaron how you felt.
But you couldn’t. How could you just “waltz” into Aaron and Jack’s life again. Jack could never forgive you. You had been in his life for almost 4 years, and you left. You were a mom to him and you left him.
You had seen him one time, on the playground. You were going to walk over and say hi but then you saw Rossi and Aaron and decided to go against it. You couldn’t just show back up in their lives, especially after leaving them.
You missed Jack dearly. He was just a child. You always wanted to be a mom. Being a mom to him for 3 and a half years was the best thing ever. You and him had a special bond, and you were a complete asshole because you let your “happiness” get in the way of that. You were never happy after you lost Aaron and Jack.
While you missed the early morning breakfasts, the spontaneous dance sessions, the rainy movie days, and everything else with Jack, you’ll never forgive yourself for not staying, for not fighting harder for you and Aaron. Something had to give in the relationship, you had just wished that it wasn’t you.
You wished you had given Aaron a different ultimatum. Maybe you should have tried and compromised. But you didn’t, that’s on you. This pain your dealing with is going to take forever to get over. Everytime you see a father and son in the store or on the street, you could only think about Aaron and Jack. Everytime you went shopping, you couldn’t help but go down the office supply aisle and look for the refillable ink for Aaron’s pens. But you could never buy them, you didn’t have Aaron in your life.
Every little thing reminded you of those two boys in your life. You were so much happier with Aaorn and Jack in your life. Aaron was trying, yes there were the missed dates and the broken promises, but you’d rather have the missed dates and broken promises all over again than feel the way you do now.
Alone, Upset, Miserable.
You had still been living with Penelope, both of you decided that it was the best living arrangement. You tried to move out but she insisted you stayed. She had a personal chef, especially because she was not good at cooking, she had a gossip buddy, and you two got to remain friends, even though you and Aaron were broken up.
Penelope filled the voids of your emptiness. She did everything she could to make you happy. She was home every night with you. While she worked for the BAU, she very rarely got to travel, but, you think that after you explained to Aaron why you were breaking up with him, he made her stay back even more, especially when he found out you were living with her.
**** Earlier that day ****
Penelope had barged into Aaron’s office. Not caring what he was doing. He looked up from his paperwork and he said, “Penelope? What’s the problem?”
“Sir, I need to be honest with you. You need to go after Y/n. You love her? Don’t you?”
“Of course I do, but I want her to be happy. That’s my number one priority. She was not happy with me, so, I did what was reasonable. I let her go. I will always love her, but I will always want her to be happy. Even if that’s not with me.”
“But, sir, it is with you! She still loves you. Yes, she’s gone out on a few dates with that guy but they never had sex yet! That’s a sign she still loves you.”
Aaron rolled his eyes and shook his head. He couldn’t believe he was listening to this. As he shook his head, he looked down at the pen in his hand. His heart stopped for a brief moment. These were only the pens he had kept in his home office. He doesn’t know how they got here.
“Penelope. I don’t care if she’s had sex with them. I lost her. There’s no coming back from this.”
“Yes there is. Trust me. She still talks about you and Jack. Her room is decorated with pictures that Jack had drawn her. There are framed pictures of you kissing her cheek. She still wants you. She’s not happy. She’s alone. She’s miserable. She needs you. She was happy with you.”
“She left. I lost her. How could she be happy with me. Something had to give, Penelope.”
“She just wants change, Aaron. That’s all she wants. She thinks about what went wrong and we talk about it every single night. She still loves you, Aaron. She just will never come into yours and Jack’s life again because she doesn’t want to cause you two any more pain than you’ve already been through.”
Aaron thought back to what you and him had talked about during your fight. He scoffed and said, “She’s a people pleaser. She’ll suffer just to make others happy. She needs herself to be happy.”
“Aaron. You make her happy. I promise, if you were to ever talk to her again. She’ll take you back. She’s only thought of a million scenarios where you and Jack come back into her life. I promise. If you think about this, think about how you want to change to be in a better relationship the second time, now’s your chance, Aaron. I can’t stand to see her miserable anymore. If you don’t want her in your life, you need to let me know now so I can be honest with her and help her come back to reality that you won’t be in her life anymore.”
Aaron couldn’t stop Garcia fast enough from talking. He needed to get you back. He had a second chance. Well, that’s what she was telling him. When she walked out of his office, he sat there contemplating how he was going to get you back after how he lost you.
It wasn’t long before it was storming, he didn’t realize how bad it was, but if he wanted you back, he needed to do it today.
****
It was storming really bad out. Streets were flooded, some parts of town were out of power, luckily the BAU wasn’t on a case so you were thankful Aaron was home with Jack. Jack still wasn’t a fan of bad storms. He thought they were cool, but he still loved to be cuddled up on a couch or sleep in bed with Aaron. And at one point, he loved to be with you.
Penelope was making popcorn as you two decided to have a movie night. We heard the crack of thunder and it began to downpour even harder. You didn’t realize how hard it was raining until the TV went silent for a split second, the lights flickering.
“Geez, it’s really raining out there. Anybody who is out in this weather right now is insane.”
As you and Penelope got settled in on your respective seats on the couch, she handed you a bowl of popcorn and a napkin.
“Thank you, Penelope. And not just for the popcorn, but everything. From helping me and giving me a place to stay so I don’t have to look for a new apartment, for being my therapist and listening to the problems Aaron and I had, for telling me how he’s doing at work and how Jack’s been doing. I mean it. It’s been 6 months without them, I want him back, but I can’t go back. I gave him the ultimatum, he needed to realize that I was serious. If I run back to him, what does that show? That this whole thing was my fault, especially when I’d go crawling back. I wanted him to realize when I moved out that he lost me and I wanted him back, I never realized that he would actually be better off without me.”
“Oh sweetness, he hasn’t been better off without you. He’s been taking it hard. He’s not the same person he was when he was with you.”
Part of you wanted to break down and cry. You caused his heartbreak, yet all you wanted him was to be happy. You assumed that letting him have the BAU would make him happy, he didn’t have to come home to a fiancé who complained about his broken promises.
“Let’s begin the movie before we’re both sobbing.”
As Penelope found the video, there was a knock on the door. You stood up, immediately making your way to the door and looking through her peep hole. When you looked through you saw Aaron shaking from the rain, he was cold.
You threw open the door, looking at him, he looked handsome, even if he was soaked from the rain, he looked beautiful. But that’s not what you cared about.
“Aaron! Are you insane?”
Penelope sent a picture to the BAU (minus Aaron) of Aaron and you at the door and said, “Operation get those two back together is in the final stages.”
“It’s been a long six months and I was too afraid to tell you what I want.”
What was going on? Aaron’s at Penelope’s door. You hadn’t talked to him in 6 months, but he’s here. He must have realized that he had lost you. He had to be holding on to some type of hope or faith to think it’s how he’d get you back.
“Aaron, let’s get you out of that suit, you’re gonna catch a cold. And is Jack home alone? He hates storms, Aaron.”
Aaron didn’t budge. He just grabbed your hand and pulled you into the hall.
“I want you for worse or for better. I would wait forever and ever. I broke your heart, I know that. But I’ll put it back together. Like I said, I would wait forever and ever. I was sitting on our couch the other day, in our sunroom, just remembering how it used to be. How the last good memory I have of us was from that morning 6 months ago. It hurt taking down those pictures of us, me kissing your cheek. Those were my favorite ones that I had framed, because you were so caught off guard in them. They were my favorite pictures because that was always my chance to surprise you.”
You couldn’t help but look at him with the most empathetic eyes you ever had. He must have come to his senses that he lost you, or, got close to losing you forever.
“When you told me that I was losing you, I couldn’t believe. I didn’t want to believe it. I lost my mind when I left you all alone and I never told you why. That’s how it works and that’s how I lost my dream girl. God, I miss you. I miss your scent in the morning. I miss when Jack used to be happy to come into our room, now he won’t even step foot in there. I missed that I had someone to come home, too. Someone who told me I was doing my best job, nothing more could have been done. I miss the one who put me above herself. I’m not saying that to be selfish, but I miss it because the date I went on, she only cared about herself. I compared her to you. No one will ever be you. I want you. I want the girl who notices what my favorite brand of pens are and secretly refills them. I want the girl I can come home too and not be screamed at even though I messed up and should be yelled at. I want you. I want all of you. I know I might have lost you for good. You told me that. I’m willing to compromise and cut back on my hours and if we schedule a date, I’m going to make sure you and I go on that date. Because i saw what you looked like on a date with another guy. I saw how happy you were as a live band was playing. You were dancing in the street and I want to be the one to spin you around. I want to be the one who dances with you when no one else is dancing. I want you for worse or for better. I’ll wait forever and ever just to get you again. I broke your heart, I’ll put it back together. I promise you that. I want to get you back.”
Just as he caught his breath, you stepped forward and kissed him. Wrapping his arms around you, he pulled you closer to him. The kiss was 1000 times better than your first kiss. You know Aaron meant every word he just confessed to you right now. That kiss proves he knew he lost you the first time, and he would never lose you again.
“I’m not going to lose you anymore. It’s you and me until the end of time. Those 6 months were hell without you in my life, I never want to live through that again.”
“I love you, Aaron.”
As you pulled him into Penelope’s apartment, he shut the door behind him and he said hello to her. You excused yourself and apologized to Penelope but she stopped you before you could even say anything else.
Closing your door behind you and Aaron, he pushed you back up against the door, kissing you again. You began to take off his wet suit and as you got him stripped out of his clothes, you stopped just as he was in his boxers.
“Who has Jack?”
“Jack is with Jess. He wanted to have a sleepover there. You know, he misses you.”
You pushed him back against the bed and made him sit down. You moved around the room, grabbing a pair of his sweatpants and tshirt that you had stolen and never gave back after the break up.
As Aaron put his sweatpants on, he pulled you onto his lap, kissing you once more.
“6 months was a long time without you. I never want to be without you for that long ever again. Please come home. Jack misses you, I miss you. I still want to marry you. It’s our 4 year anniversary today, in case you forgot.”
“How could I forget?”
You ran your fingers through his soaking wet hair. You took him in. It’s been 6 whole months since you got to be with him. But it’s probably been over a year since you were having an emotional, vulnerable, intimiate moment with him right now.
“Aaron, I love you. If we do this, we get back together, get married. Things have to change. I can’t go through that again. I can’t do the broken promises. I can’t have a baby with you if you won’t help be a parent to them. I want to have a baby with you because I know you’re an amazing father with Jack, but I want our baby to have those moments with you. Maybe even more moments that you missed with Jack. You told me that was your biggest regret in your life, was not being there for the little things. If we’re going to do this, let’s do this right.”
“I told you. I’m going to fix your heart that I broke. I’m going to do everything to change. I’m going to do it the right way. Thank you for bringing me to my senses. Thank you for giving me a second chance, well more like the millionth chance. But thank you.”
As you and him made your ways onto your respective sides of the bed, you got under the covers with him. When he pulled you into his arms, he waited until you were long asleep in his arms before he decided to close his eyes.
He lost you the first time, he sure as hell would never lose you again. Confessing his love, he wanted to get you back. He wanted to get his girl back, and he did. He would forever be grateful for it.
****4 years later****
As you and Aaron celebrated your 3 year wedding anniversary, 8 years of being together, you were sat around the dinner table with Jack and yours and Aaron’s twins. Within 4 years, you and him had your twins, a boy and a girl, and countless memories with your family.
As you were looking through the photo album, there was a note that had slipped out. When you grabbed it, Aaron tried to grab it from you. You opened it and read, “How You Get the Girl T. Swift”
“Aaron Hotchner. You did not win me back by acting out a Taylor Swift song in real life.”
Aaron smiled and took the note back from you. He kissed you, leaving Jack scrunching his face up and the twins clapping.
Aaron said, “That’s how it works. It’s how I got the girl.”

Can I request an Aaron Hotchner x autistic!daughter young adult ideally but any age. Or even she’s on the team and he’s a father figure to her because her own is so ableist. My dad is so ableist and I have so much autistic trauma from him even though my autism is from him too. He thinks that gives him even more rights to say whatever he wants to me and bully me even more. I just need to know what it feels like to have a good dad who cares about my autism. Who cares about me ❤️❤️
Aaron Hotchner x Autistic! Young adult reader
Of course I can, I'm sorry you have to deal with that, my parents have trouble understanding my Autism as well but they are getting better. I will write this for you!
Summary: Y/Ns ableist Dad comes to the BAU and starts being an Ableist arsehole to his daughter, her father figure (Hotch) steps in and saves her.
Third Person pov...
It had been 3 years since Y/N L/N joined the BAU, she was 21 when she joined and instantly became the baby of the team and Hotch became her Dad, Y/N is autistic and has sensory issues.
Ever since she was little her father was ablest and would bully her and verbally abuse her saying how her being Autistic meant something was wrong with her and that she needed fixing, the man caused her to have so many meltdowns and sensory overloads that it made others concerned her teachers as school.
He was later arrested for child abuse and was sent to prison, Y/N was then left with her neighbours who were a nice loving family and always liked her but hated her dad and were glad she got away from him after suffering for years, her Mum was out of the picture.
The young girl had so much trauma from her childhood when she joined the BAU that Hotch became her father figure, their relationship helped mend Y/Ns trauma from her bio dad and she was able to live comfortably knowing he wasnt in her life anymore, she was treated with respect and was always told that her autism wasn't a bad thing.
From being with Penelope and Spencer (who are also Autistic) her relationship with her Autism was mended and she was able to be herself, while with her dad she could stim or doing anything 'autistic' but with her new found family she was free to stim and had all her accomedations, if anyone disrespected her or called her weird they would have to deal with an angry Hotch and the rest of the team.
It was a normal day for the team, they weren’t on a case and for once they all got to relax and fill out paperwork, well aside from Hotch and Spencer no one was doing any paperwork, Derek and Emily were sat giggling loudly like children as they kept throwing rolled up pieces of paper at their second youngest member.
The laughter increased as they kept hitting their mark, Spencers head, the genius was none the wiser as a pile of paper was forming around him at their many failed attempts. From the side JJ and Penelope sit and watch as Spencer doesn't realise, opposite the genius sat Y/N she was busy spinning in her chair with her headphones on and watching the scene play out.
She had the perfect poker face for when a paper ball hit Spencer's head, as the children in the bull pen play the two adults Hotch and Rossi where actually getting work done, , well Hotch was at least the Italian was drinking and watching the kids outside keeping an eye on them as someone responsible needed too.
As Y/N continued to spin around her in chair she didn’t hear the heavy footsteps off someone walking up behind her, the H/C woman was suddenly yanked off her chair and onto the hard floor by a man, in the process of being manhandled her headphones when flying off her head.
“What did I tall ya about doing that Girl!” exclaimed a voice that haunted her nightmares, gasping in terror Y/N stared frozen at her Father who was suppose to be in prison, the large man had a sickening grin on his face as he saw the terror in his daughter eyes.
“Yes its me!” he laughed that horrible laugh that had Y/N holding her hands overs her ears, the 21 year old was still frozen on the floor while the others were staring at the scene before them guns raised, by this time Hotch and Rossi had heard what happened and were out of their offices.
“bu-but your supposed to be in jail!” exclaimed Y/N finally finding her voice stuttering, the man looked down at her crumpled form, he then grabbed the front of her blouse pulling his daughter close. “they let me out for good behaviour, did ya miss me!” he semi whispered as Y/Ns face grew a sickening pale white, she scrambled to get away but the man wouldn’t let go instead he raised his hand and slapped her.
Y/N cried out in pain. “you really didn’t think I could be held for long did ya you retard! You really are still a fucked in the head as you were years ago” yelled the man, Hotch had had enough, he rain down thw ramp arms raised, gun in his hands. “Get your hands on hr now, you do realise you just assaulted a federal agent” growled out Hotch as the man teared his eyes away from the shivering form of his daughter.
He spat at Hotch. “your not her father I am, this waste of space in am Agent HA!”!” he laughed again and kicked Y/N hard in the ribs, Penelope gasps tears in her eyes as she witnesses her friend get beaten. Y/N holds in her cries of pain and raises her head from the floor glaring at the man.
“your not my dad you never have been!” she cried tears rolling down her face, the sadistic man smirked at the tears rolling down his daughters face, the sight reminding off when she was a kid and he would verbally abuse her, he had never hit her before now, it felt good.
Her words made him angry. “I am your father retard, though I hate to admit it you share my blood, your as stupid as I remember crying on the floor like the child you are to stupid to do what I say” he goes on on berating Y/N and saying how stupid she was once again verbally abusing her, as he went on his rant Y/N managed to stand up.
She was then pulled behind Hotch, his finger close to pulling the trigger. “you Bastard, you shut the fuck up now, you have crossed the line now get out of my building and away from my Daughter before I pump your body full of bullets!” yelled Hotch threw clenched teeth, he was so close to pulling the trigger instead he stormed up so he was chest to chest with the man and pulled back his fist.
When he lets go his right hand connected with the nose he was satisfied to feel it shatter, a smirk on his face before gesturing to a couple of agents. “now don’t ever come back or I will kill you” Hotches hand was burning but he felt satisfied when Y/Ns Dad freeze before he tsked and stormed out not before calling Y/N the R slur before he was detained by two agents ans forced into handcuffs.
Hotch crossed his arms before turning around to hug Y/N was had collapsed, the stress from her dad coming in draining her, she was then sat at her desk with Hotch hovering around her looking at her injuries, E/C eyes locked on his brown ones.
“Im your daughter” she whispers hoarsely, this made Hotch smile and run his hand through her hair. “of course, you are sweetie” he smiled softly kissing her forehead still smiling when she smiles back.
The end!!
Hoped you liked this oneshot so sorry for the wait! As usual sorry for the grammar and spelling mistake!

part 12 of ‘the sweetest con’
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x fem!Reader
Word Count: 1.2k
A/N: the last part before the epilogue!
Six months.
Six months of being together. Laughing together. Being happy together.
Six months that signified something: I had to report our relationship to the bureau.
It was a terrifying ordeal, to put it lightly. I didn’t get fired, which had me thankful beyond belief, but I did get a scolding and a temporary suspension for not notifying them of such sooner. And a threat that she might have to move to a new unit. But, after much convincing from her, we decided that anything was worth it if we were together.
And it was so worth it.
Half a year doesn’t feel like a lot in the grand scheme of things, but it felt like everything with her. Plus, we finally got to officially tell the entire team, and of course, they were thrilled beyond belief.
Dave insisted that we all go to his house for dinner to celebrate our milestone, and despite my protests, she gave an emphatic ‘yes’ for both of us. We sat around the dining room table, talking about anything and everything that didn’t have to do with work. It felt like one of those times I knew I was in trouble with her in the beginning. But this time, I didn’t have to pretend that I wasn’t hopelessly head-over-heels for her. Cheers erupted from the team anytime we showed any affection towards each other, much to her delight. She adored the sweet attention we were getting from our friends, and part of me couldn’t help but smile along with her every time she brightened up at their comments.
“Told you this would work out fine,” she whispered to me at the table, glancing around at everyone.
They were currently preoccupied with the news of Reid taking somebody on a date, taking the pressure and attention off of the two of us. I smiled down at her, not bothering to hide it.
“You’ve proved me wrong once again,” I say, huffing a dramatic sigh playfully. “You’ve got to stop being right about everything. It’s not fair.”
“I was born to be a genius, what can I say?” she said with a cheeky smile. “You love it anyways.”
“Mm. I don’t know about that,” I start with a quirked brow. “But I do love you.”
“Even better,” she whispered, leaning into me.
I couldn’t help but smile as she kissed me softly, letting it linger a bit longer than she had the rest of the night considering nobody was looking at us. Or so we thought.
“You two are so sweet,” Penelope gushed, trying to keep her voice down as she grinned at us. “I’m so happy you’re together. I’ve never seen either of you look so happy.”
I saw her smile at Garcia’s words, leaning her head against my shoulder.
I hummed. “I got very lucky.”
We finished dinner a couple of hours later, and of course, Dave had to make a point to pull out some expensive bottle of wine as we sat in the living room.
He held up his glass. “To our two favorite lovebirds. Now, we don’t all have to pretend we don’t see them staring at each other like they want rip one another's clothes off.”
She snorted a laugh next to me. “Oh, please. At work? I’d never.”
We all laughed at her comment, my cheeks flushing a little, and then drank to our apparent good fortune. I listened in as the team chatted for another couple of hours, content to only sprinkle in a comment here or there.
She leaned into me eventually. “Did you ever think we’d be here a few years ago?”
I laughed. “No. I didn’t think we’d be here this time last year. I’m still trying to figure out why you fell for me, of all people.”
She fell quiet, merely smiling at me for a few moments, staring at me with those pretty, sparkling eyes of hers. I couldn’t help but smile back.
“You don’t give yourself enough credit,” she said at last, voice quiet. “I couldn’t imagine not falling for you. I’m just happy you felt the same way.”
I hummed another small laugh, kissing her. I couldn’t hold back anymore. We only broke apart when she started laughing at the cheers that once again erupted from the group.
We went back to my apartment that night, hand in hand as we walked up the stairs together.
“I’m so happy we finally told them,” she said as I pulled my keys out.
I got the key in the door, opening it for her and disarming the alarm. I tossed down my keys and jacket.
“Yeah. So glad they get to relentlessly make fun of us,” I replied.
She laugh, walking up to me and putting her arms around my neck.
“You love it and you know it,” she said, a soft kiss on my lips between words. “They make fun because they care. And you adore all of them for it. You can’t hide that from me.”
I shook my head with a lovesick smile, leaning in to kiss her once again, then took her hand to lead her to the couch.
“I wanted to talk to you about something.”
She raised her brows, sitting next to me. “Uh oh.”
“Stop it,” I said softly with a smile. “I… Well, we’ve been together for a while. I love you, you know that. And I love spending all my time with you, but sometimes that’s hard when we live so far apart.”
“My apartment is like fifteen minutes away on a busy day,” she laughed.
“Too far,” I deadpanned. “I just— If I asked you to move in with me, would you think I was totally insane?”
Her small grin turned into a full smile. “Yeah?”
I smiled back, nodding. “Yeah. I get more time with you, and… Honestly, I’ve already mentioned it to Jack and he loves the idea of having more sleepovers with you. Don’t want to disappoint him, now, do we?”
“Oh, definitely not,” she shook her head seriously, hiding a smile. “I almost have to now, don’t I? If Jack says I should.”
“Yes. Exactly.”
She smiled again, tackling me onto the couch cushions with a tight hug. I laugh as she started pressing soft kisses all over my face.
“I love you. You know that?” she asked.
I nodded. “I know.”
She stared at me for another moment, then kissed me once more for good measure.
“I’m serious, though, Jack is expected a sleepover every night that he’s home with us.”
She raised a brow. “Guess I should move in pretty fast then, huh?”
“If we don't want to face his wrath, yes. I’d recommend it.”
“It’s a good thing we have the day off tomorrow, then, isn’t it?”
I smiled. “Yeah. Great coincidence.”
She narrowed her eyes playfully. “What if I had said no?”
“I knew you’d say yes.”
“How?”
I smirked at her, quiet for a moment before I reigned in the smile to look at her seriously.
“I’m a really great profiler.”

It’s A New Beginning: Lewis Hamilton X Black! Reader X Max Verstappen
TW: Cheating, Harsh tones
Y/n had been with her boyfriend Max for the past four years and they have a daughter named Tai Verstappen. Over the course of the last three weeks, Y/n had been facing problems from Max’s dad, Jose, who kept telling her that she was a distraction and that he didn’t know what Max saw in her, going to the extent of questioning Tai’s paternity. Throughout this entire time, not once had Max defended her since he decided to just sit back and laugh; agreeing with his father. This made Y/n doubt the standing of their relationship with the final straw being pulled after Y/n saw circulating photos of Max and Kelly Piquet paired up with her daughter as they looked more like a family than with his own child.
Max had arrived home in Monaco very late to his girlfriend sitting on the coach. “Don’t touch me, I don’t know where your hands and lips have been” Y/n retracted harshly as she got up from the couch. “I waited for you to make the inform of the fact that I’ll be leaving and taking my daughter with me. You now have enough space for Kelly and Penelope.” She spoke as she took up a sleeping Tai and walked out the door, out of his life.
She drove off driving around Monaco with nowhere to go and so she just parked on the side and sat there crying not knowing what to do since she doesn’t own a house in Maonaco and was unable to afford the fees to go back home.
Lewis was coming back from a midnight run when he spotted the beauty crying in the car so he decided to approach. “Hi Y/n why are you out here, shouldn’t you and the little one be at home out of the cold?” He asked confused. “He cheated with Nelson Piquet’s daughter. We aren’t together anymore so I don’t have anywhere to go” Y/n sobbed, stirring the sleeping toddler. “She’s about 8 months old yeah?” Lewis took notice before he opened the door, taking Tai out of her car seat and helping Y/n out the car and into the house. “You two will stay here with me and you’ll work at the hospitality while I look after little Tai” Lewis offered making Y/n tear up at his kindness towards a rival’s ex.
Truth be told, Lewis was always in love with Y/n since he had seen her at Abu Dhabi; however Max had gotten to her first which left him to admire her from afar. Throughout the months, Lewis and Y/n grew closer until feelings were shared and a relationship was formed.
Over the passing years, Jose seemed to have regret his actions towards his former daughter-in-law and granddaughter as he saw how sad his son had become whenever Lewis would appear with Tai on his hip playing with Roscoe and her new grandpa Anthony.
“Daddy, I know that Max is my real father so I have a question” Tai hinted to her stepfather who now gave her his full attention. “Sure princes, what’s up?” He asked attentively “Would you be upset if I went into the Redbull Grage to say hi to my daddy and grandpa?” She asked shyly. “Of course not sweetheart, you have all right and permission to go if you want to. Is that what you want?” He asked making the child nod cutely.
Lewis too Tai by the hand and led her to the garage where he showed her to Max and allowed her to go off. He watched as the interacted and after they were finished she ran back over with a pretty smile on her face as they left.

1:00 am, it was one in the morning, and you couldn’t sleep. You thought about what you used to do when you couldn’t sleep and that had you reaching for your phone. Scrolling through your texts, your thumb ghosted over his name. The last text having been from him, a simple “I miss you”. That was 2 weeks ago.
Aaron and you had broken things off about five months ago now. This had been the longest five months of your life. The breakup had kind of been mutual, you both had just come to the realization that things weren’t working anymore. You sat there thinking about that night:
**You were sitting in your bed, movie long forgotten, checking your phone for the hundredth time. Still nothing. No texts or calls to inform you of Aaron’s return. A tear had made its way down your cheek and dripped off your jaw onto the screen of your phone. When did you even start crying? Why were you crying? Things had been like this for the last two months; Aaron would get called away on a case and leave while you were sat at home to continue on with work like everything is normal. And while that may seem like it would be your normal, things had shifted two months ago. Aaron used to call, text and even facetime you when he could while on a case, but those things started to dwindle down to nothing. Which brings you back to tonight, it had been six days since you had heard from Aaron, he could be dead for all you know. But you do know thanks to Penelope, she had a habit of texting the respective partners to inform them of the teams’ safe arrivals and returns. You decided that enough was enough, you needed to go and talk to him – it couldn’t wait any longer.
Aaron and you didn’t even argue, there was no yelling, no accusations, no throwing of things, nothing. The two of you spoke about how your communication had disintegrated and you rarely saw one another. Aaron explained that it was his job and there wasn’t a whole lot he could do, he apologized for the lack of texts but clarified that his job was very important and that it was his priority when he was away. How could you be mad at that, he was right, his job was very important. Which is exactly what you told him. You let him know that you understood the importance of his job but that you were having a hard time being with someone who wasn’t present. There was a silence and a knowing look before you both stood, exchanged a hug and a final kiss and nodded at one another. As you went to leave, you turned around and told Aaron that you would always love him and that you were sorry that you couldn’t handle his job. To which he shook his head and replied that he loved you too and he was sorry that his job was as time-consuming as it was. He walked over and sat in his favorite chair, the one that you had dragged over by the window on a rainy day to read in, the one that he never moved back, and that’s when you left.**
I bet this time of night you're still up I bet you're tired from a long hard week I bet you’re sittin’ in your chair by the window Looking out at the city and I bet Sometimes you wonder about me
Thinking about your breakup had you wondering about Aaron. Was he awake right now? Had he just gotten back from a case? Had he moved the chair back, or was it still by the window? Was he thinking about you? You locked your phone and tossed it on your bed, heading into the kitchen to make some tea. You stood there in a trance still battling with yourself on if you should just give up and call him. A quiet “ding” had you snapping out of your thoughts and racing to your room. Had he felt it too? Was he thinking about you?
The “ding” had that you had desperately hoped was Aaron reaching back out ended up being a notification from Gopuff, letting you know they had some late-night deals on ben and jerry’s ice cream. Your heart sunk, maybe you should just call him. You scrolled through your contacts and stopped at his name, you shook your head at yourself, it wasn’t a good idea. But how easy would it be to just click his name and call him, tell him how much you missed him and that it has been so incredibly hard to ignore his messages – but at the time you had thought it was the right thing to do. You wanted to tell him that you still loved him and that you wanted to be with him. You were going out of your mind trying to navigate these thoughts on your own. You needed to talk to him…
And I just want to tell you It takes everything in me Not to call you And I wish I could run to you And I hope you know that Every time I don't, I almost do I almost do
It took everything in you, but ultimately you decided not to call him. You continued scrolling through your contacts and clicked Penelope’s name, she and you had remained friends despite your breakup with Aaron, she had been your shoulder to cry on when you questioned whether or not you had made the right choice. She remained neutral and supported you.
She answered on the third ring, you apologized for waking her up but quickly explained that you needed her. Penelope listened to you as you explained how you had been feeling. That you had wanted so badly to call Aaron and try again. Penelope had expressed a little bit of shock at your confession. She explained to you that there had been a rumor amongst the team that Aaron was convinced that you were officially done with him.
You were quick to dispel this and went on a long rant about how he had reached out and you couldn’t bring yourself to reply because if he wasn’t 100% in then you’d be crushed all over again and that wasn’t a risk you could take given the current state of your heart. You had asked Penelope to elaborate, and she had simply explained that JJ may have overheard Aaron talking to Dave about having texted you and not hearing back, so he figured you were done with him. This only broke your heart more. You had been in hysterics, telling Penelope that you had been a mess over all this for the last month or so. You had thought you had moved on, but there was a part of you that was hung up on Aaron.
I bet you think I either moved on or hate you Cause each time you reach out, there's no reply I bet it never, ever occurred to you That I can't say hello to you and risk another goodbye
Getting off the phone with Penelope left you shocked; how could he think that you had moved on? You had done nothing but put all of your energy into every other aspect of your life to try and keep your mind off of the Aaron sized hole in your heart. Maybe ending things had been a mistake, maybe the two of you just needed to put more effort into your communication and maybe you were simply being too codependent, needing him around all the time.
You knew what you had signed up for when getting into a relationship with him. You knew that his work had been the downfall of him and his ex-wife, you had told him that you would be different, that his work wouldn’t drive you away. You had broken that promise…his work had driven you away as well. But was it his job? Was it the fact that he had stopped putting in any effort to talk to you while away? Was it that even when he was here, he wasn’t really present? You were overanalyzing every aspect of your relationship because you needed to pinpoint where it all went wrong. What you really needed was to sleep and sort this all out once you had rested and had time to process all these emotions running through your brain.
Oh, we made quite a mess, babe It's probably better off this way And I confess, baby In my dreams you're touching my face And asking me if I’d want to try again with you And I almost do
Your alarm had you jolting awake, disappointment immediately settling in your gut. It hadn’t been real, Aaron hadn’t been there reaching for you, his hand gently resting on your jaw, looking into your eyes, telling you that it had all been a mistake. He said he wanted to try again. Only he hadn’t said that, your dream version of him had said that. You thought that rest was going to give your mind a chance to clear up, only now you were more confused than before. Your subconscious brain had brought you back to Aaron, but you still weren’t sure if that was a wise decision. You had the past five months to be on your own and process these feelings and truly become yourself again, would it benefit you to turn back and try again? You got yourself ready to go to work and figured you could come back to these thoughts later.
It was late when you were finally heading home after work. You were exhausted both emotionally and physically. You were driving mindlessly, deciding that it would be good to stop and get something to eat. You hadn’t been able to stomach the thought of food on your break, but now your stomach was growling, and you couldn’t neglect it any longer. Driving through the closest place, you thought about all the times Aaron would come home late with food for you both, knowing that you’d have forgotten to eat, too busy with work and then too tired to cook once you got home. You weren’t sure what to do really, your mind and heart were working against each other and the friends you had spoken to had all said the same thing “you need to do what is best for you”. Things with Aaron had been so amazing in the beginning, and you tried to pinpoint where things went wrong but you couldn’t. At some point it just stopped being amazing. You thought of him again, wondering if he had been thinking about you since that last text.
I bet this time of night you're still up I bet you're tired from a long hard week I bet you're sittin’ in your chair by the window Looking out at the city and I hope Sometimes you wonder about me
Aaron had been driving home, it seemed like he had hit every single red light, his typical 13-minute drive becoming nearly 25 minutes. He was almost home when he hit yet another red light, he huffed out a sigh and looked down to check the time – 10:47 p.m. The team had just returned from a case, and he couldn’t wait to go to sleep. He glanced around and had to do a double take at the vehicle to his left. There you were, you were eating French fries and singing to whatever song was playing through your stereo. He sat there, willing you to look his way, even for just a moment. He thought that maybe if you saw him then it would spark something in you to return his messages, maybe you could meet up for coffee and agree that this breakup was a huge mistake and that you could try again. Only, you didn’t look his way. The light turned and so did you, heading left down the main road the led to your place. The car behind him honked signaling him to go. He made the rest of the drive home in a haze – clouded by images of you. He picked up his phone and typed out a short message…
Aaron: I can’t stop thinking about you.
Aaron was ready to surrender all hope and go to bed when the three little dots appeared. He was anxious to see what you’d reply, but glad that you’d actually return his message this time around. He was quick to check his phone when it alerted him to a new message. A small smile broke out on his face when he read your reply…
Should I write a part 2?

Violet receives a letter
Just imagining what could have happened when Violet received the letter from Penelope...
Once again, english is not my native language, so sorry for the lack of vocabulary...
***
Violet had the loveliest tea time with Lady Danbury. She realized how priceless it was to have a dear friend in one’s life, to share sad but also wonderful moments. Lady Danbury had really become a dear friend to her and Violet cherished the time they spent together. She just returned home and intended to rest in the drawing-room before dinner when Mrs Wilson showed up in the hall “You have received a letter, Madam”.
Violet took the paper and opened it, starting to read it has she was walking towards the stairs. But then she froze and kept reading, standing still in the middle of the hall. When she finished her reading, she heard steps in the staircase and saw her third son walking down to her.
“Colin”, she said in a trembling voice, “I have received a letter from your wife.” Colin looked at her solemnly “We had better sit”, he said. Violet gave her son an intriguing look and followed him in the study where he led her. They sat on the yellow settee against the wall, Violet trying to process the words she just read. Colin was staring at her, not much because he was searching what to say (he had kind of prepared his speech) but mostly to try to convey some confidence to his mother. To tell her that everything will be alright.
He was about to speak when Violet suddenly said “Oh… that makes total sense, now…” Colin looked at her surprisingly. “You have learnt about it a few days before your wedding, haven’t you?” Colin nodded. “I was wondering how you could have been so in love with her and been suddenly so… distant…” Colin felt tears welling up in his eyes. He expected to be quite emotional, when telling his mother his speech, but he didn’t think it would be that soon. He managed to speak with what he thought was a plain voice. “I found out on the night after the ball at the Mondriches.” “You found out…?” Violet repeated. “She didn’t tell you?” Colin slowly shook his head, feeling that tears were not too far from pouring out. He stood up and started pacing in the room, trying to give himself a countenance, telling his mother how he followed Penelope that night, and discovered her secret identity. He told her about the argue in front of the printer’s shop and the awful words he told her and how he let her ride home on her own. “I am not very proud of it, but I was blinded by anger…” he tried to justify. “Of course, you were!” his mother replied. “I cannot imagine what you have been through, how you must have felt…” She stood up as well and walked towards his son to take him in her arms. Colin hugged her and finally allowed himself to let out all the tears and the sorrow he had kept deep inside for days. They stayed like this for a moment, the tall man sobbing onto his mother’s shoulders, like a small child, then Colin stepped back, took a deep breath, and invited Violet to sit down back on the settee. He took place near her, his hands in hers.
“Mother, there is a lot to be told, and I promise I will answer all your questions and fill all the blanks in your mind, but I am afraid we are running out of time, so I am going to go straight to the point: Penelope does not want to hide anymore. It is too much of a burden to carry. She realized how dangerous it can be. And she told me…” His voice broke for a moment and he needed to swallow before he could carry on. “She told me she has loved me for too long to lose me now that we are married.” He marked a pause. “You know, our marriage is not… It is… She…” Colin broke into tears, again, squeezing his mother’s hands tighter “I miss her so much, mother!” he cried out. “I miss my friend. I miss my wife. I miss all of her, but I could not… I could not…” Violet took his son in her arms, again, letting her own tears pouring out. “Of course, you could not…” she said.
“Oh my God, what is happening?” Benedict said in a worried voice, from the threshold of the study. “Mrs Wilson told me you have received a letter, Mother, and that you both have been in there for a while. Has something happened to Penelope?” he asked with a terror in his voice. Wiping his eyes, Colin shook his head to reassure his brother and just told him “Come in. And close the door.”
A moment later and as Colin had explained to him what all this was about, Benedict just said “Now, we know why Penelope and El have had a falling out…” Colin nodded as Violet seemed to realize his son’s words.
“There is something I just do not understand”, Benedict added. Colin looked at him intrigued. “Are you and Penelope in bad terms?” Colin seemed to not know how to answer his brother’s question. “Things seem to be on the right path, now, but…” He paused. “But…?” Benedict insisted. Colin replied in a low voice “I do not know…” “Brother, if you do not know if you are in good terms with your own wife, who can?” Colin explained “We had a huge quarrel, the night before our wedding.” Violet seemed to want to ask something but Colin cut her off and continued “A lot of things have been expressed, during that night. I have heard some of her argues. And she heard mines as well. Strangely, I think it helped us go through our wedding day in a more serene way… But then, the Queen came at our wedding breakfast and she threatened the whole family and… I could not bear it…” Colin’s voice broke again. Benedict gave him a warm look and Colin breathed deeply then added “And now, there is more…” and he told them all about Cressida blackmailing Penelope, how he failed to fix things and what Pen finally decided to do, for the sake of all. He told them about the conversation they had in this very study, after Francesca’s wedding.
Violet seemed shocked and all Benedict could reply was “Wahou…” which almost made Colin smile.
“Penelope is a very clever and strong woman”, Benedict admitted with pride in his voice. Colin looked at him in surprise “You do not seem upset…” “Well,” Benedict added “she has written harsh things for years, but she also has saved our family more than once. She protected Eloise. She protected you, from Marina, even if we now can imagine why she has done so…” Benedict said with a smirk on his face. He added “As far as I am concerned, family comes first. Penelope has always been part of this family and now she is a Bridgerton. But as much as I care for Penelope, you have been my brother for longer and I want you to know that you have my full support. So, I think I already know the answer but I am going to ask the question anyway, just to clarify things: do you still love Penelope?” Colin seemed hurt by the question “Of course, I love her!” Benedict smiled. “I thought so. Otherwise, you would not have married her…” Colin snapped at him “Calling off the wedding has never ever been an option! I love her. I am deeply in love with her. I cannot imagine living without her. Otherwise, all this would have been way easier to handle…” Benedict smiled even wider at his brother and Colin realized that Benedict just wanted to remind him his love for his wife. The rest did not matter. All that mattered was Penelope and how the family could help her with her decision to step out of the shadow.
Colin turned to his mother. “You have been quiet for a while, Mother. What are your thoughts about Penelope’s plan? It can be a risk for the whole family. The repercussion on our name can be devastating…” Violet seemed to still be thinking about it. She finally turned to his third son and told him “Penelope has been part of this family way before your engagement. She has been the ninth Bridgerton siblings and now she is your wife. And she has proven that she loves our family more than once. What she has done, these past years is quite incredible. Being able to keep this heavy secret. Earning her own money… I should not say that but I am quite in awe of her…”
Colin felt his eyes filled with tears, again, and smiled at his mother.
He said “I am going to write a letter to Anthony and Kate to inform them of the situation. They are far away: we shall see how things go and keep them informed. I shall also write a letter to Daphne and Simon. And I must inform the rest of the family, as well. Francesca and John will attend the Dankworth-Finch ball and they need to know. And I will tell the kids as well. Eloise knows about Pen being Lady Wisthledown: I will just let her know what shall happen at the ball, if the Queen decides to show up…” Colin suddenly thought about what could happen if the Queen decided to not forgive Penelope. How their life could be, excluded from the court, from what has been their whole world since their birth.
Violet seemed to notice because she squeezed Colin’s hand and told him “You know the family will be fine, right?” Colin smiled, remembering that Eloise told him exactly the same thing, the day after his wedding.
He knew his family will be fine. And as long as he was with Penelope, he knew he will be fine as well.
Keeping that thought in mind, he stood up and, after a last hug to his mother and one to his brother, he headed up to the drawing-room, where was gathered the rest of the family.

champagne problems
pic by: @masterwords
my bestie @ssamorganhotchner had a delicious angsty idea so this is it <3
angst - no happy ending
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
You can still recall every second of that night.
Aaron’s arm around your waist pulled you against him as he leaned in and took your lips in his. You could feel his smile against you and it made you smile too.
“What’s up with you today?” you giggled, your hand cupping his cheek so you could look into his eyes.
“Nothing,” he murmured and stole another kiss from you. “I’m just in love.”
You hid your face in the crook of his neck, shy from his romantic words.
“Oh my God!” you heard Penelope’s familiar voice and a moment later you felt her hand on your arm. “Your dress is gorgeous.”
“You’re gorgeous!” you grinned at her, lifting your head from Aaron’s shoulder and walking straight to her now open arms.
Still in her embrace, you couldn’t see her face, and missed the way she winked at Aaron when he tapped his palm against his pocket, reassuring her that their plan was going great.
“Kids, what are you still doing in there?” David’s voice came from his garden. “The food is gonna get cold.”
“We’re coming,” Aaron yelled, taking your hand and leading the way out.
When Rossi had said he was throwing a dinner party, you had thought it would be one of his famous pasta nights. Instead you found a garden decorated with fairy lights and a table full of expensive food and champagne bottles.
“Damn, what’s the occasion?” you said, grateful that Aaron pulled out a chair for you as you were distracted by the decorations.
“I’m rich,” David shrugged. “Why not spoil my friends?”
“No complaints from us,” Derek laughed.
“None at all,” Emily added, already taking a few bites out of a breadstick.
It seemed like everyone was in a good mood, and most of all, your boyfriend. Of course, you were happy about it, but it felt like you were not involved in an inside joke. Like everyone knew something you didn’t.
Left out, was the word. You somehow felt left out on the same evening that everyone’s attention seemed to be on you. You just didn’t know why.
Soon, the champagne bottles were open and your friends’ laughter filled the air around you. With their drinks in hand, they urged you to join them dancing, so you pulled Aaron by his hand to slow dance with him.
He looked so handsome, every line of his face begging to be kissed by you. You told him so, before kissing the spot behind his ear that always made him melt.
“Hey, easy now,” he whispered.
“Your new cologne has been driving me crazy,” you said, low enough so no one else would hear. “I want you.”
“Don’t worry,’ he said, softly, pressing his lips against your temple. “I have big plans for tonight.”
“You do?” you raised your eyebrow with a playful smile.
“Mhm…” he smirked and without dropping your left hand, he distanced himself from you, enough so he could get down on one knee.
You blinked slowly at him, realizing what he was about to do.
Breathing didn’t feel effortless anymore, and the feeling of everyone’s eyes suddenly on you got unbearable.
You looked down, finding the man you loved, staring at you with adoration. You saw a ring in his hand, sparkling, and waiting to be around your finger.
You saw a man you’d be proud to call your husband.
But you also saw a young girl who hadn’t figured out her life yet, being a wife to a grown up man who had already lived most of his. You saw a little boy calling you his mom, when you still felt like a kid yourself. You saw a life you weren’t ready for.
“Y/N…” Aaron said, maybe too focused on his speech to read your panicked expression. “You are the love of my life. My best friend, my partner, and the person I wanna spend the rest of my life with. There’s no one else I can imagine having by my side in this life. Will you do me the honor of becoming my Mrs. Hotchner?”
The silence from you was deafening even with that romantic song playing in the backround. You saw Aaron’s expression shift, as he realized that the ‘yes’ he was expecting was never coming.
“I can’t,” you whispered. “I’m so sorry, Aaron.” You pulled your hand away, letting Aaron’s drop to his side. “I can’t.”
You left him there, rushing back to your seat so you could grab your purse, wanting nothing more than to disappear. You didn’t dare to look at anyone’s faces, knowing you’d only see pure shock and judgment.
You cried in the back of a taxi all the way home, struggling to remember where you had last seen your suitcase, certain you’d be using it soon.
—
You look down at the phone in your hands.
“Yes, yes, a million times yes!” a lovely woman’s voice comes from your device. You watch as she lets Aaron slip a ring on her finger, and throws herself on him; a huge grin on her face just like on everyone else’s in that room. “Our boss man finally settled down. I love love <3” is Penelope’s caption on her post. You didn’t have the heart to unfollow her like you had everyone else from the bau. Well, she was the only one who hadn’t done it first to you anyway.
You hesitate to double tap on your screen to show your joy over your ex’s engagement. You’re not sure that’s how you feel. You’ve been thinking of him a lot, but - judging from the video you just watched - he isn’t.

night rain ; chapter 5
2022
The dreadful sound of Camila’s alarm sounded through her bedroom as the clock read 3:30. Pushing off of her mattress, she silenced it and slugged towards the bathroom. Today was the day of La Fame’s annual gala, where the food magazine company would invite all of their employees and their respective partners to dress up, drink and have a good time. Considering that Camila had never dated anyone since getting pregnant with Emelia, she always went to the event alone, rather deciding to spend her time catering at least one small dessert for it as it kept her busy but didn’t take too much of a toll on her. This year was no different as she was making about 500 tiny lemon cheesecakes that her coworkers had previously commended her for when she brought them to a strategy session once.
“Te quiero, mamá. And don’t forget to take Emmy to daycare before work, okay?” She whispered into her sleeping mother’s ear before kissing both her and Emilia goodbye.
The sky was still dark and the air was brisk as she walked the short commute to the bakery where she worked part-time, dragging along all of her ingredients in a large garden cart. She had asked the owner, Penelope if she could use the kitchen that day to prepare for the gala as they were always closed on Fridays. However, when Cam walked into the shop, she was shocked to see that the lights were on.
Walking further into the room, she saw a plump, older woman with black hair tied back to reveal the permanent scowl on her face. Pamela.
Pam wasn’t necessarily a worker at the place but she was always hanging around as Penelope’s sister-in-law that only ever got in the way. She’d watch Camila over her shoulder and even attempt to change recipes despite being reprimanded for it by every employee there. She’d try make her own recipes and give them to customers which always just resulted in bad reviews and mandatory refunds, she had no idea what she was doing. And yet she was here. Aggressively whisking something in a bowl and pacing around the kitchen that was covered in dozens of different ingredients that definitely would not taste good together. The kitchen’s workbenches were blanketed by multiple cookbooks, utensils and empty boxes, with nowhere for Cam to put her things.
“Uh, hey Pam. What are you doing here?”
“Baking, what do you think?” she replied with a certain irritation in her voice that told Camila that her recipe was already not going her way.
“Right, of course. It’s just, I already asked Penelope about a week ago if I could use the kitchen today to make something for an event I’m going to.”
“And that’s my problem, how?”
Camila was growing irritated. “It’s your problem because I booked this space and you’re hogging it with whatever disgusting potion you’re trying to concoct.”
“Excuse you? My brother pays for this building, so I will do as I please. Now you can grab your things and get out of my kitchen, young lady.”
The younger girl stood in shock for a second before turning around and walking out the backdoor, whispering curses under her breath.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck. You old piece of shit, fuck!” she huffed, kicking a dumpster in the alleyway which spread a sharp sting through her toe. “Ow, fuck!”
Camila didn’t know what to do. She had to make half a thousand stupid little cakes by six that evening and she had nowhere to do it. A thought crossed her mind and as much as she tried to push it away, it seemed like the best option and so she pulled out her phone from her back pocket. He probably didn’t even have the same number anymore and she doubted that he was awake but it didn’t hurt to try, right?
“Hello?”
Shockingly, she was greeted by an especially chipper and conscious voice.
“Hey! Carm, uh, I’m so sorry to call you so early.”
“It’s cool, are you…okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. I just, I know it’s short notice but is there any chance that I can use The Beef’s kitchen for a couple of hours today?”
“Yeah, actually, we’re not open today to cut down on labour hours, or at least I think that’s what Syd said. So, yeah you can come by. What do you need to do?”
“Make 500 mini cheesecakes by 6 PM.”
A beat.
“Do you need help?”
^^^^^^^^^
“So then she was like ‘My brother pays for this building, so I will do as I please.’ and actually kicked me out!”
“Are you kidding? Jesus, she sounds like a bitch.”
“She is, trust.” Camila laughed along with Carmy as they poured the cheesecake mixture into each of the tiny crusts.
After their phone call, Carmen rushed to shower and meet Cam at the sandwich shop in thirty minutes. They had been baking together for hours, catching up and listening to each other’s playlists. Camila had felt a little weird though about not being able to tell him about the biggest aspect that had taken over her life since she last saw him in New York, motherhood. They had been cracking jokes and engaging in banter for the past couple of hours but the conversation always conveniently avoided the topic of why she left. Carmy knew that he should probably be madder at her, more hurt. After she left, he was broken for a long time and because of that, refused the possibility of ever being with someone again. But she was Camila, he knew she would have never done that without a good reason and that was enough for him.
A phone pinged from the counter.
“Sydney forgot her knives so she’s coming here to get them in a few, by the way.”
“Oh, great!” she smiled. “She seems like a nice girl, driven.”
“Yeah, she doesn’t exactly let up. Once she’s set her mind to something, it’s difficult to slow her down.”
“Yeah, she reminds me of you.” Cam chuckled, making eye contact with Carmy from across the workbench.
“Oh yeah?” he laughed.
“Yeah.” She finished her batch of cheesecakes and both of them moved to stack them in the oven before going back to clean up.
“Carmen?” Sydney’s voice travelled from the front of house to the kitchen.
“Chef, come in. We’re in here.”
“We?” she questioned before seeing Camila grab a bunch of dirty bowls with the intent of going to wash them, but not before hugging the confused girl first.
“Hi, Syd. How have you been?”
“Hey, Cam. Good, how are you?” Her eyes bounced between Camila’s retreating figure and Carmy’s slightly red face as Sydney’s knowing smirk made him feel like he was a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
“On edge, constantly. But surviving nonetheless.” Cam laughed before settling into her station at the sink.
“So, what are you two doing? Alone?” She laughed in a hushed tone as Carmy’s face grew more red.
“What are you-what do you mean? I’m just helping her bake for a gala she’s going to later.”
“Right.”
“Aren’t you here to get your knives, Chef?”
“You’re no fun, Chef.”
“What up, lizards?” Richie’s voice boomed as we waltzed in through the backdoor. “Yo, where is everyone?”
“Cousin, what the fuck are you doing here?”
“I’m here to work, cuz. What else?”
“Richie, we’re closed today,” Syd interjected.
“What?”
“It was in the email that I sent everyone.”
“I don’t check my email, Sydney. I’m not a fucking loser.”
“You sure?” Camila quipped, prompting Richie to turn around and finally notice her.
“Mini? What are you doing here?” he smiled while ruffling her curls, which made her turn to splash soapy water at him.
“Why do you call her ‘Mini’?” Sydney asked.
“‘Cause she’s like a carbon copy of Tina, but smaller. Mini Tina.” he shrugged as if it was the most obvious thing in the world before turning to the girl in question. “But like actually, what’re you doin’ here?
“Carm was helping me make some cheesecakes for my work gala tonight.” she replied, turning back to the sink to get a particularly tough stain off of a spoon.
“Oh really?” Richie turned in the direction of Sydney and Carmen, mirroring the former’s smirk and wiggling his eyebrows.
“Alright, both of you, get the fuck out.” The latter finally spoke as he ushered the two out of the kitchen.
Carmy shoved the bag of knives from the counter into Sydney’s hands before shouting a bye and slamming the door in their faces and walking back into the kitchen, not before hearing a “They’re definitely gonna bone.” from behind it.
When he reentered, Camila had finished washing the dishes and moved to mopping the floors with a slight smirk on her face. Ignoring this, however, he cleared his throat and started to wipe down the counters. Just then, a song from Carmy’s playlist sounded from the speaker sitting on the shelf, ‘My Song’ by Labi Siffre.
Both of them froze up at this, pausing their actions immediately. At first glance, one could easily see the effect that this song had on them but what they wouldn’t know was the extent of how special to them it was.
And I wonder
If you know what it means
To find your dreams come true
The melody had seen countless moments of Camila trying to teach Carmy to slow dance, half-naked in the living room.
And sometimes you don’t hear me
But you don’t have to be near me
To know that I’m singing
Trying each other’s new recipe ideas and laughing together when they failed.
This is my song
And nothing can make it die
And innocent showers filled with washing each other’s hair while mouthing the lyrics against one another’s lips.
That as long
As I live
I will sing my song for you
As the song ended, the two realised that their bodies had subconsciously forced them to face one another, and there they stood. Eyes locked from across the room and sad smiles pasted onto their faces. They stood there as such for a long time before finally being snapped out of it by the timer of the oven. As they both realised what just happened, they rushed to get the small desserts out of the oven without words before transferring each of them to cooling racks.
“So, uh,” Camila broke the silence first. “I was thinking. Since you were so helpful today, if you wanted to reap the benefits of that and maybe come with me to the gala? As my plus one.”
“I mean, I normally go to these things alone so I was just thinking I’d switch it up a bit.” she laughed nervously before looking up at Carmen, who had a completely dumbfounded look on his face but said nothing.
“God, never mind, I’m sorry. That was stupid-”
[Wait, Cam. No, that’s not what I-]
[-and weird, I’m sorry. Of course, you don’t want to, I-]
[-just didn’t want you to feel like you had to just because-]
[-don’t know what I was thinking. I just-]
“Camila!”
The curly-haired woman swiftly stopped rambling.
“I would love to go with you.”
“Really?” she asked as a smile spread across her face.
“Yeah,” he laughed. “I’ll pick you up at 8?”
“Actually, it starts at seven but I have to be there a little earlier so I’ll pick you up at 6:15?”
“Yeah.” he smiled shyly.
“Cool.”
^^^^^^^^^
Camila smoothed out her dress as she stared at herself in the mirror. She donned a strapless, pastel green dress with floral embroidery that seeped from the top of the dress, topped with gold jewellery. Her hair was clipped up into an elegant bun on top of her head and a few curls were left out to frame her face. She felt beautiful, desirable even. There was nothing necessarily promiscuous about her appearance, other than the high slit of the skirt, but for the first time in a while, Camila actually felt attractive. After having Emilia, her body expectedly went through many changes and it took her a while to recover a healthy relationship with her figure and now here she was. Not just glancing at her form to avoid scrutinising it too much but actually looking at it. She felt proud.
Her phone pinged from her bed as she moved to read it.
[Camila]
Do you even have a suit, Berzatto?
Read
[Carmy]
I can’t believe you would even ask me that.
(I just borrowed one from Chi-Chi)
The brown-skinned girl laughed at this before hearing a small voice from below her.
“Wow! Mama, you look so pretty!” Emelia giggled as she looked up at her mother in awe.
“Awh,” Camila fawned, picking the toddler up. “Thank you, princess. You’re so sweet.”
“Oh, cariño. You look beautiful.” Tina said from the doorway. Quickly, the younger woman noticed the tears in her mother’s eyes.
“Mom, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, Mija. It’s just that your father would be so proud of you. He was always dreaming big for your future, he would have loved to see you now. Practically running one of the biggest magazines in the world, still finding time to stay with your passions, and raising the most extraordinary, gentle child that I have ever met. This is what he wanted for you, Camila. All he wanted was for you to be happy like this.”
Malik Dominic Ivy was thirty-two when he died in a drunk driving accident. He died just a month before Camila was born which meant that she never got to meet her father. This fact also meant that Tina had to take on the responsibility of raising a newborn while simultaneously grieving the love of her life. Expectedly, this caused some strain between Cam and her mother during her childhood rooted in the latter’s trauma, before she finally grew to understand how difficult and painful it must have been for the older woman to have to take care of a baby that reminded her so deeply of the man she had recently lost.
Camila’s main knowledge of her father stemmed from the stories that her mother would tell her, of romantic dates, funny incidents and more. It was through them that she felt as if she understood her dad and how much she meant to him. Even before she had developed a heartbeat, she was all he thought about. What she would achieve, how she would grow, how she would love, he thought of it all. When Camila thought about her own daughter, her mind would often shift to Malik. She would frequently doubt the decisions she made regarding Emilia’s relationship with Carmen. Was it really fair for her to keep the child from him when she knew what it was like to be robbed of time with her own dad? The first time she had that thought, she concluded that it wasn’t and picked up the phone to search him up and call. However, when she saw that Carmy had recently received an award for his work, it stopped her in her tracks. She remembered why she couldn’t do that to him and put down the phone. Even so, the entire thought broke her heart.
Cam brought her free hand up to wipe the tears from her eyes as she cried softly in her mother’s arms.
“I’m so sorry that you never got to meet him, mi corazón. Sé que no es justo, lo siento.”
[I know that it isn’t fair, I’m sorry]
The young girl pulled back after collecting herself to see that the small child in her arms had also begun to tear up.
“Bear, what’s wrong?”
“You guys were crying and it made me sad.” Emmy said, beginning to cry more while attempting to dry her mother’s tears.
“Aw, hun.” Camila mumbled into her hair after kissing it.
Tina took the toddler from Cam’s arms before speaking. “I’ll make sure that she’s okay. Finish getting ready and fix your makeup.”
“Have a great time, Camila,” she continued. “And tell Jeff to have you back by 11.”
As the two walked out of Camila’s room, she heard Emmy’s voice ask her grandmother a question.
“Who’s Jeff?”

How much do you love and miss your husband<3 Tell us about him :))
Odysseus! Oh, where do I begin
Like most men I’ve met, he was originally one of Helen’s many, many suitors. I’m not really jealous (not anymore); everyone just knew she was the prettier one, and I would just have to cope with that. Anyways, while my father and I were attempting to calm the crowd, I met Odysseus of Ithaca. I believe he was 16 at the time? A bit younger than most of the suitors, but there was something about him that caught my attention.
He didn’t look like the others—no lavish clothes or fine jewels. He was simpler, almost rustic. Yet, when he spoke, he had a confidence that rivaled even the oldest and boldest of them. He wasn’t there to flaunt or brag about his lineage or wealth. Instead, he was trying to strike deals with the other suitors, making bets about who Helen would choose, all with that playful smirk of his. It was as if he knew he had no chance, but he wasn’t going to let that stop him from having a bit of fun.
I remember watching him, the way he leaned against a pillar with a relaxed grin, talking to one of the kings who looked utterly baffled by his charm. It was strange; I’d never seen anyone approach this whole chaotic mess with such... levity. While the others were sizing each other up, ready to draw blood for a glance from Helen, Odysseus was gambling and joking like he was at a feast rather than a competition.
Later that evening, when he realized he had lost every bet he made, he came over to me. I was sitting at the edge of the hall, hiding behind a column and hoping the crowd wouldn’t notice me. And then there he was, this young, scrappy suitor who had lost everything he’d wagered but still had that roguish grin plastered on his face. He offered me a cup of wine and said, 'Since I've already lost my fortune tonight, I might as well gamble my time with the most mysterious lady in the room.'
I nearly choked on my drink. Most of the men there hadn’t even noticed me, let alone approached me with such boldness. I laughed then, for the first time that night. There was something about him that was different—less concerned with the spectacle of it all and more interested in the quiet moments that everyone else seemed to overlook.
He had this way of seeing people, of seeing me. He didn’t just look at me; he looked into me, as if he could peel back the layers of what was expected and find the real Penelope underneath. It was unsettling and yet... I craved more of it.
The next few weeks, we talked whenever we could steal a moment away from the chaos. He told me stories about Ithaca, a place I had only heard of in passing. It wasn’t grand like Sparta or regal like Mycenae. It was small, rugged, a place of cliffs and olive trees and hardy fishermen. But the way he spoke of it, with such love and affection, made me fall for it too. Made me fall for him.
Odysseus was clever, even back then. He saw the world as a game to be played, and he was always one step ahead, weaving his way through conversations and situations like it was all one of his famed schemes. But there was a softness to him as well. He was patient with me, even when I was cold or distant, even when I made cutting remarks to push him away. He waited. He watched. And he listened, truly listened, in a way few men ever have.
And so, when the time came for Helen to choose, and the crowd had thinned, he found me once more. He hadn’t asked for my hand yet, hadn’t even hinted at it. Instead, he knelt before me, not with a declaration of love, but with a quiet question: 'Would you come with me, Penelope? I have no riches or promises of glory, but I swear I will make you laugh every day, even if it means I have to act the fool.'
And that was all I needed to hear.

So we just got back from wrestle bash and we had SUCH a good time.
Beanie got to meet willow who as soon as she saw Beanie she gave her the biggest grin and had her hands on her hips and said “now whose this?” Beanie told her her real name and we told her how excited Beanies been all week to meet willow and she like put her hands to her chest and made the aww so sweet face. Beanie picked which photo she wanted signed (not the one I wanted but w.e It’s for her) and we all took a pic together. Willow had jeans with large holes in them so I could see the tape on her knees and asked if it would be better for me to pick Beanie up so she didn’t have to bend down and she kept waving it off saying she’s fine it’s for the swelling and then did like a little twerk to show her knees were good which had me cracking up and as someone afraid to take photos these came out great. Beanie got a hug and told her to keep kicking butt and willow said that for her she will.
Next to willows table was Kip and Penelope who I wanted autos and pics with. Kip said the photo I picked is his favorite one. And as he was getting up me and penelope talked a bit and I told her how much I love her makeup cause she was talking bout the makeup in her photo. I told her I attempted to do that style but well 🤷♀️ and she said she thought I looked great and that for the bottom she doesn’t use eye makeup she actually uses lipstick and I was FLABBERGASTED like lipstick on your eyes but she swears by it and says she puts just a bit and then like blends it under her lid and showed me on her eyes and Kip was just watching her and smiling and ya’ll this man is in LOVE and like I do not blame him. We took the photos I thanked them and my husband was just whispering to me saying they should date cause they’re beautiful and I told him good news they’re actually married and he just nodded and was like that’s probably the most beautiful man he’s ever seen and I’m nodding like yup Kip is the prettiest guy I’ve ever seen.
Next to them was colt but he was filming and we nopped outta there. The lucha brothers and Alex were all together and had a long line next to the speakers which will come into play in a bit. On the other side of the speakers was thunderrosa. The one guy who used to be with swerve was there the one without the face tats. And Athena and Alicia fox were there and hugging each other which was so sweet. JR bischoff sabu rhino and diamond Dallas page were in the large room and ddp had the longest line going through the room and out into the hotels hallway. In the other room was billy Gunn who also had a long line and beanie was now getting hungry and tired of walking so I said well I’m broke we can go but hubby said no and gave me money for beanie and I to take a pic with Ethan. Now I’m stoked
So we get on Ethan’s line we’re the third people on line. Whoever is in the front is giving him gifts buying everything at the table taking pics like they’re making memories and paying for everything so good for them. The issue is it’s Ethan’s table earl hebner and then the lucha brothers with the speakers next to them. Someone keeps going on the speakers trying to hype up the room saying which wrestlers just showed up etc and it’s a hotel conference room like the acoustics are not great in here and we didn’t bring Beanies noise canceling headphones. So we’re covering her ears, she’s hot from standing it’s now 15 mins with the people still with Ethan and talking to him and I’m like let’s just go. Hubby says no you are making your memories. So we stay the lady in front of us thankfully has heard the convo and us trying to keep beanie from crying cause when she cries the the face and photos are red. So it’s our turn beanie tells me she doesn’t want to take a picture I say fine is it okay of I do it alone she says sure. I tell Ethan just a photo and just with me beanie doesn’t want to take a picture anymore and do like a little shrug. YA’LL this is where shit got bad but great. This man whose almost as tall as her own daddy and has a big booming voice opens his arms and yells out to my 5 year old “YOU DONT WANT A PICTURE WITH ME!”
I’m staring at Ethan and his face drops as soon as he says it cause beanie screams runs and hides behind her daddy’s legs. I’m looking at Ethan like
I said you have a daughter! He yells back I KNOW I REALIZED I MESSED UP AS SOON AS I SAID IT!
Now he’s trying to talk lower beanie is not here for ANY of it and I’m still like dude you have kids and he hangs his head and is like I should know better why didn’t I know better! So we take the picture I tell him I loved egos amigos and miss it and he’s like oh you mean when they tried to cancel me? I said forget about that I’m talking bout the interview with Bryce and Eddie and his eyes light up and I said I have listened to that interview on repeat so many times when I’m chilling or drawing or whatever so ty because without you I’d never know Eddie loves tigger and he laughs gives me a big hug and said yeah he’s a huge tig fan and said I don’t know why people open up to me but they do and I stare up at him he’s very tall and very pretty and I just New York honesty say “maybe it’s the Canadian thing you’re safe and friendly.” He throws his head back and starts laughing and I’m staring at him and I’m like… oh no he’s really freaking pretty. So he tries to talk to beanie again who now seeing the pretty man laugh and smile is no longer hiding but she refused to take a picture with him so he gave her a little Ethan page toy and she said ty and he apologized again and asked if she’s mad at him she said no we can be friends but no more yelling and he agreed and they fist bumped.
So we’re leaving and beanies had ENOUGH (idk what she thinks is gonna happen at nycc cause she’s too big for a stroller so like the kid is in for it) and as we’re making our way through the parking lot Kip is coming back from his car and I said bye Kip have a good weekend he blows a kiss said ty love and I just went for it and asked if we’ll see him in London and he goes yyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeee… maybe? Does like a finger gun thing and we laughed and he went back inside. All in all a very fun day great memories. For a con we didn’t know existed until two days ago I’m glad we went.

Flowers - Spencer Reid
Warnings - tooth rotting fluff. Seriously, this is soooo cute I was giggling and blushing so much writing this!!
Authors note- I loved this so much and I wanna write more for Reid cause the amount if times of watched Criminal Minds is outrageous - love, star 💜
“Yeah I don’t know, my apartment had just been feeling very bare. I don’t have many decorations.” Y/n told Emily, JJ, and Penelope, they were talking about their homes and sharing decor ideas for the spring. As Spencer walked by he overheard Y/N say this and he got an idea.
“Oh really?” Emily said, trying to get more information out of Y/N. Y/N didn’t really share much about herself, not feeling like one with the group.
Y/N wasn’t new in her field having been an FBI agent for years at this point, but she is a transfer from the FBI unit in Puerto Rico so she felt a little out of place.
“Yeah my apartment is quite dull since i just moved in, i was thinking of getting a bouquet for my apartment you know?” Y/N continued, feeling happy that she felt like they wanted to get to know her, not as an FBI agent, but as a friend.
“Ooo sounds cute” JJ and Penny had said at the same time. Hotch then sent a message saying they could all head out because they have a long day ahead of them.
Spencer has had eyes for her since she walked through those glass doors of the FBI unit in Quantico. As the day started to wrap up and everybody was ready to say their goodbyes and clock out, Spencer and Y/N made eye contact. This was normal for them seeing as they work together and are somewhat close, but what wasn’t normal was the way they held it, there was a sense of longing and devotion in his eyes that was unmatched, Y/N didn’t know how to feel, she broke the eye contact and said her goodbyes.
As Y/N was driving home she started to zone out, she just couldn’t forget about the way that Spencer was looking at her. It made her feel like he would do anything for her even though they have only shared the most basic details of their life, often not having time to share anything else having to chase down the current unsub of their case.
She got home and showered, ready to watch some Yarichin Bitch Club but then she heard a knock at her front door. As she opened the door she was greeted with a wonder full sight. Spencer had brought her a bouquet of flowers, beautiful really.
“Spencer hey what is all of this?” Y/N said in a cheerful yet surprised tone. She really like Spencer and she almost didn’t know how to act when she saw him.
“ I overheard you saying that your apartment looked a little… bare so, I got you some flowers to make it more decorated,” Spencer said, he wasn’t sure if you were allergic to any of the flowers but he was hoping you weren’t.
“Spencer thank you so much” Oh my god. Y/N thought her heart was going to explode. She really wanted to kiss him right now.
“Here,” he said breaking her out of her thoughts, she grabs the flowers,
“Please, come in,” she said, she didn’t want to leave him out there or ask him to leave.
As Y/N was putting the flowers into a vase and onto her counter he made himself comfortable.
“Do you want to watch a movie? I can make popcorn!” She asked him, wanting him to stay a little longer.
“Sure!” He was all ready to stay over and strengthen the relationship, he couldn’t do it anymore, pretending that all was good and his heart didn’t pop out of his chest every time she spoke to him was exhausting. As they sit down, a little tense at first due to this being the first time they are in such close contact, they slowly get closer and closer till they start to cuddle. Spencer lays his head on Y/Ns blanket covered thighs and Y/N starts to run her hands through his hair. Soon Y/N hears spencers slow breaths and checks to find that he has fallen asleep. So with that Y/N slowly lets sleep take her after reflecting on the very eventful and comfortable evening.
