had a pretty intense and genuinely embarrassing truecrime girly phase through like her late teens/college. probably would have started a podcast if shed had the ability at the time.

i think that and her desire to pursue a career in psychiatry/work at arkham sorta stem from this same root interest in like understanding why certain people commit violent crimes which was well-intended but ultimately came from a kind of ableist place. like she always sympathized really heavily with the people in her care but also like subconsciously saw a lot of them as these poor lost little lambs that needed her help rather than full complex human beings and thats what kinda fucked her in the end.

generally an empathetic person. tends to take on other peoples burdens. sometimes to an unhealthy degree.

i think her and bruce actually have a lot in common in that regard and when theyre not actively at odds they vibe p well for that and other reasons. also shes just the sort of person whos rly easy to get along with. she may one of if not the only rogue who none of the others rly has any lasting beef with.

bi and poly (this is basically canon anyway). i feel like some ppl tend to act as if shes only ever dated the joker and pamela but i def think shes been in and out of a lot of relationships over the years, some better than others.

she has a bad habit of 1) finding kinda messed up power dynamics a lil sexy and 2) harboring some serious "i can fix them" energy when it comes to her more obviously misguided crushes. she likes the security of a partner who she feels like will take care of her but who still relies on her emotionally and unfortunately some people use that to take advantage.

i dont know if she would necessarily consciously identify as a Femme but like. she soo is.

this is like more related to my specific dyke scarecrow au than anything canon but i see them as old exes. in true dyke fashion, they have stayed good friends in spite of the breakup. take this one or leave it but either way i like the two of them as besties soo much.

has always struggled with this impulse towards violence especially when shes feeling restless or manic. (i say struggled but shes probably having a blast with it now) i think in the past she was very self conscious about this (especially when she was newly out and trying very hard to be perceived as feminine) and tried very hard to present herself as someone self contained and in control. for better or for worse, shes much happier when shes allowed to be a force of chaos.

lowkey had a weeb phase. still very much loves j-fashion and magical girl anime. plays some video games but largely prefers the feel of a big clunky cabinet arcade game over a home console. its the buttons, the lights, the ability to loudly and dramatically tip the whole thing over if youre mad enough about losing. has watched mlp. fav is pinkie pie. obviously.

there is an aspect of her like hyper girly almost childish persona which is kind of a performance. like. it is her to a degree, but its also kind of a coping mechanism. almost like a form of drag, shes leaning into the stereotype to get a rise out of people or to protect herself. sometimes both at once. the few people who really know her well enough will start to notice little tells to differentiate when shes really feeling the vibe and when shes deliberately putting on a show.

has definitely given herself a shit haircut/dye job while in a depression spiral.

generally its just like. she feels so so so so so much all the time like oh my god make it stop for two seconds.

thinkin abt lilliths route so have some general thoughts on it and also facts abt charlie and lillith

for the shit yourself and die end charlie Will rock the players shit regardless of how theyre treating lillith outside of his questions . you could be on a path that would otherwise lead you to the good end and be treating them perfectly fine but if you tell him hes not allowed to spy on the dates he Will come beat your ass anyway because he feels youre untrustworthy. because why else would you not want him coming along right /s

also while lillith spends a Grand Majority of their time at the morgue, they own a house Somewhere. charlie is the only person who knows where it is. speaking of charlie he actively lives At the morgue, theres a locked door in his office that leads to a kinda suite-like area that he stays in. when hes not in there the key to it is kept in one of his desk drawers but if youre not one of the two workers there at the morgue and he catches you trying to get in he Will eviscerate you

i wanted to maybe have a scene where you sit charlie down and be like hey. lillith is literally almost 30 chill out with the helicopter parenting but i realized hed weasel his way out of it . the route isnt about fixing him anyway so its fine hes good as he is methinks /j

also there is technically an (1) time where lillith would actually Speak . and its in their bad end in which they chase the player out of the morgue. they would have exactly one (1) line of telling the player that theyre nothing to them before they attack . but its important to note that if the route had any sort of voice acting this would be the time its used and it would be So Fucked. lillith doesnt speak because they have damaged vocal chords and doing so is Incredibly Painful for them. so if it were to be voice acted it would sound incredibly strained and raspy and horrible

despite being Like That neither are outwardly violent unless pushed past a certain limit. usually charlie doesnt want to bother putting the effort forward and lillith has a good amount of restraint on their physical outbursts when they try. they both prefer psychological violence over physical

it would be pretty clear through the route that charlie does care a lot about lillith and kinda just wants whats best for them he just unfortunately has a really borked way of going about it. hes not about to try and hide that either if you asked him about it hed just be like "of course i care for them :) thats my assistant theyre like an offspring to me". lillith views him as a dad too except they wouldnt ever let that on via words or anything as they pretty much exclusively call him their boss/mr steiner and only really act casual with him when its just he and them hanging out but yk thats how it is

I'm a landlord and /I/ don't have the access to the apartment. I have a set of keys for emergencies- emergencies that THE TENANTS CALL ME FOR. I have never in 10 years stepped in an occupied apartment without the tenant being the one to let me in.

Honestly these things are why renting (besides the fact that everyone should have a housing for free but alas) needs to be a citizen-handled thing. When you're renting from a person you can make arrangements with that person, arrangements that fit you in particular. And if the landlord is shitty, it is easier to fight with a person than a company. When an apartment complex is owned by a company that rents out whole buildings, they are powerful enough to make it their way or high way. Places where it is average citizens renting out property don't have that BS because you try to rent sky high? You want to barge in whenever, act like you live there? Fine, there are 100s other places they can go to that /don't/ do that shit.

I honestly can't tell if you're mad at me? But I guess I should explain the situation since people are seeing it? The person who entered was a maintenance man who was called in to do work, they just gave him the wrong apartment number and when I didn't answer the door he most likely assumed no one was home and walked in. Again, I think them having access is shitty in the first place but in this scenario, it wasn't random, he was there to fix something, he just had the wrong place.

There are pros and cons to citizen controlled renting and company controlled renting! I've lived in both and right now it's company controlled but it honestly comes down to personal preference. I think (agree with you on free housing but also alas) if companies are going to be in charge of renting, there should just be stricter rules on what they can and can't do (and the proper enforcing to make sure they follow them). Because again there are pros and cons to both. I've never had an issue with the owners/office people barging in, it's always the maintenance crew. I was talking to someone about this and apparently, it's actually pretty common in apartment renting for maintenance people to have access.

you wear it on your right hand with the heart facing out when youre at home because you don’t want your parents to know you have a boyfriend. and then when youre out with dympna you wear it with the heart facing towards you.

and sometimes you’ll catch him looking down at your interlocked fingers and he sees the ring, and theres just this soft smile ghosting over his lips knowingly. knowing anyone who sees it will know your his.

cleo knight for the character bingo ?!

THANK YOU FOR THIS ASK I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT CLEO EARLIER TODAY!

Every time she appears is such a delight, and I think she has the best debut out of any Snicketverse character! telling dr flammarion off and making it so HES scared of HER?? even though he kidnapped her??? just *chef’s kiss*

Cleo has such great fashion sense, her style is very distinct with her black and white stripes and glasses and beret, it’s just so cool! I’ve been wondering if the pink accents in her outfits could represent her difference from her family? (she wears black, white, and pink, which contrasts with her families’ black and white thinking? something like that, i havent figured it out quite yet.)

I don’t think we can talk about Cleo without mentioning Jake, because wow, what a power couple! aside from being sooo cute, they bring out the best in one another. Cleo’s calm gentleness toward him and Jake’s admiration of her work so well. Both of them tend to be the people who look out for the rest of the associates the most, and their different personalities make the perfect blend. And from the way they stayed together despite Cleo’s parents objecting shows that they can get through hardships in a healthy way. They don’t mind giving each other space and aaaah,,,,,,, theyre SO good for each other!!!! I don’t often ship canon couples, but Jake/Cleo isn’t even a ship to me. It’s just a fact lol

Cleo and Moxie are another dynamic I love. Since Cleo met Moxie, she’s been looking out for her. ofc there was that whole Knife Thing, but the way she helped Moxie drink coffee in book three, kicked Stew in the shins when he tried to steal her notes, and just casually makes sure she’s okay all the time is so sweet. Especially since Moxie doesn’t really like to be doted on, the way Cleo doesn’t make it a big deal is v good. cleo saw moxie lying on the floor of the colophon clinic and said “is anyone gonna be an older sister figure to her?” and didnt wait for an answer.

The only catch with Cleo is just how cool she is! theres so much more I want to see of her!!

Cleo’s complicated relationship with her parents is v interesting. We don’t really get much info about them, but I would say Cleo’s parents liked her, but they didn’t get her. The way bought her everything she wanted but only called her Miss Knight? they were so strict about her not dating Jake that they had to hide their relationship from the entirety of town but then didn’t come back to Stain’d-by-the-Sea after learning she’d been kidnapped?

They liked the ambitious and fashionable chemist trying to save the town, but weren’t interested in her as a person. Cleo says she loved her parents, and maybe that’s true, but I believe she only liked a certain side of them. and thats well within her rights because her parents kind of suck lol.

Zada and Zora got closer, but judging by how they also called her Miss Knight, even when they’ve known her all their lives, and how they didn’t defy Mr. and Mrs. Knight to help Cleo, there was still some distance between them.

Since Mr. Knight was the one who decided to drain the sea in the first place, does Cleo feel responsible as his daughter to fix the town? Zada and Zora mention that Cleo likely inherited her chemistry abilities from her grandmother, who founded Ink Inc. Were they close? Why did her parents hire Dr Flammarion in the first place?

In my opinion, Cleo and Ellington’s relationship wasn’t explored enough considering how big a plot point it was in book two. I get it tho -- for story reasons it wouldn’t make sense for Ellington to have anyone other than Lemony. Personally, I see Cleo as who Ellington could have been if she had a reliable support system. Both of them are some of the most ambitious characters in all of Snicketverse, they’re both independent and distrustful of everyone except those they’re closest to, and they both feel responsible for others’ safety. (Ellington with her father and Cleo with the associates as a whole.) 

The difference is Jake. All the associates, but especially him. Jake is always supporting Cleo and when he rescues her in book two, Cleo isn’t surprised. She knows she has someone who has her back, and meanwhile Ellington knows she’s on her own. So while Cleo works out plans with her friends when things get difficult, Ellington does whatever comes to mind, no matter the cost. 

In book two, her invisible ink was made out to be something revolutionary, but after that it’s not brought up as much as I wish it would be. Lemony and the associates are saving the town from immediate danger, but ultimately she’s their last hope. Even if they defeat Hangfire, Stain’d-by-the-Sea will eventually become a ghost town if she doesn’t finish her formula. That’s a lot of pressure! I wish we got to see Cleo’s progress or the logistics of it. If it worked in book two but Flammarion messed it up, what does she still have to do? What did the Inhumane Society want with the invisible ink, anyway? 

Something that I don’t see talked about very often is how impulsive Cleo gets in fast-paced situations. How she agreed to have Ellington cosplay her and go around town while seemingly asking very few questions of Ellington, the way Jake had to talk her out of jumping onto the train? I think the difference is kind of funny, how she’s usually so logical but anytime she has to come up with anything on the spot shes like “hmm this might work!! no guarantee we’ll survive but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. :)”

A/N: This Will Be My Last Free Fanfic. This was the last thing I am accepting as an unpaid fanfiction writer. Im sorry it took a little while, I've been busy. And honestly I was surprised that I had never done this prompt before??? Thank you for the request 💕

P.s. This is litterally so late I'm ashamed. When I recieved this request and decided to stop taking requests I was at a really dark place and yknow fanfic writing takes a back seat. So again, I apologize to anon and everyone that has supported me.

How could he? How could be just sit there, twirling his stupid drum sticks as he talked with his stupid friends about something even stupider? At first you thought he was planning something special to ask you. Like chocolates or flowers or a big banner saying something cheesy like: "Rock on to Prom with me?" All the other girls were getting asked!

And your boyfriend, just sat there. Prom was approaching quickly and if he didnt ask you soon, how were you supposed to coordinate your outfits? Did Rodrick even own a tux? You were doubtful. You sat next to him on the bench before the first bell, your blood boiling as the thought consumed you.

Did he even want to go to prom with you? Did he even want you? Did you mean anything to him? Clearly not if he's not going to ask you.

You watched him laugh with his friends before his head swiveled to your brooding gaze. That dumb smile of his still plastered to his face. He starred at you for a second before speaking.

"What?" He asked dumbly.

"Hmph!" You huffed before plucking yourself up from you seat and walking away. Rodrick's smile dropped. He looked at his friends and shrugged.

You tried to avoid him the rest of the day, which was hard because you had social studies together second period, and usually he copied your homework. But not today. Today you sat far, far away from that heartless jerk. He watched you enter with a dumb smile, expecting you to sit next to him as usually. But you turned the other cheek and sat across the room. Rodrick looked confused, he looked at the chair next to him and back at you with a sheepish scowl. That fool.

You hid at lunch so he wouldn't find you, and you decided to walk home that day so you wouldn't have to suffer an awkward ride home from him. You didn't need his charity. As you walked, you heard the faint putter of a certain vehicle. You knew that sound a mile away. You tried to walk faster but it didnt help, soon that stupid spray painted fan was right on your tail.

"Hey..." Rodrick called from the drivers side, "why are you ignoring me?" He called.

"I'm not ignoring you." You spat with your head help high in defiance.

"Yeah you are! You've been ignoring me all day!" His head swayed back and forth from the road to you. You continued to ignore him. "Aw c'mon Y/N! At least let me drive you home!" You didn't speak. "Please, just talk to me! I'll do anything!" He whined like a sad dog. "Did I do something wrong again? Just tell me, I'll fix it!" You stopped and starred at him with rage burning in your eyes.

"If you really cared about me, you'd have already fixed it!" You shouted beforr stomping off again.

"Fixed what!? What did I do!?" Rodrick cried after you with a sad and fustrated huff. He watched you turn the corner to your house disappear inside.

That night, you cried into your pillow as you though about him. You wiped away mascara stained tears as you starred fondly of a picture of the two of you together. That was the night he first ask you out, after his band played a show. Suddenly you heard a tapping at your window.

Rodrick stood there in your backyard, tossing pebbles at your window. By the time you opened it to call down to him, you watched him stumble back in surprise as he tossed down a rock that more than likely shattered the glass. Lucky you.

"What do you want!?" You hissed ar him.

"I'm sorry!" He shouted.

"Shhhhhh sshhut up! Everyones asleep!" You shouted, in a hushed tone.

"I'm sorry! I..I brought you some flowers!" He hushed back, holding up a handful of harshly picked and bruised flowers he definitely got from his mother's garden. You sighed.

"Fine...come up." You walked back to your room and watched Rodrick climb up the tree beside your window and crawl like a turtle into your room with a loud thud. "Do you even know what you're apologizing for?" You scoffed at him.

"For hurting your feelings?" He asked as he stood from his place on the floor.

"No!- well, yes, but do you know how you hurt my feelings?" He took a look pause.

"No." You huffed in disbelief.

"Prom, Rodrick! You never asked me to be your date to prom!" Yknow, that sounded a lot more dramatic and heartwrenching in your head. He starred at you for a moment and then slowly he face scrunched up in confusion.

"What?" He asked, slowly walking towards you. "You're mad at me, because I didn't ask you, my girlfriend, to prom?" It sounded worse when he said it. He turned your head and crossed your arms.

"...yes." He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair as he shook his head.

"But your my girlfriend, so obiviously we're going together!"

"Well how am I supposed to know that, you never brought it up!"

"Neither did you!"

"But you're the one thats supposed to ask me to the prom! You're supposed to prompose!" You shouted.

"Why would I when I thought we were already going together!?"

"Because its what your supposed to do!" You didn't realize how close he was. You didn't realize how much taller he was than you or how his hands reached out and grabbed your face. You didn't have time to move until it was already too late. His lips were on your lips and your hands were in his hair and his hands let go of your face to wrap around you in a passionate embrace.

His chest heaved as he took deep and powerful breaths in between kisses. You shuffled back as you fell on the twin bed behind you. You moaned as his hands reached up your pajamas. His cold fingers ran across your warm flesh and his hims began to buck against yours.

Soon clothes were flying and your heart raced frantically. You craved him, unable to think of anything but him, anything but this. Right here, right now. Horomones raged on as he frantically unbuckled him belt and threw his pants down. His erection sorung free, eager and ready to please you. He slid a condom over his length and without missing a beat, leaned over you for another fevered kiss before entering. You gasped and threw your head back as it began. Your hands clawed at his back as he started to thrust into you. At first it was nice and steady but they got harder and faster as the tention built inside you.

He buried his face into the crook of your neck and let out helpless grunts and moans of your name. His muscles tensed as you felt him get closer and closer to his limit. Just a little more, just a few more sloppy, deep thrusts and you were done for. He reached a hand down to pleasure you further as his angle changed, hitting you perfectly. You came undone and around him. His jaw dropped and he gasped as a few more thrusts pushed him over.

aAAA the joy of seeing an update on your current favorite fanfic is just aAAA

I always felt that kiwami 1s Nishiki was just a bit too,, I dont know how to describe it; but essentially he just felt off, granted yakuza 1 is a product of its time and therefore the plot is a bit dated and whack as all hell

The way you write Nishiki just feels so much better and realistic; in the original he just seems so uncaring towards Kiryu? which just feels kinda OOC? You'd think he still cares about Kiryu despite it all, especially when you take Yakuza 0 into consideration; and i feel like you portray Nishiki much more accurately

I never thought much about Yumi, because honestly, in the original she was kinda just, there? You actually made her a very interesting person! like I'm actually invested in her in your story! (side note you ever think about her clone who got tortued and died? yeah who WAS that???? thats never brought up is it??)

Theres so much more to talk about but in short; This is the best fix it/rewrite of a game plot I have read to date and it brings me joy in my current stressful school life. and no I will not stop praising it or the author, because this work has made me very happy. ;)

I just have a gift for picking favorites that end up dying,,aand another favorite of mine is Mine

imo theres a lack of soft, reassuring Minedai, i just feel like he'd need a reminder that people love him as a person and not just for the money he can provide, even if its obvious

CARP, thank you for this <3 this is so sweet!!!!! I’m so happy you enjoy my Nishiki! I had fun playing with what Yakuza 0/the Kiwami additions gave us about Nishiki’s personality and outlook on the world, and trying to reconcile that with the plot that Yakuza 1 initially had. Ultimately, I fell on the side that you did: even if Nishiki’s ambition took him down a monstrous path, I don’t think he’s the sort of person who neglects to pay back his debts. And he’s aware of the huge debt he owes Kiryu. Not to mention, their bonds of trust and love vanishing completely because of jealousy felt unreal to me. Their relationship becoming twisted or strange? Yes, but vanishing entirely felt unsatsifying to me. 

And Yumi!! I had so much fun excavating her character from the clues we get of her in canon. I worry sometimes, that she’s unrecognizable, because you know, I’ve given her a college education, and a whole bunch of interests beyond hostessing alone, but people seem to like it and like her, which is great!! I hate fridging women characters, so keeping her and Reina alive was important to me, hahaha. (RE: fake!Mizuki, there’s this substory in Kiwami that actually addresses who she was, BUT IT’S EVEN MORE HORRIFYING. So that’s why Yumi in my fic is the one captured and tortured by Nishiki’s men, because the thought of this poor innocent woman getting dragged into the mess was just untenable to me.)  

Anyway, thank you for your support and kind words, and I hope you’ll continue to read and that my fic can continue to relieve stress. I--tried to write this about Mine, but Daigo kind of stole the spotlight a little??? I hope you still like it--if not, I will try a ficlet from Mine’s perspective too. I enjoy minedai a lot, but I haven’t had room to think out their dynamic yet, so this took me a while. 

Daigo’s no stranger to being desired. He’s attractive, he knows this—his mother’s beauty lives in his veins, and he’s always had the money to look after himself. Fancy soaps to wash his face, the invisible retainers to keep his teeth straight, fancy suits and skin-tight shirts to show off his frame. For all that Kiryu insists his charisma is something that comes from the soul, Daigo knows it wouldn’t be able to draw the sort of attention he does without being attractive.

Which is to say that Daigo’s not especially thrown off by the intensity of Mine’s gaze. It’s happened before, and it’ll happen again. The thing that surprises him is how much he relishes in being seen by Mine.

Maybe it’s because Mine’s an island in a stormy sea, one of the only yakuza his age who’s sensible and level-headed enough to make it big. Maybe it’s because Mine’s gaze is always so reserved, polite, never overly lusty or overstaying its welcome, and Daigo has so rarely been desired so quietly. Or maybe it’s because Majima and Kashiwagi so clearly disapprove of him—Daigo’s always been something of a rebel, and he hasn’t shaken that off, even now he’s in his thirties and is the arbiter of rules for the Tojo Clan.

Daigo can’t quite put a pin on why he’s so comfortable with Mine’s yearning looks, but he’s never been one to hold back when he wants to indulge in something good. Not exactly a hedonist, not by yakuza standards, but Daigo has never kept himself from enjoying life, in the name of some dubious ‘honour.’

Which is why, in an after-hours meeting with Mine, as they eat cheap takeout sushi together, Daigo takes his chance. A momentary slip, the slightest hint of wasabi left at the corners of Mine’s lips and Daigo swoops in, rubs a thumb over the corner of Mine’s lips. Mine stutters to a stop, mid-sentence through a rundown of the real-estate that the Hakuho Clan’s been purchasing up, and stares at Daigo, eyes bewildered.

“Sixth Chairman?” he asks, his voice still remarkably composed.

“Wasabi.” Daigo says, nonchalantly, as if it’s nothing, and sticks his thumb into his mouth, slowly licking it off with a lingering lave of his tongue. He feels a sharp stab of satisfaction as Mine’s eyes turn darker, and his gaze follows Daigo’s hand down.  

Daigo straightens up, languidly, and cracks his neck, casually. At this point in the day, he’s untucked his shirt, and he knows that a slight strip of his stomach will be visible when he stretches out his arms towards the ceiling. And as predictably as clockwork, Mine’s gaze darts downwards, to that pale expanse, to catch that brief second of skin. Daigo can’t help but feel warm. Something about being watched by Mine is exhilarating.

“Smoke?” offers Daigo, but as usual, Mine refuses, with a polite shake of his head.

Daigo knows from hearsay that Mine’s something a health-freak, so he’s not entirely surprised. It’s already too late for Daigo to preserve his health—he knows that his liver’s already been pretty ruined from long nights of binge-drinking as a youth, and this job’s too stressful to withhold from vices like smoking and drinking, without an optimal end-goal. So he walks over to the window, cracks it open a little, and lights up.

The breath of nicotine curls over his body, a tender caress, and Daigo feels his shoulders drop, as the relaxation hits. Most people are going with the idea that “Belos wants to bring/force magic into the human world” and not gonna lie I could see that. Alot of the show is based around the destruction and assimilation of religions by Christianity/Catholicism and forcing magic as his “religion” upon a foreign land that none on the boiling isles except Eda, (and now lillith and King) have seen in living memory? A perfect allegory for missionaries spreading catholicism in North America. However, PERSONALLY I have 2 contentions with this. 1 is that Luz while not happy with Belos’s way would Absolutely be Down for magic to spread to the real world. B. Quite Frankly it doesn’t seem climactic enough for me as a BBEG Plan. Think to other cartoons like Gravity falls and SPoP with Wierdmageddon and the Heart of Etheria. Narratively theres a couple good reasons, it shows how destructive and harmful the assimilation of religion and culture is in the real world, it’s a plan worthy of of a BBEG centered around a concrete goal that the heroes can have clear objectives on how to stop. It puts Luz in direct personally driven conflict with Belos’s ambitions because instead of bringing magic to the human world, he’s harming the human world in order to achieve a goal that literally no character in the show other than a Titan Obsessed Madman would want, likely in one way or another it will show Camilla in direct danger too which further compounds Luz having to oppose Belos. It fits Belos’s character down to his abilities I mean the man moves flesh so its not too far of a stretch to imagine his plan involves flesh too or that what with his obsession with the titan that his plan might involve the titan. As well as the human world the Boiling Isles is entirely inside of the carcass of the titan so what do you thinks going to happen to Everyone and Everything on the boiling isles if the flesh of the titan starts to grow back? So we have the What of the Plan and the Why, but all that’s left is the How? Well at this point i’ve kinda run out of compelling evidence so instead of halfbaked theories this here is now in Wild Speculation Territory. The only thing thats certain is that if this theory is true something he’s missing for the revival of the Titan is in the Human World. So i’ve got a couple ideas and im just gonna lightning round them

Maybe there’s some Key Item from this Titan that Belos Needs to revive the Boiling Isles Titan (im gonna call it the BI titan) what could that key item be?

1b A Item to make the Titan able to receive Whatever Belos would use from the human world to fill in its flesh (ala anti rejection drugs when it comes to a organ transplant)

And the thing he needs to make a portal of that size (or potentially reopen since because of giraffes we know there was Some Way to the human world that probably wasnt the door unless they like, used shrinking magic on the entire Boiling Isles Giraffe Population, brought them through the door, then unshrunk them all) is inconveniently in the Human World

4 He thinks what he needs is in the human world but it’s actually in the demon world and Belos is just Blind

5 He has what he needs and instead of needing a really big portal the door is enough, he just needs to fix it and start assimilating

1. They either destroy Belos or force him into a change of heart somehow

2. They FMA:B this and do a Massive Glyph thats at least as big as his fortress if not Larger to stop belos (likely not murder, maybe through a “trap you in a false world where everything went right for you” or something like that)

3. Luz is the one that gives Magic to the Human world either from the BI Titan or the hypotetical Human World one and the glorious revolution of the people overthrows the tyrants

4. What either Belos or Luz or both be going after is King’s Crown. If Belos doesnt need the crown Luz would and gives it to King and then King and the Titan do a Kaiju Big Battle.

5. They pull a SPoP and its literally the magic of Gay is Too Strong and Saves the Day and they date and kiss and everything is good

as you stood at the end of a stairway that led to his apartment, you fiddled with your duffle bag on your shoulder, wondering if sleeping over his place was a good idea

its not like the both of you talked on a regular basis, and you only see him every week or so

so what made you feel like sleeping over at this cute waiter's house was any different than a stranger's?

at the sound of the swinging glass door from behind you, you turned your heel to face seokmin

but he was now dressed in his pajamas - an oversized graphic tshirt hanging from his shoulders and a pair of the fluffiest pants you've ever seen

"sorry it took so long, i didnt think you would call so soon so i needed to clean up a few things," he nervously chuckled

yet he was quick to offer his help with your things, mainly to avoid the awkward atmosphere that seemed to follow

after the small talk in the lift and eventually entering his home, you actually expected the decent cleanliness of his home

the decor was kept minimal yet sentimental but you did see some clothes trying to spill from beneath the couch

it didnt feel good to make him feel embarrassed after his rushed attempt so you swallowed your giggles

"the guest room is on the left and,, just make yourself feel at home. there's some drinks in the fridge and the toilet is across so if there's anything else you need, just knock my door," he reassured you before taking your duffle bag and placing it in your temporary room

although you had no idea how long you would stay over

a week at most?

oh boy were you wrong

the beginning of living with seokmin was filled with so much awkwardness

from seokmin catching a glimpse of you and your dripping hair while you came out of the toilet, to finding your undergarments in the washing machine

seokmin was nearly flustered 24/7 after finding your underwear and couldnt face you for 3 days straight

but things still progressed and the both of you began to be more comfortable among each other

seokmin cooking for you in the mornings before he started his shift while you repayed his kindness by cooking him dinner

soon the both of you could lay back on the couch together without having to nervously glance at the other or find a way to avoid the awkward silence

and by the time the both of you could be in a room without the tension, a whole week passed

and somehow finding a new apartment hadn't filled your mind during then

or maybe you were avoiding it because 1) you didnt have enough to pay for the deposit fee AND pay for rent after that and 2) with every day that passed, you felt more at home being seokmin's temporary roommate

And also because seokmin is getting so much cuter by the day

But when he asked you about your current search

And your left with having to stare at him with a blank face, your mouth gaping from the sudden unwanted question

Before you could come up with a lame excuse, seokmin reassured you that it was fine not to rush things 

“i like your company anyway, its better than coming home to an empty house and no food,” he chuckled

“but you can cook by yourself just fine, if not, even better than i could do,” you pointed out 

seokmin thinks for a moment but chooses to just shrug it off as he began cleaning up the dirty dishes in the sink

your chest doesnt feel as heavy with guilt, knowing that he didnt mind having you in his home

but how long will this last?

after an especially tiring day of work, back aching and eyes sore, you flop down onto the couch with a loud sigh

but you didnt expect seokmin to pop out from the hallway, thinking that he was still at the restaurant to clean up after his shift

“you sighed really loud i could hear you from my room,” he chuckled, attempting to lighten the tension as he entered the kitchen “something bothering you?”

you stared at the white ceiling as if it held some kind of magical power to relieve you from your exhaustion

“its just that i had to do a heck ton of work today plus that colleague i told you about was being a total asshat too,” you groan, thinking about the extra work you had to finish up which was in fact not yours

“want some instant noodles to cheer you up?” he spoke louder from the kitchen as you shouted back with a relieved ‘yes’

the two of you end up at the dining table, slurping on the noodles seokmin called the Power Up Set

“slow down yn! you’re gonna choke if you keep inhaling it like that,” he chuckled, with a wide grin on his face

“but its super good! and i might have skipped out on lunch,” you sheepishly confessed, knowing the worry-filled questions that were to come your way

“you’re gonna fall sick if you dont take care of yourself. i told you i could send you takeaway if you were too busy,” he nagged, forgetting his own ball of noodles

while you on the other hand gave all your attention to your now soup bowl

“dont make me remind you about the gastric pains you got from not eating breakfast with me,” he glared

“but seokmin,,,,” you groaned 

“what’s your mother going to say when i dont keep up to my promise of taking care of you?????”

and youre not sure why but a sudden choice of words even take yourself aback

“then i can just move out and find an apartment asap,” 

maybe it had always been lingering at the back of your mind, that your presence in his life was becoming a burden for him

but when you look back at him and its not his usual teasing smile

it felt like maybe he did really want you to move out

“im done with dinner, im going to sle-”

“you’re going to move already?”

sounded like he looked forward to it, you thought to yourself

“but then who’s going to watch the final season with me?”

wait what

“who’s going to help me cook dinner and give me the best hugs when the day is too tiring? who’s going to help me laze around when its cleaning day? i never thought i would ever have the time to admit this but i really like you, yn. and your presence here amplified it so much i have no idea what to do with mys-”

you cut him off by squishing his cheeks, for him to look right back at you so that you could check if seokmin was just trying to cheer you up

but roommates dont say that they like you to cheer you up, do they?

“are you going to slap me or kiss me i-”

“just hush already,” 

your lips collided with his, making your knees weak from the contact while he wrapped his arms around your waist

once the both of you pulled away, seokmin began laughing so loud out of happiness, nuzzling his head into the crook of your neck

“so does that mean i can still laze around during cleaning day?”

🤗Are they physically affectionate?

Yes! Very much. He’ll hold hands a lot, give hand kisses, cheek kisses, play footsie, nuzzle, put his arms around him, rest their foreheads together. etc. Hes likes being physically affectionate

This could also work for the affectionate in public question but he’ll do it any of what i said above at home or in public. The only difference is, he’ll only give one or two kisses in public at a time, and at home they can make out.

🎶 Do they have a type? 

Yes! He tends to fall for interesting unique people. Whether its a boy or girl, if they interest him and are unique with a personality that appeals to him, he’s at risk of falling for them.

Looks wise, he does gravitate towards interesting looking people as well. Hes demi so hes not sexually attracted at first, but he will find them very very good looking and will get heart eyes. They tend to be uniquely pretty, and very naturally pretty. They wont need to try at all for Finrod to find them gorgeous. Also, they always have a gorgeous smile.

To better elaborate, some examples would be. Finrod’s Maglor is very quirky, even if hes a prince he doesnt particularly look it. He’ll have very unruly frizzy hairs at the sides of his face when its humid, and cow licks on top of his head. but very very soft emotional grey eyes, dresses a bit plain and disheveled at times, most times has muddy boots. Pays more attention to music than looking princely. Smells like harp strings and soaps he uses. Very introverted but wonderful at performing music, and has a secret genuine smile he only does around Finrod that he just goes crazy over. Secretly loves dancing, hips wiggle when excited, has the cutest giggle.

Finrod’s wife in some aus is Italian ( middle earth version of Italian). She has a pretty accent that gets deeper when upset or sassy. Has a very specific clothing style according to her culture. Has a completely different culture than Finrod does and he loves learning about it and participating. Loves sparring and will throw Finrod down on his butt every time. Shes very “i’ll kick anyone’s ass. i’ll kick your ass. i’ll kick maglor’s ass. i’ll kick my own ass” XD Again has a pretty smile too.

Rhys is extremely unique and why Finrod fell so hard. Pale with long fluffy white hair, white eyebrows and eyelashes. Cloudy eyes because hes blind,  full pale lips with pink tint. Makes a lot of facial expressions that give away how hes feeling, eye contact is never ever needed, hes got a unique way of expressing himself with other types of body language, and of course with words. Theres just something about all those expressions, the way he smiles, and how his eyelashes flutter when his eyes are part of the way open showing his cloudy eyes that just.. drew Finrod in. Everything he does is so intriguing and has a way of making Finrod smile, even when Rhys is a bit sarcastic. Theres a gentleness, love and loyalty to him along with layers upon layers of other things like shyness, bitterness, frustration, a little afraid, stubbornness. And of course everyone has so many layers to their personality, but his in particular Finrod fell in love with.  Obviously there are even more unique things like his mutation, but even without it Finrod would have still been just as intrigued. The way he sits at windows for warmth, the look on his face when he eats sweets, his smile, his laugh, the way he says certain words in his accent,  how he can melt with just a small physical gesture or when holding a soft bunny. Despite everything hes been through, hes still soft and sweet and beautiful, any roughness around the edges Finrod loves just as much. He embraces the uniqueness in its entirety, whether Rhys may consider some aspects of himself flawed or less than perfect, Finrod just sees his unique Rhys, perfect just the way he is in every way.

😡What are their deal breakers?

Nothing turns him off from a person faster than seeing them being hateful to someone. Just needlessly underhanded and hateful to someone who did nothing wrong. Like bullying, tripping someone just to be mean or throwing stuff at someone for no reason. In general, if they pick on people and bully them. But chances are Finrod wouldnt have been too interested in them if he didnt know them well enough yet to know their true nature.

Cheating. Or even just implying they would cheat turns him off so fasttt. A random example would be If Finrod had a crush on someone who happened to be dating someone. He wouldnt ever bring it up or imply that he was crushing, its rude and he would respect they were in a relationship. But if they started talking to him about how they would cheat with someone or even him, or even try to kiss him. Nope, turned off, right then. He could understand if they werent happy in their relationship and wanted to end it and find someone else, thats perfectly normal and fine, but not cheating and wanting both people ( or more than both).

Insulting him or his friends/family. Theres a difference between playful banter/playful insults and flat out true insults.  This may or may not be something that builds up to it being a deal breaker. If someone happens to tell him his hair looks awful one day hes gonna take it as them letting him know as a favor so he wouldnt have walked around like that too long or something so he could fix it. Thats totally fine and normal, but if someone makes that an every day thing where they constantly are insulting his hair, his clothes, his work, his food, etc. If they insult everything about him constantly hes gonna be turned off from them. However, before he does anything hes gonna talk to them about it first and let them know how theyre making him feel. Then their reaction will determine whether or not its a deal breaker. They would probably remain only friends though.

Similarly, if he hears someone outright insult a friend of his or family member hes gonna be turned off right then. A little communication will be applied again but still, only remain friends most likely.  It depends on the situation.

🏷️ Do they give their partners cute nicknames?

He does! If his partners name is long he’ll shorten it to a nickname. Rhys’ name is short already so he wont do that, but he’ll use things like “ Love” or very possibly a term of endearment in Gaelic that Rhys likes. Or maybe darling. Things like that. But I doubt he would ever say “Babe” or “Sweetheart”. He uses sweetheart for little kids, and babe just sounds funny to him.  He would never say Baby for sure.

📖 What is their favorite outside of the bedroom activity to do with their partner?

I dont know that he has a favorite. He likes cooking together, going for walks, going to the park… So many things… if he had to pick a favorite its a tie between Cuddling on the couch with Rhys explaining tv shows, movies, and books while having a snack; and cooking together.

Well..Reading for one thing. They do most of their reading before bed all cuddled up and that technically counts for this question because its in the bedroom.

In terms of physical bedroom activities, he just likes kissing and making love in general with Rhys in any way they feel like. He could never choose a favorite if he tried, its all heavenly to him.

💚Are they prone to jealousy?

Not really. Finrod gets more sad and envious rather than jealous. For example, if before they became a couple, someone flirted with Rhys or Rhys flirted with someone, he would get a bit sad and envy them. He would never say anything though, hes too polite so there would never be any resentful feelings of jealousy or anything. Just a bit pouty.  Unless the person flirting with Rhys, or who Rhys was flirting with, was a jerk then he would be resentful toward that person and very protective. Most likely he would just talk to Rhys about it, communication is the best thing for it.

Although, if he and Rhys ( or just in general he and a partner, this applies always) were dating, he would never ever get jealous, sad or, envious because there would be no reason to. He trusts Rhys completely and knows he would never cheat on him, so if anyone ever flirted with Rhys, his response wouldnt be jealousy, it would be to politely let the person know Rhys was his boyfriend. If that didnt work and they still were bothering Rhys, then he’d tell them to get lost.  Probably growl if the person is stubborn and takes it to far.

This ties in with the first question. He’ll hold hands, give hand kisses, cheek kisses, play footsie, nuzzle, put his arms around him, rest their foreheads together, and one or two kisses at a time maybe three. He wont make out in public ( unless theyre somehow hidden they might have a mini make out, like ex: making out under their umbrella at the beach)  but is very affectionate in a tasteful way. Granted terribly sappy, but tasteful.

The only difference between public and private is that they kiss a lot in private, will definitely make out for as long as their hearts desire. They also have a lot of sex.

💔Do they have a certain type of person they will not enter into a relationship with? 

Going back into the deal breaker question, he will never enter a relationship with someone whos a bully to anyone or him. Its just not going to happen, ever.  If someone doesnt treat people right or him right, he doesnt want any sort of relationship with them at all.

💝How long until they feel secure and comfortable in a relationship?

It depends on the relationship. With Rhys he was always comfortable because they had been friends for years prior. Sure a little awkward, but also comfortable. Since they had been best friends i think it was a little scary. Finrod didnt want to ruin their friendship but they both knew things would get better rather than anything getting ruined. They fully trusted each other so they knew they would always be together regardless and let themselves follow where ever their feelings led. I would say after a few months of dating they were pretty secure, a little awkward and it felt like a dream, but secure and comfortable. In terms of being comfortable with new stages in the relationship thats something different, they took each step slowly at a comfortable pace.

In a different situation, in general it would take him several months to feel secure and comfortable, possibly almost a year if he and the person hadnt known each other that well before they started dating. That would mean they dated in order to get to know each other and it takes a long time to fully get to know someone that well.

🚀 How far are they willing to go for the person they love?

Finrod would do anything his love needed. Anything. Finrod would kill for Rhys if he had too.

That being said, Rhys is someone he trusts completely and he wouldnt ever be in a relationship if he didnt trust his partner like that wholly. Rhys would never ask him to do anything unless there was a solid good reason. Finrod knows that. So if a reason ever presented itself he would do what ever Rhys needed in a heartbeat.

Doing anything to protect Rhys isnt even debatable, he would protect Rhys with his last dying breath if he had to.

so lemme just start by saying fuck 2020 

now that we’re on the same page, lets get into it

so i dont have to explain all the reasons why this year sucked bc u just need to google 2020 and there will be a million reasons why it was TOTAL FUCKING GARBAGE...... usually when so many people collectively say a year sucked ass, i can be like “oh it wasnt *all* bad for me, personally” haha not this year!!! 

its super fucking depressing to look at how hopeful and positive i was about 2020 a year ago..... ofc there was no way for me to have known it would all go to shit but i still really appreciate the tone i had set... reading over the previous reflections and seeing how harsh and negative i was @ myself made the softness of last years post super refreshing.... 

now i said i dont *have* to explain all the ways 2020 was shitty, but i am gonna explain the biggest reason this year was shitty for me, personally..... it might seem really small in comparison to the ways 2020 was shitty as a whole on like a global scale? but really the biggest reason 2020 sucked ass was i didnt get to really hang out with any of my friends in real life for 9 out of the 12 months of the year.... and really it was like the first week of march that shit hit the fan so like really it was only 2 months that we got to see each other....... if u rmbr p much every previous retrospective post ive made, there was a big emphasis on friends..... ive come to realize that im actually a very *extra*verted person??? despite my overall shyness and homebody attitude, i would always choose to hang out with people over being alone so stay-at-home orders FUCKING SUCKED??? when we all thought it would be over in a couple weeks, maybe a month it was fine?? hey its a good time to draw or catch up on that reading and/or writing i said i was gonna do maybe even start learning to drive?? it’ll be no big deal THEN it wasn’t over in a month and it wasnt gonna BE over anytime soon and no one important was doing anything about it and its an election year and black lives have always mattered and yet everything is so uncertain and

in 2018, i had said that i watched vox’s video on the year in 5 mins and cried... if i watched this year in five minutes, i dont think i would be able to breathe...... 

SO instead of making myself CRY..... lets try to think about any GOOD things that happened and think about what we can do to make 2021 good for ourselves:

GOOD THINGS THAT HAPPENED:

-i *didn’t* lose my job!! sad that so many others cannot say the same but im trying to make myself feel *better* not WORSE so i got to keep my job and i actually work more hours than before so!!

-i actually *did* learn to drive this year!!!! and im pretty good at it??? for someone that just started this year anyway?? i probably *would* have my DRIVER’S LICENSE right now if it weren’t for a surge in cases in a certain STATE that i happen to live in......... but w/e its fine i get more time to practice and im ~~**DEFINITELY**~~ going pass my test and get my license ~whenever it is that i can reschedule my dmv appt~

lmfao its so funny that last year, i was absolutely *dreading* learning to drive but i so fucking get why everyone was like ‘you need to learn how to drive’ i legit love it so much???? ive always been a car person but that was like purely for the aesthetic but now that i can drive im just....... WOOOW this really is what freedom feels like.... like ik that public transportation is amazing and i will always champion it but nothing beats being purely in control of your destination.... i also wanted to buy myself a car for my birthday even tho i couldnt really drive yet but then sien had to fix smthg on her car and it was EXPENSIVE AF and my mom was like “u dont need to buy a car yet” so i put the brakes [haha] on that... but soon... once i get my license,,, then i will have u my love................. so with that being “my most serious goal of 2020″ im glad i did it

-i was one of lucky ones and got unemployment when i couldn’t work so i have a lot of money saved in the bank??? pls no one steal my identity i wanna use that money to buy myself a car and/or for when we move out 🤞🤞 we’ll just have to wait and seeeeee....................

-i had mentioned playing dnd last year too and thats been going STRONG as hell thank goodness....... we couldnt keep playing in person but when we moved it to online, not only did we actually get to hang out a lot more, we made more friends??? introduced new people to the group?? its so good and in fact probably the only thing that kept me even a little bit sane this year...... 

-this is more of an honorable mention than an accomplishment but im this 🤏close to catching up with critical role and thats partially thanks to the pandemic lmao sooooo ??? 

aaaaaaand thats p much it lol i didnt really accomplish any of my other goals bc reasons................. but!!! as cliche as it sounds, with a light at the end of the tunnel, im confident that i can turn that all around this year.... so if 2016 was the year of change, 2017 was the year of getting used to shit, 2018 was the year of getting *too* used to shit and 2019 ended up being the year of friends, 2020 was the year of absolute shit and it doesn’t fucking count....... i learned a lot this year, biggest lesson of all is that life is short and if i were to have died at any point last year, what the fuck would i have to show for it??? so usually i end up giving a theme or name to a year after its done but this time im determined to make 2021 into what i want it to be SO i am declaring this year, the year of our lord 2021, the year of new experiences!!!! what the fuck does that mean you ask? well ill tell you!!! im gonna try new things this year!! make a very pointed effort to do things outside my comfort zone?? and for my goals this year, im going back to my old way of making a huge list of stuff u wanna do and seeing how much i can actuallly accomplish!! now i said theres a light but we really dont know when all this shit will end and life will go “bAcK tO nOrMaL” so whos to say ill get to accomplish any of it? at the same time, there are plenty of stuff on the list that i can do within the pandemic set parameters so!! lets see this list!!

Serendipity Analysis

this marks the start of the analysis of the Love Yourself 承 Her Album. i will be analysing several parts - music, aesthetics and lyrics.

disclaimer: this is just my opinion and speculation, feel free to disagree or to share your thoughts in the replies or ask box. 

starting off the analysis would be in the intro: Serendipity. 

overall: this intro was released on the 4th September for the Her Album. 承 means development. in a way, this album marks the start of the Love Yourself Series in which i have mentioned before in some translated articles that it would stretch till 2018 and in addition to this, there have been some releases of the highlight reels here, here, here and here. 

the intro was done by Jimin, part of the vocal line and comparing with the other intros from bangtan’s previous albums, this is the first time that the vocal line is doing the intro as the school trilogy and dark and wild was done by Namjoon, the HYYH series done by Yoongi and Wings by Hoseok - the rapline. as such, i was quite surprised to see that this time the vocal line is taking over the intro in which i can safely assume that the next few albums, the vocal line might continue to do the intros.

Namjoon has mentioned that he did take part in the producing of this song and the writing of lyrics ( which i will explain later ). 

The point of having an intro is to build on the anticipation for the listeners of the album, to expect more from the album and to build up the mood. Usually, its not a full song, it usually is less than 3mins, just to give a little sneak peak of the album. ( Reference ) In this case, Serendipity is building on the feeling of being in love, when you’re dating someone as what Jimin has mentioned in their comeback show. So this intro leads in on the feelings of love ( though for some reason, in some songs, the feeling of it is not as obvious )

music: the song starts off with this sound of being sucked in, which actually matches how the universe is in Jimin’s eyes ( which will be later explained ). as i mentioned before, hearing the intro from the vocal line is something new, as such there’s no raps and genuinely its a sweet song. Jimin has a way of saying 그냥, 그냥 in a way similar to cat. he tends to slur his words to emphasise the lyrics such as in 넌 내 푸른 곰팡이 ( you're my penicillin ) and also 난 네 삼색 고양이 ( you’re my calico cat ). but when he riffs off the lyrics 나의 천사 나의 세상 ( my angel, my world ) and Love me now touch me now, he doesn't do it too much and stays relatively within his vocal range, without going off too high or too low. as such, the song sounds very calming, with the beat having very little percussion throughout the song, and only intensifies slightly during the chorus. 

in the first 2 verses, there’s barely any percussion, and it sounds as if Jimin was singing in some empty space except for that constant sound that actually is off beat - in a way that it does start on the 1st count and continues to the 2nd but the 3rd count is not consistently heard and often the 4th count sounds delayed. this results into hearing the 4th count right before Jimin sings the next word/phrase - it helps to make the pauses between his singing of phrases more clearer and distinct. 

afterwards, in the 3rd verse, the percussion comes in, though still limited, just a bit of the snare drum on the 2nd and 4th count. the electro synth comes in alternatively and actually starts on the 3rd count and extends all the way to the 4th, keeping the 2nd count of the drum constant throughout. the 1st count is consistent throughout but if theres no electro synth between the phrases, the 3rd count is pretty redundant as theres no beat to back it up.

the next chunk of the song is when Jimin starts singing about the penicillin, in which the percussion tones down a lot, to make way for the guitar riffs which are aligned to his singing, when he slurs and extends the lyrics. you could clearly hear the change in chords and the soft piano inside. 

the next part, the percussion resumes but Jimin’s singing intensifies in a way that he adjusts the lyrics to be sung in a higher register in a more breathy manner, probably a mixture of head voice and falsetto.

the last part, the beat dies down with the piano coming in and a few chords of the guitar being strummed. Jimin is barely singing at this point and in a way, he's reading the lyrics instead but in a soft whisper yet still ensuring that he extends the ‘you’ at the end. 

for some reason, i could not grasp the song in a way that i was not head over heels for it, its not something that i listen to often. eventually, the song kinda grew onto me after hearing it on repeat. but upon hearing it, the song itself definitely had the feel of Namjoon inside. why? the beat itself is one thing but the witty lyrics is another. it gave the vibes of Reflection. both reflection and serendipity did not have a very hard beat or bass line and was relatively toned down with sharp contrasts in between the verses.

aesthetics: the video itself was aesthetically pleasing, of course the work of Lumpens. the whole video has a pretty fixed set of colours and a certain theme - mainly the visuals of yellow, blue, and white with the focus of minimalism. 

many have mentioned before that Jimin looks like the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, just like the prince who has bright yellow hair who visited various planets and eventually going to Earth in which the author meets him. 

The Little Prince is a book that is meant to target the adults audience, though widely viewed as a children's book. ( Reference ) 

this scene of the world is common with the highlight reel videos as seen in the 1st one

the colour schemes are evident 

yellow ( the pale kind, close to being sickly ) 

this scene above can be seen similar to Edward Hopper’s Rooms By the Sea, 1951 which was an oil painting with the concept of surrealism

blue ( leaning between the various shades of mint blue, grey blue, navy blue etc )

the prick on his finger that bled, that will eventually be zoomed in to show the universe 

ironically it may mean how it could be felt in his blood - the feelings of love, possibly admiration and intimacy coursing through him as he tries to convey that the love of his life is his universe 

that would be an interesting point though, then DNA would make a lot of sense being the title track since our blood contains DNA. 

the frame prior to this shows the beams of yellow to be strikingly yellow which actually brings back the colour palette of yellow again, focusing on those two primary colours - yellow and blue 

white, that contrasts everything 

and the concept of minimalism 

yet theres the sudden outburst of purple when the ‘universe’ is involved with jimin falling inside it. the outburst of purple doesn't look so distorted in our eyes since its still a secondary color but more often, we tend to focus on the yellow that has been introduced in the beginning of the video. yet in the next few frames, this burst of colour is traded to a pink-turuoqise combination that will eventually pan out to Jimin’s grey contacts.

notice how the burst of colour remains relatively circular, which actually makes it easier to join the frames to link to the contacts of the pupil in Jimin’s eyes.

in between the video, there’s the movement of the eclipse, both before and after.

there was an actual brief theory about this whole eclipse movement but i cant remember where it was from youtube under the comments. 

upon the eclipse, notice how the world seemed to be chaotic with the movement of gusts of wind, thrown bowls, crashing waves and the zoom in of the water splashing in between the cup, but despite that, Jimin seemed to be happy, satisfied and content.

though once the eclipse is over, the minimalism seeps back in, with him sitting in a chair, in a room of 4 white walls, with anything but the yellow blanket. 

this probably isn't a good sign as it if often seen in mental asylums and his outfit either way doesn't do much justice to point out that this may not be the case. 

at the end, the camera zooms in on Jimin and he sings/says the last few words of the song, ‘Let Me Love Let Me Love You’.

its a nice way to kill me, thanks. but notice how the brightness and overexposure just shot up 100x more towards the end, in contrast to the darker frames throughout the video. somehow, the video seemed more balanced with this white frame in contrast with the blue ones, so technically, in my eyes, they're not in any discomfort, its not an exact striking white but its enough to counter the dark blue frames.

i think that this video was pleasing to me with the fixed colour palettes thats constantly being reinforced and should there be an introduction of any new colours, it will eventually link back to the default palette set.

minimalism was used inside but it was still counter with the close ups of Jimin on the bed, panning out in the background or with the cat underneath the moonlight.

lyrics: the lyrics are pretty standard really, theres nothing really exciting about it since it revolves around the concept of love. with the usual lyrics of how fated the lovers are the moment the universe was created and how its not fate but destiny that led to them like this. 

이 모든 건 우연이 아냐 = None of this is a coincidence , 너와 내 행복은 예정됐던 걸 = Because our happiness has been planned, 우주가 처음 생겨났을 때부터 모든 건 정해진 거였어 = Ever since the universe was first formed Everything has been planned

then again, love is a cliche topic. but what made it interesting was its title, Serendipity = the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. ( Reference ) and how the lyrics, 넌 내 푸른 곰팡이 = You are my penicillin is linked to the next line, 날 구원해 준 = You saved me.

Penicillin, or what bangtan calls it which is blue mold, is an antibiotic that was discovered by Alexander Fleming back in the 1940s with the unprecedented rise of diseases due to the myriad of bacteria. the discovery of this penicillin was considered to be a serendipitous one. ( look at the paragraphs under the subtitle: History-Discovery ) eventually, this penicillin managed to save many people from dying from diseases that it was eventually mass produced. in this case, the lyrics are comparing the lover to saving him.

The part about calico cats is that they were seen as a good luck omen and to this day are placed in the entrances of homes and businesses everywhere. ( Reference ). By incorporating it in the lyrics, 난 네 삼색 고양이 널 만나러 온 = im your tricolor cat, here to meet you means that Jimin is the one that will bring good luck and omen.

this could be linked to the chaos during the eclipse etc, saying that with him, eventually it will all stop and calm down. 

but then again it ends off to link the song back to the concept of letting someone to love you. which to me is strange because the way that is phrased, ‘let me love you’ is asking for permission to love someone, not something that many of us do. often we just fall for someone and then ask them out but we dont really tell someone, ‘let me love you’. so to me, its refreshing to hear.

i think the witty lyrics were done well, something that namjoon is actually very capable of and only if you knew about the stories underlying the lyrics would make you to understand and appreciate the song more.

last thoughts: this intro is done well, and it definitely did summarise the concept of love in full in my opinion, starting the album softly, building that climax for the title track to fill in.

Thank God the day following that event was a Saturday, otherwise he'd have to shamefully face the two hearts he managed to break in one day.

Jaebum rolled around in his bed, hugging on the blankets, mumbling incoherently to himself. He felt like absolute garbage. Seeing that his alarm clock read 10:37, he slumped out of bed and dragged himself down to the bathroom. The house was empty as usual, meaning he could totally throw a party that night. If, you know, he didn't feel like dying. As he squirted some toothpaste onto his toothbrush and madly scrubbed his pearly whites, he groaned as he stared at himself in the mirror. He knew he was a good looking guy whose looks would attract mostly every gal or guy. After rinsing out his mouth, he smacked some water across the mirror and blurred the reflection of his sad-looking self. For once, he wished he was ugly. Jaebum tiredly zombie-walked his way over to the kitchen, checking the fridge for any food that possibly could've been left for him. Seeing that it was empty except for some eggs and milk, he already knew that his plans would be to go out for both lunch and dinner. Opening a cupboard, he grabbed a box of fruity cereal and dumped it into a ceramic bowl, pouring milk in after doing so. His dear cat, Nora, crawled up to his feet and rubbed herself against the skin lovingly. "At least you're here," he muttered under his breath, slurping some milk from his bowl as he made his way to the couch. He turned on the television and stared dully at the skin, allowing his pet to crawl onto his lap and rest there. Realizing that he hadn't checked his phone in a while, Jaebum reached for it since it was laying on the coffee table. He turned it on, only to be met with over a hundred missed text messages. annoyed, he unlocked his phone and saw that a particular someone added him to a chat group overnight after he fell asleep, which was the main cause of the overload of messages. He squinted at his screen while he scrolled through the messages. It took him a while to realize that those numbers were familiar to him: Jackson Wang, Park Jinyoung, and Choi Youngjae. The last message was sent a few hours ago, so he didn't bother sending anything to indicate that he read the chat. He put down his bowl of breakfast and became invested into the conversation they were having, feeling more and more uneasy. His phone read 2:57 by the time he spotted Jaebum. He was standing right outside the promised cafe, scrolling through his own phone with his legs crossed. It surprised Youngjae to see that he was wearing a pair of wire-rimmed glasses and an oversized sweater, contrary to his usual attire of trendy clothes that showed off his nice build. He looked pretty hot, to be honest. Youngjae shook that thought out of his mind and approached Jaebum, acting as though he wasn't just staring at him a minute prior. "It isn't 3 yet," Youngjae said quietly, stuffing his hands into his hoodie. "I've been here for ten minutes. I just didn't want to be late," Jaebum replied with a tiny grin as if he wanted the younger's approval. Youngjae scoffed and went ahead into the building, ruining the other's plans of opening the door for him. They went up to the counter, both of them staring at the menu in a similar way. Both of their eyes twitched, cursing at Jackson mentally. "I'm glad Jinyoung decided not to come," Jaebum whispered to the other, faking a smile for the person behind the cash register. "Welcome to Cafe A, one of the first couples' cafe in this town," she smiled enthusiastically, probably a bit overwhelmed on the inside because she had two male customers coming together in her hands. Youngjae hid his face into a hand in embarrassment, and Jaebum wanted to die on the spot. "Would you like to order our monthly special 'love potions?'" she asked, pointing to the piece of paper on the counter. "No," Youngjae and Jaebum said simultaneously. Flustered because of how rude that sounded, Jaebum laughed sheepishly and shook his head. "I'll just have an iced Americano. And, Youngjae..." Youngjae squinted at the menu above them, saying, "I'll have some water." Jaebum's face abruptly switched to one of shock, nudging the younger gently with his elbow. 'Eat,' he mouthed. Youngjae grumbled, feeling like he was just scolded by his mother. "Nevermind. I'll have a melon smoothie." "Alright. that will be ₩6,500." His hand reached into his pocket to grab his wallet, but the taller Jaebum stopped him before he could go any further. Instead, he took out his own wallet and paid using a card. Youngjae squinted his eyes at the other. I bet he just wanted to show off. Stupid seniors. "Thank you. Please come to pick up your order once this starts to buzz," she said while handing over the circular device to Youngjae, who almost dropped it.To the surprise of both, she leaned forward and gestured for them to come closer. "The third floor is popular with... couples like you two," she whispered with a grin. Both boys shook their heads, trying to insist that they weren't that sort of couple. She didn't listen, only grinning happily. 'You guys are so cute!' she mouthed while making a thumbs up, leaving the two speechless as they searched for a table. "Maybe we should go to the third floor," Youngjae was heard mumbling. "But we're not a couple, unfortunately," Jaebum remarked, putting emphasis on the last word to express that he really did think it was unfortunate. "I mean, I'd be more than happy if we were, but-" "The people here are staring at us." Youngjae gestured with a subtle tilt of his chin, completely ignoring what the other had to say. It was true, though; quite a few of the other couples enjoying their food seemed to be whispering at the two. Jaebum scoffed and marched towards the staircase, Youngjae following quickly to avoid any more odd gazed from anyone there. As promised by the girl at the cash register, the third floor was filled with... ...gay. Youngjae's eyes couldn't ignore the variety(?) of couples that were there, enjoying their time together. At one table in the corner, there was someone resembling a llama sitting across from someone who appeared like a girl. He couldn't tell, that person just had long hair. At the opposite side of the room, he spotted a couple that consisted of someone narrow-eyed with bright mint hair, nodding at his partner, who had a radiant smile, while he ranted. At another table they passed by were two people who didn't stand out in particular except that they seemed to be speaking completely in Chinese. Beside their table were two rather young looking guys, the foreign-looking one teaching his partner how to say simple words in English. "I don't think there are any open tables, hyung..." Youngjae remarked with a pout after searching around the room. Jaebum nodded, thinking that they might end up having to sit outside or something. Just then, someone tapped his arm. he turned around to see two rather tall guys sitting at the table nearby, one of them looking highly emo. "Are you looking for a table? Ae can just move our stuff, there's space for you guys," the person who tapped his arm offered, his canine teeth showing as he smiled. "Oh, sure. Thank you." Once the other guys moved their belongings, Youngjae took the seat that was on the cushiony couch and Jaebum sat on the chair. "Are you guys from JYP high?" the person asked, sipping on his ice coffee. Jaebum nodded, leaning back while putting an arm over the chair in an assertive way. "We're from Pledis," he replied, making Jaebum go “Ooh.” No wonder they were wearing nice clothes and looked as though they had their hair done professionally. Although Pledis was a small school, it was a costly place to attend and its students sure did prove that. "God, I would've screamed if you guys were from SM." Almost everyone in the room quieted down when hearing that name as though it was a taboo. SM's school had the roughest teachers and classes by far, and its roughness most likely rubbed off on its students. The device Youngjae held flashed red lights out of nowhere and started buzzing, startling him. Jaebum took it from his hand and headed downstairs in order to grab their drinks. Once he was gone, the high-key emo person who hadn't said a thing leaned over to Youngjae. "Your boyfriend's hot," he said quietly. Youngjae's face flashed a bright pink. "He's not my boyfriend! I'm not dating him," he argued and pouted again. "Really? I think he likes you from the way he looks at you, though," the person sitting across said with a wiggle of his eyebrows. "What's his name?" "Im Jaebum." Someone dropped their fork in the distance as the person almost choked on his straw. "That's... him? He's Im Jaebum?" he asked, clearly as confused as Youngjae was. someone a few tables next to them whispered, “Holy shit, that was Im Jaebum?” "Yes?" Youngjae tilted his head, not understanding what all the fuss was about. "Goodness," he sighed while shaking his head. "He's a literal legend at Pledis." Youngjae's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean by that?" "How do you, his boyfriend, not know about this?" he fanned himself with his hand, accidentally hitting himself in the face. Embarrassed, he cleared his throat. "Anyway, the Pledis legend. Im Jaebum. He used to go to Pledis for his freshman year, I think. But somehow, he ended up becoming the school's first ever student to be full on expelled." Youngjae's mouth dropped when hearing this. He wasn't even sure if his best friends Jinyoung or Jackson knew about this. "One of the biggest idol companies—you know, the ones with idol groups and all that—scouted him during his freshman year, right on our campus. The story about that flew all over school and he became a living legend. Everyone wanted to his friend." "How come you didn't recognize him earlier if he's that well known?" Youngjae asked in a dazed tone, not quite able to wrap his head around all the information he just absorbed. "Are you kidding me? He used to be one of the shortest guys in the class. He had mushroom hair and wore huge glasses every day." "Okay..." Youngjae peered over to the staircase to see if was Jaebum was back or not. He wanted to hear more of the details, wishing he wouldn't be back for another five minutes. "Well, why was he expelled?" "There was this group of seniors that made fun of him a lot, and I guess he was just fed up with him," he explained with a shrug, shaking around his cup. "What did he do?" "He poisoned them." That was the point where Youngjae didn't believe the story anymore. "No, that's stupid—" "He baked them a nice batch of cookies that made them vomit the next day. They told the principal on him," the boy paused in order to snap his fingers, "and just like that, he was gone." Youngjae was speechless, only his eyes blinking as the rest of his body was frozen. He was so confused, mostly because he couldn't believe that someone who seemed genuinely kind like the 'Def Soul' person he knew would do such thing. At the staircase, he could see a glimpse of Jaebum walking up with two cups in his hands. "Are you afraid that he'll do something like that again?" the person asked. "If you are, I don't think you should be. I can tell his attitude has changed a lot since freshman year, and he's probably trying to get a fresh start." Jaebum sat back down in his seat across from the still shocked Youngjae. He waved his hand in front of him, wondering if he was even alive. "Yah, Im Jaebum!" the person smacked his arm out of nowhere. “What—ah, shit," Jaebum cursed under his breath once he realized that that person currently attended pledis, the place of his unforgettable past. "I can't believe it's actually you. hey, i'm mingyu. remember me?" Jaebum's eyes widened as though he was reminded of something unpleasant, but he played it cool and sighed. "Yes, yes, I do. What do you want?" The one sitting across from mingyu tapped his watch, indicating something about time. He nodded his head and hurriedly threw on his jacket, grabbing his things. "Sorry, I would talk more but there's something I have to do." Before he left the table, he leaned down towards Jaebum's ear and whispered softly.
