I just looked through the entirety of the haunted house au tag (again) and i don’t think i saw u answer this sorta ask yet sooooo….

does y/n ever bring stuff from the outside world into the haunt for the boys? ik you’ve written about movies, but i was thinking about toys, props, little gifts and souvenirs from the places they visit. Showing the boys photos and videos on their phone.

i know that i definitely would be thinking about my weird endearing robo clown coworkers all the time when i was away from the job and want to show them little bits of the world outside since they cant experience it for themselves. im curious also if the haunt management would actually discourage this sorta thing but y/n sneaks nicknacks in anyway 😝

I could very much see yn showing the boys pictures and memes and shit on their phone or when they bring a laptop in for movie night. Physical gifts would be a bit harder, because the boys don't have any sort of space to like. actually keep stuff you know? The closest thing would be Sun's 'stage' for his scenes with yn, but thats part of the show and very much can't be decorated. Any gifts would have to be hidden away, most likely in the vents/crawl spaces Moon uses to sneak between rooms.

but now that you've suggested it I can't stop thinking about it it's so fun! Like imagine they have to do some repair work on the vents and they just find a shit ton of random stuff with no explanation for how it got there?? And yn and the boys both just have to be like 'thats sooo weird! wonder who's responsible?' and walk away while whistling.

I think if management caught wind they'd probably have a sit down talk with yn about not anthropomorphizing the animatronics. Because, yes, they move and talk like humans and can respond to what you're saying, but they don't have feelings. They don't need gifts. And it would be really awkward for everyone involved (and very embarrassing/frustrating for yn who Knows the boys are more sentient than everyone thinks) and would probably drive a further wedge between yn and the rest of their coworkers because like. that's Weird right?? That the scare actor seems to think the animatronics are Actually alive???

Anyways if I was yn I would bring them clown themed objects

When did you start writing?

Mmmmm.... first story I wrote properly was in 2014, little primary school lad who got marked well on a story in class and it ended up on a lil notice board which little me was like oH. It was a 10 year old's excuse for a horror story but it does make me laugh to think that I went from that to wattpad within months, back when it wasnt behind a paywall. My first original was on wattpad in maybe 2016 and after that I was really into LoZ and BBC Sherlock so there was some fanfics there. My longest (unfinished) original story was built off a plot that I created for a LoZ fanfic and I was still very active in writing it up until three years ago, so there was a solid 6-7 years spent with that lol.

End of 2022 I started reading abt skk on ao3 without ever having watched the show (shoutout athena and moxie p sure i read some of yours first lmfao every skker ever) and started writing my first few skk fics without ever having watched the show OR read the manga. Before that though the thing that got me onto writing for/on ao3 was Narumitsu!!! my babes one day i will finish that first fic (blackmadhi yesssssssss if you wanna see my cringe from pre bsd thats it lol).

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

god..... too many..... its been a long time since ive sat down to read properly, and even during school i would not have considered myself a book nerd by any means (mostly because i was juggling time between school and extra-curriculars.)

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

When I was in highschool, my writing style (based on the original mentioned above) was compared to Marcus Zusac before I'd even read a book of his. That was pretty nice. Same with Neil Gaiman but that is too high praise for me to accept considering i now write either about gay lawyers or gay mafioso x ex-mafioso soooooooooooo. not sure any of that would come through in my writing these days.

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

Literally write wherever I can. In my room, at my desk, on the bus or train, during breaks at work and in class at uni (responsible i know). Wind, rain or shine, if i have an idea (or not even) i'll jot down an idea or vaguely edit something. The process is process-ing!!!!

What’s your most effective way to muster up a muse?

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

I LOVE THIS OKAY. SO. typical projection stuff incoming. I feel like most if not everyone has a highschool horror story and up until like a year or so ago i was like!!! it wasnt that bad!!!! (it was, emotionally at least). The aforementioned original story and its characters changed a LOT overtime lol. when I hit my last year of highschool, i'd had some time away from writing and when i read over it, it was crazy to see not only what my mental state had been through my writing, but to see my own coping mechanisms written between the lines before i even knew what they were/that i did them! Won't go into too much detail about that but I did experience dissociation and anxiety etc which I only began to address in my last year of school, so going back and reading it with a clearer head was like wow okay. that was real!

That being said! Hurt/comfort my beloved. The unloved being loved. Second chances. Do with that what you will.

What is your reason for writing?

Initially i started writing for fun, but during highschool as things got a little worse, i fell into the characters i created and i can look back now fondly and think...thank you. i still dont know if i want to touch the story because its one of the last things i have left from a time past that may not have been positive, but the experience of writing and developing the characters alongside myself back then is just sighs :') sometimes i miss that girl.

First for enjoyment, second as a way of staying sane, and now i'd say its a mixture of both. My writing is my love letter to whatever I'm writing about. I do love sharing too. Right audience and all that :)

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

I've been told that I can write particular characters' inner voices quite well, which is always a compliment :')

I think my own strength as a writer is also the weakness, which is to say that a project is never finished. Even when there's something out there and up on the interwebs for people to see, there's a good chance that if you check back months later, something has been edited or changed. I do have issues with perfectionism at times, but weirdly enough its not a negative thing when i apply it to my writing. I enjoy the process of seeing the stories i write change.

How do you feel about your own writing?

Good most days. I experiment quite a bit with ideas and writing styles/formatting so I will leave it at that lol.

Scary movies or happy endings? uh. both? am p sure my tolerance for horror is a lot higher than most people and im always down for a tragedy but i also like happy endings too. though from a writing perspective happy endings are significantly easier to pull off than sad ones (& more common. hero's journey and all that).

im the original suicide bait anon, hi. i will drop it after this because i truly don't want to start an argument or anything, i just wanted to explain where im coming from and respond to some of the things ive seen people say wrt my original ask.

unfortunately it really isnt as simple as "block the phrase" because when you mute something on this dumb ass website it still shows you the thing you muted in big blue text every time you scroll past a post with that phrase. this is usually fine if youre blocking posts that mention something that triggers you, but when its the phrase itself thats the trigger, it is incredibly ineffective. for people who cant see those phrases because itll trigger them– whether that be a panic attack or suicidal intrusive thoughts or something else– the current upward trend of suicide baiting is massively harmful. (even as a joke! triggers arent context dependent. im not gonna get triggered by something, see its a joke or that it was directed at a bad person, and be like "oh! nevermind then. call off the trauma response, all is well.") it is impossible to avoid in the current online climate, and the tools that should help us prevent mental distress don't work for us in the slightest. so the least i can do is try to ask people to reconsider using that language, not just for my own sake but for other people who i know are struggling a lot recently because of it too.

when you tell transphobes to end their lives, at most youre making them briefly upset, but trans people have a massive rate of suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. a lot of us have suicide-related trauma, and a lot of us have some moderate to severe responses to related triggers. it isn't helpful for any of us to be going around inducing intrusive thoughts and anxiety in each other just to let off a bit of frustration towards a bigot who doesnt care about anything you have to say in the first place.

like i said, im not saying all this to try and start a whole argument or anything, im gonna fully drop it after this. i just wanted to explain where im coming from (because it seems a lot of people just never even consider that the new funny trend could be harmful, since everyone else is doing it) and why the common responses of "just mute it" and stuff like that arent really helpful. there was a period of time not too long ago where suicide was seen as something deeply serious which was tacky and insensitive to joke about, but recently every tumblr blog is doing it, its in image based memes that we couldnt even mute if we tried, big youtubers like kurtis conner are doing it with no warning, etc.

Hi, thanks for the ask! I did have to go back through the propaganda tag to find them because my memory is in shambles, but I think, in general, the most memorable (affectionate) propaganda is when someone writes it for one of my nepo/less well-known faves (Reinhardt from DPA, my beloved). Specifically, however, maybe the “Liu Mingyan is aegosexual” propaganda for the AroAce-Spec Character Tournament since I’m somewhere similar on the ace spectrum (I enjoyed a lot of the Aroace-Spec Tournament propaganda & notes as well since I’m aroace lol). But the Su She propaganda also changed how I viewed his character immensely…. I don’t know it’s all good & equally impossible for me (specifically) to remember lol

Most memorable (derogatory) is harder since once I block someone, it is instantly out of my mind. They are gone with the wind. I don’t really get any memorable (derogatory) propaganda except that one time a Jiang Cheng poll breached containment & got a bunch of “Jiang Cheng is homophobic why would you EVER vote for him I’m so disappointed in y’all” stuff. The only time I actually got mad enough to screenshot/save something was this tag:

OK guys wtf HOW did this get so goddamn long!? This is my longest wav YET! And yet...I don’t think it lived up to the hype? Im just being hard on myself I guess, you all be the judge.

I really missed doing Deku and I got like, REALLY mess and REALLY stuffy during this wav and you can totally hear it nearer to the end/in the second half.

Holy fuck guys...this shit is the length of a full on anime episode and idk whether to be proud of myself or ashamed like...idk what to think. All I know is that a LOT of anons wanted this wav and well...here it is lol. It took like 3 - 4 weeks of repeat sessions of JUST sneezing and also holdback training if you will. Most of them were seperate but 90% of the holdbacks in this are 100% real so enjoy my genuine battle against fresh vials of Chinknii xux;

I'm also sort of on the fence with this one, cause it's been a hot minute since I've done a B/akugou wav and I pretty much forgot how to sneeze like him, and I rerecorded certain sneezes but without much improvement so sorry about that u.u Hopefully they get better as I do a few more wavs with him coming up.

I saw your tag about true crime fans on Reddit and I just wanted to know if you have any #thoughts about the Bryan Johberger case? Personally I’m not convinced of his guilt or innocence either way but it is disturbing how redditors demonize the defense team for doing their job and want to just send him to the firing squad asap (sorry this is non gymnastics related feel free to ignore lmao)

i think hes most likely guilty but it really disturbs me how the peanut gallery thinks throwing constitutional rights to the wind is fine just because theyre really emotionally attached to the case

ive gotten in several Fights in the comments with people on that case's subreddit to the point where i just lurk and downvote and dont engage anymore 🤡 like people are really sincerely convinced that they have a 0% chance of being accused of a crime they didn't commit and the State would never come down on them with all its might for unjustified reasons. lmao and lol.

like people suggesting that him waiving his right to a speedy trial is "retraumatizing" the victims' families because it will be dragged out longer and he CLEARLY did it so he's doing all this on purpose because he LOVES THE ATTENTION (that comes hand in hand with him literally staying in jail in the meantime but nope he just loves media scrutiny he's an attention whore!). meanwhile his lawyers NOT doing that, given all the evidence they have to plow through and the fact that its a CAPITAL MURDER CASE, would be a goddamn cupcake of an ineffective assistance appeal. but they dont know that because they learned everything they know about the legal system from law and order svu, and they dont understand that if this trial is bungled he'll walk away scot free! and they probably think double jeopardy is a moral outrage too lmao

and then there was a whole Thing about the issue of whether the trial would be broadcasted/streamed, and/or whether video recordings would be allowed. and people were like "transparency !!!! free press!!!!!" girl please be serious this isnt about free press (there are press passes for all major trials like this, btw) and you know it, this is about YOU consuming it as entertainment, integrity of the criminal justice system be damned.

same goes for stuff i saw from people during the kristin smart trial. like its literally written in black and white in the fifth amendment to the constitution that you have a right not to testify against yourself and people on twitter were still like "WHY CANT THEY FORCE HIM TO TAKE THE STAND!" and then once he was sentenced to "25 years to life" people were like "THATS WAY TOO LENIENT" bruh firstly thats the legal maximum and secondly he's realistically never seeing the light of day ever again lmao. if you dont understand what things mean just dont say anything!

the intersection of bloodthirst and self righteousness is crazy lmao. it dovetails quite nicely with gymtwt and the gymnastics subreddit in fact, like a lot of the rhetoric during the nassar sentencing (he literally did not have a trial i cannot stress that enough, he pleaded guilty) was deeply disturbing to me even though i also obviously believe he's terrible and should spend the rest of his life behind bars.

hi! it took me a few days to get around to this and i wanted to respond to both this and a few things that got left in my tags;

first of all: i did genuinely want a true analysis! this is what i was looking for! this is the sort of shit i type up for fun myself, so im happy to see it! :D so please never feel bad for long winded posts or whatever i love to chat

second of all: i am aware that by not watching jimmys POV i am missing some information, because. yk. what they put in their videos differ. but uhh. i couldnt do it im not strong enough to survive 3y/o facecam for some reason

SO. that said. !!! thank you legitimately for taking the time to write this out for me! both you and those in the replies.

i do personally enjoy a nuanced media and i love to perceive and read relationships as more than they strictly are, and i think that this interpretation..just won't ever sit right with me. not even because i think people are wrong, but straight up because i see people who just do not like scott so often that i dont know how to reconcile that AND this interpretation at the same time without it just feeling gross.

i think that scotts a little crazy and his humor isn't necessarily for me, and maybe this is just because i managed to open a backdoor into the fandom (i sent an anon abt this) but literally... when i first got into hermitcraft/life/etc, and i hadnt actually seen ANYTHING but grian's pov, all i knew was that.. scott was gay, people HATED him vehemently, and apparently he roleplayed an abusive relationship with his friend. ... which, like. i know now isnt true. but it has absolutely SOURED any sort of perspectives i see on these sorts of things, because it just... i dont know. i still havent watched empires because the stuff i see is just..not.. i dont know how i managed to get myself here, lol

i do think that A!FH is interesting! i like the way youve explained it, and i do understand entirely.. i love angst personally, but i think maybe a lot of my issues come from not seeing this exact same treatment given to joel or grian, who... also, are constantly, shitting on jimmy. ykwim? it does always feel very. fuck scott, i hate scott, scott sucks. which is not what i think youre saying here, but it is the way that i have seen this ship treated, uh. which, idk. it just kinda gets me. i think the interpretation makes sense though when you frame it that way even if its not for me.

i also think people have a bit of a weird complex about jimmy. and like. making him pathetic. but thats something else.

anyways! i really do appreciate you laying this all out for me, and im glad that maybe i just managed to find the wrong way into the fandom. i just think its.. really important that people analyze and be thoughtful of how they interpret things, because, from what ive seen, there looks to be a bit of a double standard. maybe ive just seen the wrong side, but yeah.

Hyrule:

- It confusing and full of yearning.

- The Fae Folk are very affectionate in nature. Physical touches and platonic kisses are just normal. Hyrule growing up briefly with them had adopted this habit.

- You are like that as well so you’re the one to take care of Hyrule when he wanted affection. Since other then Legend, it’s awkward to ask the others.

- He finds however while he still asks/gives you affection. He gets more flustered and embarrassed when you initiated contact.

Admittedly Hyrule never had a clear understanding of Hylian social norms. Some things were easy to pick up when he was just traveling by himself. However, there was a lot that conflicted with Fae social norms. While yes, the Fae were more mischievous and could be borderline malicious, they are very affectionate creatures. Which was the one of many things Hyrule picked up when he was being raised by the Great Fairy.

Before you join the chain, he had to hold himself back from being overly affectionate with the group. Yes, when he had chances, he would give a quick side hug or ruffling of the hair for the younger Link’s. But nothing on the level of cuddles or small peaks on the cheek and forehead. You though! You were the one to lay the affection on everyone thick. Most if not every Hero has melted from all the complements and physical affection.

Hyrule was living his best life now with you! Cuddles are a must for the two of you. Especially when one another has been having a rough day. You’ve also gotten the others involved with this newly formed ritual. He just over all feeling comfortable and loved.

Which then leads to Hyrule’s issue. Slowly he began to feel embarrassed with every peak after he heals you. Then his heart begins to race when he is cuddled up resting his head against your chest. Even holding your hands became hard for him to stand! It felt so warm but also made him fearful. He was scared of losing you. Losing this warmth. This comfort. He wanted to keep it but scared that this feeling was to good for him.

“-and that’s what happen so far.” He was visiting the Great Fairy Cotera of Wild’s Era. He had visited her each time they visited Kakariko. Cotera gently hummed messing with his hair. “What should I do?” He looks up to the giantess worriedly. His small sisters surround him ether sitting on top of him or by his side.

Their mother hummed as she thought about his problem. “My dear sweet child.” She started after a long pause “this human… do you feel different compared to your other friends? Or with your siblings in the forest?”

Hyrule thought about it after a while shook his head. “No… I did used to feel embarrassed with the others but it was different. This is more… warm?”

“Warm?” She urges him gently to continue. “Do you hate it?”

“No…” he sounded like a child, fidgeting in his seat “I hate how anxious it makes me now.” You meant a lot to him. Hyrule knew you meant a lot to everyone too, but that normal! You’ve helped them all in some sort of way! Yet he was deep in that unidentifiable emotion towards you. He adores you. All of you. Even during your more impulsive actions he didn’t mind having to heal you. Of course, he would truly rather not heal anyone with his magic. Yet… with you giving his payment in kisses on the cheek or forehead… he can’t stay mad at you.

“Chin up little one.” Cotera lifted up his head “your feelings are valid and has a simple explanation.” Hyrule pouted slightly making her giggle a bit tapping lightly on his nose. “You my dear seem to love your sweet human.”

It was like a lanterned was just lit in a dark cave he was wandering in. Finally revealing a path out. Everything thing slowly explaining itself. “Oh…” was all he could say as he was comprehending it. His sisters were giggling at their brother’s expense causing him to blush. It all made to much sense.

“Roolie! Are you nearby?” He and the Great Fairy both perk up when they heard your voice. He stared up at the Great Fairy expectingly.

“Well?” Cotera nudged him off of the petals of her fountain. “What are you waiting for little one?”

- Well, that was embarrassing and he knows once he starts perusing you. The more his siblings of the forest will start to tease him. Not only that but the chain also catches on pretty quickly.

- He becomes a blushing and stuttering mess around you, not pulling away from your touch but leaning more into him.

- It will be a miracle if he confesses but he will! And he will do it in a more intimate manner though, with or without help.

Four:

- It took long to accept but filled with soft cotton fluff.

- Isn’t canon in the manga that the colors (minus Vio) straight up try to impress a girl they just met?

- Now I’m not saying he is like that now a days, but old habits die hard right. He probably doesn’t even recognize that he still does it.

- Honest to God the resident brain cell is the only one that new point blank what was happening. Having a “not again” moment.

It’s been a while since Four was back in his forage. He missed every second of it. The smithing process was the one hobby each color had in common. As Link they found it relaxing, something to get their mind off of things.

That morning was no different. Traveling on the road was stressful even for a seasoned adventurer. Traveling alone was boring which was the upside according to Red. It relieved them of responsibility Green was used to taking upon himself to carry. Blue was at least a lot calmer with having to be on alert all the time. Vio had pointed out this was mainly because of You.

The chaos came back full force. The same argument has been happening recently, it was about his feelings towards you. Now they all liked you as a friend. Four knew that for a fact. He was only six when he felt your presence and this situation, he was in was as if an imaginary friend became real! At least that’s what Red felt.

No matter if they were unified or separated, Four could trust you to help him out of even the messiest situations. So, what if some of those situations were caused by him trying to impress you? That doesn’t mean anything!

Just because Blue became a stuttering mess when you surprised Four with a flower crown just meant he was taken aback at your kindness! He isn’t good at showing his emotions. Yeah, so what about Green becoming a soft mess when you first showered him in praise and affection. Wouldn’t any person do that from someone that been through hell and back with them? It doesn’t count that Red craves your affection! He is like that with everybody and just because it makes him feel different it doesn’t count. Someone saves Vio from this.

Four was conflicted which is why he was working so early in the morning. They wouldn’t shut up about their own feelings. It was a chaotic mess inside his head as soon as he woke up. A weight on his back clued him back into reality “Good morning!” You while looking down at him smiling still holding on lazily. “How is the most beautiful person here doing?”

Ah. There goes most of composure out the window. Vio was the last one standing with Green and Blue almost hanging on. You loved to tease him and he was never able to get you back. “Don’t know how are you?” Four was really struggling to keep unified and calm. He was shaking because of the other three’s nerves. You stared at him wide eyed.

“Jeez look at you!” You give him a squeeze before finally let go of him “you’ve grown! If only you were that smooth towards Erune.” You teased.

The blush he was so desperately trying to beat down started to flare up this time out embarrassment. “Can we not talk about that?” Four could only cringe when he thought back at that bit in his adventure. Him and Erune have been close friends since then, but the colors were really trying to play the hero in front of the poor girl back then. Their antics truly were really not impressing anyone.

Green was really happy he grew out of it. Seriously it‘s not like Blue really cared about it anyway he was just a kid! Red was just happy that he got a long-term friend out of it! The audacity the others had was killing Vio. They are still just as bad and it seems like no one was listening to reason.

An explosion of emotions and thoughts collided in Four’s skull. Three denying their logical side’s claim all while getting thrown every instant in their faces by the odd one out. “Whatcha making anyway?” You were observing the short knife blade curiosity not seeing the other’s internal debate. Vio felt like he had to spell it out to each of them. Pulling up memories of their actions towards the outlander. Four struggled to focus on what you were saying but it was too loud!

“Woah there.” You turn him away from his project letting it sit safely on a cooler section of the work top. “Breath Link.” You where kneeling down in-front of him holding his hand. He focused on your warmth. The way you rubbed small circles on the back of his hand. On your voice that instructed him to breathe. In for four, hold for seven, let out for eight. Repeat. Slowly the divide melded back together. Soon the voices faded out. “There we go.” You whispered “good job Link.” Four stared back at you still tired from everything but nonetheless happy that your here with him.

Man, he loved you so much.

- Four as a whole though is still struggling to come to terms with it, even though he had already admitted his feelings.

- Another case of: drown him in affection until he realized. Not because of him not believing you! It’s just you have four people in a trench coat here! If one is conflicted then four as a whole will feel that subtly.

- The little gremlin is going to have a field day! He was thinking about messing around but the other hero is doing his work for him!

- Not the best wing man but he honestly isn’t trying. He is just enjoying the journey.

- He might be tempted to help if he was asked but there isn’t much he could do. You are his right hand after all! Why would he let your secrets go so easily?

- Imagine Wind just vibes with you when the other Link is trying their best and you literally ask if the other hero was ok since they are acting weird around you. It would take Wind a minute to get an answer because all he is thinking is: ‘are you dense?’

- Or on the flip side. If you know about their feelings. He would definitely be on board of helping you out. Again, you’re his right hand! Of course, he’ll help you! (Favoritism)

- Wind: “Don't worry. He likes your butt and fancy hair. I know. I read their diary.” (Y/n): “He thinks it's fancy?”
