Ive got through most of the game and boy i have some THOUGHTS... spoilers under the cut!!

I didn't expect to like the game so much cause im not actually that much of a horror fan (<- squeamish) , and like i said in the last post I wasn't sure how fun a game all about decrypting the dialogue will be (<- dumbass). But in the end I think the game mechanics is exactly the source of all the charm!! And come to think of it, it's a very unique mechanic too. The word-guessing makes the game exciting and scary (and sometimes is the key to avoiding certain death), but there's also just something about overcoming "broken" language to express your thoughts that is inherently really sweet to me. Maybe this is a wild comparison but its like that greentext thats like "bad times friend ahead...i go away but we are two of soul, i will return".

The game is also just pretty player-friendly, and the characters are all (well, mostly) really chill, so it wasnt very hard to guess most of the words too. But i will say that sometimes, you can kind of tell the nuance of the language-translation makes more sense as Japanese, so maybe that gave me a slight edge.

After playing the demo I thought this would be a really short game (like around 2-3 hrs), but I clocked in a solid 6 hours today LOL...and im still missing a few endings. Big spoiler but when MC "kills" Mr. crawling it genuinely upset me like GIRL WHAT IN THE FRESH HELL..........😭😭😭 but thank god he was fine :DD the scene where he shut himself in a closet crying because he thought the MC abandoned him 😭😭😭😭 IM SORRYYY but also like omg...😭😭😭😭 he ouppy............😭😭😭😭

But in contrast to those heavy moments there are also points where i think the game doesn't take itself very seriously LOL so by like 3 hours in it just kind of became a really chill game :)) I love how the MC is just so ridiculously forward being like "Do you have a crush on me or something 🥺👉👈" and most of them were just like "whats that lmfao"

You know. I have Thoughts now about Olric.

I originally wanted him added as a romance option (as do many others) and I think I changed my mind! I love him and he's amazing and supportive and he likes rocks but what I think so far that I really super love for him? Is how friendly he is and so far (I'm not far) he has zero romance related lines. Like he's not a romance option, but looking at the other NPCs (the innkeeper/wife, the general store owner/wife, the retired socialite who talks about past flings) I think Olric stands out as possibly the only one I can hope for aroace representation.

Let this guy just exist with the most positive vibes ever because he's just a good guy with positive vibes for everyone.

Hiiiii thank you! Okay so usually when i choose my own colours i just pick whatever i feel like looks nice so i don't really have a good explanation for that (yet) lmao, but! i also do this that i think works pretty well too:

which is basically just messing around with the layer filters/Blending Modes of the art programs until i get something that looks nice, not necessarily using the same ones i used here, but any that might work, also sometimes i choose whatever colours (not colour picking) and then do this same process to make them look better :P

The reason I think the Bizzies being gender swapped works way better than having the Lizzies be gay is because it makes space in this musical for women to have sexual appetites and agency towards men in a way that's fairly rare in depictions of heterosexual relationships. For the Bizzies to seduce the Warriors by offering what they know the Warriors want and have the Warriors feel empowered to take it is imo more subversive than just like. The concept that women can be attracted to other women. Within the context of Warriors, because the text does address queerness in other places, I think it ends up being a more powerful statement to depict (some of) the Warriors as heterosexual women who have sexual agency than just being like. Well in a lesbian relationship someones gotta be the "guy" and tonight its gonna be the Warriors. Cowgirl is a heterosexual woman and she likes sex and the narrative never calls her a slut for that, and even when her sex drive gets her into trouble its still explicitly the fault of the person who tricked her, not her fault for wanting to get laid. When Rembrandt is listing the needs the Bizzies are offering to fulfill for the Warriors, she lists sex right up there with food. And thats something that I feel like doesnt often get talked about with heterosexual women especially in fiction. Theyre expected to be passive. The idea that the Warriors could need to get laid as badly as they need to eat and take a nap is just treated as like yeah duh. They've had a bad night. And that IS a revolutionary thing to put in a musical.

Sometimes I think about Sanji and his cleanliness. He washes himself once a day just like Nami and Robin do out of the whole crew.

He probably does it out of the pride of a chef right? Got to stay clean to cook! Can't make feasts with dirty clothes or body.

Or maybe if he's clean then no bugs would be interested in crawling on him. If he scrubs himself and his kitchen spotless there won't be a corner where a bug might make a home and he won't freak out.

How much dirt had been on him from that rock, how the rain water just made him feel worse. Feeling himself slowly wither away and on top of that feeling the roughness of the dirt and sea salt in his skin that never went away.

He must've felt delighted when he got a bath when they got rescued.

How he probably couldnt take off that helmet to wash his hair for seven months, caked with grime, sweat, bugs and blood. They maybe gave him a basin and towel, but it could never feel the same as a hot bath. He couldn't change his clothes, so even if he cleaned hus bidy, his clothes remained dirty rags.

He must enjoy getting cleaned. To feel in the shower washing his hair, washing away the feel of iron against his head, making sure nothing was on his hair. That he could run his hands through it and there are no knots, no clumps of mystery.

I wonder if he takes extra long sometimes, if he had bad days, scrubbing dirt he still felt on his skin that wasnt there. Or just feeling the hot water, knowing it wasn't rain, or limited lukewarm water.

I wonder if it bothers him if he gets too dirty on an island and can't wash himself right away. That a corner of his mind will always say

Or maybe it won't. Becauase another part of him reminds him of the Merry or Sunny, waiting for him to come back home, and the soaps and hot water that are waiting for him. Maybe he even enjoys getting dirty somedays, knowing that he's not too far away from getting rid of the mess, so he can indulge a little bit and horse around and relax with the others, even if it means getting messy. It's his choice now.

Because to Sanji being clean (or even getting dirty) means being free
