i think that we're good. i spent too many sundays thinking we were small, doomed little creatures. that all of humanity, even doctors, and philanthropists, and saints and parents and friends were bad. that it is our lifes mission to overcome it. but i think we're good. we help strangers and we are kind when we'd rather not be just to spare people's feelings. and sure, of course people do bad things. people do awful things. but i think our hearts are good. and maybe thats niave. maybe that's stupid. but id like to believe thats true. id like to think we're good.

[ID: A colourless, digital Trigun comic of Vash and Wolfwood talking about Wolfwood's scars. They're both laying in bed and topless. Vash lays on top of Wolfwood, playing with the rosary around his neck. Then, Vash kisses a spot on Wolfwood's chest. Wolfwood asks, "What are you doing?" Vash smiles sadly, "You got shot here. In the last town we visited. You didn't even bother moving."

Vash props himself up over Wolfwood, who frowns slightly. Wolfwood is quiet for a moment before he says, "You remember that, huh?" Vash grabs Wolfwood's left wrist and brings it to his face. "And here." He kisses another spot there. "When you helped free the hostages from that robber..." Wolfwood dismissively says, looking away, "Was a lucky shot." Vash huffs, “Don’t brag. Jeez.”

Half of Wolfwood's expression is shown, eyes returning to Vash who is now sitting up, continuing to say, "And..." Vash goes on and kiss Wolfwood's right palm. "You got cut here, even though that girl was aiming at me." A moment from the past flashes, of Wolfwood grabbing a knife aimed at Vash, his hand bleeding.

At present, Vash moves down and puts another kiss on Wolfwood's right shoulder. "And here, from watching my back." Another memory flashes of Wolfwood and Vash back to back. Vash looks back as Wolfwood grins while holding Punisher, bleeding from multiple gunshots in his shoulder.

"And," Vash combs up Wolfwood's hair to reveal his forehead, "Here." A final memory shows Wolfwood with a regeneration vial in his mouth while getting shot on his temple. The next panel is framed in blood with Vash at the center, eyes wide and stunned in horror. The next panel is a closed up shot of Wolfwood's eye, locked on Vash's face.

Back to present, Vash’s head is bowed down as Wolfwood raises a hand to his nape and says, “Spikey.”

Wolfwood looks serious and frowns as he says, "We talked about this. Those were my decisions. They're not there anymore. Forget about them." Vash looks very sad before he smiles ruefully and says, "I still see them. All the time." He leans down so they touch foreheads. Wolfwood’s sorrowful expression can be seen as Vash says, "You protect so much. I could never forget what you've done to me. And many others..."

In the last image, they're drawn more cartoonishly. Wolfwood sweats and asks, "You don't actually remember every wound, right?" Vash points at a spot on his chest. "Kuroneko left a scratch here 7 times." Wolfwood, startled, says, "Why the hell are you keeping count—" End ID]

Sevika protecting Isha (and my feelings below):

I think the most heartbreaking, yet endearing, part of this whole scene, is that Sevika only has one arm.

in holding onto Isha, she renders herself defenseless. she has no clue what she's running into, but she won't put Isha down. she runs blind and unable to quickly fight back with her remaining arm.

and she doesn't give Isha a chance to run on her own. she just holds her. doesn't get angry when she fights her. doesn't scold her. just holds her tighter. and keeping a squirmy kids still is hard enough with two arms, let alone a kid fighting you as hard as she can with just one.

and she's soft with her, just in general. none of that normal tug and sharpness we're used to seeing. she's of course fighting her enough to keep her from slipping out of her grasp, but that's it.

I just. I'm not normal about them.

Kaeyappreciation post!

Kaeya is wonderful in a sense that he:

Has a penmanship described as "Beautiful Handwriting". He for sure worked on that.

Willingly spends his time making sure his outfit looks perfect

Is well-loved by Mondstadt and the Dawn Winery staff

Is described to like a prince, both in looks and in actions

Is shown to be gentle and caring to children and elderly, most seen with Klee and the staff from Dawn Winery

Is a great listener and, therefore, also knows what gifts to buy based off of something someone said in passing

Is predominantly kind- unafraid to help out and defend someone in need. His first reaction is always kindness, and worry about covering up that kindness later on

But Kaeya also has his moments where he:

Says things out of pocket with enough alcohol in his system. Things that usually lead to shame and regret.

Would rather give others the credit for his hard work if he could help it

Intentionally makes himself look suspicious by withholding information and only throwing tidbits that are not of substance

Has sadist tendencies, which affects how he treats both his (cavalry) company and his enemies

Can and will use underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand

Rarely ever says what he truly wants to say

Has a fake smile. Usually lies or only deals with half truths.

He is such a complex character. I really do want people to appreciate him and his intricacies more. The fact that his entire personality and story is done so well and continues to actually grow and expand as the story progresses is something that genuinely makes me want to keep watch of him. I have never, in all my fandoms, stuck to a character as long as I did with Kaeya, and honestly? I know I'm not alone with this.

i kinda hate seeing people say bakugo should face consequences for his bullying of izuku like. his consequences are his unending guilt, his fear he will never catch up to izuku, his fear that izuku will leave him behind, that is his consequence. its forever having to know that nothing he does will take away the pain and suffering he caused the most important person in his life. his consequence is dying in order to try to bridge the gap between them. his consequence is always regretting not taking his hand, not allowing himself to fully appreciate izukus warmth until maybe its too late. his consequence is spending eight (8!) years without him by his side, without him to compete against. his consequence is forever having imposter syndrome. not truly thinking he is a good enough person to be a hero. his consequence is being friends with todoroki and witnessing endeavors fall from fame due to his ego. witnessing him losing his family because of his choices. its having to witness a nickname given to izuku in childhood that was meant to hurt, to bruise, turn into the worlds greatest hero name and knowing all he contributed to it was spite.

THATS his consequence not whatever fuckass social shaming you think he deserves.

people sometimes assign the ‘girlboss x malewife’ trop to Dickkory, when really i don’t think thats them, they both equally badass and equally traumatize, Kory is very feminine, and outside of her perception of modesty is lady like while Dick is fairly masculine, Kory was put in the damsel in destress position before while Dick is this man in command and leader all the time, what works for them is that they actually respect each other, communicate together, and let the other do what they are good at doing

Kory is a girlboss she is a worrier princess who is growing to be a strong and powerful but compassionate leader who would literally one day be a Queen! Dick is not really a malewife, a malewife would be taking on a traditionally feminine gender role leaving the more masculine ones to his wife etc. Dick doesn’t really, he didn’t even organize his apartment until kory showed up. no Dick is a king, a powerful ally, an incredible leader and a brilliant mind capable of gaining the trust and respect of the world superheros to the point they will follow him anywhere. They complement each other, they are a power couple, a King and Queen!

Traveling through time and space to find each others in every universe. Looks normal… but when you get to know them… they both a special kind of insane. Hot couple. Etc.

What i think i have to reckon with rifht now is that the majority of human beings on this earth are filled with a deep evil which is something that is actually really hard to comprehend. you might say it but genuinely letting yourself feel the weight of it is near impossible. like we are a species of fundamental cruelty and selfishness and thats just how it is. our impulses are not towards kindness or connection. we want blood and money and air conditioning. we’re bad dude. we’re all rotted up inside, everywhere, and we have created rotten worlds

havent seen this take in a while thankfully but it popped up in my head and i wanna post this anyways. i think everyone who talks about how siffrin “got off too easy” at the end of isat and his friends should have abandoned him should go read warrior cats if they want an example of a character using their trauma as their god-given jailbreak card to treat their family and peers (a good amount of whom who were completely innocent) like dogshit, and who faces zero consequences from the narrative for it (and in fact bends over to blame their peers). like read all the shit jayfeather does while the narrative sobs over how tragic but awesome and quirky he is and then look me in the eye and tell me siffrin’s ending was poorly written.

My Theory on Kazui's Parent's.

Q: Is there a meaning behind your name?

A: It's cause I'm the eldest son. It seems like my father was also wishing I'd be "a strong man."

The wording of Kazui's answer here really makes me think. We know that Kazui is strong. He defended Fuuta against Kotoko and even talks about having "never gone up against a woman [like her]" in his VD, implying that he has gotten into fights before (most likely at work - either in the field or in training.)

It seems like, to me, Kazui has parents with very traditional views. Kazui's father wishing that he would turn out to be "a strong man" could imply that he places value on the old-style gender roles in family or society in general. Yes he most likely thinks that being strong physically is important, but also being strong mentally. A 'normal' man who doesn't cry, doesn't show emotain. A man who provides for his family and sticks to tradition, simple as. A son who does what's expected of him - that kind of strong.

I also think the way Kazui talks is linked to his family's old-school beliefs. Despite only being 39, Kazui always refers to himself as an "old man" and says things like "when your mature/older like me," etc. It's a bit odd, though it might be a cultural thing. Kazui does call himself immature though, so for a man who believes he has only grown up in terms of his age and not his mind, he puts an awful lot of weight on what it means to be an adult. Can you see where I'm going with this? Yup it's back to his strong man comment baby!!!

In that previous qoute Kazui says how his father was also wishing he'd be a strong man. I think the other person Kazui is referencing might very well be himself. I think if Kazui has been taught these old school gender-roles since he was a child, then he might hold alot of weight to them. He wouldn't know any different if that was all he heard about what it meant to be a man as a kid, and therefore wants to live up to that expectation his parents hold of him. He, however, quickly learns that he is not this way and internalises it as something being wrong with him, something that isn't normal that he must fix. Which brings me to my next point...

I think that Kazui's family are more important to understanding his crime then we may think based on what's been shown to us so far, and I'd even go so far as to say that their beliefs might've been a very big reason/the reason on why Kazui felt the need to lie and marry Hinako.

If we take a situation where Kazui has very traditional parents who want him to grow up quickly, get a nice job and settle down young, it might make sense on why he felt obligated to marry Hinako. In Half he talks about how he's confused on why he doesn't feel happiness in their relationship, as "isn't this what happiness is?" I believe these ideas came from Kazui's parent's. That perhaps they unknowingly (or full knowingly) drilled the idea into his head that a perfect looking couple such as he and Hinako is the ultimate true love, the true happiness, and that he should follow in those steps if he wants to be happy and successful as it in turn will also make them happy and proud of him.

Since I'll be delaying the next update by a week, I'm going to acquaint myself with the new brushes I might be using. I should be learning to paint the plants myself, but that would take forever. So I have to break that mindset and just get the comic going. Their story is important, not the weeds that will show up in a few frames hfhfd.
