Dick picks up baking at random (Donna asked him to join her maybe) and it just clicked in his head. It's just like science and it needs precision that he can get completely absorbed in and get a delicious reward out of. he doesn't bake much and it's not a very reassuring thing but Dick's baking sweet pastries is one of Mar'is core childhood memories (kory gets flout and flirts with him, kiss the cook and all that)

Kory really gets into wrestling on the side but since she has super strength it's only with Thamaskera's worriers (which she seriously is kicking their ass, she loses to Diana but that's Diana, kory is still young) or to tame wild animals, Dick took her to the Zoo for a date and she helped idk get a raino locked or smth so the vets can check him, they have her on speed dial since

I just LOVE that panel where she just launches them to space. I love this element of George Pérez's art where he always translates characters' treats into panels, showing us how her love is such a force that can't be kept or held back, and Dick is so content and happy to be submerged in it

whenever canon or fics or anything are like "and dick and kory are publically together!" im like ok but how does that factor into his secret identity??? do people not wonder why this supposedly normal, if very rich, dude is dating an alien supermodel superhero?? and hangs out with all the other superheroes she works with???? one of which is always suspiciously absent???????????

I like these conversations because interestingly enough it’s the fact that Dick and Barbara are both competent, intelligent, paranoid, and well known as pillars of their parts of the superhero community. They have a mutual understanding of the insanity of growing up in Gotham and being Batman’s first protégés is the reason I don’t really like them together. Where is the challenge? Especially since so much of Dick was him having to learn to not be these things and to be able to be more free and open-minded and it turn it is what Barbara needs too? Someone who is different from her that challenges her and opens her up to something different.

Oh valid!! That’s honestly my main issue w it is I feel that DinahBabs and DicKory move their characterizations forward more and there’s more true narrative growth
