heading off to the kitchen to grab your phone (for blackmail), you hear a sudden clank and a scoff from mr. manchild.

turning your head once more to face him, youre once again met with a sight youd definitely want to keep in your book of memories forever.

there, right in front of you, was the itoshi sae, mr. idgafer, the prodigal son™, the man of many names, and the love you call your life, staring down at the fork with the meanest mog and scowliest (is that even a word) face the world has ever seen.

thats right. the itoshi sae that was present right now, at this time and day, was not only the itoshi sae you fell in love with, but also the itoshi sae youd want to spoil, protect, and care for with your whole life.

“sae…” you try to stop yourself from laughing. you really do.

but in that moment, all hell seems to break lose, and that hell was your own laughing hell.

pokemon dick grayson WOULD have:

NB: these pokemon are battle focused/ like that because these are intended as nightwing's pokemon this is because i kinda believe in this regard dgs 'a blank in a mask' all his pokemon are for combat because thats what he prioritises (and helping people but you know) not his public image. i feel like he wouldn't bring light to his pokemon in media presences because a) he ain't brucie b) the disparity between richard grayson and a media version of him is much less than batman and brucie i.e his pokemon aren't suspicious in the context

Now, onward!

(i) Beldum/ Metang (eventually metagross): one of the smartest pokemon, the key reason they're together is because of the detective work. metang hasn't quite evolved yet, but dick hatched a tiny beldum that then became metang. i hc dick being someone who's thinking is hard for other people to keep up with due to his lateral thinking which is quite different to bruce's and a lot of other people- he uses logic like a tool or a toy to augment manipulations basically. beldum didn't use to be very vocal so dick just talked to it all the time kinda like a recorder when it evolved it was able to strengthen his own leaps in logic. icl it's kind like batman- someone who's way of thinking is very different and direct compared to dicks but complements it nonetheless.

(ii) Corvisquire, eventually Corviknight (find me a better pokemon allegory for the robin- nightwing- batman pipeline. also: mask like markings?? take on much larger predators despite the size difference and are known to be fierce and territorial?? it writes itself..) i feel like rookidee would be a peak robin pokemon who baby dickie had in the circus because it's his family tradition that every grayson gets a flying type when they start performing to 'remind them of the sky they seek and the closed grip of gravity they escape' i'm romanticising but!!! it finally evolves into corviknight after the whole 'leave your keys with alfred thing' because that's the point at which adulthood is realised for the both of them: banishment. growing pains. side note his dads starting flying type was a talonflame. dick still has a soft spot for them: all those fiery aerial displays.. ik a lot of people headcanon bruce having a corviknight but i think noivern fulfills his 'dark knight' aspect as corviknight does for dick

(iii) Salamance (clearest realisation of flight- dg would so relate to that kinda will power unflinching attitude and belief and faith in one's self. also i think he also deeply understands the urge to leave gravity behind that binds him and bagon almost immediately. i see him getting bagon in peak robin days 10/12 a cackling imp of a boy 'fearless' and 'full of grace' and finding this pokemon with the same urge to challenge gravity. dick never tries to stop bagon from jumping from great heights and instead jumps with him which basically makes the little guy imprint on him straight away. alfred probably jokes about their being two who disregard gravity in the manor now while bruce is exasperated. i think the salamance evolution happened in tamaran/ brothers blood era importantly away from bruce to kinda exacerbate their sense of alienation from one other. salamance loves flying duh and dick and him have a ritual of flying so high and far whenever he wants to abandon the world slightly.

(iv) alolan ninetales i think ninetales is a really common choice for batfam or aus in general cause tbh just look at it!!! but i hvnt really seen alolan ninetales for nightwing. so reasoning: they are considered sacred messengers of sorts and protect packs of vulpix viciously. unlike the normal ninetales which is often standoffish, they are quite gentle. i think that kind of corresponds to dicks image of being a saviour you know?? just optimism, guiding light for bruce and a lot of the DCU something different. i think ninetales is a really strong counter to a lot of pokemon but dicks is a bit of a glass cannon. it can deal out a lot of damage but it really relies on agility and not being hit. he uses it against dragon types and fairy types exclusively. hc that he found vulpix during peak crutches/ renegade arc ie blüdhaven destruction on the horizon and hid it from everybody. vulpix didn't like him at first but it has a really strong sense of judgement. i think it reminds him of donna- the idea of guiding light and stuff. i also see it as kind of his fanon self- people see it on the surface and think it's easy to fight or it only knows elegance but it has greater depths than that. it's the idea of staying true to yourself and deliverance in the dcu. idk man it's kinda like the faith that goes on to define nightwing.

(v) Zeraora the pokemon dick handspars with and an inspiration for riolu. zeraora genuinely distrust all humans because they were betrayed. dick met in an alternate universe that there's no lack of. there he gained its trust by defending it in battle then fighting alongside it. i can otherwise see it being a tamaranean pokemon that decided to follow him back. it heavily distrusts everybody but dick himself. an electric type it tries to get his other pokemon to battle it regularly. it rarely stays in its pokeball and wanders the rooftops with him and complements nightwing. i think it kinda of showcases ash's strength of character that zeraora trusts it now- kinda like his ability to maintain relationships throughout the hero community again it's all about faith and belief. also it represents his inner desire to get stronger all the time- his desire to do good.

(vi) Zoroark: this one was really hard but i think it got down to dicks whole 'i'm whoever you want me to be' attitude the idea of he perceives himself is so alien to how he's perceived by others. dick captured zoroark in his role as batman with damian a point at which he basically abandoned his own identity to use bruce's which was really powerful. i also think someone who infiltrates organisations as much as he does needs a flexible partner n that role.

(i) Intelon (sniping skills? specially identifies perceived weak spots before attacking so it knows where to strike? the SECRET AGENT pokemon?? cmon tell me that's not SO grayson themed..) (also the imagery of having a lazy drizzile he doesn't understand because he's been 'on the go' his whole life and kinda wishing he'd get sobble back and immediately whiplashing when he realises he's thinking like bruce.) i feel like he'd get it during the grayson arc tho and just kinda want to care for something.. keep something safe and be useful so he'll happily adopt a crying sobble. he normally wouldn't but in that scenario i think he'd miss caring for something so he'd do it.

(ii) dragonair definitely a gift from clark which is quite a popular hc i think. he doesn't really use her in battle but mostly to calm down civilians because of serene nature and elegance. pairs well with ninetales and the both of them work really well together. dragonair is also more on the undercover side like inteleon and it's probably never going to evolve into dragonite which is fair. it does acrobatics with ash and they enjoy doing silk together.

thoughts for others in DCU while writing:

bruce as already mentioned would have a noivern to kinda contend with the bat ideal plus the dark knight thing.

i also hc him having a malamar partially because of batman detective duties clues amalgamation and also to make him worse in the feelings department. malamar would have def been the one agreeing dick should spend all time ever by bruce (their) s side. he's personally emotionally stunted.

i see bruce having a gothitelle as well: they're supposed to be able to see the future and when people and galaxies die so i guess it probably saw jason would die not as robin so knew nothing. she met bruce in the league of shadows and she saw something in him that compelled her to follow. she's quite detached and doesn't really like fighting- so she's part of the detective and interrogative style of things due to her sharp mind.

jason's starter would so be a nickit he found by chance it takes a while for them to build up trust with each other but they def ran cons together when that happened

i also low key see jason with a typhlosion but i can't explain it. also galarian corsola

tim has quite a few psychic pokemon: partly i'd say because of leading the teen titans and all the collaborations that needs is made much easier when you have psychics to link people up: i hc him finding a yamask at an archaeological site with him parents that kinda imprinted on him-

and a female meowstic one day when he was at boarding school. since females are more selfish averse and generally more territorial than males this was a hard road but she's now his most loyal partner probably and willing to use full force a lot.

i also hc him having a kirlia when he goes to bruce after jason's death- since the ralts line is known for their relationship with emotions i feel like the boy with enough empathy to intentionally don the mask to save batman is probably most relatable to one.

another one i can so see him having is a flygon: cool personality ideal for carrying dragon type moves. i think this is solidly one he catches as robin or while he's training to become robin maybe with lady shiva.

i feel like damian would def get a riolu when he gets gotham (idk it that very done before?) probs by dick/ alfred to teach him the concept of saving not hurting. since riolu is known for aura + sensing emotions i think it kinda helps damian develop more empathy for those ard him. also they would definitely spar with each other as bonding time. riolu looks up to ash a lot as well i think.

i think steph would really vibe with an alolan raichu psychic/ fairy type. she loves having something that's really effective against the dragon types common in the other bats and leverages it. i feel like she probs relied on it a lot during her robin era to make up where she struggled with sheer power. it's a psychic that get along with tim's yamask quite well.

can def see steph with a rillaboom to contend with the power issue. it's her starter i think and she found it as a grookey that her dad had captured. she probably stole it away and they've been close ever since. rillaboom can be quite serious and it enjoys showcasing its power with wrestling displays

i can so see cass having a weavile. she bonded with it before she killed anyone as a kid and her dad obvs encouraged it. weavile has an impulse for acting before thinking like cass so they just indulge each others worst impulses. it hates jason as all who treat the no killing rule as sacred do. weavile the most because it was with cass the whole time and know how much it means to her.

i also see cass with a togekiss and the idea of again calming down civilians it's an extension of her personality away from batgirl.

(I mean the ladybug and cat holder). I know that Marinette is with the Fox and Ivan with the turtle, but for some reason I think that if they swap it would combine more (I speak more in symbolism, ivan who cannot lie with the "miraculous of lie"). What is the weapon of each carrier? About the turtle and Ivan, I think a purplish blue would match more (that leatherback turtle). What are the camouflaged forms of each miraculous? First choices are also listed there, if there isnt an alternative listed, they either had the same idea or no strong preference for a different holder. Regarding swapping holders based on symbolism (i.e. Ivan with the fox, Mari with the turtle) that would be super cool and i may draw them at some point in the future, but wouldn't fit with my au. This is because my bug and cat holders choose them based on preexisting relationships, traits, and talents.

Struggled with Alyas rabbit miraculous tbh, it doesnt quite fit with my au for it to stay a pocket watch anyway (the Rabbits power being swapped from Burrow in a time sense, to Burrow in a dig way) so i guess its normal activated form would be some kind of keychain? Alyas disguise currently is a tamogachi :)

Markovs claw connects to his existing claws, and mimics what claws he already has.

Mirelle and Aroure have similar chokers with the charm changed. Aroure has the lightning bolt, Mirelle has the rain drop. They have the chokers replicated by comission with Marinette so they can swap the actual miraculous between them when needed.

Sabrinas sunglasses are prescription. They could also be just normal glasses, no black tint, when appropriate.

i had the best bsd famous no powers au headcanons because i got the mental image of dazai saying he “hates” chuuya and none of his friends should listen to him because chuuya sucks and atsushi sadly putting the chuuya poster he wanted to buy back

most of them would be in the entertainment btw but a few exceptions here and there

okay first of all a lot of the ways every one met every one would be different for the sake of like creative liberty sfakdj like dazai and atsushi would have met earlier ; i would probably not put akutagawa in the music industry so his relationship with dazai would be different - but i havent actually worked any of that out yet so ignore this

first of all - a key plot point would be that chuuya and dazai had a falling out - and i mean an actual falling out like they cant stand anyone bringing the other up

which really sucks for the ada becuz like chuuya’s music >>>>>>>>>>>

anyway here are what i think some of the characters would be like

chuuya: 

- he rose to fame as a teenager - he’s wildly known for his good music and his smexy face 

- a good portion of younger artists like his music and look up to him

- he likes writing his own music but sometimes feels conscious about more dark/personal songs

- had a falling out with dazai at some point becuz of this he does not like ppl listening to the music that comes from dazai’s friends but he does secretly like a lot of their songs

- has secret social media accounts to stalk dazai

- has cried becuz he convinced himself at some point about dazai ‘being with’ almost everyone at the agency (at different time periods) and was not right even once

- every single one of his friends knows that half of his music is obviously about dazai but no one knows how to bring it up

- every one’s favorite thirst trap

- you know how a product will appear for a .000000000000000001 sec w/ a bts member and immediately get sold out ?? yeah thats how it is for him

- he’s very strict about crediting ppl - like someone will say like two words to him that’ll inspire him and he’ll credit them as co-writer

- im not sure if i want him to be a singer or not but he’s definitely involved in other aspects such as writing producing etc

- HATES chuuya 

- so much that he’s constantly thinking about him like the pathetic wet cat that he is

- he has forbidden everyone in the agency from listening to chuuya’s music

- there may or may not be a secret underground community within the ada that listens to chuuya’s music and fangirls over him and it may or may not include everyone but dazai

- when someones mad at dazai they blast chuuya’s music

- *listening to chuuya’s music, secretly* wait is this fucking song about me ? ... nah

- atsushi once wrote a song about dazai and how glad that he was that he had a brother figure like dazai and dazai cried for 24 hours straight 

- atsushi is no longer allowed to casually write about him 

- he acts really playful and aloof but he streams all of his friends music religiously and is secretly their biggest fan

- has tried to convince everyone he knows that sings to sing his suicide song - no one has agreed yet

- he has trouble finding inspiration but when he does he latches on - sometimes he’ll disappear for days and then come back with the most perfect songs 

- really only openly nice and supportive to atsushi tbh

- i want him to be with dazai earlier becuz i think it would let their dynamic really settle and atsushi trauma-response personality won’t be as prominent if that makes sense

- atsushi’s favorite musician is everyone :D no im kidding thats what he says but its actually chuuya 

- yeah he’s the younger brother of dazai (not sure if their kinda like brothers or just adopted brothers or what yet) and he’s in love with chuuya it runs in the family

- he’s in a band

- it’s called snow beneath the moonlight - it’s him, naomi, and junichiro

- maybe they’ll add lucy and/or kyouka but idk

- atsushi’s the main singer - juni’s on drums - naomi’s on guitar - but they switch around for the funsies

- im gonna create a separate section for them actually and keep the focus on atsushi for now

- the first album he released came after weeks and weeks of people spotting him going to the studio in bright fun clothes - and he posted a lot of fun things

- it was started in highschool by juni going to atsushi and being like ‘wanna start a band’ and atsushi, who was sleeping a little cardboard box in the spot where the sun was, was like “hmmm? um sure zzzzzzzzz” if that makes sense 

- naomi found out about it and joined before atsushi and juni could ask her

- so typically it’s atsushi on vocals, naomi on guitar, juni on drums, but they can be pretty versatile like atsushi’s usually got a guitar on him sorry i cant think of the words rn and juni can play the piano and naomi can do all of that

- naomi and juni sing too if they want - theyre not strict about roles 

- they wrote their music together in highschool 

- they still do - but now when their stuck they dont cry they ask others for help :)

- very sweet and fun vibes

- they literally just do whatever they want - if there is a style or genre they want to try they probably will

- naomi has to do a lot of the talking becuz juni gets uncomfy and atsushi’s attention span causes him to leave ppl mid conversations becuz he saw a cool leaf

summary: somewhere out there is a dragon that thinks you stole its treasure. who better to help you return it than a pirate captain with an addiction to adrenaline?

a/n: this is the 1st chap of a series i came up with while watching a youtube vid on pirates of the carribean and i remembered how much those movies slapped and thought "what if i slapped genshin on this and made it even better" so here's the beginning to a pirate au you didn't ask for but I'm delivering anyways. super exited to see where this goes, i have some ideas for how its gonna work out already!! maybe smut later on but i haven't decided ;);) didn't proofread this so good luck lolololol

They came at the crack ass of dawn.

As you slept (read: tried not to throw up and embarrass yourself) on the damp floor underneath a stranger who was practically sweating through his hammock, the scout above deck screamed his warning:

Pirates. 

The crew around you burst into action as if none of them had been snoring loud enough to rival a warhorn just seconds before. A menacing alarm bell pierced the frenzy of orders that suffocated everyone below deck. What remnants of drowsiness you had were officially gone. 

Pirates. You hadn’t even been on sea for a full 24 hours and you were already being raided by pirates. They couldn’t have at least waited to board and slaughter you all until you’d had some breakfast?

The men and women of the Alcor scrambled about. Your hand flew to your trouser pocket— it was still there. With your conscience slightly eased, you grabbed the shoulder of a young girl as she rushed past you. She turned, clearly a bit irritated at your interruption; you were only a passenger, of course. You weren’t one of them. “Can you—” she began.

“What do you need me to do?” Your voice shook while you said it. You weren’t even sure if she could hear you over all the noise. But you knew if you sat still long enough, the panic would take over and devour you whole.

Her gaze softened a bit. “Follow me.”

It was in the middle of lugging a cannonball under the young girl’s instruction that you were caught.

A large hand grabbed a fistful of the back of your shirt, forcing you to drop your load. It slammed into the wood boards below you, narrowly missing your toes, and forming a little crater in the floor. 

You tried to wiggle out of the stranger’s grip. “Hey! Get the fuck—” 

A slap, and suddenly your head was turned to the side, your cheek tingling. Your jaw hung open in shock. “Stop squirming,” your captor grumbled. He was a large, heavy-set man, his face almost completely obscured by a mask and hat. 

To your left, the young girl hung over the shoulder of another pirate, dressed and built similarly to the one that handled you like a mother cat to her kitten.

The both of you were carried to the top deck and plopped unceremoniously in line with the rest of the crew. On the horizon, the sun peeked above just enough so that its rays shone directly into your eyes.

You squinted and hung your head down to let your eyes adjust. A few of the pirates muttered amongst each other while the rest carried crate after crate of food and valuables from the ship's hull. Their heavy footsteps creaked on the deck. It only made the silence of the sea that much more deafening. 

You took a deep breath. Focused on a hole in the wooden plank below you. Though you weren’t a sailor by any means, the gentle swaying of the ship managed to calm your nerves a bit.

As your eyes adjusted, your eyes settled on the wood-carved narwhal heading the massive vessel. It formed a majestic arch, its horn pointing proudly at a perfect 45-degree angle. 

Your heart sank. The relic in your pocket suddenly felt infinitely heavier. Of course, the first pirates you ever encounter are the crew of the Childe of Abyss.

“Fantastic! Is that everyone?”

The cheery voice ripped you from your thoughts. You glanced to your left. The crow’s nest scout, Kazuha, kneeled next to you; a few people down from him, the Alcor’s captain, Beidou. She glared up at the man who stood in front of her.

At first glance he was short. He was a short man with obnoxiously orange hair that you quickly realized was natural and not dyed. But then you took in the way he leaned over Beidou, towered almost, and it dawned on you that this man was not short, the rest of the crew was just freakishly tall. 

And when Beidou aimed her angry, “Fuck you,” at the lanky ginger, it clicked that this was his crew. 

He let out a laugh that almost sounded genuine. “You’re not my type but I appreciate the compliment! Now,” he scanned over you all and placed his hands on his hips, “empty your pockets.”

“What, are the three chests of gold you dragged up not enough for you?” Beidou snarked. 

No one moved. A pirate sporting a hood and mask that covered the bottom of his face had his dagger at her throat in an instant.

The ginger chuckled and placed a hand on the man’s arm that held the dagger. Slowly, the dagger was put away. “A bit antsy today, aren’t we?” He cocked his head. “Normally I’d love to fight this out with you, comrade, but unfortunately, I didn’t sleep too well last night. Why don’t you take a look around you instead?” 

Beidou held her glare, then glanced around at her crew. When she looked at you, a twinge of remorse appeared. 

The ginger bent down to catch her eyes. “You’re a good captain. I can tell you care for your crew. You want what’s best for them.” He straightened up and crossed his arms over his chest. “I want what’s best for mine. And I’m nothing if not thorough.”

The captain of the Abyss didn’t reiterate his command, but it went unsaid. Beidou gave a short nod, almost imperceptible if you weren’t looking for it, but it was all her crew needed.

Everyone shoved their hands in their pockets, dredging up the last of their wares for the awaiting hands in front of them. Lockets, trinkets, crumpled pieces of paper— Kazuha even produced a pendant and a blunt.

You, however, were frozen. You only had one thing in your pocket, and it was something you could most certainly not give up. 

The pirate in front of you brandished his gun at your forehead. You tensed, but kept your gaze forward. 

“Pockets,” he repeated. 

“I don’t have anything. I’m a civilian.” It was only half a lie.

He cocked the gun’s hammer.

“Ah, a stubborn one so early in the morning?” 

Your eyes flicked up to see the captain resting an elbow on his subordinate’s shoulder. It was a little too high up for it to look natural. Despite the gun to your head, you couldn’t help but let out a quiet laugh. 

The captain cocked an eyebrow. “Somethin’ funny?”

You averted your gaze and shook your head, smile fading.

He crouched down to your level. This close— without the sun as a backlight— you could see him better. An expensive-looking red earring dangling from his left ear. Freckles blooming across his face from hours spent in the sun. Eyes like the ocean; deep, dark, and holding secrets you probably didn’t want to know the answers to. 

He held out a gloved hand. 

You held his stare. You kept your hands where they were. 

He frowned, no, pouted as your defiance, then stood up. “Kill her.”

“Wait!” you blurted out. “I—” You looked to everyone surrounding you, enemy and ally, then back to the captain. He held a hand up to the man holding the gun, looking at you expectantly. 

“Can I speak with you? In private?” you asked. 

The captain sighed and looked at you. And looked. And— “Okay.”

He strutted off to the captain’s quarters without another word. 

You blinked and shot a glance at the man still holding a gun to your head. He shook his head in a way you’d only ever seen tired dads do around their rambunctious toddlers, but holstered his gun. You took that as your cue and dashed after the man who held your life in his hands. 

When you opened the door to Beidou’s quarters, the captain was waiting for you, leaning against the desk that centered the room.

The door automatically closed behind you with the motion of the ship, making you jump.

The captain watched you curiously, but the way his fingers drummed against the rim of the desk told you his patience wouldn’t last forever. 

You steeled your nerves and reached into your pocket, hesitating.

The captain huffed out a laugh. “Jeez, you really know how to up the suspense, don’t you?”

You glared at him. “I’m nervous because I know you’re probably going to think I’m crazy when I tell you what I need to. And my life quite literally depends on whether you do or not.”

He held up his hands in mock surrender, but his amused smile didn’t fade.

You pulled the relic from your pocket and showed it to him.

Amusement dropped into a blank stare, directed at the small, golden pillar in your hand. “What the fuck is that?”

You ignored him. You expected this. “Have you ever heard of the Seven Gnoses of Teyvat?” you prompted.

He snorted. “You think I've managed to live my entire life as a pirate and not know what a gnosis is?”

You rolled your eyes. “It’s a yes or no question.”

“Fine. Yes,” he amended.

“This is the Geo gnosis.”

The captain stared at you in what could only be described as bewilderment. Then a laugh bubbled out of him. His shoulders shook as he dragged a hand down his face. When his laughter subsided, he spoke. “What’s your name?”

Your eyebrows furrowed. Did this mean he was going to let you live? “(Y/N),” you replied.

“(Y/N), sweetheart, I hate to be the one to tell you, but that is a chess piece,” he concluded.

Before you could launch a tirade, he cut you short. 

“A very fancy chess piece, I will say! But, still a chess piece. You’ve been duped.” Pity was written all over his face.

You collected yourself. The last thing you needed was to piss him off while trying to convince him to keep you alive. You clutched the gnosis with an iron grip. “Don't patronize me. Whether you believe me or not, the point is, I’m not supposed to have this. And there is someone— some— the owner of this chess piece,” you spat out, “is looking for it. I’m trying to return it before they find me.”

The captain reached up to scratch behind his ear, making the red stone in the earring flicker in the dim light of the cabin. “And what does this have to do with me not killing you?”

“The owner of this… relic is very, very rich.” Not technically a lie. An estimation based on what you had read about dragons. “Personally, I just want to drop this thing off and be rid of it. Which means, if you take me where I need to go, whatever treasure we find is yours for the taking.” A lie. You had spent all you had on passage aboard the Alcor, which was now in the hands of one of the worst pirate crews in Teyvat. You would be taking at least one thing for yourself. 

The captain takes a moment to assess you. Then, “Okay.”

Again? “... Okay?”

He huffed a laugh. “What kind of pirate would I be to turn down the promise of a haul like that? This is the most interesting conversation I’ve had in months. And of course—” The captain waved a hand about flippantly— “If you’re lying, I can just kill you later.” A smile.

You gulped. Though you knew you weren’t lying, something told you this voyage wouldn’t go anywhere near as simple as he was making it out to be.

“Somethin’ wrong, sweets?” And all of a sudden he was very close to you now. 

Your eye twitched at the nickname, but you avoided his eyes, afraid they might somehow see your thoughts, and answered. “No. Sorry. Thank you… um…”

A hand reaches into your line of sight, prompting you to look up. A grin stretched across his face, revealing faint crow’s feet at the corner of his eyes. “Tartaglia,” he winked. “Welcome aboard.”

Vaggie is an Angel thats very slowly seeing the corrupt side of Heaven, and meets Charlie by almost killing her. But obvi doesn't.

ALSO i think I'm gonna rename Vaggie, Cupid bc SUPPOSEDLY it is a mixed mytho anyway and i know Cupid isn't an angel ? But i figured Eros could be the real deal and Cupid is just Vaggie's nickname MAYBE or smth.

Bc i kind of think it would be interesting if Cupid was a fallen Angel .

The spear was her Angel weapon n then the bow n arrow is her later weapon

Ough i forgot to say i just got wrapped up in the sudden Vaggie/Cupid idea but UM

AD is gonna be an Ex overlord bc i said so. Instead of a pornstar.

Cherri isn't there often bc she still likes the chaos. I like to imagine she used to work for Velvette but then escaped later on bc she wants to do shit her own way.

She loves art, esp like spray paints. Her bombs even have paint inside of them so theres a splatter everywhere she goes.

I think Cherri would also be friends with Sir Pentious in the end tbh. Haters to Besties.

midnight in gravesfield is basically just my excuse to mix together special interests LOL. ive been into werewolves for most of my life ! anytime i have a favorite character im gonna turn them into a werewolf its the rules

i also just love especially stories about tragic werewolves, being something “other” and hiding it, unable to accept what you are but being unable to change it etc . idk why but its just so interesting to me. i think thats part of why i love hunter so much too — he’s different from everyone else and hes hiding it from them, and hes eventually gonna have to come to terms with and accept what he is , that he can’t change it, and that it’s gonna be okay. its so good

so all that being said i think werewolf!hunter just really works lol

for this AU, i have the basic description written on my AUs doc but as with all my stuff its super subject to change! like, i might not have him get bitten at all, it might be at a different point in time, etc etc. i think the most basic things that are staying are “he gets werewolf’d sometime during the second half of season 2 and struggles in the human realm”. that’s the most bare bones structure of the story

ive done a lot of worldbuilding with lycanthropy both for toh and just in general, i might? post about it at some point? but it’s long and IM GETTING OFF TRACK😭

so!!!! okay!!!! here’s how the au goes right now. hunter gets bitten/cursed/Something, but the demon realm moon DOESNT effect him. it would if he had magic, but he doesn’t

he can tell something is off and he is more sick and in pain than he usually is, he’s more disoriented and acting “off”. it’s like a fever almost? he’s more likely to completely isolate himself during his “on the run” phase. just completely freaked out and not thinking clearly

but it’s not until he gets to the human realm that things start really happening to him. turns out, when you’re cloned from a human and end up with lycanthropy, the full moon in the human realm is gonna be the one to mess you up

it would intertwine a lot with him being a grimwalker as well. i think luz would figure out what happened before they end up in the human realm, but she’s not sure how she can even help right away. gus also knows about the grimwalker thing, but not the lycanthropy

the story itself would kind of like .. i take inspiration from my favorite werewolf media, i think it’s just like that in a toh context tbh. i know that isn’t very specific but hey its a work in progress :P i have a lot of ideas jotted down but not in a story-order yet

so, for context, im a regulus black kinnie (itll make sense, give me a sec aha). ive got a difficult relationship with most of my family, but most especially my mother and older sister. my sister is a lot like our family's sirius (except if he still had walburga's narcissism, cruelty and manipulation), and she really doesnt get along with either of our parents. my mother is... a difficult woman, in that she likes to victimise herself in every situation, shes homophobic/transphobic/all the phobics, shes also very narcissistic, and likes to make uncomfortable comments without bothering to be nice about it. all in all, i try not to be around her much. im also supposed to be moving out soon, and planned to minimise contact as much as possible once i do.

to the point: my mother was diagnosed with cancer yesterday. my father (hes kind of a neutral party in the family dynamics, btw) was the one talking to me about it, since she's in hospital at the moment. he said they caught it early enough where a bit of chemo over the next few months should get rid of it and she'll be okay, but 'cancer' is a scary as fuck word. he also then told me that this isnt her first time with it — she had a different type of cancer around 20 years ago.

honestly, i feel like my brain is battling itself about how i should feel. on the one hand, ive been looking forward to not having to be around her now for years, and i hold very little love for her at this point. why should i care? she'll be fine at the end of it anyway. but shes still my mum, yknow? and i feel awful having these thoughts about how badly ive always thought of her and how much ive wanted for so long to get away from her and how it almost feels like this is some sort of sick fucking joke from the universe about how i should be careful what i wish for or something.

this whole situation keeps making me think about regulus in best friends brother(? i think thats the right fic) or p much any modern au where walburga dies so tbh ill probably end up writing a fic about it to cope, but still i just... i guess i needed to tell someone? my father asked me to keep it to myself for now so that it wasnt spread around where we live (its a small area; everyone knows everyone).

and the bit with my sister - as i said, she doesnt get along with our parents. i dont talk to her much anymore either because she seemed to inherit a lot of our mothers worst traits, but im afraid that if we do talk about this then she'll have some awful thing to say about it. she makes some really dark 'jokes' sometimes about suicide and death and such, and im nervous that she'll say something about how she hopes it kills her (again, my sister fucking sick, and has zero empathy), because shes made similar jokes about other stuff in the past. i also dont think she'd understand that im still afraid for our mother even after everything shes done, and i hate the way my sister turns on me and rips the piss out of me when she doesnt like what i do.

it all kind of circles back to how im supposed to feel, i guess. part of me wants to not care and brush it off, whatever, but theres still part of me dying for my mothers love and approval and is terrified of losing her, even with the low possibility.

Here's a continuation of the Hakuri/Chihiro College AU bc i passed all my classes this semester :3

After moving in, Hakuri struggles to adjust to Chihiro's living space. Its not like Chihiro is broke right now, with having inherited his dad's finances and other possessions, but its a stark contrast between his own upbringing and Chihiro's that gives him whiplash.

Chihiro is extremely patient. Its almost to the point where he's never really seen that guy pissed off before. Well, thats a lie, he did see Chihiro threaten Soya's life on the phone after basically saving Hakuri's life, but that wasnt even a physical altercation. Its was basically thirty minutes of Chihiro explaining in great detail (down to the goddamn law) how he would make sure Soya not only loses his hands but also ends up in prison. Soya hasnt called back since.

Maybe it was for the best, though.

What really makes Hakuri struggle to adjust, though, is Chihiro's borderline insane ability to somehow be a mind reader. He somehow knows every time Hakuri has had a nightmare, if Hakuri is on the verge of a panic attack, if Hakuri needs space and even when he's having trouble managing his pain despite the years of practicing his poker face.

Its...scary. Its also really, really nice.

The first month is Hakuri and Chihiro dancing around each other as they try to remember they share a space now. A few times, Hakuri screams when the other accidentally enters his room (it used to be a guest room after the previous roommate moved out to start her new business, a cafe, which is apparently only a block away), and Chihiro gets surprised when Hakuri enters the kitchen. Sometimes they would awkwardly sit next to each other while watching tv until they go to sleep, and other times they accidentally talk throughout the night until the fall asleep on top of each other on the couch at three in the morning.

Im too lazy to write more bc im cleaning rn but like..yeah. Hinao would meet Hakuri and immediantly give Chihiro the look and it all goes downhill from there with how much she texts him cringy date ideas she found on tiktok. Shiba comes over unannounced and scares the hell outta Hakuri but after the initial awkwardness Shiba immediately likes the kid. And says such to Chihiro, something like "Thank god youre not gonna die alone, kid."

The weirdest relationship is Hakuri and Hiyuki's mutual respect for each other since Chihiro and her are kinda rivals. They dont hate each other but they definitely argue a lot whenever they end up in the same classes.

Tbh if I were to write this i would only have hakuri's family pop up as a major plot point once, since i dont like repetitive scenes with the same antagonists. Soya already tried once and got his ass beat so he wouldnt again, but Kyora would probably try to contact hakuri and it'd be more of a subplot kinda ordeal. Chihiro's main conflict would likely revolve around his canon story, but instead of fighting the man reaponsible for his father's death he would personally keep tabs on anything he finds so once he's legally able to pursue them he's have all the material he needs.

Again, i dont want to make this AU too dramatic. Its a modern College AU so like...I wanna keep it semi realistic while it being dramatic and entertaining, yaknow?

🌌 Sci-fi AU?

// Sci-fi isn't my favorite setting, and I don't really have much media to get ideas from that I actively watched. My knowledge of sci-fi comes mostly from big movies/series like Star Wars and Star Trek so it's gonna be a mix between the two of them I suppose ^^ Also I write these more like something like a prompt bc thats cool and gives some insight I guess? So please bear with my limited knowledge :')

Her ship is small. Nothing for a big crew. One, or at best two, people could live on it. Not a big crew. And that's how Lilli prefered it anyway. A small ship is more easily to miss, in battle as well as when escaping. And she was good enough of a pilot for it. Still, she had paid good money to have a device built in that made her small ship almost invisible. That's when she gave it it's name. 'Schatten'. Not creative, because it just meant 'Shadow' in her native language, but she found it fitting enough.

The woman set the course to the next space-station, before switching on the auto-pilot. The path she had choosen should not have any dangers on it, so it should be fine to take her eyes away for a moment. She still had to look for a job after all. While she did had some credits left, she still needed money to get fuel and supplies. Her next travel is gonna be a long one after all.

So the woman grabs her tablet, and opens up a site to check any kind of available job on the station she was heading to. She wasn't exactly picky when it came to how to earn money. At this point Lilli did any job from being a bounty hunter, to a bodyguard, smuggler, killer or even spy. And wasn't she made for some of these tasks? After a while she decides for a simple job on which she has to spy on some dude. Eh, should be fine.

Though her journey to the station will take a while still, so she had quite some time to kill. So, she switched away from the job site, after applying to the spy-task of course, and to the news from all over the galaxy. There were some articles about some big space-fight between offical goverment ships, and space pirates. Some smugglers who got caught. A new alien species has joined some union... Nothing what really interested her. But one article caught her attention. 'Another black hole has appeared! Is this the end of the universe?' Said the headline of said article. Quite the clickbait, given that, while there had been several black holes appeared recently, they had been rather small, and were able to be contained. They were right about it being strange though. Especially because they had appeared quite close to populated places. Stations, planets.

Lilli's eyes narrow as she reads the article. People only thought it was a strange natural incidence... She knows it isn't though. She has seen this before. The woman knows exactly who's doing it was. He was still on it. Trying to find a way to manipulate dark matter. And while she was sure he still hadn't found a save way to do so, he had made progress... It means she has to find him quickly, and finally end this. But he was hiding well...

She closes the pad then, and places it to the site, before staring at nothing for some time. Then she slowly raises her hand, with the palm facing up... Almost immediately a tiny version of a black hole floated just a few centimeters abover her palm. Lilli stares at it for a moment, before closing her fist around it, and suffocating it again.

He wanted to use dark matter to make the perfect weapon... Seems like he really thought that she was dead.

A sigh left her then, and the pilot went back to flying the ship after turning off the auto-pilot. She needs to get her mind off things for a big apparently...

Man idk if this is good. Her personality is a mix between main verse and vigilante AU tbh
