The year was 2025, and Mick was driving for Mercedes. He was so fucking happy. Thank God Lewis made the move to Mercedes.

Mercedes won a few races in 2024, but not many. Max still came out as world champion. That surprised nobody, though. But it gave Mercedes a good indicator of what to work on for 2025.

It was Micks first pole position of his Formula One career. He made it count. He led the Grand Prix for several laps before being overtaken when he pitted. But then he got the lead of the race back and held it to the end. He'd won. He'd converted the first pole of his career to his first win.

He couldn't help but think of his father as he stood on the podium.

After the podium, he couldn't help but think if his girl. She was so fucking proud of him, and she showed him. She showed him just how proud she was.

Taking his hand he led her back to his drivers room. It wasn't often he was disturbed in there; he could fuck her as hard as she wanted it (which was pretty goddamn hard).

As soon as he got her into his drivers room, Micks lips were on hers. He had her pressed against the wall as they pulled each others clothes off.

In no time at all, Mick had her on the sofa, screaming his name at the top of her lungs. Her body rocked with his thrusts, the sheer strength of it managing to move the sofa. It hit the temporary wall of the drivers room, shaking the entire things.

since level-5’s localization branch closed down a couple of years ago, im honestly wondering how this will affect the english release of nwos

dont get me wrong im not at all concerned for its existence—its going to exist most definitely. not only is nwos included in christopher robin miller’s business website (he lists 8 games hes worked on, when his voice only appears in seven), but nobody is more aware of layton’s incredible popularity in the west than level-5 themselves. professor layton was inspired by the west, after all. it would be franchise suicide to not localize it and that’s the last thing l5 is trying to do after making a reboot so crappy that it nearly bankrupted the franchise

but since there’s no localization branch anymore, it’s likely level-5 is for the first time ever outsourcing their projects’ localization, and that’s what kinda concerns me. the reason a lot of anime and games have shitty dubs is bc they get outscored to companies that can’t be fuckin asked (funimation is a good example)

localization divisions of game companies specifically can be shit too (treehouse is a good example) but level-5’s branch always made a genuine effort to produce good dubs. thats why all of their voice actors fit the setting; they're all bri'ish, and most of if not all of them did genuinely good jobs (im not tolerating slander against lani she did her best. i blame whoever casted her she was not designed to be voicing a 11 yr old cockney child)

and that's why it worries me to see nwos be outsourced - we have no way of knowing how the dub quality will change. obviously christopher robin miller is not going to stop voicing layton, we're not going to get any kind of chris pratt mario shit bc hino is not a backstabber

but what DOES worry me is the possibility of nwos getting outsourced to one one of those companies that dont give a shit. i should note that the the likelihood of this isnt very big just given how aware level-5 is of layton's prevalence in the west. layton is not like most anime/anime games, its not going to have its dub be unceremoniously flung to some low-effort team to hire the same non-union white man you recognize in every fire emblem game

but still, just because its unlikely doesnt mean its completely impossible. in the second l5 vision hino mentioned that inazuma eleven's next game is getting internationally released, which means the same is almost certainly happening to nwos (the fact this is happening is actually kind of huge - every other layton game before this has had to wait up to a year after the game releases in JP for the localization)

as much as it pains me to give any non-hershel level 5 game anything but my cold and dismissive scorn, i will be checking out inazuma eleven victory road's english version when the game releases in 2024 (its not guarenteed that victory road and nwos will be outsourced to the same people btw, but that kind of thing is common)

and unless victory road's localization ends up sucking some seriously crinkly ass, i dont think we have anything to worry about

im curious about the fandom video essay one bc for me, ive always viewed it as: aa gets ports. like a lot of them. as such, aa is way more accessible to play compared to layton, where youre either stuck with watching an old playthrough of the games, or trying to 1) get a 3ds if you dont have one, and 2) buying the games (which can sometimes be very expensive). plus, people probably vibe with the mystery solving aspect of one or the other differently. i’ve honestly been begging for pl ports for years, and not just for switch. but i think layton is definitely something thats like. a series that ppl look fondly back on. which is why you see so many people be excited when new world of steam was first announced.

anyway sorry for putting all this in your inbox it’s just been my biggest complaint for yrs that layton has not been ported over yet and the one game thats on switch kinda did poorly. i would love for the fandom to grow

I completely agree with your point , Ive already heard people say the 3ds is a “dead console” (and yeah it is i just cant accept it ) ((LMAO)) ,, making it inaccessible to SO many people ,, when they could have found out about it . Like , layton still has the potential to bring in new fans , Im an example of that ,, lost future captured my heart and bought every game like a week later ; The games themselves are masterpeices , and more people deserve to know about them.

Reiterating what you said ; Theyre only playable on decaying consoles , and the gaming industry is changing , level 5 should adapt to this and not stay stuck in the past !! If people stumble across layton and decide to look into it ,, it would be better for it just to be at least on steam r smth ,, so they can acc play it cause playthroughs are awful . Like can you imagine curious village with polished sprites ??? dude that would be so good .

And yeah !! lets hope NWOS revives layton ,, from what is seems it looks really polished but they were 3 games late to what AA did well ,, give a new protagonist focus . NWOS (from what ive seen) will center more around luke ,, which is what the prequel trilogy should have done . (AA made their second trilogy center around apollo, )

it looks GREAT i REALLY LIKE IT

i really adore the artstyle they've used for the 3d models, they aren't as jarring as the old ones (which i didnt like at first but they grew on me) and still look real nice and stylized - a little nit picky but sometimes the mouths look? odd?? but like eh whatever. the noses too sometimes but again. eh whatever.

i will say though. i like the artstyle but. laytons new model. im kinda. iffy on it. at least right now it's prolly gonna be the old 3d models situation again where i gotta adjust then i can appreciate them in their own way but as of the moment. im kinda. hmmmm. i'll need to see them more in action too of course but right now he just feels. off. at times it looks fine and then others it looks odd. there's the outfit change, sure, which i wasnt the greatest fan of but i hardly hate it - i just prefer his big ol thick coat and sweater. that's fine, that isnt the problem, but he just. his whole shape language just feels! off! that man is a cylinder!! rounded squares!! reassuring and reliable!! in this he kinda looks like a triangle! maybe it's just the one idle pose cus we didnt see much STILL. part of what i liked about him is that this man is a TUBE. he is the cardboard tube that cain killed his brother with. now though he's looking less tube and more rolled up carpet with a rubber band on. but then again who knows these are just my initial gut reactions! maybe layton just decided he wanted to go to the club in which case slay king go for it also his head just looks like a touch too big but maybe that's also just my brain imagining things

the 3d cutscenes looked really nice which im pleasantly surprised by BUT i really hope they wont be used to like. replace 2d cutscenes. i dont imagine they will since they're a staple of the series but still.

kinda hope it stays like what we saw in the trailer where it's just layton's musings and lukes thoughts on things, maybe interspersed a bit throughout the gameplay where they need to be like 'look he picked up a thing here's a quick shot of it!' just yknow complimentary stuff and little moments. then again though i'd love for them to prove me wrong i just still have miracle mask cutscene ptsd

either way i like them so far and i hope this might mean we get a few more cutscenes where we can just see layton and luke interacting with stuff more. and also give us more swordfighting because i mean. layton swordfighting. it's the first time we've seen him in ages i'd be there trying to shove as many layton swordfights in as possible, finally give him a sword to just have on him at all times so that every single cutscene there's always the potential he'll just whip it out

the 2d art we have seen FANTASTIC i LOVE IT it's GREAT and the environments (or environment we've only seen like one) is DELIGHTFUL im so glad to see that good ol layton architecture im so excited to see more, ive always adored how environments and backgrounds are stylized also LITTLE LUKE AND LITTLE LAYTON SURVEYING THE SCENE!! THEY ARE JUST. IN THE CORNER. THEY ARE LOOKING!! it's a really small detail but it's GREAT i really hope it wont be just the one area

i also really like the hud we've seen so far, it looks clean without being obstructive or distracting - was a bit worried how they'd make it work on switch but so far it looks good still a bit worried about the memo just cus i know i will be playing mostly docked and memo functions with joysticks are. eck. but like hey im the one thats gonna opt out of using a stylus so that's on me, hopefully we can just stamp some stuff like circles and numbers maybe and that'll be enough

lastly though THE MUSIC!!! YEAHHH LAYTON MUSIC!!! layton music is always good this is no exception, absolutely looking forward to eventually having this new puzzle music ingrained in my mind after staring at a puzzle for 4 hours really been liking what we've been hearing so far it's got the good ol Layton Rhythm and the signature accordion but with a new twist i like, more brass instruments it sounds like man i cannot WAIT to hear what the title theme will sound like they always manage to pop off with the main theme
