i think these comments from misha at purcon 7 are a good reminder how difficult it probably was for the writers to create the dean and cas storyline over the years and how that caution and general environment probably affected other actors and crew members' perception of destiel

Tracking Jensen's micro-expressions in this scene reflecting Dean's thoughts as he tries to justify killing himself to Castiel makes me wanna dunk my head into my koi pond. Dean is like "😌🙂" but Castiel is all "no you're wrong 😤🫵" and then "so this goodbye? 🥺💔 " and then Dean goes from "😠😤🫵‼️" to "😰😟🥺😔" in a span of two seconds. I'm sorry that this whole angry cat thing is just not working for you anymore, Dean. You've been domesticated.

Rewatching season 12 is so fun. They keep talking about the spawn of satan and I cant help but smile because he's just a little guy! He's just a little cutey! He likes star wars and has a teddy bear and kills their mom!

This rewatch is really making me see that there never was a time when Dean was a ‘flirt’ or a ‘womaniser’. This man isn’t flirting with the people he meets on cases, he’s just making genuine human connections with them really really fast, and that often makes people fall in love with him because it’s so disarming to have that much intense kind attention trained on you. When he tries to flirt he actually tends to strike out because he doesn’t have a clear handle on how to do what he does on purpose.

not to be like this but I think it is very much realistic to think that Dean and Cas would stay together forever if there were no outside forces fucking with them and throwing them in situations where they have to make impossible choices. Yes, they would bicker and fight but will always return to each other. I genuinely do not understand how anyone can think they would break up after everything they went thru. And honestly I think thinking that is unfair to both of them. Give them the permission to grow out of their ways and get better, because I genuinely believe they love each other enough to do it.
