the worst kind of dragon is one where the colors never work all at the same time. prim & tert can match with the right genes, but not the sec. other genes make the prim & sec match, but now the tert looks out of place. id actually kill for a single color scatterscroll but a lot of players are against the idea :/

2 dialtown thoughts before i nap

gingis character development is so interesting. they kinda need to experience every route to rlly hammer it in i think but its fascinating that when doing the speed dating theyre put off by everyone only doing it to gain smth, showing that despite their urgency to get into the fair & lay eggs they do actually yearn for smth More. they even say it outright in olivers route, they had a mutual agreement that benefitted them both & yet feelings changed & theyve grown attached. its like subconsciously they craved companionship even if they couldnt recognize that bc they were so convinced they were content all on their own

the choice to give norm a sticky note face is also very interesting to me, bc dog couldve just left it at a plain paper bag. the choice to have gingi hallucinate different expressions is also interesting, bc none of the other characters rlly have readable expressions given their object heads. karen can emote the most with her paper tray & such, but norm gets proper expressions in the form of drawn faces. its a rlly interesting way to highlight the separation between him & everyone else, a reminder that he does in fact Have a Face in a way no one else does

does anyone else think dialtown characters have access to whole new sexualities based on head types? you can rlly mix & match i think. head type attraction doesnt have a solid equivalent in our world bc while phones & typewriters are typically assigned based on ones birth sex, there are so many other objects someones head can be that dont correlate at all to their gender! & having a head that isnt a phone or typewriter isnt automatically considered being nonbinary!!

while someones head can be indicative of their gender, it rlly isnt 1:1 which makes sexualities based on head types that much more interesting. for some, they may care more abt gender than heads, & vice versa for others. some may not care abt either & some might care abt both. i imagine thered be many various terms & labels ppl could use based on exactly what theyre attracted to/what matters more to them. i think its neat how you ask karen & oliver out in-person, where what head you have matters, while randy gets asked out over the phone bc your head wouldnt influence his answer. he mentions making a makeshift girlfriend but randy never specifies a head type when talking abt potential partners iirc

even if the distinction was only made for gameplay reasons, so the characters could have specific sexualities without alienating players by making them use pronouns they dont want to, its infinitely more fun & whimsical to think of it as a new type of sexuality that could only exist in dialtowns world!!! you can be gay in all new ways!!! gay bc youre a phone who likes phones, gay bc youre a girl who likes typewriters, gay bc you dont even care as long as theyre nice to you & so much more!!! peace & love in dialtown!!!!

we cant have old fest items in joxboxes bc itll "ruin the economy" even tho the pool of items obtainable from them is constantly increasing so the odds of actually getting one arent that high to begin with, but staff can generate 5 light sprites for roundsey & thats Fine bc you only have to sink hundreds of thousands to millions of treasure for a chance to get one, & you could either end up with smth you dont want or absolutely nothing :/

to be clear im not Mad abt light sprites in roundsey i think thats awesome!! its a way for players to have a shot at getting one without saving up unfathomable amounts of money! but you still have to spend A Lot to have even a half-decent chance to get one & you could just be wasting your money since you arent guaranteed to get Anything. its technically more affordable, & ik roundsey is Supposed to be a treasure sink, i just think its dumb that some ppl are so against unretiring old items bc of The Economy but gambling thru roundsey is fine & gambling thru joxboxes Isnt bc joxboxes are more accessible

& edit in case this is Perceived: no, you dont Have to spend a bunch of money on roundsey, its entirely possible to win with just a few tickets. plenty of ppl only put in a few & theyve probably won at least smth before. but the more ppl want smth, like a light sprite, the more tickets they put in bc they want better odds. technically you can win a light sprite for as little as 500 treasure, youd just have to be incredibly lucky to do so
