Also I think a huge part of what makes Worms superpowers feel better is that the people with superpowers actually act like people. They experiment! They test out what they can and can’t do, and think of ways to use their powers effectively. In a lot of superhero media the characters act like they just got their powers 5 minutes ago and barely think about how to use them as opposed to using their power like something thats been an extension of their body for years , because the writers only spent 5 minutes thinking about how they would use them. Like in this scene from the boys. I have a specific grudge here, because I think it exemplifies a lot of the issues with superhero media. Starlight has the power to create powerful burning beams of light, but still opts for kicking and punching which does essentially nothing compared to using her power. Anyone with this ability for a day or more would at least realise that they could blind someone fairly easily, but she doesn’t. Stormfront has the ability to hit people with bolts of lightning, that act nothing like lightning actually does. Fights often dissolve into meaningless cgi slogs due to things like this. It could be far more interesting if her bolts would burn and electrocute people like they should, but instead her lightning affects people the same as hitting people with lasers which affects people the same as throwing them telekinetically which realistically ends up affecting people the same as if punching them in the face. Their powers become boring, useless and homogenised making their fights meaningless.
In contrast, Worm takes time to make to make each power unique and to make each person use it in a way that makes it feel like they’ve actually learned how to use it. No character just has something like the ability to teleport, because that necessitates a whole bunch of questions that completely change how this character behaves in a fight. If their teleportation cancels momentum, they can use it to survive falling from great heights, or to stop themselves getting knocked back by a punch and catch their opponent off guard. If it doesn’t cancel momentum, that opens potential for some devastating dropkicks: teleport up 50 feet, fall a bit, teleport 6 inches above the other guys shoulder. Most things don’t bother with these questions, meaning what a character can and can’t do is frustratingly arbitrary. In Worm, these questions are both answered and relevant.

You know, I find the difference between how the fandom treats Nidhiki and how the fandom treats Tuyet rather fascinating.
Because both of them are traitorous Toa Mangai who betrayed their team (and thus the ideal of Toa) for their own selfish gains. Both are characters who can be read either sympathetically or as completely selfish and vile characters. And lastly both are mean to represent the different ways a toa can fall to the dark side by having their vices and flaws win over their virtues.
Yet despite of those similarities, I have noticed people tend to be far more sympathetic to Nidhiki than Tuyet. People tend to give Nidhiki far more sympathetic towards his circumstances, minimize his flaws and outright wish he had been redeemed. While with Tuyet is at best seen as an interesting and somewhat complex villain, or at worst as a tyrannical lunatic.
It is easy to chalk this dichotomy up to Nidhiki being canonically more sympathetic than Tuyet, but I don't think that's necessarily the case. If we go by Greg's own commentary, his intention was other way around. For Greg Nidhiki was a selfish opportunist with few sympathetic traits, while Tuyet was someone who took her noble goals too far. Greg also has stated multiple times Tuyet is not evil, but rather insane (something that has it's own can of worms but thats neither here or there)
As such, we can easily think the dichotomy is either misogynistic doublestandards of sympathizing with a male villain while demonizing a female one in spite of the latter being less heinous, or yet another case of fans disagreeing with Greg. And while either of those conclusions are understandable, I think to simplify it would be rather dismissive and disingenous. As I do tink there are a few reasons why this is at play beyond misogynistic doublestandards or fans disagreeing with Greg for the fiftieth time.
Firstly, while Nidhiki was meant to be unsympathetic and selfish, his hints of a tragic backstory™ kinda muddy that interesting. If Nidhiki was meant to be a selfish powerhungry jerk, why then tell the audience he had to survive his whole life in one of the harshest conditions in Matoran Universe. Knowing Nidhiki's upbringing in TK Peninsula, it makes his actions far more understandable and sympathetic than if we knew where he came on. Tuyet meanwhile has no backstory or mindset that explains her motivations and goals, beyond her viewing Toa as too weak-willed to protect matoran. As such, it is easy to read her as a totalitarian despot who wants to control others, than anything more.
Secondly, Nidhiki is far more likable than Tuyet in their respective backstory oneshots. Tuyet in MDOTT is largely characterized as rather curt, nononsenical and somewhat manipuative, making her hard to sympathize for the audience. Contrast this to Nidhiki in MDOTT and BOADH, who while flawed is given more likable traits. Nidhiki is shown to be witty, clever and a bit of a snarker, which make him more endearing to the audience in spite of his impulsivity and selfishness being clearly present. Paired with BOADH being largely from his POV (and thus, allowing us to see his perspective, reasonings and mentality), it just makes Nidhiki a far easier character to root for than Tuyet, who is presented as an antagonist in her story.
Lastly, Nidhiki is just a character most fans have more connection to due his importance in the overarching story. Nidhiki was an already established antagonist in a main story arc, who'se backstory was mysteriously intriguing before being later expanded on. Tuyet meanwhile is a serial exclusive character first introduced as a plotdevice corpse, who was given a backstory to explain who she was while beinng alive and later used because she presented many interestig opportunities and potential. As such, people are more likely to be interested in the character present in the main story than the one who mainly exists in supplemential material.
But yeah that's just my own two cents on this as a Nidhiki fan who likes both characters. There's also the way how Tuyet does far worse things than Nidhiki and has far steadfast morality, but I feel I have talked about those earlier so I digress.

NEW HAVEN WARDS THOUGHTS. ok i have. many. primarily though i would love to hear what fucking. tide's pov of insane tidalwave situation is. or just like. nhw tide thoughts in general!!!! him!! he!!! ok ok gotta go put goats 2 bed brb
AHAAAA HAHA I LOVE YOUUUUUU TIDE LAMBERT. i love you tide lambert. i also am extremely delighted by the fact that you and whiskey both sent me asks at the same time indepenently asking me about tide and mark. awesome little bowl of seeds for me in my inbox. under the cut with you
i haaaaave so many emotions about nhw tide the more i think about him.
i am still so MASSIVELY undecided on the whole clone thing but i do feel so strongly about the endbringer thing i brought up one time. i dont remember the way they are in canon but i have a lot of thoughts about tide and his siblings and their "ages" (magma is the oldest, tide is VERY close second (theyre not twins, but theyre probably only a year or less apart so they are The Oldest as a unit to the others. magma still plays the "im older than you" card to tide though). whirlwind and seismic ARE twins and they have such middle child energy. shockwave is the youngest until elle and has a complex about not being the youngest anymore. elle is the beloved baby girl. trust me i have experience in this this is basically the way my dads side of the family is) . anyway im getting distracted. anyway. tide and magma being the oldest and also being given powers specifically to counter leviathan and behemoth. i have emotions about this !!!! (i actually still dont really know whether behemoth is specifically fire coded but he does sleep in volcanoes so let me dream until worm proves me wrong). so like. even if theyre not clones they still get the whole "i was created for a purpose and i feel like i have the weight of the world on my shoulders because of it and its my only purpose and without it im lost and i dont know what to do with myself"
anyway. thinking about. tidalwave first meeting or like. early stages of meeting or whatever. tide is fucking INTIMIDATING. hes REALLY powerful, and also including that thing i put in my one liveblog the other day about Sere- if tide Wasnt A Hero it could be a goddamn disaster because his powers have the potential to be so fucking scary and bad and dangerous. luckily he is also the worlds biggest softie. tide is marginally less emotionally repressed than mark is, so he's more willing to initiate things.
i constantly think about tide in the context of that one post thats like "i hate when people say it costs nothing to be kind. it costs so much. i mean i'll pay it but damn" (im so mad i cant find that rn but. nhw tide thesis statement) hes not naive!!!!!!!! he knows how awful and shitty the world and the whole cape system is. but hes trying so so so hard to do the right thing and help people. that fucking gets on marks nerves so bad. tide is Too Nice and he hates it. "why cant you be more of an asshole so its easier for me to hate you" etc etc etc.
ANYWAY. early tidalwave. tide looks at wavelength and immediately sees a difference between him and some of the other villains hes fought. theres this almost feral desperation to him. outwardly hes cold and calculating and brutal but like. just a little bit beneath the surface he is. like a cornered animal. he doesnt Want to be doing this, but he Has To. and tide can. really sympathize with that and understand that i think. Mark Also Hates This, He Does Not Like To Be Perceived. i imagine theres a lot of back and forth like "i understand" "how could you possibly understand"
they become sort of like unofficial rivals- tide knows how the hero system works and how fucking nasty things could end up for mark if he fights someone who doesnt care about what happens to a villain, so its always tide seeking him out (fight to maim, not kill. sorry that sentence lives in my mind forever now). tide maybe lets him slip away and escape way easier than he should. because he Gets It. he genuinely does want to help mark, not in an "i can fix him" way, but in more of an "i can see youre in a horrible situation and i dont want to kill you just because of that, so im helping in the small way i can without making things worse for you" way. mark knows hes doing this. they never talk about it. they talk more than people who are supposed to be intent on killing each other should talk. neither of them will ever say it out loud but. the human connection outside of their respective Situations is kind of nice. regardless of how fucked up the whole thing is. ill-advised hookups, unmasking, etc etc all of that. but They Dont Talk About It Ever. next day theyre back to trying to kill each other like nothing happened. tide maybe privately mourns this, but still never says anything about it. tide visits mark in the hospital because no one else will. tide tells mark about ashe because no one else will, even if he knows that will basically shatter everything between them (its not tides fault, why would it be, but mark is a very "shoot the messenger, ask questions later" kind of guy)
anyway. i think about them a lot
#lays on the fucking FLOOR. i need 2 go make dinner. hoo boy#asks#intertexts#friends!!!#new haven wards

Hi Nestlings!!
I was in a bit of a depressive slump last week, but I am feeling much better today! 🩷
As promised in a previous post, today I will go over which Hellaverse characters embody the “Gal is Mind” mindset. I explained it in the last post so please refer to that one when looking it up <3
₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊
I only dropped one point for each character before, but this time, I plan on going more in depth. (!!! This post contains spoilers for Hazbin Hotel Season 1 !!!)
From least to most “Gal” imo:
4th: Velvette
😈 Velvette is one of the most stylish baddies in hell and would more than likely be open to trying many gyaru substyles! (She already looks the part!)
😈 However, she’s missing a key factor of the gal mindset…she’s kinda a dick lmao (thats an understatement lol)
😈 She’s immature and loves to stir the pot with drama. (And last time i checked, that is the total opposite of how to be a good role model lmao)
₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊
3rd: Cherri Bomb
😈 I love Cherri’s design sm!!! Definitely giving Black Diamond vibes!!! The hair tops it off and reminds me of sujimori hair!! I plan on making an outfit inspired by her at some point! ❤️❤️
😈 as for her personality, she means well and is one of Angel’s best friends. What doesn’t make her very gal to me, is that she enables her friend and tempts him into drugs and other bad behaviors. Granted, partying is good in moderation (and a part of gyaru culture!) but over indulging and causing a ruckus in the process definitely ain’t it :’)
😈 on the other hand, she is very loyal to angel and sticks up to his abuser, Valentino (see the Addict MV), albeit in her own anarchic way. But loyalty and sticking up for ur loved ones is definitely a big part of being a gal 🩷
₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊
2nd: Angel Dust
😈speaking of the spood, he has a lot to offer as a potential gal!! As some of you may know, I just LOVE this outfit (above) from the Poison MV!! He has some of the best outfits and they can definitely be interpreted thru a gyaru lens! Not to mention he has that sex appeal™️ (tho its more complicated than that, which is a whole other can of worms qwq)
😈 A lot of people feel seen in his struggles as SA/grooming survivors (myself included). When he stood up to Valentino in ep6, (basically everything good he did in that episode lol), he showed sm strength. 🩷🩷
😈 what shows his gal flare to me the most tho, is when he owns his flaws in “Loser Baby” like yes we’ve messed up and no one’s perfect. And that, I think, Is very important as a gal!
₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊
1st: Fizzarolli
😈 ok so i may have a bit of a personal bias with him bc like me, Fizz is also disabled! Albeit physically (whereas I’m autistic, but still, it’s nice to see someone like me with the charisma and poise that he has!)
😈while his outfits may not me that gyaru aesthetically, Fizz is very stylish and struts with confidence! He went thru a lot to get to where he is! (Another thing abt him that I see in myself lmao)
😈 At the end of the day all these qualities make Fizz very human (imp??) and authentic! And authenticity imo, is definitely one of the most, if not most important parts of being a gyaru ❤️
₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊
Sorry for the long post! 😭 I really enjoyed making this tho!!
See u soon, love u!!
Xxx,
~Serena

trans mick thoughts???
ok so i have 2 schools of thought on this, one is more irl based but the other is more fic based (this post is tagged w rpf for blacklist but im also just warning again, rpf is under the cut)
real based
ok anon so u have basically opened up a can of worms for me . so in reality i do think mick is very frat boy coded and if i think of a mick that’s characterised very canon compliantly, i think: a king himbo like dude… he’s always just sort of known he’s not cis and/or het but didn’t think much of it, but when it comes down to it and he has to confront actual feelings and all that he struggles bc he’s always upheld this image of a poster boy etc etc
i believe that his symbol, the dragon (this is the trans dragon drawjg i rb-d yesterday :)) which he uses a lot (on his helmets and stuff) signifies change in many cultures… at least that’s what it means to me personally.
i also think that f1 drivers in general have a lot of potential with being written as trans in fic simply bc it’s the whole ‘when i out my helmet on and get in the car i am just a driver and no one can see Me’ ?? if that makes sense ?? like personally for me i really enjoy that analogy.
ANYWAY moving on to the less inexplicable things that make me wanna headcanon mick as tboy in my mind is the way his boy is so wiggly.. idk how to explain this but in this picture when he hugs this person HES JUST SOOOOO . so squishy
idk man mb it’s just smth i see but yk 🙏
2. fic
tbh i haven’t read much transmick fic (but if there r recs…… pls send them my way) but like if i were to imagine a general scenario it’s the one i talked abt in the real based thing . basically just wilhelm in young royals sort of arc..
or maybe we could go a different direction and take into consideration the fact that he grew more introverted w each racing series promotion ? maybe he saw that things were getting more and more serious and the pool of ‘talent’ was getting narrower and narrower and less diverse. so maybe he doesn’t wanna tell anyone that he’s transitioned/wants to transition. so he starts getting more secretive bc he doesn’t wanna find out how the worlds gonna treat him ? he doesn’t wanna lose a shot at f1 either ..
when he gets to f1 it’s the time when seb and lewis are advocating for change and equality in the sport. so that’s why he starts getting close and closer to them mostly 😔✊ i feel like he could go either way w telling seb or lewis first bc mb hes closer to seb so he feels more comfortable but what if thats the thing. he’s scared seb won’t accept him bc seb has known him for so long so he tells lewis first instead hmmmm
ok sorry i’m done like as u can tell i am very normal abt transing my blorbos’ genders PLEASE don’t take any of this seriously……… like clearly im just having fun here or projecting wtv wtv. if i get any weird comments abt this in my inbox i am going to block straight away

more detailed spiderverse thoughts
if spiderverse 2 was the final one itd probably be miles dad quitting and thats how we find out you can change canon events or whatever. we didnt need a second story with a second cop dad. i think gwens story wouldve been sufficient if it was just about her band. they also couldve cut the bland bird fight and moved the other spider teams introduction, it wouldve been fine if we just followed miles story until gwen came to him and were introduced to the in-charge spider people when entering the spider world or whatever. if they werent making a sequel thats probably how it would go.
if they wanted to make it better, they should make gwen be less annoying, or have some more insightful thoughts about her being annoying.
also idk what theyre gonna do with uncle aaron but im suspicious of how theyre framing him and that universe. i dont think he would do that to miles, even an alternate miles. hes just a guy with a job. and even if he would do that in a specific snecario, the fact they created the perfect scenario for him to do that makes me think theyre trying to frame him as a bad guy which i dont like.
i hope theyre gonna roll that back in the last movie or make it some sort of misunderstanding, without giving him a redemption arc because he doesnt need it.
ok so this next thing isnt a real problem as is but it would be if they cut the things i described and suddenly lacked content: the villain (spot?) has very little going on. but i think hes a cool guy, they could figure something out. make him more inquisitive like the scientist he is, make him struggle more at the start and maybe show some of his daily life. im tELLING YOU HE HAS CUTE PATHETIC POTENTIAL but i suspect thats not where the story is going just because of the way hes designed. the movie really doesnt favour certain body types (thats a whole other can of worms about this franchise that im not opening here, its been going on since the first movie)
or build up miguel more, maybe make him more prominent as an antagonist (although he works okay as it is, i think the scene where he tries to bend miles to his will is great and he works well as a representation of a forced narrative that miles has to defy). they have to be careful with him, hes kind of a basic superhero guy, whose only (but important and interesting) flaw is that he's too lawful. they should follow that lead
also im repeating myself from a previous post but some of the characters just dont have much personality. i hope they let spiderwoman take more of a stance on things in the next one because shes quite inconclusive. is she a career person that doesnt see anything wrong with what theyre doing? does she let miguel do all that stuff because she respects him? or will she completely change camps and support miles when we see her again? what we currently know about her is that shes a spiderwoman and shes having a baby. thats not very anticapitalist of them, to only focus on what a character is doing for society and how shes useful (although showing that she is useful and valuable will do it for some people, that might be important too. but i never buy that archetype "i balance career with my baby perfectly! look how strong of a woman i am")
to sum it up, words cannot describe how little i cared about gwens deal. i wouldnt have brought back uncle aaron at all but since they did they need to make him endearing again. flesh out miguel and spiderwoman
also im only saying this because i care about spiderverse, and i think it has potential, and it has responsibilities and standards to meet that the first movie has set. i still think if youre gonna watch anything in the theatres right now, it should be spiderverse

this got so long smiless
"this discourse is stupid to begin with" no its not bc its reasonable for ppl to not want to see fancontent between a child and a (perceived) adult
"assuming hobie is an adult is a racist assumption based on the problematic stereotype of adultifying black youth" fair that is an issue but most people ive seen* who say they view hobie as an adult mean they view him in the 18 - 20 yr old range, which is a reasonable assumption considering his maturity in the film (very cool and composed demeanor, looks out after both gwen and miles in a way tht resembles a big brother to some, etc). assuming that hes older than that would be racist but that has been a very uncommon assumption
*(forgive the anecdote but theres isnt a surefire way to measure general public consensus on this topic and this is just what ive observed both irl and online)
also shipping teenagers with age gap between them is its own thing and different people have different comfort levels the same way some ppl even think that 21 yr olds and 25 yr olds is weird. so even if hobie is 17 ppl still might find it weird to ship a say, 15 year old miles with a 17 year old hobie. and this discomfort is valid! who cares! but its a grey zone thats different for everyone and very nuanced between genders and culture and bla bla blabla bla
and also the overall idea that people are problematic for disliking ships w hobie bc its racist/homophobic/etc as if shipping something is a form of activism, and i get there is more nuance to online fandom culture and context is very important but honestly hes been predominantly featured in m/m fancontent which is so normalized and not revolutionary or whatever and there are legit reasons for one to be uncomfy with it (like aforementioned perceived age gap), but on the other hand shipping is (mostly) harmless and there is no hard confirmation on hobie's age and personal interpretations matter so it isnt fucking deranged for some ppl to think hobie is 16/17, the same way its harmless for ppl to assume gwen is trans (which is not canon btw) (and also of course context fucking mattersss headcanons are not inherently harmless but in these two contexts then yes, its just a matter of harmless! personal interpretation)
but also the overall need to ship characters together in the first place is its own thing where like yes its (mostly) harmless but also fandomfication is a whole thing where ppl are unable to engage with a media without breaking it apart like a toy where aspects that are not central to the narrative (like a character's gender and sexuality is a common one) are projected onto. which can be harmless but can also be insidious when it ends up eclipsing over the message of the media itself like theres a nuance to this topic. its harmless until it isnt. it has the potential to be insidious. i wont get so deep into it here but iykyk.
and sexualization of cartoon characters also fit into the culture of fandomfication. kinda. it overlaps. but thats again a whole other can of worm bc its not inherently unnatural to find illustrated characters hot and sometimes they are designed w that intention but also this is a character created for children etc etc etc but honestly if u dont know whether a character is an adult or not dont sexualize them? but some ppl are beyond help so whatever
and lastly just overall illiteracy regarding ppls ability to research like first a quote was taken out of context to prove hobie was an adult (he is not proven to be an adult) and recently ppl are saying bc the japanese artbook refers to him as 男の子 it means hes a teenager like dude the film was not produced in a japanese enviroment translations are NEVER primary sources and translations are not infallible. please.
like this topic is stupid but it isnt. it isnt deep but it is. like theres so much nuance tht people are just being obtuse about. also i hate fandomfication but its also natural except not really bc its kinda a byproduct of social media algorithms but thats an idea to be explored for another day.
hobie age discourse is so stupid... from every angle...

hope you enjoyed your bday! whenever you get the chance, can you answer the remainder of section C for the rgg game? if it's too many and you're not up to it, only answer the ones you want! <3
Thank youuuu!!!!!! its crunch time rn at uni sadly so didnt do much exciting stuff (≖͞_≖̥) But omg hell yeah i’ll answer these!! procrastination for me at its finest at least it isnt me staring into space. btw idk if the spin offs are included in this so I just kept it to the main games. also kinda long so under the cut
C.1 What was the most infuriating moment?
Recently for me its something big that happened in Y7 im sorry lol I kept talking about Y7 but its just aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhdilshilwnivw
C.2 Which game had the worst plotline?
Ok so saying Yakuza 6 has the worst plotline doesnt mean i hate the game, just wanted way more from it for it to be the last game focused on kiryu. I have my own gripe with Yakuza 5 because it felt all over the place before it came together but yakuza 6 to me felt like the biggest let down considering plot line overall just because so much felt missing from it.
C.4 Which character would you like to see as a protagonist?
Not sure if you mean playable protagonist or someone not really a main character so I’ll answer both ways lol why not
Playable protagonist I want Haruka again, because theres so much more they can do with her interactions etc can you imagine her fighting? learning from miss tatsu?? lol but more so more activities available to her
As a protagonist I want to see a story with Minami or Nishida or both heavily involved as main people in the story, I think sega has the potential to do that with them but i mean they failed a lot of other potentials loool Minami they spent time giving him such a cool design for only him to appear briefly in the whole series. Nishida has appeared so much more but I agree with others that he is the most puzzling how he got involved in the majima family AND hes a lieuntenant??? (btw looking at his model form Y2/Y5 he looked way cooler and sad in Y2 Kiwami i like that)
I hear a lot about rgg online but idk if its translated or.....
C.6 If you could revive any deceased character, who would it be and why?
Now we can say yeah Nishiki should be alive but idk thats a can of worms. Who should be alive is the someone from Y7 but I know you haven’t played it yet so we can discuss that when you have! ├┬┴┬|•⊖•)├┬┴┬|
C.8 What was the worst plot twist?
I think its been too long for me to remember how I felt when plot twists were revealed because now I only remember every reveal was like a plot twist in these games lool
I remember I didn’t like the reveal of Masato Aizawa and who he really is but reading up again about it i think its just the way sega executed it I didn’t like. On the wiki it sounds epic, my memory? not so much but again its been a while
C.9 What was the most emotional scene in the series?
I was very traumatised when they revealed how Majima’s eye was taken out, the way they animated it and the slow panning out as it happened was intense. I don’t think its the most emotional scene as there are many but its one i kept watching. My answer may change everytime I play a game again. Also a scene from Y7 comes to mind too.
C.10 Which game do you think should get a remake?
A proper remake, like Kiwami style, Yakuza 4 should be remade. Its such an epic game. The remaster is fine i guess i still need to play it but a remake like how they did Y1/Y2 is needed and i choose Yakuza 4.
C.11 Which character has the best taste in clothing? Who has the worst?
If you think about it, they all have pretty bad taste but majima does it pretty well to keep it consistent with his snake theme. The one who has the worst is uhh,, they all wear the same outfit most of the time id say that side quest guy who wears only underwear constantly in Yakuza 0 whats his name, if you compare all the characters to him then hes the worst
C.12 Whose voice do you enjoy hearing the most?
Idk if all the Yakuza games have dubbing but I always prefer the original voices for any media tbh (still remember my bro playing y1 in english it was hilarious)
So, Shin Oguri who plays Someya i like his voice. Idk if its because i loved the drama Hana Kimi so its a familiar voice but its niiceeee hella nice, love it. When Majima’s VA speaks in a lower tone, love it *chefs kiss*. Love Kaoru’s VA too felt strong but sweet. Makoto’s VA god she knows how to make me cry.
C.13 Which sworn brothers worked best?
Majima and Saejima for the win.
C.14 What dynamic would you like to see more of?
Akiyama and Hana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Majima with his tojo family!!!!!!
KAORUUUUUUUUUUU WITH EVERYBODYYY
C.15 Who has the most tragic story?
Haruka. She didn’t ask for any of this. I mean listen none of them really did (young age, environment, upbringings) but even everyone is like protect the kid (or use her because she could’t fight back at the time) and she really was forcibly brought into this. Was it in Yakuza 5 when that goon said to her that she isn’t fazed from their intimidation because she’s used to it?

ANOTHER LUC*MERC HATER HANDSHAKE EMOJI well i suppose im not a Hater since i like the fanart but it feels like people are butchering her character (what little character she has in canon anyway) and shoving her into a box she doesnt fit in youre trying to tell me someone like merc would date someone like lucid? youre so right abt everything esp how it feels like nexon has no idea what to do with her at all?? also i appreciate the seal of approval on aran hehe i would like an essay on phan pls
🤝🤝🤝🤝 shaking ur hand so hard our wrists break... i mostly dont like it bc the initial age gap however i also HAAATE ships that feel like one partner is basically babying the other, like??? thats not something people should put up with, and there is NO way merc would. she deserves someone who can support her too. also something something obsessive lesbian trope something something let lucid heal. also also i am stamping the aran seal of approval on ur forehead ur opinions are so fact. anyway
if it looks like two circles on top of each other thats because it is. the other color felt not visible enough.
the biting and maiming one is likely meant for characters u hatehatehate however in this context its the suffering i wanna put him through. love and peace and incredible violence <333
ive said it before and ill say it again- phantom is victim to the same thing that happened to dave homestuckboy, people see a cool exterior and then incessantly and permanently characterize him as said cool exterior even though it becomes VERY FUCKING OBVIOUS that its a massive front for some deep deep problems. (you could probably draw a line between dave n phantom and maybe find a common archetype ancestor but i dont. want to.) (also my note on the overrated thing applies to this interpretation mostly)
point is, hes got a mask, the mask doesnt come off when you know its a mask, and he may not entirely recognize how much of it is the mask and how much is just him, but it is absolutely 100 fucking % a mask. take it off and he would be woefully unprepared to face the world. i doubt he's been given a granule of sincere no-strings-attached affection for years and years, likely why kindness from someone like aria moved him so much- it was genuine, and it was so new, and he kept coming back bc hes had a taste of love and needs more and aaAAAAAA..... (do i put too much stock in one off lines? maybe? phantom strikes me as the kind of guy to regularly hide nerves and anxiety behind a calm facade the way he says hes doing in the literal, like, first few things he says. and maybe only lets his anger slip when it does because he considers it justified which, hey, thats a whole nother can of worms to tackle there buddy)
im nervous how the writers will handle him from here on, because his characterization in his old story and the old explorer story was top notch and what is elsewhere is......... not. again, pretending his charming persona is Him, as well as reducing the sum of his anger and sadness to things pertaining to aria and nothing else. it REALLY felt like fanon for a while. (again, a ship reducing a character to what they can give to another character... which is aria in this case. now THATS a character thats massively wasted potential. runaway ex-empress master thief aria when)
anyway he is sooo scared and full of anger and i want to see him in complete despair every once in a while <3333
#i wanted to do blue circles bc to me phantom is deep blue how and ever look at the image#blue as far as the fuckin eye can see#once again ill have to play through everyone again bc my opinions really may change#but this is about how ive seen him#layers of charisma on layers of apathy on layers of anger all hiding a huge bundle of fucking MESS#he is scared of reaching out and getting attached just to get hurt or rejected again#so he vehemently denies any feelings of affection both from others and within himself#if anyone is going to see evan as a son figure its not gonna be him no sir! <in for a surprise#none of this justifies when hes being downright nasty of course. i think he has that potential both in his deflections and just who he is#we all have that capability. be mean to ur loved ones today :) (dont dont dont dont dont)#hes multitalented. love him for that.#oh my god so many words. hope u like em dude

tell us your toy story 4 thoughts dusky
Ok you made this can of worms and now you have to die in it
Toy story 4 was the worst entry in the series by far, which i guess wasn't too difficult bc the first 3 films had already been great- and that is very very rare that all films in a 3 part series are good and not unnecessary. Its a shame TS4 came along and broke the trend. They should have ended it with 3 where it felt it ended, that was the natural end to the story
It is completely contradictory to woody's previous (and complete) character arc. Woody in this film completely reverts back to his previous state of being a shithead who's jealous of other people getting attention. The previous 3 films were about woody getting past his fear of abandonment and accepting that things change and life goes on. IMMEDIATELY the film opens on woody hating the fact Bonnie gave the Sherrifs badge to another toy and left him in the cupboard. Like ok, sure, maybe woody would still be a little jealous of not being played with, but not the way he behaves about it. if they wanted to address these themes again they would have been so much better making Jessie the focus of the movie since her issues with abandonment are so much worse and so much fresher.
Buzz Lightyear, though he had been gradually dumbed down and was never very intelligent- suddenly has no brains whatsoever. He's not much more than a joke now. Haha Buzz doesn't know what thoughts are isn't that funny. Yea he was a joke in TS3 too im not going to pretend he wasn't, but he and woody's friendship was still a key element in there. In TS4 he does..... Nothing.
Don't even get me started on Bo. Bo hasn't been present since TS2 and even in TS1 her role was absolute minimal. Her purpose really served as nothing but a jealousy pivot plot device in the development of Woody and Buzz' friendship. In TS4 they changed her entirely. She's not the same character anymore. We get it, you wanted a badass heroine in there for the Rep but [gestures to Jessie again] you really missed this. This movie could have had SO MUCH POTENTIAL if you had just REMEMBERED JESSIE IS THERE. We did not need Bo Peep and her weird "lets give woody a girlfriend" plot. Something something she helped woody find the next part of his life- except for the fact the ENTIRITY of this story is unnecessary.
The very focus of this whole saga is how best friends should stick together no-matter what. You've got a friend in me. Too bad that's out the window. Woody is fine leaving the gang to go and wander with Bo- contradicting the entire message of the previous films.
I get what they were trying to go for with forky, but given the context of the film compared to its predecessors its just totally lost. It's really overshadowed by what the hell else is going on- to the point i barely rmember what that plot was about. What was the point of Forky. It was a good premise and opened up all the mysteries of what qualifies as a toy and like how they're made and such and that even the simple things are important to a child but. He doesn't seem to serve as much more than a plot device either- because how the fuck are they gonna make a 4th movie in a finished franchise. In the end thats what forky feels like.
They bigged TS4 up for having very heavy themes never before addressed in an animated film for children and stuff in it and for being heartbreaking- but it did not meet those expectations in the slightest. I bawled my eyes out at TS3. My DAD cried at TS3. But TS4 didn't deliver at all. Those heavy themes they talked about? With the introduction of forky I expected it to be something about identity or something. That potential was there. But.... no it was organ donation. I'm not saying that's not a big thing, but overall it had so fucking little impact at all. They are toys. And in the end it would have no impact on woody anyway, because Bonnie would never find out, because HE FUCKING LEAVES THE GROUP. If you wanted to address organ donation SURELY you should have had him give up a part of himself and STILL be welcomed back lovingly among his friends who would support his decision. Surely Bonnie would be sad that her toy suddenly stopped working, but she would love him anyway. But she never knows because Woody becomes "lost". Bonnie is about 3-4 years old right? She absolutely has object permeance and when she discovered her cowboy is missing she will be so sad. She has other toys, but not that one. Do you people not remember TS3.
Tbh i do not even remember this movie that well. I saw it once in cinemas and was so incredibly disappointed I have never watched it again. So my points may be a little off bc ofc this is just my understanding of this film. But it annoys me so much to the point praise for it makes me want to hit people. They could have done so much better. It was an unneccssary sequel. they would have been better using similar story for a completely unrelated (preferably new) franchise instead of capitalising badly on characters who are already whole and loved. Animation is a hell industry under capitalism and TS4 ended up feeling more like a graphics showcase than a heart filled movie. I could probably go on but jesus christ i. sorry

hey! this is a very serious question without negative ulterior to it and i'm sorry in advance if you take it the wrong way, but i really want to have your point of view on how you feel about sarawat and tine not having a proper kiss scene yet? don't you feel it to be a little unrealistic and quiet naive from the show? even if i personally don't want them to kiss in every episode tbh but having such little reaction from tine, after being boyfriend with sarawat make it looks uncomfortable
hiii anon!!! oh man ... i ..... this topic of discussion has become so ... its polarising to the point where ive become tired of it bc of how contentious its become.
kisses are an added bonus to things, if anything for me personally, which is nice to see. yes, i'd like to see tine initiating a kiss, or actively kissing sarawat back too, but .... it just doesnt feel right right now for that to happen. not when tine's not ready to do so.
now some may say that theyve moved in but tine isnt willing to kiss? to which i say ... ya know. yes theyre boyfriends. but theyre also really really good friends to one another too. they enjoy each others companionship. they want to share their space with one another. and tine has been physically close to sarawat in SO MANY ways, that its just as fulfilling and satisfying to see, so much so that a kiss is just gonna be a bonus. nothing else. but tine's perhaps just not quite ready to initiate a kiss yet bc ... that might mean a lot to him, and tine still is in this frame of mind rn where he still cannot believe he is wat's boyfriend, but he's trying and he's putting in the effort bc he does like wat. and he wants wat to Know that. and wat is so patient with tine, that he's okay with tine not wanting to initiate kissing. but tine rn needs the emotional fulfillment his relationship with wat brings to him as he navigates his way through his insecurities and low self esteem. thats not easy to do. not at all. and pam is still yet to come!!! and thats going to open a whole can of worms. and until that doesnt get addressed, tine is going to be On Edge. sarawat ending ep 11 by saying "i dont think anything bad will happen anymore" is just as ominous sounding bc things still havent actually been sorted? theyve told each other they like one another, but that does nothing for tine's insecurities when he Knows at the back of his head that mil is still Lurking. and then pam is going to come into the frame and thats gonna Stress tine out even more until he has no option but to lay it out flat on the table to sarawat, that "hey, listen. i dont feel so good about these things and we need to talk about them." until tine doesnt initiate THIS, sarawat is not going to know. and THAT is what needs addressing between them, and what tine NEEDS addressing for the sake of his own sanity and healing and heart, before he feels secure enough that "our relationship isn't under potential risk, damage or threat and that wat isnt going anywhere," to initiate kissing or whatever. but the problem rn is tine is just not brave enough to voice out his deepest concerns or insecurities. and he's gonna NEED a push like pam (who is a literal reflection of himself) to do that.
i just ... i dont feel like ive missed anything with them having not kissed, when we have gotten to see them be intimate in So Many Ways. and theyre all just as valid. and its quite telling that even tho they havent kissed, people are still HOOKED onto their love story, bc thats what it is: a story about 2 boys falling in and figuring out love. so, something must be happening right for people to be so enamored by their love story. and every facet of love is being shown here, from emotional to physical, and so, a kiss will come, when it will. why not enjoy all the other ways, in the meantime, where we see them being intimate? through words and gestures and gifts and healthy communication and mementos and domesticity, etc? isnt that what real life couples also do? isnt it so nice to see 2 boys slowly falling in love with one another, in their first relationships with a boy, have all these things between them to signify their relationship too?
and then theres a small matter of this being a gmmtv show. you're not gonna get kisses for the sake of them. thus, it makes every kiss that does happen feel that much more monumental and significant. personally, i prefer that.
but yeah, endpoint is: the kissing is just a bonus. if we get it, cool. if we don't, i'm cool with that too. tine and sarawat's love for one another shines through in every act of theirs, anyway. the whole world, literally, knows that as Fact.
#faiza answers#im not answering any more asks on this now im.#Tired of this subject.#2gether#2gether the series#i mean have yall seen the untamed??? we get Nothing. no form of physical intimacy at ALL.#and yet wangxian's love SHINES THROUGH.#ya know. its amazing the impact and power a Good Plot can do.

for the duration of the classic games, sonic was Incredibly reserved. talked to no one and only used sign language when necessary, had no social life outside of talking to flickies and other woodland creatures, just was Completely isolated from people. he was SUPER close to his parents, and having them die made him essentially swear off of. talking to people. to steal lyrics from wicked:
too long i've been afraid of losing love, i guess I've lost well if that's love it comes at much too high a cost
meeting tails and his relationship with him is what made him talk and start to accept friendship back into his life, that he Needs companionship and can’t get by on his own and that a life alone is a miserable one, but it was a gradual process that spaned the adventure games and sonic heroes, so here’s a rambly post about some of how sonic went from a hermit to the VERY anime friendship guy he is in sonic forces!
sonic is pretty prickly and easily irritated in adventure 1 and is still stuck in his Cool Lone Wolf kinda ways? avoids amy very obviously, openly says shes weird, frustrated with knuckles, very dismissive of tails etc. at the same time when he gets separated from tails when they crash in sa1 he’s genuinely sad and concerned for him, and prioritiizes how chaos would feel if locked in the master emerald while still rampaging. he very clearly cares about people, he’s just. distant and has kinda bad people skills. during sa1 sonic starts to realize he needs to listen to his friends and be more tolerant with them, though (amy stopping him from destroying gamma, how theyw oulda probably noticed birdie had an emerald if sonic hadn’t blown off amy so quickly, everyone bringing the chaos emeralds at the end), and he starts to? get along better with them? calls knuckles buddy in sa2, definitely gets along better with amy, puts a lot of his faith in tails when he gets shot out of the ark, AND fights with shadow at the end, is much less prickly in sa2 and just in general starts to embrace this group theyve kinda scrapped together
speaking of sa2, though: shadow! sonic has always had a short temper depending on the situation, but particularly in sa2 he didnt take kindly to a) being accussed of shit he didnt do and b) excUUse me how dare you copy me? like me?? still, he was definitely intrigued by shadow, and sonic is Painfully curious by nature, not to mention the whole affinity for chaos energy thing. kinda lilke a pull to the stuff. i also think sonic GETS aloof grumpy characters, because even if he wasnt ever grumpy, just short-tempered and kinda irritable, he was definitely aloof, and gets what it’s like to struggle to connect with others when you’re afraid of losing them. throughout the game they both come to respect eachother, and ultimately the fight they have at the end is. the first team fight sonic has? he has to put his trust in someone in the battlefield, really learn how to keep an eye on himself AND whoever hes fighting with, which is different than not hurting civilians for example. they both constantly ask eachother how theyre doing and sonic suggests to shadow that he needs to rest and that he can tag in. like regardless of everything that happenned during the game sonic cares about shadow, and whether by necessity or otherwise, trusts him to fight alongside
so when shadow, someone sonic probably considers somewhat of a friend, who was fighting with him and who sonic wanted to keep a close eye on, dies when he’s right next to him AND super sonic it doesn’t Feel Great. sonic felt responsible for shadow falling, for one, and for two, that’s someone he cares about dying. again. when thats what he wanted to avoid by essentially dissappearing from society: he didn’t want to lose people. of course losing shadow si very different and less painful than losing his parents, but it’s a reminded of what he’d been running away from all this time, and what he’s potentially going to go through again if tails, knuckles or amy die, too.
so he goes on another ‘vacation’ between sa2 and heroes-- distances himself from everyone else again, both to Repress and also to start to start to go back to the lonely nomadic lifestyle. the thing is, after going through what he did with everyone, tails in particular, he misses them. he misses company, now that he got it again, and realizes he doesn’t want to be alone again. being alone sucks, no matter how much you double down on it.
and tails and knuckles Show Up-- like they find HIM rather than the other way around. they come back, like a boomerang, and all three of them go to defeat eggman again, in an Entirely trio-based game, where sonic learns hwo to be a better teammate, and how to depend on others in a fight again. shadow turns out to be okay*, and at the end everyone refuses to let him fight neo on his own, and he’s? kinda overwhelmed? that he’s gathered people who are willing to support him, and that return like boomerangs, too
he wont be alone, because his friends will always be there to have his back, and he can always count on their help!! superpower of teamwork babyyyy. annd at the end, instead of going off on his own, he TAKES tails and knuckles with him!
sonic at the end of the day needs companionship. he leans towards ambivert and needs a Lot of alone time, and loves his personal space, but he needs to know someone is there to have his back ykno? he loves people, and needs people, and hates being alone like... in life. not like running alone or travelling alone, but just. having no one in his life is almost kinda terrifying. he knows what thats like and is aware he doesnt want to go back to having no one know his name except for the local flickies he saved from eggman.
*note: sonic definitely has unresolved shit from Everything That Has Ever Happened, aside from his parents deaths, because he’s so desensitized to all of it and just.. always Has to function, it isnt a question, and shadow ‘dying’ isnt an exception. definitely not as bad as other stuff, like the guilt for everyone who DID die, but he never worked through? much of it? because unless it specifically worms its way to the surface, sonic doesn’t know it’s There, and even if he picks up on somethig he won’t adress it unless it’s Baaaaad, and that’s only a recent thing. repress and move on, thaaaaaaat’s life pal. it doesnt help that sonic is honestly seen as Emotionally Invincible by everyone around him, so who would think he has baggage abt somethign that happenned when he was 13? (btw he was 13 in sa2 which is a Yikes!) he feels he failed shadow, particularly because it was. the ‘death’ that happenned right after he also blamed himself when his mom died in his care. he works through the occasisonal thought about it by just! trying his best! not letting it happen again! but again, never worked thru it, never told anyone. someone write this w/ me somehow blease
#i just wanna talk abt my sa2 Realizations#its v messy but here we are#i started writing this when i finished takin notes on sa2 and Came Back to write this at 3 am i am Not coherent#◜° ★ ▸ where does somebody keep all those gold rings? ╱ ❪ hc ❫

hey its me again wall of text sorry not sorry
k i saw your little treatise justifying zadr and yknow its a cartoon its not the worst thing ever of course nobody is gonna sue you for reblogging fanart or burn you at the stake or w/e and im glad you decided to open yourself up to a differing opinion but zim IS portrayed as an adult. there was even an unfinished episode where zim’s childhood and growing up training from start to finish would be shown so by the time of the pilot he is definitely a full grown developed adult by irken standards especially if hes a former member of an elite military force like the invaders. jhonen has said that the irony and sad comedy of zims character is that hes a grown ass man and a war veteran to boot who VOLUNTARILY goes to an elementary school every day and throws hands with an 11 year old boy who should be well below his notice because he’s that pathetic and desperate for validation that he’ll stoop to seeking it from a child. it also sets up a dynamic between them where dib is CHALLENGED by having to go up against an adult with way more experience than him while dib is just a child, so when he wins its more meaningful, which is a common trope in childrens fiction that an underdog young hero has to take down a powerful adult villain.
jhonen might joke a lot but he’s serious about this part of the characterization of zim and dib and he even went to great lengths to make dib look and act more like a kid in ETF (more emotional and naive, designed to look smaller/softer, going in depth with his relationship to his dad and sister and needing his dad to protect him at the end when he’s too overrun to fight alone) just to drive home the point of how young he is. it was a very deliberate move and jhonen knows what hes doing ESPECIALLY since he also left zim pretty much unchanged and also includes gags about zim’s relative maturity like animating him briefly grimacing because his joints are sore and the part where he pretty much gestures to his crotch and goes “theyre afraid to look at ALL-A THIS”. like you would not see jhonen do that sort of joke with an underage character ok. dont confuse his social awkwardness and self deprecating/trolling humor for not knowing the difference between right and wrong and not acknowledge when he means something sincerely because he doesn’t just clown on people and troll ALL THE TIME 24/7 hes a human, and times have changed with more awareness on issues such as the grooming of minors so he can go back on things he may have said in the past that he doesn’t agree with now or said by mistake. he has said enough times that zim is older than any human alive that its safe to take his word for it by now. judging by the one strip he did in JTHM about johnny murdering a pedophile who was about to prey on squee i think his stance on protecting kids is pretty clear. also i wouldnt put it past jhonen to have redesigned membrane to be more chaddy looking to divert the adult fandom’s attention away from dib and throw the fangirls a bone but thats a whole nother can of worms lol.
and the justification that zim is immature so hes essentially on dib’s level is a reversal of something lots of kids hear from either creepy or ignorant adults who tell them theyre “so mature for their age”. no matter how emotionally mature you are it wont ever compensate for the number of years youve been alive so that’s not very sound logic, and even in fic where theyre both adults it’s still pretty weird because it doesn’t erase their history where zim knew dib as a kid. that’s sort of like a grownup waiting with bated breath until a kid is “legal” so they can start dating. kinda like when jacob imprints on bella’s newborn daughter in twilight then having it handwaved away by saying he’ll wait till she’s grown up, which understandably drew a huge amount of criticism. it’s a loophole that might be mildly acceptable in some cases but the context leaves it colored with a residual ickiness that sets off some red flags for me and a lot of other people.
also you said zim is an alien and therefore the situation itself is unrealistic, but the reason invader zim’s writing resonates with people is because zim is written with very HUMAN emotions and motivations and part of the humor again is how irkens despite being aliens from another planet mirror some of humanity’s worst flaws such as being petty, gluttonous, willfully ignorant, arrogantly believing they are special and better than everyone else, easily manipulated by propaganda, all too eager to greedily colonize other societies etc making them not so different from us at all. so the premise out of context might not seem realistic but the idea of a sad burnout adult who doesn’t realize how humiliating it is to be consistently outsmarted by a kid less than half their age IS realistic and applicable to human interaction since we’ve likely all met someone like this before at one point in our lives for example a schoolteacher who has a personal vendetta against one or more of their students and has nothing better to do than antagonize them, or a really dumb parent that you fight with a lot.
another thing, i know you and other fans probably have a lot of sentimental value and nostalgia attached to zadr because you probably shipped it back when you were a kid yourself and you cant be blamed for something you liked as a kid, but youre an adult now, and you have to listen to the portion of kids in the fandom who dont like zadr and say without question that the age gap makes them uncomfortable. those kids ARE the priority. we’re grown up now and we have to put our feelings aside for them because that’s part of being responsible and mature. i feel like zim himself is a pretty good example of how not to act at our age [shrug emoji]
and anyway a lot of the same elements of zadr can be explored with zadf just as well with just as much potential for cute moments and as a bonus is it’s not creepy
You do bring up some good points, and I’m not saying you’re wrong... But honestly I’m still not convinced. I mean, stuff that Jhonen said, the thing is even if it’s the author saying it it’s still outside of canon, that’s the reason why Neil Gaiman got flack for Good Omens because they didn’t write an actual kiss or hug or hand-hold between Aziraphale and Crowley yet Neil Gaiman went on Twitter saying they were queer representation. I still don’t really put much stock into what he says because the unfinished episodes and Jhonen’s commentary don’t really change the dynamic that’s actually in the show. And again...Jhonen said if there were going to be romance in the show it would be Zim/Gaz, so he’s either a huge hypocrite or doesn’t view Zim as being incompatible with Gaz.
I do think it’s much better when Dib is an adult and it just makes more sense, and I actually do prefer zadf to zadr and if i were going to ever write fanfiction or make fanart it would probably just be zadf, just because i know this does have some stuff to think about and I totally respect that you have a different view of it, but i honestly just don’t see it that way. The analogy with Jacob imprinting on Bella’s child in Twilight isn’t really the same thing honestly. The author in that situation tried to make it not......that....by saying that imprinting isn’t always a romantic relationship thing, and that Jacob would be more of an older brother, but honestly that doesn’t really negate the impact of grooming that kid would have with Jacob around. The idea that Zim would somehow be grooming Dib seems really silly to me although you’re right, I think his characterization in Into the Florpus has evolved somewhat especially with regard to Dib wanting to get his father’s approval, but again Zim has parallels with that in trying to please the Tallest. the world-building and characterizations are inconsistent and scattershot at best. Like no, zim isn’t waiting for him to turn legal, that’s absurd, they’re nemeses coming at each other then learning to be friends. You’re right that that doesn’t have to be zadr but I still tag it as zadr so people can block it if they want to.
Like, I’ve seen people ship Zim with Professor Membrane instead of Dib. That seems very weird to me. that professor membrane would have a relationship with someone who literally goes to his son’s elementary school and who doesn’t know anything at all about human behavior and emotions.
I feel like with this discussion people don’t really understand the problem with age gaps. With age gaps, it’s not a matter of mature/immature, it’s about development. A ten year age gap sounds like a lot right? a 25-year-old and a 15-year old would absolutely have a predatory “relationship.” But a 35- and a 45-year old, that’s perfectly fine. Having a difference in age doesn’t automatically make the relationship unhealthy. so if Dib is 25 and Zim is [whatever the hell aliens years i still don’t really take Jhonen’s word for it bc he’s not consistent], that’s doesn’t mean it has to be bad. The thing about telling minors they’re “so mature for their age” to try and convince them that a person interested in them isn’t a pedophile is that we know a human being who is 15 isn’t developmentally at the same level as a 25-year-old regardless of their behavior. What is Zim? All we have to go on is how he acts, and he acts like Dib is an equal match, it’s not “he’s immature for his age,” it’s very unclear. Raw number of years isn’t the ultimate decider, for example in DnD lore elves reach maturity at, like, 100 years old so a 25-yo human trying to get with a 50-year-old elf would be predatory to the young elf even though the “younger” one is technically twice as old as the human. Do you see what I’m saying?
I also don’t really buy the idea that Invader Zim’s writing resonates with people because Zim is ~~so human~~. The guy steals a bunch of kid’s organs in one episode and flies into a tantrum over the slightest inconvenience. You have to be reading really deeply into it and dig into some old internet archives of things Jhonen Vasquez has said to paint it as realistic. You can do some interesting things with it wrt like, Zim being defective and starting to experience human emotions but that’s mostly fanon.
Well, you’ve given me some things to think about, thanks for explaining your side to me. I’m still going to tag things as #zadr so people can block if it can’t plausibly be categorized as zadf. I’m not actually making any fan content for Invader Zim so the point is kind of moot, but if I ever do I’ll definitely take this into consideration.

(Part 1) Hi! I really appreciate your blog! In a nutshell im writing this because I feel like I can't live my life honestly. I'm in university because thats what everyone does but I would've preferred to marry right after high school and start having children but it's difficult to find a man who still views that as a real job (an ex boyfriend once called me lazy). and my parents would never accept me dropping out just to wait to get married. I've been told to try finding a husband in a church
(part 2) but I'm not religious and it feels dishonest to join a church just to find a husband. I hide a lot of this still from my friends as they often make fun of my femininity and imply that I don't have real life goals (and thats from what I show them so I couldn't imagine what i'd get if I was completely honest). I couldn't picture a better future than being a SAHM in a small town. I'm 22 and getting to the point where I don't know how to make that happen as I was born so far from it
(Part 3) I feel like I don't know where this is coming from, my family isn't religious and I was always told to think about my future career. Not that my parents were shaming femininity and pushing me towards any certain career, just that my parents were happy having careers and probably assumed I would too. Anyway it just seems like you figured out how to be confident about owning traditional femininity and found a way to live it. This was so long so even if you only read half of it, thank you
hello dear! sorry it took me a day to get to this, i saw your message yesterday and wanted to sit down at my computer and type out a good response to it rather than trying to do it all on mobile. I, and probably a lot of other women in this community, understand what you’re going through on a very personal level. In modern day, femininity, especially the traditional kind, is completely shamed by almost everyone you meet. You’re called lazy, told you lack ambition, and basically scorned for wanting to take care of your own home and raise your own children. I’ve always found it a bit funny how people think wanting a thriving marriage and children is “lazy”, yet we live in a culture of divorce where nannies and underpaid daycare workers raise our children who end up having behavior problems. It’s very frustrating and oftentimes I want to grab people by the shoulders and shake them to wake them up to this. If you believe a successful marriage, well run home, and well behaved children with good values are something that just happens and not something that takes an astronomical amount of effort and work, don’t be surprised when this culture continues. But you already know that, or you wouldn’t be messaging me and choosing this lifestyle, so I won’t bore you with my ranting :)
I’m going to go through your message in order to make sure I hit everything you asked about!
You and I are the same age. It is extremely normal to feel somewhat lost at this age, and those of us who have figured out what we want feel very out of place among our peers. Especially if what we want goes against the mainstream narrative. If I had it my way, I’d already be married to my boyfriend by now, with a kid on the way or here. You’ve already done the hard part: figuring out your place in the world and what you want from it. The next hard part is finding a partner who has those same values. A lot of people on here really do like to recommend finding a man through church. I’ve never been very religious, I’m only moderately so now, and I didn’t find my boyfriend through church. This advice wasn’t useful to me then and it’s not useful to you now. You’re correct when you say it would feel very dishonest to just join a church to find a husband, and a good man is going to value honesty. Truthfully, there’s no one place you can go to to find a good match. There’s not exactly a group meeting of traditionally minded people in every city or town. But you can be proactive in seeking out a good man. My advice would be to look into potential groups at your university. Conservative political ones, to be more specific. I’d stay away from TPUSA, YAF, etc. though, as these people tend to be wolves in sheep’s clothing. They’re just social liberals who want low taxes. Many TPUSA members readily admit people only go to their events and conferences to hook up, drink, and smoke. Stay away from these types or risk wasting time. Other potential places are book clubs, online (be careful with this one. I can make a post specifically on this topic if you want--just message me), local political clubs not through your university, and in general day to day life. A lot of people have something in common with you: they hide their beliefs and this aspect of themselves for fear of mistreatment. You won’t know until you ask. Despite what you may come to believe from twitter and other social media, this movement is growing. Generation Z is set to be one of the most conservative generations in recent history.
As for dealing with criticism from your friends and parents, this one is extremely tough. I have always had extremely thick skin. I’ve kind of just done my own thing for as long as I can remember and not taken any sh*t from anyone who has something to say about it. This is easier said than done if this kind of thing isn’t naturally in your wheelhouse, which it’s not for most women. I take criticism seriously, but I know who to take it from as well. The people that matter and know what they’re talking about. Not to rag on your friends, but most people who give you a hard time for your choices seldom know what they’re talking about. If you were to take a random poll, most people are not very happy with their lives or their choices. They are easily brainwashed and influenced by the mainstream media/culture. This brainwashing leads to poor choices that make them miserable, which the media then tells them are their own empowering decisions they make for themselves. A good example of this is casual sex and hook up culture. If I were you, I’d work on finding new friends as well. Another thing easier said than done, but to me, it sounds like your friends are projecting their own “wants” (whether it’s what they *actually* want though...that’s a whole different can of worms) onto you and treating you like you’re stupid for wanting something else. Your parents criticism is something to take seriously, but not something to compromise your values over. You say they wouldn’t accept you dropping out, but are you sure about that? Statistically most women who have kids end up wanting to stay home with them. A task thats extraordinarily difficult to do if you have mountains of debt from student loans getting a degree that almost certainly does not matter. You’re the one taking on the debt, you’re the one who should be making that choice. I’m willing to bet if you dropped out and got a decent job they wouldn’t be nearly as angry as you’re thinking. Perhaps writing them a letter expressing your views and why you’re doing what you’re doing could be less intimidating than trying to come into it cold and face to face. You could even approach it from the point of not knowing what career you want to pursue, and therefore don’t want to waste time and money studying something that isn’t going to pan out. I personally only went to college because I was guaranteed to graduate almost entirely debt free (I just graduated with around $2k in total debt). You could even look into a trade. In my opinion, avoiding debt is best. That in mind, it is also a good idea to work and build some wealth of your own to bring into your marriage/relationship.
I hope this helped you and if you have any other questions you can message me! <3

The Mentality of Followers and Notes and the sensation of joining the South Park fandom.
NOTE: This is only my experience of joining this fandom, of creating a SP blog.
I must ALSO add that this experience was related to the fandom on INSTAGRAM, and specifically the ASK BLOG portion.
Hello! Recently I began reading up on/watching South Park. If you live under a rock or are under 18, South Park is one of the longest-running animated shows on Comedy Central. As of the 13th of this August, the show is 22 years old and was renewed for its potentially last season, 23. It’s known for absolutely obscene graphic humor, killing off one of its main protagonists, Kenny Mccormick, in nearly every episode, making fun of every ethnicity, race, and celebrity it can, and just generally being a hot mess of piss jokes, Cartman being an asshole, and genuinely interesting plotlines at times with slow built character development.
Now, first I will say: I haven’t seen every episode. With the trigger I have, it makes it very difficult to watch certain episodes, namely before they stopped killing Kenny any way they could. Most of the information I do have is gleaned from synopses, reading the Wiki pages, and my very helpful friends who I’ve met since joining the fandom shortly before Kyle’s birthday this year.
Now then: to the actual meat of what I’m getting at.
As a tumblr user, I’m rather fond of ask blogs. And since tumblr is falling apart faster than my relationship with my family did, I looked for other places to make them
Enter instagram.
Now, I was hesitant for a very long time over even downloading Insta- thats a whole other can of worms. But through Insta, I discovered South Park itself.
Now for reference, I love LGBT rep. I love seeing shows be progressive.
Enter Tweek x Craig/Creek/Twaig. Baby’s first gay ship in the fandom.
Watch a few episodes, be interested in the characters a bit more each second.
Start seeing more and more favorites pop up, namely Kenny Fucking Mccormick.
SPOILER WARNING: Kenny is Mysterion. I’m sorry, it’s been years, we all know now.
GOD this kid stole my fucking heart, dropped it into active traffic, and then stitched it back together with his own fucking hair because holy shit.
So, I decided to show my interest in this the best way I know how. An ask blog.
Enter @/ask.cutiepark.
At this moment I’ve reached 265 followers- and yeah, you read that shit correctly- and I haven’t been active long.
The fandom has it’s issues, as all fandoms do. I’ve been lucky to talk to people who are very open and loving of most ships, There are problematic ones...
Namely these two because holy shit I haven’t seen a ship this controversial since Voltron went belly up and died on the beach.
Anyways, I’ve been very fortunate to talk to very kind people.

These darlings are the sweetest motherfuckers on this planet to me.
All are also very creative as well!! Many of them, despite their content, are around 15-16!
When I was getting started they all were so kind as to help me out. I’ve never once been reacted rudely to, people are very open and supportive of each other because it’s not a contest. We’re really all just out here watchin a show about a group of 9-year-olds who live in what appears to be purgatory, and I’m so fucking grateful to the creators Matt and Trey for all the heart and soul they've sunk into this.
