Finally finished assembling and cutting out all the pattern pieces for the dress that I have one week to finish now 😭
#I haaaate doing pdf patterns and I’ve avoided it since the first one I did but honestly breaking it into chunks really does work#I printed off like half the pages and then trimmed the edges and taped and cut just enough at a time#so that I could cut out an entire pattern piece or two and then set it aside for like a couple days and it was so much easier that way#like physically and emotionally#sewing#that was honestly the hard part I think#I hope I finish because I have a wedding to go to lmaoooo

Bits of it are inevitably going to be shown in comics but since I decided to write the camping trip as a fic Im probably not going to dedicate a comic to the trip itself.

9-1-1 fandom deal with your amatonormativity challenge ESPECIALLY when eddie’s storyline has been and continues to be filled with amatonormativity and how damaging it is to him…. fandom will agree that he’s been constantly forcing himself into relationships to get the ideal nuclear family for his son and because he thinks he’s failed as a father and person but at the same time think if he just gets with buck it will fix all of his problems… it’s exhausting and damaging and if the show doesn’t grapple with the bad messages they’ve been sending the least the fandom could do is acknowledge it and not propitiate it…

i think we gotta be more careful about falling into the trap of placing heaps of blame on the most vulnerable groups around us because it’s easier, emotionally or otherwise, than going after those in power. like i mostly talk about transandrophobia right now and how transmascs get so much shit thrown at us because were easier to attack than cis people, and i’ve seen people do the same thing to transfems and NBs too. to me it’s extra disappointing when it’s someone who is vocally supportive of transmascs doing it (like generalizing all transfems as being hostile to transmascs/being transandrophobic). it’s of course important to talk about inter community issues and point out harmful behaviors and ideologies when we see them, and talk about how someone’s life experience might lead them to be that way, but singling out one type of trans person as The Culprit is not helpful and just feels like it further drives a wedge into our community. we may be able to perpetuate aspects of the transphobic systems cis people put in place, but none of us are responsible for them and we don’t benefit from them, past surface level “acceptance” from people who’d be more comfortable if one type of trans person or all of us didn’t exist at all
#it honestly is really hard to call out harmful behaviors a trans person might exhibit because transphobia is so rampant rn#on one side you’ve got people who will demonize a trans person for existing and on the other there’s people who refuse to believe-#-trans people can do any wrong#i think the former is Much worse but they’re both still bad#it kinda makes sense that ppl resort to black n white thinking cause it feels like there’s no middle ground#but like. it doesn’t have to be that way. we can defend ourselves while acknowledging our ability to do wrong#we’re human not perfect machines and i think being able to make and learn from mistakes without being completely socially ostracized#should be a part of trans liberation#transandrophobia#transmisogyny#transphobia#oh also i’m trying to think more carefully about saying ‘x kind of trans person experiences y’#or ‘trans people ESPECIALLY x kind of trans people experience y’#because i’ve noticed people will assume things that happen to transfems never hppen to transmascs#and i don’t want to perpetuate that kind of thinking regardless of what trans group i’m talking about#tbh i think there’s VERY FEW circumstances where you can confidently say a certain kind of person never experiences something

Getting REAL sick and tired of how omori TikTok views sunny.
Like, they view any scene of him being emotionally vulnerable, affectionate, or even just making an expression outside of just being completely neutral as “mischaracterised”. He’s not some cool, stoic, unwavering badass, he is a traumatised teenager. Don’t cry whenever he dares to give his friend a hug or (god forbid) be SAD about something??? Isn’t like. Part of the point of his development about him allowing himself to break down the repressive walls he built when he shut himself in? And being able to rely on his real friends instead of imaginary versions? And isn’t the game like. Meant to SHOW that he still cares about them despite isolating himself?
It’s really stupid to get mad at a character like that showing emotion or affection personally, especially since he’s not used to expressing it properly after so long. But that’s just me
#this isn’t even solely about the manga though it inspired me to make this post#any piece of official art in which sunny dares to show an emotion is shunned as ooc and I’m sick of it#he only appears ‘neutral’ throughout the GAME’s narrative because he HAS NO FACE SPRITES#because he’s the protagonist and has no actual dialogue#therefore he only makes a few expressions the entire game#obviously manga sunny is a good bit more expressive than canon sunny but#it’s REALLY not as bad as TikTok is making it out to be#I’m so TIRED of this character being viewed as nothing but a rock that ONLY has personality before and the game’s events#not allows to emote at all because ‘he didn’t do that in the game!!’#because he is restricted to ONE face sprite the entire time outside of the battles#omori is a DIFFERENT case and I can admit that manga omori is a good bit more expressive than he should be but#he’s still VERY stoic especially compared to sunny#which is what is should be#sunny should be quite closed off but in contrast to omori so much more human#that’s like. a massive part of their dynamic I feel#anyway this is such a long rant but god im so angry#I’ve seen one too many people cry ‘mischaracterised’ at a teenager expressing feelings#PLEASE stop it#also this is not to say you can’t critique manga sunny’s portrayal#because there are a few issues I believe#which are honestly really hard to dance around considering the factors I mentioned before#about having one expression most of the game and two lines of dialogue the entire time#and honestly? I think they did a pretty okay job!#he’s still a silent protagonist but seeing him emote so often helps us see into his mind and know how he’s thinking much easier#both portrayals have their pros and cons and ultimately I prefer the game’s portrayal#but that’s not to say this version of sunny is terrible and ooc like people have been saying#and that’s definitely not to say that any moment of emotional vulnerability he has is terrible and inaccurate#because that’s. just terrible and untrue#omori#omori sunny

so i’ve been. THINKING lately.
you can find many similarities in both stories but there are also huge differences…
in cain and abel’s story cain murders his younger brother because of his jealousy and because god preferred abel over him, which is obviously similar to how chuck’s pride made him envious of jimmy because he’s more likeable and made their mom laugh etcetera etcetera..but i’d say abel was a pure guy, he didn’t do anything bad, he was like. basically the purest human being at that time (well it’s not really difficult to be the best person when there’s like 4 people in the whole world and two of them literally got kicked out of heaven but anyway). and cain murdered him. which is clearly not the case with jimmy and chuck because obviously in the legal point of view chuck is a better person than jimmy …
and we’ve got esau and jacob, which is i think a really underrated story. i mean i love cain and abel but i think people often forget about those two. esau, (technically) an older brother, always gets tricked by jacob. jacob buys his birthright and steals his father’s blessing that was meant for esau. and esau rages at him because. i mean. that’s not a nice thing to do. but in the end jacob becomes one of the Main Characters in the genesis… personally i think this story is more… idk, specific? there’s just something about the younger brother constantly tricking the older to get what he wants, even though the reasons not always are completely selfish. BUT! in the end esau and jacob made peace which is (spoiler alert😨) not the case with chuck and jimmy ………..and also jacob didn’t really have a redemption arc and esau just. idk. moved on with his life. got a family and all that. so he basically became a normie. but yeah ANYWAYS!
so yeah. i’d really love to hear ur thoughts and opinions on this one because i am a little bit insane about all this stuff as you probably noticed
