I found this—a bio from my LiveJournal profile, c. late 2003–while looking through some old files on my computer, searching for something else. I normally save this type of content for my side blog but I had to share this one here because it’s such a perfect summation of who I was (or at least what my persona was) at the time.

And to be honest? Other than the fact that I no longer exclusively use she/her pronouns, and no longer have enough confidence to say I have ruthless sex appeal? …Not much has changed.

This hurts so bad, and Klavier deserves so much better. One small nitpick, however: I would say that DD heavily implies that Apollo and Klavier had a personal conversation after Turnabout Succession. The line that reveals that is this:

Klavier: She may have taught the judge course, but she had a huge impact on me. She was fond of saying, "The end is only justified through proper means." She wouldn't tolerate dishonesty and always revered what was right beyond all else.

Athena: (I can feel Prosecutor Gavin's sadness. Oh, no, I think I'm gonna cry... *sniffle*)

Apollo: Athena? Are you tearing up? Though I can't blame you... Prosecutor Gavin owes a lot of who he is to Prof. Courte. [Bolded for emphasis]

I propose that Apollo wouldn’t have known what an influence Courte was on Klavier’s life unless they’d had a heart-to-heart off screen somewhere. I refuse to believe Klavier is suffering all alone, it’s too sad :(

It is truly heartbreaking that Klavier Gavin is one of the few, if not the only characters in current canon who has no meaningful bond with any of the other characters. He loses his brother, twice. He loses his best friend and with him the band that was his entire life for 7 years. And if that wasn't enough, the writers go out of their way to even kill his mentor in AA5. His entire supoort system is gone and he does not get a new one. Sure you could say "What about Apollo?" but in their brief exchange in Turnabout Academy they're not even on a first name basis. Hell, the text implies that they haven't talked to each other since Turnabout Succesion.

Klavier is truly alone but all of the other characters aren't. The defense attorneys obviously have many friendships and bonds with other charachters but so do the prosecutors. Edgeworth has Phoenix, Kay, Sebastian and Franziska. Franziska has Edgeworth. Hell, even Blackquill who is portrayed as abrasive and a loner, who has spent 7 years in jail is shown to not only have Athena but also friends like Bucky Whet. Nahyuta, portrayed as emotionless and resigned to his fate for most of the game not only comes out of it with a mother, uncle and two siblings but also finds a friend in Ema.

But Klavier? Charming, beautiful, legal prodigy, rockstar? He has no one. He is completely alone when he walks into the courtroom. And he is truly alone when he performs on stage. There, in the blinding limelight, surrounded by this crowd of adoring fans who worship the ground he walks on, he finds the lonliest place on earth.

its so important to me that artists remember they can fuck around. you never have to use tools as intended. you can always skip steps. you dont have to be organized. you dont have to be neat. you can put as little effort as you want into the parts of the process you dont find fun. maybe if youre making products you cant do these things but on your own time you can do literally actually whatever the hell. it doesnt matter how long you spend on it youve made art and its complete when you decide to quit. yee haw

just had an absolutely sickening conversation with a 20 year old I work with wherein I had to impress upon her that her and her friends need to be extremely cautious going to the gay clubs right now with increasing attacks happening. make sure any very young, very newly adult queer people in your life know that we're a family and community and part of that is being willing to fight for your siblings lives if they're under attack. even if it's a person you despise, you stick up for your family and they will stick up for you. we are all we have. the cops refuse to help, and so do most people outside the community. we cannot survive without each other
