the thing is I do kind of think if cosette had actually been able to express/was able to articulate to jvj what & how strongly she felt for marius & that she wanted to see him again I do think jvj would have done his best to allow that to happen (even if he was miserable about it) — see his behaviour after he sees cosette's letter/reads marius letter, everything he does to make sure they're able to see each other & then get married, and his motivations for leaving the convent (to allow cosette to live her own life as her own person even if that means eventually being 'separated' from her) — but unfortunately (not her fault) she was raised by the most secretive & dysfunctional & repressed man alive so like. that doesn't even occur to her or seem like a possibility. and then jvj through his own inexperience doesn't perceive that cosette is actually really interested in marius (there are several scenes of his misunderstanding this) & so just thinks marius a creep his daughter is not even aware of. and like this is not to say that there is not pettiness & selfishness & misery around this on his part in his own thoughts (there obviously is) but just that we see do see him overcome this to do what's good for cosette as a person & what will make her happy at several points in the story, and also that I don't think he would have separated them intentionally if he knew their real feelings

Listen, I'm not here to dictate how you should interpret Dottore's character, I'm really not; but the one misconception about him that really kills me is the idea that he's a "sadist who experiments on people for fun". Where in the world did people even get that from?

Here's the truth: Dottore experiments on people because he thinks he should. Because, if experimenting on someone will get him the results he desires in his endless pursuit of knowledge, then he will not think twice before going through with the experiment regardless of how cruel it is. Tighnari, while recounting his conversation with Dottore, says, "he never came off as malicious, but an utter lack of compassion permeated throughout our conversation". That's who Dottore is - someone lacking compassion for people, someone who sees himself as greater than the others (whilst also seeking recognition in his homeland, but that's a separate can of worms that I'm not opening today). Dottore won't think twice about how his subjects feel because he does not care; there is no pity nor excitement, only a need for results, answers. So... the next time someone says he's a sadist, just keep this in mind: he's literally not.

Tim I noticed a lot of indigenous patches on your jacket, are you Native?

Idk what my dad was 'cause I never knew him, but yeah my mom is (or... Was.. I guess..) Muscogee, the tribe native to the part of Alabama I'm in.

If I remember correctly she came to Alabama from Oklahoma (where a lot of Natives were displaced to in the 1800s) to "get back to her roots."

But yknow, I was separated from her in childhood (which tbh is upsettingly common for Native families) and I was raised in a very white very Catholic asylum so I'm not as connected to the culture as I'd like to be.

Childbirth had nothing to do with Padmé's death.

She just happened to die during childbirth from entirely unrelated reasons. Even the birth itself was caused by the entirely unrelated reasons. Padmé is not in labour when Anakin attacks him, nor during the time she is transported from Mustafar to Polis Massa. The medical droid says "we need to operate quickly to save the babies", meaning most likely that they had to induce her, so the twins wouldn't die with her.

Padmé was so sure that she wasn't going to die in childbirth. Why wouldn't she be? She's a rich Senator who lives in the Republic Capital, with all the latest medical technology available for her. Nothing has been going wrong in the pregnancy so far. She seems very healthy and active for someone who is in her third trimester. She's still working full time, and is running around the Galaxy after her husband to the very last moment.

She tells this to Anakin, and Anakin, blinded by his fears, does not listen to her. He outright refuses every single reassurance Padmé gives him. This shows Anakin's inability to accept help, the same way when he's talking to Yoda and does not elaborate in any way on what the situation actually is. He's in so deep to his possessiveness and paranoia that he refuses to see any other viewpoint or option than his own fears.

Now my personal running theory is that the Force was trying to warn Anakin. Trying to show him what would happen if Anakin didn't learn to let go. Trying to show him what would happen if he continued on his path and didn't accept help from people who really wanted to help him. Trying to tell him to get help.

And Anakin refused to listen to any of it.

There's a lot of reasons I'm not on board with the Alucard/Maria ship (in Nocturne's context, I still have yet to play Symphony of the Night and so can't speak to their game counterparts) but one of the reasons is that I genuinely think it would be the most boring route to take that would also be the biggest disservice to their characters.

Maria is clearly unmoored right now; she's lost her mother, she's killed her father, and Richter and Annette have left. She only has Juste and Alucard, both who she only just met and has no real strong attachment to. She's throwing herself headfirst into a revolution that's about to turn incredibly bloodthirsty, echoing her own descent into violence and vengeance.

She's likely developing a crush on Alucard, yes, but I think it runs deeper than that: I suspect she's going to latch onto him out of the belief that he's the only one who can understand what she's going through (vampiric parent, martyred mother, killed his father, etc.) And with Maria also turning increasingly towards vengeance and violence, I suspect this attachment is going to concern Alucard more than anything else. He spends decades trying to avoid human attachment, and when he decides to try again this child not only develops an unhealthy fixation on him, but also tries to use him as a blueprint for her own descent into vengeance. That's horrifying. That's juicy. That's going to give Alucard even more hangups about being in the lives of mortals. How can that not make him feel like a corrupting force?

"I want Alucard to jump on Maria as soon as she's 18" Well I want Maria to use Alucard to justify her wanting to behead people left and right while Alucard is wracked with guilt over having corrupted this child. I want them to make each other worse.

i know wincesties might not like this but that samdean interaction from provenance where sam says “yeah you’re right, part of this is about jessica. but not the main part.” and dean asks “then what’s it about?” and sam doesn’t answer — that wasn’t about incest. it was about sam feeling like he’s cursed and not being able to explain it to dean. it kind of mirrors their interactions from s4 where sam struggles to explain to dean how he feels about having demon blood in him. also it’s the only interpretation that makes sense here considering everything that happened to him earlier that season. sam doesn’t want to hook up with anyone because of jess, and then later in that episode he tells sarah: “look, it’s hard to explain. it’s just when people are around me — i don’t know, they get hurt…i had a girlfriend. and she died. and my mom died too…i don’t know, it’s like, it’s like i’m cursed or something.”
