Hey pop!
I’ve been thinking about roadside attraction lately,(absolute banger chapter 5, I’ve reread it like 2-3 times now!)
-and I am so curious about what was it that inspired you to make another chapter? Random inspiration? Hyper-fixation beam? Have you been to a diner yourself lately?
Whenever I eat at my town’s local diner I always get reminded of roadside attraction, (he’s just like me fr haha,) so I was curious if the same was true for you?
I love your fics! Thanks so much for making them. ◡̈
I find writing UF pap is so hard, but you make it look so easy?? I love your characterization of him, you’ve really nailed the whole vibe of ‘ut pal but add years of impossible decisions and unfathomable violence’, like you can TELL he’s got the heart of ut pap in there, but it’s changed because of the world he’s grown up in. He’s had to become a protector young to keep his family of two safe. (Something that ut pap would do too, in his own way. Probably a lot less violently.)
It’s really cool to see where they’re similar, where ut pap ends and where uf pap begins.
I can’t wait to see uf pap’s happy ending, he’s earned it. <3
Oh, and the little interactions with him at sans at the ends of the chapter?? I LIVE for those, they’re so funny and cute. Arguably, they might be my favourite part of the chapter, like a little treat at the end of dinner.
Aaaa thank you, I’m really glad you’ve been enjoying the fic so far! <3
As for what inspired me to write a new chapter, I’m kind of embarrassed to admit it because it’s so predictable of me lol
But…I actually just reread Bones, Picked Clean again, which is probably my favorite fic. A long time ago, it’s what got me more interested in AUs, and Horrortale, and what inspired me to start writing fic in this fandom in the first place. I guess it did it again because I read through it and then cranked out a full chapter in just a couple days. I hope I remember this trick next time I get writer’s block! XD
The end-notes of the chapters are definitely one of my favorite parts, too! I love getting to show a little peek of what those knuckleheads are up to when they’re off-screen, so to speak, since it’s usually something dumb. Best way to wrap up a chapter is with definitely with idiots being idiots!

ever since we figured out my husband, his sister, and his cousins are all autistic, the possibility that i married into an entirely autistic catholic family where all of the older adults are undiagnosed is kind of objectively hilarious tbh. everyone's autistic drives compel them to need a bunch of alone time but everyone's catholic cultural mores compel them to put family first and repress the hell out of themselves. no wonder they're all passive-aggressive as hell to each other all the time and got mad at me when i didn't pick up on how to do "family" that way. i literally did get catholic religious trauma-by-proxy lmfao

alright, this really, really sucks but i have an unfortunate update that occurred regarding my recent living situation.
not to get into too much detail for the sake of my friend's privacy, but she and her fiance offered to take me in after i was suddenly on the verge of homelessness this february. i accepted their offer and moved in thanks to everyone's support, and for the last few months, i felt comfortable and capable in getting myself together for the first time in years.
however, despite what i assumed were all positive developments, things started getting a lot more complicated. i become exposed to the treatment and stress my friend has been suffering from her fiance over many years, from being spied on via tracking apps, in-house cameras, a ridiculous jealousy complex and all sorts of other personal issues.
her friends and i have been supporting her over the years, but i didn't realize how bad it was until i started to be subjected to it as well.
my friend decided to break up with her fiance last week, finally standing up for herself but still wanting to remain friends and live as normally as they could, they still had the house and their cats and such. her now ex-fiance hasn't taken kindly to this and has been pretty passively hostile towards us, and has started to take it out on me.
she started stalking my tumblr to find things to get mad at, and checking the cameras when i leave my room. i've not felt comfortable to leave my room in well over a week other than to get some food or use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the tension has been a nightmare.
my friend and i decided we needed to move out, especially me since i'm technically not a tenant and we suspect she's going to call the police on me to get me out of here. my friend will be going to her parents at a later point, but i unfortunately need to leave within a couple weeks as i've already been "indirectly" threatened.
this is sort of a nightmare, and i feel so horrible things turned out this way for my friend. i tried my best, but this feels out of my control. trying to keep the peace has only made things worse, and we think it's best for me to book it before i get blind-sighted.
i suspect if her ex-fiance sees this, she'll retaliate, but at this point i've already made my peace with that.
unfortunately, i won't be able to bring much of my stuff with me, i only have enough money for a ticket to move in with another close friend as an emergency.
i don't have enough to buy any checked bags for most my belongings, especially my desktop pc, so once i move i'm very likely going to not be able to do my art or anything until i can afford a laptop eventually. i'm really sorry to those waiting on any commissions, i'll try my best to get them done before i move. i feel so horrible about this.
if anyone is able to help, i'd really appreciate it. even just a reblog is more than i can really ask. i hesitate to make this request because i feel like i just asked for it only for it to all be wasted once this exploded in my face. but i've been encouraged to reach out, and i apologize if this is too much. my ko-fi:
thank you so much for supporting me so far. i don't want to disappoint anyone anymore. i am so scared but i still want to keep trying.

🐈‍⬛
Aunt Margot’s ringing up a tattooed girl with glasses when you stomp into the shop. You swing the door open so violently that it’s bell thwacks into the wall. You had almost a mile in the woods to walk it off but your anger has only grown, ballooning into a hot rage that’s devouring everything in your path.
“How was it?” Margot asks with a sly smile once the customer’s left with their little brown paper bag.
“River’s disgusting,” you announce.
“What happened?” her expression immediately clouds with concern.
“This is exactly why I don’t date witches. I told you that I didn't want to be set up with him.” you rant, blowing past her into what was once the dining room.
There’s still a turned leg table at its center, now piled with goods for sale. Percy winds his way between beeswax candles and hand-poured soaps.
“Oh yes I really forced him on you,” she says with sarcasm. “I recall the two of you were practically necking in front of the whole coven last night.”
You’re not sure if it’s the idea that you almost fucked River or the term necking that grosses you out more but you cringe.
“He’s so backwards. Guys like him make me ashamed to be a witch,” you say.
“How can you say such a thing? Ashamed to be a witch! Do I need to remind you just how lucky you are? After what we’ve been through? Our kind was almost wiped off the face of the earth. By mortals like your little boyfriends,” she says.
“I’m so tired of hearing that. It’s a shitty excuse. Mortals killed witches hundreds of years ago so we get a free pass to do whatever we want. To treat our familiars like slaves,” you reply.
She scoffs. “Percy do you hear that?”
He squeaks indignantly.
“He’s offended by that,” she tells you.
“He should be. It’s worse than offensive. It’s evil!” you say. Your voice echoes so loudly it rattles the antique silvered mirror hanging over the mantle.
Margot gathers Percy in her palm calmly stroking his white fur, her eyebrow arched in a way that tells you she’s trying to be patient. You shouldn’t take out it on her. She’s never been anything but good to her familiar.
“Do you know what he said about Ezra?” You can feel tears begin to bite at your eyes.
She frowns when she reaches into your mind to hear it herself.
“His family’s always held onto the old ways," she says, shaking her head in disappointment.
“Don’t make excuses for him,” you snap.
She tucks Percy into the pocket of her cardigan and places a gentle hand on your shoulder.
“He’s an idiot and I’m proud of you. And you should be proud of yourself too. All of you,” she says.
The basement of the Arcane Page might be described as spooky, what with its cobwebs and dusty, amber jars. Apothecary shelves stocked with potions, rare ingredients, and animal bones meet the low ceilings. Disused broomsticks sit in the corner along with willow branches and a black goat’s horn. There are all manner of spell books down here along with hand written notes from your ancestors. At the center of the room there’s a wide oak table carved with runes and spells. It smells like ink and dried leaves and magic.
The warm sunset streams through the egress windows catching the dust that floats in the air. Margot didn’t have to be a mind reader to know you wanted to be alone and so she didn’t put up a fight when you offered to close up on your own. After you closed the register and locked the front door, you ventured down to the part of the shop meant only for witches.
Your plan was just to have some quiet before venturing upstairs where Ezra would be waiting. For all you knew he was still huddled under the bed. You could abhor River but only one of you had actually hurt your familiar. You couldn’t bring yourself to face Ezra knowing you were just as bad as the rest of them.
You start opening old books. Spell books and ancient texts. You’re looking for something, what it is you can’t be certain. All you know is that you felt drawn down here, your fingers itching for the parchment pages.
When you were a young witch, you came here often. There were spell books that had become your favorites, embellished with intricate illustrations. You memorized charms for changing the color of your hair and shuffled a dog-eared set of tarot cards. This was where you cast some of your very first spells. Magic made the world feel full of wonder yet it gave you some control, an order to things that would otherwise be chaos.
That’s gone now. All of it mixed up— pride and shame, power and weakness, love and loss.
You pull a large volume from the shelf, its soft leather cover embossed with constellations. heavy and thick, You need both hands to carry it to the table where it lands with a thud and a gasp of dust escapes into the air.
You turn it open, the aged glue of its spine cracking. You run your fingers over the delicate pages, so thin you can practically see through them. They’re covered in a careful hand and you can’t help but wonder about the witches that set these spells down, what advice they’d have for you.
The magic in here is convoluted, singular spells that spill over pages and pages with diagrams and celestial calendars. Some are written in verse so dense you can barely make out their meaning. They remind you of the cadence of Ezra’s voice.
These are not small acts of witchcraft. There are instructions for summoning beasts and recipes for potions that restore youth to be brewed specially on the solstice. Some of it feels dangerous— curses against unfaithful lovers, spells to wake the dead and use them for your bidding.
You read through them all with mild curiosity. You have no reason to reanimate a dead horse or brew a cure for quinsy— whatever that is— though it would be amusing to cast a perpetual dancing spell on River if you didn’t think it would kill him.
You chuckle to yourself as you imagine him dancing uncontrollably, his limbs uncontrollable, as you turn the page. And there you see it.
What you didn’t know what you were looking for has found you.
You barge into the apartment with a wild look in your eye. Ezra’s still curled up in your spot on the bed. He’s been there most of the afternoon, letting bad memories flood his mind.
After the elders turned him, Ezra promised himself that he would be better. He’d been selfish and dishonest. Quick to anger. It was out of necessity, he’d told himself, but obviously it had only brought him suffering. He would change. But had he? He’d let you care for him, had loved you and fantasized about you, and he’d hurt you.
You’re calling his name, breathless from running up the stairs, with a leather bound book under your arm.
Ezra lingers in the bedroom door, guilt still festering.
“Look,” you say, setting the tome open on the little breakfast table with a thud. It seems as though you’ve forgotten everything, a whirl of urgency about you.
Ezra hops up and seats himself in front of the weathered pages. He takes in the verses there, the drawing scratched with quill and ink. It’s complicated and obscure, laborious instructions that must be followed to the letter. Behind him you’re nearly bouncing with untamed energy.
“What are you showing me?” he asks. He knows. The spell is exact but its outcome is clear.
“It’s a transfiguration spell,” you explain.
“That much is clear but—“
“I want to do it,” you say. There’s a determination in your words, a fiery assuredness that makes Ezra’s heart pick up. “I want to turn you back into a human.”
“That’s impossible.”
“No. It’s all right here. And it says under the moon of All Hallow’s Eve. That’s just in a few weeks,” you add excitedly.
“Little mage, I needn’t explain why this is folly,” he says.
It pains him to say it and not just because being human again would be the greatest gift. Your expression is a mix of frustration and heartbreak.
“You propose to defy the Elders’ judgment. They won’t take kindly to that,” he says.
“Fuck them,” you hiss. “The laws have changed. If you were convicted now, they’d take your powers but they wouldn’t make you live like this.”
“They’ll take yours if you do something so foolish,” he says. It comes out harsh but he’s angry that you’d risk your powers for him. That he wants so badly to accept.
“You don’t deserve to be a fucking cat. You should get a normal life,” you say, your body sagging onto the sofa like it can’t stand the weight of it all anymore.
“That’s quite a touching sentiment.” Ezra tries to couch the words in sarcasm but his voice breaks. He jumps down from the table and situates himself on the cushion beside you.
“Why didn’t you tell them?” you ask, defeated. Tearful eyes look towards the ceiling before falling onto him. “When they put you on trial. Why didn’t you tell the elders what he’d done?”
Ezra’s head sinks between his shoulders.
Damon was the kind of witch that only used his powers to numb himself to the rest of the world. He brewed potions that made him neglectful of his daughter one moment, belligerent towards her the next. Ezra had never considered himself a do-gooder. He saw the girl with bruises and said nothing. He was so disinterested in the goings on, he’d never even bothered to learn her name until his trial. Largely, he ignored them until the night he took Damon’s life.
Ezra hadn’t meant to engage him. It was a snide remark he made that pulled Damon’s attention away from berating Cee. Soon the two of them came to blows, Damon throwing the first punch with an accusation. Ezra was scrappy but there was a point when Damon had him pinned down and he thought his time was up. So when he was able to break free, Ezra made sure he wouldn’t be bested.
“You can’t understand how precarious it was for us then,” he says. “A hundred years of witch hunts. The life of a witch, even one as detestable as Damon was precious.”
Maybe if they’d known how Damon treated one of their kind, they would have shown Ezra leniency. But the real reason he accepted his punishment was because he knew it had been his own fault. Had he intervened earlier, gotten the Elders involved, it wouldn’t have ended in murder. You might think him a hero, but when the Elders made Ezra her familiar, Cee made it clear that she did not.
You sigh, a slight shake of your head, and you sink back into the sofa.
“You are a more than capable witch but this is ancient magic. It took the powers of no less than three elders to change me,” Ezra says as if it’s any consolation.
“Maybe Margot—“
“You’d both risk your powers,” he stops you. “No, little mage. It’s impossible.”
“I’m not coming,” you say.
Aunt Margot is loading a carpet bag into the trunk of her station wagon. Nearly a month has passed since the equinox. Halloween is two days away which means it’s time for your annual trip to Salem where the coven will be gathered through Samhain. The celebrations will be days long, singing and food, apple bobbing and fortune telling. Your little gathering doesn't compare.
Last night you couldn’t bring yourself to pack.
“What do you mean?” She asks.
”I’m sorry,” you say with a shrug.
You’ve been waffling on this decision for weeks but you’ve made up your mind. Even if it disappoints Aunt Margot.
”But everyone will miss you. And Simone’s making her gumbo,” she says.
”I know,” you say.
As Margot babbles out more reasons why you really shouldn’t stay home (“The spirit walk just won’t be the same without you”), Ezra snakes between your legs. You were nervous of how she’d take this news and Ezra promised to be moral support.
She throws out her hands with a pout. “I can’t stand thinking about you alone for All Hallows Eve,” she says.
“I won’t be alone,” you say, picking Ezra up and scratching under his chin.
“I will miss the gumbo,” he tells her.
“No Ezra,” she contemplates. “Maybe I can actually win at Scrabble.”
“Perchance,” he says, and you know she’s mentally tabulating the word score.
“Is this because of River?” She narrows her eyes.
It’s not. While you certainly won’t miss him, you wouldn’t let some dickwad keep you from having a good time. It’s all of them, really. Esme and the rest of them. Knowing how they think of Ezra, how they think of you, it makes you want to scream. You can’t subject him to their scorn and disdain, you won’t. You’d rather spend All Hallows Eve at home.
And then there’s that little part of you. The one that knows it’s preposterous and downright idiotic yet still hopes that you can put the Halloween moon to good use. Ezra shut that down fast but, oh, how good would it feel for the funny little witch to give them all the middle finger? .
“I’m just not in the spirit,” you say.
“Well it won’t feel like All Hallows Eve without you,” she sighs.
“I know,” you say. There’s a lump in your throat. You’ve never been apart from her for Samhain. There are countless warm memories of Halloweens past. When Margot got you your very first cauldron. The taste of pumpkin pie. The year of the freak snowstorm.
With another sigh and the jingle of her bracelets, Margot pulls you into an embrace. The smell of vetiver hangs off her hair and you breathe it in deeply.
“I’ll light a candle for you,” she promises.
“Thanks,” you say.
“And I’m going to jinx River’s socks. They’ll be damp for a month,” she says.
You laugh.
The horn of her car beeps and you break the hug to see Percy appear at the top of the steering wheel.
“He’s worried about the traffic on the Thruway,” she tells you. “I’m coming!”
“Take care of her,” she says to Ezra, petting along his jaw
He nods.
When Margot’s tail lights disappear down the street, you sit beside Ezra on the front steps.
“You could go,” he says.
“I made the right choice,” you say, stroking down the shiny fur on his back.
“So what now?” he asks.
“I don’t know. I've always wanted to go trick or treating,” you say.
“That’s blasphemy, little mage,” Ezra quips.
—
Ezra holds you in his arms. Human arms. Your skin is warm against his as you lay tangled together. The morning light catches on the prism beads you have hanging in your bedroom window, little rainbows dancing across the walls and rumpled bedspread.  His lips brush across your forehead, leaving a ghost of a kiss at your hairline. You sigh dreamily and your fingertips graze his bare chest. You‘re just barely awake when you turn your face up to him, your eyes warm like you missed him while you were sleeping. He greets you with a kiss, your lips opening to him with a low hum. His fingers tangle with yours as the grasp the spindles in the headboard.
His name comes out of you in a gasp of breath.
He’s had these dreams for years but they’ve been happening almost every night since you showed him that spell. Sometimes passionate– your thighs opening as he explores your body— but just as often innocuous. Picking flowers in the meadow by his boyhood home. Bringing you tea as you read on the porch swing.
Each dream is so alluring, even the most banal, he wakes up with the words on the tip of his tongue, ready to ask you to risk it all and turn him.
You haven’t brought it up again in the weeks since you set that spellbook in front of him. Maybe you thought better of it. Maybe you were just angry. You told him about your spat with River and, while it touched him that you’d come to his defense, he knew it was an impulsive choice.
Either way, it’s for the best.
It wouldn’t end well. Of course, you’d be putting yourself at risk. He’d made that very clear to you. There are a thousand other reasons why it shouldn’t be done. He’s probably forgotten how to be human and what he would do with himself in this day and age, he has no idea. The only job experience he’s had in the past two hundred years is rat catching.
The logistics of being a human matter little to him, though. His real concern is with you.
He’ll no longer be your companion. You won’t scratch behind his ears, invite him to lay in your lap. You’ll probably expect him to move on and live the life he’s always wanted. He can’t think of one that doesn’t involve you.
At least as a cat, he never has to know if you’d choose another man over him.
He’s laying awake, pondering this once again, when your eyes crack open. Warm mid morning light pours in through the lace curtains, bathing you in a honeyed glow. With Margot out of town and the store closed, the two of you had been on your own, spending the previous dsy together. A walk in the woods, a visit to the coffee shop where other patrons greeted Ezra with friendly scritches. You bailed on plans with the mortal Connor to watch movies and snuggle Ezra on the couch. It should have been enough, that’s what he thought when the credits rolled and you were snoring on the couch, your fingers buried in his scruff. He could share a lifetime of this with you and be grateful for it. But he was greedy.
”Happy Halloween,” you say.
You pull him close and he nuzzles into your warm skin.
“You were in my dream,” you say. Your voice is still rough from sleep, still somewhere far away like you haven’t fully regained consciousness.
Ezra’s cheeks heat under his fur. It’s not just the raspiness of your throat but his shame. If only you knew what he’d been dreaming about.
“I was doing that spell. To change you,” you say.
“I would’ve hoped for something more scintillating.” He plays it off as a joke.
You huff a laugh and rest your wrist across your forehead, eyes cast towards the ceiling. “Right when you turned I woke up,” you say.
Ezra doesn’t want to admit it— that he was thinking about that very spell, that he wants your dream to be a premonition. Witches have been known to have those. No, that’s wishful thinking.
He gets to his feet and stretches out.
“What a pity you missed my face. I can’t quite remember my own countenance,” he says.
You sigh with exasperation. “I think it’s a sign,” you say.
“Our dreams are just that,” he tells you.
“Not this one. It wasn’t just a dream,” you insist. You sit up on your elbows meeting his eye with eagerness. “I can do it.”
“I told you—“
“Ezra, I want to do it,” you say with finality. “I want you to be human again.”
He grits his teeth. If he was capable of crying, he might after hearing your words, seeing that resolution in your expression. It takes all of his strength to not just give in and say yes. You know the reasons why it shouldn’t be done and he can’t tell you the ones that make him hesitant.
“You would turn me knowing how much more capable I am of violence? I might be declawed but I will be far more dangerous as man than beast.,” he asks. It still weighs on him even though it’s been weeks since the equinox and it seems you’ve all but forgotten it.
“I trust you,” you say. There’s a tenderness in your eyes that makes Ezra’s heart swell.
He knows you mean it. You shouldn’t. He doesn’t deserve to be trusted, to be loved by you. He was never a good man, never stood up for anyone else. And it’s that very reason that’s had his mind in knots. He’s selfish. He wants this chance.
Maybe, maybe you’ll give him the same look as a human and he can love you back the way he’s always wanted.
“Besides, I know how to defend myself,” you say with a grin.
That’s his little mage.
“Very well,” he says. “I’m ready.”
You light the final candles on the oak table. The basement is illuminated by the dim glow of candles. You’ve spent the whole day down here with Ezra readying everything for the moon of All Hallows Eve.
Luckily Aunt Margot will be gone for the week so you don’t have to worry about interruptions. You’re not sure how she’ll react but right now, frankly, you don’t care. This is the right thing to do, you keep telling yourself. It’s justice. It’s not about the thrill you feel now, butterflies in your belly.
You’ve daydreamed about it and after last night’s dream, your imagination feels closer than ever There’s no good picture in your mind of what Ezra will be like but his looks aren’t important. You can’t wait to do normal things with him. What will it be like to get a coffee with Ezra? To do rituals together at Ostara. To hear his old stories again, made new by his facial expressions.
He’s quiet, nervous you’re sure, beside your cauldron. His golden eyes flit from the flames to the spellbook to the darkened window. Your excitement cools and suddenly you’re worried that your enthusiasm got the better of you. Had you pressured him into agreeing to this? He’s still your familiar after all, bound to serve you.
You kneel at the edge of the table.
“Are you sure you want to do this? We don’t have to,” you say.
“As long as you’re certain you’re willing to take on the risks,” he tells you.
You nod.
“Very well,” he says.
You look at one another for a long time, both knowing that this will be the last time things are the same. You memorize everything about him, his elegant face, the whiskers beside his little black nose, the streak of white fur above his eye. This is your Ezra, will always be even if he doesn’t exist in this form. You wish you could thank him for everything he’s done for you but the words are stuck in your throat. It won’t do to start crying now when you need to focus and recite the incantation clearly.
“I love you, Ezra,” you manage.
He responds with a long, slow blink and you kiss his forehead.
The potion is murky and thick as you ladle it into a dish. Ezra recoils when you place it in front of him.
“Smells like piss,” he says with a wince before lapping it up. A shiver runs over his body, down the length of his tail. “Tastes like it.”
He leaps onto the table and settles at the center of the carved pentagram.
“Work your magic, little mage,” he says.
This is it. It’s all laid out just like your dream but you’re still anxious. There’s no room for error.
With a deep breath, you straighten your back and begin to say the words. You read them countless times throughout the day, memorizing each verse so that it can flow from your heart to your tongue. As each one leaves your mouth, you visualize them on the page. Magic begins to stir in you, a tingle beneath your skin.
Ezra lays on his belly, his eyes drifting close, paws outstretched towards you.
You shut your eyes tight and focus your energy, like a beam of pure magic directed towards him and say the words again.You think about him, really envision his details down to the hair. Memories flood you. Ezra rubbing up on the old books in the store. His soft purrs against your chest when your heart felt heavy. The time he slipped on the edge of the tub and fell into your bath. The love you feel for him radiates in your chest all the way to your fingertips.
You’re squeezing all of it palms, every drop of energy within you aimed at Ezra. A vibration, an earthquake.
You say the words a final time.
Lightheaded. Breathless. Exhausted.
Your eyes flutter open.
Ezra lays on the table just as you left him. Unchanged.
“No.” The word slips from your mouth nothing more than a whisper.
Ezra blinks, looking down at his black paws.
You see his shoulders sag and a long moment passes as he gathers himself before looking at you.
It doesn’t make sense. You did everything right, just as you’d seen in your sleep. You’ve never cast with such fervor.
“Okay,” you say, swallowing hard around a sob. “We’ll do it again. The moon will be higher.” You can hear your own desperation, voice shaking as you try not to lose faith.
Ezra slowly sits himself up.
“Maybe you need more potion,” you suggest.
“No, little mage,” he says, resigned.
“Ez–” You’ve failed him. Your chest burns, tears brim in your eyes.It feels like you might collapse from the exertion and sheer heartbreak that’s overwhelming you.
“It’s alright. I’ve been a cat for more than a few years. And so I shall remain,” he says.

Why Her? - Matt Sturniolo
Tumblr media
a/n: this is my first fan fic so pls be nice, i made this keeping in mind i might make this a series thing so yes its a bit of a slow burn. Its pretty bad considering it is my first time writing something like this.
Summary: You and Matt have been best friends your whole life, sometimes even more then friends.. so when he gets a girlfriend, you make it your mission to remind him what he's missing.
Warnings: Swearing, angst, fluff, protected p in v and oral.. might make this a partly thing.
part 2 part 3
Matt x Female reader
One of the perks of having a birthday on October 31st is the amazing halloween party's you get to throw. This year, Nick offered to have the party at his place, you, Nick and Chris spent months planning and decorating for the best night of your life, (i mean it is your 21st birthday), as for Matt.. well he had decided to spend his time with his new girlfriend.... Maria. Nick and Chris hated Maria, it was obvious she was clout chasing Matt. She would always ask to be in their videos or post Matt to her social media. They'd only been dating for a few months so obviously Nick and Chris got suspicious when she'd ask so often. You'd never met her personally but anyone who was dating Matt was immediately dead meat to you. But tonight... you were going to meet for the first time.
Nick is currently updating you on the shit talking Maria does behind your back. "I mean she hasn't even met you yet it's all empty threats and boosted egos." You smiled lightly at Nicks comment. "We would much rather prefer it to be you than her." You let out a little giggle. "Let's just get ready to have a goodnight okay. Who knows what will happen tonight." While getting into your costume, you go over your plan in your head: look hot, get drunk, fuck Matt. It was pretty easy, Matt always fell victim to your flirtatious persona, he'd obviously fall for it tonight after seeing you in your corset and mini skirt.
After putting on the finishing touches to your costume, you take a few shots with Nick and not long after people started to arrive, soon enough people were piling through the door in their halloween costumes. Matt had stayed the night at Maria's the night before so he didn't come til a little bit later. Your nerves started to rack up while waiting for him to come so you and a few others did a couple more shots.
"Oh you guys are gonna get fucked up". Chris walked in wearing his Stranger Things inspired costume. "AWWW CHRISSY! YOU LOOK SO CUTE!" As you walk over to Chris you stumble over the floor "woah! looks like someones already a bit tipsy." Just as you look at Chris, Matt walks through the door with his slutty girlfriend. He's dressed up in an extremely attractive cowboy costume, the jeans hug his crotch while the button up flannel shows his chest in the right ways, clinging to his arm... she's obviously dressed as a cowgirl, but the jean shorts give her camel toe and the tied up flannel shows just how uneven her boobs are. You mentally scoff before smiling and walking over to them. "Matt! It's so good to see you" You clumsily walk over to him and hug him in a way that purposely creates tension between his crotch and yours. You back away and look at Maria, throwing her a fake smile. "You must be Maria, it's so nice to meet you" She looks you up and down before throwing a fake smile back "you too... happy birthday" You look back at Matt just in time to see his eyes rake over your figure. "Well you two have fun" Without saying anything else you walk off.
As the night progresses you continue to dance with your friends and enjoying your birthday, every now and then looking at Matt as he looks at you even with Maria by his side. You even made out with a stranger just to get him on edge. The time hits 3am, everyone's sung happy birthday and are slowly starting to leave.. but the house is still more than full with people. You've stopped drinking now but can still feel the alcohol in your system. As you hug some friends goodbye, you see Matt kissing Maria goodbye. You smirk knowing Matt will finally be alone. Matt quickly pushes past you going upstairs and into his room... it was obvious he didn't want to be alone with you, but like hell were you gonna let him get away with that.
"Didn't even say happy birthday to me" you pout as you walk into his room. "You don't need a happy birthday from me, why are you in my room." You can see he's putting up a fight in his head whether or not to make eye contact or not. "I haven't seen you in a while, you don't talk to me anymore." You were serious now. It hurt not talking to Matt. "I have a girlfriend now." You scoff. "So that means you can't talk to me?!" "We don't talk. We fuck. And I don't cheat." He was serious, but you didn't care. You sat on his bed. "Why her." "W-What?" He looks up at you. "Why her. Why not me. I know you better than any other girl, I know how to make you feel good. Why her." He didn't have an answer.
You look at him right in the eye, "What does she have that I don't." He didn't expect that question from you. His eyes opened slightly before returning to his neutral expression. You crawl closer to him "I mean, she's hot.. but I'm hotter." You stop crawling right in between his legs. "You're drunk." You perk yourself right in between his crotch. "I stopped drinking about an hour ago." "Let's get you to Nicks room." "I don't want to be in Nick's room, i want to be in yours." Your hands roam his thighs, his breath hitches as he watches your hands. "Why can't you want me the way I want you?" You were genuinely asking. Before he could answer you place yourself on his lap. "This is wrong" he whispers so close you can feel his breath on your lips. "Then why does it feel so good.. No one has to know, just us." You pepper kisses on his neck, his hands subconsciously finding you waist as his head flies back giving you more access. You pull away causing him to look up. "Take my clothes off Matt." Without a second thought his hands fly to the clips on the front of your corset undoing them all within seconds. As he throws your corset on the floor you start unbuttoning his shirt.
Once his shirts completely discarded you look at him, he obviously can't control himself yet you can see he's thinking about how this will affect his relationship. Your hands find their way into his curls. "One more time Matt. That's all i'm asking. That's all I want. And after this.... you don't have to talk to me ever again." He looks up at you, obviously disagreeing with your words but all he says is "okay, once and then never again." A ping of heartbreak hit you, he was willing to never speak to you again. But you push it aside and place your lips on his, slowly grinding against his jeans causing a wet spot to form. He flips you both over and discards your skirt and panties. He starts kissing down your body, in between your thighs, you gasp and grab hold of his hair. "Doesn't matter how many times we end up here, i'll always devour you." His words meant nothing to you now knowing after this, you wouldn't see him again. You push his head in between your thighs and he immediately pushes his tongue through your folds. "Matt omg- fuck" you begin to moan loudly, no one can hear over the music. He laps his tongue through your folds before finding his way to your clit, kissing it passionately, not long after you clench around his tongue.
He moves away abruptly causing you to whimper at the loss of contact. "If this is the last time, i want this to last a while, i need you to cum in me." His words sent shivers down your spine. He moves back on top of you unzipping his jeans. "Condom." He grabs one from his drawer before putting it on and quickly pounding inside you. He was eager. You immediately become a moaning mess, he kisses you to keep you quiet. "Fuck- taking it so - mmm- so well" He continues to pound in and out of you, the bed frame underneath moving with the movements of his hips. "M-Matt, I'm not gonna last" You feel your stomach tightening around him, your walls clenching him. He throws his head to your neck sucking on the skin to quiet himself. Your hands run through his hair, pulling on it lightly. "One last time. One last time." He starts chanting it to get himself off, tears brim your eyes knowing that he's looking forward to this ending more than it happening. "Matt i'm gonna cum" You push your hips into him causing one last enjoyable ride before the both of you cum in unison. He rolls over panting. You quickly put your clothes back on without saying a word. "Where are you going?" "You said one last time, never again." "That doesn't mean you have to leave." You look at him. "You didn't enjoy that. You didn't want it like I did. I'm better off out of your hair anyways." "cmon i did want it. I just.. Maria-" You cut him off "Why her matt?! I was right here! waiting for you. and you... you chose her." He didn't say anything so you left.
You weren't sober enough to drive home so you walked... you'd come back for your car tomorrow.
A/N: I know this is bad.. it's literally my first time writing something like this so I'll take any feedback i cant get lol.

✨His true fate - Part 27/?✨
Summary: Jensen hasn't been happy for years. But it seems almost impossible for him to escape. After another nasty argument between him and his wife, he decides to visit his ´former´ best friend for his birthday. Back in Austin, an encounter awaits him that will turn his life completely upside down.
Pairing: Jensen x Reader
Warnings: Language, age gap, angst, Jensen being a dick
Word Count: 6679
A/N: English isn’t my first language, please be lenient. 💙
Tumblr media
The next day, you stayed back in the quiet comfort of the hotel room, not wanting to face Danneel again or deal with the tension that had hung in the air between her and Jensen. You trusted him, of course, but it didn’t make it any easier to watch her stir up old memories and forcefully insert herself into his world, especially in front of the fans, where the lines between public image and private life blurred so easily.
You tried to distract yourself with a book or a movie, but your thoughts kept drifting back to Jensen and the convention. You could already imagine how it was playing out. Danneel, ever the actress, would be putting on her show—the same one she had perfected over the years—smiling, laughing, and acting like they were still a picture-perfect couple in front of the fans. She knew exactly how to play the part, how to make things look polished and pleasant even when the truth was far more complicated.
Jensen had warned you about this, and you knew it wasn’t his fault. He had always tried to keep things as professional as possible. But that didn’t make it any easier to stomach. You could practically see it: her arm casually draped over his, that charming smile she flashed when the cameras were rolling. It was all part of the image she clung to, one she wasn’t quite ready to let go of.
Your phone buzzed on the nightstand, and you reached for it instinctively, hoping it might be Jensen giving you an update or reassuring you that the day was almost over. Instead, it was a notification from social media, one of those fan accounts that posted updates about the convention. Against your better judgment, you clicked on it.
There they were, just as you had imagined: Jensen and Danneel, standing side by side, answering questions with easy smiles. To the untrained eye, they looked like a team, two people who had spent years together and could read each other’s thoughts without saying a word. But you knew better. You could see the subtle tension in Jensen’s posture, the way his smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. He was playing his part, keeping things professional, but you knew how much this weighed on him.
Your chest tightened as you scrolled through more photos and clips. Danneel was milking the moment for all it was worth. The fans loved seeing them together—it was part of the nostalgia for them, the fantasy they had built around Jensen and Danneel’s relationship over the years. But you knew it was just that—a fantasy. One that had been shattered long ago.
You set your phone down, letting out a long breath. It was hard not to let it get to you, even though you knew the truth. Jensen loved you, and that was all that mattered. But Danneel’s hold on his public image, her refusal to let go of the past, made it difficult to fully shake off the feelings of insecurity that crept in.
As you sat there, lost in your thoughts, the door to the hotel room clicked open, and Jensen stepped inside. His expression was tired, his shoulders slumped from the weight of the day. He shut the door behind him and leaned against it for a moment, taking a deep breath before looking over at you.
“Hey”, he said softly, his voice carrying a mixture of exhaustion and relief. “Sorry it took so long”.
You stood up from the bed, walking over to him, your heart aching a little at the sight of how drained he looked. “It’s okay”, you said quietly, wrapping your arms around him in a comforting embrace. He held you close, resting his chin on top of your head as he let out a long, tired sigh.
“She did the same thing, didn’t she?”, you asked gently, already knowing the answer.
Jensen nodded against you. “Yeah”, he murmured. “Same show, same smiles. Acting like nothing’s changed”. He pulled back slightly, looking into your eyes. “I tried to keep my distance, but… you know how it is”.
Before you could say anything, Jensen sighed and spoke up again, his voice quieter, almost hesitant. “I agreed to have dinner with her tonight”, he said, his gaze dropping as if he already knew how you’d react. “She told me she wants to sort out the divorce stuff, said we need to get everything finalized”.
Your heart dropped, a sinking feeling settling into the pit of your stomach. You knew this wasn’t Jensen’s fault, but the idea of him sitting down to dinner with Danneel, especially after the way she had acted, made your chest tighten. It was hard to reconcile the thought of her pulling another show at dinner, perhaps trying to manipulate the situation under the guise of wanting to move forward.
You pulled back slightly, your brow furrowing as you raised an eyebrow, skepticism creeping into your voice. “You believe her?”, you mumbled, the words coming out almost automatically.
Jensen’s face showed his frustration—both with the situation and likely with himself.
Jensen hesitated, his brow furrowing as he ran a hand through his hair in frustration. He let out a deep sigh, as if trying to gather his thoughts before speaking again. “Not really”, he mumbled, his voice low, laced with frustration and weariness. “Especially not after how she acted yesterday… and today. But I have to try. I have to at least try to talk some sense into her, you know? We need to get this done. I need it to be over”.
He looked at you, his eyes filled with exhaustion and something deeper—perhaps regret, or maybe just the weight of everything that had been building up. You knew he wasn’t going into this dinner with any real hope that it would resolve things, but you also understood his need to confront the situation head-on, to try and take control of it. He was tired of being pulled into Danneel’s manipulations, and you could sense how much he wanted to be done with it all, for his sake and for yours.
You sighed softly, letting your hand fall to your side, trying to push away the sinking feeling in your chest. “I know”, you said quietly, your voice filled with understanding despite the discomfort you felt. “You’re right. You have to try, but… just be careful. She knows how to push your buttons, Jensen”.
He nodded, his expression softening as he stepped closer to you, his hand reaching out to gently cup your cheek. “I know she does”, he admitted, his thumb brushing lightly across your skin. “But I’m not the same person I was when we were together. I’m not going to let her twist this. Not anymore”.
You nodded, biting your lip as you tried to suppress the wave of frustration that threatened to bubble up. It wasn’t fair—not to either of you—but you knew this was something Jensen needed to do to move forward. Still, it was hard not to feel a little upset, knowing that once again, Danneel was stealing away more time that should have been yours.
“When are you leaving for dinner?”, you asked quietly, your voice softer than you intended, the question weighed down by the emotions you were trying to keep in check.
Jensen hesitated for a moment, looking down at the floor before meeting your gaze again. “I’m gonna grab a quick shower”, he mumbled, his tone almost apologetic. “Then I’ll head out”.
You nodded again, trying to keep your face neutral, though you knew he could sense the tension lingering in the air. The truth was, you hated that this was happening at all—that Danneel still had this much influence over the course of your lives, pulling Jensen away when all you wanted was to have a quiet evening together.
"I’ll try to make it quick, I promise", Jensen said softly, his hand brushing against your cheek as he leaned in to kiss you. His lips were warm and reassuring, but the brief contact did little to ease the knot of frustration tightening in your chest. Still, you appreciated his effort to make this easier, even though it was a situation neither of you wanted to be in.
When he pulled back, his gaze lingered on yours for a moment longer, as if silently asking for your understanding. You gave him a small nod, doing your best to offer him a supportive smile, even if it didn’t fully reach your eyes.
With a deep sigh, Jensen turned and headed toward the bathroom, his footsteps slow and deliberate, as if the weight of the evening ahead was pressing down on him. You watched him go, your mind racing with the what-ifs and the unease that had been simmering since he first mentioned the dinner.
Once the bathroom door clicked shut, you sat back down on the edge of the bed, your fingers absentmindedly playing with the corner of the blanket. You couldn’t shake the feeling of helplessness that lingered, knowing that no matter how much you trusted Jensen, there was still a part of Danneel’s influence that remained. You just wished she didn’t have the power to pull him away like this, even if it was for something that needed to be resolved.
The sound of the shower running broke the silence in the room, and you let out a long, slow breath, trying to gather your thoughts. You knew Jensen didn’t want to go, and deep down, you believed that he would handle the situation with Danneel as carefully and quickly as possible. But it didn’t make it any easier to sit here, waiting, while she once again took up space in your lives.
You glanced at your phone, considering texting a friend or turning on a movie to distract yourself while he was gone, but nothing seemed to hold your interest. The thought of him sitting across from Danneel, dealing with her manipulations, only made your stomach twist.
Eventually, the shower stopped, and moments later, Jensen emerged from the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist and his hair damp. He gave you a small, apologetic smile as he grabbed his clothes, getting ready for the dinner he clearly wasn’t looking forward to.
“I really will try to make it quick”, he said again, his voice softer this time, as if he could sense the tension in the room.
You stood up, crossing the space between you. “I know”, you replied quietly. “I trust you. Just… don’t let her get under your skin, okay?”.
Jensen nodded before pulling you into his arms for a tight hug. “I won’t”, he promised, his breath warm against your hair. “I just want to get this done so we can finally move on”.
You held him close for a moment, soaking in his warmth and the reassurance of his presence before pulling back slightly to look up at him. “I’ll be here when you get back”, you said softly, your voice filled with quiet determination.
Jensen smiled, leaning down to kiss you one more time, this time slower, as if trying to convey everything he couldn’t put into words. “Thank you”, he whispered against your lips before pulling back and grabbing his clothes to get dressed.
As you watched him get ready, you couldn’t help but feel a mixture of emotions—love, frustration, and a deep hope that this would be the last time Danneel would have the power to disrupt your lives.
Jensen finished getting dressed, giving you one last reassuring look before heading toward the door. He grabbed his jacket, slinging it over himself with a heavy sigh, clearly dreading what was ahead. You stood near the bed, watching him, and although the air between you was filled with tension, there was also a silent understanding.
“I’ll be back soon”, he promised again, his voice steady despite the exhaustion lining his features.
You nodded, offering him a small, but genuine smile. “I’ll be here”.
Jensen gave you a final look before opening the door and stepping out into the hallway. The sound of the door clicking shut behind him echoed in the quiet room, leaving you standing in the stillness, feeling the weight of the moment.
As Jensen made his way through the hotel, his thoughts were a whirlwind. He hated that this was necessary, hated that Danneel still had this much control over his life. The divorce proceedings had been dragging on far too long, and every encounter with her left him feeling like he was being pulled back into a past he was trying to leave behind. But tonight, he hoped, would finally put an end to the ongoing strain.
He stepped out into the cool evening air, heading toward the nearby hotel where Danneel was staying. The streets were quiet, save for the occasional car passing by, and the brisk air helped clear his mind as he walked. His phone buzzed in his pocket, and for a brief second, he hoped it was you—just a quick message of reassurance. But it was a notification about the dinner reservation he had made earlier.
As he approached the hotel, Jensen paused for a moment outside, taking a deep breath. He knew this conversation was going to be difficult, but it had to be done. He wanted to be free of this constant tug-of-war, not just for himself, but for you—for the life the two of you were trying to build together.
Entering the hotel, he made his way to Danneel’s room. The halls were quiet, his footsteps the only sound echoing off the polished floors. When he finally reached her door, he hesitated for a moment before knocking.
It didn’t take long for the door to open, revealing Danneel, dressed for dinner, a smile already fixed on her face as if she had been expecting this to be just another one of their forced public outings. “Hey”, she said, her tone a little too casual, her eyes sweeping over him like she was still trying to read him.
Jensen nodded stiffly, keeping his emotions in check. “Ready to go?”, he asked, his voice flat, clearly not in the mood for small talk. He wasn’t here for pleasantries—he was here to get things finalized, to talk about the divorce, and to finally draw a line.
Danneel’s smile faltered for a second, but she quickly recovered, stepping out into the hallway and locking the door behind her. “Yeah, let’s get this over with”, she replied, though there was an edge to her tone, as if she wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from the evening.
The two of them walked down the hallway in silence, the tension between them thick. As they made their way to the restaurant, Jensen kept his focus ahead, trying not to let Danneel’s presence get under his skin. But it was hard not to feel the weight of all the unresolved emotions from their past, lingering like a shadow over them.
When they arrived at the restaurant, they were seated at a private table, away from the other diners. Jensen sat down across from Danneel, his hands resting on the table as he looked her in the eyes. “We need to talk”, he said, his voice calm but firm.
Danneel raised an eyebrow, a small smirk playing on her lips. “Oh, so it’s one of those dinners”, she replied, leaning back in her chair as if she had expected this all along.
Jensen rolled his eyes, a deep grumble escaping his chest as he leaned back in his chair, clearly irritated by her tone. “What else should it be?”, he replied, his voice edged with frustration. “You said it yourself—you wanted to talk about the divorce”.
Danneel’s eyes narrowed, her expression hardening as she leaned forward, her voice dropping to a sharp hiss. “Yeah, because this whole thing is fucking stupid, Jensen. We shouldn’t even be here, having this conversation in the first place”. Her words were laced with anger, though whether it was directed at him or the situation itself, he couldn’t quite tell.
Just as the tension between them reached a boiling point, the waiter appeared at the side of their table, cutting through the thick silence. “Good evening”, he said politely, completely unaware of the storm brewing at the table. “Are you ready to order?”.
Jensen took a breath, forcing himself to pull back from the edge of the argument that had been brewing. He glanced at Danneel, who also seemed to hesitate, her sharp expression softening just slightly as she leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms.
Jensen clenched his jaw, the tension still thick between them as he tried to regain his composure. He glanced at the menu briefly, knowing full well this wasn’t about the food but about getting through the conversation ahead. He pointed to something simple. “I’ll have the steak, medium rare”, he said curtly, handing the menu back to the waiter without much thought.
Danneel, however, took her time, her eyes scanning the menu with a deliberate slowness that was more about making a point than actually deciding on what she wanted. She always did this—choosing the most expensive items as if it were some kind of statement, a power play. After a few moments, she finally made her choice, her voice smooth but dripping with an edge of entitlement.
“I’ll take the lobster”, she said, without so much as glancing up from the menu. “And a glass of your best white wine”. She handed the menu back to the waiter, her gaze flicking to Jensen briefly, as if daring him to react.
Jensen didn’t rise to the bait. He just nodded to the waiter, signaling that was all, and sat back in his chair, trying to keep the conversation focused on what actually mattered.
Once the waiter left, Danneel crossed her arms again, her expression shifting into something more pointed. “So, you think this is all just going to magically resolve itself, Jensen? Like signing a few papers will make all of this disappear?”.
Jensen let out a slow breath, his eyes steady as he met her gaze. “No, I don’t think it’s going to be easy. But dragging this out, fighting over every little thing, isn’t helping anyone. Especially not the kids. This isn’t about us anymore, Danneel. It’s about doing what’s best for them”.
Her lips curled into a bitter smile. “Is that what you’re telling yourself? That this is all for the kids?”. She leaned forward slightly, her eyes narrowing. “Or is it about you and your new life—your new little girlfriend—moving on without any complications?”.
Jensen’s fists clenched under the table, but he kept his voice level. “It’s not about her”, he said firmly.
“Oh, really? It’s not about her?”, Danneel scoffed, her voice low but sharp. “Funny how you spent years throwing around the idea of divorce but never actually went through with it. Then suddenly, some chick spreads her legs for you willingly, and you can’t file those papers fast enough”.
Jensen rolled his eyes, trying to stay calm, but the irritation was beginning to simmer just below the surface. He didn’t want to engage in this petty back-and-forth, but Danneel was determined to push buttons, and she knew exactly which ones to press.
“Who is she, anyway?”, Danneel asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she leaned forward. “What’s her deal? How old is she? Some young thing looking for a trophy? What’s she after? Or is this your midlife crisis?”.
Jensen’s jaw clenched as he fought to keep his cool. He had expected some jabs, but this was heading into personal territory he had no intention of indulging her in. “Danneel, stop”, he said firmly, his voice low but steady. “This isn’t about her. And you don’t need to know anything about her because that’s not why we’re here”.
Danneel raised an eyebrow, her smirk widening as she sensed she had hit a nerve. “Come on, Jensen, I’m just curious. You can’t blame me for wondering who this new woman is that’s got you so eager to ditch your family and finally move on”. Her tone was mocking, and there was a hint of cruelty in her words, as if she was trying to twist the knife deeper.
Jensen took a deep breath, exhaling slowly as he stared across the table at her. He had no intention of giving her any more fuel for her fire, but her words stung, not because of the jabs at him, but because of the disrespect she was showing toward you.
“I’m not ditching anyone”, he replied, his voice tight. “I’m still here for the kids, and I’ve done everything I can to be civil with you through this whole process. But this conversation isn’t about her, and I’m not going to entertain whatever you’re trying to pull”.
Danneel shrugged, picking up her wine glass and swirling it around lazily, her eyes still fixed on him. “Sure, fine, keep your secrets. But we both know you wouldn’t be so eager to wrap this up if she wasn’t in the picture”.
Jensen shook his head, the weight of the conversation growing heavier with every passing second. “I’m doing this because it’s the right thing to do”, he said, his voice steady.
“So, what’s your grand plan, huh?”, she sneered, her voice dripping with disdain. “You gonna move across the street from her? Take the kids every other weekend while you play house with your new little girlfriend? Because I’ll tell you right now, I don’t want some bimbo being involved with my kids”.
Jensen had expected pushback, maybe even some bitterness, but this attack was directed not just at him but at you and the life he was trying to build. And that was something he wouldn’t tolerate.
He leaned forward slightly, his voice low and controlled, but carrying a sharp edge. “Don’t ever call her that again”, he said, the anger barely contained. “This isn’t about playing house. You and I both know that I love my kids, and nothing is going to change that. I’ve been here for them every step of the way, and I will continue to be, regardless of what’s happening between us”.
Danneel snorted at his words, a cruel chuckle escaping her lips. “Oh, come on, Jensen. You love your kids?”, she mocked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Like you’ve been gone most of the time. Don’t make me laugh. You’re always off somewhere—filming, conventions, whatever excuse you can find to stay away. And even when you could be home, you chose to stay away because of me. So don’t sit here and act like you’re some perfect father”.
Her words stung, and deep down, Jensen knew there was a kernel of truth to what she was saying. His job kept him away more than he wanted, and there had been times, especially toward the end of their marriage, when he had avoided coming home because of the toxic environment between them. The distance between him and Danneel had felt suffocating, and staying away had seemed like the easier choice at the time, even if it meant missing more time with the kids.
But he wasn’t going to let her use that against him now. He had been working hard to show up when it mattered most, and he wasn’t going to let her twist his efforts to fit her narrative.
Jensen’s eyes hardened, but his voice remained calm, though laced with a quiet intensity. “I’ve made mistakes”, he admitted, not shying away from her accusations. “I was gone a lot, and yeah, maybe I avoided coming home because of the way things were between us. But don’t you dare try to make it seem like I don’t care about my kids, Danneel. I’ve always been there for them when they needed me, and that’s not going to change. No matter what happened between us”.
Danneel’s expression faltered for a second, as if she hadn’t expected him to admit any fault. She opened her mouth as if to argue further but then closed it, seemingly unsure of how to respond to his blunt honesty.
He leaned forward slightly, his voice softening but staying firm. “I’m not perfect. I never claimed to be. But the kids are my priority, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure they’re okay. We both need to do that. This divorce isn’t just about us—it’s about doing what’s right for them. We need to be able to co-parent without tearing each other apart, or trying to make the other one feel like they’re failing”.
Danneel rolled her eyes, her arms crossing tighter over her chest as she mumbled, “You’re so dramatic, Jensen”. Her tone was dismissive, as if she was trying to downplay everything he had just said. But Jensen could see through the act—beneath the bitterness and sarcasm, there was something else, something unresolved that she wasn’t ready to face.
Jensen sighed, leaning back in his chair, his gaze steady. “I’m not being dramatic, Danneel. I’m just telling you the truth. We can’t keep doing this—taking jabs at each other, dragging this out. It’s not good for anyone, least of all the kids”.
Danneel scoffed, though there was a hint of hesitation in her expression now. “Yeah, well, maybe it’s easy for you to say that. You’ve got your shiny new life all figured out, don’t you? Must be nice to have everything fall into place for you”.
Jensen shook his head, a tired look crossing his face. “It’s not about things falling into place. It’s about making the right choices, about trying to do better—for them, for myself. I know this isn’t easy for you, but it hasn’t been easy for me either. I’m not trying to pretend that everything’s perfect”.
“How about we ask the kids what they think about this divorce?”, she said, her words sharp and pointed. There was a hint of desperation behind her words, though she masked it with bitterness.
Jensen’s stomach tightened at the mention of the kids, but he refused to let his frustration show. He knew that dragging their children into this mess wasn’t the answer, and it wasn’t fair to put them in the middle of something they didn’t fully understand.
“No”, Jensen replied firmly, his tone calm but resolute. “We’re not doing that. This isn’t something we put on them. They’re kids, Danneel. They shouldn’t have to carry the weight of our decisions”.
Danneel rolled her eyes again, though her shoulders slumped slightly. “Of course you’d say that. You’re the one who wants this. You think you’re protecting them, but maybe they deserve to know why their dad’s never around”.
Before Jensen could respond, Danneel’s eyes darkened, and she leaned in even further, her voice dripping with venom. “Like last week when JJ asked why her daddy is gone for weeks again? Maybe next time I’ll tell her the truth, Jensen. That her daddy’s fucking another woman across the states instead of spending time with his kids”.
Jensen’s entire body tensed, the weight of her words hitting him like a punch to the gut. His jaw clenched, and for a moment, he felt the familiar surge of anger rise up, threatening to boil over. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay calm. This wasn’t the time to lash out, even though the accusation cut deep.
“Danneel, don’t”, Jensen said quietly, his voice firm but controlled. “Just stop it”.
Before the conversation could escalate further, the waiter approached, interrupting the heavy tension at the table. He carried their food, oblivious to the storm brewing between them. His polite smile only served to make the moment more awkward.
“Here we are”, the waiter said cheerfully, setting down their plates with a practiced grace. “Steak for you, sir, and the lobster for the lady”. He placed their drinks down as well, his gaze flicking between them, perhaps sensing the palpable tension in the air. “Is there anything else I can get for you?”.
Jensen forced a tight smile, shaking his head. “No, that’ll be all for now”, he muttered, his voice a little rougher than usual.
Danneel simply nodded, her eyes glued to the table, not bothering to look up at the waiter. The man hesitated for a second, perhaps sensing that this was not the time for any further pleasantries, before quickly retreating from the table, leaving them alone once again.
As soon as he was gone, the brief respite provided by the waiter’s interruption evaporated, and the air between them thickened once more.
Jensen clenched his fists under the table, fighting to keep his composure. He glanced at the steak on his plate but had no appetite anymore. “What are you trying to do, Danneel? What’s the point of saying something like that?”.
Danneel chuckled bitterly, her lips curling into a tight, humorless smile. She leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms as her eyes met his with a coldness that stung. “There’s no going back from that, Jensen”, she mumbled, her voice dripping with venom. “You sure you know what you’re leaving behind? What you’re throwing away?”.
Jensen’s heart tightened, but he kept his expression steady, though his mind raced. He had spent countless nights agonizing over the decisions that led them to this point, wondering if there had been any other way, any better outcome. But this wasn’t about second-guessing himself anymore—he knew the marriage had been over long before he ever made the decision to leave.
He didn’t flinch as he responded, his voice firm but quiet. “I’m not throwing anything away, Danneel. I’ve spent years trying to fix this, trying to make it work—for you, for the kids, for our image. But we both know it’s been broken for a long time”.
Danneel scoffed, shaking her head as she took a long sip of her wine.
The back-and-forth between Jensen and Danneel continued for over an hour, neither fully willing to back down but both running out of the venom that had filled the earlier part of their conversation. Every attempt Jensen made to keep the discussion focused on moving forward was met with another jab, another comment meant to sting. And while Jensen had braced himself for this—knowing Danneel would never make it easy—the emotional exhaustion was beginning to weigh heavily on him.
By the time the meal was over, neither had touched much of their food. Jensen, as always, was the one to flag down the waiter and quietly request the check. He paid without hesitation, though the thought of paying for yet another strained interaction made his stomach turn. When the check was settled, he stood up, pushing back his chair, and gave Danneel a small nod. She followed him silently as they made their way out of the restaurant and into the cool night air.
Outside, the street was quiet, the hum of distant traffic the only sound that filled the space between them. They both stood there for a moment, the awkwardness thick as they waited for the taxis to arrive. Jensen shoved his hands into his pockets, his mind racing with the events of the evening. He’d hoped for more progress, more resolution, but instead, the conversation had felt like running in circles—every step forward pulled back by more resistance, more bitterness.
Finally, one of the taxis pulled up to the curb, its headlights cutting through the darkness. As Danneel moved to step forward, she hesitated, turning back to face Jensen.
“I’ll think about it”, she mumbled, her voice flat, almost dismissive. She was, of course, referring to signing the divorce papers, the one thing Jensen needed her to do in order to truly move forward.
But it was the smirk that followed her words that made his heart sink. It was small, almost imperceptible, but it was there—a flicker of amusement or control, the subtle reminder that this wasn’t over. Not yet. Not by a long shot.
Jensen’s jaw clenched, but he didn’t let himself react. He had learned long ago that showing frustration only gave Danneel more power. Instead, he nodded, keeping his voice calm and neutral. “Take the time you need”, he said, even though every part of him wanted to push her for a concrete answer.
Danneel gave him one last look, her smirk still playing on her lips as she turned and climbed into the taxi. The door slammed shut behind her, and within moments, the car pulled away, disappearing down the street.
Jensen stood there for a moment, watching the taxi until it was out of sight, the weight of the evening pressing down on him. He let out a long breath, running a hand through his hair, trying to shake off the tension that had built up during the dinner. He had known this wouldn’t be easy. He had prepared himself for resistance. But something about the way Danneel held onto her control, even in the smallest of ways, made him feel like he was still stuck in the same exhausting loop.
Another taxi pulled up for him, and he climbed in silently, giving the driver the address of his hotel. As the car pulled away from the curb, Jensen stared out the window, his mind drifting to you. He had wanted tonight to be the turning point, the moment when things finally started moving toward resolution. But instead, it felt like another delay, another hurdle to overcome.
Still, he reminded himself, this was part of the process. It wasn’t going to be quick or easy, but he was determined to see it through. He needed this chapter to close—for the kids, for himself, and for you.
As the taxi rolled through the city streets, Jensen leaned back against the seat, the exhaustion settling deep in his bones. It had been a long night, and though it hadn’t ended the way he had hoped, he knew that eventually, this would be behind him. And when it was, he could finally look ahead to a future free of the weight of the past.
And that, he reminded himself, was worth every difficult step along the way.
Meanwhile, you were snuggled under the covers, the soft glow of the TV casting flickering light across the room. You had put on a movie to pass the time, but your focus had been scattered, your thoughts lingering on Jensen and how the dinner with Danneel was going. You knew it wouldn’t be easy for him—confronting old wounds was never simple—and you had been anxious, waiting for him to return so you could offer whatever support he needed.
When the door to the hotel room finally opened, you felt a rush of relief at the sound, a soft smile spreading across your face as you sat up slightly, expecting to see Jensen’s familiar, if exhausted, expression. But when he stepped inside, something was different. His movements were stiff, his face hard and closed off. He didn’t meet your eyes as he shrugged off his jacket and tossed it onto the chair, his posture tense.
“Hey”, you greeted softly, trying to gauge his mood. “How did it go?”.
Jensen barely glanced in your direction as he muttered, “It was fine”, his voice gruff, almost dismissive. He was already making his way over to the table, pouring himself a glass of water, his back turned to you.
You frowned slightly, sensing the tension in his shoulders, the way his words didn’t quite match the energy in the room. “Are you sure?”, you asked gently, turning down the volume on the TV. “You seem a little—”.
“I said it was fine”, Jensen interrupted, sharper than you were expecting. He set the glass down with a bit too much force, the sound clattering in the quiet room. “I’m just tired, alright?”.
With a sharp sigh, Jensen started to undress, his movements rushed and frustrated. He yanked off his dress shirt and tossed it aside, the tension in his body radiating off him in waves. You could tell he was holding in so much more than he was willing to say. His hands moved to his belt, but as he struggled to undo the buckle, his frustration mounted. The leather refused to cooperate, and after a few more fumbling attempts, something inside him snapped.
“Fucking shit!”, he growled, yanking at the belt with a sudden burst of anger. His face tightened, and he let out a bitter curse under his breath. For a moment, the room was filled with the heavy tension of his frustration, and you could feel the weight of everything he had been carrying crashing down on him in that one small moment.
You instinctively sat up further, your heart clenching as you watched him unravel. “Jensen…”, you called softly, but he wasn’t listening. He was lost in his own frustration, the exhaustion and emotional strain of the night clearly getting the better of him.
He yanked at the belt again, finally managing to pull it free, but not without another angry mutter escaping his lips. “Motherf- ..", he threw the belt onto the chair with force and stood there for a moment, his hands on his hips, his chest rising and falling as he tried to steady his breathing.
You could see that this wasn’t about the stupid belt. It was about everything—the dinner with Danneel, the emotional toll of the ongoing divorce, and the pressure he felt to keep it all together for everyone, including you. He was unraveling, and it broke your heart to see him like this.
Slowly, you slipped out of bed, making your way over to him. You approached carefully, not wanting to startle him or make him feel cornered, but wanting to offer comfort in any way you could.
As you approached Jensen, your heart aching at the sight of him struggling under the weight of everything he was dealing with, you reached out to touch his shoulder gently. You wanted to offer comfort, to let him know that he wasn’t alone in this fight.
But in that moment, Jensen seemed to snap back to reality, his frustration boiling over. With a swift movement, he slapped your hand away, the action surprising you both. “Don’t!”, he snapped, the edge in his voice cutting through the tension in the air like a knife.
You recoiled slightly, a mix of hurt and confusion washing over you. “Jensen, I just wanted to—”.
“I don’t need this right now”, he interrupted, his tone harsh as he turned away from you, striding purposefully toward the bathroom. The door clicked shut behind him with a finality that felt heavy in the small space.

၄၃ Word Count: 1.3k
Tumblr media
Like almost everyone on the planet on January 1st, I vowed to go to the gym. I've never been too concerned with my figure, I know that my size doesn't determine my worth or beauty but it does hurt my ego that the little 12-year-olds I babysit can carry more bags of groceries into the house than I can.
To prepare I bought a gym membership. I wanted to do pilates but the only classes were for rich stay-at-home moms with disposable incomes which I couldn't afford so I stuck to a cheap little gym membership. For Christmas, many of my friends and family bought me gym equipment and clothing to help jumpstart and keep me encouraged to go, as I don't want to feel as though I've wasted their money.
I procrastinated for a few days going under the guise of wanting to "avoid the rush on newcomers" when in reality I saw a couple of TikToks poking fun at the newcomers that come in January and don't know what they are doing then flake by February and it made me feel bad.
I want this to be serious I need to get stronger and improve physically.
I was on a downward spiral of insecurity about my skill or lack thereof when I saw an ad on Instagram advertising affordable trainers for newbie gym-goers.
Trying to cash in on the rush I see. I decided to click the link and check it out. If it's a scam, I'll just click out anyway.
I was greeted with a nicely arranged and professional-looking website. In the corner, I saw a badge that proudly announces 5 years of business. Must not be a scam after all I thought. I continue to look through the website partly due to boredom but also in part due to curiosity.
I click on a button that says "Personalize your workout and get a coach!" I fill it out completely and honestly because I could get help from someone who knows way more about exercise than I do. I'd rather cough up a few extra dollars every month and reach my goals rather than accidentally injure myself and never go back.
After a few moments of waiting for results it tells me I'm a complete novice, no duh, I thought. I should start with a completely basic workout to get me started but not overdo it. it gives me a couple of options for trainers who specialize in training newbies.
"Ew, they are all creepy-looking old guys." There was a fleck of disappointment in my tone. I kept looking though just to see if there wasn't anyone... geriatric looking. Then I see her.
A beautiful brown-skinned woman, at least 6 feet tall who is absolutely ripped. A calm, yet slightly authoritative look took over her face. After a moment of just staring at her pictures, I read her description.
Hi, I'm Sevika. I’m 37 and have been exercising since I was a teenager so I know a thing or two about properly exercising and targeting the right muscle groups. Message me if you're interested in having me train you. Short and sweet, huh? I thought to myself after reading her quite short bio. I didn't even give it much of a second thought as I clicked her to be my coach and sent a deposit to lock it in. Then, promptly passed out as it was well past 2 am and I still had to work tomorrow.
Tumblr media
After leaving work I came home and got ready to go to the gym. I had been briefly texting Sevika to set up meeting times for the weeks to come. To my disappointment, all her messages were short and to the point. we agreed every two days a week to keep it simple enough but to too hardcore to burn myself out, or my wallet.
I checked my new fitness watch to see what time it was and saw that I was cutting it close to when I had to meet her. From her messages, she seems very no-nonsense and wouldn't appreciate it if I was late for our first meeting. Not that I want to waste any time getting to see her.
After a short car ride, I go inside, get my new membership card to sign in, and then walk into the gym part. I look around a little anxious. all these people and these frankly daunting-looking equipment make me second guess myself, everyone looks like they know what they're doing what if they're secretly judging me for being new? Right as I'm gonna say fuck it and take the L of losing out on some money I hear a voice from my right call out my name.
I whip my head around to see who could be calling me I see her in all her glory.
Those pictures did not do her justice.
She's even more breathtaking in person. Before I can go on and keep staring at her she makes her way over to me with a natural swagger in her walk. I can't stop staring at her muscles that poke through her tight gray shirt. As she comes closer someone stops to dap her up. "Big Mama is back huh? haven't seen you in a bit." Big Mama is right. "Took a break to give you losers a chance to catch up to me, obviously it didn't help much." They both have a slight chuckle, Sevika pats them on their back and walks past them with a promise to hit them up later.
She finally walks up to me and gives me a quick look up and down and smirks slightly. “So you're the newbie I'll be training for the next couple of weeks huh?” I give a flushed smile and nod a tad too fast, “Yup, that's me, I'm excited to get back into the gym!” She gives me a bigger smirk at this. “I'm excited to have you here.” she leaves a lingering look at my lips that quickly goes down to my hips and back up to my eyes. She leads me towards the middle of the gym.
We discussed my reasons for exercising, and she mapped out a plan of action for my exercises. She also promised to send me a meal plan to follow to further my exercise journey.
“Alright let's start with some basic arm exercises since you're focused on strength in your upper body.” She led me to a bench and instructed me to bend over it with one arm supporting and one arm lifting the dumbbell.
As I moved she watched softly correcting my form but her hands lingered perhaps just a bit to long. I kept up doing several different low-impact strength training all of which Sevika kept a close eye and even closer hand on me to correct my form.
As time seemingly stretched on for ages, I finally completed my exercise routine for the day. As I gulped down my water rather quickly, her voice broke me from my exhausted daze.
“Well, judging by your dehydration and sweat on your brow, you definitely got in a good workout.” Her chuckle at the end of her statement brought over a rush of embarrassment, and I quickly tried to wipe any sweat off myself and calm down my rapid breath. So much for not trying to embarrass myself in front of her.
“Oh my god, I must look insane right now, just give me a moment to compose myself!” I say hurriedly trying to fix my hair and save face in front of her. She reaches out and grabs my hand, “No need to be embarrassed I think you look real good all sweaty in front of me.” Her grip on my arm and her words makes me look up at her and see the sultry look in her eyes.
“How about I take you into the locker room and help you… freshen up.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With summer break approaching, the school is constantly informing, or rather aggressively reminding parents about their end-of-year fundraiser. Wanda avoided the event last year because she was still deep in her depression and consumed by grief. The last thing she wanted to do was attend the same event her ex-husband and his beautiful young wife were at, especially at a time when she could barely get the motivation to get dressed up. Agatha tried to get her to come but she eventually gave up. Now that it's coming up, she can't help but think about the difference the possibility of meeting you sooner would have affected her life. Not knowing that you also avoided attending the event last year as well.
“Mom!” The boys cheer as they run up to her at pick up. They give her tight hugs. It's not her week with them but Vision called her during his lunch to explain that things are tense at home and the boys have been asking to stay with her. She held back from commenting on his pattern of cheating and creating hostile environments in his own home. She doesn't need to fight with him or try to involve herself in his personal life again. All she needs to do is worry about her children. It's something that her therapist suggested and it's been helpful in these past several months.
“Ugh, I hope you boys never grow up!” She grins as she holds them tightly. She doesn't want to see them tall and ignoring her as teenagers. She doesn't think she can handle the rejection. She likes them small and adoring her.
“Ms. Wanda!” Rachel runs towards them instead of her mom who is standing a few feet away. She joins in on the hug. “Is Tommy and Billy's daddy on a trip again?” She says as she looks up at Wanda.
Wanda laughs, “Something like that. Where's your mom?” She looks around the playground until she finds Jean walking towards them.
“Hey! It's been a while since I've seen you,” she greets happily. Wanda has to pretend like she doesn't know the stunt that Jean tried to pull several months ago. The last thing she heard about your situation with your ex-wife was that things were getting better since the two of you started to focus on Rachel. Wanda thought that it was great that the two of you were getting along again, but she wasn’t quick to forgive what Jean tried to do to you.
“Hey, Jean! It has been too long,” Wanda greets politely. Rachel steps away from Wanda and greets her mom with a hug that is just as tight. “How is everything?”
“Oh I'm sure Y/n keeps you well informed,” Jean replies. It was true for the months that you were single and a couple of months after you found out about the weirdest kidnapping she'd ever heard of. But it hasn't been true for some time. Wanda is lucky if she can get an update on your life as it is. You have been occupying most of your time with Nebula. If it weren't for a couple of orders coming in from your online shop, she wouldn't see you at all.
Unfortunately, even though you're working in her backyard on the weekends, the two of you don't talk much. She isn't sure if it's you pulling away or her but it hurt either way.
“Not really,” Wanda says without her expression wavering.
“Oh! Um, I've been doing well. How-How  have you been?” She asks as she runs her fingers through Rachel's hair.
“I've been really great lately, yeah,” Wanda looks down at the boys with a soft smile. “I keep getting extra time with my boys which is fantastic.” She looks up at Jean again. Her eyes do a small scan of the woman. She is in her work attire but there is a coffee stain on her shirt that is poking out of her blazer. She has dark circles under her eyes. She looks tired even with a smile on her face. “We should catch up sometime,” Wanda says politely. Jean looks like she could use a friend. Thinking of it now, other than you, Wanda isn't sure that she's heard of Jean having friends. Maybe she has friends with her wife? She isn't sure. And right now, you're not in the best position to be her friend.
“I'd like that a lot,” Jean replies. Her smartwatch starts to buzz and she sighs. “Work is calling. I have to get going. Come on love bug,” she takes Rachel's hand and starts walking towards the parking lot.
“Are you guys ready to go home?” Wanda asks her kids and they both nod. She guides them out to her car in the parking lot.
You are sitting alone on your couch on a Friday night thinking about Wanda. You've been doing everything that you can to give yourself some space from her. Nebula eventually asked about your friendship with Wanda during one of your dates with her months ago. The two of you were eating gelaties, a flavored Italian ice with frozen custard on top. You were enjoying the sweet flavors of mango ice combined with vanilla custard as well as the smooth textures of the treat. There wasn't a treat quite like it. Nebula was enjoying their blue raspberry ice topped with cotton candy-flavored custard.
“So, are you and Wanda just friends?” She asked seemingly out of the blue. You weren't sure where the question was coming from. At the moment, you ran through every conversation you'd had with Nebula until that point to see if you mentioned Wanda more than you should have. But you can't come up with a number.
“Truthfully?” You asked as you mixed the vanilla custard further into the mango ice.
“No, lie to me,” she quipped with a slight smirk.
“Okay, fair enough,” you took a deep breath. “I've considered becoming more than friends with her. But it was complicated. Then she made it less complicated when she rejected me.” You didn't want to lie to her the way that you were lying to Daisy. It nearly killed you during that time.
Nebula got quiet and her smirk disappeared. Even with the shop being busy with other customers ordering. Chats happened at the surrounding tables. Everything felt still in her silence. Everyone seemed to vanish completely, leaving only the two of you, sitting in an empty Rita’s alone.
You watched her as you swirled your spoon around in your cup. She seemed to be in deep thought. You felt a slight panic tighten your chest and churn your stomach.
“Is that a problem?” You finally asked.
Nebula’s distinctive eyes connected with yours again. “No,” she answered.
You couldn't tell if she was being honest or not. But you didn't question her. You just made a promise to yourself that you weren't going to allow your feelings to continue to grow for Wanda. A task that was easier said than done.
You started small. Ignoring a text from her here and there. Well, not completely ignoring them. You just wouldn't respond as fast as you normally would. Then you stopped going by as much. Rachel's therapy appointments made it easier to stay away from Wanda’s for some time. But eventually, you began to miss her. You would call her whenever you got a chance to check-in. Then you fell asleep talking to her on the phone one night and you had to pull back on that as well.
As fate would have it, you received two custom orders which meant you had to spend time at Wandas. She was excited when you told her that you had two projects to work on. The two of you embraced each other tightly. You closed your eyes and breathed her in. You missed her scent. You missed the way her body felt against yours. You missed her laugh. You missed her smile.
You had to build more boundaries. Whenever you came to work in the shed in the backyard, you never went through the house. Even if you had Rachel with you. She would walk through the front door and you would slip in through the gate on the side of the house. You’d bring lunch and you'd leave before dinner. Wanda never bothered you. She seemed to understand that the two of you needed time apart from each other.
The more you pushed yourself away from her. The more she invaded your every thought. You swore you could feel something pulling you towards her. It made nights like these difficult. Shortly after your conversation with her about Wanda, Nebula stated that the two of you were dating and non-exclusive. You were a little thrown off because you thought that she only wanted to see you. But you had to face the fact that she wasn't the only person you wanted to see. So you didn't get upset or argue. You accepted the status of the relationship. Nebula is on a date right now and all you want to do is be with Wanda. You wonder how much of her time Nebula is going to continue to waste on you.
You open and close your phone multiple times. Hoping for a message from someone, anyone, so that you can get your mind to stop thinking about Wanda and what she might be doing tonight. That's when your mind gets stuck on the idea that she also might be on a date with someone. To your knowledge, she doesn't have the kids this week so she's available.
You start to imagine her sitting in front of someone with her smile and it hurts. You don't want her to be with anyone else. But you do want her to be happy. You shake your head turn on the television and scroll through the streaming channels. You don't know what you're in the mood to watch.
You throw on a movie you've heard about for years but never got around to watching. Your stomach rumbles so you get up and go to the kitchen to make something. As you start cooking, you imagine Wanda coming up behind you and wrapping her arms around your waist. It's so real you can feel it. Then you try to picture anyone else but you can't. You've had moments like that with Jean and with Daisy. But you couldn't visually remember them. You close your eyes for a second and sigh as you think about Wanda leaning her head against your back. You think about how you would lift your arm to get her to slip under and rest her head on your chest. You think about how you would kiss her as she hugged you from the side.
The aroma of your food cooking snaps you out of the fantasy. You focus on cooking so that you don’t burn the building down daydreaming about your friend. As you sit in front of the television you realize that you left the movie playing so you start it from the beginning and pay attention while you eat.
As you watch the movie, you start to imagine Wanda curled up next to you watching the movie with you. When you try to get rid of that image and focus on the movie, your mind wanders back to what she is doing tonight. Who is she with? Is she seeing anyone? Is she back to hooking up with random people?
What if she was hooking up with you? You wonder.
As the couple in the movie confess their feelings to each other you stop paying attention and start to think about being in Wanda's house. The both of you a bit tipsy from the Sokovian vodka. Her favorite because it reminds her of her parents and their culture. You're making her laugh because she gets your sense of humor. Then there's a moment when her eyes connect with yours. And nothing is holding either of you back.
You kiss her and she holds your face to keep you close. You crawl closer to her and she falls back. You try to hover over her as you continue to kiss her but she pulls you on top of her because she wants you as close to her as possible. She needs you as close to her as possible.
You look down at your hands as you imagine what her breasts would feel like. How firm is it? How soft? Would she prefer that you squeeze it roughly or would she like a gentle massage? You lick your lips as you imagine her nipples. How hard they would be. You think about tracing them with your tongue. You wonder what her sweat would taste like.
You shove your hand in your pants to touch yourself as your mind continues to torture you with images of her. Your lips on her abdomen. The way her face would contort from the pleasure. Seeing how she might bite her lips to stifle her sighs. Your senses don't stop there. You start to hear her sighs. Her soft moans. Maybe she’d call out your name when you're doing something wrong. Or she'll beg you for more. You swear you can smell her now. Then finally, as you start to reach your climax, you imagine what her juices tastes like. You think about how you'd perform cunnilingus right then and there. Because there are no kids to worry about. No one to interrupt. It's just you and Wanda.
You reach your orgasm and breathe heavily as you come down from your high. The image of Wanda fades from your mind. You sit there for a moment. Reminding yourself of where you are. Then you feel disgusting. How could you think of your friend like that? She is your friend and nothing more. You quickly get up and go to your bathroom to wash your hands. You change your underwear and replace your jeans with sweatpants.
There wasn't a mess on the couch but you feel guilty for getting off on the couch your daughter watches her cartoons on and remove the covers on the cushions to throw in the wash. The movie’s credits roll and you flip on a random sitcom to try and lighten your mood. You sit on the single chair that matches your couch as you wait for the washer to be done.
You sigh as you think about what you need to change in your life. Then there is a knock on your door. You check your watch as you frown. It's pretty late. You rack your brain as you consider the possibilities of people on the other side of the door. There's another knock, this one a little more rapid. You get up and shut off the television. You peer through the peephole in the door before quickly opening it.
“Jean, what's wrong?” You ask as you let her and Rachel inside.
“Anna and I got in a really big argument and we just couldn't stay there,” Jean says as she walks through the door.
“Hey bug,” you smile at your confused and sleepy daughter. It was way past her bedtime and she was in her pajamas. You lift her in your arms and carry her to her bedroom. You tuck her into bed and close the door to her room. You look down at the door handle and sigh. You shake your head. You really hope this doesn't affect the progress that has been made over the last couple of months. You're going to contact her therapist in the morning after you get all of the details from Jean.
“What happened to your couch?” Jean asks as she takes your spot in the chair. She has makeup all over her face. Her eyes are bloodshot and her cheeks are puffy. You scan her face to look for any signs of a slap or worse. You don't see any and you hope, for your daughter's sanity, that Jean didn't strike Anna. She might not be as understanding of something like that.
“I spilled something on it and threw the covers in the wash,” you sit on the coffee table in front of her. You try to keep your gaze soft and stay patient. But you really needed to know what happened and why Jean thought it was a good idea to not only leave her home in the middle of an argument with her wife but stay at her ex’s for the night. Disrupting your daughter's sleep in the process.
She keeps her eyes locked on the stripped cushions on the couch. The corner of her mouth lifts. “Remember when we bought our first couch?” She starts softly and you can tell that her vocal chords are exhausted. You wonder how long she was in a screaming match with Anna. “It was white because it just had to be. It was the first big purchase we made with my discount at the store. Your grandma told us to wrap it in plastic and neither of us listened. We could hardly afford it at the time, but she offered to loan her set until we could.”
You nod as you remember exactly what memory she is thinking of. “I remember,” you say softly. “You refused because you thought it looked tacky. But Rachel was two and constantly walking and running around. That sofa was covered in so many different colors of food stains before the end of the year, it became an entirely new couch.” You start to laugh as you're reminded of how horrible the smell was. “Gosh it took us months to get rid of the smell even after we tossed the damn thing out.”
“Oh gosh,” Jean covers her face as she starts to laugh. “Don't remind me, I still sometimes think the smell is lingering in the house.” She moves her fingers through her hair and takes a deep breath. “Anna isn't so sure that she wants to be part of this family anymore,” Jean finally admits.
“I'm sure the two of you will work it out,” you say to comfort her. There isn't much else you can say to her about it. This isn't the first time that Anna has expressed wanting to leave Jean. A few weeks before their wedding, Anna had even disappeared for two days after an argument then came back as if nothing had happened. “Come on, I'll get you set up in my room. I'll take the couch,” you say as you offer her your hand while you stand up from the coffee table. Jean takes your hand with a small thank you.
“The argument was really bad. I know I shouldn't have left and I shouldn't have woken Rachel up but,” tears start to stream down Jean's cheeks again. “I just had to get out of there.” You nod and once you're in your room, you pull her in for a warm embrace.
“Jean, did you stop taking your medication when you decided you wanted a baby?” You ask softly as you continue to hold her. You don't want her to blow up at you for asking the question, so it's better to have her restrained in your arms.
She doesn't react the way you expect. She doesn't take offense to the question. She doesn't accuse you of trying to call her a bad mother. She doesn't deny having an episode. Jean breaks down into heavy sobs in your arms as she admits that both her and Anna decided to stop taking their medications just in case you came around to the idea. You hold her until she stops crying and leave her tucked into your bed. When the cushion covers are done washing, you throw them in the dryer and watch TV until they're done so that you don't have to worry about fixing up the cushions in the morning.
You pull out the bed that's in the couch and make it nice for yourself to sleep on. When everything is fixed up the way you like it, you shut off the TV and turn off the lights. You check the lock on the door before climbing into bed. You look at your phone one last time before you officially call it a night. No new messages. You sigh and scroll through social media for a little bit. When you land on a video you find funny, you send it to Wanda first. Then you send it to Nebula.
In the morning, you wake up to two notifications, one from Nebula being critical about the video you sent her and the other from Wanda thanking you for the laugh. You respond to Nebula first and ask why she didn’t find it funny and a few minutes later you’re reading a novel of reasons why the video is offensive. You don’t have any idea what to respond with so you decide to make coffee in hopes that it will help you come up with something.
But as you make coffee, Jean wakes up and joins you for a cup. You talk to her about the fight she had with her wife and she breaks down as she reveals that last night was the biggest fight but that there have been many over the months since they can't afford the other options to have a kid. You get even more side tracked when Rachel wakes up and you help Jean make breakfast for everyone. It reminds you of the past. Being a small family of three when the most drama in your life was being a young parent and spouse.
Rachel doesn't say much about last night. Just that she was confused when she woke up in this bed and not the bed at her other home. “Hey Rachel guess what,” you say with a little smirk and you watch her take a bite of her toast. Her eyes widen as the both of you rush to say, “I love you,” first. She spits toast crumbs as she does, some land on the table and some splatter on her mom.
“Gross!” Jean complains as she uses napkins to wipe her arm. “You did that on purpose, Y/n.” You and Rachel share a laugh. It was a little game that started when she was a toddler and learning how to speak. It began because whenever Jean was feeling affectionate, she would come up to you and say, “Guess what?” You would pretend to be clueless because you wanted to hear her say it and she would say, “I love you, you idiot.”
Rachel began to pick up on it and she would start to say, “Baba, guess what?” In her little voice. You would smile and respond with, “I love you,” at the same time as she would. Eventually it became a competition of who could say it faster. It was endearing to hear your baby girl get frustrated while telling you that she loved you.
It has survived all of these years and you fear the day that she rolls her eyes and reminds you that she's not a kid anymore.
“I don't know what you're talking about,” you say to Jean as you help clean up the crumbs from the table.
“Whatever,” she shakes her head with a light laugh. She looks at her plate of food and smiles as she is thrown back into so many good memories of being a family. “I'm sad that I forgot about that,” she admits as she looks over at Rachel who is completely focused on her breakfast now. Jean starts to comb her fingers through her daughter’s soft red hair. She recalls how excited she was when her daughter's hair started to grow out as red as her own. Rachel took after her for the most part but there is still a lot of you in her. Her smile is yours. Her nose is yours. Her ears are all you. As much as you try to pin those on Jean.
“It's not really your game,” you say from the kitchen where you're tossing the used napkins into the trash bin. “I’d have been surprised if you did remember it.” You say as you return to your seat to finish your breakfast.
Jean rests her elbow on the table and sets her chin on the palm of her hand as she watches you. She can't help but feel a little regretful for not working harder on the marriage she had with you. As you eat, you become aware of her gaze on you. With a confused frown you look at her and she gives you an apologetic expression before she clears her throat and goes back to eating her food. You ignore it.
Anna is sitting in her kitchen all alone, slowly sipping her tea. She ia taking the time alone to consider if this is what she wants. She did this before her wedding day. She was getting anxious about fully commiting herself to Jean and to becoming a stepmom and figuring out where she fits into this family that she joined. So she took a weekend to run off and get a hotel room. She sat in her hotel room alone for the most part.
At some point, she went to the indoor pool to people watch. There were little kids that needed more parental supervision than they had. She nearly had a heart attack watching a toddler fall into the deep end of the pool. She quickly swooped the little guy into her arms and returned him to the fearful mother. The woman thanked her profusely but Anna waved her off and found herself saying, “I’m a mom too. I would hope that someone wouldn't watch and let my daughter drown.” The woman got excited and wanted to hear more about the daughter that Anna wasn't sure she should commit to. Anna happily talked and bragged about Rachel and realized how easy it was. Then the woman's husband pulled her away because they had plans to get to.
Anna was left alone again. She sat on one of the chairs and continued to watch people. There were two girls that were being bothered by a single guy. The girls themselves were single but weren't interested in him. Anna looked down at her engagement ring and knew she didn't want to be single anymore.
Anna looks at her rings now. She still doesn't want to be single. Her chest feels heavy not having Rachel bounce around the kitchen waiting for breakfast. She misses hearing the cartoons on the television. She misses her wife's presence. She doesn't know why she is pushing away her family as much as she has been. She just feels like she didn't understand what she was signing up for. She buzzes air past her lips as she thinks about how everyone has told her that the first year of marriage is the hardest.
She never wanted to believe them but everyone was right. Even Jean said it. Anna would just roll her eyes and remind Jean that she was a lot longer the first time around.
As a test, she removes her rings and sets them on the counter space in front of her. She looks at her naked hand and considers leaving them off. But she quickly shoves the rings back on and grabs her keys. She needed advice and the person she sought advice from the most was her mom.
Wanda is sitting with Agatha as they meet for brunch with their boys running around Agatha’s house. “Are you planning on going to that fundraiser?” Wanda asks as she takes a sip of her orange juice.
Agatha rolls her eyes at being reminded of the event, “As much fun as it would be to remind everyone who the life of the party is. I was planning on going but then my mother called. She fell and sprained her wrist.” Wanda shows her concern and Agatha waves her off. “She'll be fine. She sprained her wrist years ago and when she's lonely she throws the brace back on and calls me in a panic.” She drinks her apple juice. “I don't always go but she wants to see Nick before he gets shipped off to that summer camp that his father found. So I'm going to drive up and spend that week with them.”
“Damn, I was hoping that we could go together,” Wanda frowns as she picks at the paint chipping from her finger nails.
“You wanted to go this year? Even with Vision and his child bride attending?” Agatha leans in, intrigued as she looks her friend up and down. “I see, you want an excuse to see Y/n.”
“Or maybe make them jealous,” Wanda says shyly as she moves the scraps around her plate. It’s becoming apparent to her that no matter what, she wants to be with you. She made the mistake of guarding her heart and telling you to find someone else. She wasn't ready to accept that someone as genuine as you exists. In the back of her mind, she couldn't trust that you are good. She was afraid that you wouldn’t stay good once you were in a relationship with her. She was afraid that you would change the way that Vision did.
When Wanda realized that Vision was never good, she was able to stop putting that fear in you. She was able to see the light and see that the only thing keeping her from her happiness is herself.
“Oh? Please elaborate on that,” Agatha scoots closer to Wanda.
The brunette shrugs, “I don't know. I was thinking about showing up in some stunning dress. Maybe get my hair done. Kind of go all out.”
“Were you thinking about getting a date? You have to have a date,” Agatha suggests as she gets excited about the idea.
“I don't know, would that be too much?” Wanda drinks her orange juice as she considers the idea.
“Honey, Y/n will probably be there with that Nebula girl, right?” Agatha reminds her. “Why should you show up alone?”
“I don't know, Agatha, that feels… I don't know… so high school,” Wanda resists.
Agatha picks up her phone as she goes through her contact list. “Babe, I'm serious. I'm going to get you some serious arm candy. There's this new guy at work that just moved here from New York. He's blind, but he's cute enough. Definitely someone that will have Y/n-”
“Hold on, did you just say he's cute enough for a blind guy?” Wanda scoffs, a little shocked by her friend's insensitivity.
Agatha rolls her eyes, “No, he's cute enough to get the job done and he's blind. Just, don't worry about a thing. I will set up the blind date. But I'll make sure he's not blind to the setup.” Agatha snickers a bit, proud of her puns and Wanda shakes her head as she finishes her orange juice.
On the night of the fundraiser you leave Rachel with Jean who was still staying at your apartment while she worked things out with Anna. They have talked since their big fight but they agreed to spend some more time separated from each other. You don't know why Jean and Rachel couldn't stay at the house. It was their house first. But Anna doesn't have anywhere to go so you dealt with it. Under the condition that Jean started her medication again. To your knowledge, she is taking them. You don't check under her tongue or anything but she does make a point to show you that she is taking them in the morning and at night.
Because of this, you haven't been able to see Nebula since Rachel doesn't know that you're dating again and you don't want her knowing about Nebula yet since it was a big deal with Daisy. But she knows about tonight’s event. Thanks to her school, you're able to go on a date with Nebula.
You knock on the door with a single flower in your hand. “Wow,” you say as you admire her beauty and her outfit. She is beautiful. “You look fantastic,” you compliment as you hold out the flower to her.
She smiles as she smells it. “Thank you,” she sets it in her key bowl by the table. “I’ll put it in a vase later. It's supposed to rain soon.” As if on cue a loud clap of thunder rings out while she locks her door.
“Wow, I had no idea,” you say as you walk her to your car. “I didn't see that in the forecast earlier,” I frown as I check my phone before starting the car. Sure enough gray clouds with lightning bolts and cartoon rain appear on the weather app for the next few hours. “Huh, I guess you do have to check it more than once.”
“I told you,” Nebula says with a smile. She kisses your cheek as you start the car. “I’ve missed you these past couple of weeks.”
“I missed you too,” you aren't lying, you're simply omitting the small detail that you've missed Wanda more. “It's been so weird living with Jean again. I can honestly say, I don't miss being married to her and actually be certain of that for once.”
Nebula laughs and connects her phone to the Bluetooth in the car to play her music. The two of you sing along to the songs the entire drive to the venue. It starts to sprinkle a bit as you get closer to the event.
Wanda is pacing back and forth in her underwear on a three way video call with Carol and Agatha. Her room is a mess of dresses, pant suits, and shoes. She hasn't even made it as far as accessories. “I don't know! I thought the dress I bought last week was the revenge dress but it's hideous! Y/n would never like something like that!”
Carol puts her face in her hands and groans. “Wanda we know how to make you look hot for anyone. We don't know how to make you look specifically hot for Y/n. We like them but neither of us have tried to get in their pants.”
“Speak for yourself,” Agatha quips.
“Agatha!” Wanda and Carol scold her.
“What? I have eyes don't I? Besides, that was before I knew Wanda was serious about them. Y/n turned me down every time, relax,” Agatha says. “Why don't you try the purple dress? The one you wore to that one thing that one time.”
“Because that's helpful,” Carol mutters.
“Oh yeah! The booby one, okay I'll be right back, one of you add someone who might know what Y/n will find attractive.” Wanda says as she runs off to her walk-in closet to find the purple dress.
“How? How do you do it Agatha? I swear I sent her pictures and she still couldn't remember the dresses I suggested! You say that one you wore that one time and she gets it!”
“I'm just that good,” Agatha says.
“I only have one purple dress because Agatha got it for me for Christmas,” Wanda shouts from her closet.
“That too,” Agatha says.
“Who can we add?” Carol says as she thinks about who they know that knows Y/n best.
“Jean?” Agatha suggests.
“Ew, no,” Wanda says as she steps out of the closet in the dress. “I don't want to ask her to make me look hot for her ex.”
“I'm just saying, they've known each other their whole lives,” Agatha reminds her friends.
“I don't think she'd be much help because based on the stories they've told, Jean didn't have to do much for Y/n’s attention,” Carol adds.
“Hmm, that's true,” Agatha ponders. “What about Darcy? Didn't they try dating at one point?” She suggests next.
“They did?” Wanda and Carol say in unison.
“You ladies are so full of yourselves sometimes. You know, you girls could benefit from paying attention when people speak,” Agatha shakes her head. “Screw it, I'm adding her to the call.”
“Wait,” Wanda tries to stop her but the call is already going through. Darcy answers in her pitch black bedroom.
“Who the hell is - oh hi guys! What the hell is wrong with you? It's one in the morning!” Darcy groans as she turns on the lamp on her nightstand. The bright light reveals more of her setting and more of her than anyone expected to see when she turned on the light.
“Uh Darcy, nip slip,” Carol says as she points at the screen. Darcy pulls her sheets further up and a deeper groan follows as a man's back appears in the background. “Oh, my, who is that?” Carol asks with a laugh.
“It's your fault you called me at one in the morning on a Friday night,” Darcy defends herself.
“In our defense, you didn't have to answer,” Agatha points out.
“Ladies! Focus! My escort is supposed to arrive here in thirty minutes!” Wanda tries to keep everyone in line.
“Right, Darcy! We need your help making Wanda look good for Y/n,” Carol informs Darcy of the reason they disrupted her sleep.
“Oh, I know what could make Wanda look good,” Darcy starts, “she could find a time machine, then go back to the night she rejected Y/n and not do that.”
“Oh come on,” Agatha says.
“Low blow,” Carol says.
“This was a bad idea,” Wanda falls onto the front of her bed.
“Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I thought that I had to but I didn't,” Darcy says as she sits up and yawns. “What can I do to help?”
“There's a fundraiser for the kids' school and I want to wow Y/n into leaving with me instead of Nebula,” Wanda explains. “But I don't know what kind of outfit will do that!”
“Y/n is very simple to please, if you showed up in just one of their shirts and nothing else, they'd marry you on the spot,” Darcy says as if it's obvious that you're not a difficult person.
“Yeah, like Wanda has one of Y/n’s shirts,” Agatha laughs. Wanda gets quiet and looks at the corner of her room where a shirt she kept is lying on the floor. She had been wearing it to bed lately and it no longer smells like you. But she wasn't willing to let it go yet. “Wanda! Are you serious?” Agatha shouts into the phone.
“Calm down, I didn't steal it. I just didn't return it when I found it. But that's besides the point. I'm not showing up to a school event in a T-shirt. We have to do better than that ladies!” Wanda says as she stands up and lets the dress fall to the floor.
“Wow so my nipples are a problem but we're getting the whole show from Wanda and no one is saying anything?” Darcy gripes.
Carol rolls her eyes, “We're far past that by now Lewis.”
“Whatever, do you have any black dresses?” Darcy asks.
“Like a million of them,” Agatha moans, shaking her head, exhausted by this conversation.
“Y/n appreciates a little black dress. I bet you anything that Nebula is wearing a red dress,” Darcy defends her suggestion.
“No, my connection at the school sent me a picture of when they arrived. Nebula is wearing blue,” Agatha says with her phone close to her face as she sends the image to the group.
“Wait!” Darcy says a little too loud, disturbing the man in her bed. “Shut up you big baby,” she rolls her eyes at him. “Look, do you see Y/n’s tie?” Darcy asks with her phone close to her face and the camera at a bad angle again.
“Yeah, what about it?” Agatha questions, not really concerned about the tie as much as she should be.
“Wait, I want to see,” Carol's view changes as well and Wanda is standing and staring at the worst angles of her friends as they look at the image on their phones. “Oh I see,” Carol says.
“I get it now,” Agatha agrees.
“What?” Wanda asks, growing annoyed with her friends.
“Wanda, grab the velvet suit from the back of the closet. The one you wore to that holiday party at my work three years ago,” Agatha directs Wanda. “You're going to show up ready to match Y/n. If that suit doesn't work, then it's their loss. That suit almost turned me.”
“I agree, that suit is magic on you,” Carol says as she remembers seeing pictures of her friend in that suit.
“Carol, stop drooling over Wanda and get ready for dinner with my parents,” Valkyrie says in the background.
“Alright,” Carol sighs, she's not very fond of her fiancee’s conservative family. “Y’all heard the misses. I've got to go. Good luck Maximoff,” she bids everyone goodbye before ending the call.
“I should go too, I have an early morning,” Darcy says before she hangs up.
The screen is just Agatha with Wanda in the corner of her phone. “I should go too so that you're not distracted. Have a good night Wanda. I want all of the dirty details tomorrow,” she ends the conversation altogether leaving Wanda on her own to finish getting ready.
It's not too long before there's a knock on Wanda's door. She opens it and is surprised by the man that stands before her. He is more than she expected, she feels a little speechless. “I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I'm in the right place. Are you Wanda Maximoff?” The handsome stranger with the red tinted glasses asks.
“Uh, um, yes, that's me. Sorry, hi. You're,” Wanda is spacing on his name for a moment then remembers Agatha making a doormat joke about him. She clears her throat to clear her stutter. “I'm assuming that you're Matt, correct.”
He smiles and Wanda can't help but blush at his charming grin. “Yes I am,” he says. “I'm assuming that I'm not what you expected?” His tone is sweet as he steps back from the front door. Anticipating for Wanda to walk with him to the waiting car.
“Honestly? Not really,” Wanda replies as she locks her front door. Agatha really downplayed Matt’s good looks.
“Ah, I see. Is it safe to assume that Agatha forgot to mention the detail that I am blind?” He extends his elbow to her when he feels her get close to him and Wanda accepts it, wrapping her hands at the crook of his elbow. She walks him towards the car while he holds his folded up guide stick in his hand.
“No, I knew that part. She mentioned that right away. But she didn't mention how handsome you were, she said something along the lines of ‘he’s not bad looking for a blind guy.’ Plus all of the ‘blind date’ puns that she was able to work with.” Matt laughs, humored and flattered by the story about his abrasive co-worker.
“Ah, that's interesting. I don't think I've ever exceeded expectations in that department before. I would have thought she asked me to be your fake date because of my charms and looks.” The two enter the car. “She paid for this ride by the way, she wanted me to stress that.”
“I owe her big time,” Wanda says as she lets go of Matt's arm. This was going to be an interesting night for her.
At the fundraiser, you walk around a biding table with Nebula. You can't donate much since you're still paying off Rachel's medical bills and the apartment complex you live in is trying to raise your rent. You're under negotiations but it's looking like no matter what, it's still going to cost you. There isn't much else that you can do other than make it look like you're going to give this school money when they hardly wanted to do anything for your daughter in her time of need.
Nebula quickly pulls you over to the food as the line shortens and the pair of you fill your plates with as much food as they can handle. There aren't many parents that you know at the school because your daughter only hangs out with Billy and Tommy outside of school. At least to your knowledge. That left you finding a random and unclaimed table to stand at with Nebula as you tried to make the most out of the evening.
As the band played covers of popular songs you kept your focus on the woman with you as she became the most entertaining person in the room. That was until something made your eyes subtly scan the room where they inevitably land on Wanda walking in with a man attached to her arm. She's dating? Is your first thought. Your second thought is, That is one hell of a suit.
You quickly return your attention to Nebula but you can't focus on her. She is beautiful, of course, but Wanda is stunning. You can't help but search for her again and feel entirely captivated by her gaze as her eyes meet yours. It takes all of your strength to break the contact.
“We can go say hi,” Nebula says as she pushes around the food on her plate that she didn't like.
“I'm sorry, it's just been so awkward walking around here not knowing anyone,” you say to cover up the fact that you want to switch places with the man that arrived with Wanda. She's never mentioned the guy and she shows up in an outfit matching his glasses. It's unbelievable. It's infuriating.
Wanda’s heart races nervously as she catches your gaze for a moment. She clenches her jaw when you kiss Nebula on the lips. Her pink lipstick stains your lips and she has to clean it off with her thumb. That should be Wanda smiling and removing her lipstick from your lips. She should be the one holding your hand as you walk towards her. Her eyes widen slightly as she realizes that you're walking towards her.
“So what were you telling me about your friend again?” Wanda asks as she tries to strike up a conversation so that it doesn't look obvious that she's here on a mission.
“Are they walking towards us?” Matt asks with an amused smirk.
“Yeah,” Wanda shamelessly admits. She has nothing to hide from Matt. He knows what he's here for. They talked about it at length in the car because she really didn't want to take advantage of him. Matt assured her that really didn't mind.
“So I was telling my friend, Foggy, that just because I can't see doesn't mean I can't-”
“Hey Wanda,” you make a point to interrupt their conversation. “Who is this?” You ask as you move your hand from holding Nebula's to holding her hip.
“Matthew Murdock,” he holds his hand out and you give him a polite shake. “Most people call me Matt. And behind my back some call me Blind Matt,” he jokes and you try to refrain from reacting to his disability. You didn't realize that he was visually impaired. Then you see his guide stick and instantly feel guilty for mentally villainizing him.
“People tend to call me Queer Y/n when I tell them my preferred pronouns,” you retort to get a laugh out of him. “Although, Wanda made it obvious to everyone when I lost a bet and she chose to cut my hair into a mullet,” you continue and this makes Matt laugh.
“I haven't thought about a mullet since my accident. And there's not much that I don't miss the sight of but that has to be one of the things I don't miss seeing, no offense,” he says, making the three of you laugh.
“None taken, I was really happy when she finally gave me the okay to get my haircut again,” you say as you run your fingers through your short hair.
“That's funny, I didn't know you had to wait for her permission,” Nebula says as she sizes up Wanda.
“It was her prize from the bet,” you shrug as if the reason was obvious. “Of course I have to ask for permission.”
“You didn't have to,” Wanda clarifies as she reaches out and squeezes your shoulder with a laugh, “I appreciate that you did but you're just that kind of person.” She looks over at Nebula with what you interpret as a warm smile. “You're very lucky to be dating someone like, Y/n,” she says.
The song starts to slow down and the singer invites the couples to slow dance on the dance floor since they're all here to enjoy a night off from the kids. Nebula starts to pull you away claiming to love the song that's being performed. You look back at Wanda as you follow Nebula to the dance floor. Her expression looks a little funny to you at first. You lose sight of her as people get in the way and remind yourself that you came here with Nebula. She has your undivided attention.
Wanda is hit with a pang of jealousy as Nebula pulls you away for a dance. She stops one of the waiters walking past her with a tray full of champagne flutes and she grabs two. She downs both of them and sets them on a nearby table. “How good are you at slow dancing?” She asks Matt.
“Let's go,” he says as he extends his arm out to her. They make their way to the dance floor and Wanda manages to find a spot where she can watch you. When she notices that she has caught your eye, she smiles at Matt.
You try not to show your jealousy as you lean back to gaze into Nebula's eyes. She does have very pretty eyes. You smile and she smiles back up at you. The next slow song plays and you recognize it almost immediately. It's one that your daughter likes to play in the car a lot. Your eyes find Wanda who is holding Matt close to her.
You can't focus on the pain that small act of intimacy is causing you. It's not fair to Nebula. It's not fair to Wanda, who seems very happy. It's not fair to yourself. But you can't tear your eyes away from her. Matt whispers something in her ear that makes her laugh. Even through the loud music and the crowd, her laugh spreads a warmth in your chest.
Wanda lets Matt spin her around during the song as she allows herself to focus on having fun with him instead. Tonight isn't the night to play games and hope that you ditch your date to be with her. She's an adult and she doesn't need to act like a child. She can have her moment with you another day. Tonight, she's going to have fun with someone that she has no ties to because Matt seems like a really great guy.
As the second song comes to an end, Wanda ends up facing your direction because of the way Matt spun her and her heart stops. You and Nebula are sharing a kiss but it's different. Your eyes are open and looking for Wanda. Are you playing a game too? She can't do this anymore. She starts to feel overwhelmed under your intense gaze. She wants you to look at her that way but not under these circumstances. She doesn't want to be playing these kinds of games. Not with you. Everything between the two of you hasn't felt as childish as it does right now.
“I'm sorry, Matt. I need some air,” Wanda says as she lets go of him. She helps him get off of the dance floor before she leaves the building.
You watch Wanda run out of the event without her date and you stop kissing Nebula. The woman in your arms pulls out the red handkerchief from the breast pocket of your jacket. She wipes your lips and sighs. “Go to her,” she says as she fixes your handkerchief.
“Nebula I-”
“Y/n, don't apologize. Go after her. She's your person. It's okay, I knew it was never me. This was fun while it lasted.” She gives you a kind smile as she pats your chest and dusts off your shoulders.
“You're amazing, you know that?” You say to her, at a loss for words. Not knowing how else to thank her for not making this difficult for you.
“I do, now go!” She turns you towards the direction of the exit and gives you a small shove. You laugh as you take her advice and start running toward the exit to try and catch Wanda before she gets too far away.
You look for her in the lobby but it's completely empty. Then you see her at the corner of the street waiting to cross. It's pouring outside but you can't care about that right now. You push the glass door open and run outside. “Wanda!” You call out to her just as a loud clap of thunder overpowers your voice. “Wanda! Wait!” You shout as you run to get closer but the cross signal has given her the go ahead to cross the street. You push yourself to run faster as the storm rages on.
The street is empty. There are no cars waiting for her to cross. There is no one outside on the sidewalks. This time it is just you and Wanda. So you don't hesitate when you stop her in the middle of the crosswalk and grab her wrist. You spin her so that her body crashes against yours. Neither of you have a moment to process before you press your lips against hers. As you kiss Wanda, you feel her melt in your arms. You feel as though everything in the world is falling into place. You feel a little dizzy kissing her, losing yourself completely in the way her lips collide against yours. Surrendering to the emotions that you’ve been repressing for too long. You love this woman and you can't deny it anymore.
The kiss breaks when both of you need to come up for air and a car honks at the pair of you. Wanda pulls you onto the sidewalk, across the street from the venue. “What was that?” Wanda shouts once the two of you are safe on the concrete. The rain is still coming down hard and it's not easy to hear without a raised volume.
“I’ve tried so hard to see you as just a friend,”  you shout back, “but I can’t!” Wanda opens her mouth to say something but you don't want her to reject you again. “Before you say anything. Please let me finish. I’ve tried to be with other people. You’ve seen that! But you are the only person I want to be with. I love you, Wanda. I can’t- I won’t take it back this time.”
“Then don't,” Wanda says as she puts your hand on the back of your neck and pulls you in for another kiss. You excitedly swoop her in your arms and spin her around as you kiss her on the side walk in the pouring rain.
She giggles as you set her back down and lean your forehead against hers. “Can I take you home?” You ask her feeling a rush of emotions that you can't express out here. You want to be alone with her in a dry setting.
“Please,” she answers as she smiles up at you.
Hand in hand, the two of you run across the street to grab your car from the valet. As you wait in the lobby you watch Nebula escorting Matt out and you feel relieved about not having to worry about either of them. When you get into the car with Wanda, she kisses you on the lips again before you can start the engine. You can't believe this is real. But you don't ask her to pinch you. If this is a fantasy, you want to live in it forever.
Every red light that you hit on the way to her house, the two of you take the moment to kiss. As you drive, you have your hand on her thigh. Wanda almost regrets not wearing a dress so that she could tease you with more exposed skin. But she's also glad that she didn't because with the outfit she did wear, she managed to draw only your attention and not unwanted attention from others. That's what was most important to her.
It wasn't about being the hottest person in the room for her. It was about being the person that you wanted to leave with.
As the two of you stumble into her home, swept up in the heightened emotions of it all, she starts to get into her head a bit. The two of you fall onto her sofa with you on top. She wants this to work with you. She doesn't want this to end before it begins. As you kiss her neck she almost gives in and allows the two of you to release months of built up tension. But she can't get out of her head now.
“Wait,” she says as she pushes you back. “Wait, I can't do this right now.” She says between breaths. She hadn't realized how breathless she was until she could hardly catch her breath. She slips her body out from under yours and sits on the couch.
“I'm sorry,” you say as you pant and back away. “I shouldn't have gotten so carried away I thought-” you say as you stand up to leave.
“No wait,” Wanda quickly grabs your hand and tugs on your arm. “Stay, let me… let me collect my thoughts and we can talk.” Her big apologetic eyes pull you in and remove the fear and doubt from your mind. You sit next to her and wait for her to start. You give her the space to think about what she wants to communicate with you. She deserves to have this time. You can wait to hear her out as you sit by her with your fingers laced with hers. Both of you are still soaked from the rain. Her hair isn't as neat as when she arrived to the event and you're certain that you don't look nearly as put together as when you left your apartment.
“I love you too,” Wanda states first. “I'm in love with you,” her voice waivers this time and you can see tears building up. She clears her throat. “I want to be clear about that first. And I want you to stay with me tonight. I just don't think tonight is the night that we take things all the way.”
You nod, “Of course,” you say as you release your hand from hers and put your arm around her body. You press the side of your head to the top of hers and take a deep breath as she leans into your side. “Although, I will argue that spending the night would've been made easier if you got me out of these wet clothes. That's all I'm saying,” you jokingly point out and it makes Wanda laugh.
“That's right,” she looks down at her wet clothes and then at yours. She bites her lips as she thinks of a possible solution but she’s slightly scared of the answer. “Do you have anything in your car?”
“I didn't pack an overnight bag because my intention was to go home after,” you tell her and kiss her cheek. “How about this,” you start as you pull away to face her as you speak, “I get naked — hold on stay with me now — I get naked. Put the nice stuff on some hangers to air dry and I toss the things I can wear to bed in the dryer. And I hop in the shower so that you're not tempted by me until they're done.” Wanda laughs and rolls her eyes. Your tone is very light and humorous but it's a good suggestion.
“Okay,” Wanda nods in agreement.
“So I can sleep in my underwear?” You ask, just to take the extra step in getting her consent.
“Yes, you can sleep in your underwear,” she stands up from the couch and pulls you up with her. The two of you are giddy and giggle as you climb the stairs together. Neither of you tried to cross a line, you undress in her bathroom with the door shut and she waits until you announce that you're in the shower to collect your clothes. She starts with putting the white under shirt and your boxers into the dryer first before she focuses on properly hanging your clothing. She gets changed into dry clothes and hangs her wet clothing as well.
When the dryer is done she grabs a towel for you and neatly folds everything before she takes it to the bathroom. She announces that it's there for you when she leaves it. When you step out of the bathroom, she kisses you as she passes you so that she can shower and properly clean her face with her products.
You text Jean that you're not coming home tonight but you don't tell her who you're with and let her continue to assume that you're with Nebula as you wait for Wanda in her bed. Jean sends you a winking gif then some gifs with innuendos that make you laugh. You set your phone to charge next to Wanda's and settle into the bed that you've missed sleeping in.
When she joins you, she starts by laying on top of you to kiss you on the lips again. You're happy to respond to the kiss and hold back on growing too eager to turn it into anything more. “I love you,” Wanda says with a bright grin.
“I love you,” you say while wrapping her in your arms. You close your eyes and sigh. “I'm going to be really mad if this is all a dream,” you mutter, which makes Wanda laugh.
She looks down at you as her smile slowly drops and not because her happiness has faded but because she wants you to believe her. She wants you to understand that she is serious when she tells you that this isn't a fantasy. “Y/n,” she calls softly, you open your eyes and connect with her loving gaze, “this is real.”
It's Time For Second...second....SECOND DATE UPDATE!!!!
{Transcript of Second Date Update from Tho and Due in the morning. Originally aired 1-/--/---
Good morning, RC! Thank you for tuning into Tho and Due in the Morning! I'm your host Tho.
And I'm Due! And it's time for Second Date Update! Today's first guest is Aang. Aang recently went on a date with a young lady that he says went really great, bu~ut he hasn't had any luck setting up a second date. {cue sad Aww! sound effect}
That's right. This situation is a bit different though. Usually on these calls, the first date is still the "getting to know you" phase for our couples, but Aang says that he and this girl had been friends for a while and actually knew each other pretty well before their first date. We're going to let him tell his story. Aang?
Thanks, guys. Yeah, Katara and I have been friends for about ten years now. We met when we were in high school, and I've been in love with her since the beginning. I had been trying for years to get her to go out with me, and she finally said yes!
Congrats! Tell us a bit about the date. Did something go wrong? Did she say anything to make you think she was upset at the end?
No! The date was amazing! I pulled out all the stops. We went to a nice restaurant, then a walk by the water, and dessert at this cafe that makes the best custard tarts in the city. We even kissed! But when I tried to make a second date, she said she was busy. I tried to talk to her when we were hanging out at our friend's house, and she seemed weirdly distant. I didn't know how to get her to talk to me, so I reached out to you guys.
Aw! Well, let's get Katara on the phone and see if we can't sort this out for you, alright, buddy?
{phone rings. rings. rings. ri-}
Hello?
Hi, is this Katara {last name redacted}?
Um...yeah? Who is this?
This is Tho from Tho and Due in the Morning on ZK100.
O-kay? What's this about?
You're on the air live with us on our radio show!
Radio show? Those are still a thing?
{Due laughs awkwardly}
Yeah, we're a hold over from the age of the dinosaurs. Anyway, you're on a segment we call the Second Date Update. We're calling you because we were contacted by a friend of yours. Did you go on a date with Aang a few weeks ago?
Yeah, I did go out with him once, like two months ago. What about it?
Well, Aang had a great time on that date, and he'd like to take you out again. We just wanted to know if you'd be interested.
No.
Oh, ouch! That was quick. Mind if we ask what happened? Aang said it was a lovely night.
{Tho laughs at Due}
Lovely night? Who are you? King Kuei?
Whatever man. So, Katara, did something happen that night that made you not want to go out with Aang again? From what he tells us, you two were already friends, so you like something about him, right?
He's...fine. Yeah, we're friends, but I didn't have as good a time that night as he seems to have had.
Oh? Do tell! He made it sound like a nice time. Dinner, a nice walk and then dessert. A kiss at the end of the night...
Ha! Okay, so the basics are right, we had dinner at this vegan spot in midtown-
Oof! Vegan! I see why you didn't want a second date.
What? No, no, that wasn't the problem. I'm fine with eating vegan sometimes, and it was a nice restaurant. But I made the mistake of telling him how much I liked my meal, and he launched into this long, preachy diatribe about the virtues of eating plant based, and how awful it was to eat meat. He stopped short of outright calling me a murderer, but only just. Then after dinner, he insisted he on what he called a short walk to a cafe for dessert. It was a mile through the most secluded part of Shori Park- you know, where they had that string of muggings over the summer? And I was in heels. I wanted to turn back and drive, but Aang kept insisting it wasn't much farther. I didn't feel safe walking back on my own, so I kept going. My feet were killing me and my shoes were ruined by the time we got to the cafe.
Yikes! That does not sound like the evening Aang described.
Oh, but there's more! It turns out Aang's a regular at this particular cafe, and he's very popular there. Very popular. He flirted with the cashier for like ten minutes. Then when he finally came back to our table with our orders, we kept being interrupted by all these girls who just had to ask him about random things or ask him to show them his marble trick- which by the way, isn't that interesting. I got a cab on Yip Yip, and it when it finally came, Aang was shocked to hear that I didn't want to walk back through the park to his car. He insisted on walking me out, and before I got in the car, he did kiss me. He smashed my lip into my teeth. I thought for sure I'd be bleeding.
Ooo...ouch!
Woah...yeah. I-I guess I can understand why he hasn't heard from you about a second date. But he'd been trying to get a date with you for a while, right?
No. I knew he had a crush on me at one point, but he never made a move. Then he suddenly asked me out. I had broken up with my ex a few months earlier, and Aang was the complete opposite of him. I thought why not give it a try with him.
Well, maybe he was nervous.
Trust me, if you had seen him in that cafe playing up for his crowd of admirers, nervous is the last word you'd use to describe him.
Wow... That sounds like a rough night. We actually have Aang on the other line. Would you mind if we brought him into the conversation?
{Katara heaves a heavy sigh}
I guess...
Alright. Go on Aang.
Hey Katara...
Hi, Aang.
I heard what you said about that night. I didn't realize you'd had such a bad time.
Well, maybe if you had let me get a word in edgewise.
I'm sorry I took you to a vegan restaurant. But you know I'm an ethical-
Ethical vegan. Yes. I know. I didn't have a problem with the restaurant. I had a problem with being browbeaten about eating meat. I respect the fact that you don't eat meat. You need to respect the fact I do.
That's like asking me to respect the fact that some people murder.
I can't have this argument with you again, Aang. I'm hanging up.
Wait! Please don't! I'm sorry, Katara. Can't we just talk this out?
There's not that much to talk about, Aang. Listen, you're a nice guy, but I don't feel that way about you.
How do you know after one date? I screwed up. I admit it, but I promise I'll do better next time.
Katara, we usually ask if you'd like to go on a second date. It would be completely paid for by the station. We'll even spring for a chauffeur so you don't have to worry about walking through sketchy areas at night.
No thank you.
Please, Katara! Give me one good reason you won't give me just one more chance.
I don't want to.
That's not a reason.
Okay, fine. You're self-involved to the point that you're boring. And you don't pay attention to anything I say. I've known you for almost ten years, and you brought me panda lilies for our date.
Those are very expensive flowers!
That I'm allergic to! Which you should know. You were there the first time I got hives from them.
No way!
Aaaahahahahaha! Aang! Buddy....!
I'm sorry! I forgot. I got nervous, and I wanted to impress you.
We've been friends for years. What made you think you had to put on some big production for me?
I-I just...
Yeah, great. Let it go, Aang. We gave it a shot, and it didn't work out.
That's not fair! You can't just throw away any chance of us working because of one awkward date. I've been waiting for years for this. It can't be over already, just like that.
I'm not arguing with you about this.
Wait, wait, wait! Come on, Katara! You have to give me another chance. We're supposed to be together!
Based on what?
On...well, haven't I been a good friend to you?
I don't know man...you didn't know she was allergic to panda lilies
Just because we're friends doesn't mean we're supposed to date.
I don't want to date you! I want to marry you! You-you're my Forever Girl.
{Tho, Due and Katara are all silent}
You can't be serious. I'm hanging up now.
If you hang up, our friendship is over.
Wow...okay. I didn't want to tell you this over the radio, because I thought it would hurt your feelings, but now I don't care. I'm dating Zuko now.
What?
Who's Zuko?
You can't be dating Zuko. You hate him!
I don't hate him. I've been friends with him for almost as long as I've been friends with you. We've been going out for a few weeks, and we just made it official a couple days ago. Even if I did want a second date with you, I don't think he'd appreciate me going out with another man.
Don't do this Katara! He's all wrong for you!
Good-bye, Aang.
Well, I think we lost Katara. Sorry about how that ended there, buddy.
There's plenty other girls. What about that cashier you were flirting with? In the middle of your date...
{Aang hangs up. Tho tries and fails to smother his laughter}
Well, that's all the time we have for today. Thanks for joining us on ZK100. Republic City's number one station for today's top hits, and the home of Second Date Update.
note: it is 2:59 pm on a Friday, let's see how fast I write this shit. note 0.2: Okay so it's 5:54 pm on the same day, I think I'm done. This isn't edited, but it took me 3 hours to write 😁
He was still talking. Why, in the name of Merlin, was he still talking?
Dating Fed Weasley is fun, there's no denying that, but Good Heavens isn't that a boy a handful. Both literary and figurative. He's got a wide imagination, a never-squelching desire for knowledge, and a big heart. That is a dangerous combination for a somewhat intelligent and never-quiet man.
She's a saint, his girlfriend, and Ginny made a point to always express that to her. "How do you put up with that all the time?" Gesturing to Fred, who was using his hands in elaborate motions as he went on his fourth rant of the morning on the same subject to George. She'd only shrug, lips engulfing another spoonful of whatever ice cream the girls were sharing. "In one ear and out the other darling."
Not to say that she hates it, or that it bothers her- quite the opposite actually. Fred's excited and hyper personality is what made him so interesting to her, it was what drew her to him in the first place. She enjoys listening to him rant, even about the most random things -he stopped her the other day and explained in great detail how penguins mate and how once the female accepts the male's proposing gestures, they're together for life- and she adores it.
Yes, it sure can be a bit much at times, but she wouldn't change it for the world. Imagine loving a man who was as boring and dry as his older brother, Percy? She would have to jump out of Ginny's bedroom window!
Today was her first day back in the Burrow from Hogwarts for summer break, and she was exhausted, to say the least. She was up from dawn, finishing up the last bits of her packing before leaving for the train station with Harry, Hermione, and Ron. And because she's a good friend, she made sure each of her friends made it to their transportation safely before she and Ron were picked up by Fred and George.
In the car, Ron opened the untameable can of worms by mentioning Bill who was staying over at the Burrow for the summer as well, taking a couple of months' worth of vacation away from the dragons and such. That was the spark Fred needed to blast off into a hundred rants one after the other.
He spoke about seeing Bill again, which is understandable, he hasn't been home in years. He spoke about the dragons, which led to his excited mention of his favorites and how he's going to ask Bill how it was training them. Then he turned to Quidditch training, and even though both him and George had left Hogwarts a year or so ago, the both of them still found time to play the game as a side hobby. After that was all done, George gave her and Ron and update on the shop, and Fred went on and on about all kinds of new candies and flavors and combinations they were working on to add to the store by the beginning of next year.
She was understandably tired by the time the Burrow came into view. And as much as she adores her boyfriend, she needed him to shut the fuck up for twenty minutes. But he's so sweet, and his eyes light up when talking, and he gets this beautiful energy surrounding him when he does it that she doesn't have the nerve to ask him to be silent for a bit. So she excuses herself and tries to bury her body under the covers of his bed.
But he finds her there, and he reports to her that dinner is ready, and that Bill is here, and that she looks so gorgeous on his bed, and that there's a strange animal in the backyard, and that Ginny tried to curse the bathroom when he went in to use it, and that he doesn't understand why she'd do that, and that George is out in the garage, and that-
She jolts up on his bed, her eyes twitching as she stares at him. He looks so beautiful, but he's talking too damn much. She cups his face, and he goes silent and stares at her with wide eyes.
"Wha'?" He mumbled, his lips squished together as she squeezed his cheeks.
"You talk too much, ya' know that?" She said, her thumb slightly caressing the apples of his cheeks.
He opens and closes his mouth like a fish out of water, and tilts his head ever so slightly. "Do' it bothe' yo'?"
She giggles breathlessly and lets go of his face before pressing her lips tightly against his. "Not all the time, but times like today..." She rests her forehead against his and sighs, "It can be a lot, and I need you to read the room and tone it down a little bit, d'ya think you can do that for me?"
He stares, something in his gaze changes, and he nods. "Of course, baby. Whateva' you want."
Great. Now she feels bad. She sighs and pushes past the blankets swallowing her to sit up on her knees. She wraps her arms around his shoulders and pulls him into a hug. "I love you, truly love you, and I don't mean to be mean to you, and you know I love it when you ramble, but I'm really overwhelmed today, darling. I'm sorry."
Fred wraps his arms around her waist in return, hugging her tightly. It's true that he can't always read the room, and now that he's no longer attending school he's got much more free time on his hands than he knows what to do with. It takes him a couple days to be able to read his girlfriend's body language like he used to once she's home from school, and he feels terrible that he was one of the reasons for making her feel so incredibly overwhelmed. He also feels slightly ashamed of his non-stop rambling all day.
He buried his face in the crook of her neck, mumbling something into her skin that made her shiver and giggle away from him. "Stop," she breathes in a giggle, "It tickles."
He chuckles, his hands squeezing at the skin of her waist as he stares at her dreamily. "I said, I'm sorry I made you feel overwhelmed, I promise to try and do better."
She grins at him, so brilliantly, that he can't help but lean down and capture her lips in a soaring kiss. "I love you." He mumbles against her lips, and she smiles while trying to kiss him back. "C'mon now, love, let's go have dinner."
Her eyes darken; her pupils widen, and she smiles that mischievous grin that he adores so much, and he groans while throwing his head back. He knows exactly what is on her mind.
"I have a better idea." She whispers, giggling as she throws herself into his lap and kisses him with such force that she's pushing him down on his bed. He yelps, his hands traveling to the bed and her waist, holding on to her for stability. Bubbling heat travels across his body through her kiss, and he sighs when her cold fingertips trace down his arms, sending goosebumps across his body.
Her kisses transfer from his lips to the sides of his mouth, his cheeks, down his jawline, until she's pampering open-mouthed kisses across his neck like stardust.
He sighs, his eyes closed and his head thrown back on the pillow. "Please," He breathed, a low whine undertoning his voice. She shivers above him, her teeth grazing his skin in a teasing bite.
She's always hated the effect his voice has on her.
"Please what, darling?"
He whines. It's low, for her ears only, it's a barely-there breath, but his mouth is right next to her ear and she hears him loud and clear. Her panties dampen almost immediately.
"Please touch me," He whispers. His hands gripped tightly to her thighs. He knows better than to roam her body without permission. She pulls back slightly, blinking up at him with a soft smile and long lashes. "But I am touching you, Freddie."
He knows this game. This cruel, cruel game she adores to play. He whines in pretentious of hating his role, but his hips buck, and his cock twitches underneath the fabrics of his boxers and trousers.
He slowly traces one of his hands from her thighs to her palm before letting her fingers rest on his aching cock. He guides her hands to gently rub him through his clothes and he lets out a breath when her fingers squeeze around him. "Touch me there." He gasps.
She entertains him, allowing him to set the pace and buck into her hold. He releases deep breaths and low whines, stuttering moans every time she tightens her grip around him. She can feel herself getting wetter by the second, how his eyes are shut desperately, his teeth bite down on his bottom lip, and her name is gasped out of his throat with every other movement. It makes her feel powerful, it makes her entire being vibrate.
"That's enough." She mumbles, pulling her hand out of his grasp and bathing in his complaining whines as she pulls off her shirt. He blinks up at her, watching her boobs bounce in the push-up bra she's wearing before she unhooks it and slides it off her shoulders. He blinks again and swallows whatever drool and saliva has gathered in his mouth, causing his Adam's apple to pop along with the action. She smiles at the sight and quickly bends down to leave a swift kiss on it.
"Take off your shirt." She commands him, and he does so without hesitation, throwing the garment somewhere on the floor of the room he shares with his twin brother. He watches her hands intensely as she teases him by running her thumb on the inside of her trouser's elastic, before slowly pulling the item down and off. He groans at the sight of his favorite panties on her; a partially lacey red thong that settles up between her butt cheeks. She always told him how uncomfortable it made her, but the look on his face when he saw it on her made every second she spent wearing it worth it.
"You're trying to kill me, love?" He groans, daring himself to take a dangerous leap and push his thumb against the damp cloth, pushing down on where he knows her clit hides. He glances up at her, watching the way her lips part and her mouth hangs open at his action.
"And what am I to tell George when he asks? Death by a red thong?"
He grins up at her, picking up the speed at which he's rubbing on her bud of nerves. "Only if you're the one wearing it."
She shudders, forcefully holding herself back from grinding against his thumb. Instead, she grips his wrist and pushes it away from her. She hooks two fingers on each side of his trousers and boxers before meeting his eyes, watching as he licks his lips and nods before pulling the clothing items down his hips and legs.
His cock bounces out from underneath the fabric happily, it smacks against his lower abdomen and she giggles at the sight of precum beads rolling down his slit. He whines, throwing his arm on his face to cover the embarrassing blush that matched his hair color. "Don't laugh at me, why're you so mean to me today?"
Her giggle grows louder, and she leans down to push his arm off his face. "I never intend on being mean to you, my darling, you just bring it out of me. I'm sorry." She mumbles as she meets his gaze, her hand cupping one side of his face and he leans towards her touch. "Don't hide from me, yeah?"
He nods.
"Good boy."
He whines, his eyes squeeze shut and his jaw drops when her fingers wrap around him again, but her thumb is collecting his precum before spreading it down his length before she works a steady rhythm going up and down. His whines slowly turn into moans. His noises were so heavenly that she could swear her wetness was flowing through the fabric of her thong and onto the skin of her thighs.
She sees his muscles contracting and she stops, removing her hand from him altogether. He opens his eyes, blinking up at her in confusion as a noise of complaint slips out of his throat. But he swallows it back up when he sees her push her thong to the side and spread her folds before sitting on his length, and she grinds back and forth on him without actually allowing him access to her.
He groans, throwing his head back. She's coating him in her juices and there's a delicious squelching noise coming from between them and it's driving him insane. He sucks air into his lungs through clenched teeth and shudders when she allows a single moan to slip through her parted lips.
Suddenly, he's engulfed in her warmth and he hisses. His hands grip tightly to her thighs, hips, and any plump skin he can find. He squeezes her, hissing, and pants until he's sheathed completely inside of her. "Slow down," He gasps, "Slow- slow down, slow down, slow down." His voice turns from low breaths to almost high-pitched whines, and she leans down and captures his lips in a silencing kiss.
"Need you to lay here and keep your pretty mouth shut, darling, can you do that? Can you stay quiet for me so your family doesn't hear us fucking?" He whines, hips bucking into her warm cunt causing his eyes to roll to the back of his head as he nods mindlessly. "Yes, yes, yes. I'll be quiet. Fuck- please, baby, please fuck me."
She giggles at his desperate whines, and slowly rocks her hips back and forth, just enough movement to send pleasure jolts but not enough to get them going. She was testing the waters, trying to see how loud he could get without giving him much of anything.
Fred was losing his mind, he could feel her walls clamp down on him every time she moved back, and he could feel himself nudging against her feel-good spot every time she moved forward. Her wetness made a mess out of both of them, making it easy to slide into her and pick up the pace.
He arched his back slightly, just enough to hint at her to go faster. Because she was starting to feel frustrated, she obliged. She switched from grinding down on him to bouncing, her knees and hips working overtime to not make a noise every time her ass cheeks met his thighs.
She's now moaning, leaning down to muffle her noises by his neck or breathe them directly into his ear. Fred's eyes roll to the back of his head every time, and his hands grab onto the fat of her hips to help her.
"I-" She gasps, pushing herself upwards, clamping down on him tightly before forcing deep thrusts with her movement. "I'm gonna cum." She whimpers, and her legs begin to shake and fail her. Fred let out a loud breath that turned into a whimper before pushing himself up and, with a tight hold of her hips, forced her up and down his cock.
"Wa- wanna feel you. Wanna feel you gush around me. Give it to me, please." He whines, his words muffled into her temple, his eyes closed as her walls flutter around him, her body shivering against him and her lips part in long whines. One of his hands sneaked in between them, and his thumb drew quick circles around her clit, just enough to electrify her over the edge.
She freezes up, squeezes down on him and Fred is gone. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her tightly down on him, the repeated squeeze of her walls stimulated him over the edge and they were shaking through their highs together. Her hands were buried in his hair, his hands holding onto her hips, while their lips interlocked in an overflowing kiss.
A few seconds later, their mouths parted as they gasped for air, holding onto one another as their highs dwindled. He traced random shapes on her bare back while she scratched at his scalp in a way she knew he loved.
He was the first to pull back, looking up at her with nothing but love and adoration. He tilts his head and grins, "Do you still want to go down for dinner?"
She laughs, heartily and loudly out of his arms and back onto the bed. "If you'll be going downstairs for a plate, get me one with you. There's no way I can look your mum in the eye after this."
I have seen multiple posts from fanders saying "Thomas doesn't deserve all the hate." To which I have to say-GET A GRIP AND ACTUALLY LEARN WHAT HE'S DONE.
Underpaid Brei
Brei was the main person who designed merch yet received no royalties until recently. To quote her "royalties were something I requested for several years while working there and was consistently told no." Thomas tried to cover the whole thing up and just said she wasn't going to be on the team anymore. As of now he hasn't addressed this.
Refuses to Communicate
Thomas has delayed the Sanders Sides finale for years now. He said it would come out in 2023 and the public received 0 updates until December 27th where he said the year just didn't work out for him. Even now the non finale episode has been delayed for months now and only Patreon receives updates that aren't even regular. They just drop at random dates weeks or months apart.
Sent Fans After People
On numerous occasions Thomas has responded to critiques from random accounts. On multiple occasions he's directly responded to people on X just saying they miss Sanders Sides or posts that aren't even critiques. A couple of months ago he posted a private message from a person on Instagram of them asking something along the lines of "When are you gonna make more Sanders Sides?". Since he posted a screenshot of said message and didn't hide their username in any capacity he made it easy for fans to find their account and DM them. Fanders have a history of sending death threats.
These points aren't just mindless hate. Brei deserved to be properly paid, fans deserve transparently ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY PAY FOR UPDATES/CONTENT, and people deserve to speak their mind without fear of being targeted by a large creator and their fanbase. Don't get me wrong I've seen posts that are just hating or meaningless nitpicking but there's genuine things Thomas deserves to be called out for and held accountable for. He's not your innocent white boy content creator, he's an almost 40 year old man who continues to mistreat people around him no matter their proximity.
"This isn't just a date. This is a date!" You told yourself as you threw random articles of clothing behind you as you hunted for a specific dress.
You thought maybe you shouldn't wear pink. Maybe you have a pretty dress he hasn't seen you in.
You barely slept due to excitement.
The way he talked and looked at you made you swoon over him. Just thinking about makes you-
You squealed as your leg involuntarily kicked up. You blinked twice in confusion "That is so weird..."
Maybe you were horny.
"Oh gosh, not again. Bad leg!" you scolded your beautiful leg as it kicks up again "Down girl, down! No nasty thoughts about... about... about the hot neighbor across us- no!"
You almost moaned at the though of his lips against yours... You shuddered as you kept remembering the way he looked at you. You laid down in the pool of clothing as you imagined how your little lunch date will go.
As usual, you two walked out of your flat at the same time, discussing where the two of you were going for lunch.
"Wetherspoons..." you parked your pink corvette outside, looking at the flowers decorating the place. Your high heels clicked on the pavement as you walked inside, still in your pink work suit despite planning on changing.
It was a busier day than you thought, but of course lunch time is important.
Your eyes lit up as you spotted Steven, sitting up rather stiff "Stevie!" you smiled as you walked over to his table "Hi, so sorry I'm a bit late. Traffic and all."
But Steven looked back at you with such a loving look in his eyes "It's alright, love. I haven't been waiting long."
The truth is, he thought you weren't gonna show up.
"Have you ordered yet? Gosh, you must be starved." you opened the menu and browsed.
"I haven't." he shook his head, opening his menu as well.
"Cross examination was a success." you smiled "Next week's the next trial with the witness."
Steven didn't know what you were talking about, it was out of context "That's great!" he responded.
"So then he was like no and I was like, you are. Then he was like no but then I was like you are! And he was like, I kinda am. So long story short he's like, totally gay." you said as you looked at your compact mirror.
"Thank gosh I figured it out, because no way can he say my Chanel is so last season when his shirt is so last year. My client was totally bugging, but we figured it out and I, like, totally won that. How about you, Stevie? How's your day?"
Steven smiled back at you "T'was alright, love. Just the usual." he says sarcastically "Donna's been a real-"
"Excuse my language— Bitch? Cunt? Pain in the ass?"
He chuckles "Yes. A pain in the arse, love."
"She always sounds like she's giving you a hard time. You sure you don't want me to talk to her?"
"I don't think it's lawyer-worthy. It's really alright, love." Steven shakes his head "Just another typical day."
"Yeah, which can be classified as workplace abuse."
"Really. I'm fine."
You press your glossy lips into a thin line before sighing "Alright. But if you need someone to represent you in court, I'm your girl." you playfully winked at him.
Steven blushed before nodding "I'll keep you in mind then." a waiter comes up to the two of you and he began to order "-and a cocktail. Uh, how about you?"
"Um, I'll have the Soup of the Day with half a baguette, and Pasta Pomodoro with salmon. And— wait did you say a cocktail?" you blinked twice at Steven "I'll have a cocktail too, thank you."
You smiled at the waiter as he repeated the order to you two before walking away.
"Jeez, Stevie. It's only lunchtime." you giggled at him.
"I-I just wanted something strong."
"Work's really stressful, huh?"
"It really is." he sighed "Working late again tonight. But this uh lunch date is really cheering me up."
Your cheeks felt hot, making you smile "That's so sweet... tell you what, I'll pick you up from work tonight again. I'm working late too anyways."
It was Steven's turn to blush. His hand shakes with his head "You're way too nice. I don't wanna bother you. It's quite overwhelming too." even his ears turned red.
"Steven, you shouldn't turn away blessings." you winked as you giggled. Your cocktails were served just a few minutes later.
"I haven't had a cock in a while."
Steven felt his drink rush to his nose and he quickly grabbed a napkin. He coughs a few times before looking up at you.
"Oopsies, I meant a cocktail." you covered your mouth, smiling "Well, I mean... I haven't had that in a while either."
You took a sip of the drink and Steven stared at the lipstick mark left on the edge of the glass. You always wore a certain shade of lipstick, and it always drove him crazy.
There were times he'd imagine smudging your lipstick... in more ways than one.
After lunch, the two of you laughed as you drove to the museum. Steven just kept falling more and more into your wonderland of pink and diamonds. He stared at you with half-lidded eyes, listening to every word you said.
The thing about Steven is that he loves to ramble and talk a lot, and so do you. He knew you were perfect.
"-and I was like, thank gosh I talked her out of buying an orange chiffon scarf. It doesn't suit her spring tones at all! There's a fine line between terracotta and brown."
That evening, your pink corvette was parked outside of the museum, waiting patiently for Steven after a long day of reading case papers. You puckered out your lips to reapply some lipstick before popping and smiling at your reflection.
Your freshly manicured nails tapped on the steering wheel while humming a small tune.
Then suddenly someone knocks on your window.
"Steven?"
He looked like he was roughed up, red staining his clothes, but it's not his blood. It didn't even look like the same clothes he was wearing during your lunch date.
"Oh my gosh, Steven-"
...but that's actually not your main concern.
"-I told you, blue and black as a combo is a total crime against fashion. If it were me, I'd make it law." you groaned, opening the locks of your car "Get in."
His eyes widened but he doesn't respond, only taking the passenger's seat like you commanded.
"Oh, you have a little stain there." you pat the patch of blood using a pink handkerchief with lace trim and your name embroidered on the corner.
He continued to stare at you as you took his hand and placing your handkerchief on his palm "Here. You can give it back to me some other time because I seriously I need to take you shopping this weekend."
You thought maybe he's always tired after work, that's why he's so quiet, like yesterday.
"Maybe I can figure out your color palette so I know what looks best on you. Your shirts are cute, I'd have to admit, but some of them are... meh. No offense but some prints are worse than the last. OH! I know, we'll do a whole shopping day on the weekend. An hour or so won't cut it. I know it's your weekend off, but trust me when I say when your pretty neighbor's a fashionista, your life is gonna change."
Steven looks at you from the mirror's reflection before shifting his eyes towards the body— Jake. Unlike Marc's creepy silent behavior from the night before, Jake actually looks at you as you went on and on.
He even responds with small nods.
"Can we not make this a habit? First it's Marc pretending to be me in front of her, now it's you. I don't need your help with her. Can I please go in my own pace?" Steven tells Jake, but Jake shook his head in a not now kind of motion.
As Jake entered the apartment after waving goodnight to you, he's met with a poor attempt of a glare from Steven "Don't look at me like that, you wanted the girl so I gave it a push."
"I want to do this on my own. Marc doesn't want me to, I don't know about you, but I don't need help. Can I please do it my way? It's all I ask."
"Can you ask her out?"
Steven pressed his lips into a line before letting out a sigh "Give me the body. I'll... try."
"Alright, alright. You go on ahead."
Steven, now in control of the body, swung open the door and he sees you struggling to find your keys. You blinked twice before smiling at him "Hi again, Stevie. My keys are just- ugh, a lot." your keychains jingle as you tried to find the right key.
"Can we go on a date after shopping this weekend?" he blurts out quickly. Steven was red as a tomato "D-Dinner date."
Your eyes lit up and you felt the butterflies in your stomach again "I'd love that! I'll just- oh! I found my key!"
And you also found the key to your locked-up heart.
