sims 4 stuff packs have returned
does not look worth paying for
especially since the sims 4 already has so much absolute cesspit hustle culture nonsense in it already (they might just be using it as a buzz word to get attention for a pack that looks like it's avery basic kitchen set, some cas stuff, and a new sales stand to sell cooked things but i still hate it already xD)
#paranormal is very genuinely the only stuff pack i think provided bang for its buck#all of them - if you're really into the aesthetics of the cas or build stuff can be worth it To You#but in terms of gameplay and value for money it was paranormal#even if i once said i found the gameplay loop it added kind of easy personally - on a thread asking for opinions on it#only for the very sensible and level headed moderator of a sims 4 fb group to get very passive aggressive and comment about how anyone#who says they found it easy is lying because it's Really Difficult#neighborly expansion pack catches my attention#im curious if they're going to be selling people updates to basegame neighborhoods with new areas or maybe it's just an expansion#that focuses on adding new worlds#or new ways to engage with houses and moving because of the house keys on the table and the bills#but all of that would be overhauls to preexisting mechanics WHICH SShouldn't Be SOLD back to the fricken player#and should instead be an update to the basegame#and also considering that we just got that fucking pack with san sequoia which was based on family gameplay and suburb vibes#another slice of life family gameplay pack so soon after is going to be a bit.... interesting....

Also, are you willing to say what script you wrote?
I did a feature length adaptation of very roughly the first 6 books of The Aeneid.
What I did was the fall of Troy (literally the night the city fell is when it starts), following Aeneas getting his family out of Troy, realizing his wife has fallen behind, and being stopped by Aphrodite (his mom, if you don't know mythology- and I used Greek names because the Romans wouldn't exist for another 500 years or so).
It focuses on the surviving Trojans escape to the fledgling Carthaginean empire and Aeneas' romance with Dido coming on the heels of his wife's death (and noting it took several months to get to Carthage, but not including those adventures or mentions of them), and the conflict being stirred up by Hera against Aeneas via Anna.
Act 3 is the Trojans escaping Carthage, Aeneas' abandonment of Dido, her death, and the curse she lays on the Trojan descendants, with a final set of end cards that reveal to the audience that Aeneas' descendants are the founders of Rome itself, which annihilated Carthage in the Punic Wars.
That way, it ends on a note that's satisfying for the viewers, but also plugs neatly in to a sequel if approved (the entire Aeneid would be done as a trilogy).
The professor told me Day 1 of class when I said that was what I wanted to write that it was going to be impossible to impress her with my script, because mythology adaptations were stale and formulaic.
And on the last day of class, she announced that I was the only student in 20 years of her teaching the course to receive a perfect score on the final draft.
#my final 1:1 was so nervewracking because my draft before that felt too straight laced and focused on aeneas#so i added in a lot more and increased the length to 1 page below the cutoff#and i was so worried about doing that on the final because no one had complained yet about what i was worried about#but the professor told me in our 1:1 after the final that she was fully prepared to bring that up#but when she read my new script she first regretted setting such a high maximum but thoroughly loved my script#and i have a minor in classical literature and culture- i have 64 awards at the state and national level for my knowledge of classics#so i deviated from the source material with purpose and in ways that stripped some of the mythology from it#and grounded it more in the world as we perceive it#but the gods were still very much a part of the story and had a very clear role to play with strong motivations#i added an element to the gods that elevated the conflict above just 'boo i don't like him'#and i'm still very proud of that#ask

im having that thing where an AU I've made has spun so off the rails it can no longer really be considered a fanwork and has enough original elements to be it's own story but also to anyone familiar with the source material it is PAINFULLY obvious who the characters are supposed to be a spin off of
#DAMN YOU APPEALING CHARACTER ARCHETYPES!!!#i once saw criticizm of origibal work that was originally a fanfic say 'what many of these lack is good world building since the fanwork#relies on pre-existing worldbuilding of the source. it instead focuses on the character dynamics which are made more uniteresting and bland#as they lack the original context'#im obviously paraphrasing theres jo way id remember a qoute that long#my point is that im having like the exact opposite problem#there is so much new worlbuilding and so much that i added or changed about the characters but I feel like if I told this story ti anyone#theyd immediately be able to clock which characters this was originally supposed to be đđ#does anyone relate? foes anyone share my plight?

Besties: Me and my Cat (CC Pack for The Sims 4)
Introducing "Besties (Part 2): Me and My Cat" CC Pack!
I'm super excited to bring you the second part of the Besties series, now focusing on our beloved feline friends! In the first part, I shared with you guys a collection all about the beautiful bond between dogs and babies. For this second part, I thought Iâd switch things up a bit. Instead of focusing on cats and babies, I wanted to highlight something just as heartwarmingâthe special relationship between cats and adults. Yes, you guessed it, Iâm talking about the delightful world of cat ladies (and gents)!
This pack has loads of goodies for your Simâs cats. There are two new versions of the cat tree: one with a cozy little house and another that looks like a cool cat gym on the wall. Your cats will love the new bed, scratchers, and another bed shaped like a tiny house. Of course, Iâve got the essentials like a litter box and food, but letâs be realâwe all know the ultimate cat item is the cardboard box!
And because I know how much Sims love their kitties, Iâve added some fun items for a cat-obsessed Simâs bedroom. I was going for an eclectic vibe this time. Thereâs a new classic bed with cute cat details on the pillows, a cat-shaped lamp for the night table, and an adorable armchair with cat accents. Plus, Iâve got new curtains and, most importantly, picture frames to show off the beauty of your Simâs cats.
Iâve put a lot of love into this CC pack and canât wait for you to enjoy it. Donât forget to tag me in your social media postsâI canât wait to see your amazing creations with your Sims and their feline besties!

"With âgreen corridorsâ that mimic the natural forest, the Colombian city is driving down temperatures â and could become five degrees cooler over the next few decades.
In the face of a rapidly heating planet, the City of Eternal Spring â nicknamed so thanks to its year-round temperate climate â has found a way to keep its cool.
Previously, MedellĂn had undergone years of rapid urban expansion, which led to a severe urban heat island effect â raising temperatures in the city to significantly higher than in the surrounding suburban and rural areas. Roads and other concrete infrastructure absorb and maintain the sunâs heat for much longer than green infrastructure.
âMedellĂn grew at the expense of green spaces and vegetation,â says Pilar Vargas, a forest engineer working for City Hall. âWe built and built and built. There wasnât a lot of thought about the impact on the climate. It became obvious that had to change.â
Efforts began in 2016 under MedellĂnâs then mayor, Federico GutiĂ©rrez (who, after completing one term in 2019, was re-elected at the end of 2023). The city launched a new approach to its urban development â one that focused on people and plants.
The $16.3 million initiative led to the creation of 30 Green Corridors along the cityâs roads and waterways, improving or producing more than 70 hectares of green space, which includes 20 kilometers of shaded routes with cycle lanes and pedestrian paths.
These plant and tree-filled spaces â which connect all sorts of green areas such as the curb strips, squares, parks, vertical gardens, sidewalks, and even some of the seven hills that surround the city â produce fresh, cooling air in the face of urban heat. The corridors are also designed to mimic a natural forest with levels of low, medium and high plants, including native and tropical plants, bamboo grasses and palm trees.
Heat-trapping infrastructure like metro stations and bridges has also been greened as part of the project and government buildings have been adorned with green roofs and vertical gardens to beat the heat. The first of those was installed at MedellĂnâs City Hall, where nearly 100,000 plants and 12 species span the 1,810 square meter surface.
âItâs like urban acupuncture,â says Paula Zapata, advisor for MedellĂn at C40 Cities, a global network of about 100 of the worldâs leading mayors. âThe city is making these small interventions that together act to make a big impact.â
At the launch of the project, 120,000 individual plants and 12,500 trees were added to roads and parks across the city. By 2021, the figure had reached 2.5 million plants and 880,000 trees. Each has been carefully chosen to maximize their impact.
âThe technical team thought a lot about the species used. They selected endemic ones that have a functional use,â explains Zapata.
The 72 species of plants and trees selected provide food for wildlife, help biodiversity to spread and fight air pollution. A study, for example, identified Mangifera indica as the best among six plant species found in MedellĂn at absorbing PM2.5 pollution â particulate matter that can cause asthma, bronchitis and heart disease â and surviving in polluted areas due to its âbiochemical and biological mechanisms.â
And the urban planting continues to this day.
The groundwork is carried out by 150 citizen-gardeners like Pineda, who come from disadvantaged and minority backgrounds, with the support of 15 specialized forest engineers. Pineda is now the leader of a team of seven other gardeners who attend to corridors all across the city, shifting depending on the current priorities...
âIâm completely in favor of the corridors,â says [Victoria Perez, another citizen-gardener], who grew up in a poor suburb in the city of 2.5 million people. âIt really improves the quality of life here.â
Wilmar Jesus, a 48-year-old Afro-Colombian farmer on his first day of the job, is pleased about the projectâs possibilities for his own future. âI want to learn more and become better,â he says. âThis gives me the opportunity to advance myself.â
The projectâs wider impacts are like a breath of fresh air. MedellĂnâs temperatures fell by 2°C in the first three years of the program, and officials expect a further decrease of 4 to 5C over the next few decades, even taking into account climate change. In turn, City Hall says this will minimize the need for energy-intensive air conditioning...
In addition, the project has had a significant impact on air pollution. Between 2016 and 2019, the level of PM2.5 fell significantly, and in turn the cityâs morbidity rate from acute respiratory infections decreased from 159.8 to 95.3 per 1,000 people [Note: That means the city's rate of people getting sick with lung/throat/respiratory infections.]
Thereâs also been a 34.6 percent rise in cycling in the city, likely due to the new bike paths built for the project, and biodiversity studies show that wildlife is coming back â one sample of five Green Corridors identified 30 different species of butterïŹy.
Other cities are already taking note. BogotĂĄ and Barranquilla have adopted similar plans, among other Colombian cities, and last year SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil, the largest city in South America, began expanding its corridors after launching them in 2022.
âFor sure, Green Corridors could work in many other places,â says Zapata."

They are generally close to the Caregiven and the Leaderâs partner/close friend. They help the Leader and Intellectual settle on ideas that are both fun and functional thus appeasing to the whole group.Â
7. The Realist
Description:
The realist is grounded and practical, providing a balanced perspective within the friend group. This character approaches situations with a level-headed attitude and often focuses on the facts at hand.
Note: While the intellectual is an inherently smart person, the realist is the apathetic and logical force of the group. They donât have to necessarily be smart but are insightful.
Traits:
Pragmatic: Values practicality and often offers sensible solutions.
Sceptical: Questions overly optimistic or unrealistic plans.
Honest: Tends to speak their mind, even when the truth is uncomfortable.
Role in the Group:
The realist often acts as a counterbalance to more idealistic characters, helping the group assess risks and make informed decisions. They provide a sense of stability, ensuring that plans are not just fun but also feasible.
Edit: you don't NEED to have 7 friends each with one persona. You also don't need to have all 7. One person can be the caregiver to A and realist to B. They can be the leader in one friend group but the comedian in another (showcasing their comfort with the latter). This is just a list to help pan out your character personality types!

Ukraine Donation Guide Master Post
(Ver. 2 updated Aug 13th, 2024) I will be reformatting this and adding more in the future when I have time.
Also a quick note, all of the groups I have found through twitter have been around long enough for them to be vetted by each other and the brigades they work with. In fact, a lot of these groups collaborate with each other too. Those that are in the fight for Ukraine have been diligent in calling out those that are grifters. Word spreads around quickly if an organization doesn't show up with what they promised. They also use their social media (often Twitter) as a means of transparency for their work.
Remember: When considering on whether to donate, always use your best judgement and donate to those you trust if you do not see what is listed is up to your standards.
Multi-Purpose
United 24 has various fundraisers dedicated to defense and drones, medical aid, rebuilding Ukraine, humanitarian demining, and science and education. You can pick which one you want to contribute to under their various projects.
Liberty Ukraine uses funds for humanitarian aid, medical supplies, protective gear and equipment, and rehabilitation therapy. You can choose which campaign of theirs to donate to.
Come Back Alive is a charitable foundation that supports Ukraine's military with competent assistance while also focusing on security and defense. They also have projects that use sports to help veterans rehabilitate. You can choose which campaign to donate to.
Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation works to help both civilians and Ukraine's army. You can choose to donate to an active project or any of their general campaigns. Civilian aid campaigns cover temporary housing, supporting crisis and emergency responses, schools, demining, and healthcare. Military aid campaigns cover drones, optics units, communications equipment, and support of air defense teams.
Food Aid
World Central Kitchen works with local partners wherever they are providing food aid. They make sure meals and meal kits are what the local population eats. Even though there is no separate fundraising campaign for Ukraine (that I can see), they still do great work.
Animal Rescue
Hachiko Foundation works to help displaced pets and strays in frontline areas. They help with veterinary care, outdoor shelters, setting up feeding stations, and rehoming animals.
Medical Aid
Hospitallers (Website) is a volunteer organization of paramedics that was founded in 2014. They evacuate the wounded, provide medical aid on the frontlines, assist in rehabilitation, and transfer of the deceased to burial sites. They are also supported by Ukraine Charity. Visit Hospitallers' website to see how many they have evacuated, different methods you can donate, and more information about them.
Other
Saint Javelin (Twitter; Website) is a great place to get apparel, gear, and other cool loot to show your support for Ukraine. They don't take donations, but instead raise funds through their shop with a portion of their sales going towards humanitarian aid and critical items needed by the defenders (generators, pick-up trucks, medical supplies etc). Part of their shop has items made in Ukraine to support Ukrainian businesses. Overall, their products are high-quality. I include them due to their impactful presence in the Twitter community I follow and how they make Ukraine visible in an alternative way. Consider buying someone a gift from their shop.
The Kyiv Independent (Twitter; Website) is a great English language resource for news about Ukraine. I include them because I think supporting good journalism is incredibly important, especially now when the information space is fraught with Russian propaganda, misinformation, and disinformation. My followers have probably noticed I've pulled a lot of quotes from their stories in an effort to amplify Ukrainian voices and experiences. Look on their website for more information on different way to support them, such as their Patreon.
---
If you're on twitter, there are a number of groups and people that fundraise for Ukraine and for specific units fighting on the frontlines. If there is no official website, a PayPal for donations is listed in their profiles. When considering on whether to donate, always use your best judgement and donate to those you trust if you do not see what is listed is up to your standards.
@/Teoyaomiquu almost always has a fundraiser for Liberty Ukraine with a specified purpose. At the time of writing this, he is currently raising funds for engineering equipment such as excavators. One such excavator is already in Kursk. Follow him to stay up to date with what he's fundraising for.
Dyga's Paw (Twitter: @/dzygaspaw) is a smaller group that has recently raised funds for starlinks, drones, batteries, and Ecoflow generators. You can look at the fundraising campaigns they currently have on their website.
@/DefactoHumanity represents and founded Planet of the People with their website U(a)nited for Freedom. She frequently posts updates about their fundraisers and what their partners need. They are known for providing Frontline medical aid supplies, protective equipment and other military aid, technical equipment (starlinks, drones, scopes, etc), and infrastructure equipment (generators, vehicles, power stations, etc). They even have a merch store of the battalions they partner with if that's your jam. Here is their link tree if you wish to explore more. And in case you're curious, there is an article bout the founder here.
@/wilendhornets (Website) specialize in making high quality drones that have gotten a lot of praise from Ukraine's army. They have attracted a lot of media attention too. Check out their website for the list of articles that have been written about them. Their Twitter is very active with strike footage.
Ants Kitchen Hub (@/ants_kyiv) is a volunteer kitchen that makes dry rations for the Ukrainian army. They are more active on their other social media. To learn more about them, check out their link tree.
@/frontlinekit (Front Line Kitchen) is represented by Richard Woodruff. Originally they made shelf stable food for the Ukrainian army, but now their fundraising has branched out to other campaigns such as raising funds for medical supplies and drones. They are a well known group that many battalions have come to for help.
@/bekamaciorowski (Rebekah Maciorowski) is as combat medic and nurse who helps provide medical care to soldiers and civillians at the frontlines. She raises funds for medical supplies and other equipment, but also helps train soldiers in first aid. More of her social media that features her work can be found in her link tree.
@/UkraineAidOps (Website) is another organization battalions frequently go to for help. They fundraise for all sorts of equipment from medical supplies to drones. If you're interested, they also have a shop with patches from different brigades and flags signed by soldiers. Their shop also includes a separate section called the Victory Gallery where artifacts from the war are turned into art. This includes shells that are painted on, scrap metal from downed enemy planes are turned into keychains, and pieces of a rocket are turned into lamps.
Chris Garrett is the co-founder of Prevail. His organization deals with humanitarian demining as well as training for trauma care, training of bomb disposal, and education to the public. Prevail works with local agencies in Ukraine as well as the army.
Project Konstantin (Twitter; Website; Linktree) is still going strong after the death of their founder, British paramedic Peter Fouché. His digital ghost can be found here. They collaborate with the military, thus giving them an insight into what is dearly needed. They often raise funds for starlinks, personalized first aid kits (IFAKs), generators, portable power stations, and other nonlethal military equipment. I regret forgetting them the first time this post went around. Visit their website to see everything they have done and more. It has more information on what and how they do it than this post can cover.
One Team One Fight (Twitter; Website; Linktree) has some of the original members that worked for Ukraine Aid Ops. They formed their own group after differences with the previous one, and are still helping Ukraine. They are very visible on various social media showing what they have accomplished in their deliveries to various brigades. They're another group that seeks to bring starlinks, drones, medical supplies and protective gear to the battalions that come to them for help. Check out their website for more information on their current fundraisers, their achievements, and received recognition.
NAFO 69th Sniffing Brigade (Twitter; Website) Another small group that focuses their funds on delivering drones, generators, vehicles, and saving the occasional furry companion. They are very diligent in their updates for their fundraising campaigns. Check out their website for more information and the articles written about them.
Postmaster General Boomer (Twitter; Website) focuses on humanitarian aid, animal aid, and logistics. Boomer is the beloved pet of one of the founders and the secret boss/mascot. They have many transparency reports and are diligent in reporting the various "tours" they do in getting supplies where they are needed to go. They are based in Germany but have built up many connections during their existence. They have also worked closely with Ukraine Aid Ops.
--
I am sure I have forgotten some, so please reply or comment with any more I should add to this master post. I will edit and update as I see and evaluate more.

spoiled little girlfriend : gojo satoru, geto suguru
gojo was lying on your shared bed, his long legs stretched out as he sifted through some paperwork. the soft glow from the bedside lamp illuminated his sharp features, making his white hair seem even brighter against the dark sheets. he was deeply focused, his brows slightly furrowed in concentration.
you walked into the bedroom, eyes glued to your phone as you scrolled through a message or maybe a funny video that caught your attention. you didn't even notice how the soft tapping of your footsteps caught gojo's attention. he looked up from his papers, a faint smile playing on his lips as he watched you.
âbaby,â you called out casually, still focused on your phone. your voice was sweet, but there was a hint of playfulness in it, like you were about to ask him for something or share a joke.
as you spoke, the sound of running water in the bathroom stopped. geto, freshly showered, stepped out with a towel draped casually around his neck. his wet hair clung to his forehead, droplets of water sliding down his neck and bare chest. he looked relaxed, his eyes warm and soft as he caught sight of you and gojo.
âyes, love?â gojo asked, his voice laced with curiosity as he watched you, his paperwork momentarily forgotten. he shifted slightly on the bed, making space for you to join him.
you bent down to the bed with your feet still touching the wooden floor. your elbows prop against the soft material while your eyes are still focusing on your phone, finger softly scroll through the screen.
âcartier just released a new necklace, look,â you said and show gojo your phone screen. gojo's eyes flick from your face to your phone, his gaze lingering on the expensive piece of jewelry displayed on the screen. his lips curl into a slight smirk as he notices your interest in the accessory, a hint of mischief in his eyes.
âlooks very pretty, baby,â he replied, his voice carrying a touch of teasing, âyou want me to buy it for you?â he casually set his paperwork aside, his full attention now on you and the necklace you were showing him.
you smiled brightly, your eyes lighting up with excitement as you nodded eagerly. âyes, please,â you replied, your voice soft but full of anticipation.
gojo chuckled, enjoying the eager look in your eyes as you nodded. he knew you had a penchant for pretty trinkets, and he'd often indulged you whenever you had your eye on something.
âof course, darling. anything for you,â he said, his own smile broadening at your excitement. geto, who had been silently watching the exchange from the bathroom door, raised an eyebrow in amusement. he couldn't help but chime in from the side, a teasing tone in his voice. âyou're so whipped,â he remarked with a smirk.
gojo glanced at geto, his grin turning into a playful smirk. âi'm working my ass off and have all this money for what if not to spoil my girlfriend?â he replied, his tone half-serious, half-teasing.
he leaned back against the pillows, folding his arms behind his head, looking completely satisfied with himself. âbesides,â he added, throwing a fond smile your way while you already engrossed by your phone, âseeing her smile like that is worth every penny.â
geto chuckled as he wiped his wet hair with the towel around his broad shoulders. he leaned against the door frame and crossed his arms over his chest, his gaze going from gojo to you before settling back on the white-haired man.
âlooks like our little darling has you wrapped around her little finger,â he teased, the corner of his mouth twitching with a hint of laughter. gojo smirked back at him but didn't deny it. instead, he turned his attention back to you, his eyes warm and affectionate as he regarded you.
your focus had already shifted back to your phone as they talked, completely absorbed in the world of sparkling jewels and elegant designs. the soft glow from the screen illuminated your face, and they could see the twinkle in your eyes, like twin stars, as you scrolled through the jewelry catalog.
you were in your own world, mesmerized by the shiny things, barely registering the playful exchange between gojo and geto. a small, contented smile played on your lips as you admired each piece, your excitement palpable even in your silence.
both gojo and geto chuckled at the sight of your absorption in the jewelry catalog, finding your innocent fascination as endearing as it was amusing. gojo's smirk softened into a fond smile as he observed your reaction, watching as you became immersed in the luxurious items that filled the screen.
âlook at her,â geto murmured to gojo, his voice betraying his own amusement, âalways lost in the world of pretty things.â
their gazes softening as they observed your captivated expression. it was endearing how easily you got distracted by material possessions, yet they couldn't deny the genuine joy it seemed to bring to you.
geto pushed off from the door frame and walked over to the bed, his footsteps soft and silent. he sat down on the edge of the bed next to you, his towel still hanging around his neck. he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
gojo spoke up, his voice smooth and laced with affection. âhoney, you're gonna burn a hole through that screen the way you're staring at it.â
as geto sat down next to you, you barely noticed, still engrossed in the jewelry catalogue. gojo's words finally drew your attention back to the room, and you looked up at him, a small pout forming on your lips.
âi can't help it,â you said defensively. âthey're so pretty,â you added, your eyes wandering back to your phone screen. geto chuckled softly and reached over, his hand gently taking the phone from yours. his touch was warm and light, yet firm enough to pull your focus away.
you softly protested, âhey...â your eyes followed as geto held your phone, a pout forming on your lips. âit was getting good,â you mumbled, a hint of frustration in your voice as you watched him take the phone away. your gaze lingered on the screen, clearly longing to go back to admiring the jewelry, but geto's gentle but firm hold kept you from diving back into your shiny distraction.
âi know, sweetheart, but you've been glued to that screen for so long,â geto said, his voice gentle yet authoritative. he set your phone down on the bedside table, making sure it was well-out of your reach.
gojo chuckled, enjoying the little display of rebellion in your pout and the stubbornness in your eyes. âdon't worry,â he teased, âwe'll make sure you get all the shiny pretty things you want.â
you opened your mouth to protest, but gojo's words took the wind out of your sails. the idea of getting all the jewelry you wanted was too tempting to resist. your pout slowly faded, replaced by a curious expression.
âall of them?â you asked, your voice soft and timid, your gaze shifted to them, a hint of skepticism in your eyes. geto smiled, a knowing smirk playing on the corner of his lips. âof course,â he reassures, âwhatever your heart desires.â
you tried to hold back your smile, sucking it in for a brief moment, but the excitement was too much to contain. your eyes lit up as you finally let your smile break free, beaming brightly. âokay,â you agreed, your voice filled with happiness, the idea of getting everything you wanted making you giddy with excitement.
gojo and geto exchanged a glance, their own smiles mirroring your happiness. they loved how easy it was to make you happy. gojo chuckled, a glimmer of mischief in his eyes. âyou're practically vibrating with excitement,â he teased, his hand reached out to ruffle your hair.
geto leaned in slightly, his tone serious but filled with fondness, âwe'll give you everything you want, my sweetheart.â
your smile grew even wider in their words, warmth flooding your chest as you looked between them. âiâm going to wear the necklace for our anniversary,â you declared, your voice filled with excitement and affection. the thought of showing off something they got for you on such a special day made your heart flutter.
you glanced back at the phone on the bedside table, your mind already imagining how perfect it would look with your outfit. âitâs going to be perfect,â you added, your eyes shining as you thought about the upcoming celebration with them.
gojo and geto exchanged a knowing look, smiles tugging at the corners of their lips as they took in your excitement. gojo leaned back against the pillows, his eyes warm and adoring as he watched you.
âyou'll look absolutely beautiful,â he said, his voice soft and affectionate, âwe can't wait to see you wear it.â geto added, his own smile growing wider, âit'll be the perfect accessory to match your gorgeous dress that we'll be buying you for the occasion.â
you felt a warm flutter in your chest as gojo gently tugged on your arm, guiding you to climb onto the bed. with a soft smile, you nestled between them, the familiar comfort of being surrounded by their warmth putting you at ease. as you settled in, geto reached for your phone on the bedside table and handed it back to you, his fingers brushing lightly against yours.
âletâs find you another jewels,â geto suggested, his voice low and filled with affection as he encouraged you to continue your search. with both of them beside you, their attention fully on you, the moment felt perfect. your excitement renewed, you eagerly returned to the jewelry catalog, ready to pick out the next piece with their help.
gojo wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulled you closer against him. his warmth emanated from his body, and you could feel it seeping into yours, while geto leaned over your shoulder, his chin resting lightly on it as he looked at the screen with you.
as you scroll through the jewelry catalog, they both chimed in, suggesting pieces here and there, offering opinions, and throwing in playful comments. every time you paused on something you liked, they made sure to remind you that they would get it for you.

Love Story for the New Age- Nicholas Chavez x Fem!Reader
summaryâ your love story with nicholas unfolds amidst the chaos of fame and paparazzi as you explore NYC together.
warningsâ nothing explicit. fluff, kissing, ass squeezing, established relationship, protective and sweetheart nicholas.
a/nâ read while listening to National Anthem by Lana Del Rey, preferably the demo version but the released works <3
You walked down the bustling streets of New York, hand in hand with Nicholas, heads down, sunglasses shielding your faces from the curious eyes of passersby. Security followed a few steps behind, giving space but always watchful. The city's constant hum surrounded you, honking taxis, the chatter of people, and the distant murmur of traffic. New York a couple years ago seemed like a distant dream but here you were, on a casual day.
As you passed a cozy-looking restaurant, the smell of food made you glance up. Just then, a woman working inside recognized Nicholas, her face lighting up in excitement. âI love your work! Youâre amazing!â she exclaimed, âyouâre even better looking in person.â
He smiled warmly, still holding on to your hand. âThank you,â he said, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. You felt a wave of pride, seeing him appreciated for his talent and staying so down-to-earth despite his new found popularity.
The woman, clearly eager to please, offered, âWould you both like to skip the line? I can get you seated right away.â He politely declined, shaking his head. âNo, thank you. Weâll wait our turn.â
You couldnât help but feel proud of him in that moment. Despite his fame, he remained humble and grounded. As you stood in line together, your heart swelled with admiration, grateful for the man beside you who stayed true to himself, even with the world watching.
âIâm proud of you,â you smiled, looking up at him.
âI know you are baby, itâs nothing, I just did what I was supposed to.â Always so humble.
After waiting for a few minutes you were finally seated with the promise that someone would be with you to take your orders.
The cozy ambiance of the restaurant was a welcome break from the chaos outside. As you scanned the options, you smiled and decided on pasta, having heard rave reviews about the restaurantâs dishes.
âThe last time I ordered pasta from a restaurant it was so bad, I swear to god if itâs bad again Iâll scream,â you groaned. Nicholas, still glancing over the menu, seemed to be carefully considering his choice.
Just as you were about to put the menu down, a sudden flash caught your eye. You blinked, confused, and glanced toward the window. Outside, a group of paparazzi had gathered, their cameras pointed directly at you both, flashing non-stop.
You gasped and turned to Nicholas. âOh my God, did you call them? You didnât call them, did you?â He shook his head, looking just as surprised as you. âNo, of course not. Why would I do that? This is crazy.â
You let out a small giggle despite yourself, but the constant barrage of camera flashes started to get on your nerves. Annoyed, you shielded your face with your hand. Nicholas did the same, his jaw tightening as the flashing continued. Neither of you moved, trying to keep the moment from spiraling into full-blown chaos, but the attention was unsettling.
Finally, the waitress approached the table with a warm smile. She complimented your hair, making you smile despite the chaos around you, and then turned to your boyfriend.
âI have to say,â she began, âyour acting in Monsters was incredible. I just love the show and sympathize with the Menendez brothers.â
Nicholas gave her a grateful smile, genuinely touched by the compliment. âThank you so much, thatâs really sweet of you,â he responded, his tone soft and appreciative.
âSheâs sweet,â you added, after the waitress left with your orders written down.
You noticed, though, that the first woman whoâd greeted you earlier had barely acknowledged your presence. It stung a little, but you brushed it off, focusing instead on the waitressâs kindness and his down-to-earth reaction.
Outside, the paparazzi continued to snap pictures occasionally, but the intensity had lessened. Now, they seemed content with waiting for the two of you to finish your meal, no doubt hoping for more shots or a word as you left.
âI used to think celebrities called paparazzi on themselves but you didnât and here they are,â you chuckled, sinking into your seat.
âMe too baby,â he reached across and caressed your hand in his, âI know itâs annoying and feels stalkerish but Iâll deal with it.â
You were content with his response. Paparazzi was dangerous, growing up you believed they were responsible for Britney Spearsâ despise, tormenting her and catching her at her most vulnerable moments. The media had a frenzy with the pictures they would capture and you didnât want that for Nicholas. You didnât want them to paint a false narrative of him like they did so many other famous people. They were inhumane.
After the food arrived, you dug into your pasta and instantly lit up. âOh my God, this is so good, Nick!â you exclaimed, your eyes wide with delight.
Nicholas smiled at you, leaning in to take a bite from your plate. Just as he tasted it, there was another flash. The paparazzi had caught the moment right as he savored the pasta.
You giggled, shaking your head. âI hope they got our good side,â you teased, causing both of you to burst into laughter.
When the meal was over, you reached for your purse, ready to pay for both of you, but Nicholas was one step ahead. He had already slipped your card out earlier and left it in the car. âI wanted to pay!â you said, playfully annoyed, crossing your arms.
He grinned at you, shaking his head. âAs long as youâre with me, you wonât even open your purse,â he said smoothly. âYou donât have to pay for anything. Iâm your boyfriend, and Iâm going to make sure you feel good, even with the little things.â
You rolled your eyes playfully but couldnât help smiling at how sweet and protective he was. He left a generous tip for the sweet waitress, who looked genuinely surprised. âOh my God, thank you! I really needed this,â she said, her voice full of gratitude. She admired the gesture, clearly moved by his kindness.
He smiled humbly, but you could tell he was proud of making someoneâs day.
âYou didnât have to do that, but you really helped someone today,â you said, smiling up at him.
As you got up to leave, the paparazzi were still lurking outside, snapping more photos. You had an idea. âLetâs give them something to talk about,â you said, grinning at Nicholas. He raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
You both struck a sexy pose for the cameras. Nicholas stood behind you, his hand casually resting on your waist, but just as the flashes went off, he cheekily grabbed your ass. You both laughed, knowing that picture would be all over the tabloids in no time, regrettably but you posed none the less, your hands on his chest, looking lovingly at the fine specimen of a man before you then placing a kiss on his lips.
With the flashes still going, you headed to the car, your security team ensuring the way was clear. As you got in, the paparazzi tried to shove their cameras into the car for more photos, almost hitting you in the face with their cameras. Nicholas quickly turned, his protective side kicking in.
âBack off, get out of my girlfriendâs face!â he snapped, glaring at them. You couldnât help but feel a rush from the way he defended you, a little turned on by his assertiveness.
You both laughed together, the adrenaline still buzzing. As the driver sped off, you watched as the paparazzi tried to follow, but soon enough, they fell behind. You and Nicholas shared a satisfied smile, knowing youâd outpaced them.
When you and Nicholas finally arrived back at the hotel, you sighed in relief, glad to be there safely. As the car pulled into the hotelâs private garage, the dayâs chaos finally seemed behind you. Earlier, you had thought about how these wild paparazzi chases could be dangerous, remembering the tragedy of the woman you admired, Princess Diana. It was believed that the paparazzi played a role in that accident, a sobering reminder of how things could spiral out of control.
Now, though, the two of you were safe inside, away from the frenzy. You decided to stay in for the night, curling up together in the cozy comfort of your suite. After changing into something comfortable, Nicholas ordered room service, and you both settled down on the bed. He wrapped his arm around you, pulling you close as you watched a movie.
He pressed a kiss to your forehead, then your cheek, before finding your lips. The kisses were soft and warm, a show of the love between you.
âIâm so proud of you,â you whispered, looking up at him. âFor staying true to yourself today, even with everything going on. I love how grounded you are.â
He smiled at you, brushing stray curls behind your ear. âI wouldnât want to do any of this with anyone else,â he replied softly. âI love you.â
As the night went on, you snuggled closer, feeling safe and loved in his arms. You reached for your phone, curious to what was brewing in the media. When you unlocked it, your eyes widened in shock.
âOh my God,â you muttered, sitting up. Your boyfriend glanced over curiously as you scrolled through your feed. The pictures from the day had blown up all over social media. TMZ, The Shade Room, TikTok, everyone had caught onto the story. Headlines and comments were flooding in.
âThis is the IT couple. This is a love story for the new age,â one article declared in bold letters.
People were raving about how happy they were to see Nicholas with a woman of color, and they couldnât stop talking about how beautiful you were. You were overwhelmed, feeling both flattered and a bit surprised by all the attention.
He glanced at the screen, smiling softly before pulling you back against him. âYou donât need their compliments to know youâre beautiful,â he said, his voice low and affectionate. âIâm the lucky one. I get to be with you.â
You blushed, your heart swelling at his words. Leaning in, you kissed him gently on the lips before snuggling back into his chest. He planted another kiss on your forehead, and the two of you settled in for the night. Oh how you loved to be wrapped in the handsome manâs muscular arms.

" BENEATH THE SURFACE "
đ đđđđđđđ đđđ
đđ â a ruthless criminal mastermind who commands fear and respect, yet becomes dangerously obsessive when it comes to you, willing to destroy anyone who dares to get too close, and ensuring you're always under his control . . .
đ Trigger Warnings: Obsession, manipulation, possessiveness, threats of violence, and stalking.
College was draining enough without the added stress of trying to make ends meet. Working at the café helped pay the bills, but you were still behind on rent, your fridge was nearly empty, and your textbooks were secondhand disasters held together with duct tape.
You sighed as you wiped the counter for what felt like the hundredth time today. The café was relatively quiet for a Friday night, the usual rush replaced by the hum of soft jazz playing over the speakers.
The doorbell chimed, pulling you out of your thoughts.
You turned to greet the new customer, your smile practiced but polite. âWelcome! What can I get for youâ"
Your words faltered when you looked up.
He was... striking. Impeccably dressed in a dark suit that screamed luxury, his presence was commanding and utterly magnetic. His sharp jawline and piercing eyes had an almost predatory gleam as they locked onto you.
âJust a coffee,â he said, his voice smooth as velvet. âBlack.â
âComing right up,â you said, quickly averting your gaze and focusing on the task at hand.
Something about him made your skin prickle. He didnât look like your usual customer, and the way his eyes lingered on you felt... intense.
When you placed his cup on the counter, his fingers brushed against yours as he took it. The contact was brief, but it sent a chill down your spine.
âThank you, Y/n,â he said, his lips curling into a small smile.
You froze. âHow do you know my name?â
He chuckled, taking a sip of his coffee. âYouâre wearing a name tag.â
Relief washed over you, and you gave a nervous laugh. âRight. Of course.â
But as he walked away to sit in the corner booth, a nagging feeling settled in your chest. You hadnât been wearing your name tag today.
---
Over the next few weeks, he became a regular at the café. Always sitting in the same booth, always ordering the same coffee. He never stayed long, but his presence was impossible to ignore.
You couldnât shake the feeling that he was watching you, though he never said much beyond polite small talk. It was unsettling, yet oddly flattering. A man like himâwealthy, confident, and undeniably attractiveâpaying attention to someone like you? It didnât make sense.
Then, one night, everything changed.
---
The café was closing, and you were the last one left, cleaning up after another long shift. You were locking the front door when you noticed a sleek black car idling across the street.
Your stomach twisted uneasily as you hurried down the sidewalk, clutching your bag tightly.
âY/n.â
You froze.
He was leaning against the lamppost, his suit as immaculate as ever, his eyes gleaming under the streetlight.
âWhat are you doing here?â you asked, your voice trembling.
âI was waiting for you,â he said simply, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Your heart pounded as he took a step closer, his presence overwhelming. âWhy?â
âBecause Iâve decided I donât like the idea of you walking home alone,â he said, his tone calm but leaving no room for argument.
âIâm fine,â you said quickly, trying to step around him, but his hand shot out, grabbing your wrist.
âYou donât understand, Y/n,â he said, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. âThere are people out there who would hurt you. People who wouldnât think twice about taking advantage of someone as... vulnerable as you.â
âLet go of me,â you said, panic creeping into your voice.
His grip tightened slightly, his eyes narrowing. âYou donât get it, do you? Iâm trying to protect you.â
âFrom what?â you demanded, struggling against his hold.
âFrom everyone. From this world that doesnât deserve you.â
His words sent a chill down your spine. You stared at him, your fear growing as the realization dawned on you.
âYouâve been following me,â you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
âI had to,â he admitted, his tone softening. âI had to make sure you were safe. Do you have any idea what itâs like to see you struggle? To know youâre barely scraping by while I could give you everything youâve ever wanted?â
You shook your head, tears welling in your eyes. âYou donât even know me!â
âOh, but I do,â he said, his free hand brushing a strand of hair from your face. âIâve watched you for months, Y/n. I know how hard you work, how kind you are even when the world doesnât deserve it. Youâre perfect.â
His words were like chains, wrapping around you and pulling you deeper into his control.
âYouâre insane,â you whispered, your voice trembling.
âMaybe,â he said, his lips curling into a small, bitter smile. âBut I wonât let anyone else have you.â
Before you could respond, the black car pulled up beside you. The door opened, and he gestured for you to get in.
âDonât fight this, Y/n,â he said, his voice both pleading and commanding. âIâll take care of you. Iâll give you a life worth living. But if you try to run... I canât promise what Iâll do.â
Your heart pounded as you stared at him, your body frozen in fear.
âGet in the car,â he repeated, his tone firm.
And in that moment, you realized you had no choice.

Tokyo Drift - N.R
P: Racer!Ni-ki X Fem!Reader
Warnings: Teasing, Possessive Behaviour, Fluff
Synopsis: In the heart of the underground racing scene, you are a passionate starter, known for your ability to ignite excitement before each race. When you first meet Nishimura Ni-ki, a legendary driver, you are initially intimidated by him. However during the races you capture his attention.
a/n: knowing you have the attention of someone like Ni-ki is exciting tbh.. ANYWAYS i am a HUGE lover of the fast & furious franchise so this was quite overdue!! (inspired by this edit : TikTok - Make Your Day)
âââ ââ
ââ
â ââ
"I don't get why I have to be there for every race you do," you said, glancing over at your friend, who was gripping the steering wheel with one hand, the other casually shifting gears.
"Because you're the starter," he replied, his tone like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"There are other starters," you shot back. "I'm not the only one."
He raised an eyebrow, a slight smirk playing on his lips as he asked, "Do you have anything better to do than attend these races?"
You opened your mouth, ready with a rebuttal, but nothing came. After a beat, you closed your mouth and sank back into the seat.
"Yeah, exactly," he said, smug. "Plus, it's good for you to get out and meet new people."
The music from the radio blared a little louder as he cranked up the volume. You sighed, fiddling with the edge of your shirt.
"And it gives you more insight for the big race next month," he added, his eyes focused on the road ahead as the car sped past traffic.
"But that's weeks away," you mumbled under your breath, shifting your gaze out the window, watching the blur of lights and cars fly by.
"You know youâll thank me later," he said, his voice laced with confidence as he pushed the car to go even faster.
As your friend parked the car, the tires crunching on the gravel beneath, you stepped out and took in the scene. Despite the late hour, the area was alive, glowing under huge industrial lights that bathed the lot in an artificial brightness. Cars were everywhere, a chaotic lineup of souped-up rides with booming music, others showing off their horsepower, engines roaring as they drifted in tight circles.
"Did you want to be a starter today?" your friend asked, leaning casually against the roof of his car.
You shrugged. "Sure," you replied, though your energy didnât quite match the excitement of the crowd.
Walking away, you strolled past rows of cars, admiring their sleek designs and custom paint jobs, the polished metal gleaming under the lights. You ignored the catcalls from a group of guys leaning against a low-rider, keeping your focus ahead. Tonight, you werenât dressed to impressâjust something simple, thrown on after your friend dragged you out of the house. But your bandana was tied around your wrist, the familiar black-and-white checkered pattern standing out. It was your signature, the same one you used to signal the start of every race.
The energy around you was electric, the thrum of engines mixing with the bass-heavy beats from the cars parked nearby. You wound your way through the crowd, feeling a strange mix of familiarity and detachment. You werenât really in the mood to be here, but this scene always had a way of pulling you in.
After a bit of wandering, you spotted some familiar facesâpeople you knew from past races, ones who recognized you right away. They greeted you with nods and half-smiles, pulling you into their small circle.
After hanging around for a bit, chatting with familiar faces, you eventually found yourself drifting toward the starting line. As the races kicked off, your friend waved you over, a sly grin on his face. "Looks like they need a starter," he said, tossing a glance toward the eager crowd of racers lining up. You could already feel the pull, the electricity in the air calling to you.
With a nod, you stepped forward, positioning yourself between two cars. The engines growled, their headlights casting long shadows across the pavement, illuminating your figure as you stood in the middle. Both drivers stared ahead, hands gripping the wheels, laser-focused on the moment. And then there was youâat the center of it all. The one who would signal the start.
You raised your bandana high, feeling the fabric tight around your wrist. The engines revved in response, their deep rumbling vibrating through the ground beneath your feet. All eyes were on you now. The weight of the anticipation, the intensity in the airâit made your pulse quicken.
With a swift motion, you dropped your hand, and like a spark igniting gasoline, the cars exploded forward, tires screeching and smoke billowing up behind them. The sound of engines roaring filled your ears as they sped past, kicking up dust and gravel in their wake. You couldnât help the smile that spread across your face, the rush of adrenaline coursing through you as you watched them disappear into the distance.
The thrill was undeniable. That moment when everything paused, when the world held its breath before you dropped the flagâit was exhilarating, addictive even.
Race after race, you found yourself sinking into the rhythm of it. Standing between two roaring machines, feeling the raw power they held, and knowing you controlled the moment they unleashed it. The vibrations from the engines, the cheers from the crowd, the smell of burning rubberâit all swirled around you, making you forget about the lazy mood you'd been in earlier.
After another race, you dusted your hands off, feeling the faint tremble of excitement still lingering in your fingers. You were enjoying yourself now, more than youâd expected. This was your elementâthe rush, the control, the fleeting moments where everything slowed before it erupted into chaos.
âââ ââ
ââ
â ââ
You stood with a group of women, chatting casually and enjoying the scene, when a familiar lime-green Mazda rolled up to the line. The car was loud and flashy, just like its driver. You rolled your eyes the moment you saw Haruto step out, all swagger and energy, hyping the crowd as if they hadnât seen him race a hundred times before. He soaked in the attention, pointing fingers at people he knew, already talking trash with the other drivers.
âHere we goâŠâ you muttered under your breath, more annoyed than amused. Haruto was goodâeveryone knew thatâbut his ego was twice the size of his talent.
Just as you were about to turn away, a sleek silver Mitsubishi pulled up to the starting line next. It immediately caught your attention. You whistled low under your breath, admiring the carâs perfect blend of black and white racing stripes that seemed to melt into the silver body like it was designed for this very moment.
âNo wayâŠâ you heard Ryujin, one of your friends, murmur next to you, her voice a mix of disbelief and excitement.
You turned your head to her, eyebrows raised. âWhat?â
She didnât take her eyes off the car as she spoke. âHeâs racing against Nishimura.â
Your heart skipped a beat at the name. âWait⊠Nishimura?â You whipped your head back to the Mitsubishi, squinting to get a better look at the driver behind the tinted windows.
Everyone in the racing world knew who Nishimura was. His rise was meteoric. A few years ago, heâd been a no-name rookie, just another driver trying to make his mark. But that quickly changed. He became a legend on the underground circuit, with a reputation for being nearly unbeatable. But the man himself? You had never seen him in person. You'd only heard the storiesâhow he drove like he was born for the track, a natural who didnât play by anyoneâs rules.
Now, standing there, you couldnât help but feel a rush of curiosity and awe. The Mitsubishi was sleek, powerful, but that wasnât what had your attention. It was the knowledge that the man behind the wheel was one of the best to ever do it, and tonight, youâd finally get to see him race.
The crowd around you buzzed with energy, whispering Nishimuraâs name like it carried some kind of magic. You felt the tension rising, a sense that something bigger than the usual street race was about to happen.
You glanced at Ryujin. âThis is going to be over quick, isnât it?â
She nodded, her eyes glued to the track. âYou have no idea.â
As Haruto climbed back into his car, showboating as always, you suddenly felt hands on your back as Karina playfully shoved you forward. "Go on!" she giggled, clearly enjoying herself.
You shot her a wide-eyed look of disbelief. "Donât push!" you huffed, but your feet had already carried you forward, right into the middle of the two revving cars. The roar of the engines surrounded you, vibrating through the air and into your bones. Standing there, between Harutoâs lime-green Mazda and the sleek Mitsubishi, you felt a surge of energy.
With a stern look, you raised your arms to get their attention. "Now I want a clean race! From both of you," you shouted, pointing between them. You narrowed your eyes specifically at Haruto, who was known to pull sneaky tricks when he got desperate. "No tricks, or jukes."
Haruto revved his engine in response, flashing his usual cocky grin, though his eyes darted toward the Mitsubishi, and for the first time, you noticed a hint of stiffness in his posture. He knew this wasnât going to be an easy win.
"Ready?" you asked, locking eyes with him. He revved up again, the Mazda growling under the pressure, but his attention was split, clearly sizing up the competition.
Then you turned toward the Mitsubishi. "Ready?" you called, and the carâs engine roared to life, a smooth, confident sound that sent a shiver down your spine. You couldnât see through the dark windows, but you felt something different in the airâa tension you couldnât quite place.
With a smirk, you raised your bandana high. "Go!" you shouted, waving it down. Both cars shot off the line like bullets, the roar of their engines drowning out the cheers from the crowd as they sped past you. Dust kicked up in their wake, but you stood your ground, watching as they tore through the track, navigating the turns with precision and speed.
As you turned to walk back to your spot, you didnât know the effect youâd had.
Inside the Mitsubishi, Nishimura had almost missed his cue. The moment youâd stepped out onto the track, his focus had shifted completely. The fierce concentration he was known for had wavered. For a split second, heâd forgotten where he was, what he was doing, and what was at stake. All he could see was you, standing between the two cars, commanding the moment with confidence and authority. It was enough to throw him offâa rarity for someone like him.
It wasnât until he saw you pointing directly at him that he snapped out of it, realizing he hadnât revved his engine. He quickly corrected himself, the roar of the car snapping back into focus as he gunned the accelerator and sped off.
But even as he tore through the turns, effortlessly drifting and leaving Haruto in the dust, his mind kept slipping back to you. He couldnât shake the image of you standing there, completely unbothered by the chaos around you.
By the time the race was nearing its end, Nishimura was far ahead, his car slicing through the night with ease. Haruto didnât stand a chance, but the victory was almost secondary. Nishimuraâs pulse raced with a different kind of adrenaline, one that had nothing to do with the thrill of the race.
His car roared as it crossed the finish line, its sleek frame gliding effortlessly under the neon lights. The crowd erupted into cheers, but his mind wasnât on the race. As he pulled his car to a stop and cut the engine, the world seemed to quiet down, everything slowing for just a moment.
He exhaled, unfastened his seatbelt, and pushed open the door. Stepping out of the car, his lean frame emerged, his hair slightly tousled from the speed and wind. The crowd surged toward him, hyping up his victory, chanting his name, but Nishimuraâs focus was elsewhere.
His eyes scanned the crowd, searching. It wasnât the win that made his pulse raceâit was you.
When his gaze landed on you, and for a moment, it felt like the world had narrowed to just the two of you. His eyes held yours, a mix of curiosity and something you couldn't quite place, but it made your heart race.
Just as you were about to process the moment, the spell was broken by a familiar voice. "You ready to go home?" Your friend appeared beside you, jingling his keys with a grin. You blinked, startled by the sudden shift, and turned to face him.
You blinked, shaking off the lingering intensity of Nishimura's stare, "Yeah," you nodded softly, a bit dazed, before following him through the crowd. As you walked away, you couldnât resist glancing back toward where Nishimura had been standing, but to your surprise, he was gone. Just like that.
Huh... where did he go? you thought, scanning the crowd for a sign of him, but he had seemingly vanished without a trace. A strange feeling settled in your chestâcuriosity mixed with something else. You shook it off and followed your friend through the throng of people, the night air cooling as the adrenaline from the race began to fade.
When you reached your friendâs car, you leaned against the door and raised an eyebrow. "Did you even race Lucas?"
He laughed, unlocking the car and shaking his head. "Nah, didnât bother. But I had fun." He wiggled his eyebrows mischievously, and you groaned, knowing exactly what he meant.
"Ugh, I did not wanna know that," you said, scrunching up your nose in mock disgust as you slid into the passenger seat.
He chuckled and turned on the engine, the car rumbling to life as he drove off into the quiet night. The ride home was comfortable, the streetlights casting fleeting shadows through the windows.
When your friend finally pulled up in front of your house, you exchanged a quick goodbye. He waved as you got out, and you offered a small smile in return, still distracted. Once inside, you kicked off your shoes, the events of the night catching up to you. A quick shower helped wash away the lingering dust and grime from the track, but it did little to clear your mind.
Finally, you collapsed into bed, your body sinking into the mattress as exhaustion pulled at you.

You had been going to more races lately, every weekend like clockwork. The underground scene was alive and buzzing, with each race becoming more intense than the last. But there was one thing you noticedâa pattern that had begun to emerge. Every time you were the starter, Nishimura was there, lined up at the start with his sleek Mitsubishi, ready to race.
At first, you chalked it up to coincidence. But as the weeks passed, it became clear that it wasnât. No matter where the races were hosted, no matter how different the crowd, Nishimura would be there. And without fail, heâd win. His driving was as smooth and precise as ever, but something about the way his eyes would linger on you just before he sped offâit left you with a strange fluttering feeling you couldn't shake.
You were about to head out when suddenly, the unmistakable wail of sirens cut through the night. In an instant, the entire atmosphere shifted. Chaos erupted as people scrambled to their cars, trying to get out before the cops could close in.
Panic surged through you as you scanned the crowd, looking for any of your friends, but the mess of people made it impossible. Cars were speeding off in every direction, headlights blurring together, and the sound of screeching tires filled the air. Your heart raced, and just as you started to feel the panic rise, a familiar sleek silver car slid to a stop beside you. The window rolled down, and there he was.
"Get in!" Nishimura shouted, his voice urgent but calm.
You didnât hesitate. Without a second thought, you jumped into the passenger seat, slamming the door behind you. Before you could even get settled, Nishimura hit the gas, and the car shot forward, weaving effortlessly between the other vehicles that were fleeing the scene. You gripped the handlebar above the door, holding on as the car sped through the narrow streets, sliding past cop cars with a precision that left you breathless.
The speedometer arrow kept climbing, the numbers blurring as the engine roared beneath you. You glanced at Nishimura, his hands steady on the wheel, his expression focused yet completely at ease. He was in his element, and you couldnât help but admire how effortlessly he handled the car, as if it was an extension of him.
After a few intense minutes, the sirens grew distant, and it became clear that the cops had lost track of you. Nishimura slowed down, the adrenaline still buzzing between the two of you, but the immediate danger had passed. You let out a breath you hadnât realized you were holding, relaxing your grip on the handlebar.
Taking a moment to steady yourself, your attention drifted to the interior of the car. Everything was sleek, black, and incredibly well-maintained. The leather seats were soft beneath you, and a soft red glow emanated from under your feet, casting a warm, almost intimate light. You couldnât help but run your fingers over the dash, admiring the attention to detail.
"You like it?" Nishimuraâs voice broke the silence, casual yet with a hint of curiosity.
"I do," you said, glancing over at him. He was still looking at the road, but there was something about the way he asked that told you he was aware of more than just the street ahead of him. His attention was on you, even if his eyes werenât.
"It fits the owner," you added with a small smile.
He let out a quiet laugh, a sound that was rare but warm. "Thanks," he said, his voice a little softer now, as if the tension from earlier had melted away.
"You donât usually hang around after races," you said, turning your attention back to him.
He glanced at you briefly, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "I guess tonight was different."
You tilted your head slightly, curious. "Different how?"
His smile deepened, but he didnât answer right away. Instead, he shifted gears smoothly, the car responding instantly to his touch. "I think you know," he finally said, his tone leaving little doubt that his reason for sticking around had something to do with you.
That fluttering feeling in your chest returned, but this time, it wasnât from the rush of the race or the chaseâit was from him.
As the car cruised smoothly through the quiet streets, the earlier intensity of the night had faded into a calm, almost comfortable atmosphere between you and Nishimura. You found yourself feeling surprisingly at ease around him, despite the fact that, up until now, your interactions had been mostly limited to stolen glances and brief conversations.
"You know," he said, glancing over at you as you watched the city pass by through the window, "you donât have to keep calling me Nishimura."
You blinked and turned to face him. "Oh, right. Is that too formal or something?"
He chuckled softly, shaking his head. "A bit. My friends call me Ni-ki."
"Ni-ki?" you repeated, testing the name on your lips.
"Yeah. Iâd rather you call me that." His voice was casual, but there was something in the way he said it that felt personal, like he was inviting you into a closer circle.
"Alright, Ni-ki it is," you said, leaning back in your seat as you relaxed. "So, what do people usually call you if theyâre not your friends?"
He smirked, his eyes flickering with a hint of amusement. "Depends. Usually something like âdangerous,â or âthe guy you donât want to race .â" He glanced at you with a playful glint in his eyes. "But Iâd like to think Iâm pretty easygoing."
"Right," you said, raising an eyebrow. "You seem so easygoing with the way you handle a car at 100 miles per hour."
He laughed at that, the sound low and genuine, and for a moment, it felt like you were just two people hanging outânothing more, nothing less. The conversation drifted from racing to random topics, a natural flow of words that felt effortless. He told you about the first time he ever drove a car, how heâd been obsessed with it ever since, and you shared a few stories of your own, mostly about how you had gotten into starting races.
At some point, you noticed the city lights getting closer and realized you were nearing your neighborhood. Ni-ki glanced at you, sensing it was time to ask the inevitable question.
"Where do you want me to drop you off?"
You gave him your address, and he nodded, making a smooth turn onto a quieter street as the roar of the engine softened. The car slowed to a stop outside your building, the night air still and quiet now that the chaos had long since passed. For a brief moment, neither of you said anything.
"Thanks for the ride," you finally said, unbuckling your seatbelt but not quite ready to leave just yet.
"No problem," he replied, his voice softer now, more personal in the quiet space between you.
You lingered for a second, unsure of what to say. Something about the night felt differentâlike it had marked the beginning of something, but you couldnât quite put your finger on it. Ni-ki seemed to sense it too, the way he looked at you, his eyes lingering just a little longer.
"Take care," you said, finally breaking the silence.
"You too," he replied, his gaze never wavering. "See you around?"
"Yeah," you nodded, feeling a strange sense of anticipation that you couldnât explain. "Definitely."
With one last glance, you stepped out of the car and closed the door behind you. As you walked toward your building, you couldnât resist turning back for a quick look. Ni-ki was still there, watching you, and when your eyes met again, he flashed you a small, knowing smile before revving the engine.
Without another word, he sped off, the silver car disappearing into the night with a smooth, powerful roar.

The past month had been a whirlwind. Your schedule had spiraled into chaos, with personal commitments swallowing up all your free time. You hadnât even thought about the races, let alone attended one. But finally, a weekend had opened up, and you felt a rush of excitement at the thought of getting back to the underground scene.
Your friend picked you up, their car bumping with bass as they pulled up to your place. You jumped in, the familiar thrill of anticipation bubbling up inside you. The ride was filled with chatter about the races youâd missed, and as you drove closer to the city, you could feel the energy in the air building.
When you arrived at the race area, it was alive with activity, the night sky illuminated by the glow of headlights and streetlights. Cars were parked everywhere, their owners mingling and showcasing their machines. The sound of engines revving and laughter filled the air, and for the first time in weeks, you felt like you could breathe.
As you wandered through the crowd, taking in the sights and sounds, you spotted Haruto leaning against a sleek, newly polished car. When he caught your eye, he grinned and pushed off the vehicle to approach you.
"How do you like the new car?" he called out as he got closer, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
You stopped, admiring the vehicle as he gestured toward it. "When did you get this one?" you asked, genuinely curious about the flashy machine that had a glossy finish reflecting the neon lights around it.
"Got it last week," he replied proudly, running a hand over the hood. "Pretty ainât she?"
"She?" You raised an eyebrow, teasing him. "You gendered it?"
He shrugged, a mischievous smile spreading across his face. "What? It just feels right. Sheâs got curves, you know?"
You rolled your eyes but couldnât suppress a grin. "Sure, whatever you say, Romeo."
He laughed, shaking his head as you turned to walk away. "You wait until you see her in action! Iâll show you what sheâs made of."
You waved him off, your eyes wandering as you continued to explore the scene. The adrenaline was intoxicating, the atmosphere buzzing with energy. You admired the different cars, from flashy sports models to classic muscle machines.
As you continued to roam the crowd, you felt the excitement in the air, but it was abruptly interrupted by a guy who stepped in front of you. He had an easy smile, but there was something off about the way he was looking at you.
"Hey there! Whatâs your name?" he asked, leaning slightly closer.
You raised an eyebrow, trying to gauge his intentions. "Not interested," you replied coolly, attempting to sidestep him.
He moved to block your path again, undeterred. "Come on, just a name. How about a number then? We could grab a drink later."
You shook your head firmly. "No thanks, I'm not interested."
His expression shifted, irritation creeping into his smile. "You sure? I could show you a good time," he said, stepping a little too close for comfort.
A sense of unease washed over you as his demeanor changed. "Back off," you warned, crossing your arms. But he didnât take the hint; instead, he leaned in even closer, trying to assert his presence.
Just then, you felt a familiar presence behind you. A voice cut through the tension, deep and commanding. "She said no. You should listen."
Nishimura appeared, sliding a hand around your waist possessively. The gesture was both comforting and electrifying, and you could feel the shift in the atmosphere. The guy's expression turned from annoyance to fear as he realized who he was dealing with.
The guy hesitated for a moment, looking between the two of you, then backed off, hands raised in defeat. "Whatever, man. Sheâs not worth it anyway," he muttered before disappearing into the crowd.
You let out a breath you didnât realize you were holding, turning to Ni-ki. "Thanks, but I had it under control," you said, attempting to downplay the situation.
He raised an eyebrow, concern etched across his face. "Didnât look like it. I hate seeing people act like that."
You opened your mouth to argue, but the intensity of his gaze made you pause. There was something in the way he looked at you that made your heart race.
"I missed you," he said suddenly, his voice dropping to a softer tone. It was as if the words slipped out without him even realizing it.
The admission hung in the air between you, leaving you speechless. You blinked, taken aback by the unexpected vulnerability in his voice. Youâd been excited to see him again, but hearing him say that made something inside you flutter.
"You⊠missed me?" you finally managed to stammer, your cheeks flushing slightly.
He looked a little sheepish, his usual confidence momentarily faltering. "Yeah, I meanâwell, itâs been a month since I last saw you. Of course, I did," he replied, his tone shifting back to its usual nonchalance, but you could tell he was trying to cover up the slip.
"Right," you said, your mind racing. There was an undeniable connection sparking between you, and the thought of it made your heart race even faster.
The rest of the night unfolded in a whirlwind of adrenaline and excitement as you found yourself gravitating closer to Ni-ki. His presence felt like a shield, and you relished every moment spent by his side. Every time someone glanced your way with interest or a hint of aggression, you could feel his posture stiffen beside you, a silent warning in his gaze that made you feel protected.

One evening, as you both leaned against his car, the night air buzzing with anticipation for the upcoming races, he turned to you, his expression serious. âI have something to tell you,â he said, his voice steady yet laced with excitement.
You tilted your head, intrigued. âWhat is it?â
âI got scouted,â he announced, the corners of his mouth lifting into a smile. âThey want me to race for them in Japan.â
Your heart skipped a beat, a rush of joy surging through you. âThatâs amazing, Ni-ki! You deserve it! This is such a huge opportunity!â You couldnât help but feel proud of him, your excitement bubbling over.
âThanks! Iâm really excited,â he said, his smile widening. Then, his expression shifted, and he looked at you earnestly. âAnd I want you to come with me.â
âWhat do you mean?â you asked, feeling a flutter of nerves and anticipation at the same time.
âI want you to be my starter full-time for all my races,â he clarified, his gaze intense as it locked onto yours. âI canât imagine doing this without you by my side. Youâve been a huge part of my journey so far, and I want you to continue with me.â
Your heart raced at the thought, excitement and disbelief flooding your mind. âYou really want me to come with you?â
âAbsolutely. You know how much racing means to me. I need someone I trust out there, and thatâs you,â he said, sincerity shining in his eyes.
âIâd love to, Ni-ki!â
His face broke into a wide grin, the kind that lit up his entire demeanor. âReally? Youâre on board?â
âIâm absolutely on board! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!â you exclaimed, your excitement bubbling over.
He stepped closer, his arms opening wide, and without hesitation, you jumped into his embrace.
âI canât believe weâre doing this!â he said into your hair, his voice slightly muffled but filled with excitement. You felt his joy resonate through you, and it made your heart swell even more.
âI know! Itâs unreal!â You pulled back slightly, your hands resting on his shoulders as you looked up into his eyes, both of you sharing that moment of exhilaration.
Ni-ki chuckled softly, still holding you close. âThis is going to be amazing.â
You couldnât help but smile at the thought.
He shook his head, a playful glint in his eyes. âWeâre going to crush it together, right? Youâll be my lucky charm out there.â
You laughed, feeling a rush of determination at his words. âAbsolutely.â
He grinned, his confidence infectious. âAnd Iâll make sure we leave them in the dust.â

When you arrived at Ni-kiâs place, you parked your car, and took a moment to admire the neighborhood. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow over everything.
Walking toward the open garage door, your gaze drifted to his sleek car sitting in the center, the hood propped open and revealing the beautifully engineered engine underneath. It was like a masterpiece of machinery, glinting under the fluorescent lights.
âNi-ki?â you called out, your voice echoing slightly in the spacious garage.
Suddenly, Ni-ki rolled out from underneath another car nearby, his face lighting up with a bright smile. âThere you are!â he exclaimed, a hint of surprise and delight in his tone. He stood up, wiping his hands with a rag he pulled from his belt, the fabric stained with oil and grease.
You couldnât help but widen your eyes, taking in the sight of him. He was wearing a pair of dirty overalls over a white tank top, which was now marred with grease and smudges. The way his muscles flexed as he worked on the cars made it hard to focus on anything else. âYou work on the cars?â you asked, trying to divert your attention from how good he looked in that moment.
âYeah, I like to tinker here and there,â he replied casually, picking up a tool from a nearby bench before rolling back under the car. âItâs kind of become a hobby!â
You hummed thoughtfully, walking around the car to get a better view of his progress. The vehicle was clearly totaled, having seen better days after a recent crash. Yet, you could see the way he meticulously worked to fix it up, and admiration swelled within you. âThis one looks like it needs a lot of love,â you commented, kneeling down to peek under the car as well.
âIt does, but I can fix it,â he said with a mix of confidence and determination. âIt just takes time. Plus, I enjoy the challenge.â
âHave you always liked working on cars?â you asked, curiosity getting the better of you.
âPretty much. My dad and I used to work on our old cars together when I was a kid,â he said, his voice slightly distant as if reminiscing about those moments. âI guess it stuck with me. Itâs therapeutic, you know? Just me and the car, figuring things out.â
You nodded, understanding how those moments could mean so much. âItâs great to have a passion outside of racing. Do you have a dream car you want to work on one day?â
He paused for a moment, considering your question. âDefinitely. Iâd love to build a classic muscle car from the ground up one day. Something that turns heads and leaves a mark on the road.â
âSounds like a plan,â you said, feeling a surge of inspiration at the thought of him chasing another dream. âIâd love to see that happen.â
Ni-ki rolled out from under the car again, this time standing up to face you fully. âYouâll be there to cheer me on, right?â he asked, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief.
âAlways,â you promised, feeling a warmth spread through you.
He grinned and stepped closer, wiping his hands on his overalls again, though it only spread the grease around more. âWell, since youâre here, you can help me out! I need a second pair of hands to hold the engine cover while I fix this part.â
âSure! What do I need to do?â you said eagerly.
âJust hold it steady while I tighten these bolts,â he instructed, moving back under the car again.

The days leading up to the race in Japan had been a whirlwind of excitement and adventure. Ni-ki showed you the sights of Tokyo, from the bustling streets of Shibuya to the tranquil gardens of the Imperial Palace.
As the day of the race approached, however, you noticed a shift in Ni-kiâs demeanor. He became quieter, more introspective, often staring off into space as if lost in his thoughts. You could see the weight of expectations resting heavily on his shoulders.
On the morning of the race, you found him sitting on the edge of his bed, his expression a mix of determination and anxiety. âNi-ki,â you said softly, approaching him. âAre you okay?â
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. âI donât know. Iâm just nervous, you know? This is a big deal, and I really want to perform well.â
You sat beside him, placing a reassuring hand on his back. âYouâve worked so hard for this, and youâre more than ready. Just remember why you started racing in the first place.â
He nodded, but his gaze remained downcast. You took a deep breath, wanting to instill confidence in him. âYouâre going to crush it out there, I know you will. Just focus on driving and trust yourself.â
As you spoke, you could see his tension slowly ease, the fire igniting in his eyes once more. âThanks for always being here for me,â he said quietly.
Without thinking, you leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on his cheek. He blinked in surprise, his cheeks turning a deep shade of crimson. âWin for me, okay?â you said with a warm smile, and watched as his gaze hardened with resolve.
âI will,â he promised, the determination in his voice returning. You could see that your words had reignited the spark within him.
As night fell, you found yourselves in the car, cruising through the darkened streets of Tokyo. The city was alive with neon lights reflecting off the sleek surfaces of buildings, casting a colorful glow that seemed to pulse in rhythm with the hum of excitement in the air.
Ni-kiâs hands gripped the steering wheel with a newfound confidence, and as he navigated the winding roads, you could feel the adrenaline building between you. âAre you ready?â he asked, glancing over at you.
âI was born ready!â you replied, trying to keep the mood light, but the thrill of the moment was palpable.
He chuckled, a mischievous grin breaking through his earlier nerves. âThatâs what I like to hear.â
As he drove, the anticipation grew heavier. You could almost taste the excitement as you approached the race venue, the sounds of revving engines and cheering crowds growing louder. You felt a surge of pride knowing youâd be right by his side, supporting him through every twist and turn of the race.
âJust remember,â you said, leaning closer as he focused on the road, âno matter what happens out there, youâve got this."
His expression softened, and he turned to meet your gaze. âThanks for believing in me. It means everything.â
You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through you. âAlways, Ni-ki."
âââ ââ
ââ
â ââ
You strolled around the venue, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. The high-end cars gleamed under the bright lights, each one more stunning than the last. You took your time admiring the sleek designs and intricate details.
Trying to immerse yourself in the culture, you remembered some of the Japanese phrases Ni-ki had taught you during your flight. You approached a group of racers and smiled, offering compliments. While some responded with smiles and nods, others seemed confused, and you quickly realized that your limited vocabulary wasnât enough to keep the conversations going.
As you wandered, you eventually found yourself standing alone, lost in thought about the upcoming race, when a tall guy approached you with a smirk. He started speaking rapidly in Japanese, gesturing animatedly, but you could only catch bits and pieces.
âSorryâ you said, apologizing. âI donât understand," you added, hoping he would take the hint and leave you alone.
Instead, his expression darkened, and he leaned closer, his voice becoming more aggressive as he pressed you with questions you couldnât comprehend. When he reached out and grabbed your wrist, panic surged through you, and you instinctively pulled away. However, his grip was too tight, and the pressure made you wince.
Just then, you heard a familiar voice cut through the commotion. âHey! Get away from her!â Ni-ki stormed in, eyes blazing with anger as he pulled you behind him, creating a protective barrier.
The guy hesitated, then turned to Ni-ki, their eyes locking as they began to argue back and forth in rapid Japanese. You couldnât follow their exchange, but the intensity of the situation was palpable. You rubbed your wrist, still feeling the remnants of the manâs grip as you looked from Ni-ki to the guy, who had turned an alarming shade of red, clearly taken aback by Ni-ki`s arrival.
Finally, Ni-ki turned away from the confrontation and guided you toward his car, his grip firm but gentle on your shoulder. âCome on,â he said, urgency in his tone.
âWhat? What happened?â you asked, bewildered, still trying to process everything.
âIâm racing,â he replied shortly, his eyes focused ahead as he led you toward his Mitsubishi.
âAgainst who?â you asked, glancing back at the guy, who was now standing there with a scowl, his earlier bravado deflated.
âAgainst the creep,â Ni-ki answered, anger simmering beneath his calm exterior.
Your heart raced at the thought. âWait, Ni-ki, you donât have to do this! Itâs not worth it.â
He shot you a determined look, his jaw set. âI know. But he canât just treat you like that. This isnât just about racing; itâs about respect.â
You swallowed hard, realizing how serious he was. As he climbed into the driverâs seat, you took a moment to collect yourself, grateful for his protective instincts. âAre you sure youâre okay to race right now?â you asked, concern lacing your voice.
He turned to you, his expression softening just a fraction. âIâm fine. I just need to focus. Youâll be right here, right?â
âOf course,â you replied, forcing a smile to reassure him, even though you were still rattled by the encounter.
You took a deep breath, standing between Ni-ki's sleek Mitsubishi and the other guy's carâa flashy, souped-up Honda that glinted under the neon lights. Your heart raced, a mix of excitement and anxiety coursing through you. You could feel the energy in the air, thick with anticipation as both drivers revved their engines, the deep growl echoing around you.
"Are you guys ready?" you called out, trying to maintain your composure as you pointed toward both cars. Ni-ki shot you a confident nod, his eyes locked on the road ahead. The other driver, still wearing a cocky grin, gave you a thumbs-up.
As the cars revved louder, you turned your gaze to a guy standing nearby, holding a walkie-talkie. He was scanning the area, and when he got the go-ahead that the police were nowhere in sight, he shot you a thumbs-up.
Your pulse quickened at the sight, and you felt a rush of adrenaline. You lifted the flag high, your heart pounding in your chest, and with a swift motion, you waved it down. "Go!" you shouted, your voice carrying over the roar of the engines.
Both cars shot off the line, tires screeching as they sped into the dark streets of Tokyo. You watched as they darted away, the headlights illuminating the path ahead like shooting stars against the night sky. The ground trembled beneath your feet from the sheer power of the vehicles, and you could almost feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins as the excitement enveloped you.
âââ ââ
ââ
â ââ
Ni-ki gripped the steering wheel tightly, adrenaline coursing through his veins as he and the other driver raced side by side through the neon-lit streets of Tokyo. He could feel the intensity radiating from the other car, a flashy Honda that kept trying to tip him off balance.
âCome on, you think you can take me out?â he muttered under his breath, his eyes locked on the road ahead. The guy was aggressive, swerving dangerously close and attempting to nudge him off course. Ni-ki remained focused, expertly maneuvering around the obstacles in his path.
He drifted into a turn, the tires screeching against the asphalt as he counter-steered and weaved through the traffic. Cars honked and swerved, their drivers caught off guard by the reckless speed of the two racers. The other driver tried to play dirty, attempting to crash into Ni-ki's rear, but Ni-ki was prepared for it. He kept his cool, steering away just in time and cutting in front of the guy as they barreled through a narrow alleyway.
âNot today,â he said through gritted teeth, determination fueling every decision he made.
Out of the corner of his eye, Ni-ki noticed a police car trailing behind them, its sirens blaring loudly. His heart dropped as he glanced in the rearview mirror, the flashing lights reflecting the urgency of the situation. âNo, no, no,â he repeated, frustration rising within him. He couldnât let himself get caughtânot after everything they had worked for.
The other driver seemed to notice the approaching officer as well, and in a desperate attempt to throw Ni-ki off his game, he swerved dangerously close, trying to shove Niki into the path of the police car. Ni-ki's heart raced as he saw the cop trying to close the gap, the pressure mounting.
With quick reflexes, Ni-ki shifted gears and accelerated, pushing his car to its limits as he turned sharply to avoid a collision. He felt the weight of the Honda trying to force him into a corner, but he countered with another drift, keeping his grip tight on the wheel. The other driver, frustrated and reckless, made a final lunge for Ni-ki's car, but in the process, he miscalculated.
Ni-ki watched as the guyâs car collided with the police vehicle, the impact sending both cars spinning. Metal crunched, and he could hear the screeching of tires against pavement. Ni-ki couldnât help but glance back, disbelief washing over him as he saw the police car crash into a row of parked cars, sending them crashing into one another like dominoes.
âHolyââ he breathed, shaking his head. The guy had gone too far. He took a moment to process the chaos, his heart still racing, but he knew he couldnât dwell on it. The adrenaline and excitement of the race was intoxicating, and he had to keep his head in the game.
Ni-ki refocused on the road ahead, determination burning in his chest. He could see the finish line in the distance, the crowd gathering, their cheers a distant roar that urged him forward. With one final surge of speed, he pressed down on the accelerator, feeling the power of the car respond instantly. He was going to win this raceânot just for himself, but for you, the one waiting at the finish line.
As he crossed the line, the cheers of the crowd erupted around him, the thrill of victory washing over him like a wave. But even in that moment, he knew he had to keep his cool and stay grounded. After all, he was racing not just against the clock, but against chaos itself.
As Ni-ki crossed the finish line, the exhilaration of victory pulsed through him. He could hardly contain his excitement as he slammed the brakes, his Mitsubishi screeching to a halt. The roar of the crowd enveloped him, a wave of adrenaline and triumph crashing over him like a tidal wave. He hopped out of the car, his heart racing not just from the race but from the sight of you waiting at the finish line, a wide smile on your face.
âDid you see that?â he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with joy as he bounded over to you. He pulled you into a tight embrace, lifting you off your feet for a moment. The thrill of the win felt amplified with you by his side, and he couldn't help but bask in the warmth of your presence.
âI did! You were amazing!â you replied, laughter bubbling from your lips as he set you down.
âJust doing what I do best,â he said with a playful smirk, rubbing the back of his neck in a show of modesty. But the pride in his eyes was unmistakable. He took a moment to soak it all in, the cheers of the crowd ringing in his ears, but it was your smile that made his heart swell with happiness.
As the crowd surged around him, eager to congratulate the victor, Ni-ki turned back to you, his expression softening. âYou know, I couldnât have done it without you,â he said, sincerity lacing his words. âYou were my good luck charm.â
Your cheeks flushed at his compliment, and you felt a surge of pride wash over you. âIâll be your good luck charm any day,â you teased, poking him playfully in the side.
The celebration continued around you, people shouting his name and clapping him on the back. Ni-ki basked in the glory, but even as the crowd cheered and celebrated, his eyes kept darting back to you, finding comfort in your presence.
From then, every race he entered seemed to follow the same pattern. Each time, he emerged victorious, his confidence soaring with each win.
âââ ââ

Laying on the hood of Ni-ki's car, the warmth of the metal beneath you was comforting as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the city. The vibrant hues of orange and pink painted the sky, creating a perfect backdrop for the moment you both shared. You leaned into Ni-ki, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat against your side, and you couldn't help but smile as you glanced up at him.
Ni-ki's gaze was fixed on you, his eyes shimmering with a mix of happiness and something deeperâsomething that made your heart flutter.
As you exchanged shy glances, the atmosphere shifted. The distance between you disappeared, and suddenly, you found yourselves inching closer together. Your heart raced, a mix of anticipation and excitement coursing through you as he brushed a strand of hair behind your ear.
âHey,â he said softly, his voice low and tender.
âHey,â you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
In that moment, everything felt perfect. You both leaned in, your lips meeting in a gentle kiss. It started soft and sweet, but as Ni-ki pulled you closer, deepening the kiss, it became something more. His hands slid around your waist, anchoring you to him as you melted against him, losing yourself in the warmth of his embrace.
You could feel his heart racing against your chest, mirroring the excitement and passion that filled the air around you.
As the kiss grew more passionate, you felt Ni-kiâs fingers thread through your hair, pulling you even closer. You sighed against him, savoring the moment, the thrill of it allâthis incredible connection that had blossomed between you.
Finally, you pulled away, both of you breathless and smiling like fools, your foreheads resting against each other.
âYou have no idea how long Iâve wanted to do that,â he admitted, his cheeks tinged with a faint blush.
âOh, really?â you teased, a playful glint in your eyes. âYou seemed pretty good at racing; I thought youâd be good at kissing too.â
Ni-ki chuckled, shaking his head. âIâm still figuring out this whole romance thing. But with you? It just feels right.â
Your heart swelled at his words, and you couldnât help but lean in for another quick kiss. The sun had fully set now, leaving a blanket of stars shimmering overhead, but the warmth of the moment lingered.

âU.S. President Joe Biden issued a memorandum on Thursday requiring allies who receive military aid from the U.S. to provide âcredible and reliable written assurancesâ of their adherence to international law including international human rights law,â the Times of Israel reported. Israel will need to supply written assurances within 45 days or risk loss of aid. The report added, âThe memo did not mention specific countries who would be held up to the new standard, but came amid increasing calls in the U.S. to condition aid to Israel due to concerns over its military operations in Gaza which were triggered by the Oct. 7 attacks, in which Hamas terrorists murdered some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped 253.â No one should underestimate the impact of the decision. The Associated Press explained, âDemocratic senators on Friday called Bidenâs directive â meant to bring breadth, oversight, deadlines and teeth to efforts to ensure foreign governments donât use U.S. military aid against civilians â historic.â
[.......]
Biden also pressed on with intense one-on-one diplomacy. After his comment on Thursday evening that Israel had been âover the topâ in Gaza, Biden engaged with Netanyahu on Sunday in a 45-minute conversation â unusually long by most diplomatic standards (and even more so given that no time had to be spent on translation with English-fluent Netanyahu). According to the White House readout, Biden insisted Israel make âcredibleâ arrangements to protect civilians before launching a widely criticized military plan for Rafah, where civilian casualties could mount. He also pressed Netanyahu again to increase humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. Bidenâs patient approach with Netanyahu over months has gradually transformed into a private and public pressure campaign. A Biden official told The Post that the leaders had âa pretty detailed back and forth on that.â

Meanwhile Trump?
Trump has said he would implement travel bans on people from certain countries or with certain ideologies, expanding on a policy upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018. Trump previewed some parts of the world that could be subjected to a renewed travel ban in a mid-October speech, pledging to restrict people from the Gaza Strip, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen and "anywhere else that threatens our security." During the speech, Trump focused on the conflict in Gaza, saying he would bar the entry of immigrants who support the Islamist militant group Hamas and send deportation officers to pro-Hamas protests.
Also: Trump vows to expand Muslim ban and bar Gaza refugees if he wins presidency
Really, really not sure how much clearer I can make it here for y'all, but sure. Something something Trump's actually a better choice on this issue/overall (sarcasm).

Scarlet Lady Top 10 Favorite Characters: Number 10
For @zoe-oneesama
Okay, I realized as I was writing these that there is way way WAY too much to each of these and why to be able to put them all into one post, so I'm breaking them down into individual essays focusing on each one to keep them palatable.
So without further ado....
Number 10: EVERYONE
Yeah, I know it may be cheating but at this point it was the only choice I could make.
I came to regret making this list, specifically because I couldnât seem to make up my mind as far as who all would be on it. I reread the entire series. I kept switching people in and out as I was reminded of characters or scenes I loved. And I came to a realization that there is no character in the whole of this series I didnât enjoy to some extent that they didn't deserve some love in this list and I kind of wish I could have added all of them just to give them all some spotlight.
Yes, it is partly because everyone is vastly improved compared to Canon. But as I reread the series, it came to mind that if Canon didnât exist and I didnât have the comparison between the characters, I still very much would have loved this series and everyone in it.
Cause and Effect Exist
It's important to have a setting in which the characters and their actions make sense for the world they live in. When the setting is supposed to be modern day earth, we need the people to be able to show that they are capable of surviving in it on a day to day basis without being so massively incompetent that they would do something like accidentally ingesting poison. Or forgetting how to breathe.
I would think it would be obvious, but sometimes Canon makes me wonder. Which is never a good look for a show that is supposed to have some level of seriousness and involve superheroes.
Hereâs the thing Canon canât seem to get: when a majority of the things that go wrong in a plot are because of everyone having to be stupid to make the plot work, you have a problem with the writing. Changing the material in a story so that younger people can enjoy it does NOT mean dumbing down the characters and throwing in arbitrary lessons with no real reason to them. Even if the show itself is geared towards kids, you canât treat the audience like theyâre stupid.
In Scarlet Lady, the people arenât stupid.
Silly, yes. Wrong, often. Overdramatic, definitely. But while they may make stupid choices sometimes, they arenât so dumb that anyone should have concerns about their ability to function at a higher level than an overcaffinated 2 year old.
Theyâre fooled initially the way many of us would be with a biased story that hits the news first. Oblivious to the problems in a situation that they logically wouldnât have much direct insight into. Prone to making mistakes and incorrect judgement the way that anyone would. That's normal. That's expected.
But theyâre not so incapable as to forget things that happen right in front of them between one day and the next. Or even between one scene and the next.
Things carry over. We see cause and effect. We see consequencesâbad and good. And those consequences extend not only for the episode or season but for the entire series.
Aurore KNOWs Alec cheated her before and maintains a tight control over him and prevents more of his antics.
Adrien and Alya maintain a cold attitude towards Lila for some time after her reveal as a liar. And it even remains a point against her as used by Chloe as herself and as Scar to discount what she says.
The boys of the class remember Adrienâs âlove letter to Marigoldâ and try to win him her merch because theyâre bros like that.Â
Adrien himself remembers the instances of his dad being a massive prick and instead of being surprised and âsad boi uwuwuâ each time it happens like itâs supposed to be a surprise that the massive prick would choose to be a prick, he very clearly moves through the stages of grief to the point of a sort of acceptance that involves planning around and even for him.
Gabrielâs horrible parenting and general lack of concern for Adrien or his wellbeing as he ends up a casualty of various akuma attacks was played off for laughs when such incidents occurred. Then they were brutally called out against him in the Finale as a way to counter his claims of doing everything for Adrienâs sake. And the big reveal of the Birthday ScarfâŠutilized in the last way anyone would have wanted.
And Chloe is perhaps the biggest example as her antics ARE NOT forgotten or ignored by anyone. The classmates still interact with Chloe and are relatively nice to her, but they donât just forget that sheâs treated them horribly. They donât act surprised when she does anything horrible. Nor does anyone just laugh it off or excuse it as âjust who she isâ. We see follow up to her behaviorâthe class fully expecting her to cause trouble and actively try to plan around it. People calling her out on past behaviors. And even bigger consequences as time goes on. Such as Adrien breaking off the friendship. And a blink and you miss it fridge logic moment in Ikari Gozen when you realize that when they said she was banned from all future Gabriel-involved competitions, they meant it.
The fact that by the time the big reveal happened that Chloe was Scarlet Lady, no one was shocked.
Story-wise, this is showing the passage of time and the effect the events of the story are having. Itâs showing that there is lasting impact and that what happens to the characters matters.
Meta-wise, this is Zoe rewarding us for paying attention.
Continuity exists in Scarlet Lady. Time exists. The people exist. When anyone does anything, you get the sense that they arenât operating in a vacuum. The things they do matter. There are consequences. There is an impact. And if there is an impact in the story, there will be an impact on the audience.
Which leads toâŠ
Character Depth/Character Growth
Usually in TV shows of this nature, if there ARE character arcs for the side characters, they only occur over the course of a single episode devoted to focusing on them before moving on elsewhere.Â
Canon didnât give us that much at all in favor of having every episode that should focus on other characters learning and growing instead forcing Marinette to be wrong in some way and learn an arbitrary lesson that often would have better served for someone else.
In Scarlet Lady, the arcs we get are impressive for all that theyâre relatively unobtrusive. They arenât big. They arenât world-ending. And the thing is, most change in life isnât. It can just FEEL that way.
Like the way it felt for Kim when he first found out Ondine liked him and then had his confession to her screwed up.
And the way it felt for Kagami when she lost that first match against Adrien.
Then thereâs the way it felt for Chloe when she was dismissed by her mother, had her popularity go downhill, and ended up losing her Miraculous.
âŠor the way it felt for Adrien when he discovered his dad was Hawk Moth.
The reactions we witness are in a great part due to actions outside of the charactersâ control, but are ultimately a result of the experiences they have had and the ways they have changed as a result.
The question becomes: are the characters that we meet at the beginning pretty much identical to how they are at the end? Is the world?
The answer in Scarlet Lady is no.
Whether because the characters themselves change or our perception of them does, we can see that they have all undergone some sort of events that create a difference between the start and end points.
Not all of them HAVE to undergo some big emotional arc. Not all of them NEED to. But the characters still mostly go through some sort of growth by the end that I feel make them stronger and healthier people.
Youâve got the big life-altering changes like Lila and Sabrina.
Youâve got the little changes like Nino and Ivan.
Youâve even got the most minuscule, beginning stages of change in Chloe.
Youâve got growth that creates such perfect setup with Mylene when she starts off scared and traumatized by how things went with Stoneheart then is the one who confronts him in the end. And the parallel between the finale and the beginning when she returns him to normal by kissing him just like they did in that first episode to change him back then, too! (JustâŠ.GOD, I CANNOT GET OVER THIS!)
Youâve got them reaching out and making friends and relating to people they hadnât before.
And by the end of it all, we get characters who feel like people rather than props.
They donât all have to change. They donât necessarily need to go through an entire emotional arc and back again. They just need to be part of the world theyâre in.
Nino doesnât just pop into existence when Adrien or Alya need someone to interact with. Kagami isnât just a non-horrible or non-evil love rival for Adrien or a stepping stool for him to âpracticeâ at being in a relationship before itâs time for him to try the âreal thingâ with his endgame pairing. Luka isnât just a decent guy who is the only actual form of support for the female lead and yet only lacking that precious âmale leadâ title or all around just not âAdrien enoughâ to fill the role.
Adrien isnât just a âsad boyâ meant to be a main love interest, Villainâs Morality Pet, and the one everyone idolizes and chases after just cuz heâs the male lead and thatâs how you show heâs desirable I guess. Marinette isnât the atlas keeping the story alive because no one else is apparently capable of learning lessons and changing, or even just the bare basics of functioning as individuals. Chloe isnât just there to be horrible for no reason and get away with it so she can continue to be horrible until the writers suddenly need her to be sympathetic.
And the rest of the classmates arenât just some Greek chorus there to fill the background.
We see them interact. We see them making jokes or jabs. We see them evenâŠ*gasp* having different opinions!
And on something as major and life-controlling as feelings about the âHero of the Cityâ no less! Why, thatâs the sort of thing that would break up friendships and determine who you can sit next to at the cafeteria! The horror! The scandal!
AndâŠoh hey. This puts the characters in different groups. It links them with characters other their Canonically designated pairings and groups. This lets them disagree on things and not need to vilify any of them. This creates implications that add depth to the story and to the people in it.
The characters can disagree without being enemies. They can be wrong without having to be evil. They can make mistakes without having to be stupid. And they can change and growâboth for better and worse.
And we see both and in different ways. SO many different ways.
Adrien goes from excited and impulsive to buckling under the forced responsibility and weight of a partner who hinders more than she helps.
Lila goes from selfishly bad and self-serving to selfish but friendly with better direction of her talents in a less self-serving way.
And Chloe just goes from selfish and bad to selfish and worse..
I mean, it says something that the combination of Lilaâs growth and Chloeâs fall from grace resulted in Hawk Moth being unable to use Lila as a tool for his Heroes Day plot like he originally intended.
The key is that whether they necessarily grow or become better people, these characters are still IMPACTED by the events around them and AFFECTED as a natural result of the world they live in.Â
You canât help but feel for them in some way as a result. Itâs part of why I love them.
The other part of why I love them is a bit more epic thoughâŠ
Crowning Moments of Awesome
If thereâs one thing I love, itâs seeing characters be awesome. I love it when characters get to be awesome. I would love to see more of it. Especially when the ones involved are characters you wouldnât normally expect or get to see have a chance to shine.
And itâs when you see these characters be awesome that you really get the sense that yes, this character would work as a hero.
Seeing Max help against Robustus. Seeing Kim help against Odine. Alix stepping in during Pharaoh, calling out her brotherâs fan fiction, and helping the heroes escape the security system at the Lourve. Alya stepping in during Copycat to clue Chat in to whatâs going on and later keeping Anansi distracted to keep her away from Chat while heâs trapped. Rose kicking Nightmare!Chat in the face to defend Marinette even when sheâs on the run from her own nightmares in Sandboy. Luka leading groups twice to stepping in and helping the heroes deal with akumas. Nathaniel standing up for Marinette and Sabrina when theyâre accused in Rogercop and then helping the heroes in Reverser.
These little moments of support make such a big different and really make it make sense that the heroes would trust these people with magical jewelry to help them in battle.
And the little moments of characters being petty or strong or smart or turning the tables or just showing off what theyâre capable of. Even without superpowers.
Adrien getting petty revenge for Nino and finding a tactic to counter Gabriel in the future.
The Police Force in Rogercop just saying âNopeâ to obeying an obvious akuma.Â
Zoe manipulating akumas twice to help the heroes. Her two Reasons You Suck Speeches to her mom and Bustier.
Every instance of payback that Tikki gets against Chloe.
Everyone in the Finale. JustâŠEVERYONE in the Finale. The characters who manage to avoid akumatization by either spotting the flaws in the illusion or refusing to give in to fear and even protecting others. Nora smacking any akuma that enters the home. Claudie pulling off Power Mom and ordering Max to stop attacking the city then helping to calm him down. Prince Ali and Juleka freeing Rose by kissing her! Chris, Ella, Etta, and Manon saving Mylene! Mylene saving Ivan with a kiss in a direct callback to how they first got together in Stoneheart! (Yes, I am still stuck on that!) Ondine saving Kim! Lila and Sabrina saving Alix! Luka facing Riposte alone and unarmed and then Kitty Section saving Kagami! ALL of the Heroes making a final comeback to help take down Hawk Moth for good! JustâAAAAAH!
How could Miraculous have peaked with this in Season 2 when this is Grand Finale material? Because there are few things more awesome than getting to see ALL the characters the heroes met and befriended and helped throughout the course of the story stepping up at the final battle to help take the Big Bad down!
LikeâŠcan we just take a moment to appreciate how everyone gets a chance to stand out in some way? Not all of them necessarily good, exactly (looking at you Andre). But still stand out and be memorable. Even characters who didnât originally get much focus. Especially characters who were originally functioning as cardboard cutouts to fill a scene.
Anyone remember Aurore? How for the FIRST akuma in the pilot of the series and one who is quite frankly the most interesting and noteworthy, we donât really get to see her again except in the background.
In Scarlet Lady, we got to actually look in to the contest and how she lost as well as the aftermath. She wasnât some arrogant showoff who deserved to lose to the âsweet down to earth rivalâ, she was a girl who legitimately tried her best and had valid reason to be upset. Seeing her get revenge on Alec for cheating and humiliating her on live TV was well worth it.
Or how about the Photographer? Just there to take photos of Adrien in the park for a photo shoot or be the school photographer, but otherwise has no personality and is only remembered for his weird âspaghettiâ line.
In Scarlet Lady, his role is two-fold. He acts as a sort of supporter for Adrien in his crush. Taking really good pictures of him being happy with the girl he likes. Taking more class photos at the behest of this girl for the sake of a friend who missed out on the class picture. And then thereâs his OTHER role as a sort of antagonist to Chloe. He becomes one of the only ones in the early seasons willing and capable of dismissing her tantrums.
Theyâre both given more character. They get moments to stand out and BE awesome. So is everyone.
EVERYONE. From the classmates and big named characters we see regularly to the side characters who only appear once or twice. They all get some good scenes and focus that give them their own identities. All of them are memorable. None of them can really be ignored or forgotten. And part of what made making this list so difficult was that I found myself getting attached to pretty much everyone as I came across each of them that I couldnât quite make up my mind.
Everyone in this fic has done something to make me happy and warrant my approval. Even the characters I normally wouldnât like at all had their moments to shine and elicit an âokay, that was coolâ from me.
Thus I grant this spot to everyone. To all the characters I donât get the chance to mention. To all the ones I like albeit somewhat less than others. To all the ones I know are horrible but canât help but like regardless. To all the ones I fought with myself for THREE MONTHS over which one would get this spot.
I love all of them.

"One of the least respected but most important ecosystems on Earth are seagrass meadows, and a pioneering robotic solution is helping marine scientists restore these underwater gardens.
The ReefGen Grasshopper can plant dozens of seagrass seeds per minute. Not only is this faster than a human diver, but much safer as well.
It works by injecting a tiny slurry of sediment wrapped around the seagrass seed into the seafloor. After covering a growing plot of four seeds, the robot âhopsâ about 30 centimeters away and starts again.
Despite covering a minuscule portion of the seafloor, seagrass meadows are estimated to hold 35-times more carbon than terrestrial forestsâamounting to around 18% of the total carbon stock of the worldâs oceans.
ReefGenâs founder Tom Chi dreamed up the idea after watching the degradation of coral reefs on his home island in Hawaii. The first iteration of the robot set coral âplugsâ onto existing reefs to help regrow them, but the technology was prohibitively expensive for wide-scale use.
Now however, broader selections of off-the-shelf parts have driven down the costs of manufacturing and maintaining underwater robots, according to Chris Oakes, CEO of ReefGen.
âManual planting works, but robots are really good when things are dull, dirty, dangerous, or distantâthe four Ds,â Oakes told CNN, adding that at the moment, Grasshopper is piloted with a controller by a human on the surface.
âRight now, weâre focused on the planting, the biology, and the mechanical aspects, once weâre confident that thatâs all designed the right way, we will overlay more semi-autonomous features like navigation, so you donât actually have to pilot it,â he said.
ReefGen has been able to not only expand into restoration of seagrass meadows, but also see its robots used in oceans around the world. This July, Grasshopper planted 25,000 seeds in Wales. In October, ReefGen teamed up with the University of North Carolina (UNC) Institute of Marine Sciences to test various seed replanting methods out on the stateâs declining seagrass meadows.
Oakes says that as cool and âflashyâ as a robotic solution might seem, the most important factor in its success will be the long-term monitoring of the fields itâs replanting. Are they growing to maturity, are the seedlings dying off before then, will they live long enough to seed and germinate fields of their own, how do fields it plants compare to fields planted by hand??"
